hilarious.......2007-10-02
I read Knuffle Bunny for my children's literature class and I literally laughed out loud from it. The pictures are comical and perfectly expressive and Trixie is a riot. Mo Willems truly encaptured the actions/behavior of a child in such a situation in Trixie...going boneless....genius. Every child should read this book. I highly reccommend it.
A Book to Appeal to All Ages.......2007-09-11
On a whim, I checked this book out of the library this summer for my youngest son, who is five. When I read it to him, we were both delighted. We laughed our heads off and read it three times back to back. I then brought it home and read it to my two older children, ages 12 and 8. They also thought it was hilarious. My 12 year old actually read it several more times that evening. Later that night, my husband and I read it and laughed over the illustrations. This is the classic story of parents and children everywhere. We could identify with both the parent and the child who lost the "lovey."
A huge thumbs up from our whole family.
If you love to hear your children laugh read this book.......2007-08-19
This is a fast read and it makes my daughters ages 2 and 7 laugh so hard every time they hear it. The art doesn't appeal to me personally but my kids seem to enjoy it. I enjoy the story. I don't see it as " a child misbehaving 90% of the book". I laugh at how parents misunderstand children and every suffer for it. Have to sign off because the girls are insisting I read this book right now because it is "hilarious".
Great, short bedtime book.......2007-08-01
This is a short, fun book. Not much to it but the story is fun. I like to have short books around near bedtime so my son doesn't make me read through a long one like Cars and Trucks and Things That Go. The back jacket also has a mug shot of Mo Willems, the author. The picture looks a little like me and when I first read it to my son he thought it was me.
Parents will love getting asked to read this!.......2007-07-27
If you have a toddler, you are going to laugh your head off when you see the page where the kid goes "boneless"!! Oh yeah, we have all been there, and it is every parent's nightmare. You can read this book every night to your kids and never get sick of it! Buy it for your kids, buy it for new parents (Just to freak them out about what they are in for!!), and buy one to read to your future grandkids, too. If you don't love it, you are taking life too seriously!!

Chronicles of Ancient Darkness.......2007-07-09
I purchased this book for my son who is 13 years old and has never been interested in reading books. I homeschool my son and I purchased the first book in this series "Wolf Brother" for him to read for school. What a GREAT FIND! He loved the book and asked for the next two in the series. My daughter and I have read the series also. We can't wait for book #4 to come out. This series has very high energy, lots of action and it is an interesting read.
In the great forests of ancient times, Torak and his friend, Renn, once again hunt........2007-06-05
In the great forests of ancient times, Torak and his friend, Renn, once again hunt. With them is the giant wolf dog who is never far from Torak's side. Everything seems normal to them until Torak comes across the feather of the fierce eagle owl, which is a bad omen. Though Torak throws it away, the hunt is spoiled when a giant eagle owl swoops from the tree tops and scares their prey away. Then, unexpectedly, Wolf darts away as if in pursuit of new prey. Though they try to follow, he easily out-distances them.
After some debate they decide to continue their hunt for Wolf and not go back to their Raven tribe. Little do they know what this decision will mean as they struggle deeper and deeper into uncharted, frozen lands. This is the beginning of the end for Torak and Renn.
In the meantime, Wolf has fallen into a trap set by the dreaded Soul Eaters; he has been beaten, drugged and caged. The Soul Eaters are in the process of gathering the fiercest animal hunters to sacrifice. It is the strength of these hunters that will help make the Soul Eaters the strongest tribe. They are power hungry, evil and reek of rotting flesh as they move forward with their evil plan.
Without the help of the White Fox Clan, Torak and Renn might have perished. When attacked by the winter bear, it is Fox Clan member Inuktiluk who helps them and takes them to the frozen river so they can attempt to cross into the dangerous unknown. But even in their worst dreams, they have no idea how horrible it will be when at last they find the beloved animal.
...The tip of Wolf's bushy silver tail was matted with dried blood: but it wasn't that which turned [Torak] ill with fear. It was the slimy greenish-black flesh which showed through in patches. Flesh which stank of rottenness.
"It's the blackening sickness," said Renn. "It's poisoning him. The worms of sickness are eating him up from inside."
Once again, Michelle Paver has created a magical world in which good and evil are constantly at war. Torak and Renn are more fully realized as their characters mature and endure harrowing experiences. Paver's writing is fluid and strong, capturing the language, landscape and personalities of this ancient time. Readers of the first two installments of the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series will be thrilled with this story --- probably the most powerful book yet.

A considerable improvement........2007-04-20
I enjoyed Wolf Brother but hated Spirit Walker and I was weary that this entry in the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series was going to be just as meandering and slow. Fortunately it's not and it's just as good as the first book.
Wolf is kidnapped by the evil Soul Eaters so Torak and Renn must chase after them into The Far North to rescue him. Their chase brings them to the Eye of the Viper, a cave deep, deep in a mountain where the Soul Eaters have made their lair and intend to sacrifice 9 hunters to unleash demon hoardes under their control upon the world.
The mythology is getting a tad out of hand though. I don't know whether these forest people simply don't understand science and physics and mistake everything for fate, miracles and magic or if it's just their ancient point of view trying to make sense of it. That complaint aside, it's a good book that you'll not want to put down until you've finished it. It's way more fast moving than Spirit Walker and brings the COAD series back on track.
Great series........2007-04-07
It was a cool book. I like how it took place on a icy snowy mountain. Can't wait for the fourth book to come out!! This from the mouth of an adventurous 10 year old boy.
Great Companion Book for the Series.......2007-03-20
While this book has many surprising twists and turns, it is enjoyable and fun to read. Once again we follow Torak, Wolf, and Renn viewing them all, from there point of view.
Very mild changes do happen though, such as, Wolf now calls Renn 'The Pack Sister' instead of 'Female Tailess'. And Renn also has a much major role in the book then say in WOLF BROTHER, and also the book switches to her view more.
This is a very enjoyable book and I recomend it to any one from 10-100.

Book Description
A Carpathian event-the new hardcover from the phenomenal New York Times bestselling author.
Christine Feehan returns to the sensual Carpathian world that has earned her a reputation as "the queen of paranormal romance" (USA Today) in a new novel of true love and the unnatural forces that could destroy it.
Dangerously close to becoming a vampire, Manolito De La Cruz has been called back to his Carpathian homeland-and has unexpectedly caught the scent of his destined lifemate, MaryAnn Delaney. MaryAnn is human and well aware of the aggressive instincts of Carpathian males. A counselor for battered women, MaryAnn has no room in her life for someone like Manolito. But when she goes to South America to offer guidance to a young woman, she has no idea of the trap awaiting her. For she's been lured there by Manolito, who has seductive plans for the irresistible human female.
Once there, she'll be his. Once his, she'll never be released. She is his dark possession.
Customer Reviews:
Not sure if it is worth buying in hardback, but if you like the series, you will probably suck it up! I know I did........2007-10-10
I must first explain my earlier comment and then move on to the review. When I found out that Feehan was coming out with a new novel about the deliciously sexy, yet moody Carpathian Manolito De Le Cruz and whitty, fashionista Mary Ann Delaney, I preordered and didn't really pay attention to the cost, or that now the novel was is hardback. Well, if I had known, I would have probably tried to get it from the library (if I just couldn't wait) or waited patiently for the paperback version (although don't get me wrong, the book was good), because it seemed to be the same quality and amount of her paperbacks. That is perhaps my biggest con about the book.
Now the pros! Finally a story devoted solely to Manolito and his stuggle to (1) remain Carpathian and not become a vampire; (2) not fall prey to the seduction of several vampires he has killed in the past (he is in between the spirit world and the real one); (3) claim his lifemate, who is reluctant to even get in a relationship with a man, especially a dominate male carpathian; and (4) basically, fight all those things threatening to claim his soul and make him evil. On the other hand, Mary Ann, his reluctant lifemate (introduced in other novels) is struggling with her own personal demons, and it would seem everyone elses. (She is in the rain forrest to help cure some women who have been brutalized by some wereleopards). Mary Ann has just learned that (1)she is the lifemate of a dominate male; (2) an attack in her past has left her not trusting men; and (3) she soon learns that not only may she be psychic, but much more.
As the two find love, we are introduced to new characters (Luis) and reintroduced to old ones (Manolito's brothers and some of their lifemates, as well as those under their protection). And the best scene is seeing big bad Manolito painting Mary Ann's toes! Now who else could but Feehan could make you laugh that hard?
Well, in conclusion,I read Dark Possession in two days on a trip to Charleston, and enjoyed it. You have everything that makes a great Feehan novel....romance, great sex scenes and a good plot. But is it worth the hard cover price, that is up to you to decide.
Dark Possession.......2007-10-09
I really like this book Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed this book.
The De La Cruz's brothers never look so tempting until now.......2007-10-08
I waited impatiently for this book but ironically I forgot about it for some time until it was giving to me as an early gift and once more, I was not disappointed. I have been a fan of Christine Feehan from the first Carpathian novel and own most of her novels. I for one was not disappointed and establish this book a great addition on my shelf. In here we have our hero on the verge of becoming a vampire; Manolito De La Cruz is called back to his Carpathian homeland and unexpectedly finds his destined life mate, MaryAnne Delaney, who has no idea of the lengths that Manolito will go through to keep his mate.
Well after reading this I found the characters to be strong, absorbing, and very hard to ignore in different ways. I did wish, however, for more of a continuance of the story from the "Celebration". Like what happened to Manolito from the time he was stabbed till he woke to early in the rainforest? How did he manage to convince Mary Ann to take a journey with people she didn't know? What exactly did Gregori do to bring Manolito back - and (while I understand the concept) what exactly did he do during his journey to the tree of life to retrieve Manolito's spirit. Since this spirit journey has great deal to do with the actual story line, I wish that it had been better explained. I enjoyed meeting Vlad and his life mate in the shadow world, but wondered why Ivory wasn't there with them. Is this another story? Is she really dead? Enquiring minds want to know or am I asking too much.
I liked meeting some of the new old ones for pretty much the first time. There will be readers (dedicated fans really) that will be put off by Feehan's direction. And this story definitely threw in some new factors that hadn't been really mentioned in previous books. I'm sure if you loved her other books and actually pick this one up, you're going to love it. A must read for paranormal lovers and romance lovers alike. This book along with her other work makes you feel you're actually a character taking part in the story and not just reading it at a distant. This book draws you in completely and keeps you there and if you lucky it might even take you away. I wouldn't mind reading Zacharias' story next but here's hoping.
Awesome Job!.......2007-10-07
This is definitely one of my most favorite books in the Dark Series collection. I love the dynamics between Manolito and MaryAnn, the introduction of a new species, and the various story lines (potential indepedent novels). To be honest, I was not a fan of the books that focused on the De La Cruz family. However, this book has definitely opened my mind more to them and has me looking forward to stories involving the remaining De La Cruz brothers.
Christine did a fantastic job and, once again, proves why she is the queen of paranormal romance. :~) Excellent job Christine...thank you!
Atmospheric and sexually charged dark fantasy. .......2007-10-06
Dark Possession is an unabridged audiobook about the sensual bond between Carpathian near-vampire Manolito De La Cruz and his human destined lifemate, MaryAnn Delaney. Scenes of explicit adult content are present in this atmospheric and sexually charged dark fantasy. 12 CDs, approximately 13 hours.

"Literary critics make natural detectives," says Maud Bailey, heroine of a mystery where the clues lurk in university libraries, old letters, and dusty journals. Together with Roland Michell, a fellow academic and accidental sleuth, Maud discovers a love affair between the two Victorian writers the pair has dedicated their lives to studying: Randolph Ash, a literary great long assumed to be a devoted and faithful husband, and Christabel La Motte, a lesser-known "fairy poetess" and chaste spinster. At first, Roland and Maud's discovery threatens only to alter the direction of their research, but as they unearth the truth about the long-forgotten romance, their involvement becomes increasingly urgent and personal. Desperately concealing their purpose from competing researchers, they embark on a journey that pulls each of them from solitude and loneliness, challenges the most basic assumptions they hold about themselves, and uncovers their unique entitlement to the secret of Ash and La Motte's passion.
Winner of the 1990 Booker Prize--the U.K.'s highest literary award--Possession is a gripping and compulsively readable novel. A.S. Byatt exquisitely renders a setting rich in detail and texture. Her lush imagery weaves together the dual worlds that appear throughout the novel--the worlds of the mind and the senses, of male and female, of darkness and light, of truth and imagination--into an enchanted and unforgettable tale of love and intrigue. --Lisa Whipple
Book Description
An exhilarating novel of wit and romance, an intellectual mystery, and a triumphant love story. This tale of a pair of young scholars researching the lives of two Victorian poets became a huge bookseller favorite, and then on to national bestellerdom.
Customer Reviews:
I tried but I couldnt read it.......2007-08-27
I really tried. I came here to Amazon to see if I was the only one who struggled with this book. I wasn't. The effort finally became too much and I am giving up after reading about a third of this book. Life is too short
Provocative.......2007-08-11
I found the weaving together of different styles in this book delightful and utterly satisfying. I'm the sort of person who often has two or three books going, who needs a regular poetry fix, who reads literary criticism with the proverbial grain of salt. If you take "LITERATURE" super-seriously, you probably won't like the book, because, well, you'll get made fun of. But if you are willing to enter a story with childlike belief and follow the author down unexpected side roads, if you enjoy observing a person's creative work for what it reveals about their character, well, this book supplies all of that. The fact that it has provoked such passionately opposite reviews is, to me, simply an indication that it has substance.
Arrogant and Boring.......2007-06-22
I've read a few short stories by Ms. Byatt and found them all to be intriguing, thus, I had high hopes that this book would be interesting and unique - an intelligent, romantic novel perhaps. I was wrong, so wrong. The first third of the book moved quite slowly. The reader gets introduced to two literary scholars one (a man) who studies a famous male Victorian poet and the other (a woman) who studies a famous female Victorian poet. I didn't like either scholar. The central one-third of the book is dedicated to 'uncovering' lost love letters that the poets wrote to each other. The letters are boring, the poetry is bad, the thoughts about religious agnosticism are anachronistic. Now, two-thirds of the way through the book, I have decided that I don't like the Victorian poets either and couldn't care less if they loved each other or committed mass murder. The last third of the book brings the reader back to the present with our literary scholars dealing with academic politics, a budding romance and growing academic reputations based on finding the lost letters of the Victorian poets.
I didn't like the book because there was no humor or humility in any of the characters. The atmosphere of the book was very chilly. No one is ever warm or comfortable or happy. I hated this book. I would have been better off reading a sappy romance with stilted writing.
A British epic.......2007-06-12
This is British literature at its height. A love story within a love story, Possession takes the reader through the characters' intimate obsessions with themselves, each other, and their work. And like most British novels, much of the action of this book takes place within rather than externally. What makes Possession a "Classic" (as the Booker Prize attests to) is the way the author blends the voices of the main characters through direct narrative, diaries, epic poems, and various other writings woven throughout the book. The mixture of letters between characters, love poems spanning centuries, journal entries, travel logs, and mythical allusions on which the story is built is more impressive here than in any other work I've read. For the literary minded, this book stands out among others.
For People Who Love Literature.......2007-01-06
This is one of the best books I have read. It combines poetry, romance, and a detective story--what more could you ask for? While the subject is academic, the prose is lively and engaging and you can't wait to see what will happen next. It's like a literary "Da Vinci Code" without the continuous cheesy escapes. If you are looking for a "romance novel," then this isn't for you. If you seek a thought-provoking work that will move you, then pick this up.

I'm glad I FOUND this.......2007-06-10
I'm nosy - not in a malicious way, but others' yearnings, secrets, and day-to-day lives fascinate me. The items documented in "Found" range from hilarious to heartbreaking, and it is a fascinating glimpse into human nature. It's a great bathroom read. It's also reassuring to know other people like reading crumpled notes they found on the library floor or gazing at pictures pressed between the pages of an old book.

Delightful.......2007-09-24
This is a delightful book that I purchased for my five year old granddaughter. She enjoys looking for the lost items.
Simon keeps loosing his things and imagine my surprise when my granddaughter decided I should be called Simon since I had misplaced my glasses and found them again.
Beautifully Illustrated.......2007-07-30
I discovered this book at our local book store and fell in love with it immediately. My 3 1/2 year daughter found it equally enthralling and she loves to pick out all the lost items along the tale of the story. The historic locations really set this book apart.
What I found most interesting however is the section in the back of the book. It has mini-illustrations of each page and provides information on the location of each backdrop, when things were built, etc., and other historical tidbits, some regarding why children like [that particular park], for example. My daugher loves that section as well and always chooses a couple for me to read aloud to her. It's a great addition to a children's library.
An unqualified masterpiece...!.......2007-07-29
I'm a big fan of Barbara McClintock's work, and this is perhaps her finest book to date, a gorgeously detailed romp through Paris in the pre-World War era. Adele and Simon are a sister-brother pair whose afterschool adventures take them to various Parisian landmarks, and along the way Simon loses almost all his school supplies and half his clothes, with Adele, the older sister, desperately trying to maintain some semblance of order. Both the writing and the artwork are of the highest order: this is an intelligent, beautifully rendered children's book -- a real class act. (ReadThatAgain!)
Outstanding book in a lovely Parisian setting.......2007-03-26
This is a wonderful book about a big sister and her little brother who is constantly losing things. What is especially enchanting are the wonderfully detailed illustrations. Look for each lost item on each page. There are also a few of McClintock's hidden surprises within the pages.

My 4 year old Daughter absolutely loves this book. She relates, since she has a little brother like the character Adele. The illustrations are georgeous. This is definetely a favorite for mother and daughter :)

The Antichrist is dead... or is he? The city of Chicago lies in ruins, the safe house is blown, and the Global Community police are hot on the heels of the Tribulation Force. And who assassinated Nicolae Carpathia?
It's a formidable challenge to keep the attention of an audience midway through a projected 12-volume series, but with their trademark blend of humor and gripping suspense, authors Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye continue to captivate readers with The Indwelling, the seventh installment of the Left Behind series.
Carpathia's funeral takes a hair-raising turn for the 4 million people who attend. Over the crowd looms the centerpiece of a new world religion, a 24-foot bronze statue of Carpathia, belching black smoke and demanding obedience. Woven through the fast-paced drama are the ongoing stories of people struggling amid the end-times mayhem: Chloe Williams wrestles with the moral implications of killing her toddler Kenny to avoid having him fall into enemy hands; her father Rayford Steele is brought face-to-face with the consequences of his pride. Dr. Chaim Rosenzweig, a prominent Jewish Israeli statesman, ponders a conversion to Christianity.
The strength of the series comes from Jenkins's ability to keep the action moving and readers caring about the characters. And there's a hook: The end of The Indwelling promises, "If the last three and a half years are your idea of tribulation, wait until you endure the Great Tribulation." The bad news is just beginning. But, the Tribulation Force believes, good news is also on the way. --Cindy Crosby

Just one more book in the all-encompassing, enthralling, and utterly absorbing Left Behind Series.......2007-09-14
From the very first letter of the alphabet that my eyes looked upon inside this series of books, until the very last period of the very last sentence, I was hooked. Each one of these books absorbed my attention like no other book has ever done in my life. Biblically sound, theatrically entertaining, and brilliantly written, the Left Behind books will inspire you to dig into God's word and take the pieces of news from your T.V. screen and match them right smack-dab up with the prophecies of the Bible. Your hair will stand up, your heart will race, and you will find yourself helplessly caught in the suspense. Once you finish one of these books, you will desperately race to your computer screen or your local library to pick up the next one!

Indeed, the Beast is taking Possession... of Your Money.......2007-09-11
Toward the top of this very page, the authors declare: "For some reason, I'm finding that a large percentage of people who greet us at signings, etc., and tell us they have read "all the books" actually haven't. They are largely unaware that between books 12 (Glorious Appearing) and 13 (Kingdom Come) we produced three prequels (The Rising, The Regime, and The Rapture). These need not be read before Kingdom Come (the final sequel), but if you're a Left Behind fan, you won't want to miss them.
Dr. LaHaye and I also have a new series -- fiction based on the gospels -- that began last November with John's Story: The Last Eyewitness. Late this year the second of the four titles, Mark's Story: The Gospel According to Peter will release. And, of course, we'll finish with Luke's Story and Matthew's Story. As always, I'd love to hear from you."
Indeed, they'd love to hear from you, to hear the sound of your money clinking in the cashbox of sanctimony. In addition to the Left Behind Series of 13 books, there are now audio-books (abridged and unabridged), parallel children's books (Children Left Behind!?! Have these sadists no shame?), movie versions, computer games (teaching bigotry and violence), and countless books pretentiously analyzing the novels as theology! And some people worry about Microsoft or Google accumulating too much influence! Just where is all the money going? What charity is Tim LaHaye supporting with his wealth? Bill Gates has a foundation to promote world health care. Can the false prophets account for their true profits?
This one has what was missing.......2007-02-28
I've enjoyed all the books in this series so far. As many critics have pointed out they are not great literature. But, they have certainly been fun reads. They are all action packed and easy to read. However, one thing that has always bothered me about them was that they were often very light on the tension and dread which I would imagine during the tribulation. This book was the first one in which I really began to feel that dread. For me, that was a huge step. It still isn't great literature, so maybe 5 stars is too genereous. But, after six books where I felt the horor of the time was glossed over I was happy to finally get that feel.
The Indwelling: The Beast Takes Possession (Left Behind #7).......2007-01-12
This book was given as a gift and was well received. The Indwelling is an excellent book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Another great book written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, this is another one to add to your book collection or to buy-read-and pass along.

WAY BEST!.......2007-09-22
This is by far the most useful book on decluttering I've read. It gets right down into your heart and helps you sort out what you find there. It doesn't tell you what products to buy, but helps you understand what blips in your brain chemistry or psychology may be contributing to the clutter problem, and suggests specific strategies for dealing with the various reasons.
A different way to look at your stuff (clutter).......2007-02-05
As others have written,I too have read many, many, MANY clutter, organizing, packrat books. I still have so many, they have contributed to the clutter. This was one of the good ones. My problem is not organizing my stuff-- I want to get rid of it. Most books give you detailed file organizing and specific instructions. I wanted to know WHY I couldn't let go of so many things. This may not be everyone's problem, but it was mine. Once I understood why, it actually helped to get rid of them - not organize them.
Great Information.......2006-11-10
I really enjoyed reading this one. I actually have a better understanding of myself and my stuff after reading this book.
Wow, there are other people out there like me!.......2006-11-07
...And they wrote a very helpful book about it!! Thanks!
Childish, Simplistic, Boring.......2006-10-15
I bought this book hoping to discover psychologically why we keep too many things and how to change the behavior. Also some tips on keeping spaces "things" free. Instead what I found was over-simplified cliches about Gary Keepitall or Lisa Hummingbirdbrain (I swear these are actual names she gives people in the book). There is a LOT of repitition, and really, who needs to know that to keep track of your schedule you could get - guess what, bet you never heard of it! - a day planner! Really? I could?
I think most of us know what we could do to keep track of our things, what a good book about making peace with your things might be about is how to do it, how to motivate yourself to do it and how you can overcome the behaviors that keep you from doing it. The one or two studies Glovinsky quotes in the book appear to be all the education on the topic she has, other than that she simply reiterates common sense - like buy a container for your things! - that anyone smart enough to order a book from Amazon is probably smart enough to already know. Please skip this book - unless you truly don't know about day planners or plastic bins.

Great to read to kids, fun for adults too.......2005-05-08
After I heard about this book on NPR, I had to get it. It was just as good as promised. The story is heartwarming and humorous, taking the reader on a journey with two cowboys who lost their favorite cow. It is also wonderfully paced so that after a few readings, children can chime in to say the cowboys' favorite meal ("Guess what?" "Beans!"). There is just enough text on each page so that children with short attention spans don't lose interest, and for children with longer attention spans, the beautiful and kid-friendly illustrations contain many fun details to discuss as you are reading. It's also typeset in big block letters that are easier to recognize for kids who are still learning the alphabet.
I bought this for my favorite nephew, but before giving it to him I ended up reading it through many times just to enjoy the story and pictures. I only managed to read it to him once, but in the thank you letter my sister wrote, "No one here reads the story quite like you do," and that makes me think he might have asked to have it read to him again.
our favorite book of all time.......2005-03-08
this story is wonderful and so are remy charlip's warm illustrations. it's nice to read a book about cowboys where the cowboys are really nice guys and good friends and cry when they lose their beloved cow, grace. so sweet, especially the very last page where charlip has re-worded the song amazing grace to sing about grace the cow.

Book Description
Kris Torrence wants to experience sexual submission to a man once in her lifetime. Having a reputation for being a sedate, boring professor, nobody at her university job suspects anything when she signs up to work for a five-day excursion at an exclusive gentlemen's resort catering to wealthy men seeking submissive sex slaves. Jack McKenna has been Dr. Kris Torrence's longtime nemesis. When he sees a naked woman walking around the resort whose long, dark red hair reminds him of the uptight professor who will have nothing to do with him, he decides to buy her. When he sees her face for the first time, Jack and Kris will both get the shock of a lifetime... "The Possession is an outstanding example of what a truly romantic erotic romance should be. Rich characterizations, engaging dialogue, and an explosive passion meld together to create a highly entertaining story." - Terrie Figueroa, Romance Reviews Today "This was my first Jaid Black story but I definitely plan on getting others... Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. The Possession is a well written, highly erotic story of 2 people who decide to do something different to shake up their lives and find love along the way." - Diane Mason, Sime~Gen, Inc.

Take Me Away.......2006-11-05
And that is just what Ms. Black does. You are allowed to enjoy an
other world and enjoy the rise and depth of romance. With a lot more
UMPH! to it. I love how the guy really is in love. Just the basics for
him.
Good story, Bad editing.......2006-09-03
This was a creative story line, but the writing lacked refinement and I could not manage to bond with the characters or lose myself in the book. However, I blame the editors more than the author because the numerous grammatical errors broke the continuity of the story more than anything else.
It's ok.......2006-07-28
This was ok. Wasn't really what I wanted it to be. The plot seemed to be really quick and to the point, didn't give you much to really get into the characters and care about them at all. Sex scenes were a plenty, but didn't really leave me satisfied!
Some steam, but mostly just hot air.......2006-05-31
Being "sold' as a sex slave to the man who has been your nemesis for the past two years can be a bit too much of a good thing on the submissive scale. Krissy, a professor at a university, figures she may get more than she bargained for when she decided to spice up her boring life by going to an exclusive resort to experience her ultimate sexfantasy and finds out Jack (her nemesis) is right there!!
The most stimulating erotic part of the book was where Krissy is massaged by Jack to get comfortable being touched by the men in this resort. Being hooded she doesn't know who the man touching her is and likewise Jack doesn't know he is touching (and getting turned on by) the woman who infuriates him every time they meet.
However, even though the book builds up nice enough to the point where she actually has to submit to Jack and be his sex slave, that's when the fantasy ends. From that moment on it's pretty straight forward (and constant) sex. It lacks the element of anticipation and fantasizing about what might or (even better) might not happen. Although the book states that Jack wants to dominate her, he doesn't have the restraint to do so. Krissy also isn't very convincing as a submissive, as she is quite demanding.
I wouldn't reread parts in this book, like I would in the following books by Susan Kearney: The Challenge,The Dare and The Ultimatum. Although those are romantic (and not erotic) books, the erotic parts are a lot more steamy (and the plots are great)!
Sometimes less is more.
A Romantic Tale of the Erotic & the Adventurous.......2006-02-21
I'm not into S&M at all but I rather enjoyed this tale of a "plain Jane" who wants, just once, to let herself go, sexually. Her office nemesis has been having secret fantasies about her for some time. Now, the two of them find themselves on an island designed for pleasure and sexual exploration. This book was described as Erotica but, if you're a true romance fan, give it a try. Yes, it has hot sex scenes, some mild S&M as well as a tender romance.
