I Feel Let Down.......2007-07-20
I really wanted to know the identity of the stalker and more about how the three brothers got this way. These guys are just too twisted. I'm sorry that my curiosity got the best of me and kept me buying these books because I wouldn't consider this a "love" story.
Maybe the third but not the best.......2007-06-03
Heather James job is to protect Sam August. Sam doesn't want Heather to protect him, he just wants her. The danger is closing in the August brother's and Heather is finding herself caught in the crossfire. "Men of August: Heather's Gift" is the third and final book in the series by Lora Leigh and while I did enjoy this book it just wasn't as good as the first two book. Overall while the series was good Heather's gift could have been better.
can't get better than lora leigh.......2006-11-04
oh my God! this book is soooo good as is the entire Men of August series from Lora Leigh. This book is the third book in the series and continues the story from the first two. i love the fact that these books actually have a good story line to them and not just sex, sex, sex (although there is plenty of that and boy is it HOT!!!). You really feel for the characters and can't wait to learn more about them and i love the mystery concept that is threaded through the whole series and culminates in Heathers Gift. If I had to pick only one author to read it would be Lora Leigh. Her books are excellently written and real spellbinders.
That's not sexy!!! That's creepy!!!.......2006-09-08
think about the premise, it's not only creepy, it's just wrong. The August brothers were sexually abused and victimized as young men and now the only way they can feel complete love from a woman is together. I know, I know it's total backwoods Jerry Springer crap!!! I really don't like books like this. Ones that have a racier theme or kink and wrap it up with a bow and call it "fufilling" or "complete love". Where I come from having a threesome or foursome with your brothers is just disturbed!!! And the women in story just buy into this warped way of thinking. I don't know about other ladies but if a guy I was dating suggested this; there would be a me shaped hole in the door, and burnt rubber in the driveway!!
Lora Leigh Fan.......2006-06-08
I just wanted to say I really enjoyed this series as I have all her books so far. My problem is now I walk around looking for these beautiful looking men (laughing). Oh well moving on to my next series. GREAT READ

Beauty.......2007-09-26
This book is both lovely to look at and to read - it was a wonderful gift that our expecting friends adored, as I am sure their baby boy will for years to come.
Great for intro. to Greek Mythology.......2007-08-16
I bought this book for my 5 year old and she absolutely loves it! The stories contain just enough detail to interest her, but not overwhelm her.
Greek Myths.......2007-08-05
This is a good introduction to Greek Myths for kids. The myths are short and easy to follow. My daughter is six and she frequently requests this book for her bedtime reading.
Bedtime read.......2007-07-20
My almost 5 year old daughter loves the stories in this book. She gives it her undivided attention and always wants to read the next story.
Get them started early.......2006-08-21
This is a great book for the 6 - 10 age group. Younger kids may need some bits explained "Mummy, what's a gorgon?" And older kids will already know these popular myths and can go on to more advanced translations. The illustrations are simple and effective with a different border theme for each story. My only gripe is that not all the characters were drawn, mostly they were but some like Helen and Narcissus weren't. The language is age appropriate and the stories move along at a lively pace. Be warned Heracles and Odysseus will require three or four bedtimes to get through.
Book Description
This collection of letters from across the United States written in each child's own hand, offers active duty soldiers and veterans and their families comfort, reassurance, and a delightful dose of humor.

This collection of letters was both colorful in its words and in its pictures. Whether children are asking our soldiers to please come home safe, what guns they use in Iraq, or telling them about the pets they have in their homes, these children are all very aware of what is going on in Iraq; they know they are there fighting for our freedom and risking their necks to do it.
As you turn the pages, taking a look into each child's perception of the war, and learning what questions they desire to ask of our soldiers, you'll notice you have an array of emotions. Laughter is not a stranger as you read through these letters, especially when you read something like "how do you take a bath?" or "I have lots of friends here. Some are tall like a house, and some are short, but I like them anyways." Other times you feel your heart wrench at how considerate some of the letters are; "Try not to get hurt, ok? One thing the earth doesn't need is more hurt people." Or "You make me confident in everything. You make me feel safe in what I do." Statements like these are raw and real emotions that children are pouring out in their letters to these men and women in Iraq.
It is so inspiring in reading about the concerns children can possess for people they don't even know, as well as the innocence of a child when they ask the most simple of questions because they are truly interested in what type of food these men and women like to eat, and where they live, and what they do in their spare time when they are not being soldiers.
I found myself laughing on one letter, and crying on the next. Not only is this book a compilation of letters to our soldiers, I believe it is also a small piece of the positive side of life; an inside scoop into a child's creative mind as it spills over onto the letters with which they write; "I hope this letter from me will make you feel at home. I hope this letter will make you feel a little less scared. ...Whoever gets this letter, please don't die. If you do die with my letter so that will let the world know that I care for each and every one of you out there in the war."
I think Tim, says it best in his letter when he says "if you get hurt, make sure you get to a doctor!"
A warm tribute filled with children's sincerity.......2007-06-05
"I pray for you every night before I go to bed."
While volunteering to assemble care packages for our troops serving in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, Barbara Warfield Baldwin and her daughters came across heartfelt and compelling letters to the troops from local children that served to brighten the Baldwins' days. Dear Soldier is the compilation of many of these letters and pictures.
Meant to uplift the troops' spirits as well as boost the morale of the general public, Dear Soldier will have you reading out loud to whomever is in the room. The honesty and sincerity of kids is great. With phrases like "I hope that yall find that Osama Bin ladin," and "My brother says that he wants to be in the war. I'm thinking I might join him," you can see why these letters mean so much to our troops. And with lines like, "you might think I'm stupid but I made it to forth grade so I make A's and B's, so there," you can't help but laugh and share.
These letters and drawings are photocopied so you don't only get to read them, but see the handwriting and erase marks. Seeing what is important to the children as they were writing is precious. My primary criticism is that for some reason a couple of letters were repeated in the compilation. But don't let that sway you.
Armchair Interviews says: This is a great book to give as a gift, especially to our serving troops.
just precious!.......2007-02-19
I saw this book in the store, read part of it...and cried..lol. This is one of the most precious things I have ever seen! As an Army wife, and a soon to be teacher, I got this book to use at home and in the classroom. AMAZING!
Such a Great Little Book.......2007-02-16
I bought five copies to hand out to several military units. They are morale boosters. Those kids are awesome and so endearing. Thanks doesn't do justice the range of emotion their letters caused.
Awesom book.......2007-01-01
This is such a wonderful book and as vet of Viet Nam War I really appreciate the authors for doing this book. Whether we support the war or not we need to make sure the veterans aren't treated awful like many from my generation were. These are brave men and women who are at war to help keep our country free. I personally do support the war and President Bush's efforts to defeat the terroists. I have been involved helping veterans over 30 years.

I love cats, I love painted cats and I love the books by Burton Silver & Heather Busch.
This is a collection of postcards which I wrote to my friends. They all loved them as well.
Why buy Famous Painted Cats.......2006-06-09
What a disappointment. When my "book" came I discovered it was actually a bunch of postcards bound together. It might make a good gift for a cat lover, but it was disappointing to me that it wasn't what I was expecting. Nowhere did I find any mention of postcards.

Lines make it easy for little kids.......2007-01-16
This one, and the Wizard of Oz one are prelined on the scratch pages, which makes it much easier for little kids. It is very difficult to tell which ones have lines - I think it is only the ones marked for ages for and up.

Nothing cuter than named goldfish.......2007-07-09
When I first saw this stationary set I knew I must have it. Not only was it fish themed, but it was just so darn cute. On the pages and envelopes are some of the friendliest looking goldfish and each has a name. To me that just give it all more character. The colors are all pleasing and not so bold that something as simple as pencil would not show on them.
I know I will run out of these quickly and will probably have to buy another set soon. I love this almost too much to even write on it!

Review: How Do You Know He's Real?.......2007-06-14
In the book, How Do You Know He's Real, you'll get an inside look into the spiritual lives of 34 celebrities. Hagberg has compiled testimonies ranging from Kirk Cameron to Rudy Sarzo (former bass player for Ozzy Osbourne). Each story is remarkably different and it's amazing to read how God has worked in the lives of each of these well-known people.
Celebrities Share Their Christian Faith.......2007-05-31
The author has collected very readable stories telling how celebrities have become Christians, and they share their low points and their joys here. This is a welcome peek into the lives of well known people who typically are more secretive.
Ricky Skaggs, Kirk Cameron, Gloria Gaynor, Bethel Johnson (34 people in all) tell about their struggles and their early days as new Christians.
Billy Ray Cyrus tells of singing in his grandpa's Pentecostal church when he was 4, and includes the touching lyrics to the song he wrote "The other side."
Jackie (Jacklyn) Zeman, star of General Hospital, advises that when you are at a crossroads "cry out to God and ask for His guidance."
Al Kasha's story resonated with me; this Academy Award winning songwriter overcame agoraphobia, and talks about how Hollywood is a tough place for a Jew who came to Christ, and how he started a Hollywood Bible study group.
There are stories here for anyone to enjoy and find spirit lifting.
Celebrities talk about God in their life.......2007-04-27
(Hagberg has written a companion book with the same title, subtitled God Unplugged)
How Do You Know He's Real? is a collection of celebrity essays about God acting in their lives. The contributors include athletes, musicians, and actors. Their stories often follow a familiar pattern of fame leading to drugs and alcohol before hitting bottom and being turned around by an encounter with God. That's not to say the accounts are all stock and cliched, but rather that God meets each person in their need--and for celebrities that need will be similar. And many of the tales include growing up in stable Christian homes, but still needing to make personal decisions about God and Christ and how that decision impacted their careers.
The stories are collected alphabetically but Hagberg has provided a topic finder so a reader battling discouragement or frustration can find offerings from Billy Ray Cyrus, Nancy Stafford, Zorro, Gary Burghoff or John Schneider.
Each essay begins with a picture and short biography of the contributor, listing their accomplishments. Following the selection is God's Road Map, a few sentences about the issues raised by the author, with Bible verses for teaching and encouragement.
The essays themselves are as varied as the contributors. Some of them read as if they were written to be given as speeches. Several sound like the writer could be sitting at your kitchen table, chatting over the coffee pot. All of them are honest and share from their heart how God has acted in their life and how they know He's real.
Reading the accounts of God acting in both miraculous and mundane ways reminds us that no matter what a person does for a living, each of us are created beings who need a loving Savior and merciful God.
Armchair Interviews says: Up close and personal stories from celebrities.
COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!! Terrific Read!.......2006-05-18
I received this book as a gift and once I started, I couldn't put it down. Ms Hagberg has captured the beliefs of these well known and respected celebrities, sports figures, and musicians. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in the series and can't wait to give copies of this one to all my friends. Order 2!
The book of a lifetime!.......2006-04-18
This is a book that you will no doubt want to share with everyone you know! (I certainly am!) It was so hard to put the book down - but worth it - just to extend the time and joy of reading it! GREAT content! GREAT author! I can't wait to read the next books in the series!
