Book Description
The saga of the Lucas, Monroe, and Dawson families, introduced in New Mexico Sunrise, echoes across the vast open landscape of a state in its infancy. Now the next generation must take up the pioneer spirit of their parents and lay claim to their place in a changing world. Pamela Charbonneau thought The Heart's Calling was leading her back to Colorado - and her forbidden love - but it takes a sudden turn when she forges a friendship with Jim Williams. Can she find her destiny along the barren westward trail? Feeling stifled by her overprotective father, Daughtry Lucas answers an advertisement and becomes Mrs. Nicholas Dawson in a marriage by proxy. Will this marriage between strangers succeed, or will Forever Yours remain a distant dream because of Nick's dark past? Angelique Monroe can't resist a worthy cause, and this time Angel's Cause is the women's suffrage movement. But her lifelong friend, Gavin Lucas, doesn't trust her new political acquaintances. Who will Angel rely on when her life is on the line? Joelle Dawson and John Monroe pledged their love and promised to marry in Come Away My Love, but the cruelties of life have victimized them both. Can they find healing together, or are their hearts broken beyond repair? You'll be captivated by this collection of four complete novels by award-winning author Tracie Peterson. The tales of inspiring love in New Mexico Sunset are stories you'll treasure for years to come.

The sequel to N.M. Sunrise is even better then the first.......2005-01-03
In "The Heart's Calling" Pamela thinks she is in love with a man back in Kansas City whom her parents disapprove of and believe is only after her money. When Pamela learns of the Dawson's plans on going to Colorado she invites herself along. Going for a midnight walk she finds herself kidnapped, believing it is her love come to rescue her she offers no resistance. Much to her shock, she finds out that it isn't her love, but a complete stranger named Jim. Jim has a surprise in store to, he thought he was kidnapping Zandy.
On his way back to bring her home, they are set upon by another set of kidnappers. They leave Jim for dead and take Pamela for ransom. In all this turmoil both Jim and Pamela grow up enough to realize who they really love.
In "Forever Yours" Daughtry Lucas runs away from home when her father and brothers become to overbearing. She sees an advertisement for a bride in the paper and she writes to him. When he writes back she is quite taken by the way he signs his letter. Forever Yours. In one last attempt to reason with her father, he refuses to back off, so she leaves that night to become Mrs. Nicholas Dawson. They are married by proxy and she arrives at her new home, but Nicholas is nowhere to be seen. She spends days cleaning the house and falling more and more in love with her husband, who she has yet to meet. When Nicholas finally arrives he realizes how much God has blessed him with this little wife of his. Both hide a secret from each other, one is hiding from her father, the other from a group of outlaws. As they face each of there pasts their relationship grows, as does their love.
"Angel's Cause" is all about a strong minded girl who always has a certain cause. This time she's taken up the women's suffrage movement. She runs from home to join her new political friends and her parents send Gavin Lucas out to fetch her home. Gavin becomes more and more worried about her as he overhears conversations of her so-called friends. He then comes to her rescue when she needs him the most.
and finally in "Come Away My Love" Joelle and John plan to be married until John is in a plane crash and is in danger of never walking again. Joelle tells him that it doesn't matter and that she can support them both. But he thinks if he can't support her like a proper husband then she must find someone else. Joelle is determined and she slowly brings him around, until tragedy strikes again. When renegades attack to kill all soldiers, Joelle and John's mother try to hide him and Joelle goes out to try and hold them off. When all is clear, and John's mother goes out to find Joelle, she meets with a horrible sight. Feeling used and unclean, Joelle refuses to see John, thinking she is no longer worthy of him. He begs her not to do this to herself but when she finds she is with child she runs away. John begins to learn to walk again with one thought on his mind, to go and bring Joelle, his only love, home . . .
New Mexico Sunset is a wonderful set of stories. I've read them all a countless amount of times. Tracie Peterson is a marvel in the way she intertwines faith and life so there is no longer a difference, but they become one and the same.
New Mexico Sunset by Tracie Peterson.......2003-06-04
If I could have given this book a thousand stars, I would have. I would like to see more like this from Tracie.
Meet the grown children from New Mexico Sunrise.......2002-01-26
After book one, the author fast forwards a few decades and introduces the adult children of the first book. It is done very well, with enough of the familiar to make the reader comfortable, enough new to keep interest and more than enough intrigue for me!
There are, again, four short books in one. The first, The Heart's Calling, is Pamela's story. She is a rebellious young woman who loves the shady Brady. Her parents attempt to stop this destined to fail romance and send her away to live with her grandmother. While there, sulking and hoping to run away, she is suddenly abducted, but not by the man she hopes has come for her. Threading the story back to book one, the reader immediately knows why the kidnapping happened and who it was intended to save. However, I am not sure who was the more surprised, the kidnapper or the victim!
Forever Yours follows, with 23 yr. old independent, stubborn Daughtry Lucas trying to escape the smothering she perceives she is getting from her father, Garrett. As a remedy, she secretly answers a mail order bride ad. She decides to suddenly run away to accomplish her "freedom" all the while having no idea that even as she is using Nicholas Dawson, he is using her as well! He is her ticket to freedom from her home and father, and he, himself has a less than open and fair agenda.
In number three, Angeline is chasing the cause of womens' right
to vote. She meets and follows a strong but deceptive Willa and an even more dastardly Douglas on the circuit for suffrage. She is very young, headstrong and stubborn but finds herself in grave danger and finally realizes the value of an old childhood friendship. But does she realize this just a bit too late?
The last story takes place a little later still - Come Away My Love. Joelle Dawson plans to marry the handsome pilot son of the local town doctor, Daniel Monroe. Howver, while they are engaged, John's horrible accident threatens their relationshop and redirects their lives. When John finds himself paralyzed, Joelle has some serious decisions to make. John tries to make her hate him for the less than whole man he has become. She, on the other hand makes his recovery her purpose in life. In the small Texas town of his rehab, a horrible, violent accident takes its toll on Joelle. This time, it's not only physical, it is mentally, emotionally and sexually destructive. How do these two young Christians in love survive the incredible odds of ever finding happiness? This last story was my favorite of them all. You will be surprised with the ending of this wonderful Tracie Peterson duo set in the young New Mexico wilderness.

Affair With Elvis.......2005-12-29
I think this story is true. so many people claim to have been close to Elvis but do not have the people to back it up. but joyce does all the guys close to Elvis are still around and she talks about them a lot. I take it she was the woman before the well known Linda. this book is good and gives us a close up look at the last years of Elvis's life. and a look into the drug use and how it really messed up his life. this is a book you will want to read again someday i know i will.
HER light will never dim.......2002-10-25
I was completely blown away by the strength of emotions presented to me as a reader.
Joyce's courage and love for Elvis was so palpable, so intense, I was almost embarassed by the emotions I would find inside myself when reading this book.
I often would talk to my wife of Joyces' story and together we would sit and reflect on how intense this love was.
The dispair, fear, futility and finally (sadly), her resignation to the fact that, despite how powerful their love was for each other, despite how much Joyce was willing to sacrifice for that love (for sacrifice she surely did), the only way she could save herself from a terrible fate was to leave the very thing that made her feel complete.
If my words make no sense to you, I apologize. Every time I try to put the feelings that this book caused me to have into words, I inevitably cannot.
I would often talk to a dear friend of this story as well. More often than not, I would have to just stop and catch my breath because I could not put my feelings into the right words.
Joyce, you truly are a remarkable, wonderful and beautiful person. Your strength to finally end your life with Elvis was probably one of the toughest things to do.
But it made you a much stronger person.
Truly remarkable. Thank you.
My review on Joyce Bova.......2002-05-16
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in hearing the story from a woman who truly loved Elvis- I found myself completing this book in 3 days. It has been one of the best books that I have read regarding Elvis as a person. If I was able to say anything to Ms. Bova it would be "thank you" for allowing a fan like myself to get to know how Elvis was on a more personal level. I admire your strenght and think you were a very special and memorable piece in the complex life that was Elvis Presley.
One of the best I have read.............2002-03-24
I really enjoyed this book and hope to read it many more times. I felt a real empathy with Joyce Bova and think she truly cared for Elvis. I disagreed with many of the things she did [especially the abortion] but who knows what we would have done in her place. It is not for others to judge her. I felt I really liked Joyce Bova through reading the book and would love to know what she is doing now and whether she would feel able to make contact with Elvis fans.
What a book !.................2000-12-09
I have read this book about 3-times. And I can honestly say that I liked it very much. Bova gives us alot of insight to Elvis the "man" and not so much the Entertainer. Although Im not sure how she can recall every conversation they every had. And I did get the feeling, she was not so much in love with him ( I say this because she chose to abort his baby, without ever teling him! ) And I have a problem with her acting like it was ok, to be sleeping with a marraide man, since she says "Elvis assures me he and Priscilla are marraide in name only" However, over all this is a very good book, and gives alot of information about him, most people prabaly dont know. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to know more about Elvis the man.

Customer Reviews:
A Very Sensual Read.......2007-03-22
Well I got this book because the previous reviews were so funny citing too much "crying" going on in the story between the characters I was intrigued and had to see for myself since others had really liked it. I can say that I found the story most enjoyable and definitely the main characters had very good chemistry. Now this is a romance and for thoae folks who read romances and don't undersrand the formula yet then you are not a true romance reader. It is always an important element for any romance that the two main characters have an instant attraction,so I think when Stephen caught sight of the beautiful Lauren while he jogged through the park it was a perfect, because he had not been looking for a woman to fit into his life she just happened by. And he in true romantic form made ssure he continued to jog everyday in the park at the same time so he could see her again. Now some folks who read this thought this was stalking, NOT, clearly the man had to work up his nerve to meet her, which by the way was very funny first meeting. For a interracial romance I think this story was great it didn't dwell on the tiresome cliches of the white man and black woman relationship. Clearly, their are going tobe problems because there is always going to be intolerance somewhere, but not so much so that writers rely on the same old cliches to build conflict in their story. I like the fact that tis stroy had a mystery intangled in their relationship. I would have given this book a five star rating but I thought that Stephen and Lauren could have been better developed dropping last minute surprises about Stephen's wealth and the fact that he is a very passionate romantic man needed stronger development so when he and Lauren shared their tears it wouldn't have seemed so silly. These two have bee hurt before by people they thought they could trust only to be betrayed later, they had this in common
but it just didn't get developed enough so that the reader could really understand Stephen when he goes into a rage of anger when he thinks Lauren has betrayed him. So I say buy this book if you are a real romance fan, its funny, passionate, emotional but very sensual.
Could have been better written.......2006-04-09
This book had the potential to be really good, but the author failed to pull it off. One, the book felt very rushed and the relationship moved entirely too quickly for me. One minute the hero is watching the heroine from afar trying to build the courage to make his first move, and in the next the couple is in a relationship and the heroine has decided to move with the hero to another city. I personally don't know of anyone who would move to another city with someone they have known for less than three months. Also, I found it a bit scary how much everyone cried in the book, especially the male characters. I am all for men showing their feelings, but it was a bit much in the book. The heroines attitude towards the middle and end of the book became so annoying at times that I couldn't wait for the book to end. She was always judging the hero based on past relationships and assigning blame to others instead of looking within and questioning whether some of the things that have happened to her might be of her own doing. Lastly, there were far too many spelling and grammatical errors for my liking. A few I can deal with, but when I want to take out a red pen and make changes, that's a problem!
good but could have been much better.......2005-12-02
I found the characters very likeable.
The only problem that I had with them is that they cried entirely too much. The woman had a real emotional problem and the guy was masculine but he also shed tears easily.
The thing that annoyed me the most was all of the typos. I guess it was self published so, in that case you can expect typos but still annoying.
I really hated that she added that bit of mystery and danger at the end of the book. Why? The book was pretty much over so why bother then.
Despite everything said I did enjoy this story. I liked all of the characters and the author did a good job of presenting them.
Scary.......2005-10-02
This book was not romantic. It was scary. What woman in her right mind would date a mind who has been watching her for weeks? She comfortable enough to use the bathroom with him in the room, she moved to another town with him yet they still didn't know each other's birthday. That didn't make any sense at all. Another thing that bothered me is that Stephen never wanted to talk about his past! Almost everythig she learned she learned froom his friends. SCARY!
A nice book........2005-09-06
I thought this was a nice book. The story was different and the story moves along very well. The two characters are very likable.
This is a good read.

Book Description
Ciaran Timberlane is a dishonored knight, living in exile. Amie de Langois is a woman in hiding from her brutal husband, living on Timberlane's land. Timberlane has nothing to lose by defying the law to protect Amie-nothing except his heart...
Customer Reviews:
Just okay and easily forgettable.......2006-11-01
Ciaran Tamberlane is a former Templar and knight of the Crusaders, disillusioned by the Crusades. He took his oath to join the holy order with all the dreams of an idealist and followed his king to Jerusalem where harsh and cruel reality stripped him of his ideals. Tiring of the abject cruelty and torture heaped on the helpless and the defenseless, Ciaran turned on a fellow Templar and cut off his arm to save a girl and her child from his cruelty.
Consequently, Ciaran was excommunicated and expelled from the holy order. He quietly returned to England and took up residence at Taniere castle where endless nightmares and guilt robbed him of sleep.
While hunting, Ciaran and his knights happened upon a village under attack by unknown mercenaries. The mercenaries were well into their attack, murdering everyone in sight, when Ciaran and his group fought and chased them away. Only one survivor was found: a young woman teetering on the edge of death.
Ciaran's healer is able to save her and they quickly discover her identity. She is Amaranth de Langois, cousin to King Richard, and she is running away from her husband, whom she almost killed on their wedding night. Amaranth's life has been plagued by torture and cruelty at the hands of her first two husbands. When she almost killed her second husband on their wedding night, he was about to beat her for supposedly making a pass at his brother.
When Amaranth's husband arrives at Taniere Castle to look for his wife, Ciaran hides her away, but he knows he cannot keep her hidden for long. With only a few options at their disposal, Ciaran reluctantly agrees to Amaranth's plan: to escort her to a distant abbey where she can live in safety. But their travel plans change when a monk gives them the news that King Richard is on his way back to England and that Prince John has hired every known assassin to kill Richard before he reaches London.
In the end, Ciaran finds favor again in Richard's eyes when he helps thwart Prince John's plans and without hesitation, he asks and is granted permission to marry Amaranth.
I thought the storyline was pretty good. It had strong, solid characters; a well thought out plot, but the pacing was just off to me. There were times when the story dragged and times when the narration became, well, tedious. If I stacked this book up against some of my favorite romance books, it would pale in comparison. It's, well, easily forgettable.
Very Interesting; Wonderful Secondary Characters.......2005-10-30
I have not read Marsha Canham for years. I enjoyed her "Robin Hood" type series a while back but recently had shied away from medievals. (Just got tired of the dark tales and wanted lighter Regency fare!) I won't re-tell the plot. Other reviewers have done that well.
I would not have missed reading this but it was not an emotional book and did not touch my heart. The reasons I liked it were due to the interesting topics of Knights Templar, Crusade, virgin hero, and the unique secondary characters. The heroine, Ami aka Elizabeth, had a compelling personality and sad history but there was nothing in her persona that made me understand why Ciaran was so enamored of her? I enjoyed the interaction but just wasn't quite getting it!
This book does have a lot of graphic violence and sets the mood for a rather dark tale. I am not sure how all the dynamics of excommunication, etc... really worked and the devotion of Ciaran's followers was never really explained. He was a rather sad character (drunk, isolated) by the time Ami meets him that I was unsure what garnered that devotion. His struggles against his lust/love for Ami made for interesting reading.
The quest to save the king and additional information on the king's lover was somewhat out of the ordinary. I thought the (two) villains were defeated rather easily in the end. I wished that Ami had gotten to get revenge herself but her husband never knew the part she played in his defeat. I felt she needed (and deserved) that closure.
I highly recommend this fascinating book because despite its inconsistencies and lack of a truly gripping romance, I liked it! I have some other Canham's languishing on my reading shelf that I need to take a look at.
sorry, not nearly one of Canham's best.......2004-11-28
I'm sorry I can't love Marsha Canham's last novel. I barely like it. I had read the reviews when it was first released and had hoped that I would agree with the better ones. Alas and alack the mention of the slow middle, the weak heroine, weak romance, the disjointed plot and the problems with the hero's retainers mirrored mine own. Certes, methinks mine grade maybe slightly lower.
Brief plot: Amaranth is fleeing from her second abusive husband and takes refuge in a village on the land of excommuncant Templar knight Ciaran Tamberlane who saves her from the killers sent by her husband. He takes her back to his remote castle, learns her history, meets her loutish evil husband and vows to deliver her to the
convent of her choice to escape. Then some derring-do is thrown in at the end
about King Richard returning from his captivity after the Third Crusade.
I have some major questions about things that happen in this book. I might
be reading it wrong or be totally off base in my understanding but...a) if
Ciaran is a Templar, wouldn't he be a monk and therefore unable to marry?
Or does the fact that he was excommunicated release him from his vows?
And if he's excommunicated, wouldn't that mean that no Christian could
aid, abet or have anything to do with him? Especially marry him?
And why would Father Michaelus at the Abbey turn to Ciaran for
help in getting King Richard home? A man of God asking for help
from a man cast out of the Church?
b) peasants can't count? What? They have fingers, they have toes.
c) how did Amie manage to blend in with the few retainers and serfs that
Ciaran has at Tanier? If gossip spreads so quickly that it's known
throughout the castle immediately, is everyone suddenly blind to the
new turnspit boy? No mention is made of intense devotion to Ciaran
as their liege lord. But if they are so devoted, why would anyone be
afraid of betrayal caused by the large reward offered by Odo for word
of his wife? And how does Odo's left behind servant manage to remain
unremarked upon for a day?
d) the two knights traveling with Ciaran and Amie to the convent are lords?
Wouldn't they be Sir Boethius and Sir Geoffrey?
I was disappointed that suddenly a minor villain from the prologue gets
resurrected for the last battle. It seemed tacked on and unnecessary.
And would he have been left a beggar by the Temple?
I was much, much more interested in Marak. I knew he couldn't be the hero
(after all as one reviewer mentioned, it's the guy with the castle who is
always the hero) but he was much more intriguing and different a character
than Ciaran. I thought he and his love Inaya were wasted here. Either
forget the quickie romance of their's or flesh it out.
I'm afraid that by the time I started skimming the last third of the book, I
was pouncing on all the problems I had with the plot and characters. A
few things I could have breezed over or ignored in return for a tighter plot
and more interesting romance but in the end, there were just too many for
me. A shame since this is supposed to be Canham's last book.
Intelligent Historical Romance!.......2004-11-15
What is it about the Templar Knights that mystify us as readers of the historical romance genre? Is it that they are monks, or that they have taken a vow of celibacy? Perhaps it is that they are religious warriors that have taken up the sword for a cause. Whatever the reason for our great interest, author Marsha Canham takes us directly into the heart of this fascination with Templar Knight, Ciaran Tamberlane. Ciaran becomes disillusioned during his journey into the Holy Land, as innocent lives are slaughtered before him and everything he believes to be true about the Templar Knights is carelessly tossed aside by the heartless and merciless Knights he fights with. He can no longer watch the brutal killings and follows his own heart abandoning his sword and retreating into self-imposed exile back to England. As a reader, you can decide what you find so interesting about this sort of character. It definitely taps into our interest of the mysteryious Templar Knights as historical romance readers.
Amaranth de Langois (Amie), has been married before to an old and abusive man, and upon being sold again to the highest marriage bidder, this time to the brutal Lord Odo, she has reached her limit of abuse and has decided to fight back by attempting to kill him. Amie, fleeing her vengeful husband, finds herself on Ciaran's land. Brutally attacked and wounded she is brought back to his castle and is cared for by Marak, a healer who nurtures her back to health.
As these two tormented characters come together (Ciaran and Amie), their attraction is almost tangible. Author Marsha Canham builds up this story through excellent character development, not just with the central hero and heroine, but also with the secondary characters. This adds a dimension not often seen in historical romances where usually the focal point is on the hero and heroine.
If you like intelligent historical romance that are filled with passion, action, and interesting characters then MY FOREVER LOVE is the book for you.

Marsha Canham Has A New Fan!!!.......2004-08-29
First of all, the cover of this book is among my favorites. I love how only half of the knight's face is shown, leaving the rest to the reader's imagination. The castle in the background was yet another nice touch. Now on to the story...
I did not find the violence in this story to be one bit offensive. In fact, it only added to the realism in this tale. Some authors get right into the story surrounding the hero and heroine, whereas Ms. Canham treats you to much more than that. Instead of merely stating that the hero engages in battle, you are taken onto the battlefield with him - the descriptions leaving little to the imagination - BREATHTAKINGLY REAL - the descriptions put you in a mind frame of watching a movie rather than reading a book.
I really enjoyed the story of Ciaran Tamberlane, a man who had lost faith in his God and almost in himself and Amaranth de Langois, the hunted bride of an abusive husband. I fell in love with Ciaran from the moment he was introducd - quiet, yet commanding...the physical description given of him by the author was enough to make me weak in the knees. Black hair, green eyes, tall and muscular....YUM!!!
Amaranth was most certainly courageous in her attempts to escape yet another abusive marriage.
The only thing that prevented me from giving this story a five-star rating was that by the time Tamberlane and Amaranth got around to declaring their love for one another...the book was ending. It's like I was so caught up in the story of how he came to be a excommunicated knight and she a woman on the run and then there was Marak, of course...that by the time the two confessed their feelings for one another, I was like, "Okay, now their story begins." But it doesn't. Don't get me wrong - the love scenes, though few, were wonderful and the attaction between the two was quite obvious from start but I just wanted more!!! *whine However, this doesn't disuade me from ordering every title by Marsha Canham from Amazon.com tonight. *laugh
All in all, this was one of THE BEST medieval stories I've read in quite awhile. Enjoy!

This is a compilation of poignant excerpts from 760 letters written by a soldier during World War II to his wife and newborn son. They cover 34 months from his being drafted to being bound for Europe.
Customer Reviews:
Delightful!.......2007-03-08
Real life letters from a soldier to his beloved wife and son during World War II, written by two of that soldier's sons. The love and longing are palpable in Lloyd's letters to Irma and David. So many of the humorous, serious and mundane events of a WWII soldiers life are here, along with a look at the war itself and the friendships it created. The book was written with as much love as the original letters.
I couldn't put the book down!.......2002-07-12
I highly recommend this read to anyone interested in WWII or anyone who has experienced it. I'm 32, and I learned a lot about the war that our grandparents didn't like to talk about. The letters that Mr. and Mrs. Lane left behind are true treasures. It was like the letters were being wrote to me. Very romantic, emotional, sad at parts and happy at most. I don't think I've ever read a book so fast, just so I could find out what was happening next. You'll laugh, cry, and WON'T be abole to put it down. This makes a great gift for anyone. I bought one for my grandmother, and she loves it! My grandfather was in the war, and I know she can really relate to it. ENJOY!!

Product Description
I BELIEVE DIVINE INTERVENTION HELPED SAVE MY LIFE. Other people may call it being lucky, beating the odds, or a twist of fate. But there was one day in my life, one dramatic moment that determined whether I would live or die. The intervention came so dramatically I thought that what happened must have been from God. Amazingly, it was not a doctor who rescued me from death. Instead, God sent the most famous Wall Street financier and philanthropist at the time, who met with presidents of the United States. His name was Bernard M. Baruch. Now that I'm in my seventies, I have the luxury of looking back and trying to understand why God gave me a long life, what I like to call the mystery of life, with a little intervention from Mr. Baruch.
Why did God let me live? That is an interesting question only because I never became as wealthy or famous Mr. Baruch.

A Must.......2001-09-13
Even though this book was written at least 20 years ago I find it very appropriate for today. It is easy to understand and I believe should be a must read for premarital counseling. If this book were a requirement in entrance level psychology classes and any classes aimed at preparation for marriage it may help young men and women to get a better start in their married life.
What Husbands Should Know About Their Wives!!.......2001-03-22
Essentially, the title of this review says it all. And although this book was first printed about 20 years ago, the very reasons it became a best-seller then are the same reasons it would undoubtedly become a best-seller again, if reprinted! Simply put, it provides husbands with invaluable insight about the needs of their wives. It's written by a Christian woman who also talks about how her loving husband treated her.
My oldest sister was so impressed by this book that she's buying a hardcover version for her 3 college-aged sons to read from.
A man from Austin, Texas said "Reading this book 20 years ago... convinced me at 16 that happy marriages do exist...and it made one woman in my life extremely happy! It is the best book on marriage I've ever read...and I've nearly completed my PhD in psychology--better than any textbook!"
A very easy to read, enjoyable, and educational book!

Lorrie Morgan's life might have been lifted from one of the country songs for which she is famous. "I was in love with his voice before I saw his face," this love story opens. (If you don't know who Lorrie Morgan is, by the second page she lets us get our Nashville bearings: "I was no novice. Twenty-seven years old, I had been singing in this town literally half my life. I was George Morgan's daughter.") She falls in love with talented country singer Keith Whitley, who, in turn, falls in love with the bottle; it's marriage on the rocks, as Keith descends into alcoholism. In the process of extracting and wearing her heart on her sequined sleeve, Lorrie Morgan tells about life with father, growing up under the charms of the Grand Ole Opry, country countenances beheld along the way, and, of course, that rocky road: love, betrayal, and untimely death.

Read by Lorrie Morgan
* Includes 'Til a Tear Becomes a Rose, performed by Lorrie Morgan and Keith Whitley
By turns passionate and desperate, tragic and triumphant--the life of Lorrie Morgan could easily have been lifted from the lyrics of a classic country song. Now, in
Forever Yours, Faithfully, Lorrie, in her own voice, shares all the pleasure and the pain of her remarkable career and her turbulent, consuming love for doomed, brilliant blue-grass star, Keith Whitely.
Lorrie Morgan was born to be a country music star. Thanks to a father who was also a Grand Ole Opry legend, Lorrie grew up in the shadows of such country greats as Minnie Pearl and Roy Acuff. Inspired by such talent and nurtured in a stable home, she sang at the Opry when she was only thirteen years old. In a voice all her own, Lorrie takes us inside the country music world where she would rise to become Nashville gold.
Over the next several years, Lorrie's home life was to become a lot less stable. When Lorrie was twenty-two years old, she heard a voice on the radio--and fell under its seductive spell. That voice belonged to singer Keith Whitely. They soon met, left their respective marriages, and started a life that Lorrie hoped would be "happily ever after." Yet it was a relationship marred by dark moods, drinking, and drugs, as Lorrie, blinded by devotion, refused to see that she was hopelessly in love with a chronic alcoholic. She stayed by his side until his untimely death in 1989--only to be hit with a second blow: the shocking news of Keith's infidelities.
With amazing insight and candor, Lorrie opens her heart, answering such personal questions as: Who was with Keith when he died? What actually killed him? How does one reconcile the "man of your dreams" with the man in real life? And perhaps most important: Can he be forgiven? Fortunately, Lorrie's life did not end after Keith's death. Her star went on to shine even brighter. She rose to superstar status as a singer and, eventually, true love came calling again.
Beloved, betrayed, and ultimately resilient, Lorrie Morgan has written a painfully honest memoir about rising above and moving on. Forever Yours, Faithfully resonates with emotion and the power of the human spirit.

POORLY WRITTEN.......2006-01-24
This is the first book I've ever reviewed on Amazon but felt the need to express my opinion since I read other peoples before buying.
This book is very poorly written, almost like teenager diary entries. It is poorly worded and I agree with other reviewers, some things are meant to be kept private.
Maybe Lorrie needed to tell her story & maybe this was her therapy because she needed to heal BUT don't spend money buying it! She reads the audio book herself, but again very disappointing!
I am an avid Keith Whitley fan and have listened to Lorrie a lot as well, but it is rather one-sided and immature.
this is a great book in someways.......2005-04-02
this is a good book to read but wasnt wrote that great' i dont think it was... keith whitley is my favorite singer. and i like some of lorries stuff aswell.. but i feel there is some stuff that should remain private even if you are famous... doesnt matter... but then i guess like the saying goes to each his own... now i know its hard to go through things she went through. but its a he did this- she did that kinda deal and no one is perfect...kellysherman
Boring story of Lorries bloated ego.......2004-05-13
I'm an avid reader and I have to say this is the most poorly written book I have ever read. Specifically the writing style was disjointed, uneven and childish. If you manage to continue reading through lorries choppy, confusing writing you will find that Lorrie portrays Keith as a drunken, cheating porn-addicted hillbilly. She always paints herself as the perfect loving, caring wife. I find it interesting that this person who would have the reader believe that the failing marriage was totally Keiths fault is currently working on her 5th failed marriage.
This is one of those books that you wish you could give 0 stars to. I say this not because I'm a huge whitley fan, but because the writing is sloppy, forced and ridiculously insincere. I bought the book hoping to get some insights about the late country music star. Instead I got some sort of public relations attempt by Lorrie Morgan.
A Love Story.......2003-05-02
I found this book interesting. I found it unique as an autobiography, as I've never read one quite like it. Usually when I read these, they are filled with scandals and controversy. Sure there is a bit of that in here, but Lorrie Morgan writes this from her heart it seems. Of course you can't believe everything, authors of autobiographies want to write the book from their perspective and present in the best light, whatever way they want to. Lorrie chose to write this book about her great love with Keith Whitley, a fine country singer that was gone too soon. She recalls their relationship, which in fact when you read about it, seems much longer than it really was, which was 3 years. When she met him he was married, so she thought "hands off" but soon enough he was divorced and they were together. Their love story is sweet in the beginning, however later in the book it becomes more and more complex and confusing, as to why she'd stay with him. Keith Whitley was an alcoholic. She says she was so in love with him and that it wasn't as bad as it sounds, that there was still some great moments. She goes into great detail about his drinking binges, visits to the porn stores, his treatments, his career versus hers, and more. The events surrounding his death were complicated, as her career was just taking off and she was required to do some promotional work, and Keith ended up having an affair, and overdosing on alcohol, and ultimately dying. As well she talks candidly about growing up and finding herself. You call tell this love was very real and she very much loved him, but was love enough for this couple? Overall it's a slow starter but worth the effort to read, especially if you are a fan of Lorrie's.
Great to read & listen to........2000-05-19
I first read the book myself, which I couldn't put down, then I listened to the audio book. I have to admit the cassette put chills down my spine at times, with Lorrie talking about her Father's funeral, the Opry, car accidents & Keith's death. She did a womderful job letting out her emotions & telling the life of Keith. I hope she has many more wonderful years in Country Music. She belongs on country radio more than most of the new artists.
