Book Description
Bedtime Erotica is a collection of eight explicit short stories that will leave a lasting impression. It starts off with a bang in Telephone Sex: raw, nasty and in-your-face but quickly shifts to the more subtly erotic Double The Trouble, a story of a woman desired equally by her boyfriend and his identical twin. Lexy constantly turns the heat up and down with each story, leaving the reader’s passions simmering until they finally get to Oxford Blue, a beautifully written tale of a mature woman’s seduction by her son’s friend that will make you question your morals. The characters are all different: from the young, shy, virginal to the sassy, sexy, downright outrageous, mature, older woman. They each take a pleasure-filled adventure to satisfy a sexual hunger that craves ultimate fulfilment.

Not what I expected.......2007-07-11
I was dissapointed with this. A little less 'in your face" raunch and a bit more erotica, please.
Refreshingly Real Erotica.......2007-06-02
This is great stuff. Hot stories that are just the right length and what makes it so appealing is that they are about different people from different walks of life and that is what makes it so refreshingly real and erotic. It makes for a more enjoyable read almost as if it is a different writer for each story. Lexy really takes us in to her world; it feels as though we are a fly on the wall watching the action, like reality TV in a book. More than just a voyeurs dream, it is an essential education in relationships. Learning about what men and women really want from each other and what they can give each other to emphasise their pleasure and take their love making to new heights of ecstasy is what it is all about.
I do like the love seat idea and it made me smile because in my minds eye I have made a mental love seat of my own, erotic minds must think alike. I must admit I do like the short story format as compared to the erotic novel and I have read a lot just lately, surprisingly this is my first Lexy Harper, but it won't be the last I'm sure.
I would highly recommend Bedtime Erotica. Another book I would recommend that you have a look at is 100 Percent Erotica by Suzie Van Aartman. Very erotic and very explicit, I had to change my underwear after reading it. Check it out. Both these books could well become all time classics in my opinion.
HOT.......2007-06-02
I bought this book and the authors other book, Bedtime Erotica (for freaks like me), at the same time. I read this one first and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a black, british woman ( I would imagine) writing the book so some of the slang and spelling is different but the book is hot none the less. I do like this one over the other a little bit. Just get both though. You won't be disappointed.
F-ing Brilliant!!!.......2007-05-28
I didn't think I could get into books like this. I read it. I love it. I want more of it.
Erotica At It's Best!.......2007-04-15
From the first story "Telephone Sex" to the last story "Oxford Blue" (both my favorites) Lexy Harper exposes the reader to eight erotic stories that are guaranteed to make your toes curl and much much more!
Written with finesse, these sexual adventures are stimulating, sensual, steamy, and sexy.
At the end of each tale Ms Harper gives us a little insight into what prompt her to write each story.
Right before the start of the first story Ms Harper has a one line dedication that hooked me immediately ... because I love a good f*****g
Story!!!
It was nice to finally read great work by an author from my home town of London England. We British gals are BOLD!!
NOTE:
This book is hot! For those who can't stand the heat...caution!!

It's A Hard Knock Life... .......2007-07-11
Ivy Lee Jones, a young single mother, is catching one bad break
after another. After losing everything, including custody of her
three small children, Ivy is faced with some tough decisions. Having
no one to turn to, she feels lost, alone and defeated.
After a chance meeting with Stormy Daniels, who appears to be the
answers to Ivy's problems, things seem to get better. But, Ivy soon
learns that things are not as they seem. Stormy is a big time drug
dealer who is well known in the streets of Memphis for his criminal
actions. Still Ivy agrees to move in with Stormy, but, he shows her
just how ruthless he really is as he places her life further into a
downward spiral.
Candy Cane's entrance into Ivy's life is not a coincidence. She's
Stormy's secret lover, and is being forced to be a part of Ivy's
life as well. There is more to Candy than meets the eye, as she soon
shows everyone she is not as sweet as people may think. Wanting to
rid herself of the turmoil her life has become, Ivy and Candy become
dangerous allies, a force not to be reckoned with. With both women
determined to take down anyone who gets in their way, one can only
wonder, who will survive.
Alisha Yvonne has penned a great fast-paced read, and she hooks you
from page one, not letting go until the end. Yvonne did an excellent
job developing realistic characters with real life situations. The
life lessons Ivy had to learn are sure to serve as a testament to
many young women today. NAUGHTY GIRLS is laced with loads of drama
and with the unexpected twists and turns, and several ups and downs,
I truly enjoyed the literary ride. Naughty Girls has surely made me
a fan of Ms. Yvonne's.

JUST OKAY.......2007-05-18
This book was not what I expected. Not a lot of drama both Ivy and Candy seem like they were not mental all there. I remember Candy from around the way girls 3 and did not like that at all. Sorry author needs to put a little more drama in her books.
The Storm is coming!.......2007-05-06
Naughty Girls was a really good read. I was not expecting it to be as good as it really was. Storm was a trip. I don't know who was worse between him and Hurricane(from Candy Licker). Overall I really enjoyed this book. I'm glad Ivy got her stuff together at the end. And I was in love with Jaabir! Ms. Yvonne definitely stepped her game up from her last novels. Keep it up, do ya thang mama!
Stepped up her game........2007-04-20
Ms.Yvonne stepped her game up on this book. I read her two other books and did not like them at all. This book was so much better. I think I will continue to give her chance. It was definitely worth the money.
Ol' Naughty, Naughty Girls.......2007-04-14
After losing her job, her car, and her kids, "Poison" Ivy Lee Jones is at her wit's end. With no family or friends to turn to, Ivy finds solace in the arms of the notorious Stormy Daniels. Candy Cane is busy tring to make a dollar outta fifteen cents but keeps coming up short. She hopes that Storm can provide her with the glamorous lifestyle that she so desparately craves. Both ladies soon discover that Stormy is not the caring, loving individual he pretends to be.
Journey into the lives of Ivy, Candy, and Stormy as they take you on a wild ride through the mean streets of Memphis. Alisha Yvonne delivers a tantalizing tale that is packed with action, drama, and steamy sex scenes. Job well done, Alisha, I look forward to reading your next novel.

Like her other titles, Laurie Notaro's An Idiot Girl's Christmas is a bon bon of a book--one that is so honestly observed that, if you are at work, you will find yourself sneaking in time to read it at your desk in the middle of the day, snorting with laughter. There are few writers who can nail the particular humiliation of, say, buying a box of tampons in a crowded store while a small cadre of punks makes unfortunate jokes behind you. Or who can let loose the funny fury of wrong-headed Christmas gifts, such as her mother's peculiar affinity for food-scented candles:
Always on my list is a scrumptious delicacy from my mother's favorite Wax Candle Baked Goods store. I don't know where my mother found a wax store that specializes in baked-goods and pastry candles, but she did. Good job Mom!
It's the perfect diet food, because biting into one is like biting into Jennifer Lopez's double-decker ass at Madam Tussaud's, kind of like sinking your teeth into a thick, dense bar of Irish Spring--without the flavor.
With some new and some best-of material (the venerable Jingle Bell piece about a Barney-obsessed neighbor is here), this volume covers many a family holiday at the Notaro household, with an amusing assortment of ill-adjusted siblings, in-laws, and that grand dame of dysfunction and buzz kill, Notaro's mother. Or at least the ever-so-lightly fictionalized version of Notaro's mother, who plays the foil to Notaro's perpetually underfunded, tortured, and sweetly Machiavellian self. The palpable and universal mother-daughter tension in their relationship is best mined in the chapter, "Oh Holy Night," or "The Year I Ruined Christmas," in which the n'er do well's daughter purse is lost, found, and returned home with a tire track across it and without Notaro herself:
"I was dead?" I asked my mother eagerly, trying hard to fight the urge to jump up and down in glee. "Oh my God. I can't believe it. This is fantastic. Did you cry?"
"Well, almost," my mother confessed. "But then again there was the relief of getting the second use out of your prom dress."
In the end, wit and clever revenge on dull party guests trump the rich, thin, and conventionally pretty girls every time. Notaro's Idiot Girl's Christmas is a holiday worth celebrating. --Megan Halverson

Failed to see the magic.......2007-07-16
I did research for a light funny book for our book club and came across this book with outstanding reviews. The book was moderately funny at best. Yes it was an easy light read but nothing warranting 4 1/2 stars. Perhaps since this is the first of her books I have read it didn't have the same appeal. I would not recommend this book to anyone.
A Kotex Christmas says it all!.......2007-07-07
I loved this book just like I loved the others--my favorite standout is "A little Kotex Christmas," which was hysterical and will become a standard read during every holiday from here on out! Fantastic book!

Great Idiot Girl Reading.......2007-04-11
Oh my goodness was this book a scream! For any girl who has ever felt out of place or a little dumb or tripped over her own feet this book is for you! Notaro says things I have thought over and over and this book made me laugh out loud, the first book to ever do that. I also recommend any of her other works. I feel like I'm having a stupid, enjoyable conversation with my oldest friend whenever I read her works.
Give this to yourself for Christmas!.......2007-03-05
I have read all of Laurie's other books and bought this as an early Christmas present for myself to help me get thru the stench of the holiday season. It's a fun read. I especially loved the one about taking Nana shopping and shared it with two friends of mine who are dealing with demanding, cranky mothers in their late 80s. Laurie you are working your magic and I cant wait til your new book comes out in May. Keep it coming!

This is a cute book! with spells that work.......2006-12-09
Note**** You have to get your own ingredients they don't come with the book. This book is small, cute and has simple spells that really do work. You can easily buy any of the indredients at your local grocery store or just look in your kitchen cabinet. They are fun to do and the one that I did try Landed me a job. Good Luck have fun I hope All your fun spells come true (with harm to none)
Not too Bad . . . Not too Good.......2006-03-31
First of all, this book is not about black magic. So any one who wants to kill someone, don't check this one out. The spells are more about female empowerment and getting even with people over petty little things such as road rage and "Oh, you cheated on me!" I mean, being cheated on isn't little, but the spells in this book aren't serious enough for that type of revenge.
This book was actually a little disappointing because in truth none of the spells are really "naughty." It's sort of like a good girl's way of attempting to get even with someone and then coming off really merciful and nice anyway. In fact, I honestly haven't found any of the spells within this book useful. Other people's published grimoires have become so useless to me that I write my own spells now.
Look out for my own published grimoire soon!

Not seriously for the Wiccan tradition BUT...........2006-01-21
I see these types of books as a little similar to the hit TV series " Charmed ". That is : a lot of fun and cutesy, but not really based on anything to do with the Wiccan tradition.
The book is a lot of fun, very cute, and with some very basic ideas, but kind of teenage in it's style. Not much use if you have been studying the Wiccan tradition at all, but light dribbly entertainment. Sort of " bachelorette night " type standard.
sweet little book.......2005-09-12
Quite simple and easy spells, some of which I personally wouldnt do (you're the one I want) cuz it messes with other people's free will, but other than that I am pleasantly surprised with both content and presentation.
Cute - For Witches, not Wiccans.......2005-08-05
I saw this book at Barnes & Nobles and thought it was funny. I like little books even if they aren't very practical. I am amused by the "don't buy this" comments from some reviewers. First of and foremost - all Witches are NOT wiccan. Witchcraft and wicca are NOT the same thing. Life is not all love and light and positive. Sometimes it's painful, seething anger, and darkness. When you are reeling from a recent breakup or other emotional trauma, the IDEA of turning the ex into a toad is enough to put a smile on your face and put you back in the light. This is humor people - try some!

DAZZLING DISPLAY BY A GREAT NEW PIN-UP ARTIST.......2006-11-29
If there is one thing I can always count on Sal Quartuccio to do it is to find the latest and greatest pin-up artists and he's done so again with "Naughty Girls" The art of Joe Pekar. Pekar is another enormously talented guy on the cutting edge of digitally produced art--but I defy anyone who would have guessed that his exquisite work was digitally produced.
Pekar's work is slightly reminiscent of Joe Chiodo with his women having those big, blustery eyes, but that's about where the similarities end. As the title suggests, Pekar's women are quite the naughty vixens, and yet maintain an alluring air of innocence that make them irresistible. This 48 page gallery of Pekar's work is full color and simply dazzling. One need only check out the cover with teasing schoolgirl to know that you are in for a visual treat.
Schoolgirls are a running theme throughout the book and presented in a variety of clever avenues. One of my favorite pieces is of a couple of girls getting caught lighting up a cigarette in the bathroom. It's a piece I'd love to have hanging up in my office. Another recurring theme is that of one girl playing the temptress to another such as the girl with the laptop proclaiming "Ummm...I thought I was coming over to study" as her friend passionately nibbles on her ear. And what collection of this type would be complete without a pillow fight as Pekar gives us a quartet of lingerie-clad cuties battling it out with their down-filled weapons.
Pekar provides a diverse bevy of subjects...there's the gothic girl, The girl scout, the cowgirl, the soldier girl, pirate, fire fighter, Red Riding Hood, and one of the most wickedly hot witches I've ever laid my eyes on. This is simply a phenomenal collection from cover-to-cover. Pekar is staking his claim as one of the top pin-up artists around today. Highly recommended!

Very errotic and well writter-much better than the average for th3e genre as it has both good characterizations and a good plot.
Exciting, sexy read!.......2005-04-23
McKenna manages to weave together a story that explores a woman's desire to be submissive and how her new "vanilla" boyfriend finds himself drawn into her lifestyle. The writing gets steamier the further they go. Just when you think the story is going one way, McKenna throws in a plot twist that puts the happy couple in grave danger. All in all, an enjoyable, well crafted read!

Buy This Book Before Making A Business Decision, Ladies!.......2006-10-15
****
This is a great introductory book about what an adult sex toy business for women involves. It is strictly for a woman who is interested in distributing sex toys via the party plan method in an extremely tasteful way (as opposed to a sleezy or crude way). It would not be helpful for men who wish to start this type of business, as the book is written strictly for women. It also would not be helpful to a woman who is interested in selling hard-core adult sex products in the ways men have traditionally sold such products to each other (via pornographic sites, adult book stores, etc.) This is for the "new way" of marketing sexual aids to women, via romance, self-empowerment, and selling "sexual fulfillment"---techniques that are unique to this business of woman-to-woman sales.
The book covers MLMs and already established party plans. It also covers starting your own business from scratch. It compares the different costs and benefits of each method of business.
The greatest value of this book is that it covers what it's really, really like to be in the adult sex toy business, things I'd never thought of, like customer returns, liability and local laws, product delivery and privacy, control of guests at parties (yes, they can get rowdy!), the hard work and commitment necessary to be successful, and more. It really opened my eyes, changing my idea of the adult sex toy business as something that seemed like a fun and funky idea to the harsh realities of operating such a business. It is not a discouraging book, just a realistic book. It helps you to evaluate if you are the type of person that would truly enjoy the day-to-day operations of "having a romance business" (a popular euphemism for this business) before you run out and spend several hundred to over a thousand dollars to buy a kit from a company.
It is written by the two women who started Lady Bliss, a popular adult sex toy party plan, and details the often humorous experiences they ran into. As you might imagine, it comes off as being a little biased towards joining a party plan versus starting your own party plan, but just a little; this is a little natural, since this is the author's business. The authors cover several other party plans as well as sharing their own experiences starting their own, so you definitely get enough information to make a good decision and get started in your own research, saving you lots of time and even more money.
This book is a fun read (as you can tell by the cover) even if you don't plan on ever starting a business, but are just curious. If you are thinking of starting a "romance business", you'd be wise to buy this book; I'm certain you won't be sorry.
****
A Must read for beginners .......2005-08-30
I think this was a o.k book on the toy party industry and I recommend it to those starting out in the business and need some idea or base in which to start. I learned a few things from it but as you advanced and need more training and understanding a source I would recommend is [...]

Shannon Brown succeeds in meeting the expectations of the title of her book. We all want to know what went wrong in one of possibly several dysfunctional relationships of the past, and Brown broaches such subjects of discomfort with just the right gradation of humor at the moments when some may be most embarrassed. This book is a page turner filled with the experiences of one very determined woman who knows what she wants as well as what the reader always wanted to know but was too embarrassed to ask; a woman to which all women can relate.
