4 out of 5 stars Worth the Price.......2007-01-08

The book is definitely worth the price if you spend any amount of time working on your garden. Even if you only use a single section (i.e. tomatoes), there are enough easy-to-use ideas to make it worth your time invested. I found it to be a great gift idea.

5 out of 5 stars Wow.......2006-07-22

Wow, I can't believe no one has reviewed this book yet. It's fantastic. It's got all kinds of helpful tips in it which I'd never heard of before. It would make an excellent gift to give even for someone who hasn't shown any evidence of being into gardening.

This is a good one but is not as clear & comprehensive as "Everything You Need To Know About The Music Business" (Donald Passman)

4 out of 5 stars Add it to the library.......2006-07-03

I highly recommend this book to gain greater insights in the Music business or any business. It was a great buy along with a couple of manuals I purchased from Musicbrains.net entitled the Indie label Kit.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent.......2006-05-19

The hardships of surviving on the music industry can be easily compare with the jungle, where nothings is what it seems and danger lurks around every corner. This book is a guide that explains all the dangerous species and all the hazardous area, but also revealing the safe zones and undisputable truths about a world dominated by the strong ones. A good book with great references that has and will be appreciated by many.

4 out of 5 stars A good book........2006-05-16

I suggest adding this book to your collection. It is nearly bursting with legal issues and information about the music industry. However at times the information seems a little inaccessible. In addition to this book I would like to suggest "Ty Cohen's Secrets to Making Money in the Music Industry (3-Piece Mega Audio CD Set)". These 2 products together are all you'll ever need!

5 out of 5 stars What you dont know may hurt you!.......2006-05-15

If you are a new person entering the music industry with no idea on how things work, but are just a good singer, than i suggest this book as your new bible. with all the secrets, lies, and myths exposed you will now what to do when greedy A&R's tell you to sign certian papers. for some more information on this topic i suggest taking a peek at the book "101 Music Business Contracts - Updated Edition - Preprinted Binder / CD-ROM set containing over 100 contracts and agreements for recording artist, musicians, ... industry. Entertainment law at it's best!",by ty cohen, for all of its excellent pages!

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Not a bad book for the casual chef.......2006-11-10

As a veteran food service professional and a devotee of the Food Lover's Companion i expected a little bit more from this book. It's full of fantastic tips and tricks, many known only in the food service industry, but i would be hard pressed to see this used as a reference book. It's interesting light reading. I expected more food science and chemistry and less 'Hints from Heloise'. The author's reliance on non-stick aerosol spray oil is a little unnerving.
It will certainly find a place in my chef's office, but more for the intersting tidbits of knowledge regarding beets than anything else.
Much of this information would be useful for the casual cook, but it lacks the 'must-have' draw of the Food Lover's Companion.

5 out of 5 stars Always Find What I Want To Know.......2005-07-21

I got this book for a present about six months ago and can't stop picking it up. I heard this author on the radio recently and she was just as engaging and informative talking about burgers as she was about wine-and all the info she discussed is in this book, so I figure it's a darn good deal.

I've been cooking for a long time, but keep finding great info in The Food Lover's Tiptionary-whether for everyday cooking techniques (such as for subjects like corn, eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, etc.) or for tips for special event preparations (like how to handle caviar, or different ways to prepare risotto). There's even info on kitchenware and appliances-from knives to food processors.

Love the "tidbits" at the beginning of almost every listing-little informational "bites" (history, etymology, etc.) that add so much to the subject. In short, LOVE this handy, easy-to-read, exceedingly informative book!

4 out of 5 stars Tips and Techniques to Boost Basic Cooking Skills........2004-11-05

"The Food Lover's Tiptionary" is a collection of tips and techniques on basic culinary subjects, organized alphabetically. I believe there are about 500 separate entries, but the book doesn't say. The 6,000 tips referred to on the book's cover fall under the entries. The book covers specific foods, general food categories, kitchen utensils, and culinary techniques. Food entries are presented in the following format: Tidbit (either a definition or food trivia), Purchasing, Equivalents, Storing, Preparing, Cooking, and/or Using. Some of the food entries are accompanied by short recipes. The formats of other types of entries vary, and may be best described by example: The entry for "Cookies" provides extensive instructions on making dough, preparing pans, baking, finishing, and storing. "Ice" gives general information and instructions for various ice cubes for different occasions. "Baked Goods" includes general baking tips. "Pasta Shapes" describes 65 shapes. Food quotes by recognizable names are scattered throughout the book, wherever the subject of the quote is found. There are several charts in the book, such as metric conversion, oven temperature equivalents, and pan sizes. And there is a Recipe Index in the back, for the over 100 short recipes found throughout the book.

Every cook could learn something from the "Tiptionary", but I think beginning or moderately experienced cooks will find it most useful. The subjects, themselves, are pretty basic. "Gourmet" subjects are few, and ethnic foods not at all. The entries are thorough, though, and would be helpful to an experienced chef if he/she doesn't happen to have experience with a particular food that is included. The emphasis is on instruction in "The Food Lover's Tiptionary", whereas the author's popular "Food Lover's Companion" emphasizes definitions. The "Food Lover's Companion" describes nearly 6,000 culinary terms -ethnic, gourmet, and obscure included.

5 out of 5 stars Thanks again, Sharon Tyler Herbst.......2004-09-21

I've long been a fan of Sharon Tyler Herbst's books (have "The Ultimate A to Z Bar Guide," the "New Food Lover's Companion, the "Wine Lover's Companion" and "The Ultimate Guide to Pitcher Drinks"). So, when I recently received the new edition of her "Tiptionary" I eagerly started thumbing through it. This one's absolutely fabulous, and is also arranged in an easy A to Z format, which is one of the reasons I like this author's books so much! My new hubby's a hamburger fanatic (I'll convert him, yet;) so imagine my delight when I found over two pages of info on the subject. Now I cook his burgers just the way he likes them. Of course, I've found oodles of other subjects that make ME happy, like corn. The "Tiptionary" gave me dozens of hints on how to buy, store and cook it, and it has a super recipe for "Grilled Corn Off the Cob," which my spouse loves! And that brings me to another favorite feature of this book--it has dozens of short recipes scattered throughout. Not to mention that it tells you what to do with leftovers of whatever food you're looking up. Add to that loads of charts (temperature, measurements, pan sizes, pasta sizes, etc.), and you've got a book that every cook should have. Thank you, Sharon Tyler Herbst, for another great one!

5 out of 5 stars Everything I wanted to know and more.......2004-08-12

Well, this book is certainly a winner. I LOVE to cook and know a lot about the subject, but a friend gave this to me for my birthday and I can't stop reading it. It's the little things that count for me, like information on pan substitutions (different sizes that will work for a pan you don't have) and temperature and measurement charts, and a pasta glossary. And I love the fabulous tips on all the foods. For instance, corn and tomato season is coming up and I've been buying a lot. This book gives me all kinds of tips on how to buy, store and prepare them, not to mention what to do with leftovers! I even learned how to make a juicier, more tender and less caloric hamburger. And I finally learned how to handle my microwave oven, which has been sitting unused for months. Need I say more? I LOVE THIS BOOK, and I think most people will, too.

Book Description

Shandra James is a man stealer. As a pledge of Alpha Sigma Pi sorority, she should know not to throw herself at one of her sisters boyfriends. Phoebe, Miranda, and Camille decide to teach her a lesson that involves humiliation but nothing more. The lesson turns deadly and the three women find themselves facing three new rules: never mention what happened that night, protect each other, and tell no one. They each soon discover that rules are meant to be broken. Well Never Tell is Kayla Perrins most provocative, suspenseful novel yet.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Just to Teach Her a Lesson.......2007-07-31

Essence Best-Selling Author Kayla Perrin delivers a compelling, suspenseful tale in her novel, We'll Never Tell. This fictional story is set at the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY and centered at the Alpha Sigma Pi sorority house. The reader is immediately introduced to Phoebe, one of the sorority sisters of the house, and her fellow sorors and close friends, Miranda and Camille. Phoebe is a senior and engaged to Henry, the star of the football team and her high school sweetheart. Phoebe also has a good friend, Morgan, who is a member of Henry's fraternity. Phoebe's relationship with Morgan continues to be a sore spot in her and Henry's relationship.

The trouble begins when Shandra James enters the lives of Phoebe and Henry. Shandra is a pledge of Alpha Sigma Pi and is very popular on campus, especially in Henry's fraternity house. Seeing Shandra openly flirt with Henry, and Henry responding, is one of the incidents that send Phoebe over the edge - literally! As a result, Phoebe designs an "initiation" for Shandra alone and drags Miranda and Camille along for the ride. When Shandra turns up missing, the three girls vow to never tell a soul what happened that night. However, Shandra's presence in the sorority house is missed and different people are drawing their own conclusions.

Kayla Perrin created an exciting, nail-biting story of what it looks like when jealousy gets out of control. There were a lot of characters introduced that the author did a fairly good job of weaving into the storyline and helping the reader get to know. Yet, being that this is basically a "whodunit", it is important for the reader to be able to exonerate in their own mind the characters that were not involved in the crime. I recommend We'll Never Tell to those that have enjoyed Kayla Perrin's other novels and would enjoy a suspenseful read.

Shandra James is the woman we all love to hate...she was beautiful with a body to die for and taking someone else's man was a sport for her. Shandra was a new pledge in the sorority that Phoebe belonged to. Phoebe was beautiful, smart, rich, and had a fiancee named Henry that she loved and adored. Shandra unfortunately felt the same way about Henry, and she slowly took Phoebe's fiancee away from her a little at a time. Phoebe is fed up with Shandra and feels that she is the only thing that came between her and Henry, but her secret initiation turns into a murder mystery.....The only people that knew what happened that night are Phoebe and her friends Morgan, Camille, and Miranda.....Who killed Shandra??? You'll have to cop the book to find out. This is the BEST book I've read by Ms. Perrin so far. Keep em coming!!!!

Wow, wow, and wow! Everyone who knows me knows how much I love romantic suspense, and I'm always thrilled to add another author to my to-be-bought list. Karen Young has just earned a place towards the top with the heartwarming, heroic, suspenseful, and highly romantic tale of NEVER TELL.

For artist/designer Erica Stewart, opening a shop with her friend Jason Rowland was a dream come true. The exclusive boutique in the Galleria of Houston's high-end shops, Erica's creations of handmade jackets and quilts are being noticed by everyone who is important-brand name fashion designers, readers of the Houston Chronicle, and most especially, Lillian Trask. As the wife of Morton Trask, CEO of CentrexO and a man to be reckoned with within Houston's elitist society, Lillian has made it her life's mission of the past few years to know everything there is to know about Erica Stewart.

Erica wants only one thing-to see her business a success, and to put the past behind her. When her husband and child were killed nine years ago in a car accident, Erica's life forever changed. Not knowing who was behind the horrific crash, never seeing a perpetrator brought to justice, forced Erica into a state of mind that she never wants to revisit. Now, she has her shop, and her friendships. What she doesn't have, and has no desire in having, is a relationship with a man.

That changes when Hunter McCabe, an architect who'd rather be a cowboy, steps into Erica's store to choose a birthday present for his mother. Immediately attracted to Erica, Hunter wants nothing more than to sweep the lady off her feet. But as Erica opens her heart to Hunter, someone in the wings isn't too happy about their budding relationship-and has no attacks of conscious making their anger known in increasingly dangerous ways.

Mystery, passion, suspense, and an intriguing plot make NEVER TELL a romantic suspense delight. Karen Young has written a true winner with this highly remarkable story-one that you won't be able to put down once you've starting reading.

    3 out of 5 stars Fun read.......2006-08-20

It's a perfect summer read ~~ you know how it is when the kids are home from school and you don't always have a stretch of time to read, so this book is perfect for it. It's a romance suspense novel and it's pretty good.

This one is about an artist, Erica Stewart, who is still haunted by the car accident that killed her family. She is fast rising to be an artist of note in Houston. She meets Hunter McCabe, a successful architect and rancher. Somehow her meeting Hunter alarms someone from the past ~~ someone who knows the real secret of who murdered her family. And the story builds on from there.

It's a good read but sometimes, it dragged especially when the book detailed too much about the character's personal appearances and clothes and the society life of Houston. The character depth of each of the characters, especially Hunter's mom, is detailed and gives enough to give the reader an accurate picture of them ~~ for example, Hunter's mom, Lillian Trask's nervousness is relayed through her desperate need for a cigarette when Hunter mentioned that he's dating Erica. It was very well-detailed in the characters' and their thoughts/lives.

If you're looking for a good summer book to read, this book would be it. If you're looking for a book to escape into, this one is it. It does have some sexual scenes in there but not too bad. It's just a fun book.

    8-19-06

3 out of 5 stars Not a whole lot of suspense in this lengthy melodrama.......2006-08-01

Artist Erica Stewart has spent the last nine years living in a vacuum of grief, mourning the loss of her husband and daughter in a hit and run accident. Socialite Lillian Trask has spent the last several years as her behind-the-scene benefactor. When her son Hunter meets the attractive artist and falls head over heels for her, Lillian makes every attempt to discourage him as she feels he's better suited to family friend Kelly Colson.

CEO Morton Trask is up for an ambassador post and wants to avoid controversy at any cost. His marriage to Lillian isn't a love match; as a wealthy widow, she was the perfect wife for his future plans. But their troubled daughter Jocelyn and his estranged relationship with his step son give him constant grief.

As Hunter woos Erica, he cannot understand why she is'nt returning his feelings. When she confides in him about her family and that she's starting to remember bits and pieces (coming through in her art), he's determined to help her come to terms with the accident that claimed her family. As she regains her memory, it's clear that someone wants her dead before she can identify the driver.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the that someone in the Trask family was behind the wheel that fateful night, the only question is who. Though the lead couple oozes chemistry, I found Young's latest really hard to stay focused on - it's nearly 500 pages and could easily have been trimmed to avoid character clothing choices, hairstyles, and other plot redundancies.

4 out of 5 stars Good romantic suspense.......2006-06-04

Houston artist Erica Stewart is achieving amazing success with her clothing and quilt designs. Never far from her mind are thoughts of her husband and baby who were killed by a hit and run driver nine years ago. The killer wasn't caught.

Erica was in a coma and her memories are incomplete about the accident. She withdrew from the world until her friend, Jason, proposed a business partnership. They opened a boutique featuring Erica's designs and Jason's irrepressible sales chutzpah. Erica is happy with her success but somewhat suspicious of the seeming ease it has happened.

Hunter McCabe is buying a present for his mother's birthday. He chooses one of Erica's jackets, meets the designer and falls for her instantly. Hunter is a successful architect. His father died when he was two and his mother remarried an ambitious jerk four years later.

Hunter pursues Erica but she's wary, unwilling to risk love. Hunter isn't discouraged. Then Erica begins dreaming of the accident and images - memories? - of the accident resurface and threaten their relationship and lives.

Good chemistry between Erica and Hunter. Jason was a terrific friend. Thought the villain's storyline and actions were stupid; leave that out and it's a much better story.

    5 out of 5 stars Brillantly Portrayed!.......2005-06-16

Karen Young once again does not disappoint her fans. With brilliantly portrayed characters and a merciless villain, you will read NEVER TELL in one sitting. This compelling plot will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end!

Lillian Trask could easily spend the rest of her life in Houston but her husband, Morton, the legendary CEO of CentrixO, stuns her with the news that he may be up for an ambassadorship. That means leaving her son, Hunter, and not being on hand for their distressed daughter, Jocelyn. It also means she would stop secretly aiding the career of clothing designer Erica Stewart. A close family friend tells Hunter his mother would like an Erica Stewart original as a gift and it is here where things start to get complicated for Hunter McCabe.

When Hunter meets Erica, he rapidly falls in love but can not understand why she wants nothing to do with him. He chooses a gift, gives it to his mother for her birthday and can't stop talking about the woman he just met. Lillian sees that her son is smitten with Erica yet Hunter is miffed when his mother, who is always gracious, turns ashen and acts oddly. The concerned Lillian tells Morton that Hunter is love-struck with Erica but he tells her to just deal with it. Hunter, now deeply in love, is determined to find out why his family has an attitude about Erica. Then, much to his horror, someone makes an attempt on her life when she starts recalling repressed memories of when she lost husband and baby in a hit and run accident nine years earlier. Hunter sets out to deal with her attacker and to protect her while they both struggle with the nasty secrets they discover have been lurking in the closet for many years.

Set in the beautiful Texas hill country as well as Houston, Karen Young writes another terrific must read. Romance is at the core of the story with a strong-willed heroine and a determined hero. This excellent page-turner confirms to us that it is love, honesty and trust that help us to do the right thing. Please don't miss NEVER TELL - you'll be sorry if you do!

3 out of 5 stars A case of mistaken idenity!.......2005-08-07

I have not read this book yet, but it is clear to me from reading the reviews by Thomas More "1535" and lilbitz that they both have mistaken this title for Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You to Know About by Kevin Trudeau.
While I agree with these reviews, at least in part, when applied to Trudeau's book, it is unfair to this book to show these reviews. Please give this book a fair chance.

This book is a wealth of knowledge that explains the healthiest and best ways to combat and prevent all sorts of illnesses and problems. I have found it to be one of the best sources of useful tidbits in a long while. I am a very health concious person and this book has taught me more in just a few chapters than I had known previously

World War II; a Jewish child secretly hidden by a courageous French nun during the German Occupation. This gentle memoir speaks to the trauma of war in all its haunting twists and its poignant impact long after war's end.

    Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Never Tell Your Name.......2007-01-11

Josie Levy Martin wrote this memoir in the third person, "The child Josie," not referring to herself directly as the protagonist. The memories floating up she experienced during her tender years must have been too painful to face. How can a little girl at age four understand, that from one day to the next she must not speak of her parents, she must never mention her own name, she must never say anything that might give away her Jewish heritage. Josie was terrified, and that fear is palpable on every page. The book has been written with courage and with the author's wounded heart. There was the trauma of separation from her parents as well as other traumas suffered. Because of her age Josie did not understand any of this, making what was happening to her worse. This affected Josie as it would have other children in similar circumstances, and settled deep in their psyche and often haunted them for the rest of their lives. Add guilt to this. When statistics became known, Josie's mother told her, you have to be grateful, you were one out of ten Jewish children who survived. This produced a "survivors" guilt experienced by many Jews who did not perish in the Holocaust. Then add to this a newly aquired "Catholic" guilt. (e.g. Frank McCourt's Angela's Ashes) This new religion at first confused the young Jewish child, but Josie was a good little girl who tried to blend in and conformed. She was instinctively grateful and drawn to the kind nun who took it upon herself to hide her in the convent during the German occupation, placing her own life in grave danger should her action have been discovered by the Nazis. Josie sadly never had the chance to see the kind nun, Soeur St. Cybard, again. By the time Josie Levy traveled back to Lesterps, France, the nun had died. But with this loving and elegaic memoir, Josie has sat a fitting monument to Soeur St. Cybard and to those who helped the Jewish population in France during the dark times of Hitler's occupation.
I write this review from the perspective of a German woman who lived in Berlin as a child during those years, and who has wrestled with the question of the collective guilt I have felt. The question of, "Do I, as a former German child have a right to recall my own memories concerning the horrors of war, when we have caused so much suffering for others?"
I urge you to read Josie Levy Martin's memoir, you will not read of dramatic horrors, but of a tearing apart of families, and a gentle suffering that would haunt the traumatized child for years to come, and this memoir would add to your understanding of human kindness and human suffering.

    Book Description

How can you find a man who doesn't want to be found?"Where is he now?" That's the question on everyone's lips about strong, sexy Native American Kole Kills Crow. He was once a media darling -- men wanted to be him... women wanted to be with him. But tragedy convinced Kole that it was time to vanish. Now, reporter Heather Reardon has ,turned up at his door, and although she's a tempting package, it's one he's hesitant to open -- at first.

Heather is feeling pretty proud of herself for finding her man -- even if she does have to track him down in some backwoods bar -- until she discovers that the hero of her fantasies wants nothing to do with his past. Nights spent together in his warm cabin reawaken the fire within him, and Heather ignites a shared passion that neither of them expected. But then Kole is thrust back into the harsh public spotlight, forcing him to face down the demons that still haunt him... and making Heather wonder if she can trust her heart. to a lover who will never be completely hers.

    Customer Reviews:

    1 out of 5 stars A rambling History lesson.......2007-04-19

If one wants a history of the Native American people than this is the book for them; however, if one is looking for a romance with excellent dialog and history similar to Ms Eagle other books _ " The Last Cowboy" and the "View of the River" _this book will be a great disappointment.

4 out of 5 stars An Adventurous Love Story.......2003-10-29

I enjoyed this book and read it over a rainy weekend. The characters of Heather and Kole are well-drawn and I liked their insights into Indian history and issues. As an author myself, (of a book for mothers, NEW PSALMS FOR NEW MOMS: A KEEPSAKE JOURNAL)I appreciate the attention to detail in the panorama of the American West, the story's setting.

    1 out of 5 stars Very disappointing.......2002-12-29

Although I am very sympathetic to the fact that Europeans "stole" this country from Native Americans, this social commentary about the heartless "white man" really got to me. It's very rare when I put a book down without finishing it, but I did this one. I kept thinking it would get better, but unfortunately, it didn't.

Yes, I admit, a majority of the books I read are true romances so therefore I'm a bit predjudiced when I say I didn't like this book. Romance is not the main theme here. It is the struggle for Native Americans to receive recognition.

The chemistry between Heather and Kole (who the author can't decide whether to call Kole or Kola) is tepid. They fall in bed almost immediately and everything else is anticlimatic (sorry for the pun). He's got issues with his past, is on the run for a prison break and unfortunately Ms. Eagle gives him the type of dialog that puts you to sleep.

Thank goodness I just got this from the library. I'd hate to think I wasted money purchasing this book.

4 out of 5 stars Kathleen Soars Above!.......2002-11-07

If you are simply seeking an entertaining romance story weaving together two lives as one, this book may disappoint you. The romance element is there and the conversations between the two who fall in love are very funny and entertaining, however there is much more. For anyone interested in the lives and struggles of Indian people today, this book portrays how they are still mistakenly perceived and stereotyped. This is a love story, but with a deeper message for anyone who cares to listen. Just as in "Sunrise Song", I came away from the last page both entertained and educated. Kathleen soars above other writers in the Indian romance genre and delivers beautifully! She has a delightful writing style and has done it for her readers again! Kudos to Kathleen Eagle!

5 out of 5 stars Mrs. Eagle, you have done it again!.......2002-07-17

I absolutely LOVE Mrs. Eagles books! I have never found another author that captures a readers attention like Kathleen Eagle!

Her characters are always people that I wish I could meet in person. It's like she introduces you to friends of hers and they take you on a wonderful journey. I always cry at the end of the journey because it IS THE END.

Mrs. Eagle never ceases to amaze me with her creativity for storylines. Not only am I drawn to the drama but also the humor that makes my kids look at me funny because I laugh out loud when reading one of her books.

Most importantly, Mrs. Eagle always incorporates Indian issues into her stories that many people would never know about. In YOU NEVER CAN TELL, Mrs. Eagle covers a wide variety of issues that Indian people are trying to gain public attention to. In her own way, Mrs. Eagle is doing activist work just like Kola and Heather!

I also like the fact that all of Mrs. Eagle's heroines are strong and well-educated women!!!! And the fact that she doesn't put too much emphasis on physical appearences or sexual situations.

Mrs. Eagle is a TRUE storyteller!!! I highly recommend ANY and EVERY book by Kathleen Eagle!!!

    Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Every woman, married or single, must read this book! .......2007-06-22

I'm not a big book reviewer or anything, but when I was online and read some of the reviews on 7 Things He'll Never Tell You, I was so flabbergasted that I just had to write a review myself. Some of the reviewers called this book old-fashioned and said that Dr. Leman's methods require the woman to sacrifice herself, become a doormat, and bear the brunt of the weight of the relationship in order to keep a man on the string. They couldn't be MORE WRONG. Who wouldn't want a guy who adores you, listens to you, respects you, is a great dad, and willingly helps you around the house? I'm married, a mom, as well as a career woman, and have read several other Dr. Leman books, like Sheet Music, First-Time Mom, and The Birth Order book, and have found each one absolutely fascinating and intensely helpful because it always provided "a fresh take" that I hadn't seen anywhere else. 7 Things He'll Never Tell you is witty, practical, and helped me instantly get inside my husband's head and heart...to find out what's most important to him. It takes so little to make your guy happy, so why not do it? I'd rather have my husband for a lifetime than suffer the fate of so many of my girlfriends, who are going through divorces and one-night stands now because of the years they wanted life to be "all about them" instead of being willing to do little things for your guy that have a really big pay-off--a great marriage! Five, ten, twenty years down the road, I don't have to guess who'll be happier--my girlfriends or me. I already know, because I've seen the wonderful changes, in just three weeks, in my husband's and my relationship after reading this book. Every woman, married or single, should read 7 Things He'll Never Tell You. You'd be dumb not to.

2 out of 5 stars The goofy picture of the girl on the cover.......2007-06-21

    makes it difficult to take this book seriously. After seeing the author interviewed on television, I bought the book. I had read The Birth Order Book years prior. One of the reviewers wrote, "a little sexist." A little sexist? He uses archaic and immature language throughout his book such as, "hubby," "guy," and I can't count the times he referred to women's "crabby time of the month." I endured reading the book trying to glean some information anyway. I came away with only a few new ideas. He refers to "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. Do yourself a favor and read that one instead. Leman has quite a dossier and many of his book titles sound interesting. However, I'm hesitant to read more of his work and can't imagine people paying to see him speak in the 21st century. Sorry. :{

5 out of 5 stars Will change your relationship!!! The BEST!.......2007-06-14

What a great book! I was one of those women who thought I knew it all! I did know most of the things that Dr. Leman talked about in the book but there were several things that really hit home to me that I had never thought about. Since I have been putting into practice the simple principles of this book, my husband has done a 180. I can't believe it! What a difference! I've told all my girlfriends to get this book and just this week I bought 3 copies and sent it to my college roommates. This book and Sheet Music are the two best books Dr. Leman even penned.

    3 out of 5 stars A little sexist..........2007-05-14

This book does tell you how to make your husband happy, but it goes a little far sometimes. I want my man to be happy, but not at the cost of me being miserable. It seems like the author wants us women to forget about what we need or want and concentrate on making our men happy. Why can't we both be happy? Of course, this is just one woman's opinion -take it or leave it...

    5 out of 5 stars Great Read!.......2007-05-12

I really appreciated this book. I have been married for 8 years and we have 2 little kids who take up all my time and attention. I read this book to try to get some of the focus on my husband and not ignore his needs. He is very supportive of me being home and focusing so much on the kids, but I realized I needed to focus on him too. This book said what my husband doesn't come out and tell me what he needs or wants, but I know are truly important to him and our marriage! I highly recommend it.
