I LOVED this book!!!!.......2007-03-07
I don't want to ruin the surprises, so I won't go into detail. This novel works because the characters have such an endearing quality even in their worst moments. The author never emotionally manipulates the reader, though she keeps it real; both characters suffer heartbreak, yet the book is also very entertaining. Christina Dodd writes characters that are very real to life. I love how she ties the trilogy together at the end. I definitely recommend the other two books in the series "Barefoot Princess" and "Some Enchanted Evening." If you love this book, read Christina Dodd's "Runaway Princess" which has a like theme but way different plot. Both books deserve five stars!!!
4 1/2 Stars..........2007-02-24
Princess Sorcha and Prince Rainger were betrothed from the time they were babies. Then war and rebellion tore both countries apart, scattering Sorcha and her three sisters to the wind, while Rainger suffered torture and imprisonment in the dungeon of his greatest enemy.
Now Rainger has finally discovered that Sorcha has been hiding in a convent. After disguising himself as a fisherman, he manages to escort Sorcha back toward their homeland, and the wedding he must have if he is to win his country back from his enemies.
Along the way Sorcha falls in love with him, and he persuades her to marry him, even though she still thinks he is a simple fisherman. Only to suffer her fury when she awakes the next morning to find out who he really is. . .
In the conclusion to the Princess series, Dodd picks up with the tortured Rainger, whose naivete resulted in his enemies taking his kingdom from him, and torturing him to the point of madness and death. For him, Sorcha is only a tool to win back what he has lost, and make amends for the damage he has caused-at first. Only when he seems to have lost her does he begin to fully appreciate what she has come to mean to him.
This conclusory novel is at least as enjoyable as the others in the series, although I could have wished for a bit more depth in the development of the villains of the piece. This is compensated for by the author's portrayal of the ambivalence of Rainger's own people, who have been brutalized by his enemy, and react to Rainger's new intervention with an all-too-human hesitance.
In fact, this story is actually more Rainger's than it is Sorcha's, and does not suffer for it. I particularly enjoyed the kind of Count of Monte Cristo flavor Dodd wove in her telling of Rainger's foolishness, his sufferings and his eventual rise to become a man worthy of the throne he regains.

You have to hand it to Christina.
She can write a novel that is at once witty, heartwarming AND sexy!! Not an easy feat!
AND she makes secondary characters more than cardboard cutouts.
One of her greatest strengths is that her books always finish as interesting as they start..
A wonderful last book in a sweet trilogy.
Final book of the Lost Princesses series.......2007-02-01
'The Prince Kidnaps a Bride' by Christina Dodd is the final book of the series - Princess Sorcha and Prince Rainger's story. The novel is based around three princesses who leave their country due to war. They left their home as children and now young women trying to survive. Prince Rainger comes to the convent pretending to simple fisherman but his lies, war and his love for Sorcha everthing turns into chaos. Check out the whole Lost Princess Series ,SOME ENCHANTED EVENING (1), THE BAREFOOT PRINCESS (2) and THE PRINCE KIDNAPS A BRIDE(3).
Worst book I've read in a while!.......2007-01-25
Let me start by saying that when I bought this book, I was not expecting much. I justed wanted an easy, pass-the-time book...still this book really managed to disappoint me. The heroine is just plain silly, you never feel the connection between the characters through out the book and this does not look like a book written by someone with experience! My advise, save your money and just move on!

Marry a prince and acheive your dreams...it can never be that easy :-).......2006-09-27
As this was the first book I read by Victoria Alexander, I wasn't quite as annoyed with Jocelyn as others were who'd seen her first in other books. I thought she was pretty materialistic and her dream a little too far fetched, but I think all little girls hope to find a prince someday. She did but discovered (eventually) that a prince isn't the husband she was meant to have. I thought her attitude about her beauty to be very matter of fact and probably similar to a lot of other girls in that time period; I mean, there were only so many things a girl could offer and beauty was the first one to be shown.
In the end, she was such an endearing character and her and Rand were so perfect together! A great book by Ms. Alexander, though my favorite so far is Love with the Proper Husband.
Predictable, but who cares? .......2006-04-18
This was a story about a young lady, Joceyln, who always dreamed of marrying a Prince. On the day she believes her Prince will propose, circumstances beyond her control force her to marry another man, Rand. Rand is a very kind and patient man who will warm your heart. Joceyln is a spoled brat and knows it, but she has enough charm to be likeable.
The romance aspect of the novel was very enjoyable. The dialgue between characters was witty and sweet. Some parts are laugh-out-loud funny and some keep you on the edge of your seat.
I consider myself a tough reviewer, so for the average person this could easily be a 4 or 5 star novel. It was my first book by this author and overall I'm very pleased.
A great series !.......2006-02-22
`The Prince's Bride' tells the story of Lady Shelton and Viscount Beaumont the beginning of the search for Avalonia jewels and protecting the Avalonia crown. The two main characters get married quickly and have to learn to love each. Her highness my wife - solve the one of the mysteries of this novel. Check out these other novels that are inter-rated The Marriage Lesson, Her highness my wife, When We Meet Again ( my favorite) , Let It Be Love.
Surprisingly a great book!.......2005-10-12
I was surprised because I found the book about Thomas and Marrianne a bit trite and rather silly. This however was a deeply moving love story. And those of you that felt Jocelyn shallow and annoyingly just another pretty face - well she only was that in about the first chapter. I expected her to be all of that and more after reading about her in the other book. However, considering what happened to her - all of a sudden having to marry someone she did not know at all - and being forced to give up all of her girlhood dreams (no matter if they were silly and superficial) I thought she was quite a good sport about it from almost the first day of the marriage. She could have truly been a pain in the neck for Rand. Acutally more often than not people that are forced to marry in situations like this one or the other continues to be a pain to the other for a very long time. I loved how they decided to take it one step at a time and recognized very quickly that neither was quite as bad as they had thought. Certainly Rand was a handsome gentleman with lots of great qualities. Mostly he was kindly, funny and seemed willing to not assume Jocelyn was only a shallow pretty merinary. These two actually got to know one another and it was very romantic. I love the billard game. All in all this was a grand and glorious love story and I was more than pleased!
FLAWED HEROINE BUT A PERFECT LOVE STORY.......2004-06-21
In the beginning, we see Jocelyn, the heroine as a self-centered and materialistic fortune hunter. However, after overhearing a plot to kill Prince Alexei, Joceyln is forced to run away w/ and marry her protector (who she thinks is next to poor).
This is when the story really becomes interesting. At first, I hated Joceylyn, I'd seen her in The Husband List and The Marriage Lesson. She was so spoiled and mercenary. However, in The Prince's Bride, she really does change for the better--slowly but surely. This is the first time, I've seen such growth in a heroine. By the end of the story, Jocelyn shows just how little fortune and material possessions mean to her (in comparison to love).
The Prince's Bride is packed with suspense, humor, and mystery. Rand is the perfect hero. He will sweep you away! Unlike many romances that only give you a glimpse at the end of the novel, this read allows us to enjoy Rand and Jocelyn as a happy couple at different points throughout the book. There are a few irritating occurences. But, I have to give this book a five because the hero is wonderful and the couple doesn't get caught up in that whole "miscommunication" thing so prevalent in many books.

Book Description
Author Barry Denenberg brings us into the whirlwind that is the life of Princess Elisabeth of Austria. A free and impetuous spirit, Elisabeth was chosen at the tender age of fifteen (over her older sister) to be the wife of Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria. From that moment on, she is thrown into an intimidating world of restrictions and tremendous responsibilities. Feeling lonely and alienated, Elisabeth is forced to rely upon her own personal strength, which is what eventually leads her down the aisle and into an uncertain future.

What a Beautiful Girl, er Book!.......2007-04-24
This story about Elisabeth a.k.a. Sisi, is fascinating in every way possible.
It is about a girl visiting the Emperor to final marriage arrangements between the handsome Emperor and Sisi's sister, Helene. But Franz Joseph is delighted with beautiful Elisabeth, that he choses HER to be his wife, to his mother's dismay. To read more about Elisabeth's life with the Emperor(or about her long, aubourn hair) don't flip through the pages of this novel, but actually read it.
Interesting Take on the Life of an Empress.......2006-10-01
I liked this book. It was a lot of fun to read it. It is about a girl who will marry the Emperor of Austria and become the Empress. I liked how the book described the complex personality of Elisabeth. She likes animals (especially horses), but she also likes looking beautiful. I found her love for the Emperor believable. It was different from other books in the Royal Diaries series because most of the books gloss over girls wanting to look pretty. However, I thought it could have elaborated on her relationship with her mother more. The length was short, but it shouldn't stop you from reading this interesting book.
Elizabeth.......2006-03-02
This is a very good book. It makes you think twice about wanting to be an Empress, Queen, Princess.....
The Princess Bride.......2005-10-22
I have read this book only once, and will probubly not be reading it again. When i look to read these books, i look for books that are detailed, historicly correct, that are fun to read. Ive never heard of Elisabeth, and i do not think alot of people actually have. Well, heres my review -
Elisabeth is a 16 - year - old, soon to be bride. She is to be married to the 'Emperor'. Elisabeth and the 'Emperor' have absolutly nothing in common, except that the are both 'royalty'. Elisabeth is happy, though miserable, due to the fact that her soon - to - be 'mother - in - law' is an absolutly dreadful, controling person.
Some interesting facts about this book:
- - It says that Elisabeth's mother was setting up a meeting with her SISTER to see if the 'Emperor' is a suited match for Elisabeth, or Vice-Versa. (But that would mean they are cousins! omg!)
- - Elisabeth worries greatly how she looks, and dislikes her teeth because of their yellowish color.
- - Elisabeth had four children with the Emperor, and did not even participate in the naming of her first born! (because of her ignorant mother - in - law)
Overall, this book was decent. Nothing much interesting here, though. Some people may like this, but i did not. I would recomend the Royal Diary of Elizabeth I, it is very interesting, fun, and very historicly correct.
It said in the book that Elisabeth was murdered. I think it said she was 60 when she was murdered.
good, but too short, and not enough detail.......2005-10-22
In this book we learn about Princess Elisabeth getting married to the emperor, and that's it. In the first few pages we find out that she is being forced to attend a ball in hopes that the emperor will fall in love with her sister, the plan backfires and the emperor asks her to marry him instead. The rest of the book is pretty much describing her getting prepared for her wedding.

A princely story . . ........2000-07-05
Contemporary category romance novels hold no charm for me. I do NOT want to read about cowboys, babies and/or daddies. But a prince? Hmm. That'll get my attention, every time. I'd never heard of this author before reading this book, but I'll certainly remember her in the future. Prince or no prince.
In this instance, the Prince is Rand of Caldonia, and he is of an age to be married. His parents issue the standard ultimatum. Find yourself a bride, or we'll find one for you. He's investigated some of the current 'available's' only to be bored silly for a multitude of reasons. He needs help. If you want to find an eligible princess-quality person, where would you turn for such help? Why, to the person who is the foremost royalty-watcher in the world. She just happens to be Nicole, who is also a Caldonian, but for the past several years has lived and worked in New York as editor of Aristocrats, a colorful magazine devoted to royal-watching.
How can she resist the offer to help her country's prince find his Cinderella? She can't, and I imagine any of us so appealed to, could not, either. Rand is a pretty with-it prince, although the centuries-old family castle needs a lot of up-dating, especially in the technology area.
Through her sources at the magazine, Nicole finds lots of possible eligibles, but one by one they're eliminated from consideration, until finally -- well, you should read it for yourself. It's a very satisfying book on many levels. Extra fun if you're a royal watcher, yourself!
TRULY A SWEET, SEXY ROMANCE.......1999-09-20
I LOVED The Prince's Bride! It puts tabloid journalism and royalty together -- I mean, can you imagine a tabloid journalist MARRYING a prince? We all know they just follow them around with cameras, right? This is a hilarious idea -- but it truly works in the novel. I fell totally into the dream of marrying a prince and living in a castle -- especially a castle equipped with clawfoot bathtubs and laptop computers.
A fairy tale for modern times.......1999-09-04
If Cinderella had been written in modern times, taking into account today's tabloid press and their fervor to cover royal entanglements, THE PRINCE'S BRIDE would be the result.
Ms. Cozzens paints a vivid picture of life in the royal palace at Caldonia. She keeps readers cheering for the sexy Prince Rand and magazine maven Nicole Aldridge from page one right through to the end, and wondering, "will they or won't they?"
Romance fans will definitely classify THE PRINCE'S BRIDE a "keeper." I look forward to Ms. Cozzens' next book!
Wonderful entertainment!.......1999-09-03
I read this book practically in one sitting. I loved it! A lot of fun, especially if you're a die-hard romantic like me. How many women today grew up with fantasies of being swept off her feet by a prince? Probably most of us. "The Prince's Bride" shows the complications which can arise when a commoner falls under the spell of a prince. A true grown-up fairy tale.
Wow! What a great love story.......1999-09-03
I really enjoyed this book. It was truly romantic, unlike some "romances" I have read. The Prince and Nicole each had to reach deep down and make sacrifices for the one they loved, showing the depth of their feelings. It made me want to cry, but it also made me feel good.

This is the second book in the Carramer Crown series. Prince Michel de Marigny is known as the playboy Prince. However, Michel's reputation is not exactly accurate, but adopting a child that is believed to be his love child, does not help. Michel is bitter to the idea of love after seeing what happened to his brother. Michel believes that a marriage of convience would be the best thing. Luckily, at the age of thirteen Michel was betrothed to Eleanor, and she is legally obligated to marry him. When Michel sends for his future bride, unknown to him, her twin sister comes instead. Caroline has always had a thing for Michel, but more important she wants to protect her sister, who is in love with another man. Caroline hates to lie and soon things get out of hand. It is interesting to see this story play out. A good addition to the series.
