Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Humor, romance, adventure...........2007-10-08
I just finished "Lord Perfect" and it was almost that - perfect. It was funny and sexy, the plot moves along quickly with great detail but not so much it bogged down the story. The secondary characters were funny and heart-warming. (Boy, am I glad I didn't give up on this author after reading a sub-par "The Last Hellion".) Definitely one for the keeper shelf.
Perfect End.......2007-08-21
Lord Perfect is the perfect end to the Earl of Hargate son's trilogy after Miss Wonderful and Mister Impossible and was my favorite of the three books. Benedict, the heir to the earldom, has been considered by the town to be the perfect aristocrat, no scandal, his marriage to his late first wife was the perfect arrangement she was from good family and all his decisions and actions have been in line with the upper class' expectations, therefore earning him the name Lord Perfect. He has temporary guardianship of his wayward nephew Peregrine or "Lisle" who wishes to be an Egyptian explorer like his aunt Daphne but his drawing leaves a lot to be desired and this leads Benedict to seek a drawing tutor for Lisle. When his search leads him to society outcast Bathsheba, Benedict is stunned to find himself tempted by a woman. Her looks are beautiful but Benedict finds himself also fascinated by her wit. Knowing society will disapprove, Benedict throws caution to the wind and hires her to tutor his nephew. When Bathsheba's hoyden daughter gets Lisle involved in a plan to run away to search for some hidden treasure, Benedict and Bathsheba must go after them. Along the way, the passion between Benedict and Bathsheba explodes and for once Benedict decides to turn his back on society and do what's right for him. However, Bathsheba who was one of the infamous outcasts the Delancey's, refuses to let Benedict ruin his life for her.
I really liked Benedict, he was the true aristocrat with all the attributes down to a fault but still showed he had character. Bathsheba was refreshing in that she just admits that she wants the man and goes for it. The kids are typical and the story fun. Good ending.
Yes its a perfect regency! onbe of our most loved authors.......2007-08-08
This series just gets better and better. Benedict is the heir to the Earl of Hargate, Viscount Rathbourne. He's one of those marvellous heroes who never puts a foot wrong - the epitome of the perfectly mannered, perfectly behaved, perfectly dependable, perfectly everything aristocrat. Until his nephew Peregrine clashes with Olivia, the daughter of widowed Bathsheba Wingate, one of the `Dreadful DeLucey's' who create havoc and scandal wherever they go. You'll be delighted as scandalous havoc does ensue! Olivia secretly persuades Peregrine to run away on a Grand Adventure to dig up her great-grandfather's pirate treasure, in the grounds of her ancestral mansion. Only with the treasure will her Mama lose that haunted, tired look, and be accepted into society (aww). The hoo-ha escalates as Benedict and Bathsheba take off after the children, with great speed and alarm - and intimate proximity. (Another road trip, yay, just like Mr. Impossible!) Of course - of course - Benedict and Bathsheba fall in love, both knowing the other is totally unsuitable. But love Will Not Listen to polite society, will it? Benedict's control unravels so fast it's hysterical, and Bathsheba continually tries to push him away - but of course he's irresistible. Glorious fun, rollicking romance, everything to enjoy in this book.
P.S. The part where Bathsheba introduces Benedict to her estranged relatives as her `mad brother Derek' is priceless. He's fuming (`throbbing in silence') and she's sweetly desperate to maintain his sterling reputation. And that's only one of the fun scenes!
Wonderful Chase book.......2006-12-09
Reminiscent of her earlier works, this book is a lively tale of love and adventure.
Neither as deep as "Captives of the Night" nor as hilarious as "Lord of Scoundrels" and "The Last Hellion", it is still a wonderful read. Of the three in this new series so far ("Miss Wonderful", "Mr. Impossible" and this book), this is my favorite.
The story of how "Lord Perfect" becomes "Lord Mussed, Fussed and In Love" is delightfully told and fun to read.
Once again, the author shows her versatility in her drawing of characters.
(PS: The cover art is AWFUL! ;D)
Enjoy!
Hilarious & Sexy Regency .......2006-09-17
Loretta Chase's books are always good. I have read & enjoyed them all. 'Lord Perfect' is a new title and the book more than met my high high expectations. It is funny, touching, exciting and extremely sexy. The characters are fully developed and very appealing. I expect to re-read this book as I have all of Chase's earlier books. It is really a SIX ****** star keeper.

The Perfect Prince.......2007-07-19
Very enjoyable book. I have also enjoyed the other books in this series about the Draig who are dragon shapeshifter who rule half the planet and also the series of books about the Var who are cat shapeshifters that rule the other half of the planet. I really like the series on the Var a little bit more and I can't wait for the two new books in that series to come out soon.
Excellent........2007-04-10
I loved this book and all of the Dragon Lord books. As well as the Lords of Var books. Michelle Pillow is a wonderful writer and I highly recommend anything she writes. This is a great series.
Exotic, Erotic - Great curl up in a chair book.......2007-03-22
Really out of this world characters that grab you the minute you open the book.
Dragon Lords Series by Michelle M. Pillow.......2006-08-22
the whole series is GREAT !
looking forward to reading the Lords of VAR the the next set of this series
The Perfect Prince is a Perfectly Steamy Novel!.......2006-04-20
If you're looking for a novel that combines erotica with romance and a decent plot, definitely check out "The Perfect Prince" and the rest of the Dragon Lord Series.
I agree with the other reviewer that the story starts off slowly in the first few chapters, but once it gets started, have a cold drink ready, because the love scenes are HOT! I really liked Olek, the hero. He's definitely an ALPHA male all the way, yet the author manages to show him as sweet, sensitive and loving to his would-be-bride. Many authors can't pull off writing alpha-male characters that don't come off like ogres.
Olek is without a doubt the "Perfect" Prince. I actually liked him better than the leading lady, Nadja. She's an inexperienced virgin who's trying to escape her past and is furious when she finds out Olek is royalty.
Also, kudos to whoever did the cover art, I almost didn't buy the book but the "Prince" looked irrestible!!
Book Description
The Lord of Perfect Satisfaction (Ruyijun zhuan), a short work of fiction from the early sixteenth century, tells the story of the Tang Dynasty's notorious Wu Zetian, the only woman to rule as emperor of China. It is famous not for the history it relates, but for its graphic sexual descriptions--the first ever in a Chinese novel--purportedly given from a woman's point of view. For the next century, most works that include explicit sexual descriptions refer to the Ruyijun zhuan or employ some of its vocabulary.
Despite its renown and unmistakable influence on later writing, the origins and significance of the Ruyijun zhuan have never been explored, in any language, and until now it has never been translated. Its date of composition is unknown, its author unidentified. One of its earliest appraisals, written by a contemporary scholar known for his conservatism, maintains that the Ruyijun zhuan is a moral work notwithstanding its sexual content. Combining a complete translation with a detailed and far-ranging study of the text, The Fountainhead of Chinese Erotica places this important cultural document into historical context and offers possibilities on its possible meaning. Charles Stone's meticulous work reveals the Ruyijun zhuan's author to be a scholar of Tang history who employed a wide range of historical and classical allusions that serve as a surprisingly subtle commentary on the actions of central characters.
The Fountainhead of Chinese Erotica is a scrupulously researched, critically sophisticated, and urbane work of scholarship that illuminates an important primary text and Chinese erotic writings in general.
Customer Reviews:
Scholarly, but still fun.......2006-03-07
I had very little idea what this book was about - a translation and commentary on the Ruyijun zhuan, plus whatever clue lies in the title. I got a lot more than I expected.
The central part of this book is the promised translation. The fiction in it turned out to be based loosely (maybe very loosely) on the historical life of emperor Wu Zitian. She was not only the one female emperor in China's history, according to the translator's notes, but an erratic, brutal, and debauched libertine. Some historians credit her excesses with the fall of the Tang empire. As a result, her brazen personal life made a good foundation for a sexually outrageous story. So did history's view of her, somewhat like Shakespeare's Richard III, as a character that could be vilified safely.
Despite its explicitness, Stone is careful to point out that this is not pornography in any meaningful sense. It contains many literate allusions to history and to the classic texts, unlike the mindless "organ recitals" before and after it. And, unlike those lesser works, its imagery is not centered on physicality brought to completion. Instead, there are odd interruptions in the story and wide variations in the level of descriptive detail.
Stone's commentary adds a lot to the reader's appreciation of this brief (45 page), bawdy story. He fills in the historical context that makes the Ruyijun zhuan make sense, and positions it with respect to later works that plagiarize heavily from it. He also addresses the mystery of its author, making a strong case for Huang Xun - a prim, proper, and otherwise unlikely functionary of the early/mid sixteenth century.
Stone's copious footnotes alternate between dry bibliographic references and insightful notes on historical context or untranslatable wordplay. His commentary, the large majority of the text, is generally lively and interesting. This book reads somewhat like a doctoral dissertation. If that's what it is, it's among the better written ones. It's also the best expression I've seen of an author having plain old fun in work that a lesser researcher would have rendered dry and dull.

Another Great Heather Cullman Novel.......2003-04-08
This is even better than "For All Eternity", to which it is a sequel. The characters (Nicholas' brother Quentin)and his undesired wife, Jane, are complex and enjoyable.
Finally! ...........2003-01-29
a regency with nary a dead body in sight! No murder plot, no cartoonish villain.. yay!!. In short, this book is what romance is about: a relationship between a man and a woman.
This is the story of Lord Quentin Somerville, a rake to end all rakes. He has made a living out of debauchery until the fateful day he lays eyes on the Season's reigning beauty Clarissa Edwardes. He is instantly smitten and decides to pursue her. Tired of competing with Clarissa's other titled and more wealthy suitors, Quentin concocts a plan to trap her into marriage by compromising her at a masked ball (Quent is not very nice). Quentin's plan goes without a hitch until he's found (as planned) by members of the ton. To his surprise and utter dismay the passionate woman in his arms was not Clarissa at all but her plain, boring stepsister Jane.
I know that the forced marriage thing has been done a million times but this author somehow manages to bring an interesting spin to this tired plot. The hero is as nasty as they come (think Sebastian Verlaine in Patricia Gaffney's To Have and to Hold) who even goes so far as to rape the heroine on their wedding night. I know this is terrible but the author makes his transformation into an ideal and loving husband believable. By the end of the story I was head over heels for him. On the other hand, Jane is kindnes personified, her sweet but strong personality was overshadowed by the glitz and glamour of London's nobility. Once Quentin gets to see her in her natural setting,in the countryside among peasants and nature, his frozen heart is in great danger of being thawed by Jane's sweet smile.
My only quibble: I thought Jane should have made Quentin grovel and beg and plead a lot more for his evil deeds. Otherwise this book is a great read especially for those who are heartily sick of the dead corpses and evil villains that populate every other romance today. Highly recommended. :)
A great book by a great author........2002-12-11
I read a review for this book when it was first published a year or so ago. The review was great, but I didn't read the book because I usually don't like plain Jane stories where the heroine's kindness outshines her lack of beauty so on and so forth. I picked up this book not remebering the review or the reason I didn't read it when it was first released. When I was far enough into the book to remeber,it was too late, I was hooked.
I loved the heroine Jane especially. She took a bad situation and made the best of it. As intended, the Hero was hard to like at first. The wonderful thing about Heather Cullman's books is that she can take a less then perfect person and make them into a hero or heroine. The transformation for me was very believable.
This was a great book with a great love story.
Some of these people obviously read a different book than me.......2002-07-16
Couldn't put it down! This book was an absolute delight. Loved everything about it. A keeper!...
Surely there are worse books out there somewhere?.......2002-06-28
I'm sure that I've read worse books, but I'm hard pressed to think of them. What's bad about this book? Perhaps the doormat heroine who is raped on her wedding night but continues to try to please her "caught" husband? Perhaps the self-centered slob she marries who has NO redeeming qualities then a sudden conversion to virtue? Perhaps the simplistic "simple" folk who live in the village and wait to be "saved" by the heroine? Or maybe it's all the short choppy sentences and superficial utterances of the author? My first and last Heather Cullman book. If you're literate, avoid this book.

Product Description
This Prestwick House Literary Touchstone Classic includes a glossary and reader's notes to help the modern reader more fully appreciate the richness and unique vision of these Romantic innovators. When, in 1798, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and other Romantic poems were published in Lyrical Ballads, the book did not immediately capture the public's imagination. Today, however, most modern critics consider the collection extremely important and influential-it ushered in what came to be known as the English Romantic Era in poetry and moved from the contrived and intellectual poetic language of the Enlightenment to a celebration of the simple, the pure, and the natural. The poems in this anthology represent, not necessarily the most famous, but certainly the best poetry produced by the six great English Romantic poets-Blake, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, Shelley, and Keats. These twenty-two poems reveal the heights of ecstatic inspiration, the depths of grief and utter desolation, and the ideologies of these mystics, revolutionaries, and free thinkers. Mini-biographies of the poets accompany their works and tell the stories of the fascinating, and often scandalous, lives of the modern world's first true literary celebrities
