Heere we go again..........2007-01-14
Another book fawning all over Toyota and the Japanese as being the absolute masters of production. No one but them can possibly produce anything properly. Oh, wait, did this book mention that it was AMERICANS who showed the Japanese modern production methods immediately after WWII? By golly, they left out that little detail.. you probably don't hear that too much, but look it up if you don't believe me. For all of the 1950's and most of the 1960's, "Made in Japan" was not a good thing to see on a product. Only in the past 30 years have they gotten good. I won't deny that American companies have gotten sloppy, and they need a cold hard slap to wake them up. But, I think that some of these books go a little overboard heaping praise on Japanese methods.
Best Primer on Lean Manufacturing.......2007-01-14
This easy to read book outlines all the concepts of lean manufacturing in an entertaining and understandable manner. I make it required reading for all my Manufacturing Engineers, Department Managers and Supervisors.
Keep It Simple Stupid.......2007-01-12
Many books on lean manufacturing today try to over complicate things by adding in a lot of jargon and so called smarts. This book doesn't do that, and the the beauty is the reader really gets to the heart and soul of lean manufacturing with being bogged down by some academic trying to tell you how smart he is about it.
Joe's gets all the major points of the Toyota manufcaturing, and the way it puts in context makes it clear and easy to understand.
Useful book.......2007-01-05
This is a really simple, easy to read book for people who want to know things about manufacturing.
Simplistic but True.......2006-05-07
This book is simplistic in its approach, but it illustrates very well our society's tendency to overcomplicate processes to the point the original objective becomes almost unattainable.
Book Description
Fifteen years ago, Robert Fulghum published a simple credo—a credo that became the phenomenal #1 New York Times bestseller All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. Now, seven million copies later, Fulghum returns to the book that was embraced around the world. He has written a new preface and twenty-five essays, which add even more potency to a common, though no less relevant, piece of wisdom: that the most basic aspects of life bear its most important opportunities.
Here Fulghum engages us with musings on life, death, love, pain, joy, sorrow, and the best chicken-fried steak in the continental U.S.A. The little seed in the Styrofoam cup offers a reminder about our own mortality and the delicate nature of life . . . a spider who catches (and loses) a full-grown woman in its web one fine morning teaches us about surviving catastrophe . . . the love story of Jean-Francois Pilatre and his hot air balloon reminds us to be brave and unafraid to “fly” . . . life lessons hidden in the laundry pile . . . magical qualities found in a box of crayons . . . hide-and-seek vs. sardines—and how these games relate to the nature of God. All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten is brimming with the very stuff of life and the significance found in the smallest details.
In the years that have passed since the first publication of this book that touched so many with its simple, profound wisdom, Robert Fulghum has had some time to ponder, to reevaluate, and to reconsider. And here are those fresh thoughts on classic topics, right alongside the wonderful new essays.
Perhaps in today’s chaotic, more challenging world, these essays on life will resonate even deeper—as readers discover how universal insights can be found in ordinary events.

simple truths.......2007-08-26
Fulghum is an honest and simple portrayer of the human condition. As a teacher, his insights are really useful. A new book, Tales of the Dolly Llama, gives an account of teaching that is just as funny and touching, but with greater analysis of the school system that so dictates our lives. I heartily recommend both.
The title says it all.......2007-08-20
This is a wonderful little easy-to-read book that covers the basic philosophy of day-to-day life from a simple, everyman inner-child standpoint. The author muses freely about making time to play, how to keep one's sense of wonder, how to share with others, cleaning up after oneself, how to take responsibility for all the little things in life, how to earn and give trust, how to be a good friend, etc. It's a very emotionally refreshing book, and I'm long overdue for a re-read ... especially having lost both of my parents in recent years.
One of life's big hurdles is maintaining one's sense of fun & wonder, despite the inevitable ravages of time, and the jaundiced hindsight of experience. Books like this offer a precious opportunity to rejuvenate one's spirit, and sense of fun and adventure.
Such opportunities become more and more precious, as time goes by, so always remember to lean out wide and try to seize them whenever they present themselves ... as you ride the great carousel of life.

Wonderfully funny, honest look at the world. I read this book years ago but still still return to the books simple wisdom, especially as I grow older. If I could only own one Robert Fulghum book THIS would be it.
Book Description
In America today college professors cringe at the lack of writing skills displayed by their students, business leaders bemoan poor communicative skills among their employees, and people themselves recognize that they (and their children) have a problem and want to do something about it.
This inviting book introduces readers anew to the eight parts of speech and common grammatical problems -- such as the case of pronouns depicted in the book's title, the tension between nouns and verbs, the controversy of the active vs. passive voice, and the power of a verb-based style. Then equipped with a knowledge of the parts of speech and the power of the verb form, Good presents his theory of style and the craft of sentences -- including those important marks of punctuation.

Excellent.......2007-09-10
The title alone will sell you. I must hear people misusing "I and me" 100 times a week. I wish I'd had this book in high school. It lays out usage in a clear and understandable manner and doesn't bog you down with information that you don't care about.
Terrific reference book for non-English majors.
Yes, Buy This Book!!!.......2007-07-08
The fact that you are reading this review indicates that you are interested in grammar. That means you should buy this book, as it is certainly one of the better books on this topic. What I especially like is that it does not treat you as a grammarian and it reviews many basics of sentence structure - and it is an enjoyable read. Yes, you still should have a copy of "The Elements of Style" by Strunk and White if you're serious about good writing, but this book is a clear, single source, winner to me. I write articles, books and websites. I routinely seek good reference advice. That includes this book.
A Good Introduction to Grammar.......2007-05-13
Mr. Good laments the fact that grammar is no longer taught in schools and he has taken the effort to introduce novices to it in a fun way. I am truly enjoying his book and I am learning much along the way! Thank you, Mr. Good!
Finally - a grammar book written for the rest of us!.......2007-04-11
I am always trying to ensure my grammar is correct (a habit I picked up from my father.) I've not been able to find a book that explains common grammar problems in a way I would remember. This one is easy to use and I will always keep it with my dictionary and other reference books.
Our Most Important Subject.......2006-08-28
This is an excellent book for learning or renewing our knowledge of English Grammar. There is a conspiracy in this country to dumb down the attendees of public schools, and it began in the early part of the last century with some wealthy industrialists and government officials. Leaving Children behind began before Bush and he is a prime example of it. Let's all fight back by speaking English properly, as well as reading and writing excellently. This book is a good place to start! Then, on to Phonics!

Guidance for Your Journey
Sometimes, God’s Word is like candlelight that warms and comforts. Other times, it is a red flashing light that protects. Often, it’s a spotlight that exposes your need. And since you are called to walk by faith, you need light—in all its various forms—guiding your steps. Jennifer Rothschild ’s path, darkened by physical blindness, is illuminated by scriptural truth. And now she shares the keys to persevering and “clinging to the Sword” no matter what your circumstances. Lessons I Learned in the Light is a powerful collection of Scripture, intriguing autobiographical sketches, and pointed Bible study with personal, practical application questions that will encourage you every step of the way.
“Your word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105
Have you known darkness? Are you there even now? There is a ray of hope that brings clarity and guidance: God’s Word—the Light that is better than life. And it wields the power to see you through absolutely anything.
Jennifer Rothschild , in her physical blindness, found the secret to persevering with endurance and shares it candidly. No matter what you face today, Lessons I Learned in the Light will help you: cling to His Word carry no baggage pray like crazy be God-conscious enjoy the fish bowl
No matter how dark the road, you can travel it courageously, secure in the Light. “For these commands and this teaching are a lamp to light the way ahead of you” (Proverbs 6:23 , NLT).
“Jennifer Rothschild is a sincere and transparent example of what it means to press toward the goal—to live a thriving, courageous life in Christ.”
Sara Groves
Singer/songwriter
“Like the Renaissance artists of old, Jennifer Rothschild sees with her heart. Through self-discipline, acute observation, and Christ centeredness, the tapestry of her life has been woven together by an unshakeable faith.”
Luci Swindoll
Author and speaker, Women of Faith
“Her gentle, pleasing style first draws readers in and captures their imaginations. Only then does she deliver her more powerful punches."
Publishers Weekly
Story Behind the Book
“I don’t have the privilege of reading God’s Word in the traditional sense, but I still rely on it as my source of power—power to persevere and thrive in a world of darkness. Without it, I would have quit a long time ago. Proverbs 6:23 says ‘These commands and this teaching are a lamp to light the way ahead of you’ (NLT). While Lessons I Learned in the Dark provided principles for walking by faith, Lessons I Learned in the Light offers fuel for running with endurance.”

Jennifer Rothschild is such an inspiration to many people, and I am one of those people. She is an author, musician, and in full time ministry. In this book she shares lessons that she learned, that we can also learn and benefit from. The amazing thing about the title is that she is blind, so the only light that she sees is God's light.
In starting out she uses God's word to show that he truly is the light. 1John 1:5 says that "God is Light" and Psalms 119:105 "lamp unto my feet, and a light to my path". God truly is light and she shows this in the twelve chapters of her book.
We need to cling to God's word, for it is our Sword of Honor. Scripture tells the story of Eleazar, and how he clung to his sword in the battle, and when it was over he could not let it go (2 Samuel 23:9-10). The Bible is something that we can hold on to today and use it in our battle field. To do this we need to spend time every day in it. When we don't it is an issue of pride. It is like we are telling God that we don't need him. We all have many excuses, but none of them are good enough. We are to cling to the word and use it and to do that we must know it; and to know it we must be read it and study it everyday.
Sometimes we are reluctant. The author says "Most of us feel a tinge of reluctance when it comes to change, because it means we must take a risk and release some of our control." What we need to do is release and trust Jesus. "It is no risk to trust the One who is totally trustworthy." Isaiah 26:4. You may not have the confidence to face the change, but God can give us courage. Confidence is a feeling, and courage is an action. There are three gifts of courage: Power, Love, and Self-Discipline.
Walking by faith and not having any baggage is another way that the author teaches you how to live. There are two tools to get rid of sin: The law (Romans 3:20 and 5:13), and Repentance (John 1:9). God gives us his grace so that we can live with him. His grace is offered because he is good. We are also required to be meek, and that means to "...recognize our own personal power and willingly submit to the authority of another." Meekness is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22).
Next she shows us how the Bible tells us to pray without ceasing, or in her words "pray like crazy". So even if you do not believe that you can pray, pray anyway. Pray like you would like to be able to pray. It doesn't have to be showy or flashy, God knows what you are trying to express and say. "Just do it." (Nike).
God's word is alive and it gives us hope, cling to this hope. One way to do this is don't be self-conscious, be God-conscious. See yourself in the mirror that is God's word. Words of warning though, you maybe the only God that anyone ever sees, so you need to know him so you can reflect him. Beware though of three places that you might get caught up and those are: pride, performance, and problems. Let God shine through you it is about God not you.
Lastly Mrs. Rothschild reminds us that we are to live like aliens here on earth. This is not our home; it is a staging area, preparing us form home. Heaven is our ultimate home and we need to keep our eyes on that.
This book is an enlightening experience. The author has some new ideas on things that I had never thought of, and it was nice to see things from a different point of view. I am going to take what I learned, and apply it to the many other lessons that God is teaching me every day.
Wonderful & Inspiring.......2007-05-02
Jennifer has done it again.
Lessons I Learned in the Dark was such an inspiration to me that I couldn't imagine being more blessed by Lessons I Learned in the Light but I was.
GOD is using this wonderful woman to give hope and inspiration to so many.
Very uplifting and inspiring.......2007-05-01
This book was an inspiration and very inspiring to those of us who think our world with sight is difficult. She is an inspiration to every woman.

Wisdom for All of Us.......2007-01-30
A delightful exploration of what humans can learn from animals. The illustrations are spare and charming, the text amusing, compelling and true. I would recommend it as a gift for teenaged girls, and cat lovers of all ages.
You will recognize your cat in these captions.......2006-10-17
My family has a cat (Sassy) that is approximately one year old. She is currently in the transition stage from being an energetic kitten interested in everything to a tamer version that is more content. When reading this book I recognized Sassy on every page. Each page contains an illustration with caption that also relates to our human traits of trying to get through the trials of life. My favorite was the page that showed a human bathroom with things strewn everywhere with the caption, "Get someone else to clean your bathroom." Funny and entertaining, this book will strike the truth bone of every person who owns or has owned a cat.
Cute cat stuff.......2006-01-01
Cat lovers know that you can learn many valuable life lessons from the feline(s) that allow us to share their living space with them. Suzy Becker's cute, sweet and simple book only proves it. Any cat lover/owner will love having it.
Cute.......2005-10-02
A sweet and sharp little book to have if you own cats and you are observant of their personalities. I'm happy I bought it
For any cat lover.......2004-05-12
For any cat lover out there, this is a delightful little comic book. Every page has a little piece of advice (like: "Help put away groceries") and then has an adorable sketch of a white cat illustrating the point (crawling into the paper bag for a nap).

One of my all-time favorite books..........2004-07-08
ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN
by Robert Fulghum is a collection of essays that reflect the author's thoughts on life, death and a whole lot of other subjects in-between.
So when I saw the 15th Anniversary Edition I naturally had to get hold of and then devour it . . . and am glad I did . . . it's GREAT!
It is also quite different . . . or as the subtitle indicates, it is "reconsidered, revised, and expanded with 25 new essays."
I liked all the new entries, but also got a kick out of revisiting the old ones . . . it was like being with friends I haven't seen before.
Fulghum is that kind of author . . . once you read him, you'll
want to get everything else he has written: IT WAS ON FIRE
WHEN I LAY DOWN ON IT, UH-OH and MAYBE (MAYBE
NOT) . . . you won't be disappointed in any of these, nor with
his latest work either.
There were several memorable passages in the 15th Edition that
I had not come across before; among them:
* "And so then what happened?"
An urgent question out of the bedtime darkness, asked by my children, when they and I were young. Just when I thought I had slam-dunked a story-ending-just when I was certain the children were safely in the arms of the sandman--a small, sleepy voice would plead, "So, then what happened?" And no matter what I replied, the plea went on, "Please, please, Daddy--tell the rest of the story."
In cranky desperation, I would resort to apocalypse: "Suddenly a
comet hit the earth and blew everything to pieces."
Silence. "What happened to the pieces?"
"It doesn't matter. Everybody died a horrible death, especially
all the little children who were not asleep." I also tried, "The father sold all the children who would not go to sleep to a passing gypsy who ground them into sausage meat. The first children to be ground up were those who would not stop asking questions."
Go ahead, shame me. But it worked. Most of the time. On reflection, I suspect such gory endings were what they really liked most. Perhaps it was a scheme to see just how far I would go--to see how crazed their father really was.
Now I am dealing with grandchildren who have the same restless
minds. I am wilier now than I used to be. To the inevitable request for more, I reply, "Only your father knows the rest of the story. Ask him to finish it when you get home."
* Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret
weapon. A happiness weapon. A Beauty Bomb. And every time a
crisis developed, we would launch one first--before we tried
anything else. It would explode high in the air--explode softly--and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth--boxes of Crayolas. And we shouldn't go cheap either--not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the word with imagination instead
of death. A child who touched one wouldn't have his hand blown off.
* I recall an old Sufi story of a good man who was granted one
wish by God. The man said he would like to go about doing good
without knowing about it. God granted his wish. And then God
decided that it was such a good idea, he would grant that wish to
all human beings.
And so it has been to this day.

Book Description
Karen Salmansohn knows that men are just larger, hairier boys, with more expensive toys. Author of How to Make Your Man Behave in 21 Days or Less, Using the Secrets of Professional Dog Trainers and Even God Is Single, she now shows women how to gain the upper hand in any relationship.
Illustrated with glee by Gary Baseman, I Don't Need to Have Children, I Date Them is essential humor for contemporary women. First, it proves the similarity between big boys and little boys. Consider: Both share a major breast fixation. Both have trouble dressing themselves. Both think The Three Stooges are funny. And both love to be told, You are . . . soooo big! But this is a reason to celebrate, not fret; once you master a little child psychology, you can fix any boo-boos in your relationship. It's all a matter of nifty tricks, like Food and rest can solve most problems and Never ask questions your boy can reject.
Because boys will be boys. Even when they're grown men.

Hilarious book with some good insights.......2003-08-30
Some guys might be offended by this book, but if you're a woman, you could pick up a few tips in dealing with your significant other. Despite the title and pictures, and the fact that it looks like a children's book, the book does offer some valid insights into the male animal. I have a couple of other books by Karen Salmansohn and really appreciate her sense of humor.
Fun for Psych Majors !!.......2003-01-20
Well, I was a psych major in college, and now a single working woman in a big city. I laughed (better than crying) my way through the "23 Child Psychology Techniques to Use on Boys of All Ages." I used to do babysitting during college, but I've had enough of that. Very entertaining and real, this book.

OK, the negative reviews should convince you to get this book -- obviously Salmansohn's humorous insights are really perceptive because she is hitting some of the big targets in the male-dominated American culture. And some of the targets are complaining ... both men and male-identified, patriarchy-serving women. A key point of feminist analysis is that anti-women sexism is so deeply rooted in American culture that is has been internalized as a value by most men and many women while they were growing up. Absurd, exaggerated, counter-stereotypical humor is a great tool for excavating these unconscious cultural assumptions. And it is fun !! So don't miss the point of the author's humor. And don't miss her latest, How to Change Your Entire Life By Doing Absolutely Nothing. Salmansohn's humor and insight are national treasures. Every culture needs its critics if it is going to change, improve, and flourish.
A stupid book.......2002-04-18
...After reading it I became physically ill from the incessant anti-male ...[feel] throughout the book! ...
Another book to throw into the fireplace.............2002-04-15
I dont care what excrement this woman writes I`ll never feel bad about being a man,but I`ll definitely always be relieved that I`m not a woman! I knew alot of ladies were filled with irrational and juvenile hatred of men,but I didnt realize to what extent! I mean what a waste of emotional energy.I guess I shouldnt hate the writers of or readers of books like this but pity them instead.I can tell you this much,"girls" are just as exasperating to we men! May god condemn Karen Salmansohns soul to the eternal flames of hell.

Customer Reviews:
Fantastic!.......2007-08-23
We tend to forget all the lessons we learned watching the original Star Trek series, and Dave Marinaccio brings it all back with a lot of humor.
This book is a must for any original Star Trek fan. You can read it in one sitting, and then your friends will all be borrowing it. You may want to buy an extra just in case.
what hasn't already been said........2007-07-01
as the tittle says, i cant really say anything that the other reviewers haven't said themselves.
all i can say is that at first i was expecting it to be kind of corny, like if you encounter an alien energy life form set your phaser to heat to destroy it or if you encounter a giant rock thing use cement to heal its wounds.
but it wasn't anything like that, it was good, very entertaining thoughts and ideas about the lessons learned from star trek and how they are related to the authors real life.
defiantly a must read for any star trek fan.
misrepresented drivel.......2006-11-02
This is an almost completely self-regarding book. It has almost nothing to say about Star Trek, which is merely a vehicle for the discussion of the true subject, which is the author. It is also not very amusing or interesting, and is in fact pretty much a waste of time. I threw mine out with contempt; should have sent it back and at least got a partial refund.
A Horrendously Stupid Book.......2005-10-31
I love Star Trek, OK? This should have been a really great book, since there are so many important lessons in the series. But Marinaccio completely misses many important lessons, in my opinion, and gets several other lessons mixed up, and generally dilutes whatever lessons remain to the point of vapidity with his self-indulgence and self-absorption. Sorry, Dave, but not everything in Star Trek relates to some insignificant detail of your small little life in a Marketing company.
Not to mention that the book stops short. "I think there's a new series called DS9 or something, I'll have to keep an eye on that." Seriously, he says that. To me, watching the later series greatly expanded the "lessons that needed to be learned".
I threw this book away in disgust after reading it. Really. Lierally threw it in the trash. It was that bad, and I didn't want to be embarrassed by having it sit on the shelf as my complete DVD collections of all the Star Trek TV series.
Please do NOT buy this book. It's really HORRIBLY STUPID!
Words of Wisdom from TV? Amazing!.......2004-11-13
This is a fun little book chock full of wise sayings gleaned from episodes of the original Star Trek. The original was not a space opera, it was a futurized series of life's lessons, very carefully crafted. Each episode had a heavy-duty message embedded within--and not very hard to spot either. This book does not necessarily include these thematic messages, but it does excerpt a number of pithy, humorous quotes from the characters. It is highly reminiscent of a poster my dentist has in his office of Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. I expect there is also a book with that name, but I haven't read it. These words of wisdom also remind me of Dr. Akin's famous "Laws of Spacecraft Design" which you can access on the internet. With his permission, I used several in my book "The Knowledge Management and Information Technology Encyclopedia" (published by the Government and not for sale). My favorite submits from Marinaccio's delightful book are:
Gossip is often confused with conversation. In fact it often takes the place of conversation. Take gossip away from some folks and they would turn into mimes. p.61
When everyone is responsible, ultimately no one is responsible. p.52
Idiot-proofing is also genius-proofing. p.94
Great people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things. Small people talk about people. p.61
Attitude is the top priority; after attitude, talent or gifts are important. p.64
As Yogi Berra, the great Yankees catcher, once said, "You can observe a lot, just by watching." p.23
A person who understands a rule knows when to break it. p.50
Competent people know which rules to follow and which to ignore ... when people of good judgement are allowed to exercise their insights, good results usually follow. When people=s hands are tied, they are ineffective. p.94
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play. pp. 8, 53, & 54
Difficult choices expose how we truly feel. What we believe deep inside. p.39
The most important time to help someone is when they need it. p.8
For man, Utopia is endless challenge. p.17

Book Description
Headstrong Casey Straton inherited her mother's beautiful eyes and her father's stubborn temperament. So when she is denied the responsibility of running her grandfather's ranch despite her unladylike prowess at roping, riding and shooting the high–spirited hellion storms away from her Texas home, determined to prove she can do much more than "woman's work."
Successful businessman Damian Rutledge III came West for vengeance. But though he possesses a powerful physique and unwavering courage, the handsome Eastern "dude" would have surely been lost in the wild west without the timely intervention of a half–pint bounty hunter called "Ed." There is more to this fearless gunslinger than first meets the eye, however. And when Damian discovers his rescuer is, in fact, a stunningly sensuous young lady named "Casey' in disguise, he realises dial there are going to be very serious complications on the rocky trail that is leading them both toward a dangerous, irrepressible love.
Johanna Lindsey's enchanting romantic adventure All I Need Is You is the sequel to her immensely popular A Heart So Wild. Lovely and tempestuous Casey Straton the headstrong child of Chandros Straton and Courtney Harte leaves her Texas home determined to prove to her parents that she can do more than "woman's work." Successful businessman Damien Rutledge III came west looking for vengeance. But though he is strong and fearless, the handsome Eastern "dude" would have surely been lost in the wild West were it not for the timely intervention of a half–pint bounty hunter called "Kid." but when Damien discovers his rescuer is, in fact, a stunningly sensuous young lady named Casey in disguise, he realises that there are going to be very serious complications on the rocky trail that is leading them both toward a dangerous, irrepressible love.
Customer Reviews:
Eh... nice story.......2005-09-11
Nice story... nothing breathtaking or amazing about it. I found Casey to be headstrong and spoiled... almost to the point of being a brat. She did improve near the end though and redeem herself a bit.
What can I say about Damian? It took a long time for him to grow on me. Its like his character didn't really develop into much until the middle of the book. He seemed almost weak to me... with not much personality. But as with Casey, he redeemed himself near the end of the story.
Their love story was sweet. They certainly didn't have the chemistry that Casey's parents had. And their developing relationship almost seemed secondary to their search for Damian's father's murderer.
Slow start to the story, picked up in the middle and then slowed down again near the end. There were a couple great scenes, one including some fun in the river, which helped keep my interest. Overall a good book, but certainly not one I would read over and over again.
What did you read?!.......2005-01-17
I love this book. I read it for the first time a while back, and it stayed with me enough to make me buy it. I loved "A Heart So Wild", and I think this was a fitting sequel. People are complaining about how Chandos wouldn't have let her go in the first place, but it seems to escape them that Chandos's daughter would have more than a small idea of what she wanted to do and the abilities to do it. Casey is very strong willed, but that's something most Lindsey readers expect. She can do anything a man can do, and that's something else I've come to expect. I love her stories because I can see myself in a lot of the heroines, and this one doesn't disappoint.
More Murder Mystery than Romance.......2004-09-25
"All I Need Is You" is alright for a Lindsey. It's not awful, but neither it is a page-turner. "All's" story is straightforward enough: Damian hires a bounty hunter to find his father's murderer only to fall for the bounty hunter, a girl named Casey who is determined to succeed at a man's job to prove to her her father that she can run a rannch. What the story lacks is passion. So much time is spent on discussing the murder and chasing the bad guy that the romance part comes up short. I didn't devour this book, like I did it's prequel, the marvelous "A Heart So Wild." I wish Casey & Damian of "All" had half the passion that Chandos & Courtney of "A Heart" had. I also wish the "bad situations" that Casey found herself in really seemed threatening, but both her showdown and kidnapping were predictable and not at all exciting. Big sigh. Worse was the tacked-on ending revolving around Damian's mother. Lindsey seems to love having belated parent-child reunions in her books ("Angel," "So Speaks the Heart," "Defy Not the Heart" to name a few). I'd recommend reading "A Heart So Wild" over reading "All I Need Is You." "A Heart" is a prime example of a REAL steamy, sexy Western romance, while "All" (with it's lack of charisma and excitement) is more a girl-oriented murder-mystery than romance.
The Greatest Need of All.......2003-11-11
This has got to be one of the most beautiful love stories that I have read in a long time. As an avid reader of romance novels for the past 30 years that is saying quite a mouthful, but do not just believe me, find out for yourself. This book is a must read for all historical romance lovers. It is a marvelous story that takes the reader across the vast plains of 1892 Texas following the trail of a suspected murderer. It is a tender love story with characters that are simply unforgettable. Casey Stratton needs to prove to her father Chandos that she is capable of doing any job that a man can do. To prove this she cuts her hair, puts on men's clothing, and runs away in the middle of the night to begin a career that only a man can do, become a successful bounty hunter. Damian Rutledge III came west with an important need of his own, to find the man that murdered his father. As green as they come he is totally lost until he runs across the campfire of a young boy who claims to be a bounty hunter and calls himself simply Kid. Who could be better than a professional bounty hunter to help him find a murderer? So with the remarkable tracking ability that Kid learned from his father, and not to mention even a faster draw, the chase begins. But Damian is not quite the tenderfoot that Kid believes him to be and KId is not exactly what Damian thought he was either. It does not take Damian long to discover that underneath Kid's dirty clothes is a very beautiful young woman, Casey Stratton. Ride along with these two unforgettable people as they discover for themselves the greatest need of all, that where love is concerned "All I Need is You."
Good sequel to 'A Heart So Wild'!!!.......2003-07-23
While I will admit to liking a Heart So Wild a little better than this one, I still found this book to be good. Not great, but good. Casey is kind of annoying, but, all in all I gave this book fours stars because I loved the storyline and Damien....need I say anything about this gorgeous hunk of man who can do anything!!!!! Read this book. You will like it, even if not as much as some of JL's other books.

Customer Reviews:
If I was a bard, this would be my bible!.......2003-05-20
A great edition for any true Xena fan. Read through the list of things Gabrielle has learned from her friend Xena as well as the ins and outs of living life on the road, (or the dirt track as they would say) A great read, full of good laughs and informative too.
pretty good.......2001-09-27
This was a real cute book..a must for any "hardcore nutball" Xena fan. I like the pictures and Renee O'Connor's small top ten list in the front was a big bonus...It was not a real introduction, but good nonetheless. I wouldn't spend a huge amount of money on it..but good for the price here.
Gabrielle's scrolls.............2000-01-19
Hmmmm, this book is quite good - but I believe that there are better ones out there. If you're a complete xena freak like me then, then you'll want to have it - it is amusing, especially as it is from gabby's point of view, and sometimes the author manages to nail it and you can hear gabby's voice saying the words. It's not for someone who doesn't know the programme too well. It often makes brief references to episodes and I'm not really sure how much sense it would make if you hadn't seen them. It is quite a short book, but you'll not want to put it down until you've read it. Don't buy this if you're looking for something really informative about the show. This book is a bit of fun and nothing more - like I said before - something for the die-hard fans rather than anyone else....
Gabrielle's life line story in one book!.......1999-07-29
If you want to learn everything about Gabrielle's life this is the book for you! Her stories and journeys with Xena will thrill and take you beyond the pages of her book. Every chapter has something new, and you learn many things about the way she lives with Xena, and Joxer too. Pick this book to learn more then even Xena knows about Gabrielle's life.
This book will not let any Xena fan put it down!.......1999-07-23
This book is a creative way of putting any xena fan on the journeys. It comes from Gabrielle's perspective of lessons, discoveries, friendship, and many things well taught, that she's learned on the journeys. As a Xena fan I recommend it. Though it's fairly short, It will keep you turning the pages all night long! Complete with a Introduction by Renee 'O Connor, I find it a very believable book.
