India Devlin has always appreciated her family's legacy: the lighthouse and the Delaware beachfront property named after it. As an adult, India is far more dedicated to her job as a criminal prosecutor in a nearby big city than she is to her hometown ties. When her brother Ry is murdered without explanation at the lighthouse, India is compelled to return home seeking answers. In Devlin's Light she finds far more than the answers to the mystery concerning her brother's death; she finds an exciting and passionate new lover, Nick Enright; her brother's' newly orphaned daughter; and her own aging aunt. India is torn between family ties, responsibility, and desire. Instead of finding resolution, she finds herself confronted with new choices, and is surprised to find that by returning to her small-town roots she enlarges her world.
Book Description
New York Times bestselling author Mariah Stewart sweeps readers to the shores of Delaware Bay with this captivating romance full of intrigue, mystery, and desire.
Though India Devlin left her hometown to pursue a brilliant career as a criminal prosecutor, she has always loved historic Devlin's Light, visiting as often as her busy schedule permits. But when her brother is found murdered on the steps of the lighthouse -- the town's namesake -- she returns to uncover who killed Ry. When her brother's good friend, Nick Enright, offers to help in her investigation, India accepts -- after all, he's the one who found Ry that night, and heard his mysterious last words.
As the list of suspects begins to narrow, India and Nick find themselves undeniably drawn to each other -- a feeling India isn't sure she is ready to admit. Soon a wonderful new emotion is glowing at Devlin's Light -- a sweet, irresistible, very mutual attraction -- intensifying with each wave that crashes on the beach of the enchanting town by the bay....

Devlin's Light.......2007-06-08
Devlin's Light takes you through the complex emotions of losing a brother and gaining a child right into deserting your pleasant stable life and into mystery and love.
This book moves rapidly and keeps you so involved with the characters that you feel as if they are good friends. You learn about life on an island and how quickly life can change.
An excellent read.
Tender love story,.......2004-07-06
I really enjoy getting lost inside someone elses life for a few wonderful hours every evening before going to bed. Devlin's Light by Mariah Stewart gave me exactly what it is that I crave (so to speak)in books of this fun nature. You won't be disappointed.
A Great Romance.......2003-01-06
This was a wonderfully tender romance that reads like a Nora Roberts book. The characters are well developed and the love story between India (Indy) and Nick is tender and realistic.
While India is looking for the killer of her brother she finds herself drawn to her brothers best friend and the last person to talk to Ry before he died. On top of all of this is Corrie Ry's adopted daughter from a previous marriage. Corrie is a great secondary character that helps move the plot along.
It was great to read a romance book that touched my emotions and was fun to read. This is a great romance that you don't want to miss out on.
For Fans of Nora Roberts' Trilogies.......2000-09-05
Rarely do I decide to review a group of books instead of just one. And, while I believe each one of these books can stand on its own, readers will be so enthralled with the Enright family, they will want to read them all. Much like the wonderful family series by Nora Roberts, these books are to be savored as some of the best relationship novels of the 1990s.
DEVLIN'S LIGHT set on Delaware Bay is the story of criminal prosecutor India Devlin and the first Enright sibling, marine biologist, Nick. And although there is more of a mystery in this story as India attempts to find out who killed her brother, it's the relationship with Nick that's at the forefront.
WONDERFUL YOU, set in Chester Co, PA is tells Zoey Enright's story as she falls in love with Ben Pierce, a childhood friend. There are some light moments in this story when Zoey, would rather eat take out than cook herself, is required to prepare a few dishes in order to help demonstrate cookware in her job on-the-air at a home shopping network.
In MOON DANCE, Stewart tells the story of the youngest Enright, ballerina Georgia. Set in the Maryland countryside, we find Georgia who wants one certain barn as a dance studio, while her nemesis, Matt, has planned to use it as a veterinary clinic.
The settings of these stories are all so vividly described, it's hard to imagine they're not real places. Readers will want to visit Devlin's Lighthouse, Zoey's Garden, The Bishop Inn, and the farm at Pumpkin Hill.
A common thread running through all three books is the matriarch of the family, Delia Enright, bestselling mystery novelist, who loves her children but does interfere perhaps a little too much, but always in a caring manner. Many readers will wish they had a mother like Delia!!! Readers will also be happy to know that Delia gets a love interest of her own in MOON DANCE.
Mariah Stewart's books, like Nora Roberts' sibling sagas, are not about murder, espionage, or mystery (although each book has a bit of intrigue as well) but are instead about relationships - between a man and a woman, between a woman and her mother, between sisters. I can't think of many writers who can do this better. In all her books, strong secondary characters abound. She creates a world the reader is reluctant to leave after the last page is turned. Thankfully, readers can look forward to more of the Enrights in PRICELESS which will be out in 1999. It can't be soon enough for this reviewer. Reading each book has been like visiting an old friend.
good mystery and romance.......1998-10-24
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were so good, you got a lift while reading this book. Nick was unbelieable. To think, a man like him, I would die for. This book is well worth reading

Enjoyed 3 of 6 stories........2007-09-22
I have been following Cathryn Fox's work since starting her Pleasure Games series. I enjoyed her story along with two others: Myla Jackson and Lisa Renee Jones' tales. It's a keeper for me eventhough I only liked 3 of 6 stories. I will reread them from time to time.
Alluring Tales.......2007-03-12
Lover's Locket by Cathryn Fox
Caira has spent years dreaming and fantasizing about the man with long dark hair whose portrait had been passed down in her family for generations. No man she's ever been out with has been able to compare to Zarek, even though she knows he's only a painting. While exploring a strange shop with an even stranger proprietor, Caira finds herself irresistibly drawn to a piece of antique jewelry called The Lovers Locket. The shop proprietor gives her the locket but warns her of the curse associated with it - if you recite the incantation etched into the silver locket, your true love will be revealed to you, but it comes with the price of the awakening of the Keeper of Darkness from his slumber. Disturbed by the similarity to a myth she was told as a child, Ciana decides to recite the incantation anyway.
Lover's Locket is a very hot and sexy story of curses, reincarnation and magic. I loved the personalities of the two main characters and everything they were willing to risk and give up for each other. The enduring theme of love conquering the most fearsome foe is well done in this tale and gives this anthology's theme a great start.
Kili's Ice Man by Delilah Devlin
Kili Wilder has been fascinated by the gladiator called the Ice Man for weeks and then got a chance to meet him when tasked with selling marketing spots. Gunnar Thorsson is instantly attracted to Kili until he overhears her referring to him as dim-witted. Now he thinks she's just another "gladiator groupie" who doesn't care about the man inside the warrior image. Gunnar manages to bribe his way into Kili's virtual reality fantasy and lets her see just what is inside him.
Kili's Ice Man was a great choice to follow the first story. Its science fiction world pulled me away and into the world of Kili and Gunnar. More hot sex and great world building would have been good, but this is a terrific reminder that people are not just what they appear to be on the surface and what you think you want, may only be part of the truth.
The Hottest One Night Stand by Lisa Renee Jones
On a quick trip to visit her family, Jessica Montgomery stops at a bar in Texas in an attempt to use the phone but instead sees a man that entrances her. Just as she puts aside her desire for this Latino man, her car breaks down and the only motel for miles has already rented out their last room. In the midst of a thunderstorm, the man from the bar reappears and offers to share his room with her. This quickly turns passionate as these two strangers become lovers. But what will happen when their brief escape from the world is over?
A richly sensual treatment of the story of the one-night stand that becomes more, The Hottest One Night Stand was also the story of the journey of two people from choosing work and solitude, to them having a chance to choose to be together. Intense emotions and characterizations make this a rich and introspective story at the same time it didn't skimp in the realm of sensuality and sexuality.
Out of the Shadows by Myla Jackson
Houston cop, TJ Evans, is a member of a special task force that is a permanent night shift - killing vampires. But TJ's mind isn't completely on his new job since he's still trying to figure out what went wrong between himself and his sexy next-door neighbor Cassidy Jones. After finally consummating their mutual attraction, she stopped taking his calls with no explanation. Now in the path of a Category 5 hurricane, TJ discovers just why Cassidy refused to see him.
Out of the Shadows was a great paranormal offering and I was really rooting for TJ and Cassidy to overcome the huge odds against them. I appreciated that the paranormal aspects of the story didn't overwhelm the romance as well as the great way the timeline of the slightly future-based world was integrated with some current events. There is a definite "ahhhhhh" moment at the end of the story.
A Familiar Kind of Magic by Sylvia Day
Having gone feral after the death of her prior warlock master, familiar Victoria St. John takes her small measures of revenge by seducing and turning the tables on the warlock that the High Council sends to tame her. She was more than a typical familiar and now Hunter Max Westin has arrived with orders to either tame her or kill her. But just who will be tamed?
A Familiar Kind of Magic had me absolutely engrossed from the first paragraph. The way Sylvia gives life to both the human and animal aspects of Victoria is amazing and I really want to have the abilities Victoria has. Max is a very attractive mix of strength, dominance and sensitivity that makes him irresistible. With hot sex, some BDSM and a wonderful paranormal world, this story is hot!
Tempting Grace by Sasha White
After countless requests for a date, ex-stripper Grace Walters has instead agreed to a one night stand with the handsome defense attorney Lukas Martin. Once he gets over his shock, he realizes something is wrong, Grace isn't behaving normally and she seems to be in some sort of shock. Now Lukas is troubled because he doesn't want to take advantage of Grace if she's vulnerable. But Grace says she needs him - what's a guy to do?
Tempting Grace was an enthralling slice of the lives of Grace and Lukas and speaks to the power of love that's given a chance and allowed to bloom. I always like Sasha's stories and was not surprised that I liked it although I was surprised at how long it made me consider the characters and just what their past history may have been. A very compelling story indeed!
Quick Silver by Vivi Anna
Sangria Silver is a Conveyor, a delivery professional for cargos that shouldn't be too closely questioned. Her latest delivery was a locked metal case that she was to be paid an exorbitant fee to deliver. After picking up the case and a portion of her fee, she was forced off the road by a semi-truck and the case burst open. Sangria breaks her number one rule - she sees what is inside the package. And the contents of that package consist of sex worker Vance Verona.
Quick Silver was a fun end to this anthology. The byplay between Sangria and Vance was a delight to watch and the hot sex and erupting passion was certainly what I was cheering to have happen. I think the futuristic and yet very familiar world only added to my enjoyment - and I've always wondered what anyone would want a Hummer for!
Alluring Tales: Awaken the Fantasy was a terrific set of stories by some of my favorite authors that I would recommend to anyone who wants some great short stories in a variety of sub-genres with hot sex and very engaging characters.

Lover's Locket by Cathryn Fox
Caira was fascinated by the portrait of a man that is hanging in her living room, what she doesn't know is that it is her lover from a past life, who was banished by a curse into this portrait. Only the incantation on the locket will free him, but his freedom will come with a high prize and a challenge.
Lover's Locket is a fascinating story that really bewitches its reader. Ms. Fox knows how to captivate her readers from the beginning. This story is a good start for the anthology.
Kili's Ice Man by Delilah Devlin
Gunnar was so interested in Kili that he became part of her virtual fantasy, but the big problem was that she chose a very primitive setting and he has to woo her in a very limited way.
Ms. Devlin wrote with Kili's Ice Man a funny, sexy and really interesting story. Just to come up such an idea is really hilarious. One really suffers with Gunnar when he finds out what kind of situation he has landed himself in.
The Hottest One Night Stand by Lisa Renee Jones
Jessica is depressed that her husband left her not only because he has another girlfriend but also because he said that she was sexually suppressed. Will a one-night stand with a sexy stranger awaken the sensual woman in her?
The Hottest One Night Stand is the story of a woman, who finds out that there is a very sensual woman lurking in her and how she finds a way to free this part of her personality. It's a very sexy story.
Out of the Shadows by Myla Jackson
Cassidy hoped that there would be a chance to be with TJ Evans, but one momentous night destroyed all her hopes. TJ would never be able to love a vampire and she feared that she would hurt him or worse.
Out of the Shadows is a wonderful and emotional story. It will keep glued to the pages, because you want to know what happens next to TJ and Cassidy.
A Familiar Kind of Magic by Sylvia Day
Victoria loves nothing more than mischief, so it is no surprise that the High Council assigns Max Westin to collar and tame her. A battle of wills starts and neither Victoria nor Max knows who will become the seducer.
A Familiar Kind of Magic is a wonderful story that is absolutely spell-binding. You will absolutely fall in love with these characters. Ms. Day did a terrific job with this story and it's a real keeper.
Tempting Grace by Sasha White
As a former bad girl, Grace is weary to accept the offer of help from the much younger Lucas, because she fears that she will loose her acceptance. But being bad can be so good?
No one can write better bad girl stories than Sasha White and she proves again with Tempting Grace. It's a great story.
Quick Silver by Vivi Ana
Sangria knows how to do her job as messenger/delivery person, but she is quite shocked when she discovers after an accident that her cargo was a real man, who is sexy as hell.
Ms. Ana delivered with Quick Silver a terrific futuristic story, which is really sexy. It's great end to a terrific anthology which brings seven different fantasies to life.
This reviewer was sorry when she reached the last page of the book; you just want to read more. You really have to keep your eye on those authors, because they write great stories

5 Klovers! Courtesy of CK2S Kwips & Kritiques.......2007-03-04
HarperCollins Avon Red has created an anthology of stories guaranteed to warm even the coldest winter night!
Wow! Individually, each of the stories in the anthology Alluring Tales - Awaken the Fantasy more than sizzle, but united in one hot little book, they are downright combustible! The title promises alluring tales, and it definitely delivers!
With some anthologies, you find several stories you like or love, and maybe a story or two that aren't quite up to par. It would be hard to find anyone who could say this about Alluring Tales - Awaken the Fantasy! Each story is just as good as the last one. I personally would be hard pressed to choose a favorite between them, and am very grateful I don't have to!
~ Lover's Locket by Cathryn Fox ~
When an old gypsy presses Caira to accept a mysterious locket, Caira finds love, and risks losing her soul to save his!
This is the first story I've ever read by Cathryn Fox, and I find myself compelled to look for more of her work after reading it. Lover's Locket is a surprisingly complex story of ancient curses, forbidden love, and reincarnation. I use the word complex due to its brevity. Fox has woven an intricate history for her leading lady in this story, proving her skill with the short story format.
~ Kili's Ice Man by Delilah Devlin ~
In a futuristic world, Kili attempts to ease her lust for her celebrity crush, the Ice Man, over her lunch hour with one quick virtual reality session in order to calm her nerves before a business meeting with him that very afternoon. But her VR fantasy man seems all too real...
I confess to a love of Science Fiction and I am always intrigued by Virtual Reality themes. I wasn't disappointed with Devlin's addition to this anthology! Kili programs her Virtual Reality session with what she believes is her dream man, but all bets are off when the Ice Man himself gets wind of her plan! Gunnar proves to be a remarkably sensitive he-man type, taking both Kili and the reader by surprise!
~ The Hottest One Night Stand by Lisa Renee Jones ~
One stormy night and a broken down car bring Jessica the opportunity to find her sexuality with a sexy and compelling stranger. But he soon proves to be something very different from what he seems...
I wanted to read this anthology because of Lisa Renee Jones contribution to it, having thoroughly enjoyed other stories written by her. Even had I not enjoyed any of the other stories in this anthology, Jones' story would still have made this a worthwhile read! She reaches into every woman's fantasy of an anonymous encounter with a dangerous man, and then turns the tables on both the leading lady and the readers when he turns out to be so much more!
~ Out of the Shadows by Myla Jackson ~
What will a Vampire Hunter do when the woman he loves becomes the very thing he hates above all else?
From the very start, Jackson fosters empathy for her hero, with the reader sharing his confusion and frustration for the woman he loves. When we are finally allowed insight as to her reasons for turning TJ away, our heart breaks for both of them.
~ A Familiar Kind of Magic by Sylvia Day ~
Who will really be tamed when a powerful Warlock, Max, tries to collar the rogue Familiar, Victoria?
With A Familiar Kind of Magic, Day proves a woman can find strength and power in letting go. Max proves himself as a gentle and sly Dominant when he sets out to tame Victoria, simultaneously empowering her and allowing her to unleash the needs she has subjugated for years.
~ Tempting Grace by Sasha White ~
Ex-stripper turned Probation Officer Grace isn't looking for love, and especially not with the minister's son, Lukas. But Lukas proves persistent, and persistence has a way of paying off...
Sasha White is also a new author for me, and I will recommend her without reservation to anyone interested in this genre! She has included a wonderful contemporary tale that proves love isn't always where we expect it to be, nor in the form we anticipated.
~ Quick Silver by Vivi Anna ~
Sangria knows this delivery is trouble waiting to happen - a suspicion more than confirmed when an ambush gives her a good look at the merchandise she is transporting!
I'm not quite certain just how Vivi Anna included so much plot in so few words, but she did - and did it well! Sangria's tale is one of loneliness and hardship, but she finds a way out in the most unlikely of places...
entertaining erotic tales .......2007-03-03
"Lover's Locket" by Cathryn Fox. All she needs is love, but Caira has no hope of finding her beloved until she opens up a locket that sends her on a quest to free Zarek.
"Kili's Ice Man" by Delilah Devlin. Kili and the gladiator Ice Man meet, but nothing goes right yet they want to meet again.
"The Hottest One-Night Stand" by Lisa Renee Jones. After a horrific divorce, Jessica vowed never again will she be in a long term relationship again until she meets the stranger Dominic and covets infinite nights and days.
"Out of the Shadows" by Myla Jackson. Vampire hater T.J. covets his neighbor Cassidy until he learns his beloved has quite a bite.
"Tempting Grace" by Sasha White. Feeling depressed and all alone, Grace turns to Luke for warmth and sex while insisting one night is all she desires and one night after that and after that, etc.
"A Familiar Kind of Magic" Sylvia Day. Max the dominant warlock plans to seduce Victoria the temptress into being his submissive, but she supposedly prefers being on top too even as they share telepathically their inner secrets.
"Quick Silver" by Vivi Ana. New States of America Conveyor Sangria is delivering special cargo, Vance the sex worker to Vegas, but they have time for a tryst or three.
These entertaining seven erotic tales cross several genres but share in common heat that make the temperature of Mercury seem more like Neptune.

Book Description
Living organisms are subject to fluctuating environmental conditions. Whereas most animals are able to move away from unfavourable conditions, plants are sessile and so must cope with whatever comes their way. Of all the environmental cues that challenge the developing plant, light can probably be considered to be the most important. In addition to its key role in plant metabolism, and hence almost all life on Earth, where it drives the process of photosynthesis, light energy also acts to regulate plant growth and development. Light quantity, quality, direction and diurnal and seasonal duration regulate processes from germination, through seedling establishment to the architecture of the mature plant and the transition to reproductive development. These developmental responses of plants to light constitute photomorphogenesis. This volume is designed to provide the reader with state-of-the-art accounts of our current knowledge of the major classes of higher plant regulatory photoreceptors and the signal transduction networks that comprise plant developmental photobiology. Consideration is also given to the ways in which knowledge of plant photoreceptors and their signalling networks can be exploited, for instance to improve the quality and productivity of commercially-grown plants. The book is directed at researchers and professionals working in plant molecular biology, plant physiology and plant biochemistry.

Chilling and hard to put down! .......2004-07-30
It was some ten years ago when Patricia Devlin was blessed with the opportunity to speak to St. Michael. I got chills when Pat asked him about the Gulf War and our Country's relations with the Middle East. Pat said the archangel wept with such sorrow...
Anyone would be shocked if they were told that Pat had her eyes surgically removed because she is able to see the light of angels! This is not just another fictional novel, this is real and we really do have guardian angels. This book has deepened my faith and changed how I view angels. With the world as it is today, we need their help! The book also deals with Saints and our Blessed Mother Mary. Patricia Devlin has inspired me with the wisdom confinded in this book.
The Light of Love by Patricia Devlin.......2001-11-12
This is truely a book to enhance your everyday living. It is one that will help you, not only know you have a guardian but put you in touch with yours and help you begin to pray and ask help of all the angels. Patricia's story is not only a story of bravery in the face of many obstacles (Patricia is completely blind and has much suffering to endure)but one of God's love for us that He would permit communications between a human and these heavenly creatures so that we might learn of His great love and care for us. Patricia's writing (another amazing thing since she uses a braille machine to help record her messages) will surely keep you reading and learning about your own spiritual life while being amazed at hers and the wonders God has performed in her soul.
This book has made a big difference in my daily prayer life and has helped me make the angels an important part of my existance.
Her view of suffering and uniting our life and suffering with that of Our Lord's, is a real blessing and one to help all who have open hearts and are open to God's plan for us.
This is well worth your money and time.
A Transforming Read.......2001-01-17
This book tells the story of Patricia Devlin, a woman who is blind but who was blessed by God with many gifts, including the gift of being able to communicate with her guardian angel. She chronicles various conversations she has had with angels about the love of God and what He wants in our lives, and also talks about the usefulness of pain and suffering and how it can be offered to God for the salvation of others. This is an amazing and yet very true account which I highly recommend.
Messages from God's Messingers........2000-03-03
Patricia Devlin was certain she was "loosing it" when she could see light (since she was blind and even had her eyes removed at a young age)and heard voices. Her sincere writing chronicles her conversations with her guardian angel and others. The book was fascinating and I have never thought of angels in the same way since reading this book.
Outstanding.......1999-06-01
This book is a cook book by God on how he wants us to live our short lives on earth. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand God's plan for each of us.

Customer Reviews:
A New Vamp Society that may be a promising series.......2007-09-14
This is the 1st writing of Deliah Devlin's that I have read and I plowed right through the book. I won't go through the synopsis since it's readily available.
The book was hard to put down, needing to see what happened next to our new emerging Born vamp Natalie, and her reluctant at first mate, Rene who is human and their future.
The good vamps (Born) vs. bad vamps (Bitten Rogues) are a little reminiscent of the Crimson City vamp society struggles to me. If Devlin continues on with a series, it looks like we may find some of our good vamps are really nasty little dictators, our rogues may not be all that bad and characters from this book may play a leading role in a coup. Time will tell, lots of room to play with.
Rene is yummy HOT. He and Natalie certainly burn up the sheets. Our secondary gal/guy Chessa & Nic are just as hot and we should be reading more about them I would guess.
As others have warned this is an erotic paranormal with hot sex and a lot of it. Yes, some girl/girl sex. Not my cup of tea, so just skip over that part as I do. However, there is also a very good story here with all the elements of a strong series.
Into the Darkness.......2007-07-24
Natalie Lambert's life is in turmoil. First her parents were murdered, then her roommate, and now the world has gone crazy! She returns to New Orleans in search of her birth mother and the killer that stalks her, but instead she is attacked by killer birds and locusts and discovers sexual desire for the first time. Can she make any sense of things before the killer catches her too?
New Orleans Police Detective Rene Broussard knows there are things that go bump in the night... after all, his partner is a vampire! Yet even he is shocked at the strange things that occur around Natalie. He takes her into protective custody, but soon wonders who will protect the little innocent from his own raging desire?
Natalie's hormones are raging and although she doesn't understand them, she follows her instincts and sets into motion a chain of events that will change everyone's lives.
Into the Darkness is a step into another world. Delilah Devlin easily weaves fantasy with reality, creating something spectacular in Into the Darkness. Natalie had no idea who or even what she was until she met up with Rene and his strange partner, Chessa Tomas. Watching the changes she goes through was both fascinating and erotic. She and Rene are great together and as they learn more about her needs, they also learn more about each other and their desires. I really liked seeing the progression and the growth of their feelings for each other. Into the Darkness is a fast-paced page-turner full of fantastic characters and a whole lot of sexual tension - this is one story you won't want to miss.

It doesn't matter if Natalie Lambert is a suspect or a victim, good cops do not get involved with either. At least, that is what Rene Broussard keeps trying to tell himself when he is tasked with protecting her overnight - at his own home. In his own bed, even. But as the beautiful virgin vampire comes into heat for the first time, she proves as irresistible as she is determined when she sets her mind on seducing Rene!
Natalie can't explain the desire she feels for Rene - something she has never felt before. Even harder for her to understand is this strange urge she has to bite him...
When an unknown threat terrorizes Natalie, murdering those she loves most, she is swept up in the arms of a new family - one she never knew existed - who will stop at nothing to protect her.
Delilah Devlin is a relatively new author for me, and I am enjoying what I have read from her so far immensely! Her new vampire story, Into the Darkness, is no exception. This is actually the first full-length novel I've read by this author, and she proves herself as capable in this format as she is with a short story.
Be warned, Devlin's vampire society lives by a set of mores that are atypical to human society, and readers must learn to adjust along with Rene, who is also human. As Rene grows to accept the strange new world he is thrust into, we are provided the opportunity to gain the same acceptance through his eyes, easing both him and the reader into this new world.
Natalie is a wonderful leading lady to Rene's hero, and is simultaneously sweet and innocent, yet bold and sensual, providing Rene no quarter as her newfound sexuality asserts itself.
The more sensitive readers should be aware that this book contains elements that may be too titillating for delicate sensibilities, including a ménage scene and a female/female scene. While I usually do not choose books with female/female content, the scene fit with the peculiarities of the vampire culture in Devlin's story, and I didn't find it offensive or out of place.
While Rene's & Natalie's story is complete in this book, the author creates opportunity for possible sequels with some very interesting supporting characters. I know I will definitely be keeping an eye out for a sequel!
One Hot Book!.......2007-04-18
This is the story of one "Born" vampire's transformation from human to total immortal. The problem is Natalie is being hunted by Those who would see the "Borns" annihilated. Her protectors are the unsuspecting detective Rene and his all too knowing partner, Chessa.
Rene cannot resist Natalie during her change nor can she resist the urge to mate and feed for they are one and the same to a vampire. Chessa is aware of the danger Natalie is in and knows Who can help her.
This is a very erotic book with lots of vivid and explicit love scenes. The main protags engage in sex with other people, and there are girl/girl, and girl/girl/guy sex scenes.
terrific vampiric erotic romance .......2007-03-30
Following the murders of her parents, Natalie Lambert comes to New Orleans to uncover the identity of their killer. Instead, she is bitten by a creature of the night. To her chagrin, confusion and euphoria Natalie finds she has radically changed since the assault; for she craves sexual passion, an emotion she never felt before the nip on her neck. Other desires are almost as haunting as her sexual appetite. On the down side the animal kingdom has it in for her as she becomes a victim of attacking killer birds and locusts of biblical proportion.
NOPD Police Detective Rene Broussard rescues Natalie from another attack. However, he is unable to remain professionally attached as he cannot resist her lure. The next morning he finds himself in bed with this beauty and a hunger for her like nothing he ever felt before. She reciprocates his feelings as her vampire nature surfaces with his touch. However, one (make that numerous) bites, nips, and caresses, etc. later, the pairs knows they must fight against an evil that is using Hurricane Katrina as a cover to kill vampires especially easy marks like these two in love fledglings.
This is a terrific vampiric erotic romance starring a virgin vampire (making her a unique protagonist) and the cop who rescues her from various attacks and her new sexual cravings. The story line is hot from the first bite to the last bite while the police procedural elements take somewhat of a back seat to the vampiric lust and love of the lead duet. Fans of torrid paranormal romantic suspense will appreciate the two rookies hoping for an eternity of love while praying for surviving a lethal serial killer.
