Each daily entry is a pithy, thought-provoking insight into becoming a respected, valued, and life-changing leader.
After one year of reading the daily entries and now starting on a second year, I can highly recommend this book for those who really want to lead from the heart and who can understand that a real leader is a servant to his or her team. If you don't want to change yourself, your perspectives, or your methods of leadership, don't bother with this book. It is for those who value personal growth and enrichment for leader and followers, despite personal sacrifices by the leader to model the necessary maturity.

I ran across allot of John Maxwell's work while doing resreach in graudate school. I have found his insight and advice inspiring and helpful. Leadership Promises is no different. This is a must have daily meditation for anyone striving to lead and achieve spiritual balance.

I bought both the hardback version and the leather bound version (1 for me and 1 as a gift).
A leader is not necessarily someone who has a position of high authority or who has hundred or thousands under his influence. Everyone can and should be a leader in some form or fashion, whether it is in the home with the family, in the workplace or at school while displaying God's testimony through your life, or in the church through our ministry, official or not. So, while this book is designed to be written for leaders, it applies to pretty much everyone.
I received this item in the middle of February, and the first day I had it, I read almost back to the beginning of the year. The book has superb insight regarding leadership examples in Scripture. Maxwell begins each day with a passage of Scripture from either the OT or NT and points out the leadership example displayed within. He takes from his previous writings on leadership to expound upon the leadership ideal found in the passage. As a seminary student, hoping to lead spiritually, a military officer, a husband and future father, I found this book to be a superb tool in helping me find my potential in leadership through God's gifts and His Word.
Binding and pages:
I was very pleased with the stout nature of the binding of both the leather bound and hardback versions. Both appear to be very durable and expertly bound. The pages are thick (again durable) and the layout is very beautifully done. Each page has a watermark on it with an inspirational image at the beginning of each month. Both editions have a ribbon bookmark.
I highly recommend this book to all people as we all have our times where we lead. This book will help us prepare for that time.

I love this book as it is a handy quick reference book for when you are helping others and need a certain Bible verse to comfort, encourage, etc. Bought one of each of my 8 children to have! Many different topics to look up to help in times of trouble. A must have and small enough to carry with you, but print is nice size also.

The compiler of this book (Dr. A. L. Gill) has crafted the single most powerful book of God's Promises. First, the Scripture is primarily drawn from the King James Version of The Bible. Newer "Living" translations, while they may be useful, occasionally change the meaning and context as a by-product of "updating" the language. With King James Version Scripture, you can't go wrong. Second, this is a reference work organized in a primarily situational manner. If you have a need, the book guides you to Scripture that addresses that need. Finally, other than the organizational text, it's 100% Scripture. Too often authors of "Promises" books add their own agenda and interpretation. Depending upon the author, this can cause more harm than good. This book places God's word in your mind and in your heart and lets you decide what He is trying to communicate to you. This book is a topical reference for finding Bible verses according to what the verse is about. The topics such as love, suffering, grace, etc are listed alphabetically and are followed by one or more verses that pertain to that subject. This makes it easy quickly find a verse for every occasion and important topics covered in the Bible.

It calmed me as the book contains specific Bible verses that speak to your need at a particular time in your life. It helps to increase your faith. Encouraging reminder of God's promises.......2003-10-07
This book was given to me while I was in a crisis. My life was turned upside-down. People had lied and betrayed me. There was nothing or nobody that I could trust, except God. This book offered a catagorized collection of God's promises of hope and comfort that I could hang onto, and it gave me security. Since that time I have used this book like a topical bible to add verses to encouragement cards and have given away a handful of copies to Christian friends in need of a reminder of God's unfailing love. I have a few other versions of promise books, but this one is indispensible!

This book is one of my all time favorites, which is very surprising if you have every seen the size. I was in a book store with family rushing to leave and something stopped me. I picked up this book and then I put it down because I needed to leave with my family. I don't exactly know why I picked it back up to buy it, but it was the best book I ever purchased. It is all you ever wanted in a short-story, inspirational breath of fresh air. Any situation you are going through this book will help you connect with God to see you through. Take a chance. Take my advice. Buy it! You won't regret it!

A tremendous overview of how God designed families to interact with each other, within the church, and within the government. Each role (husband/father, wife/mother, child)is thoroughly explained and brought into proper perspective. Sproul, Jr. reiterates that it is essential that each role be fulfilled according to God's plan, though the roles vary in duties/requirements. Excellent choice if you're looking to get your home lined up with scripture!

This is a great book about, just as the subtitle suggests, "God's promise for your family." The author covers the basics of God's design for the family, including each member (husband, wife, and child) as well as the church family, and he does not compromise what the scriptures, themselves, have to say on the matter. The theme of this book is, I think, best summarized in the closing paragraph, from which the following excerpt is taken, "We have been adopted into the only non-dysfunctional family in the universe. And he who has begun a good work in us has promised to bring us to perfection." The pages are filled with reason to hope, regardless of the state your family is in or the stage of life in which you currently find yourself.

I just got a new and very demanding job and have had a hard time finding a 2007 planner this late in the year, and one that fits my needs. I came across this one and IT IS PERFECT. It blesses my days in helping to provide order, and in reminding me Who holds my days in the palm of His hand! I love this planner - there's plenty of room to write, and lots of helpful extras in the back for storing information. And the scripture references and inspirational sayings make it that much better. Compact, beautiful, and worthwhile - I can't wait to buy the one for next year.

The Politically-Correct Daily Planner.......2007-02-19
For those of you who've purchased the "Christian Daily Planner" in the past, this is the same thing. For some reason, the manufacturers decided "Christian" was too exclusive a term and so made it "inspirational" instead.
But fear not -- the content hasn't been toned down (in this version, at least. We'll see what next year holds.) There are still Bible verses and inspirational thoughts throughout. My wife uses hers extensively, and she requests a new one every year.
However, if they water it down to fluffy feel-good sayings and drop the verses, we'll purchase a different product next year.
