Book Description
This saga of yearning and mystery travels across oceans and continents to Iceland, Greenland, and North America during the time in history when Anglo-Saxons battled Vikings and the Norsemen discovered America. The marked contrasts between powerful royalty, landless peasants, Viking warriors and noble knights are expertly brought to life in this gripping tale of the French prince named Rumon. Shipwrecked off the Cornish coast on his quest to find King Arthur's legendary Avalon, Rumon meets a lonely girl named Merewyn and their lives soon become intertwined. Rumon brings Merewyn to England, but once there he is so dazzled by Queen Alrida's beauty that it makes him a virtual prisoner to her will. In this riveting romance, Anya Seton once again proves her mastery of historical detail and ability to craft a compelling tale that includes real and colorful personalities such as St. Dunstan and Eric the Red.

Don't Read The Forward!.......2007-10-11
This a beautiful tale of two people who love each other but whose lives steer them away from each other. This story captured my attention quickly and kept it. There are several awesomely written reviews so I don't have much more to add except to advise potential readers to ignore the forward. Even more tragic that the star crossed lovers is the fact that such a beautiful novel was republished with such an awful condescending forward. This is truly an excellent novel and a writer of Seyton's caliber deserves much better! Read the book, ignore the foreword. You won't be sorry!
novel.......2007-09-09
ordered for my daughter (19), she loved it. shipping was very quick, and, condition of book was very good. just as described.
An excellent book.......2007-08-24
I read "Avalon" when I was in my late teens or early 20's, now at 53, re-reading it, and happy to have found it in the bookstore again, I am not disappointed. It is an excellent historical novel.
The title, "Avalon" refers to Rumon's quest, and there are other quests as well that tie in nicely with the title.
The writing flows, the language is written to sound realistic for the time period yet not hard to follow, it's as easy to read as anything set in the present day.
I was very disappointed in the publisher that allowed the terrible Foreward by Philippa Gregory. A book that has stood the test of time and been brought back into publication deserves a Foreward that is nothing but complimentary. Ms. Gregory wrote of "Avalon" what she feels is wrong with the book, to quote: "But as a novel, it is too episodic, and unstructured." She also wrote: "...it is hard to feel empathy that a good novel usually delivers."
What does "too episodic" mean? And the second quote I offer plainly shows that Ms. Gregory doesn't really believe "Avalon" is a good novel.
Reading "Avalon," I felt empathy for every character, even the nasty Alfrida. Perhaps Ms. Gregory is comparing "Avalon" to the books she has written, that I'm sure she considers "good novels." I work in a bookstore and to Ms. Gregory's credit, she has brought a lot of joy to people who buy and love her books, and I am tempted regularly to keep giving Ms. Gregory's books one more try, but I can't ever get beyond the first page in any of Ms. Gregory's books. So in reviewing Anya Seton's "Avalon," (and it is a low blow to criticize so negatively a book by a woman who has passed away), Ms. Gregory was unable to suppress her conceit in her own work along with her overwhelming ego because of her success with her books, (books that, at least to me, fall into the pulp Romance Novel category, although Ms. Gregory managed to get her books categorized as to be shelved in the Fiction bays). If I could, I would like to remind Ms. Gregory that these days, the publishing/bookstore business is very different than it was when "Avalon" first came out. If, in 47 years ANY of Philippa Gregory's books are republished, I will be surprised. But by then I'll be 100, and probably won't care, every minute will count at that age and I won't waste it trying once again to read any of Ms. Gregory's books.
The Foreward to "Avalon" is a good reason NOT to read Forewards.
The book "Avalon" is excellent. Characters that are very identifiable emotionally, good history, good dialogue, subtle and well-written. The scenes set in the Norselands are so realistic you can almost feel the climate.
Please read it and enjoy. Then read the actual history of the times; you will then be even more impressed with Anya Seton's work.
If you do read the Foreward, take the good, then take a black marker and block out the negative. Then read "Avalon" and enjoy it. It's wonderful.
Vivid Historical Novel.......2007-05-29
I almost didn't give this novel a chance. After reading Phillippa Gregory's introduction I was ready to write this off as a dry rehashing of historical facts along with some story thrown in. Gregory implies that narritive elements are thrown in and then dismissed and that the story itself provides little satisfaction.
Well do yourself a favor and don't read the intro. Ignore it. The story itself is quickly absorbing. Our hero, Rumon, is a young prince from Avignon encounters young Merewyn by chance after being shipwrecked of the coast of Cornwall. Merewyn cares for her mother, a woman suffering physically and mentally after a Viking attack before Merewyn was born. Merewyn also has royal claims: her mother tells Rumon that her father was a direct descendant of King Arthur. Knowing she is near death she makes Rumon promise to bring Merewyn to her aunt after she dies. Rumon keeps his promise, tying his destiny to Merewyn's for the rest of his life.
Is this a love story? Yes but it's not a romance. Don't read it looking for love scenes and a happily ever after. Is it an adventure? Yes but don't read it for any action scenes. Seton is a historian and incorperates several real life figures into her narrative, as well as some imaginary ones. They interact seamlessly. For me the ultimate test of whether or not a story is good is if I get involved with it. Do I feel bad for the characters and get angry at them? Yes. At times I did want more resolution than Seton provides but sometimes intersting things come from the lack of resolution here.
The Title is Subtly Misleading. . ........2007-05-15
Unless I dive into a scholarly interpretation of the title and decide that Avalon is somehow meant to be symbolic of the youthful and innocent part of ourselves we allow to be free enough to love, I have to say that the title and its relationship to the pale Arthurian thread is somewhat misleading. Even the small blurb about the what to expect in Avalon is a bit off, as I dove into this expecting a truly heart-wrenching love affair between Rumon and Merewyn, but wound up disappointed. This is not to say that Seton's flare for period writing is not at its best. I found myself wrapped up in her descriptions of life in the Viking settlements, and her court-life accuracy never fails to impress, but I truly feel that she focused so much on trying to develop a relatable Dark-Ages experience through what little history exists from that time, that she failed to create relatable and human characters. There is very little time to feel close to either Merewyn or Rumon as characters. There is hardly any lead into Rumon's sudden "awakening" in his love for Merewyn, and I truly believe that this evident lacking is a direct result of her not fleshing out the characters as well as could be. I dove into this expecting to have my breath taken away, much as I did while reading Katherine, and it just didn't happen. That is not to say it isn't a fine example of historical imagination. It just isn't the best Anya Seton book I've ever read.

What a wonderful book.......2007-06-13
I will keep this short and simple Mrs. Wolf is one of the best writers around. I loved this book it was worth every penny and I plan to keep it and read again one day.
Excellent version of the Arthur legends.......2006-07-03
This was a great read -- could not put it down. It was wonderful to start with the young Arthur and the experiences that made him the man - king -- that he was. The love story between Arthur and Morgan is truly heartbreaking and will bring tears to your eyes. The scene where Arthur comes face to face with the son he didn't know he had is gut wrenching.
I highly recommend this book, as well as the other two that follow in this trilogy, Born of the Sun and The Edge of Light. I wish the author would return to this style and quality of writing as opposed to the light fluffy regencies she is currently writing.
4.5 stars of historical romantic fiction-not fantasy-about King Arthur.......2006-04-13
The Road to Avalon is the story of King Arthur written as pure historical fiction with very elements of fantasy. This makes it quite a different story from the one that is normally told. There is no magic, no dragons, no quest for the Holy Grail and such things as are normally incorporated into the story.
Uther Pendragon and Igrane married and three months later had a son. Because Igrane was married to another man when the son was conceived (though it was Uther's child) they thought it best that the child not be Uther's heir. So he was sent away to be raised with peasants. Fast forward nine years and Igrane has had no other living children, so Uther sends his father in law, Merlin, to fetch young Arthur and raise him to be a king. Only when Merlin finds him he discovers the boy has endured years of abuse. He takes him home to his villa, Avalon, and raises him along side his eight year old daughter Morgan. But he never tells Arthur who he is.
Morgan and Arthur grow up together and are in love. But Arthur is reveled to be the next High King when he is 16 and he learns Morgan is his half-aunt and he can never marry her. They end their relationship. Arthur doesn't want to live without Morgan but she knows the country needs him and sends him away.
You can guess the rest. This is a lovely version of the classic Camelot tale and is very romantic and sweet. My only complaint is that Morgan doesn't have much of a personality-she's basically a reflection of Arthur, who is a lovely portrayal of a tortured soul who only exists because of love. And the choice she made about not marrying Arthur because they couldn't have children after her son Mordred was born seems stupid. I don't think that she did it purely so Mordred could have a happy childhood-she could have made him happy with her and Arthur. But other than that she's a great charecter. And it is nice how no one is really evil in this book or wholly unlikable-everyone is portrayed very fairly.
Anyway, good book. Four point five stars.
A Fresh Perspective On King Arthur Without Lancelot!.......2005-05-10
An incredible version of King Arthur sans Lancelot. This is the story of Arthur, and his more than humble beginnings, until Merlin tells him years after he "adopted" him that he is the heir to the British throne after Uther. He is Uther and Igraine's legitimate son. While Merlin is preparing him to be a leader whilst living in Avalon with his daughter Morgan, the two children develop a lasting friendship that turns into love. He doesn't know for years that Uther is his father, Igraine his mother, Merlin his grandfather and Morgan his aunt until he is to be king. By then it is too late to stop the love between Morgan and Arthur.
He becomes king but he still wants to marry Morgan. Merlin & Morgan warn him that the threat of incest will impede his reign and tell him it's impossible to marry her. He does eventually marry Gwenhwyfar in a loveless marriage to produce an heir while continuing his relationship with Morgan. Meanwhile, Gwenhwyfar finds comfort with Bedwyr with Arthur's knowledge and unspoken permission. Morgan has been keeping a secret from Arthur for 15 years that also comes out.
Read this book! It's a refreshing storyline that I haven't encountered before. Bedwyr is Gwenhwyfar's lover and there is no Lancelot to fuddle things up as usual. Mordred is portrayed as a very unwordly teen and unsure of himself and others. Agravaine is as obnoxious and cunning as he usually is in other novels. Gwenhwyfar is in love with two men. Finally, the relationship between Arthur and Morgan is not a simple one but a lasting one.
Outstanding!.......2005-03-11
I am a lover of Arthurian legend; a fierce lover. I find it dissapointing that most books on this subject are never about Arthur. It's always Lancelot, Guenevere, or any other character authors create. Then came Joan Wolf, daring to write a book of Arthur about Arthur. And not just the stupid, unimaginate character depicted by many writers, but a man among men, not only with a dream, but with the brilliance to carry it through. An Arthur who is more than Guenevere's lap dog. Hurray for Ms. Wolf!
You find all the elements that make a book outstanding here: chivalry, adventure, battles, blood, love, friendship . . . and that beautiful love story between Arthur and Morgan.
This book is a must for every Arthurian lover. I highly recommend it!

Book Description
n Mad Merlin, King created an epic fantasy that integrated the pagan and Christian mythos of Camelot in the tradition of Joseph Campbell's acclaimed works on religion and myth. In Lancelot du Lethe, he told the story of the most famous knight of King Arthur's Round Table, exploring how Lancelot and Guinevere were ill fated due to blood ties with the Fey. Now comes Le Morte d'Avalon, Morgan Le Fey's story. Part female Hamlet, part mystical Lady Macbeth, an Arthurian Joan of Arc, her position in society and the regal hierarchy place her in direct opposition to all that Arthur must accomplish. She is the vengeful heroine unanticipated in Merlin's mad scheme, and indeed may be the savior of all womankind. Once again Camelot is laid to risk alongside the fate of all the mortal realm.
Customer Reviews:
It's the same story! Why isn't it as good?.......2003-12-11
J. Robert King has done some magical things to the King Arthur mythos. Now, King continues his Arthurian story, in Le Morte D'Avalon by giving us the conflict between nature and warfare. This time, having told the story of Merlin and Lancelot, King gives us the story of Morgan Le Fay. Does King pull off a third great book? While it's interesting, it's nowhere near the level of the first two. A lackluster ending makes it even worse.
As is common knowledge to anybody even semi-familiar with the Arthurian legends, Morgan is Arthur's half-sister who bears a son with him, Mordred. King expands on this, making Morgan become an incarnation of Gaea, the earth-goddess. Morgan foresees that her half-brother will bring nothing but strife to the land, and that he must be destroyed before he can do that. Camelot, rather than being the paradise portrayed in the legends, will instead be the catalyst for some of the darkest times in history. Ever since the fall of Gaea, men have subjugated women and brought nothing but violence and war to the land that was once green and lush. She is determined to bring it back, starting her own earth religion that works toward this end.
As she continues her machinations against Arthur, she happens upon Lancelot, who she discovers is the "perfect consort" of a goddess like she is becoming. She is determined to win him to her side, and she becomes increasingly jealous when she finds out about Lancelot's fascination with Guinevere. This jealousy colours many of her interactions with both of them (as well as Arthur) for the rest of the book. It also causes her to make decisions she wouldn't normally make, jeopardizing her plans. Will she achieve the paradise on Earth that is her goal? Or will the representatives of Christianity and the Faerie folk defeat her?
While the concept of this book is intriguing, I thought the execution was flawed. This is not so much because of how King presented the whole scenario, but because many of the events are just rehashes of what he put in the first two books, just told from a different side. At times, this works (such as Morgan's first attempt at winning Lancelot, when she and her two disciples try to woo him into their lair), but at others it really becomes boring. The ending sequence in particular (No spoilers) is tedious, with Morgan mainly observing events that happened in the previous books. She provides some commentary, but she's not involved. The ending jumps from event to event with no real continuity. Whole sections of the previous books are discussed in a few pages and then the book just limps into nothingness.
While I'm discussing the ending, there is a really nice coda that really ties the series together. I thought that Lancelot du Lethe was the ending, and that it really worked well that way too. Adding Morgan to the mix, it brings an even more satisfying conclusion, as character arcs are wrapped up and the people involved move on with their lives/afterlives. I could have done without the very last pages, though, where King brings a modern-day spin to the gender issues that he's explored throughout the book, though. They seemed trite and unnecessary.
This brings me to the main fault of the book, in my opinion. The gender politics are very heavy-handed in this one. First, the main struggle is between the "male" religion of Christianity and the "female" religion that Morgan sets up (and becomes the embodiment of). Thus, most of the men in the book are either would-be attackers or emasculated men, while most of the women characters are noble and honorable. Some of this may be because of the viewpoint we get (it's all Morgan's), so the shading may be understandable. Arthur and Lancelot are the only two men who don't fall into this trap. Arthur is pretty much a non-character, being the focal point of Morgan's schemes but not interacting with her much. Lancelot is the "perfect consort" so must appear like a beacon of nobility. King does turn this whole idea on its head later in the book, demonstrating that the world still needs what men bring to it, and that a world dominated by a Gaea-like paradise would be, though very green, very cold and sterile. It's a nice contrast, but it's hurt by the fact that there are no sympathetic male characters in the first part of the book. It all appears to be a bunch of male-bashing, and twisting it at the end doesn't help the beginning.
Morgan herself is well done (until she becomes just an observer, at least, when she becomes boring). She walks the fine line between the villainess that we're all familiar with and a sympathetic character. King doesn't do as good of a job with any other characters, however. Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot are based on their portrayal in the other two books, but unfortunately you only get that if you've actually read them. Taken alone, they are woefully underdone. None of the other characters are remarkable in the slightest. King does a decent job with the writing as well, though his prose doesn't rise to the level that he reached in the first two books.
While, in hindsight, a book about Morgan is almost necessary to complete the series he has started, Le Morte D'Avalon almost feels written as an afterthought. It doesn't read anything like the first two and it seems to be more of a rehash of events than is absolutely necessary. If you've liked the first two, this is a valuable conclusion to the series. But I'd buy it in paperback at least, if not waiting for the library.

Great New Perspective.......2003-10-10
Having not yet read the first two of King's Arthurian tales, I stumbled across Le Morte D'Avalon quite by accident. What a treat. It was a fast read which kept me turning pages eager to see what the next twist in the story would be. King introduced some characters to the tale that I had not had the pleasure of meeting in other Arthurian works - mainly Morgan's other children. He also did a fantastic job of evolving the story as Morgan's life from a six-year old with mysterious visions evolved into her reputation as a witch, a priestess and ultimately a goddess. Unlike the supportive loving sister of Mists of Avalon - unaware of her incestuous relationship with Arthur....Morgan in this book is cunning yet caring in an entirely new way. Her feelings for Arthur also mature as she and her powers mature. I don't normally go in for stories with lots of fire and dragons and shape changing, but King did it all very masterfully and mystically without being too hokey about it.
If you like Arthurian tales - give it a whirl...I was very pleasantly surprised!!!
Brilliant Conclusion of an Arthurian Trilogy!.......2003-09-19
This is the third and final book of J. Robert King's Arthurian trilogy. Moran le Fey is showcased in this novel. And what a novel it is! We follow Morgan from her innocent childhood, cut short by Uther Pendragon's lust for her mother Igraine, to her obsession with the goddess Gaga whom she is determined to bring back to life in Britain.
Arthur, unfortunately, is her sworn enemy, even though he never realizes it, of all she reveres. Arthur is the embodiment of destruction for Britain because he will be a bringer of constant war. Morgan wants to bring back the old ways of Gaea and therefore beauty and peace to the land and its people. She also intends to empower women and give them something they aren't familiar with, power and control over the men in their lives.
A wild exciting ride through Morgan's visions of what Britain and eventually the world should be is riveting and imaginative. This book is fairly reminiscent of "The Mists of Avalon" by the late Marion Zimmer Bradley. This story contains much more edge of your seat reading with immense magic, the visions of Morgan and her quest to destroy Camelot before it destroys Britain and the world.
All three novels in this trilogy stand alone, however, read them all to experience the wonder that is author, J. Robert King!
fresh and colorful interpretation of the Arthurian mythos.......2003-09-16
Her age of innocence lasted until she was eight years old. It was then her mother caught King Uther's eye and her father, Duke Gorlois went to war with him. In a vision Morgan sees his death but she finds her father in her mother's bed the next day. Only she can see that it isn't her father at all but Uther, wearing a magical illusion to fool the duchess. A child is born of that woman and Morgan's mother marries Uther and gives birth to Arthur, the once and future king.
After Uther dies, the queen makes an alliance with King Mark, making Tintagel a part of his kingdom. Sick of being under the yoke of men, Morgan leaves her home. She learns to travel the ley lines and work the earth magic of the goddess Gaea. She becomes a queen in her own right, always plotting to destroy Arthur and his kingdom of Camelot because like all men he seeks to oppress women while she seeks to liberate them.
Only a talented storyteller like J. Robert can make a woman like Morgan Le Fey sympathetic and understandable. The world of Camelot is touched by magic and Guinevere and Lancelot are creatures of fey while the worshippers of Gaea grow in numbers until they are actually a viable threat to the Christian religion. LE MORTE D'AVALON is a fresh and colorful interpretation of the Arthurian mythos reading like a ballad sung by troubadours of yesteryear.

Good for what it was, not for Avalon........2001-02-06
I think that this book was a very good idea, but it is nothing like The Mists of Avalon, the book it was a tribute to. It was, however, a worthy achievement of those authors who contributed to the book. Some of the stories will be forever memorable in my mind. I loved this book, and I hope that all fantasy fans at least give it credit for effort!
It was okay...........2000-08-15
A tribute to the influence of Marion Zimmer Bradley, Return to Avalon is a collection of short stories devoted to the fantasy genre. Authors include Melanie Rawn, Diana L. Paxton, Laura Resnick, Dave Wolverton, Katharine Kerr, Adrienne Martine-Barnes and others. I mostly enjoyed the book, but felt the publicity was misleading. It was not any sort of continuation of MZB's Avalon stories, nor were most of them connected to Avalon's legend in any way. The main focus in each story was finding strength within, communicating with the Goddess, and early Christians confronting the Old Religion. I feel that some of the authors did not have signficant talent relaying their creative ideas on paper.
Adequate but hardly stirring.......2000-01-22
It's difficult to tell what these stories have to do with Bradley's work, or what most of them have to do with any conception of Avalon. A handful are interesting, but most are simplistic or muddled--and few show real skill with words. They could easily have been collected under a different title, suggesting that the titular link to Bradley is more a marketing ploy than a developmental reality. I really don't recommend it.
A good read with a lot of variety.......1998-03-23
Overall, this was a great book with many interesting stories. Most of the stories were either great, or very pleasing to read. However, the only downfall of this book is the fact that a few not-so-good stories made it tough to read at times.

no wonder every one calls hi mthe worst writer in comics.......2005-03-18
The writer insults his fans, calls them 40 year old virgins who live in their parents basement when anyone dares say a bad word about his books, he is so bad he went from writing a bunch of books a month, to be currently fired off every book, from two companies, so you know how well the writing must be.
The characters do not act anythign liek they should, for example Hank Pym who in a bout of insainity 20 years ago slapped his wife once, and then faced trial for that and other crimes, and then reformed and and patched his life back together, him and his now ex-wife are even lovers again, everything is back to normal
or so it seemed till this writer, he writes him as a nut, everyone acts like he will beat his wife again over one slap 20 years ago, he all of a sudden hates women, when a mother dies he speaks badly about her, facts about his life are messed up.
but he's not the only one, Cap is shown as a man who can't even comfort kids who just lost a mother, Hawkeye insults the dead mother in front of her kids, everyone acts like the biggest jerks in the history of the world, nothing liek they are.
the new captain britan kills enemies, is unknown, yet is invited to join the team? she lectures the team on why killing is right and they don't know anythign about killing, yet the writer must have forget many avengers have killed, stoof trial over it at times.
so many plot holes pop up, i can't mention because it would spoil the book, but they are really really bad, stay far far away.
The Heart of a Paper Lion at Best.......2004-08-04
Despite some promising aspects, poor characterizations make this story arc one of the weakest in the title's near 500-issue history. The author succeeds in creating a moving and poignant event in the selfless heroic sacrifice of a young mother. In her resurrection however, she is saddled with a horribly cynical burden. For the most part, the Avengers are portrayed as a superhero team completely unable to function due their own personal problems, and lack of professionalism. Themes that could be quite effective are treated in jerky, unconvincing fashion. Long-time followers of the title will find several inexplicable developments, and unrecognizable charters.

Book Description
Being a new student at Avalon High has been exciting for Ellie, to say the least—she's an honor student, a star on the track team, and, oh yeah, dating the super-hot class president, Will. Who also happens to be the alleged reincarnation of King Arthur.
Ellie couldn't be happier to have Will in her life, but she's also worried that his estrangement from his parents is tearing him apart. To make matters worse, Will's doubt that he really is King Arthur could prevent the Merlin Prophecy—an age of enlightenment—from occurring. Can Ellie convince Will to believe in something that even she isn't sure about? And more importantly, can she get him to give his parents another chance?
With all the mythology and mysticism of avalon high, Meg Cabot's very first manga is indeed a tale for the ages.

Avalon High Coronation: Volume 1 The Merlin Prophecy
Ellie Harris is still just trying be a typical teenager. All she wants is to go to homecoming with her new boyfriend, Will, but that just doesn't seem possible when her boyfriend happens to be the reincarnation of King Arthur. Not to mention Ellie herself is the reincarnation of the Lady of the Lake, and apparently the fate of the world rest on their shoulders. To make matters worse, Ellie can't stop dreaming about Will's half brother, Marco, breaking out of the mental hospital he was put in after trying to kill Will!
Could the forces of darkness really be building and can Ellie and Will find the strength to stop them a second time?
Avalon High Coronation is the first MANGA book written by Meg Cabot. It's also the sequel to her novel Avalon High. Meg Cabot has written numerous books for teens and adults including All American Girl and Jinx. Her Princess Diaries series was made into two Disney movies and her 1-800-Where-R-You series has become a cable TV series.
The storyline is very interesting and I can see it's building for bigger things to come. I was very excited to see Morgan La Fay being added as a character. The artwork is very good and I will definitely be getting the next one.
One thing I didn't like was about half the book is back story but it's so vague you would still have to read the novel to know what is going on. On the bright side, the next book in the series should be really great.

Continue the series in novel format .......2007-10-08
I wish she would continue this series in actual novel format. The illustrations didn't go with the original descriptions in the book and the story was kind of weak. It could be so much better. There was such potential with Avalon High and it's being wasted in the graphic novel format.
A good book but..........2007-08-26
I am a Big Meg Cabot fan, and when I read the first Avalon High I LOVED it. But I was a little wary when I heard the sequel would be in a magna version, although it was a good book it was a little too short and most of the beginning was just a recap of the first book. Although it was a good book, I wouldn't buy it until the second part had come out that way you can go from one to the other.
Avalon High.......2007-08-23
I've always loved stories about Camelot and the round table and I found this a fun book to read. In Avalon High, by Meg Cabot, we find out what might happen if all the main characters from Camelot were reborn now to replay their rolls again, but they will have the chance to change the out come of this story, for better or worse.
I also really liked the art work done by Jinky Coronado. She does a great job of creating some very beautiful images for the story in #1 and is already working on #2.
you will love it!!.......2007-08-19
I loved this book so much! I love Meg Cabot and her books have always pleased me but this one was AMAZING!!! I mean- talk about cliff hanger! You will love this book! You are going to LOVE it!!!

Get a feel for Alaska.......1999-02-23
Ms. Goldstrand knows how to bring the reader into the story and what a story! Steve Buckner is the tall, dark and handsome Alaskan you'd really want to meet. Lauren pulls us into her life in rugged Alaska and has a wonderful comaraderie with her brother, Mark. If you want to see Alaska without really going there, this is the way to go. Alaskan Magic was truly magical.
