Book Description
Larry. Bob. Archibald. These Veggie Tales stars are the most famous vegetables you'll ever eat. Oops, meet. Their antics are known around the world. But so much of the Veggie Tale story hasn't been told. In
Me, Myself, and Bob, Phil Vischer, founder of Big Idea and creator of Veggie Tales, gives a behind-the-scenes look at his not-so-funny journey with the loveable veggies. From famed creator to bankrupt dreamer, Vischer shares his story of trial and ultimate triumph as God inspired him with one big idea after another.

Life Changing***.......2007-08-01
I guess it is a phrase that is overly used - "life changing". But I truly find Phil's aftermath with God life changing. I learned more in this book than reading tens of theology books. No wonder Jesus often use real life examples to teach his audience.
Every time when I feel like to have to make a mark on this world, I need to re-read the last few chapters of this book. Wow, the Lord really uses this book to change my life.
When life gives you tomatoes, make tomatoe juice.......2007-07-20
With humility and grace that is not something you always find in business men, Phil takes you on the journey from conception, to the unfortunate ending of an empire. He does it in such a way you can still walk away from the book with a smile though because you know that God is not done with Phil yet, not by a long shot.
Much as Veggie Tales pushed the animation edge and proved amazingly successful, his new projects should be just as inspiring and enrapturing of the imagination.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is in Christian Business because it is a good "what to do" and "what not to do" book. You will learn from his painful mistakes, and learn how to make a great business that is bult to last.
An interesting read!.......2007-07-08
For those lovers of Veggie Tales it is fascinating to read what was going on behind the scenes. An intriguing look at the world of animation in the nineties.
Veggie Stew.......2007-07-08
Talk about getting yourself into a pickle! Phil Vischer, the creative mastermind behind the wildly successful VeggieTales, gives us an inside look at the slicing and dicing of his dream.
"Me, Myself, & Bob" has the trademarks of many a good autobiography: honesty, self-assessment without self-pity, and questions that resonate with us all. From humble Midwest beginnings, to the enchantments of Walt Disney, to the not-so-innocent offerings of MTV, Phil gives us peeks into his isolated childhood and his desire to do something great for God. His parents' divorce drove him deeper into a shell, where he thrived on exploring film and animation. These gifts led him through trials and struggles, but eventually to the formation of a studio which would break sales records and become a household name to many.
The success was proof of God's blessing, wasn't it? In the name of American Christianity, wouldn't it be even more godly to make things bigger and better--a Christian rival to the "valueless" entertainment from Disney?
The story of VeggieTales rise and fall is sobering, full of lessons for all who think they have a "vision." Phil Vischer challenges this way of thinking, presenting his own life as a cautionary tale. He does so with humor, humility, and final thoughts on what it means to truly receive and follow revelation from God. After the stew he got himself into, Phil shows he has learned to serve a God larger and yet much more intimate than the idols of wealth and success. The story reads quickly, but the concepts here are ones to use for a lifetime.
Has he got a story for you!.......2007-07-05
By the mere cover of this book, I wasn't sure whether to expect outright hilarity on every page, or something a little more. It turns out I got more than I bargained for, and the lessons are imperitive, at least in the Christian walk of life. Hey, I did find myself laughing out loud in lots of different places in this. But I also found myself amazed at the humility that Phil Vischer allowed himself. He basically held nothing back! In parts, this was like walking into a theme park, with all the attractions you ever dreamed of. Then in others, it was like going into an operating room to watch open heart surgery, only to stand there and say nothing as the chest cavity is ripped open to examine the heart. Yeah, I think this was something special, as well as something personal.
I loved the chapters about Phil's fascination with technology, with cameras, with anything to do with changing the world of childrens' entertainment! When I read about him getting kicked out of Bible college, he sounded like my kind of guy. Phil had a dream, and he wanted to be like Walt Disney. And you get all kinds of great stories, including how he met Mike Nawrocki, voice of Larry the Cucumber. It tells of a dream, a dream God had given him. It tells of the great rise of Big Idea...and then some! And he talks a little bit about some of the episodes, some of his ideas. You feel the exhaustion of how it felt to finally finish the first Veggie Tales episode, "Where's God When I'm S-scared?" You feel the pressure from up on top, when it should be you that should be on top. But as lots of stories go, along with the great laughs, come a few humble tears.
There are lessons involved, and one of the final chapters in this is dedicated to "What have we learned?" The chapter is simply entitled, "Lessons." I think one of the key lessons is to take the dreams we call "OUR DREAMS," and give them to God. Then when and if they become GOD'S DREAMS, it might make more sense. There are parts in here that are gut wrenchers! Sometimes you just have to die to self and give in over to God. WOW! So, if you picked this up in anticipation of, "Silly Songs With Larry," or even "Somber Moments With Bob," for a simple laugh, you've probably come to the wrong place. If you're looking for honesty, for somebody to tug at the stitches once the incision has been closed, as well as a little humor added here and there, then check it out! Get ready for a life lesson or two. Bob is always the first to announce, "Have we got a show for you!" at the beginning of every Veggie Tales episode. Well, Bob's still clearly in the picture. But it happens to be Phil's story. And has he got a story for you!

Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me.......2007-09-24
A beautiful book that my twin 3-year-old granddaughters want me to read over and over. Be sure to order the large hardback copy to enjoy the fold-out pages and beautiful illustrations.
DISAPPOINTED IN THE SIZE.......2007-09-11
THE STORY WAS EXCELLENT,MY CHILDREN LOVED IT, I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THE SIZE OF THE BOOK.
Disappointed.......2007-08-23
I thought I was getting a full-sized book, but instead I received this teeny-tiny mini book that is so small I don't see what the purpose of having it is. I don't remember seeing anywhere that the book would be 2 " X 3" - so just a warning to anyone who thinks they are ordering a normal book.
misadvertised.......2007-05-07
The book was listed as a hard covered book. It did not say that it was a mini book. The child was very disappointed. Amazon did give me a $10 credit but I have to look for the proper sized book elsewhere.
Invest in LARGER hardcover.......2007-04-07
I bought the Hardcover version of this book that was $6.99. I was pretty disappointed when I received it and found that it was the size of my HAND. The print is also tiny, which makes it hard to read. I would tell anyone looking at this book to buy the more expensive and larger copy of this book.
Other than it being very small, this is a great book. The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is really cute. I also think the fold out pages are great. Eric Carle is wonderful!

AMAZING SERIES!! IS A MUST READ!.......2006-06-24
I got the entire series this past Christmas. I had read the first 2 because although my library had more, they didn't have all of them, and they didn't have the 3rd and I don't like to read things out of order so I was really sad. So then I was soo happy to find out they were being republished by Image Cascading!!!
So yea I read them all and they all rock!!! It's nice seeing what teenagers did back in the 50's. And it was also nice how different people's relationships were with their family's, I wish it were more like that today. And they are also way more responsible and mature then we are now. Making their own money, not having to depend on their parents for everything. And their parents respect and trust them more too! And they definatly treat their parents with much respect which is ALOT more then I can say about kids of today.
The first book is about Beany's older sister, Mary Fred. It is in MF's junior year of highschool, when Beany is in 8th grade. The rest of the books are all about Beany, in highschool, college, and then when she gets married. And let me just say I LOVE who she ends up with. They are SOOO cute!!!
Everyone should read these books they are amazing and are definatly one of my favorite books ever!

Meet Ashley Patterson, the brainy, babelicious "computer whiz" and confused heroine of Tell Me Your Dreams. Although she has a cushy job at Global Computer Graphics, a fast-growing start-up in Silicon Valley, her life falls short of fulfilling. She's lonely, shy, and absolutely convinced she's being stalked. What's worse, the only sympathetic ear around is her father, Dr. Patterson, the heartless heart surgeon, who has the charm of an electric eel and the compassion of a tarantula. Given her options, Ashley looks to the heavens for support and offers up an ultimatum to the Almighty: "I'll make a deal with you, God. If it doesn't rain, it means that everything is all right, that I've been imagining everything." Of course, it starts raining buckets just paragraphs later, setting off a car alarm of an omen about our computer cutie's fate.
Enter Toni Prescott and Alette Peters. They both work with Ashley at Global Computer Graphics, but the similarities end there. Toni is a saucy, British vixen with a penchant for Internet dating and discotheques. La bella Italiana Alette, on the other hand, is a wannabe artist who prefers quiet, dreamy weekends with beefcake painters. Reminiscent of junior high school, Toni and Alette do their best to keep Ashley out of their cool clique, but find it difficult when a string of murders irrevocably binds them together. Based on a true story and laden with realistic details--not to mention a whopper of an ending--Tell Me Your Dreams is vintage Sheldon. However, there is one necessary caveat: avoid moviegoer types who insist on telling you the entire plot before you have a chance to see it. You should be doing this anyway, but take extra care with this book. Once the surprise ending is blown, so is the fun in reading it. --Rebekah Warren

A Definite Page Turner.......2007-06-05
Multiple personality disorder is the subject of this Sheldon work and it is nothing short of outstanding. The story centers around the character of serene Ashley Patterson, 28 year old graphic artist at a company called Global Computer Graphics. Toni Prescott is 22 years old with a powerful desire to stir things up and live on the edge. Alette Peters is a low-key type personality always trying to keep Toni from blowing up but in the end, giving into whatever Toni says. As the story unfolds and Ashley's memory takes on more and more black holes, the reader realizes that this is a dire situation, involving murder, that may be next to impossible to correct. Sheldon takes us deep into the minds of the three personalities and keeps us on the edge of our seats to see "what happens next," never knowing who will prevail. In the words of a familiar children's song, "pop! goes the weasel" - you'll have to read the book to understand the real meaning of this phrase.
Sidney Sheldon is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-01-04
Sidney Sheldon held my attention once again w/his lovely dialogue. He fashions a story that you can really sink ur teeth into!!
I couldn't put it down.......2006-10-20
This is the only book I have found that I could not put down. It keeps you in suspense, while you tilt on the edge of your seat. The ending is such a surprise!!! Get ready for a wonderful thrill!
A Simple, Easy, Forgettable Read .......2006-08-20
This review is for the Warner Books paperback edition reissued in June 2005, 363 pages of story. TELL ME YOUR DREAMS was on the USA Today top 150 best sellers list for 26 weeks between September 1998 and October 1999, reaching a peak position of number five.
Three lovely young ladies who work for Global Computer Graphics in Silicon Valley are implicated in the brutal murder and mutilation of five more or less nice men. Although perplexing, the evidence against them seems irrefutable and by the time the case goes to trial we know who done it, but not until the story is nearly finished will we understand why.
TELL ME YOUR DREAMS has cops, detectives, lawyers and doctors, but it does not dwell on police procedure, sleuthing, legalize or medical practice. Set in California, it touches on Quebec, London and Rome but with the slimmest of description. This is a simple, easy, forgettable read.
Entertaining and preposterous low-brow reading.......2006-06-24
I travel a lot, so I read a lot of Sheldon to pass the time in airports. This is definitely one of the more fantastically crazy thrillers, albeit based on a "real" story and medical condition. Where Ashley finds the time, even unconsciously, to hone her skills as a Broadway-level entertainer, a potential Picasso, a trilinguist AND a computer whiz is beyond me. Talk about getting laid constantly even when she doesn't want to! Some of the affairs are believable but really, a sheriff devoted to his dying wife who sees her naked and just HAS to do it to her in her sleep? Ewwww...and Sheldon sure likes his "tough black woman judges" (see Nothing Lasts Forever).
But one doesn't expect classic lit here, rather escapist fun. Although I do think some of Sheldon's other works (Master of the Game, other earlier stuff) were better crafted.

I got what I was looking for.......2007-06-23
Nothing aches the soul more than loving a man so much and desiring only him and having that same love focused on you by the man that it burns it the most harmful way. A man's deep love can quite easily become the man's demise. The love turns to jealous rage and through many stages finally leads to hate. His hatred spurns hatred from his love and the relationship becomes quite literally a love-hate relationship. It is not until it is too late that you realized that this relationship is destructive and needs to be eliminated before you reach your own demise at his hands. It is a curious thing how one man's love turns into this but love from another man can reach such tenderness that it lifts the souls to such pure light and love. I had the unfortunate experience of a man whose love turned destructive much like Sora's experience with Flint. Then when he was gone, my heart ached even though it knew that it was for the best. For Katherine O'Neal Gear to capture such a realistic scandal was mesmerizing. This was by far her best work. When the twisting perils first began I was not sure how the story would end. I was disappointed twice by the first chapters of this story because of a missing conclusion. All my answers have been found and I got the conclusion that I so desperately sought. I found a tender love light Sora found in Strongheart and by the end of the story I was literally in tears at the heartfelt ending. I am not the type to easily shed tears either. I look forward to seeing more of her work.
Book 3 in a triogy........2007-06-09
This is the last and best in the triogy. The triogy should only be read by older teens or adults because it has a lot of adult themes in it. Book 3 finally anwsers all the Questions from book 1 and its amazing.

Every little bunny should have a brother as kind and thoughtful as Willa's big brother Willoughby. When Willa can't sleep because she is so afraid of bad dreams, her brother leans down from the top bunk to encourage his little sister to think happy thoughts... about her chicken slippers, her blue-and-white jumpsuit, and tomorrow's anticipated pleasures. That very night, Willoughby takes Willa on a piggy-back ride around the cozy tree house to check on her breakfast food, her toys in their basket, and the quiet world sleeping outside, all the while explaining in soft, soothing tones how everything in their snug little world is waiting for the next morning to unfold. He tells her that the morning is waiting "For grass to grow, flowers to bloom, and leaves to flutter. For clouds to float, wind to blow, and sun to shine. For birds to fly, bees to buzz, and ducks to quack." "'That's a lot of happy things,' said Willa." Joyce Dunbar knows just how to set the scene for sleep, and Debi Gliori's charming, expressive bunnies are very, very cute. (Click to see a sample spread. How 'bout happier?.......2007-07-04
I, as a non-artist, can think of much more inspiring reasons for a small child to be happy at bedtime. Disappointing and shallow.
Adorable book for siblings.......2006-04-30
My kids love this book, especially when I replace the bunnies names with my kids' names. It's an adorable story about how an older sibling makes an effort to comfort his little sister and she returns the love. Very sweet with "cuddly" illustrations. Perfect for bedtime!
My favorite children's book.......2006-04-24
I found this book breathtakingly beautiful. I love the way it is written as well as the illustrations. It is written and illustrated by women which is a plus. It is a pleasure to give this book as a gift to little ones.
Charming Illustrations.......2005-09-27
The illustrations in this book are charming. The text itself wasn't quite what I was expecting. More about why you need to go to sleep than about "Happy thoughts to sleep/dream by" Still, the pictures are beautiful.
Favorite Bedtime Book.......2005-09-17
This is the best bedtime story. It's so sweet how the older brother comforts his little sister's fear of bad dreams. Beautifully illustrated and teaches your child to be empathetic and comforting.

Customer Reviews:
beautifully illustrated.......2007-10-11
I am from West Virginia so Country Roads has always been dear to my heart, especially being a WVU grad where it is blasting all over town on football Saturdays! I bought this for my nephew and I'm sure he will love all of the illustrations as much as I do. Lots to look at on each page and I love how the illustrations are done as if it has been quilted.
Great for all ages..........2007-08-15
My son received this book as a gift for his first birthday. He loves it (and he has no clue who John Denver is)! We've read/sang it a hundred + times. He loves looking at the illustrations, as do I. My husband & I graduated from WVU, so this song is near & dear to our hearts. We hope to make a little Mountaineer out of our son too....this is a good start.
Another great John Denver/Christopher Canyon work!.......2007-06-26
A great song with amazing illustrations. All the pictures look like quilt pieces. This song is timeless and kids love it. I've got kindergarteners who can belt this out and they never get tired of reading/singing it over and over. Very well done. Can't wait for more John Denver songs to come out.
AWESOME!.......2007-05-25
John Denver's music paints a beautiful picture in your mind, but this book brings it to life even more! Book is very animated---almost seems like the pictures move as the vehicles go up and down the rolling hill. Great quilted-look art that covers almost every space in this book. LOTS of things going on (you could look at this book all day long and still find something new the next day) Well worth the money!!! Get is for all your John Denver fans :)
It took me home.......2006-11-03
I thought the book was adorable and will preserve John Denver's song for future generations. I have introduced his music to my young nieces and nephews. They know who he is now just by the sound of his music. Thanks for the latest addition to my library and the John Denver childrens collection.

Erotic Fantasy, combined with a Meaningful Love Story. Original, Gripping, and Passionate........2006-07-14
It has been a long time since I've found such a unique story. I never felt bored and I never was certain that I could guess what would happen next. A breathe of fresh air.
The love scenes are some of the most erotic I've ever read, yet they never became vulgar. The romance is very pure and still completely intense. Very smart writing. Lisa Cach has earned my respect. Cach manages to include world travel, exotic fantasy love scenes, true romance, pure love, suspense, war, and triumph into one tale without making your head spin. The story flows from cover to cover.
The Story:
Theron is an incubus (a demon who brings erotic dreams to women) who has had enough of his empty existence. He wants to be human so that he can really feel both physically and emotionally. He wants his actions to make an impact upon the world.
In an effort to take over a human body, Theron makes a pact with Prince Vlad Draco. The Price wants Theron to use his powers to win Vlad marriage with Princess Lucia of Maramures. This would give Vlad the rule of her country. Vlad is obsessed with taking virgins. He has Lucia locked in a tower at age 14, where she will never be allowed contact with any males. She is also never to be taught anything about sex or conception. Vlad wants her to be an "empty page" that he can "write upon." He is going away to war and will wed her when he returns. In exchange, Vlad agrees to give Theron the use of his body for 3 days, allowing Theron to exist in the human world. Theron warns Vlad that if he should renege on his part of the bargain, Theron will visit Lucia with erotic dreams every night until her innocence is destroyed.
For 6 years, Lucia has lived in a tower, cut off from the world. She has girlish dreams about her betrothed, Vlad. Little does she know he is a rapist and violent beast. After being forgotten for so many years, Lucia is restless. She has not once received word from Vlad. She is determined to learn what it means when she is forced to remain "innocent." ("Innocent of what?")
For 6 long years, Theron has waited for Vlad to fulfill his end of their bargain. Vlad has no intention of doing so. Instead, he tries to capture Theron with sorcery. Theron has lost his patience. He goes to visit Lucia. He is surprised to find that, after the shock of his first visit, she welcomes him to return to her every night. Lucia has not had a friend since she was 14. Theron is the first "being" to spend time talking to her and teaching her about the outside world. Each night he takes her away to a new and exotic part of the world. Through dreams, he shows her all of the wonders of different countries. He also teaches her everything about physical pleasure. Being an incubus, he has no heart and no soul. However, once he is touched by a price who holds wizardry, he begins to feel human emotions. Night after night he visits Lucia. He can't stay away. The two fall in love.
The war is almost over. Vlad can't wait to return and ensnare his bride. He sends his brother, Gabriel, ahead to insure her purity is still intact. Disguised as a priest, Gabriel makes every effort to capture Theron.
Lucia is smothered by her own guilt. She believes her betrothed has been faithful to her over the past 6 years. She is also feeling the weight of her responsibility to her country, as their future queen. She tries to control her attraction to Theron.
Theron's chance to become human has about run out. In a couple of days, Vlad will be returning to claim Lucia. Knowing how cruel and violent Vlad is, Theron will do anything to save her from his grasp. If he tries to force his way into Vlad's unwilling body, both the demon and the man will perish. Theron is willing to sacrifice his own existence in order to kill Vlad. With the purity and unselfishness of his love for Lucia, Theron is ready to plunge himself into eternal darkness.
The final scene of the epilogue involves a twist that begs for a sequel. I'll be watching for it.
The circle draws to a close.......2005-01-03
Dream of Me follows the Incubus Theron as he tries to possess the body of Vlad Draco and thus lead a human life of importance; something that existing as a dream demon notably lacks. His plan, thanks to the help of a succubus named Samira, seems to go well. He destroys an arranged marriage and delivers a 'pure bride' to Vlad. Yet the man refuses to let Theron have his body for the agreed upon three days, no doubt sensing that Theron has no intention of returning the body once he claims it. When the Queen of the Night invites Theron to join her harem, the incubus panics. He needs to do something and fast. He sets his sights on Vlad's lovely virgin bride, Lucia (whose marriage to Nicolae it was that Theron and Samira destroyed). Theron plans to deflower the innocent and spoil Vlad's pleasure. But there is more to Lucia than Theron thinks, she is the first human woman that can see and communicate with him. A splendidly dark paranormal romance. Recommended.
Theron is a dream lover.......2004-12-12
But he is clueless as heck when it comes to women. He falls in love with his intended victim and then well, you can guess the rest.
This book was better than the previous one, I liked the two lead characters much better. Vlad is a scary man, but hey, the last line of the book really made me smile. I liked that it tied in to real history. Now HE would have made a wonderful incubus.
This may be the best and most original romance of the year.......2004-12-04
I devoured this book, which blew me away in its daring and originality.
The hero, Theron, is an incubus, a dream demon who has spent thousands of years giving women sexual dreams. He strikes a bargain with Vlad of Moldavia. In exchange for creating an enmity between the rulers of two lands, Dragosh of Maramures and Bogdan of Moldavia, Vlad promises he will allow Theron to possess Vlad's body for three days. Neither Vlad nor Theron, however, is making an honest deal. Theron does not plan on ever leaving Vlad's body. Vlad has no intention of ever letting Theron into his body at all.
Theron arranges for his demon friend Samira to give Dragosh a nightmare that has the effect Vlad was hoping for. After waking from it, Dragosh imprisons his once-beloved sister Lucia in a castle, breaks her betrothal to one of Bogdan's sons, and betrothes her to Vlad instead.
Six years pass, and Vlad does not keep his end of the bargain. But Theron still has one joker up his sleeve. If Vlad does not allow him to possess his body, Theron has threatened to visit his fiancee, Lucia, in her sleep, and use his dreams to teach her every sexual act he knows of.
Lucia is isolated in a castle with only women for company, mostly a kindly but senile old nun and her maid who secretly disdains her. At the behest of her brother and fiance, both women constantly harp on Lucia to preserve her purity, so she secretly feels ashamed about her body. Lucia is lonely and her self-esteem is low, because she has no real friends. Vlad is a cruel man but since Lucia only met him once she's not aware of that. She spends her days daydreaming about the kind and gentle prince who will one day come to her. She doesn't know that the one coming to her is Theron who plans to seduce her in her dreams for revenge.
DREAM OF ME is a dark, dark, erotic fairy tale. Because of all her daydreams, Lucia exerts more control over her dreams than most women do, and she is determined to stay pure and true to her fiance, who she thinks is kind and gentle, even in her dreams. But Theron is just as, if not more so, determined to seduce her mental virginity away from her. But in order to do so, he has to make his dream self take on some of the kindness and gentleness of Lucia's dream prince.
Though DREAM OF ME is not perfect, it is very daring and original. I loved that Cach was not afraid to make Theron as dark as she did. And I was mentally fanning myself as I read this book.
There were two main flaws in the book for me. The first (and this was also true of COME TO ME, the prequel) is that the language sounded too contemporary for the medieval era characters. The second, also true of both books, was that I never really felt like I was in Transylvania or Moldavia, where the story takes place. I didn't get much sense of the climate, the vegetation, the food, or the dialect of this foreign land.
Nontheless, I loved DREAM OF ME. It's rare to find a romance that truly surprises me anymore, and this one definitely did. It was truly original, unique, and different. It's definitely not the kind of book that will work for everyone, but it worked for me in spades. I hope Cach writes more books as dark and unique as this one. I know I will be the first in line to buy them!
excellent paranormal.......2004-11-28
After the slight disappointment of Come to Me, I'm really glad I opted to buy this one new, both to read it and to support Cach. This is the kind of book from her that I'd hoped Come to Me would be. Overall it has a slightly darker tone lightened with flashes of Cach humor. The world is well thought out and described, the characters
are consistent, their changes are believable and don't feel forced or too about face.
There is a great deal of sexual tension throughout the story (the true love scene
doesn't arrive until the very end). Some might quibble about how ignorant the
heroine is about sex but I kept in mind that she was raised in a convent,
was never around young women her own age and status with whom she
could gossip, lived in an environment where there were no men and the
women around her who might have set her straight had been threatened
with torture by her fiance should she learn "the facts of life." (The reasons
are all explained in the book) But Theron soon sets about opening her
eyes to life and in her dreams, they begin a passionate relationship.
I like how Cach shows Theron's gradual realization of the life to which
his actions have condemned Lucia. How he really "sees" it and hates
what he's done. And how once he and Lucia have had their great
confrontation, his thoughts are not of revenge against her but how
he can save her from a terrible marriage and future life. Her reasons
for what she does were slightly more shaky to me but not totally
unbelievable.
I did also like the changes in Lucia. She starts off as a kind of dreamy
(and sort of self indulgent) young woman who has to face some hard
truths about herself. That she does and matures from them is a nice
treat.
The secondary characters add needed elements to the story and aren't
just place holders. Some of them aren't too nice (and it's nice to see
them get what they deserve). The opium withdrawal illusions of one
character are deliciously fun to read.
As to the question of which book should be read first, I think you could
start with either one. The main reason to read Come to Me first is to
find out just what was in the dream that precipitated both stories. If you
read the prologue of CtM, you'll know. I think we see enough of Theron's
character and drive to obtain his goal to appreciate how much he changes
over the course of the story.
While I wouldn't give this one a straight A, it comes close and will probably
end up an extremely high B or A- for me.
