Page after page of Inspiration.......2005-12-10
Suzanne Falter-Barns has given the gift of added inspiration to anyone who needs vindication for taking time out to pursue their own dreams, not just writers, but aspiring spirits of all walks of life. We are often made to feel guilty for seeking our own path, or the 'road less traveled', especially if we're not following traditional or 'money making' careers. In my opinion, this book should be required reading for all graduating high school seniors to give them that extra gust of wind beneath their wings...

Buy this book for everyone you care anything about!.......2005-03-26
I was browsing the table of contents of this book online here at amazon, and was so excited by just the titles of each chapter I knew I had to have this book immediately if not sooner. So for the first time in my life, I dowloaded the digital version of the book and was reading it within 5 minutes. Now I am a person who has read all the Robbins,Chopra, Dyer, Sinetar, Moore, Quantum Physics and Abraham materials you can think of. Every book on Doing what you love and the money will follow theme. This book is the best of all of them.
I read almost all the "You can do anything you want once you find yourself, believe in yourself and focus" books anyone on earth can claim to have read and this book had me up all night and the next and I read it in just 2 days I couldnt put it down. What struck me about it if you read it clearly, is that this book isnt so much about doing anything and succeeding, its about just getting out of the way of all your doubts, excuses and mental reasoning and just living who you are. It doesnt even matter if you fail or succeed as the doing it becomes the divine calling of your life. Nothing else is important...or satisfying!
All the other books focus on succeeding or getting from A to B but Suzanne just tells you to do it, do it forever and let the chips fall where they may. Wow, what a relief to know that I can spend the next 30 years of my life as a public speaker, never make a dime and on my death bed know I did what my soul came here for me to do! The success and fame is just gravy.
Thank you Suzanne for giving me permission to live my life with no hidden agendas of meeting anyones expectations including my own. Damn, life may actually start to be fun again. As a financial advisor who has few paying clients I've done so well for, Ive made them millions of dollars and never even got a thank you, nor have I got the fame and exposure for my website or message board called:momsonlinestocks(ok, ok, so I threw in a little plug. lol) that I deserve after having one of the best stock picking records in the country for 2 years! Nor have I been able to live the way I want financially because they dont reward me very well, Ive felt very resentful about life. Now I know it is ok to do the things I really love even if they never pay my bills. In fact, without doing what you can say is your life/soul mission(s), no success anywhere else will ever make you feel complete. I cant wait to read Suzanne's other book which is on its way in the mail. BEST book I ever read!
Please.....get this book for everyone who is not really happy with their work and lives. In fact, get this for everyone who is as well. I'ts loaded with inspiration from cover to cover. If this book wont do it for you, nothing else will. Dont know what you want from life? No problem. Suzanne will help you. In fact, I'd love to correspond with all readers of this book and maybe even start a cyber support group or board. The most liberating and validating book I've ever read. I'm even thinking of making a career out of teaching her concepts! Coaching anyone? -) Be prepared to miss work the next day if you start this book late at night. You wont be able to put it down. In fact, tomorrow I am going to attend a workshop on a particular love of mine I have had for years knowing there will be only superior and more experienced people there. Now I am going because it is my calling to do so, the fear of measuring up is completely gone. What an epiphany! I wish I read this book at age 15, instead of in my 40's. My whole life would have probably turned out different.
I have always affectionately been know as the "maker of miracles' or the "grantor of wishes" but never was able to get paid for my personal coaching/consulting. Now I have the emotional tools to do so and it doesnt even matter if I never get one paying client. My e-mail is:mince38@yahoo.com if you'd like to comment or chat.

Sound familiar? YES! But sometimes we need reminding!!!.......2005-01-21
Unlike the last negative review, though I did find some things that have been said in many other books of this type, for me the reminders were just that--a reminder to get back into the work I love, but with a practical stamp upon it to make it happen (me being an ungrounded Gemini, being 'practical' is difficult!). I just finished Suzanne's other book, "Living Your Joy" and I am so grateful I found it as well. Both books inspired me to do the work (play) that is REALLY important to me, yet still keep the day job going for the daily bills we all face here on Planet Earth. Bravo, Suzanne!
A little book that packs a wallop!.......2004-08-13
This book may look small, but it packs a wallop for everyone who's having trouble starting - whether it be starting "the great American novel", a painting, new business or screenplay. Suzanne Falter-Barnes also shows us how "failures" actually help us in the creative process, and be positive experiences along our path. It's not necessarily a matter of having talent, it's all about having the passion to follow our dreams.
Living your dreams.......2003-04-01
Speaking from my own point of view when trying to pursuing my dream, I have faced the fear of failure. I think we all have in some way, more or less. We need encouragement to go on, and if we don't get it, we need courage to do it all on our own.
To me, failure is wisdom and something we shouldn't be afraid of. What's important is that we must never give up. The dream is out there and it's reachable if you don't give up. In some way you'll always be able to achieve it.
Author, Suzanne Falter-Barns is in her book `How Much Joy Can You Stand?' giving us inspiration and encouragement to never giving up on your dream. The book is based on other peoples stories as well as on Suzanne Falter-Barns own experiences. In the book are exercises to go forth and back whenever a situation occurs.
Take the advices from others and start pursuing your dream today. When you're 70 years old, it might be too late and you'll be annoyed over what you didn't do. Everything is up to you - get started!

The Spy who loved her!.......2006-05-24
I just finished Gennita Low's entire series. If you love international espionage, edge of your seat action, and love scenes that will fog your glasses, then this series for you. I will say if I had to pick a favorite, this one was it. She weaves a tale of lost & found love against a backdrop of Washington DC. Her characters are strong, witty, and can kick [...]if need be.
You also need to visit her website [...] where she gives you background on the characters & missions, as well as some really NICE photos of her Navy SEALS.
I love to read serial novels. I enjoy the character and relational development that cannot be perfected in the frame of one novel. I am looking forward to the next one. Don't keep us hanging too long Gennita.
Also recommended Cindy Gerard's "Bodyguard" series, Carla Neggers.
Loved it!.......2005-09-22
This book was excellent but have to admit I read these books out of sequence.Into Danger should have led into Facing fear but I ended up reading the last one next which was the Hunter. It should have been The Protecter. I still like her leading into the next book at the end of each book and have enjoyed all of them although I managed to mix them up.She manages to bring the main characters together very nicely at the end of each story, with you wanting to know what happens to some of the secondary characters. I hope we find out what happens to Cam and Patty and Also will Alex ever capture T. as she has avoided him in almost every book ,Wonder too, if Jed will ever meet his match. Hopefully a lady will come along and knock his socks off as he is so full of himself.
I could barely force myself to continue reading this.......2005-07-15
I really enjoyed Gennita Low's first novel "INTO DANGER", but this one was not anywhere near the same level. I felt absolutely no sympathy for the character's emotions. The sex scenes were like page fillers that seemed overdone after the first few times. The suspense started out fine and then just lingered with the same question for most of the book until it just started going down, down, down. I was so bored near the end that I had a difficult time finishing it. It was wordy, repetitious and did absolutely nothing for me. I was really hoping for more from this new author. I read in another review someone mentioning how Ms. Low's writing got better for this novel. I guess if you are really fascinated with all the boring bureaucratic mumbo jumbo than you will be captivated by this book. The premise for this story was intriguing, but never quite lived up to its potential. I hope her other books are better than this one. The contrast between the first and the second are night and day.
Another success!.......2005-05-07
I have read most of the reviews on the book by other customers.
I agree that the book did have a bit of repetitive concerning the trauma that Leah/Nikki endured as a prisoner of war. Which is why is it four stars versus five stars. But I also believe that was the crux of the story. Leah/Nikki coming to terms with who she was and had become. It is a story about her coming back from a horrendous experiences and finding love again - with her husband who after 10 years still held a torch for her, dreamed about her, and loved her.
I imagine it depends on what someone is looking for in a book. I, for one, recommend this book to people that have enjoyed her other books or books by Suzanne Brockmann. But be aware, there is less military drama and more espionage.
Preposterous! Are we idiots? .......2004-11-25
This is my first from Gennita Low. I was so enthusiastic to read it because of glossy reviews. What a disappointment... This is a US government suspense. Consequently, the main idea was good in the beginning. The factor of ethnic flavour (the heroin is Asian) is also something new in this genre.
[...] Ms Low repeats every single detail so many times that that made me almost thrown up. After some time I gave up counting to read how many times the bad guys tortured, raped etc. the heroin. How can it be possible to have operated perfectly after what happened her skin, face, body? Plastic surgery has lots of limitations Ms. Low.
Actually I found the heroin totally dumbfounded. The hero is irritating and his fetish about long long hair is gross.
Is it really possible if a person really is unaware of herself throughout 10 years and then remembers everything in bed with her "husband"?
This book needs a good editing, but it is too late. Normally Avon is quite precise in this matters, perhaps they were in a hurry. Despite what I wrote, I am planning to give this author another try, maybe I will order her first or next work. I hope she improves herself in writing, as I mentioned before she has some great ideas.[...]
Book Description
Rather than explaining typical strategies for overcoming fear, this book focuses on examining how fear is experience, how to recognize that experience as nothing more than conditioned reaction to circumstance, and how to mentor oneself into letting go of beliefs about "appropriate" responses to fear. The notion is debunked that fear is anything other than a label we have learned to put on a set of physical and emotional responses, which is a Buddhist view of emotion in general.

Great book!.......2007-06-26
For the past few years I have known I have fears I cannot identify. I also knew they were affecting - directing - my behavior and relationships. But I did not know how to address them. My fear was preventing me from addressing my fear. This book, in an encouraging and uplifting way, lets you know how to identify and address your fears. Essentially, you befriend your fear. I think to completely 'get' the book's instructional message, you already have to be on the path toward what it says. I don't know if someone who denied they had fear would 'get' the book. But if you are truly committed to addressing your fears, you should read this book. It's not a religious book, though it does believe the way to fearlessness is through, what I imagine is, largely a Zen approach to fear. One of my favorite quotes from the book: "The same eyes with which I see God, God sees me." I recommend this book without reservation.
Deceptively simple.......2005-10-21
It is important to understand that this book is based on Zen Buddhism and not really a beginners book. Zen can appear to make no sense or seem overly simple to someone never exposed to it - I suspect this is what caused some reviewers here to take back there books or claim it to be 'junk'.
This is a wonderful guide, but for the Zen uninitiated not a good first step. Try 'Hard core Zen' (for younger crowd) or the book that got me started 'Nothing Special : Living Zen' and, 'Buddhism Plain and Simple'. Give it six months or so of 'Zen practice' (or meditation) and come back to this book and other Cheri Huber titles.
Hope this helps.
Simple and Easy are not the same!.......2005-02-23
Cheri Huber's books are like treasures to me. No matter how I feel, I can always pick on up and read starting at any page. Sometimes that is all I have to start finding my center when I am lost in chaos.
Her books are simple. The longest one I think is about 230 pages (There Is Nothing Wrong With You) to some much shorter. Many times Cheri tells us that the practice is very simple, and we can throw away 99% of all books written about it.
However, it isn't easy. Being still isn't easy. Facing yourself, or just watching yourself isn't easy. Think that is foolish? Try it.
Pay attention.
Junk.......2002-09-18
While The Fear Book and The Depression Book might be amongst the best books in their class, they are still complete nonsense, which doesn't say much for this class of book. I regret wasting my money. I'd sell them on but I think people, particularly suffering people, need protection from this author
maybe simple is okay.......2002-07-01
Well I am biased...I love Cheri Huber's books and own a few of them. The message *is* very simple, and I think the huge contrast in the reviews is interesting. This might be one of those books that you read a few times (if you give it a second chance) and think it is too simple, kind of lame. But then one day it just kind of clicks and you see that it is very wise and wodnerful. Maybe it is that her approach to fear simply doesn't work for everyone. It, along with some other things in my life,a ll worked together to help me reduce the amount of fear and anxiety in my life, but it isn't a CURE, and requires a lot of MAINTENANCE.
Customer Reviews:
Great for a small group study........2006-10-02
My study group discussed this book and it was very enlightening and comforting. Everyone fears something and this book covers most common fears such as loneliness and failure. It is reassuring to understand God's perspective and how He cares for us during suchtimes.
Another lousy Christian self-help book..........2006-08-31
My entire church was forced to read this book last fall as part of its teaching series. In a church of 1000+ people, I have not found one person who liked the book.
The author makes it seem as if we are all cripped by some common phobias and that we are paralyzed by fear. While some of his premises are fine, most of them are just generalizations and pure grabbing at straws.
Maybe this has some applicability for those who live in the Bible belt and who aren't too worldly, but for those of us who have been around the block, it's just another feeble Christian self-help book.
Very Comforting Read!.......2004-09-14
I don't know why this book hasn't received more attention given the events of recent times. With familiarity and humor, Ed Young has a unique way of bringing us back to the basics of faith in times of fear and crisis. We have been sitting on the edge of our seats since 9/11, wondering what will happen next. And this book puts our fears in perspective and helps us see that, no matter what happens, God is still in control. An incredible help in uncertain times.
Book Description
Ever since September 11, 2001, an epidemic of fear has afflicted us. We worry about the safety of loved ones. We are anxious about our future that sometimes feels as secure as a house of cards. We dread the possibility of a generation of war against terror. We are afraid.
But in the gospels, Jesus Christ offered us an antidote for fear. "Do not be afraid," he said, as he prescribed faith as the medicine that would equip us to face our fears courageously.
In Facing the Future Without Fear, Dr. Lloyd John Ogilvie, applies this gospel prescription to our darkest fears. "These inner fears reside in the realm of our most private selves, known only to us and to God." Each of us needs to receive healing in these hidden places, he explains. And with engaging stories and personal observations, Dr. Ogilvie provides "prescriptions" to help us dispel our fears and receive the profound and life-changing love of God.
Customer Reviews:
A Powerful Book!.......2004-03-22
Lloyd John Ogilvie brings such a breadth of knowledge to applying the principles of the Bible to life's daily challenges. That's the reason this book is so powerful, because it instructs you in how to receive knowledge so that you can apply God's Truth where you are and as a result experience the abundant life Jesus came to give.
We're encouraged to "boldly face the future unafraid with the sure confidence that God will work all things for your ultimate good and His glory." Dr. Oglivie admits he is a fellow struggler that, "no one has it all together."
On speaking well of people who do you wrong, he writes about the power of blessing. He interpretes Romans 12:14, "Bless those who persecutre you; bless and do not curse," as being connected with this power. He says bless comes from the Greek "eulogeo" meaning "speak well of," eu=well, logos=word. He writes about pleasing God, and letting God take care of the results.
Life Changing!.......2001-11-06
If you are a 9/11/01 survivor, literally and/or physically, here's just what the doctor ordered for your further survival. Let me tell you, the words of healing and renewal found here should not be missed. If you are sending out an S.O.S., whether to your fellow earthbound creatures, or have already looked up with eyes searching and hands reaching out for an answer to your questions, and to your feelings of lost security, look no further.
Just like September 11, 2001 will always be etched in your mind and heart, after reading this book, you will forever be changed. Don't take my word for it!
Let me suggest his other books as well.
From one once fearful and anxiety-ridden person who has finally found the peace of which I have all along been seeking.
I wish you all a peaceful future.
Book Description
One of the major inadequacies of our culture is our inability to verbally confront one another. It kills interpersonal relationships. It is a time bomb within families. It causes low productivity stress headaches and increases our consumption of alcohol and drugs. Very few even recognize it as a problem and even fewer know what to do about it. Why? Because we were never taught how to confront properly and effectively. But our success depends on these skills. guides the reader in how to approach verbally address issues and face others successfully without fear. these skills belong to the inner tactical strategy of facing yourself facing the issue and facing the other person. It is a key to spiritual empowerment
Customer Reviews:
Not worth the money.......2007-02-18
I believe that this book confuses assertiveness with rudeness and bullying. It basically is teaching you to be the boss of every situation and always get your own way no matter what. It's not about respecting others or even about having others respect you, it's about acting like a 2-year old until you get your own way. Also, this book seems to be written only for people in office or industrial jobs who are in supervisory positions. It in no way helped me, as I am not in either of those industries and I believe in mutual respect.

What is Elder Cool Time? You are Elder Cool if you decide it is time to teach others based on the wisdom of your aging process. Elder represents a purpose-evolving life experienced teacher, and cool is accepting the aging process with grace and dignity. Elder Cool is grace under challenge, and you decide it is time to live a quality life despite physical, social, financial, or emotional limitations with a sense of humor. You may never have a classroom, or realize you are a teacher as you go through life, but you teach by what you say or do, whether you choose to or not. Wisdom scripture, such as Ecclesiastes, Psalms, Proverbs, and the Sermon on the Mount, provide guidelines for becoming Elder Cool.
You might be Elder Cool if you know when it is time to turn in your driver's license. It might be time to turn in your driver's license if there is no drive- thru at the convenience store, but you made one.

It might be time to talk about the unmentionables: Finances, Funerals, and Flatulence. It might be time to plan your funeral if you get a panic attack when you hear, "What do you want on your Tombstone?" and realize later the family is ordering pizza.
It might be time to be sex wise if you have been dreaming every night about living in a nudist colony.
It might be time to dress smart if your pants legs are so short you could easily tread in two feet of water and not get them wet.
It might be time to have a faith check if you keep pinching the lady usher at worship.

"It's Cool to be Elder Cool".......2006-10-14
In Elder Cool Time: The Purpose-Evolving Life Filled with the Fears, Tears, and Cheers in Facing and Embracing the Aging Process(2006) author John H. Green, Ph.D. introduces the reader to what it means to be "Elder Cool." He describes "Elder" to represent a life-experienced teacher, and "Cool" to mean accepting the aging process with grace and dignity. Actions and words he states contribute to being "Elder Cool."
Throughout the book reflections, quotes, short stories and poetry are laced with humor to talk about the very tough problem of adjusting to growing old. For example, "You might be Elder Cool if you know when it's time to... Be Sex Wise and Loving with or without videos; Face and Embrace your physical maladies; and Have a Faith Check are some of the topics addressed.
Elder Cool stories include tributes to his Mom and Pop. Dr. Green describes Pope John Paul II as a "Classic Elder Cool. And, FSU Seminole fans will be pleased to see "Bad Bobby Bowden" as a noted Elder Cool.
Elder Cool Rules of what's Hot and what's Not will help you decide whether You are Elder Cool. I think Dr. Green has introduced a concept - "Elder Cool" that will be used by many to promote "It's Cool to be Elder Cool."
It sounds like once again Dr. Green who teaches at St. Johns River Community College in St. Augustine, Florida is teaching all of us. Thank you Dr. Green.

The best anxiety cure I ever found.......2000-05-16
I have suffered from anxiety all my life, and have even consulted therapists, without much progress. But this book--every time I read a chapter, I calm down. Doing the exercises is even better. The authors tell you, in a way that somehow communicates to me, that EVERYBODY HAS FEARS AND UNCERTAINTY--AND YOU CAN LEARN TO COEXIST WITH IT. Not just survive--actually enjoy living at least most of the time. This beats heck out of trying to hide it in the closet or sweep it under the rug, which takes a lot of energy and keeps it on your mind all the time! I wish every anxious person could read this book.
