Book Description
She's got the rock, so when does happily ever after kick in?
At long last, Ashley Stockingdale--patent attorney, fasionista, and homeowner--can finally add "fiancee" to her spirited resume. That means the next four months will be a dizzying and decadent waltz through aisles of Vera Wang, Kenneth Cole, Sheridan sheets, Kate Spade place settings, and Oneida flatware. Well...maybe not.
For starters, the HR department has hired Ashley's ex-boyfriend (yep, the one who ran off to India with that other woman) as the new director of software. And now her fiance is starting to sound crazy--something about moving across country, to Philadelphia of all places. Worst of all, right before her eyes, Scarlett-I-need-some-Prozac O'Hara is hijacking her wedding plans!
Life for our heroine is spinning from out of control to downright confusing. But whether she makes it to the end of the aisle or not, she'll never be at a loss for drama!

Hillarious.......2007-03-19
As someone who is planning a wedding. I got a huge kick out of this book. It made me laugh out loud and is very discriptive i could just imagine the characters. In some aspects i could see myself in this character. I give this book two thumbs up for anyone who is looking for a good book to entertain themselves with.
an odd one.......2007-03-19
Put simply, it's an odd mixture of current fashion, fiance drama, and - get this one - god.
Very Funny.......2007-02-14
This book was laugh out loud funny. Kristin Billerbeck does a great job of writing great chick lit without compromising Christian standards. If you thought that Erin was a handful in the 2nd book, just wait until you get a load of Kevin's sister, Ashley. This book is fantastic.
Fabulous!.......2006-12-26
Great book! I just read it cover to cover in one sitting because I couldn't put it down! Ashley is a great character and it's nice to read a chick book that has main characters with christian values.
Another Winner from Kristin Billerbeck!.......2006-07-13
I am so bummed that this is the end of the series because this is a great one!!! Kristen has gotten me so hooked on reading the "Christian chick Lit" that I've read all of her books so far!! I don't do that normally because I like to make sure there is more when reading an authors book so I don't run out of things to read. I couldn't do that with her stuff.
This book was hard to find in the local stores. One said it would be in within a week of ordering it...2 WEEKS later nothing!!! I decided if I was going to wait I would wait while anticipating a package so I ordered this from Amazon on a Tuesday and received it on Friday! Guess who called on Saturday to tell me the book was in.....
Great, funny, witty read! Read them all!!!!
Book Description
Victoria Fontaine's mischievous nature and brilliant, biting wit have scandalized the ton . . . and earned her the nickname "Vixen." But her reputation pales before the infamous Lord Althorpe's, known as "Lord Sin." The years Sinclair Grafton spent on the Continent have done nothing to quell the rumors about his past. And when the stunning Vixen and the handsome rogue find themselves momentarily alone at an elegant gala, their passion gets the best of them.
Caught by Victoria's father in a shockingly sensual kiss, Sin and Vixen have no recourse except a wedding. At first the very liberal lady relishes the thought of an unfettered marriage to an indifferent, unrepentant scoundrel. But she suspects there is more to this enigmatic, remarkable man, that his rakish persona is merely a pose. And after one unforgettable night of ecstasy, Lady Vixen is determined to unmask the true Sin . . . to satisfy a passionate heart that craves far more than freedom.
Customer Reviews:
Beautiful story - great romantic read!.......2004-07-23
I have always enjoyed Enoch's books and this one was no exception! Vixen and Sin were actually a perfect couple. Both were pretending to be something they were not and both were actually bored with the lives they had been leading. Thrown together but not really against their will - they quickly found there was much to each others personalities than what others perceived. There is just enough intrigue in the plot to add to the romance. I really enjoyed this Enoch romance and would highly recommend it!!!
Pleasant, but not Enoch's best.......2004-04-04
Suspense, rather than romance, is the bigggest aspect of Meet Me at Midnight. Victoria and Sinclair seem to be well-suited, but their romance is not entirely convincing. I can't quite put my finger on the problem, but they somehow remain rather vague throughout the story. The solving of the murder is very well done, however, even though I solved it by half-way through; the resolution was well done and suspense was maintained throughout. That, however, is not the point of a romance, nor should it be the main plot. That and the fact that the romance itself was not entirely satisfying is why I give the book only 3 stars. It simply did not keep me engrossed.
Disappointing Vixen.......2003-12-10
I love Suzanne Enoch's books and am anxiously awaiting the next in March - but "Meet Me at Midnight" was not only a disappointment but an annoyance beginning and ending with the heroine. The first time I read this book it was OK, the second read I threw it across the room, my own immature reaction to the childish, idiotic and uninteresting actions of Vixen. I am all for heroines that go against type - but this one didn't go in a way that made her more interesting, independent or engaging - instead I felt that I was wading through a mess of unappealing character traits that made me question the hero's sanity in liking her and rooting for someone else to appear and steal him away. Ms. Enoch is, however, still one of my favorite authors and I gave this book 2 stars simply because dispite my hatred of Vixen it was still well written structurally. I still recommend any of Ms. Enoch's other novels.
pretty good read.......2003-02-19
pretty good read, kinda predictable, but these things mostly are. Still very enjoyable.
Great Book.......2003-01-18
I would just like to say that i am a huge Suzanne Enouch Fan. I recomend all of her books to my friends. I loved how in Meet me at Midnight continues the story with Reforming the rake.I love the way it was written and how different and lovable the characters were.

Lucien Balfour, the sixth earl of Kilcairn Abbey, is compelled by his father's last will and testament to launch his cousin into society. A confirmed bachelor and acknowledged rake, Lucien can barely tolerate his country cousin (let alone her obnoxious mother); determined to marry her off as soon as possible, he advertises for a finishing governess.
Alexandra Beatrice Gallant is a highborn lady who has been forced to earn her keep as a governess and desperately needs employment. Nevertheless, when she realizes that the handsome man interviewing her is the notorious earl, she has grave misgivings about accepting his job offer. Indeed, it soon becomes apparent that Lucien is not only committed to polishing his cousin's social skills, he's also dead set on bedding the lovely Alexandra. Unfortunately for Lucien, Alexandra is as strong willed and levelheaded as she is beautiful, and although Lucien doesn't believe in love, he finds himself wanting to slay dragons for the gorgeous governess. For her part, Alexandra has increasing difficulty refusing the earl's kisses. Still, despite scandal and interfering dowagers, the biggest barrier to a happy conclusion is Alexandra's own self-doubt, and winning her hand will test Lucien's determination to the limit.
Author Suzanne Enoch doesn't miss a beat in this charming Regency tale. The dialogue snaps with wit, the plot possesses interesting twists and turns, and the secondary characters are unforgettable, especially the horrid aunt. The heroine is intelligent and well educated, sensible as well as warmhearted, and is the perfect foil for the hero's cynicism and intellect. Reforming a Rake is sure to delight. --Lois Faye Dyer
Book Description
A governess must never be alone with a man. Her reputation mustn't have even a hint of scandal. She must never reveal personal emotions. No matter how strong the provocation by her employer. A governess never questions her employer's commands. Even when he's tempting her to forsake respectability for desire? She must never, ever, fall in love with someone above her station. Especially a rake—no matter how devastating his kisses may be . . .
Alexandra Gallant is a governess extraordinaire—and if it weren't for that unfortunate incident at her last position, she wouldn't now be forced into the employ of Lucien Balfour, the most notorious rake in London. Though the sinfully attractive earl hired her to teach his young cousin, his seductive whispers and toe-curling kisses suggest he has something far less respectable in mind . . . And that will never happen. For although Lucien seems determined to teach her about pleasure, she has a few lessons to teach him about love!

Reforming a Reader.......2007-01-09
First of all, let me just say that I have only been reading historical romances for about 5 months. I would always make fun of my friend for reading them, until she finally convinced me to try "just one." "Reforming a Rake" is the first book she loaned me. It took me about 6 hours to read it and I immediately called her. I couldn't stop talking about Lucien and Alexandra and how amazing these characters were. I couldn't believe that a romance novel could have characters with such depth, witty banter, hilarious encounters (there were moments where I was actually laughing out loud) and just enough drama to make me cry. But this one does. And I for one am glad it was my first!
I loved it!!!!!!.......2004-07-28
I bought this book many months ago and I loved it! Lucien is to die for and Alexandra is so stubborn, but perfect for the Earl. The dialogue was extremely funny. Lucien is the best hero you could ever find. I loved the way he did everything for Alexandra and she was still stubborn till the very end. I've read this book many times over and I know I'll read it many more times in the future. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes romances.
Maybe 3 & 1/2 -- Lucien's great; best as part of series.......2004-04-28
Lucien IS wickedly witty and an impressive seducer. It's refreshing for the man to realize he wants a permanent commitment first; Lucien keeps after Alexandra until she finally acquieses. How on earth could she resist so long? Her refusals did get old and seemed to be based on flimsy reasoning. She's okay as a heroine, but not nearly as strong a character as Lucien. Frankly, she deserved being kidnapped.
Aunt Fiona is a woman worth getting angry with, but Rose is generally annoying. What Lucien's best friend sees in her is still beyond me. Characters who show up in later novels, like Emma Grenville, are a welcome addition. FYI, "With This Ring" nad "Lessons in Love" series reference the same characters.
Fun, witty and deep, but little heat!.......2003-10-30
There was so much I loved about this book. The best thing was that both characters were strong and intelligent. The dialogue was excellent -- Lucien's and Alex's verbal battles were so sharp and hilarious. Also, I loved the fact that both characters showed such emotional depth. By far, Lucien is one of the best romance hero ever written in an historical romance.
My only criticism is the lovemaking scenes -- they were so tame they almost put me to sleep!! I realize that not every romance author is comfortable writing graphic sex scenes, but lovemaking scenes are included in romance stories for a reason. If written well, these scenes can explore and explain the characters' growing attraction, as well as give the reader glimpses into their hearts. That didn't happen here at all. One of the lovemaking scenes was a mere three sentences long!! Talk about "wham-bam-thank-you-mam"!!! The way it was described, I don't see how the lovemaking was at all satisfying to Alexandra. And that's part of what romance is all about. Thre has to be some sizzle between the characters in order to make their physical attraction credible. This book clearly lacked that. Aside from this rather glaring shortcoming, this book had the romance, fun, wit and depth to make it a very enjoyable read.
Actually, 1 1/2 stars. l gave it 2 for Lucien........2003-09-24
This is the 3rd book I read from this author, and 2 of them have had the same problem, at least for me.
The book started out fine, I was caught up and having a lot of fun. Lucien was so charmingly rude, (if such a thing exist) that had me laughing all the time. I loved the way he makes fun of his aunt and cousin, and the way he always says exactly what he thinks, no matter who might get offended. Alexandra seemed like an intelligent, sensible and likeable person, at least until about half of the book.
When did things start to go completely wrong? When Lucien proposes marriage and she starts rejecting him for reasons that I didn't find valid at all. I totally agree with another reviewer (Fani) who said that she is the most ungrateful, selfish female ever. He does everything he can to prove his love for her, actually, half of what he did should have been prove enough for any sensible woman, and melt her heart in the process, but she keeps stubbornly rejecting him. All because when her parents died, an uncle that she had never met before, refused to love and protect her and she had to make her way on the world by herself, therefore, she is now incapable of accepting anyone's love or protection. Doesn't it sound stupid?
This ruined the entire second half of the book for me, which is a shame, because I had started liking it a lot.
Some other reviewers have mentioned mistakes regarding the time period and the use of french, however nobody has mentioned what I think is the most glaring mistake of this book. Apparently, Lucien has to marry and produce an heir, or otherwise his cousin Rose's future child will inherit his title and estates. Wait a minute! Rose is his cousin on his mother's side. She is the daughter of his mother's half brother. I admit I'm not an expert in the matter, but I am an avid reader of Regency romance novels and it is my understanding that in England titles are passed only through the paternal line. If he doesn't produce an heir, and there are no other male relatives on his father's side of the family, then at his death, his title and estates will revert to the crown, but Rose's family would never be in line to inherit. Even if he had had a sister, daughter of his father, the previous Earl, such sister offspring would never inherit either, unless there was a very rare clause on the title that would allow a female [direct descendant] to assume the title in case there was not a male child. I have never heard of the title going to the in-laws, which is what Rose's father became to the previous Earl by way of his sister's marriage. In short, if it is not a male with the same last name as the Earls, it is not in line for the title.
This mistake is so noticeable, that I'm amazed it got pass the editor, and that none of the other readers mentioned it either. I could have ignored it, if the plot had stayed interesting and amusing, but this, together with a heroine so exasperating that I felt like shaking her, and a story totally lacking in originality made me want to trow the book across the room and growl in frustration.
Now the question is, should I give Suzanne Enoch another chance? I like her heroes a lot, but so far, have disliked 2 out of 3 heroines. I like the first half of her books, but have completely disliked the second half of 2 out of 3 books. That is the problem, if it were all bad, I wouldn't have any doubts about ever buying another of her books. But since she has managed to catch my attention in some ocassions, I keep thinking she has the talent to write a good book that I would enjoy in its entirety.
Amazon.com's Best of 2001
Lovely Emma Grenville is the headmistress of Miss Grenville's Academy, a contented spinster, and firmly on the shelf--or so she believes until Greydon Brakenridge, the Duke of Wycliffe, arrives in west Hampshire and threatens to raise her rent and close down her school. He's handsome, intelligent, and thoroughly exasperating, for he believes the academy is nothing more than a "marriage factory" to train young girls to become simpering, clinging ninnies without an original thought in their heads. Greydon is determined to seduce the lovely Miss Grenville, and Emma, although powerfully attracted to the Duke, is just as determined to teach him a lesson about the intelligence of women. Before Emma and her students are done with Greydon Brakenridge, he will have an entirely new respect for educated women. And before Greydon is done with Emma, he will have stirred up a scandal that even his powerful position may not be able to resolve.
A Matter of Scandal is a delightful Regency romp, sprinkled with charming secondary characters both hilarious and endearing, and with a hero and heroine whose romantic escapades and witty dialogue add up to an excellent tale that will please readers everywhere. --Lois Faye Dyer

Customer Reviews:
Enjoyable fluffy read, witty author.......2007-04-02
I was surprised at how often this book had me laughing out loud, and that alone is the reason I gave it 5 stars instead of 4. The dry sarcasm in several comments was hilarious. I enjoyed the characters. Mentally quick Emma is a school headmistress and falls for the duke. The arrogant and condescending duke dislikes and distrusts all women. He believes the school does nothing more than teach girls how to trap a husband. He ends up changing his mind about the school and the students, and of course he falls for Emma. I'm going to try more from this author. Sexual content: moderate.
Tsk, tsk, Ms. Enoch - a little Austen envy, maybe?.......2007-01-24
The characters and plot were fairly weak in this story - Emma and Grey's first lovemaking encounter comes to mind, among other things - but what I found most distracting was Ms. Enoch liberal use of Pride and Prejudice names sprinkled throughout the book. Key characters were named Lizzy, Jane, Mary, and Georgiana. (And let's not forget our female protagonist, Emma -- but that's another story. Literally!)
This is my first Suzanne Enoch read and I won't be recommending this book to anyone because the writing wasn't strong enough and the ending was even more unsatisfying. I see a lot of reviews fawning over her work, though, so I may try another Enoch someday.
Enjoyable -- 4.5 stars.......2007-01-06
The wager that is the basis for this plot was a little ragged and poorly-defined, and the ending was a little anti-climactic, but the characters were delightful, and their motivations were sufficiently believable to require not too much effort in suspending disbelief. So many novels that fall into the category of "romance", focus mainly only on the hero and heroine, which can actually be tiresome and strain one's belief. This one had a supporting cast of delightful characters--funny, distinctive, individual--that made the book more fun, and the romance less claustrophobic. Too many novels have only 2 characters, the lovers falling into bed in the second chapter, which leaves less room for fireworks or foreplay. But these two were witty and well-matched opponents to start, which adds much spice to the development of their connection.
Lots of fun, well worth the read. I would read another by this author.
The Best of the Three Rings!.......2006-07-09
I think Suzanne Enoch is great, and after reading many of her more recent novels, I read the With This Ring trilogy. Knowing they were published earlier than some of the others I had read, I noticed that the writing was good, but now she's better. This trilogy shows her maturing as a writer, as well. The third book, A Matter of Scandal, was by far the most satisfying of the three reads. The banter between the the hero and heroine is delightful, and the chararcters are very well-developed. The ending ends a bit abruptly and somewhat tidily, in my opinion, but it brings a rush of exhilaration, nonetheless. You should read all three in the trilogy if you're an Enoch fan, but if you're just wanting the best of Suzanne Enoch, this is the one.
Every thing that Enoch writes is golden!.......2006-06-27
A Matter of Scandal by Suzanne Enoch is the final book of th With this Ring Series. Emma runs a finishing school for young ladies and makes a bet with the Duke of Wycliffe to save her school. The bet goes a muck and your have scandal, romance and great climax scene. With This Ring series:Reforming a Rake,Meet Me at Midnight,A Matter of Scandal.

Book Description
Leo Drake, the "Mad Monk of Monkcrest," is notoriously eccentric and unquestionably reclusive. But he is also a noted antiquities expert, which is why Beatrice Poole has demanded his reluctant assistance.
The freethinking authoress of "horrid novels," Beatrice is searching for the Forbidden Rings of Aphrodite, a mythic treasure she suspects played a role in her uncle's death. Beatrice finds Leo every bit as fascinating as one of the heroes in her novels--and she's convinced he's the only one who can help her. But after only five minutes in her company, Leo is sure he's never met a woman more infuriating...and more likely to rescue him from boredom.
Yet the alliance may well prove to be the biggest mistake of their lives. For a villain lurks in London, waiting for the pair to unearth the Forbidden Rings--knowing that when they do, that day will be their last....

Another engaging mystery by Amanda Quick.......2006-06-05
Mrs. Beatrice Poole is a woman of many mysteries--including a secret identity as Amelia York, authoress of horrid novels. Upon learning of the death of her uncle under most improper circumstances, Beatrice takes it upon herself to find out what happened. When the young widow finds herself on the verge of becoming the heroine of one of her grim and fanciful tales she looks toward the Earl of Monkford for assistance.
Leo, the Earl of Monkford, has a family history with mystery and intrigue. The men before him who held the title Earl of Monkford became known as the "Mad Monks." Leo himself is believed to have supernatural powers, including the ability to turn himself into a wolf. Followed by his trusty hound, Elf, Leo sets out to help Beatrice discover what happened to her uncle, and finds himself falling for the lady in the interim period.
This novel was an engaging read and passed the time quickly. Quick's signature mysteries rarely disappoint. One of the best things about this one is that both the hero and heroine are of a certain age (nearing 40 and 30, respectively) so there is little need for the high drama typically associated with Regency romance. This would be an excellent book to read by the pool in the summer.
toothsome but enjoyable..........2006-04-25
I agree with another reviewer. Miss Quick's newer romances are a bit longer wordwise. But the longer length is not needed and I hope she goes back to her older writing style. That said-With This Ring's was still filled with Quick's signature humor, quirkiness, intelligent characters and sensuality. It was also refreshing to have a 40 yr old hero and 30 yr old heroine. This book seems written more of a adventure than and "I adore you" romance but is still quite enjoyable. The love scenes are well written, especially the first love scene-against the wall, woohoo-is smoking!
All in all-even a mediocre Quick book is better than most other romances out there:)
4 stars-recommended:)
Quick does it again!.......2004-10-07
Don't be fooled by bland reviews, _With This Ring_ is classic Amanda Quick. Teeming with the usual mystery, romance, adventure and passion readers have grown to love, _With This Ring_ is right on par with all of Ms. Quick's earlier works. I'd even go so far as to say it has become one of my favorites by her.
In Beatrice and Leo Ms. Quick has created two strong minded, mature and well rounded characters. Beatrice is lively, funny and intelligent. I really enjoyed reading about a heroine who was nearing thirty years old and who'd been wed and bed before. It was a nice, refreshing change of pace to see an older heroine who had a sensible head on her shoulders be swept away by desire. So many times romance authors inundate you with simpering beauties whose only attribute worth mentioning is their looks. Ms. Quick continually sets forth heroines who make you proud to be a woman and Beatrice does just that. Leo is exciting, sensual and has a magnetism that the reader feels right along with Beatrice. Watching him fall in love with Beatrice is a beautiful experience and when he gave her the legendary 'Mad Monk' token of love I cried.
As always, the plot was engaging and full of twists and turns that kept me absorbed right from the first. Another thing I really enjoyed about _With This Ring_ is the fact that Ms. Quick alludes to a character from one of her previous books. It was nice to see a name I recognized and be able to recall another extraordinary book of her's that I'd read.
Anyone who has read this book and didn't like it should give it a second read through, surely you must have missed something the first time! Anyone who hasn't read this book -- what are you waiting for? Buy it now and be prepared for a marvelous read courtesy of Amanda Quick.
A GREAT SUMMER READ.......2003-07-03
This is the first Amanda Quick book I've ever read and I have to say it will not be my last! The herione and the hero of the story blance well together, its to perfect. This is a great read for anyone who loves a good romance and a good mystery.
Loved It!.......2002-09-24
This is one of my favorite by Amanda Quick. Her stories are always original. You don't read that many romances with a 29 year old woman and a 40+ male. Beatrice is one of my favorite Quick heroines. She is no young, naive girl. She's strong, confident, stubborn, practical and intelligent. Leo is also one of my favorites. He is a recluse with no use for society, but Beatrice drags him out of his self-imposed seclusion and takes him on a wild ride that changes his life.
There was nothing dull about With This Ring. It takes off from the first page and doesn't drag. Beatrice and Leo are both strong characters, and I got a few good laughs reading about them locking horns. They also both deserve happiness and it was great to read about how they find it with each other. If you are a fan of Amanda Quick, you should definitely read this one.

Story Behind the Book
âAfter writing the twelve-book Christy Miller series for teens, a new character showed up on the pages of the final novel. Her name was Sierra Jensen, and she was so compelling as a teenage character that readers began asking for a series about Sierra in order to hear more about her life choices. Our family had just moved to Portland at the time, and I found it easy to picture a sixteen-year-old like Sierra shopping at the local vintage clothing stores, hanging out with friends at a garage band concert, and serving at the homeless shelter on weekends.â

A satisfying read!.......2006-07-07
This collection includes the first three books in the Sierra Jensen series written by Robin Jones Gunn.
Only You, Sierra introduces sixteen-year-old Sierra. Flying home from a mission trip in the UK, Sierra has met several new friends, including Katie and Christy, who readers of Robin's Christy Miller series will recognize. Normally outgoing and adventurous, Sierra is surprised to feel anxiety about her family's move to Portland, Oregon during the time she was away. A new home, new school, and potential new love interest challenge Sierra to reevaluate beliefs about herself that she has long taken for granted.
In Your Dreams finds Sierra watching over Granna Mae for a few days while her family is out of town. While it's difficult for Sierra to see her Granna's memory come and go, what seems to be a simple responsibility becomes more than Sierra bargains for when Granna Mae receives a call saying she needs immediate surgery. Meanwhile, Sierra tries to find a part-time job and wonders why, when she was the most popular girl at her old school, she is having such a difficult time making new friends in Portland.
Don't You Wish takes Sierra and her sister Tawni to spend Easter break at the beach with Christy, Katie, and their friends. When Tawni hits it off immediately with Jeremy, and even Katie pairs off with Antonio, an Italian exchange student, Sierra struggles with being jealous and feeling left out. She wants a boyfriend too. She tries to have fun and even learns to surf. But when Sierra witnesses Christy and Todd, to her the perfect couple, going through a difficult time in their relationship, she realizes everyone has struggles in their life. And she learns, as 1 Tim 6:6 states, that godliness with contentment is the greatest gain.
"Have you ever felt as if you were caught between two lives? The one you're living, and the one you wish you were living?" Sierra asks Christy.
Armchair Interviews says: Readers of all ages will understand Sierra's feelings and be ministered to by the timeless truths God reveals to her throughout this collection.
Book Description

Another Great book ..........2007-03-30
Another Great book to visit the Patterson's with. "For Better / For Worse" has to be one of the best comic strips of all time. It really makes you think, "They are just like my family", and if you do not have kids, read the books so you know what to prepare for.
Not long enough..........2006-10-23
I am a recent convert to the world of FBOFW, having really fallen in love with the strip when Michael and Deanne got married. I bought this booking wanting to learn more about this story arc. And while this book does cover a large portion of the story arc, covering a little before and during the wedding, I just which it was more complete. I would have loved to see only strips in the book that related to the wedding story arc. I also would have loved to see strips that led up to Michael and Deanne's courtship and Michael's proposal. In the world of FBOFW, there are two types of strips. The first is just some random joke, and the second is a strip that futhurs along a story arc that has been building, sometimes since the start of FBOFW. I wish this book only collected the 2nd types of strips, and did not have so much filler (the first type of strips.)
Don't get me wrong, this is a great book. I really love the "later" years of FBOFW, and am really looking forward to Liz's eventually marriage to Anthony. I just wish this collection was longer.
Continued Excellence!.......2006-03-27
Johnston's work keeps on pleasing! My wife and I (over 35) both enjoy these strips at least as much as our 11 year old.
Excellent book!.......2004-05-18
This has got to be one of the best For Better or For Worse books out there. The first part of the book begins with Lynn Johnston setting up the book, telling the backgrounds of Michael and Deanna, and what they went through to get to this point, which I think is an excellent way to begin. If you haven't read some of the earlier strips, this gives you all the background you would need. It also contained some information that would be good even for a die hard FBFW fan.
The book is in depth and contains all the strips from before and after the wedding. This would be a great present to give to someone who is getting married for a humorous take on the psychosis of getting married. Highly recommended!
With this Ring....a Triumph!.......2003-05-20
Enter within and witness the saga of Michael and Deanna's wedding. For all of you who have lived through weddings as a bride, groom or immediate family, you will easily identify with all the wedding preparations, conflicts and joys. The only thing I regreted while reading it was how grown-up Michael has become. However, I just pulled out an older book by Lynn and revisited. But think....only a great author can make you care about characters so much that you hate to see them "grow up." Cheers to Lynn and please keep them coming!

OK but Not Great.......2007-03-09
This book contains nice tunes specially for weddings but I would not buy the book again. The arrangements are not well thought out and some even contain notes that are not on 15/14 dulcimer (which the book was written for). The only ornamentation the arrangements have are rolled chords (which are not explained) and harmonies. You have to have purchase Mel Bay Arranging for Hammered Dulcimer to know the author was talking about rolled chords.
