In Barbara Keesling's latest book for women about sex, the noted sex therapist mines the idea that virtually every good girl yearns in her heart to be a bad girl.

2 1/2 stars........2006-09-21
this book is not very good. if you have ever had sex this book does not tell you anything new. basically it tells you a couple positions. guy on top. girl on top. it tells you not to wear a flannel pajamas and bunny slippers to bed if you want to turn your partner on. just basic things that are nothing more than common knowledge. sorry to say im very disappointed and would not reccomend this book.
Serious results!.......2006-07-21
I started reading this book when my boyfriend mentioned that his cousin was reading it, and he believed that I defined "good girl", and needed to shift over to "bad girl" by reading this book. I thought our sex life was great, but my partner is older and more experienced than I am, so I took his words seriously and ordered the book.
I'm only 3/4 through the book and it has made a SERIOUS difference in my sex life. We're having more pleasure and more FUN than ever imaginable! I totally rock his world now, and I can't imagine being a good girl ever again!
Most of this book isn't about sex, really. It's about your image of yourself, and how you have been "taught", growing up, that thoughts about sex are bad and that wanting sex automatically makes you promiscuous. It teaches you to embrace sex as something healthy, fun, and needed! Keesling pulls you outside to look at the way you have been behaving, and explains why you're doing this and how to change it to make you feel more confident, and sexier! This goes for walking, talking, sitting, standing, dressing, everything. And it doesn't tell you to dress like a prostitute, either, so don't worry. All of this comfort in everyday life makes you more confident under the sheets. You learn to feel comfortable telling your guy what you want, asking him what he wants, delivering upon both yours and his needs, and having a TON of fun!!
I am so happy I have read this book, and I can't believe I had a sex life before this! This book is fun, informative, and very easy to read. The context is casual, so it feels like you're having a one-on-one chitchat with your favorite girlfriend, which is never boring. What've you got to lose by picking up this book? Seriously!! Good girl no more!! ;)
Newbie.......2006-03-28
I bought the book to help my post-baby frumpiness. After reading the book I think it would have been a fabulous read before I got married. It's a great introduction to seduction and very informative -- but if I tried to bring a feather duster into the bedroom my husband would explode into laughter.
A liberating, fun book.......2005-07-11
This book goes far beyong 'bedroom skills' and deals with how to act like a sensual woman through your daily life. The author covers how what we wear affects how we feel, our walk, posture, the thoughts that go through our minds. It is very interesting. Being faithfully married for fourteen years, this has helped me to be even more attracted to my husband, and our sex life has gone off the charts, as I feel good about who I am. Barbara Keesling writes in a fun way, like she was sitting down having a conversation with you. Great sex truly is 99% mental. This book is sure to help you have the sex you've always wanted if you follow through with the suggestions she makes.
Brilliant.......2005-03-09
As a preface, my mom died when i was 13. I've been wandering around womanhood and feminity without a compass for 10 years. This got me back on course. I'm learning to embrace the power that comes along with being a woman, not only that, but i'm learning to focus it and not be ashamed of it.
This book is not just about sex, but it's about how a woman should see herself. It's about saying it's okay to be sexual, think about sex, enjoy sex, exude sex. It is not about being a slut. It's about being empowered.

Book Description
It came in a plain brown wrapper, no return address--an audiocassette recording of a horrifying, soul-lacerating scream, followed by the sound of a childlike voice chanting: "Bad love. Bad love. Don't give me the bad love... ". For Alex Delaware the tape is the first intimation that he is about to enter a living nightmare. Others soon follow: disquieting laughter echoing over a phone line that suddenly goes dead, a chilling act of trespass and vandalism. He has become the target of a carefully orchestrated campaign of vague threats and intimidation rapidly building to a crescendo as harassment turns to terror, mischief to madness. With the help of his friend LAPD detective Milo Sturgis, Alex uncovers a series of violent deaths that may follow a diabolical pattern. And if he fails to decipher the twisted logic of the stalker's mind games, Alex will be the next to die. Taut, penetrating, terrifying, Bad Love is vintage Kellerman.

Simply the worst book I have ever read...ever.......2007-02-08
A friend of mine gave me Bad Love to read when I spent the night at his house and was looking for a book. I started it, and took it home with me. After almost finishing it, I called him and said I really didn't like it, at which point he started laughing and told me both he and his wife thought it was horrible, and they gave it to me as a gag! They couldn't beleive I got as far as I did.
I like fiction, and even meaningless pop-fiction like Patterson, Stephen King, Grisham, etc., so I'm not some elitist. Bad Love is without a doubt the worst work I have ever read. I am shocked that people have given this garbage 5 stars. It's poorly written, has a bad plot, and....you know what....its not even worth going on. I am only writing to warn others. Avoid at all costs. You would be better off shaving your head with a cheese grater than putting yourself through Bad Love.
Not so much love for Bad Love.......2006-11-11
I was actually disappointed with this book. I judged the book by the cover and I liked the overall appeal of the cover and the headlines, but as I read it went into so much detail that I would forget what I was reading. It took me about a good month to finish it but it wasnt worth reading 500-600 pages... lost count. But it was not worth waiting getting to the 30th chapter to wrap it up and get to the point. For me, there wasnt much suspense. Overall it kept me occupied and now I'm starting a new book.
A twisting roller-coaster of a ride.......2006-05-11
I really enjoyed this one. Dr. Alex Delaware - child psychologist/police
consultant - is in real peril and it's possible even his pal Detective
Milo Sturgis can't help him this time.
It starts with a package in the mail - a very disturbing cassette tape
that sets Alex on edge. But then, it becomes apparent that he's being
stalked and with therapists dropping like flies, Alex is afraid he may
be next on the list! It's a real twisty-turny plot that kept me reading,
but there are so many names, I couldn't keep everyone straight. Alex and
his girlfriend Robin are really put through the ringer by this stalker
as the little harassing escapades get more and more intense - more and
more violent - more and more deadly.
There's a new addition to the cast - an adorable little stray dog named
Rover/Spike/Barry ... Love that dog! Hope he stays around. And it's
interesting to see just how well connected Milo is - he has friends
everywhere.
The best Alex Delaware novel I've read.......2006-02-20
While I haven't read many of Jonathan Kellerman's novels featuring Dr. Alex Delaware (a child psychologist who does consulting for the local police, and often ends up playing detective), this one is best.
The title, which I understand, after reading the book, might be a mistake, as it suggests themes that are not in the book. The book starts with Dr. Delaware being asked to evaluate two little girls, whose father is incarcerated for killing their mother, as the father wants visitation with his daughters, while the deceased mother's family opposes the idea. Then, he begins receiving very strange threats, including a tape of screaming and someone chanting about "bad love." As Delaware, and his police-liaison and friend, Milo Sturgis, investigate, they begin to uncover connections between an increasing number of unsolved murders, with a seminar, years earlier, being the connecting thread. And, the investigation indicates that Delaware is on the killer's hit-list.
The characters are well-rounded, the plot is complex, there are some genuine surprises, and, unlike Mr. Kellerman's "The Clinic," I did not feel that Delaware and Sturgis had suddenly come up with a few new, and crucial facts, right at the end, that enabled them to solve it. Jonathan Kellerman does go too far, in my opinion, in describing everyone and everything, in great detail, thus slowing down the pace, but the story, in "Bad Love," overcomes this.
Great for a short trip.......2006-01-05
I found this book very interesting, and well done, I enjoy listening to audio books in my car due to the fact I spend a lot of time there and can listen on a long trip or short one or just every time I get in it I listen to another piece of the plot. This book kept my attention so well I got to my destination before I knew it.

Bad Boys In Kilts.......2006-08-21
Bottoms Up
Kat Henderson works as a mechanic along side her father in their small town of Glenbuie, Scotland. An American has recently graced their town and her name is Daisy MacDonnell. Kat is convinced that Daisy has her sights set on Brodie Chisholm and she is sure that Brodie doesn't mind at all. Brodie owns and operates his family's tavern Hagg's. He and Kat are close friends but Kat wants so much more. Kat doesn't think Brodie will ever see her as anything but his tomboy best friend though.
As Kat prepares to battle for Brodie she encounters a surprising ally and she heads over to Hagg's eager to capture Brodie's attention as a woman instead of a friend. Brodie is shocked.
Kat and Brodie are afraid of losing what they have with each other, but if one of them doesn't make a move, they'll never know what else could be between them.
Bottom's Up is very romantic. With breathless anticipation, I waited for Brodie and Kat to make love and that moment is incredibly arousing. The sexual tension, Kat's vulnerability and sweet nature, and Brodie's sexy Scottish bur all combine to create a very heartwarming and passionate story. I didn't want it to end!
On Tap
Reese Chisholm keeps himself very busy running the distillery his family owns. He has almost no social life and he is fine with that.
Daisy MacDonnell has come to their small Scottish town to run her aunt's stationary store. Daisy also has a flare for marketing and she is interested in promoting Reese's distillery. Reese wants to leave well enough alone but when he first sets eyes on beautiful Daisy, his flustering and uncharacteristic reaction to her baffles him.
Reese and Daisy have a business meeting that quickly becomes too intimate to be called business anymore. Daisy has no intention of mixing business with pleasure, but Reese is becoming a very difficult and sensuous distraction.
On Tap is a story full of passion and tenderness. Daisy and Reese complete each other. Their love affair is fast and intense. Reese finds a piece of his life that he never knew was missing until Daisy stumbles into his small town. It's a lovely story.
Night Watch
Tristan Chisholm likes his solitude. He spends most of his time in the pastures watching over the sheep that graze on Chisholm lands. With a storm approaching, Tristan heads into his cottage but before he can relax for the day he hears a screech and sees a car that has runoff the road into the rising waters of the stream gully.
Bree Sullivan is in Scotland trying to get away from her fans. She needs to write another bestseller before they go even crazier on her, so she heads to Scotland to sort through her life. Bree loses control of her car during a storm and is saved by Tristan.
Almost immediately Tristan and Bree feel a connection to each other. Is it lust or love that keeps Bree in Tristan's arms though?
Intense desire turns to lasting love in Night Watch. It's a very romantic and passionate story. Tristan and Bree were destined to be together. Bree is searching for peace and gorgeous Scot, Tristan Chisholm is just the man to give her what she needs.
Brody, Reese and Tristan are three sexy, noble and lusty Scots! Bad Boys In Kilts is both steamy and loving. The ending is romantic but not predictable which I really liked. These Chisholm men will steal your heart with their sexy Scottish brogues and their seductive charm!

Cheesy!.......2006-06-27
I love romance novels just like any other person. However, this one went beyond romance and was annoying after a while. It sometimes read like Beavis and Butthead, "He said hard." (Insert their laughs.) There was not a lot of dialogue between characters which made the plot weak. It was mostly the characters flashing back or thinking of their desires for the other person. How can characters go from talking in their heads to jumping into bed. The characters needed to interact more in my opinion. I do not understand how businesses can stay up and running if only the same customers come? How can a business grow? I also do not understand how Bree Sullivan, famous author, charcter in Night Watch became a Diva. You do not even see J.K. Rowling on People Magazine. Wait a minute, this is fiction. I got it!
In Bottoms Up, Brodie and Kat are best friends since they were 6 years old. They can talk about anything to each other. They did not bring up the possibility of dating or taking their relationship in a different direction? All of a sudden, he gets this thought that he is playing a game for his life and his heart. Ooh, nausea is setting in! Here are some nitpicky things that I picked up on. First, Brodie apparently dated a lot of women. However, Kat and Daisy were the only single young women in the area. Who were the other women and where were they from or is this a plot inconsistency? Also, if Kat was always fearless as stated in the beginning, why was she afraid to mention her interest in Brodie?
On Tap, was an ok story. This was the story of Reese Chisholm the second eldest of the clan. The distillery is what made the Chisholm's famous. This is the business that Reese runs. I do have to wonder, if the village is not a tourist attraction why does he have a tour available? Also, there was mention of this fact in all of the three stories. Dylan the eldest brother is building a bed and breakfast on the family property. However, there is mention of the fact that there is no tourism in this remote area throughout the book. Why the inconsistency? Daisy seems to be too overwhelming for Reese. He seems like a very private man who is not into dealing with other people less than Tristan but still... Daisy is gregarious and extremely positive. She is determined to sell Reese to have her build a website to attract people to the distillery. Ok. Daisy for being so business oriented and assertive, she seems almost shy in this story yet, in Bottoms Up she was more extraverted. What is this mention that she had quickies during lunch hour? She is suddenly able to curb her sex drive?
In Night Watch, we get to meet the reclusive Tristan Chisholm. He is the youngest of all the brothers. His brothers are constantly teasing him about not having a woman in his life. He is also an artist. I enjoyed this story the most. I think it is because he is so generous. You would want to have someone like him help you in case you ever had a car accident. He made Bree very comfortable and calm.
Pros of the book: It gives a nice description of the village. You can just imagine it clearly. You also see the way the people interact especially in the pub. I did like the romances to a certain degree. I especially liked the fact that the women were strong and independent women who had their own personalities. I liked Kat because she also had an untraditional career as a mechanic. She also believed that in order for a guy to be with her that he should not need to see her in makeup and a dress. I agree. She followed her own beliefs. Bree was humble even after all of her fame. In fact, she did not like the phoniness and demands made of her. Daisy was the beautiful dreamer who wanted to overhaul her life. It takes courage, committment, and determination to do that and she did too. In addition, I liked the fact that all the characters were not tall, gorgeous, blonde, leggy women. In fact, it does mention that Kat is ordinary. I would have to say if you are looking for a book to help you escape and throw in some romance then this is your book. However, if you want a book with a little more depth try the thousands of other romance novels out there.
Cute stories; not-so-cute execution.......2006-04-27
I did enjoy parts of these stories. They hit the "I-want-something-short-and-sweet-and-not-too-complicated" spot. The problem I had was this: I have often read that writers need to show rather than tell. I don't think I've ever seen a better (or worse?) illustration of that concept. So much of these stories takes place in the characters' heads. You get entire character histories and plots explained while a hero or heroine is, for example, looking out over a bluff thinking by him- or herself. It happens to a great degree in all three stories but more so in the first, the only one where the hero and heroine have a long history. I found myself skipping page after page while one or the other sat around thinking about their history and even setting up the premise for the remaining stories. It was a mite frustrating, especially since the stories are otherwise enjoyable.
Fun brotherly Anthology from Kauffman.......2006-04-23
This is an anthology that revolves around the three of the four Chisholm brothers. These three Scottish brothers are Brodie, Reese and Tristan.
"Bottoms Up" is Brodie's tale. Brodie is a charming pub owner who dropped out of college to come back to the town he has grown up in. His best friend since grade school is Kat. Kat is one of the local mechanics and is more at home in coveralls playing darts for money than in dresses. The one exception to this is that she has loved Brodie for years, but she doesn't know what to do about it. Daisy Mac moves to town and Kat is instantly jealous of her and what she sees as Brodie paying attention to her. But, Daisy is looking for another friend her age and she and Kat hit it off. Daisy convinces Kat to let her "make her over" which leads to Brodie finally seeing her as a woman.
"On Tap" is Reese's story. Reese is a strong and opinionated man. He runs the family distillery the way he wants to and doesn't take much input from others. But, when Daisy Mac approaches him to promote the distillery on the internet he sees something else he wants more. He wants Daisy, he seem to think of anything other than that he wants her. In the end he decides to let her build the website as it will give him access to her. While both are drawn to each other it takes a while for them to act on it.
The final story is Tristan's. In "Night Watch" you meet Tristan who many in the family think is wasting his time being a sheephearder. But, he loves his job and the fact it gives him time to think and paint the local scenery. He is a serious romantic but no woman has found a way into Tristins heart. Along comes the novelist Bree Sullivan. Bree has escaped to Scotland to get away from everyone who is trying to push her to write/finish her second novel. Her first one was a huge success and now has Bree feeling like her life is so out of control that she is no longer sure what is going on. But, when a naked Tristan saves her from being stuck in a submerged car things seem to be heading in the correct direction.
Kauffman as usual writes funny and fast moving stories. She helps to put a bit of a Scottish spin on a couple of time told traditional men/women stories. The problem to me is that the stories all seemed to be rushed a bit. The wrap up seemed to be so sudden. This is an issue with most anthologies though, and is probably just me.
Bad Boys in Kilts is a "Bonnie" Hit!.......2006-04-08
Anthology featuring 3 out of the 4 Chisholm brothers. All 3 brothers are hunks and very sexual. Besides each having great stories, there is a great lead in for the 4th brother who has a tragedy in his life and will have his own book I believe next year. I will be patiently waiting for his story.
"Bottoms Up": BRODIE is very charming and owns a pub. He loves the bar-life, playing darts and flirting with the ladies, except for Kat Henderson. She is a tomboy and has always had a crush on Brodie. He comes to realize the tomboy has grown up. They have a lot of fun with the pool table and it doesnt involve only playing pool.
"On Tap": REESE runs the family distillery and has very strong opinions. Daisy MacDonnell an American shows up to promote the distillery on the internet. Reese is very taken with her and all he can think about is that he wants Daisy. He is reluctant to let her do her website thing but gives her a chance as it will give him a chance with her.
"Night Watch": TRISTAN is a sheepherder who needs to share passion with a very special woman. Enter Bree Sullivan who has come to Scotland to escape. She is a best selling novelist of ONE book and is trying to escape the reporters and people who are hounding her to produce her 2nd novel. She wants to be alone to escape everything.
She is caught in a rainstorm and stuck in her car with the real threat of drowning as car has gone over an embankment and the front is submerged into an overflown stream. Tristan, naked, comes upon her and tries to help her. She thinks this naked man is crazy and out to kill her. Her finally rescues her and she realizes he not crazy and suddenly does not want to be alone.

Customer Reviews:
One good story, Two not so good.......2007-02-04
I enjoyed Erin McCarthy's story, The Lady of the Lake. Shy school teacher Violet sees herself as undesirable. She wants to get pregnant and raise a child alone. Famous baseball star is looking for something more in his life. Their meeting and subsequent actions are fun to watch. Lori Foster's story was readable but not recommended. The guy meets her, likes her, realizes he loves her. Nothing new or interesting for me. The third story's plot and action were a little weird and concerned a sex toy room. I couldn't get into the characters very well. Readable but not recommended.
Another Hoot!!!.......2006-05-24
Yes! It's another Bad Boy anthology which once again offers the reader a fun sexy romp in three short stories by some of today's hottest romance authors.
In Lori Foster's "Playing Doctor" Dr. Axle Dean is shocked and surprised when he spots sexy Libby Preston at a party. Not exchanging names they enjoy a sizzling kiss and a little more in the garden. When he finds out Libby's secret...he hightails it out of there...only to be haunted by the memory of the time they shared. Imagine his surprise when he walks into his treatment room and finds her sitting there. Life has just gotten a little more complicated. Will these two find a happy ending?
In Erin McCarthy's "The Lady of the Lake" Kindergarten teacher Violet Caruthers thinks she's found the perfect man to be the father of the baby she's always wanted. Well, this is until she falls off of his boat...while dressed in a bikini, and left behind. Things look like they are only going to get worse...until she is rescued by baseball hottie Dylan Diaz. These two people are about to find out that things are not always as they appear and there is fun in finding red hot attraction where you least expect to find it.
In HelenKay Dimon's "Hardhats and Silk Stockings" Whit Thomas has the unfortunate luck of tangling with Hannah Bridges...one of the most frustrating women ever created. Too bad he also suffers from a twisted burning attraction for her. Imagine his surprise when opportunity hands Hannah over to him for one night of no hold bar pleasure. Will they walk away from what they find...or will they grab and hold it with both hands?
All three stories are sexy fun reads with entertaining characters. This is a perfect "vacation" read that offers some really "Bad Boys" who finally meet their match! Falling in love should be so much fun!
Love those Bad Boys!.......2006-04-09
Playing Doctor: Axel Dean is a sexy physician devoted to staying single and enjoying the company of as many women as he can. He's happy that his brother Booker and his best friend Cary have found love, but he wants no part of it. But what he does want is a night or two with the lovely and delectable young woman who catches his eye at a formal affair he attends. Going down the path of temptation, Axel can't remember the last time he wanted this much, and she seems to feel the same way. Overcome with lust, Axel is ensnared in her sensual web until he learns of her innocence. Stubbornly refusing to break his own rules, he regretfully walks away....only to meet up with the lovely Libby Preston again in an unexpected manner. This time turning her down is no longer an option, and Axel realizes that some rules are made to be broken, especially when they lead to love.
Lori Foster creates some of the sexiest alpha males around. They may be determined to live footloose and fancy-free, but once they fall in love, no woman can resist all that intense concentration and incredible passion. She also writes about some of the most innocent yet responsible heroines, and I love the complete honesty in her characters. One gets the sense that these are traits that Lori values very highly, and she captures those qualities so well. Her stories are about honorable people who make mistakes but who don't back down from their responsibilities or from their families. A very traditional outlook that Lori manages to keep fresh and entertaining. She is an auto-buy author for me.
Lady In the Lake: Shy school teacher Violet Caruthers is so forgettable that when she falls off her soon-to-be-ex-boyfriend's boat into the lake, he doesn't even realize she's gone. Thankfully she's soon rescued by sexy baseball player Dylan Diaz, who is instantly captivated by this shy, honest and sexy woman. All he can think about is how much he wants to take her to bed, but Violet is not like one of his groupies, thank God, and getting her there is going to take more than a persuasive smile. Fortunately for him, he has something she wants, and soon they both see stars. Dylan realizes he's found what's been missing in his fast-paced glamorous life, and Violet realizes that she's not so forgettable after all, at least not by the man who loves her.
Oh my gosh, I completely fell in love with Dylan. Sweet and sexy and oh, so wicked, he is the perfect match for reserved, maternal Violet. Erin McCarthy writes such funny, sexy stories, and she also has her own strong voice and style that is her trademark. She is one of my all-time favorite authors - it is amazing and wonderful how she keeps outdoing herself in her writing. Her humor is honest, and she says what other people only think about - this makes it extremely easy to relate to her characters right from the start. If you have not read a story by Erin McCarthy, well, what are you waiting for???
Hardhats and Silk Stockings: Contractor Hannah Bridges is bound and determined to prove herself to her family and step away from the blue-collar stigma she grew up with. She doesn't have time for the irresistible yet exasperating Whit Thomas in her life. But Whit has other plans, and they all have to do with Hannah. He's very attracted to her, and deep down knows she feels the same way but she can't let go. He decides to help her out with that by giving her a night of passion, no strings, no regrets. Things are going really well until Hannah catches on to him. Now Whit has to prove to her that their night of pleasure was not just a notch on his bedpost, but just the beginning of something really wonderful.
This is HelenKay Dimon's first story, and it was rather enjoyable. I did have a problem with all the interruptions the couple had to deal with - jarred me out of the story and made me groan in frustration because I didn't feel that it added to the scene, at least not every single time it occurred. Instead it led to too many misunderstandings. I felt the characters were not given enough time together to really work on their relationship, and that bothered me. HelenKay had a great concept and I enjoyed her writing, just not how some of the scenes were handled. I do think she has a lot of potential to tell some really amazing stories, so I will definitely give her stories another chance.
Another excellent anthology.......2006-04-08
When Good Things Happen To Bad Boys has three sizzling, sexy and hilarious stories.
Playing Doctor by Lori Foster has nursing student Libby Preston catching the eyes of sexy doctor Axel Dean. Their first meeting has sparks flying between them but Axel panics when he realizes Libby's inexperience. Libby and Axel's next meeting will have you laughing your head off. It's priceless. Libby though young has had to grow up fast and is delightful match for Axel. Watching Axel realizes this woman is it for him is a treat. This romance is witty, spicy and deliciously hot.
Erin McCarthy's Lady Of The Lake has poor heroine Violet Caruthers being dumped accidentally into a lake and her boyfriend not noticing she is gone. Dylan Diaz rescues her and can't believe that any man would not miss this gorgeous woman. As they get to know each other, Dylan agrees to help Violet conceive a child. What starts out as a one-time deal ends up being the real deal. Dylan and Violet's story is laugh out loud funny as well as sizzling sexy.
Hardhats and Silk Stockings is a stunning debut by HelenKay Dimon. Hannah Bridges has a major chip on her shoulder, she has had to prove herself every day of her life. Contractor Hannah isn't going to let wickedly handsome Whit Thomas the architect distract her. But Whit has a plan to get underneath Hannah's skin to the real woman she hides from everyone. Their chemistry is explosive and delightful. This is an enchanting, fast paced, tantalizing story.
When Good Things Happen To Bad Boys has three exceptional stories. It's the complete package, funny, sexy and brazen. Gotta love those bad boys.
fun Bad Boys anthology .......2006-03-30
"Playing Doctor" by Lori Foster. Dr. Axel Dean likes self-assured, sensual, and sexy women in his bed. Though the kisses of his peer Dr. Libby Preston rush blood to his lower head, he prefers experience while she is a trainee who has chosen Axel to deflower her. He wants to just say no, but Libby makes offers that even a bad boy can't refuse.
"The Lady of the Lake" by Erin McCarthy. Pro baseball player Dylan Diaz rescues a woman from drowning in a lake, bringing her onto his boat. However, instead of insuring she is okay, he feels an overwhelming almost obsessive need to make love to kindergarten teacher Violet Caruthers. Even when she makes him laugh, which is often, his desire for her grows. She, on the other hand uses her role as a prim and proper teacher to disguise the fact that she may just give in to her attraction to her rescuer.
"Hardhats and Silk Stockings" by HelenKay Dimon. Architect Whit Thomas wonders if God is punishing him by making him a modern day Job. He wants to make love to contractor Hannah Bridges, but she rejects his advances as she spends her time proving she is as good as the boys. Whit knows he must discuss the project with Hannah, but he can only think of making passionate love with her even if it means using the blueprints as a mat.
The latest Bad Boys anthology contains three delightful fun tales. In each case, the male is frustrated by his desires for a woman who seems virginal, yet sexy and sensual. Fans of the series will enjoy these women enticing their hunks.

Taking the Heat Down Under.......2005-06-17
Sizzling in Sydney -
Cameron Crane wants to take his Australian surf and boogie board business to the American market.
His American marketing company sends their best, Jennifer Talbot, a marketing guru.
Jennifer may be engaged to someone else but Cameron feels the heat ... and nothing stops Cameron from trying, after all it's not the first time he's talked someone into his bed .....
Jenn has her eye on cornering the market, not Cam - and she is focused. Trouble is, so is he ... on her!
Surfer Boy
Hunky Steve Jackson is no professional model but has been hired to provide a bit of Aussie realism to the Americal campaign for Crane Surf and Boogie Boards. A hard working Aussie guy, Steve acts like he's in the States to party and bed women! (Well, daa.)
Turning their Australian surfer boy into a product spokesman is going to take a lot of work.
Hard working Lise Atwater is given the dream job of handling the advertising campaign - trouble is she wants to handle Steve!
It's ridiculous, she should be concentrating on the advertisign campaign - not the Aussie hunk!
The Great Barrier
Mark Forsythe, a balanced, new age sensitive guy was dumped by his fiancée Jennifer, for Cameron Crane.
Well no more Mister Nice Guy. He'll show everyone - even himself - he can be bad with the best of them!
He's helping handle the Crane account - he's bigger than a broken engagement and he'll show Jennifer and everyone else! He is going to party down under !!
Only problem, he isn't quite sure how to start.....
On his first night, the novice bad boy ends up passed out in Bronwyn Spencer's bed.
She has an agenda of her own.
He thinks he HAS started being "bad" ..... and Bronwyn's happy to let Mark think they've shared a night of passion so hot, he's got to experience it again.
And she has every intention of showing the "good" Mark know just how delicious a walk on the wild side can be, if you're willing to put your heart into it...
Turn up the heat and get ready for three of the hottest bad boys from both sides of the Altantic...
Foster & Kauffman Great - Warren So-So...........2004-01-09
FOSTER: I loved the characters in this story. Sam was arrogant, yet adorably so; very realistic personality. What kept his feelings for Ariel under wraps was her age - only 24, to his 36. I was glad the author didn't try to make Ariel a "mature-for-her-age" type woman. She left Ariel as she truly was, a delightful, spunky, vulnerable young woman who was young enough to still want to stomp her foot, yet old enough to know exactly what she wanted out of life. What a great story!
KAUFFMAN: This story captivated me from the beginning. British mogul Dominic had it all; great looks, wealth, and good health. And he fell in love with Callie, an almost "mousy" woman, who had nothing really going for her except possibly her job, wherein she did most of the work without due compensation. Dominic was a very classy, elegant guy with great sex appeal. He was perfection, indeed.
WARREN: For some reason, Wes and Nell's story didn't hold up to the first two stories. It was an okay read, but in no way did these characters and the story capture my attention.
i like the bad boys series,.......2003-09-15
i am a big fan of this series and enjoy all of the books connected with it. if you are a fan of this writer this book should be high on your list to check out.
They're Baaaack..........2003-07-20
If you haven't read one of the great books by this writer (Lori Foster) then why not start with, BAD BOYS ON BOARD? I had a lot of fun with this one and I know you will too.
I didn't know I liked bad boys.......2003-06-12
I picked up "Bad Boys on Board" at random. I don't like to read the back of books to know what happens, but I also don't like spending time and money on a lousy book; so when I enter a book store, I pick up any book that looks good without reading the fine print. Lori Foster and her co-authors made this book into an adventure that could be read instead of stories to be told. You get to know the characters and their desires as people. In return, you look deeper in your own thoughts and contemplate the idea of you yourself having a desire that you didn't realize you had or could have.
Book Description
Most people think that poor communication is the reason why so many relationships end, but it's actually the way we learn to think about our partners and our problems that kills trust, erodes intimacy, and cripples communication. In Why Can't You Read My Mind?, psychologist Jeffrey Bernstein reveals-for the first time-the nine toxic thought patterns at work in virtually every relationship, and shows couples how these distorted, negative, exaggerated thoughts can poison their love and end their union. With warmth and wisdom, Bernstein offers a simple yet powerful approach for breaking the toxic thinking cycle and helps readers establish new and more positive thinking habits for solving their problems and dealing with the stresses of everyday life. Packed with practical advice and valuable insights, Why Can't You Read My Mind? makes it possible for couples to remain in or return to loving relationships permanently, and points the way toward finding a truer kind of love with one another for the first time. Perfect for couples wanting to maintain their loving relationship as well as for those working to restore their love, this book provides the missing link, enabling couples to beat the relationship odds and sustain a long-term relationship.

excellent title!!.......2007-08-10
This book is really helpful and right on target. It seems so many people try to have magical mind reading abilities and this book helps to sort that fantasy out!! Particularly useful to give to others to read as a gift!!
Changed my life .......2006-08-26
This is the most amazing book I have ever stumbled across. It not only gave me a new perspective on love and relationships but I was able to incorporate the logic of it into all areas of my life. I've recommended it to friends left and right. This is definitely a must read.
This Book Saved My Marriage! .......2006-04-20
Before we found this book, my husband and I were highly discourgaged and didn't think there were any solutions to repair our miserable relationship. All I can say is that this book finally stopped us from resenting and blaming each other for the crumbling of our marriage. I had seen Dr. Bernstein on the Today Show a while ago when they had a segment on toxic relationships and I remembered the title, Why Can't You Read My Mind? This book helped us to understand and appreciate each other in ways we never have before. I only wish that I had bought it before our relationship got so bad. My advice is don't wait till the 11th hour to read this outstanding book.
Best relationship book I've read.......2005-06-05
I buy far too many self help books but this one was the most practical and eye opening regarding how one can develop destructive patterns of relating to your partner (or anyone, for that matter) and how perception plays a key role in all of negative and irrational behavior. He give practical methods for countering these irrational thoughts and thus have a better relationship with both your partner and yourself. I really needed this book and feel it may lead me to finally have a successful relationship leading to a happy marriage. My irrational thoughts and behavior have so often sabotaged me in my relationships up to this point. I highly recommend this book!
Very eye-opening!!.......2005-03-05
This book really makes you take a look at how you are contributing to the problems in your relationship, I found myself saying "wow, i do that"....A LOT. For me, and i would guess most people when they are having relationship problems get to a point where they think they have done everything they can to fix it....when really we do just the opposite. I always considered myself extremely giving and open and my partner totally selfish, and reading this book made me realize how selfish i am. I think this book is a great tool for looking at our own behavior..Also, it gives plenty of great examples and ways to improve.

MJD story rocks, the others... not so much.......2007-03-08
Other reviewers have rehashed and summarized this anthology many times over. I was swept away by the James Bond gender bender in "The World is Not Big Enough". It might be one of my favorite short stories from MaryJanice Davidson EVAH.
Its been three days since I read it and can barely recall what the other stories were about. Three stars because the other two didn't have the staying power, "World..." gets a 5 star on its own.
Sumptuous.......2006-07-10
A collection of three romantic stories; the boys do play with expensive toys. The first has an extravagant spoilt dog. The second is with lavish gadgets. The third is a prospect of a multimillion computer program. In the third story, the woman is actually the rich one, owning stores all around the world. The second tale is James-Bond-ish. The first involves an appealing French figure. The similarity between the three stories - they are all hot and bothered on the same subject. Also, all the men are over six feet. And, all the women are beautiful, possessing flat abdomens. A fast read on a lazy Sunday.
Bad Boys with Bad Plots.......2005-02-15
As a general rule, I do not read romance novels. I have, on occasion and at the request of friends, read some historical romance novels, and I did find those entertaining. I prefer a book with a few more brains in the binding, so to speak, something with intellectual layers and levels, and I expect this from all the books I read. If you enjoy a shallow book with no higher levels than what you see on the page, then you may like BAD BOYS WITH EXPENSIVE TOYS.
This book contains three novellas: "The Fourteen Million Dollar Poodle" by Nancy Warren, "The World Is Too Darned Big" by MaryJanice Davidson, and "Anything You Can Do..." by Karen Kelley.
In "The Fourteen Million Dollar Poodle," Warren tells the story of Vince "Bulldog" Granger, a tough guy living in New York, who inherits his eccentric aunt's pampered French poodle Mimi. His wealthy aunt also wills her entire estate to Mimi, which in turn will go to him, but only after the dog dies of natural causes. This clearly does not sit well with Vince's greedy cousins, foreshadowing some plot twists towards the end of the story. Vince has trouble caring for Mimi, who only understands French and who is accustomed to a more refined living than a New York bachelor can provide her. After becoming acquainted with Sophie Veneau, a pretty French nanny, Vince decides to hire her to dog-sit Mimi. Sophie and Vince become romantically involved, and with the help of Sir Galahad, a stray doberman, they must protect Mimi from a sinister plot that would end her life.
The characters in this story are extremely flat and stereotyped roles; the dialogue is dull and cliché. The poodle and the doberman reflect the main characters Vince and Sophie in personality, which strikes me as very appropriate. The plot is rather predictable. The setting, while realistic, is not detailed, and only serves as a venue for this tedious story to unfold. Even the sex scenes are dull and boring. There really is no theme to this story, other than perhaps whether it is ethical and legal to will an estate to a dog, or to give said dog a Cartier diamond-encrusted collar and leash.
Davidson's "The World Is Too Darned Big," while a slightly more interesting story-line than the previous one, is extremely unrealistic and unbelievable. Benjamin Dyson is a technology geek working for the CIA whose current project is a skeleton key card. Tara Marx enters his life, a bad-ass freelance agent who informs Dyson that his last project was not for the CIA, but for a group of bad guys posing as the CIA. Dyson and Marx track down the agents at the Mayo clinic, where there is a show-down, and find some time for canoodling together.
This novella is more interesting than the last simply because the characters are not as flat. While their emotions are very stereotyped, their personalities have some dimension that adds interest to the story. Still, the setting and the plot are very unrealistic. The bad guys are very non-lethal, and their motives are just silly.
The final story, "Anything You Can Do...," is to me the most interesting of the three stories. Alex Cannedy is a notorious playboy spending time in Las Vegas. At his sister Lisa's wedding reception, the attractive Kagen Yates, a wealthy interior decorator, catches his eye. Lisa has given Alex the keys to her apartment to house-sit while she is away on her honeymoon, and so he will have a quiet place to work on his big computer project. She is unaware that her husband Steve has also given an apartment key to his friend Kagen, so that she can decorate the apartment for the couple while they are gone. Meanwhile, Lisa finds out about Alex's interest in Kagen, and she makes him pinkie swear not to seduce her, since Kagen has been hurt in relationships in the past. When Kagen and Alex learn that they are sharing an apartment for the week, Kagen decides she will seduce the attractive Alex, and Alex tries his best to keep his promise to his sister.
The plot is relatively interesting, out-lining a game of seduction in a rather funny way that does a good job at building tension. In fact, this is actually a good story up to a certain point in the plot when the tension breaks, at which point you may as well put down the book and not spoil what you have just read. A series of sexual interludes become more and more contrived and pathetic, and the plot-line nose-dives into the same state as the other stories. The characters are slightly more interesting and dimensional than those in the other stories, and some interesting themes do emerge from this story: Is it right to set limits on someone else's love life? Is it better to avoid the possibility of getting hurt in a relationship than to jump head-in? Does a pinkie swear count if it doesn't involve spit?
All three stories sound as if they could have been written by the same person. There is nothing new or exciting about the language, characters, or story-line. On the contrary, they are very clichéd and contrived, and I am sorry to have wasted time on them. If, however, you enjoy a books on a third-grade reading level with some soft-core erotic scenes that require no exercise of the mind, then this is the book for you.
A sizzling erotic romance.......2004-12-04
The Fourteen Million Dollar Poodle by Nancy Warren. Labor negotiator Vince Grange is known for playing hardball; thus he is the last male anyone would expect to own a toy poodle. However, he inherits wealthy Mimi, who only responds to French-speaking commands. Vince hires Sophie Veneau to watch Mimi, but he can't keep his eyes off of his new employee. This amusing contemporary stars three delightful protagonists with the human pair in constant heat.
The World Is Too Darned Big by MaryJanice Davidson. Dr. Ben Dyson invents espionage paraphernalia that helps agents make the world safer. His fondest desire is to use one of his gizmos in a field scenario. When agent Tara Marx struggles to recover stolen intelligence information, she never expected to have a civilian as her partner. This spy who stayed hot in the cold tale is humorous and hot due two strong gender bending lead characters.
Anything You Can Do by Karen Kelley. Playboy Alex Cannedy promised his sister that he would not make a play to get Kagen Yates in his bed for the week that the beautiful woman is staying with him. Alex regrets his vow as he wants her and she seems as willing, but he plans to do the honorable thing by adhering to his pledge. However, Kagen bets him that she will have him in bed within two days as their desires for one another will overwhelm his misplaced ethics. The torrid lead couple provides readers with a terrific war of the sex's tale.
All three novellas are hot, jocular and fun as the hunks exchange their toys for more interesting play things.

A hot and steamy read.......2004-11-23
Bad Boys With Expensive Toys has three hot and steamy stories by three favorite authors.
The Fourteen Million Dollar Poodle by Nancy Warren has Vince Grange a tough and manly labor negotiator who inherits a rich toy poodle. This poodle only answers to French, so Vince hires a nanny. Sophie Veneau agrees to watch Mimi, but her owner Vince is make her heart race. Vince is having serious problems with Sophie he wants her for himself. Nancy Warrens story is funny and sexy, it's a must read.
MaryJanice Davidson's The World Is Too Darned Big has Dr. Ben Dyson wishing he could use the fancy spy gadgets he makes to help safe the world. He gets his chance when spy Tara Marx falls into his willing lap. Tara Marx is working to retrieve some stolen Intel. She wasn't planning on a spy wannabe helping. Ben and Tara's wit and passion will make you laugh and swoon. MaryJanice delivers another story that will tickle your funny bone and steam up your night.
Karen Kelley's in Anything You Can Do... has playboy Alex Cannedy being a roommate for a week with the one woman he promised not to touch. He promised his sister that he would not make a move on her new hubby's best friend Kagen Yates. But all bets are off when Kagen throws a dare that Alex can't last 48 hours before he gives in to his desires. What follows is an amusing and sexy game of one upmanship. Alex and Kagen are a hot and titillating couple.
This is a fun and sexy anthology, you can't go wrong it getting it.

Meltdown A+.......2007-02-20
I bought the book because I love Shannon Mckenna books. Her stories are never a let down! It has everything! The other stories are ok.
McKenna great, Kauffman ok, Sheedy no........2007-02-14
I rated McKenna's story, Meltdown, as 5 - I loved it. I was laughing out loud several times. Great characters, good plot. It's one of the stories that I periodically think about when doing other things. I would recommend buying the book just for the McKenna story.
I rated Kauffman's story, Exposed, as 3 - for an ok read. Characters were ok. Didn't care much for the plot. There was too much analyzing of feelings.
I rated Sheedy's story, Pure Ginger, as 2 - did not like it. I did not respect Ginger's judgment by dressing so much like an old spinster, that it was inappropriate for her work. The author created conflict by having the guy leave on a business trip without telling her. Not worth reading.
Mixed Bag - two very good, one horrible.......2006-09-18
I've read every bad boys anthology out there and this one has two very good stories and one that is just horrible. McKenna has let me down once again and I don't think I'll ever read anything by her anymore. Her stuff is slightly disturbing and doesn't belong with any of the other authors I've read in the other anthologies.
McKenna's story is about a Jane Duvall, head hunter, who is out to land a big account by stealing/wooing away any employee of Mac MacNamara's. That is until she meets him and all bets are off. The sexual tension crackles and soon her job is the last thing on mind.
Kauffman steams it up with a couple of strangers stuck on a train in a blizzard. Soon the storms over and the strangers part, but will it be the end? Can they go back to their jobs and pretend this was just a train trist? Or do they dare want more?
Sheedy's heroine's on a mission, to 'beige-up' her wardrobe and stop wearing those sexy outfits that keep attracting the wrong kind of men. With her PR firm she meets the sexy ex-soap star hero who can see right through her librarian clothes. Just getting her out of them and into his arms maybe a tough battle.
Koudos to Sheedy and Kauffman for two very good and *HOT* stories as usual. I especially liked Kauffman's romantic ending -very touching.
Now to McKenna. Her stuff is just down-right disturbing. She takes male domineering a bit too far. As she did in a previous anothology I've read, the hero tends to prevent the female from leaving and makes her 'submit' to him. Yeah, she gets her *pleasure*, but bullying her *ALOT*?. YUCK! The demands the hero makes are too much and it leaves the reader feeling creeped-out instead of steemed-up and sighing. The love scenes are too soon too, barley any build-up compared to the other's I've read. That's not what I want from my romances. I'm not a prude, but I just can't see what other reviewers are calling steamy when it involves some disturbing behavior.
Get this one from the library and skip McKenna's story.
For an excellent Bad Boys Anthology try: Bad Boys in Black Tie
Write Faster Shannon!.......2006-08-28
I love everything Shannon McKenna writes! Whoohoo, can she create a sexy character! (and write one helluva love scene-wow!) I just wish she'd write faster...
All three of these stories were great and I now have 2 more great authors to read too.
Great Bad Boys Book!.......2006-07-13
This is one of my favorites of the 'Bad Boys' books. The first story by Shannon McKenna was great! I love her style of writing and the characters in her books. The other 2 stories were very good also. I enjoyed reading all three stories, and certainly this book will not disappoint.
Book Description
For this updated third edition of their book, Alfred Gingold and Helen Rogan have revisted old haunts and added newly discovered cool things to do in the coolest city in the world. Among the familiar favorites: Winnie-the-Pooh and friends (as lovable as ever), Grand Central Station (it's fabulous), the Police Museum (scary stuff), the Lower East Side Tenement Museum (great for families). Fabulous additions include: Staten Island's Fort Wadsworth (real cannons!), the Rexplex skate park (it's next to Ikea), and the New York Turtle and Tortoise Society Annual Show (wild and crazy!).

The Ultra Cool Parents Guide to NYC.......2000-10-30
I just returned from a week+ trip to NYC with my 9 year old and I thought that this book was very helpful. The authors describe a number of day trips to take with your child, including dining suggestions. It gives you lots of things to do in a small area and in NYC that is VERY important. I liked the notes on how to get to places on the subway and the small maps that pointed out the location of each thing they suggested for that "trip". As an out-of-towner what I found most helpful were the tips on kid friendly restaurants. There are a millions places to eat in NYC and it was nice to go to places that had been kid tested and enjoyed by adults.
Book Description
The men who can't be tamed reveal their wicked ways in this contemporary erotic romance anthology. I Love Bad Boys explores the forbidden and passionate world of the bad boys who elicit unbridled desire--and the good girls who would do anything to have them.
Customer Reviews:
Fun read.......2007-04-17
Of the three stories, I enjoyed the first (Indulge Me) and third (And When They Were Bad) the most and give them 4 stars. In the second story (Naughty By Night), the girl's actions annoyed me. She was mean in the way she treated him for three nights. I give that story 3 stars. Indulge Me is part of an excellent series that would have been nicer if published together in one book. The series is about three girls who are friends and work together in a factory. The group decides that each one of them must visit a nearby porn shop and make a date with a guy they meet there. The girls didn't know it in advance, but the three guys who met the girls at the porn shop knew about it before hand and had planned to be there to make the first date. The 1st story is called Satisfy Me (part of the book: All Through The Night") about a girl named Asia. The 2nd story is Indulge Me (here) about Becky. The 3rd story is Drive Me Wild (part of the book: I Brake For Bad Boys) about Erica. Sexual content: strong.
Simply Sexy.......2006-09-14
I had originally got this because I had read Bad Boys Online...this was a wonderful anthology of stories. Each one had its on seperate plot and theme but they all had a common theme that was great fun to read. I would recommend this book to a firend in a heart beat!
feeling HOT....HOT....HOT.......2006-02-05
This book is hot from start to finish. Have a cold drink and a fan ready before you sit down and indulge in the book. All three stories are great. Although, I would have loved for all of the stories to be longer.

Lori Foster's characterizations=too shallow for me.......2003-10-03
This anthology definitely had some entertaining/sexy moments. My least favorite story was the first one "Indulge Me" by Lori Foster. The only character who wasn't painfully one-dimensional was Becky. I'd say she had about one and a half dimensions. The portrayal of Becky's supposedly closest friends was ridiculous. Asia and Erica existed as nothing more than cardboard cut-outs who walked on stage for some bad oneliners, and then walked off (literally still giggling at their un-witty repartee).
Also, Erica continues flirting and making blatant sexual innuendos with the man Becky's building a relationship with--even after she sees how upset it's making Becky. Hello??! What kind of "best friend" is this? Yet as the reader, it's clear (because Foster beats us over the head with it relentlessly) that we're supposed to regard Erica as the tough-as-nails sassy modern woman. No, I call her a pathetically selfish, hurtful person. And I'm afraid no amount of un-funny oneliners can save her.
But with the exception of Lori Foster's irritating and shallow tale, the other stories in this anthology did succeed as sexy, escapist fun.
Liked first and last.......2003-09-16
All three stories were steamy. The first and third had something of a storyline and a sense of humor.
IMHO Janelle Denison should stick with historical romances- the male character actually uses the word 'vixen'.
