Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

First in the Lord trilogy - great hero and heroine with wonderful chemistry, a definite re-read.......2007-07-19
"The Pirate Lord" is the first book in Sabrina Jeffries' Lord Trilogy, but I actually read it last. Like the other two it was wonderful, some of SJ's best work (though most of her romances are hits!). I would definitely recommend it and I am glad that I bought the book as I know it will be a re-read.
Setting: London and Atlantis/North Atlantic Ocean, 1818
Sensuality rating: 7 or 8 (chemistry and progression between hero and heroine was extremely well done, very good and well-written erotic scenes)
PROS:
(1) Sara (the heroine) and Gideon (the hero) are both likable and I think they're a great pair and very well-matched
(2) There was none of that confusion / misunderstanding that drives you crazy; the characters were constant and it's so touching how much they love and need each other
(3) The development of their relationship is interesting and fun to read; they clash almost immediately and it's just a joy to watch
(4) Good development of secondary characters and secondary romances; the people are real, as are their stories
(5) I enjoyed the historical aspect that was added with the back story of convict women and their transportation
(6) The end (won't specify because don't want to spoil) was pretty foreseeable, but I still loved it and it was touching to see that issue resolved for Gideon
(7) As I was reading this book I was kind of already writing my review in my head, and when Sara just accepts that Petey will pretend to marry her and doesn't even give a thought to his own wishes or Ann's (though she doesn't realize at first that they care for each other, she finds out later) I was very annoyed and made a mental note to add that to the cons ... however, I was VERY happy to see that SJ has her heroine actually show character development, as Sara realizes that she's being selfish and that she had just accepted that Peter would do this for her, when really they are equals and who is she to expect that? So thank you SJ, that was very well done!
(8) Jordan, Sara's brother, is very sweet and protective of her and I really enjoyed their relationship; he really loves her but I was glad to see that he didn't think himself her master and commander and was pleasantly surprised to see that he finally agrees to let her go on the transport ship. His story ("The Forbidden Lord" is great so make sure to read that one also!)
CONS:
(1) The whole premise of the book is unrealistic - Atlantis and the utopia of retired pirates - but if you can suspend belief for a little (which is, of course, the whole reason we read these novels to begin with!) then you'll be fine; frankly, the story is so great and well-written it really doesn't become an issue
(2) The summary provided on the back of this edition has some mistakes, but that's not a big deal, just one of those annoying things you notice after you read the book
BOTTOM LINE:
I would definitely recommend "The Pirate Lord" to any lover of historical romances (Regency period) and/or Sabrina Jeffries. The whole Lord Trilogy series is wonderful so once you finish this novel you can look forward to the next two.
ARRRRR,shiver me timbers!!!.......2007-02-17
Tis a great story of pirate love and a willing woman who does everything to keep her man
The Pirate Lord.......2006-11-09
I enjoyed this story as so many others by Sabrina Jefferies. I wasnt disappointed when I read this one. It kept me riveted and unable to put the book down.
Mind Numbing.......2006-10-20
When reading this book I suggest you sit down with a glass of wine (or even a bottle) in preparation for all the cheese this tale has to offer. While the plot showed potential and the promise of some good banter and wit, it does nothing but disappoint.
The story begins with an infuriatingly prudish heroine that is kidnapped by the conveniently cleaver, dangerous, charming, all knowing, all powerful, all everything-you-can-think-of "Pirate Lord" Gideon Horn. Miss Sara Willis, prude, prig, and all out holier-than-thou English reformer is so annoying you can't help but wish she would either shut up or be walked off the plank. Captain Horn, or Captain Corn as I prefer to call him, just happens to know everything there is to know about everything that possibly comes up...he accurately guesses everything Sara plans, feels, tries and even thinks. Never a doubt, never a mistake, never a guess to be made for he knows all...and he's nauseatingly corny to boot.
Furthermore, the dialog is so atrocious you can't help but cringe after every other phrase uttered by the characters. While every five paragraphs might have a commendable sentence or two, most of it seems to have been written by a sixth grader. Despite the drudgery of making it through each paragraph, I continued to read hoping the book would at some point redeem itself, but all for not. Chapter 14 rendered me so desperately bored I had no choice but to escape the mind numbing assault on my brain. Not that romance novels are supposed to be master works of literature...but at least make it fun, interesting, or even just plain readable. I recommend looking else where for a good story. All in all, this book left MUCH to be desired.
Beautiful story!!!!.......2006-08-30
I am a huge fan of Ms. Jeffries. Haven't read all her books yet, but I am working on it.
So far she hasn't missed the mark once. At times this story tends to get a bit draggy, but it does pick right up.
I did enjoy "The forbidden Lord" which is the next book in the series a bit more.
Still a wonderful read!!!

Customer Reviews:
Unbelievable Series!!!.......2002-12-06
I wish Dudley pope were still alive and publishing more tales of lord Ramage. I'm on book 17 of 18 and they've all been sleep-stoppers for me. These books follow the career of a bright young lieutenant as he rises in ranks of the English navy between the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. He's very hard on the french and Spanish navies. If you are French or Spanish, you might be offended. I'm not sure women will enjoy these books as much as men, since there are a few cliche seens involving the hero and beautiful women that make the novels seem somewhat chauvinistic. However, the writing is superb, the ideas are original, and the real joy is in trying to figure out how Ramage will accomplish unbelievable missions and then seeing how your ideas, never quite measure up to his performance. I can't do these books justice. Just see for yourself.

Loved it! .......2006-09-07
I just finihed reading this book and I enjoyed every minute of it. A lot of adventure and it has some steamy parts too. I would reccommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, pirate stories and adventure.
Difficult to review..............2004-11-08
If I could review this in 2 parts, I'd rate Talon Drake 6*. He is everything a male lead should be. Wonderful depth, you can see to his soul........Then his 'wife' Regan. Although likeable, her whining and attempts to get away..and the fact that she is frequently in a chemise in her encounters with all the male characters if really tedious. I don't know what Talon sees in her to warrant all his sacrifice. This rates about 2* The other characters are so life like you can touch them. They rate a 5*. The plot is complex and changes but is better than average. I hope there is a sequel for Marcus, Talon's 'dead brother'. So far I haven't found one. If you do please email me at barnardap@aol.com. thanks. enjoy........
One of the best pirate stories. .......2004-09-22
I just got done reading this book, thankfully it ended my bad book run. I had the second book in this series, only I did not know they were connected till a few minutes ago when I went to do my review and read that My Lord Pirate is the first book. Well, I sold the second book, not knowing what I had and just kicked myself you know where for getting rid of it, so I ordered the second book again, as well as the third. I loved this book and read it in practically one day. If I could have stayed awake any longer, I would have finished it. This book had so many twists and turns, Talon is woow baby. I wish. I highly recommend this book, if you can find it, and the other two too. I have not read the third book yet, but I have no doubt it will be as good as the first and second. I will definetly be reading this book again, probally all of them, to do the series justice. I didnt want it to end. Help us all if books like these keep coming out.
Fell in love with Talon!.......2004-03-07
I was hopelessly addicted to Talon from page one. The story draws you in and is impossible to put down. Makes you feel like you are part of the story. Upon borrowing the book from a friend, it was one I decided I wanted to own. Upon searching the internet I found out there were two more books, without hesitation I ordered them. I am currently reading the 3rd of the series. A truely good read, I highly reccomend this book, bravo!
Book #1 Of An Epic Tale Of Romance And Revenge.......2003-06-12
This is book #1 of an epic trilogy, a historical romance featuring three warring families: The Drakes, the Espinosas, and the Kendrick-Welles. Set in the Caribbean in the 15th century, it is a tale of extreme betrayal, the lust for brutal revenge and hidden treasure, the quest for lost honor, and the hope of new love.
"My Lord Pirate" is Talon Drake's story. He is an almost perfect hero. Not only is he unbelievably handsome, courageous, intelligent, brave, sexy and charming...but he has a strong and ethical code of honor. Talon was born of a noble English family on their large island plantation in the Caribbean. The entire family, except Talon and his brother Marcus, was tortured and brutally murdered through a friend's greed and betrayal. The politics of the time - the sea rivalry between the English and the Spanish, and the treasures of the Spanish Main, helped to further destroy the fortunes of the Drake brothers. They both take to piracy in order to survive. Revenge to those who brought them down, and clearing their family name of treason charges keeps them alive through terrible hardships.
Talon attempts to kidnap his enemy's, (Harrison Kendrick), fiancee and winds up with the wrong woman. Regan is as wonderful a heroine as Talon is a hero. She is beautiful, smart, courageous and very non-traditional. Together, the two of them make sparks fly. My major critique of this novel is that Ms. Renkin, in order to maintain tension between Talon and Regan, settles on the hackneyed solution of overdoing the "love-hate" relationship. There is certainly enough justification for perhaps 50% of the, "I love you in the evenings and I hate you in the mornings" between the two of them. There is much shared familial baggage that gets in the way of love and friendship. But the back and forth bickering, especially by Regan, who changes her feelings every 8 hours, comes across, (oddly enough), as the author's weakness rather than Regan's. Ms. Renkin's success in building such a strong female figure is also her downfall. When Regan uncharacteristically continues, ad nauseum, to protest too much - her whining and turn-coat behavior is not believable. I am then, as a reader, torn from the story and forced to think, "Bad writing!" What a disruption!
Anyway, we are treated to rough storms at sea, of both the natural and emotional kinds. Regan's cousin Arabella and clan are also captured, crowding the ship with a varied and very entertaining cast of characters. Plots and counter-plots succeed and are also thwarted. And slowly, some of the pieces of the puzzle emerge that show us the broader picture of over 2 generations of the intertwining histories of the families.
Of the two Renkin books that I have read so far, this one and its sequel, "Night Shadow," I prefer the latter. Each book stands on its own, but I strongly suggest that you read this one first. It is a good book and a good read. I have a feeling that the last two books are the strength of the trilogy and look forward to beginning "The Heart Of The Condor."
