Book Description
The "Queen of Suspense," Mary Higgins Clark, delivers a gripping tale of deception and tantalizing twists that might have been ripped from today's headlines.
When Nicholas Spencer, the charismatic head of a company that has developed an anticancer vaccine, disappears without a trace, reporter Marcia "Carley" DeCarlo is assigned the story. Word that Spencer, if alive, has made off with huge sums of money -- including the life savings of many employees -- doesn't do much to change Carley's already low opinion of Spencer's wife, Lynn, who is also Carley's stepsister and whom everyone believes is involved. But when Lynn's life is threatened, she asks Carley to help her prove that she wasn't her husband's accomplice. As the facts unfold, however, Carley herself becomes the target of a dangerous, sinister group that will stop at nothing to get what they want.

In a novel that reaffirms her reputation as ""America's Queen of Suspense,"" Mary Higgins Clark delivers a gripping tale of deception and tantalizing suspense. Nicholas Spencer, charismatic head of the medical research company Gen-stone, involved in the development of an anticancer vaccine, suddenly disappears. His private plane crashes en route to Puerto Rico, but his body is not found. Early results of the vaccine seemed highly promising. Yet, coinciding with Nicholas Spencer's disappearance comes news that the FDA is denying approval. Then follows the shocking revelation that Spencer had looted Gen-stone of huge sums of money -- including the lifetime savings of people who had risked every penny they had. Marcia ""Carley"" DeCarlo, the thirty-two-year-old columnist for the Wall Street Weekly, is assigned to cover the story. Carley is the stepsister of Spencer's wife, Lynn, an aggressive PR woman and socialite, whom she dislikes and distrusts. The day after news of her husband's disappearance rocks the financial and medical world, Lynn attends a meeting of the stockholders of Gen-stone, flaunting expensive clothing and jewelry. Accused of having participated in the scam, she appears indifferent to the anger and despair of the people attending, among them a man whose child has cancer and who is now about to lose his home. That night, she narrowly escapes death when her mansion in Bedford, New York, is set on fire. She turns to Carley, begging her to use her investigative skills to prove that she was not her husband's accomplice. As Carley proceeds with her investigation, she is confronted by seemingly impenetrable questions: Is Nicholas Spencer dead or in hiding? Was he guilty or set up? Why the sudden reversal in medical opinion of the vaccine from recognition to condemnation? And as the facts begin to unfold, she becomes the target of a dangerous group involved in a sinister and fraudulent scheme. The Second Time Around is Mary Higgins Clark at her be

ANOTHER ENJOYABLE READ.......2007-04-13
No spoiler here....I have this one only four stars simply because I did not feel this was one of her best works. That being said, she is still Mary Higgins Clark, and that means your in for a good read. There are plenty of twists and turns to this story as is the case with this authors novels. Here we have a reporter following a story with murder and mystry throughout. I do have to classify this one as a page turner. I like the way the author can handle some pretty horrible stuff but does it with class without being gross about it. For a good read, an enjoyable read, recommend this one highly.
Where is MHC?.......2006-10-06
Did Mary Higgins Clark even write this book? Or...did she draw up an outline, write the first and last chapters, and leave the rest to one of her minions? I've noticed this type of failure with many authors I follow. All of a sudden I'm questioning "Who wrote this book?"
There was a time that I expectantly awaited the release of a new Mary Higgins Clark. I've read them all and have even had them signed, at "Boston Globe's Authors' Luncheons" where Ms. Clark has been one of my favorite guest authors on more than one occasion.
At some point in time, though, I wondered if the hardcover price was worth an evening's entertainment...as I generally consumed her books in one sitting. Then the fact that she (like Stephen King) often put children or young people in jeopardy began to bother me.
I've wondered if this is a good thing. Certainly from an author's standpoint, it works. Talk about a hook...how many people can read one of these books and think "That could be my...son, daughter, niece, nephew, student."...not many.
Anyway...I started waiting for the publication of paperbacks...and now, get the hard covers at the library. Next on my list was "Two Little Girls in Blue." But...after this book, I'm seriously wondering if I'll ever pick up another Mary Higgins Clark.
I have this bad habit of "reading forward"...scanning future chapters, reading the ending...out of sequence. Not this time. I wasn't interested enough to do so. I doggedly read it, page by page, thinking "Eventually something of interest will happen." but it never did.
I've given this book two stars...as I did manage to finish it, rather than toss it aside, halfway through. "The Second Time Around" is, by far, one of the most disappointing novels I've read in years.
Good but the Same.......2006-05-16
I love Mary Higgins Clark and this book was no different. However, it was really preictable and much like her other books. I figured it out within the first chapter. Not one of her better books but still an enjoyable read.
Mary Higgins is Back!.......2005-10-05
Nicholas Spencer, the head of a company that has developed an anticancer vaccine become the suspect of stealing all the money of the stockholders that went vanishing mysteriously after Nick crush in his plane on the way to Puerto Rico and the police can't find his dead body. Marcia "Carley" Decarlo is a reporter assigned to cover the story which maybe become story of the year.
It become more dangerous when someone burned Nick house with his wife, Lynn who is also Carley stepsister in it. When Carley probe into the matter deeper, she become convinced that the matter is not as transparent like it look. Several strange accident started to happen , people went dead or missing and if she didn't solve the story soon, she maybe become the next target.
At last Mrs. Clark is back! After several of her latest books which I can only describe as good book but nothing memorable, this time she had write one of her best book . I can't put down this book cause I was so curious about the real truth of the matter in this book. Very good plot and storyline. The writing is fast paced and so good it kept you guessing the real motive through the end. I loved it!
And I can say loudly (SPOILER!) that this time , the bad guy isn't someone who romantically or try involved romantically with our heroine like so many in Mrs. Clark previous books. :D
Another winner from a solid author.......2005-08-07
Chain restaurants succeed because there is always a certain level of quality to the product. Never any surprises and few disappointments. That is also the appeal of books by prolific authors like MHC. She has believable characters, realistic dialog and a plot that grabs you from the first page.
In this book, we confront a medical mystery almost "snatched from the headlines." A famous man disapears. His company is investigated for stock fraud and the world believes he's taken off with the loot. There is a nutty serial killer, an unlikable step sister (aren't the always unlikale?) and a crusading reporter. The pace is fast in this audio book and the reader has an interesting voice. There were a few surprises along the way and a few tense moments too with a sniper stalking people - urged on by the voices only he can hear. I always listen in the car and this CD set helped me get through some very long hours on the road. For fans of MHC, you will not be disappointed. For folks new to this author, this is a very well written story and worth your time.

Moving Relationship Novel Explores Need For Family.......2007-04-13
Marcia Willett does an emotional exploration of the basic human desire for a sense of family. Whether related by blood or by circumstances, all humans have this unfailing desire to "belong."
Wealthy Mathilda Rainbird has lived her life alone and unmarried but in her last years seeks legal help (from James Barrington whom we met earlier in HATTIE'S MILL) in tracking down relatives she has never met. She bequeaths her rather sizable estate including a home on a scenic cove of England to three distant relatives her solicitor is able to locate. There is Tessa, a young single woman who has tragically lost her family and supports herself with a successful dog-sitting business. Tessa counts among her clients Kate Webster, a regularly recurring character in Willett novels, and it is her friendship with Kate that leads to her meeting Kate's son Giles. A cousin, Will Rainbird, is a widowed and retired diplomat living in Switzerland and the third relative is Beatrice Holmes, the recently retired matron at an all-male prep school, who is having a hard time adjusting to her new life. All are at points in their lives where this need to belong is acute, but can these three virtual strangers find a way to all live in harmony? Is blood really that thick? It is also the story of Matilda's companion in the last years of her life, the distraught Isobel Stangate, who seems to have paid a large price for her adulterous dalliance. Rejected by the husband she realizes too late that she still wants, and spurned by the daughter she has publicly humiliated, Isobel finds solace with Mathilda. Will she ever be able to make amends to her husband and daughter? Has she paid too dear a price for a reckless grab at happiness?
The novel is rich with the scenic beauty of the West Country of England, but it is the lives of Mathilda, Isobel, Tessa, Will, and Bea that make this book very special. Whether young or old, married or single, the need to bond is inherent and the road to friendship and love is often perilous.

Rents aren't getting cheaper, high-paying jobs aren't getting easier to find, and the result is that financial independence can be tough for young adults to create. For many, the answer is moving back home with their parents; it's a phenomenon that gets more sitcom jokes than thoughtful discussion. Enter Boomerang Nation, a how-to guide that helps ease family frustrations when the empty nest is suddenly full again.
Author Elina Furman's (The Everything After College Book) mix of sympathy and snarky humor manages to simultaneously give you a hug and a firm kick in the rear. Rather than focusing on her own experience (many years of living with mom after college), Furman covers a full range of possible reasons for moving in with the folks: break ups, job loss, grad school, parents in need of assistance, and saving money for a specific goal are all included. Tidbits from a number of interviews with boomerangers are found in every chapter; though short, the personal stories add a friendly touch.
The advice covers highly specific topics with pleasing bluntness. Her insistence on helping out around the house and chipping in financially will have parents delightedly highlighting sections, while her understanding of modern dating and examination of parenting styles helps the younger generation sort though complex issues. Don't let the lighthearted writing style fool you: Furman's sensible suggestions can help everyone in the family straighten out the wrinkles of redefined relationships. Jill Lightner

Couldn't Have Come at a Better Time.......2006-03-04
Fascinating look at what people go through when they move back home. I just got home 2 months ago because of layoffs after 12 years of living on my own, and it's been really weird. One minute my mom is looking at my emails, asking me who so and so and my dad is yelling at me to change all the lightbulbs in the house. Even worse my old room is horible.. It's become this huge catch-all for my mom's magazine collection and all my dad's old clothes and paintings. Furman is pretty funny and doesn't talk down ever!! Which is nice since everyone says people who move are basically losers with no life. I have a graduate degree and have held down excutive positions so it's kinda strange to be in this position. But as soon as I find a job I'm moving out again, hopefully by next year.
You CAN Go Home Again?.......2005-08-29
Which writer was it wrote the "you can't go home again?" He was right. I have tried it twice and neither time has it worked. But, Elina Furman in New York City was thinking of another way to go back home. It is increasing done these days (18 million have done just that to the dismay and disgust of their parents), and is getting to be a pattern of not being responsible for one's own destiny. Going back in life is never good, as you are not moving forward -- the past is never better than the future.
She did survive a second time around living at home and is proud of it, but I'd really like to know what 'side of the story' her parents would reveal. It is never easy to have a grown up son right under you feet at all times. Didn't he learn anything in school about coping? I have a friend here whose thirty-something son moved in her small apt. with his child out of wedlock. My youngest son, age 30, did the very same thing with his dad only when the girlfriend left, she took the child with her.
As a result I lost contact with the two grandchildren I love the most as their mother moved them to Athens, Alabama, to keep them away from their stupid father, my ignorant son. It may benefit the grown up 'kids' (if you can call them that -- they are supposed to be adults when they finish college) to not have to pay rent and get all the free food they desire, free housekeeping and utilities. None of the responsibilities of adulthood. Will they ever grow up? Not as long as the long-suffering parents let them get away with this intrusion.
This is much more than a silly boomerang game. It is serious business and should be stopped. Let them go out and see how the homeless live; they'd get free clean clothes everyday, a free bus ticket (so they can look for work!), free meals and a place to sleep, but they are on their own (and the town) the rest of the time. They lug around all of their belongings and beg for 'change' to buy shoes (ha) -- they get free shoes (I've told them which church will give them walking and hiking shoes.) and to buy a cup of coffee. I bought two of the morning 'specials' twice not realizing I would have to carry around two cups of coffee, which I spilled. One fellow asked for change to buy a cup of coffee, and I said, "I will give you a cup of coffee." Just today, one young man asked for change to ride the bus, I told him I didn't have any. He was able to get fifty cents from a man and promptly walked away, telling me he was not going to ride the bus. I was waiting for the bus. So, what else is new? Let some of those freeloaders who take advantage of their old parents see what it is really like if they don't grow up and get a good career to take care of themselves. How's that, note-worthy friend, to talk about something I know something about. Elina Furman wrote THE EVERYTHING AFTER COLLEGE BOOK and THE EVERYTHING DATING BOOK.
Coulnd't have done without it.......2005-08-02
I had to move home three months ago to help my dad after (...) divorce to my step mom. I left my job, my friends, and moved to a new city. My friend had read about this (...) and gave it to me as a present when I moved home. I read it cover to cover and it really made me feel better to know that other people were going through (...) same thing. I especially liked (...) section about dealing with single parents, cuz it's so true what she writes about. I'm taking Furman's advice and setting a move out date so my Dad doesn't get too dependant on me living at home. Thanks.
A little disappointing.......2005-07-25
I was disappointed in this book because it focused too much on one specific living situation - young adults who are moving home with their happy suburban parents. In several places, the author suggests that doing your own laundry and not coming in at 3am trashed will greatly improve many relationship issues with your parents. It never actually occured to me to ask my folks to do my laundry - I think I'm missing out here. Also, there are many mentions of things like how to deal when your hip parents when they want to go to happy hour with you and your friends, and how to understand that they are tired from the workday too and might want to hit the bar. What about dealing with retired parents, single parents, ill parents, and all those other things that bring us home that raise many issues (like privacy, expenses, mealtime, etc.). Finally, it was difficult for me to feel bad for the people in the book who lived in the 'burbs and had to drive a whole hour to get to their friends hang outs now that they lived at home. There is a large portion of people who don't live anywhere near a metropolitan area for a quick fix in an hour's drive. The suggestion that those of us in small towns still have places to go to meet people our own age - like the local bookstore - perplexed me. We have two stoplights. I haven't noticed a bookstore at either intersection - but I can dream. On the bright side, it was nice to see some stats in the book about how many young adults really are returning home (for various reasons) and there are some good web sites metioned in the book for things like health insurance, moving, finding jobs, and meeting people. If you are not an early 20s college grad who just moved an hour away from a major city and are suffering by living with your extremely hip working parents who refuse to always look the other way when you drag kegs into your room, then definitely only get this book only for some humorous stories - not actual advice.
I can totally relate.......2005-07-22
As a boomerangers myself I can totally relate with this book. It's an amazing read.
Book Description
"Jumping Rope the Second Time Around" is the first book written on the backward twirling style of jump roping. The book was written primarily for a busy adult audience looking for an inexpensive easy to learn and fun alternative exercise program that could be done just about anywhere and at anytime. Unlike jump roping books currently available and targeting the adult audience, "Jumping Rope the Second Time Around" demonstrates how the backward twirling and multidirectional movement techniques are safer for an older audience especially for those who have suffered from repetitive stress injuries to their wrists, or have concerns about stress and impact on their ankles, knees, and lower back. The book also demonstrates how one is able to condition all of the major muscle groups of the upper and lower body by doing exercises such as "biceps curls", "rowing", and "rope walking" - all of which are techniques using the jump rope as the only piece of exercise equipment needed.
To date, all of the books and videos on jump roping for adults teach the same technique used to teach children. Often times little consideration is given to the fact that using a "childhood" technique can be injurious to an adult body which undoubtedly has gone through many physical changes over the years. Briefly, forward twirling and stationary jumping creates premature muscle fatigue as well as impact and stress to the ankles, knees, and lower back. The backward twirling and multidirectional movement techniques virtually eliminate stress to these parts of the body.
Not only does "Jumping Rope the Second Time Around" provide the reader with a safer and more efficient workout, it is also in a user friendly format. It provides the reader with tips on stretching and on ways to reduce stress at work and at home; it provides travel tips for working out while on business travel or vacation, and it contains a letter of commitment, and several workout charts which are duplicated and perforated for easy removal. Perhaps one the most unique features of the book is that it is only 9" x 4" (approximately the size of any airline ticket jacket)and is spiral bound. Thus, the book is just as portable as the jump rope itself. Another feature included in the book are inspirational/motivational quotes from notable people such as Oliver Wendell Holmes, John F. Kennedy, Mohandas Ghandi, Vince Lombardi, and Muhammed Ali.
Without any tricks or gimmicks, "Jumping Rope the Second Time Around" provides the reader with a new look at an old pastime activity.

Awesome!.......2006-12-07
This is an excellent way to stay in shape. I've tried it and it works! I commend the author for such an innovative and extremely easy way to jump rope and stay fit. Everyone should read this book. It's the best I've seen out there. Do yourself a favor -- buy this book, you will not be sorry.
A little surprising.......2006-07-10
The book that arrived (as a gift) was a small spiral bound pamphlet that appears to be self-published. No one would have thought it should cost more than $8-$10. And there seems to be a religious/spiritual content; for example, there are quotes from "The Daily Word", The Holy Bible, as well as "Tao Te Ching".
All Around Athlete With Bad Knees.......2002-03-03
I'm a 36 year old aerobic instructor, runner, High-school volleyball and basketball coach, K-12th grade physical education teacher, and an all around athlete who is always looking for new and exciting workouts. I was sad when I found out that I had bursitis in my knees . The condition was from all the years of pounding on the hard gym floor and running on pavement. I was elated to read the book "Jumping Rope The Second Time Around". I thought that at first my poor knees would not take the jumping. I was not thinking of the innovative jumping technique taught by Mr. Carlos Coffman. The Irope technique does not put any stress on the knees, and the backward twirling of the rope does not fatigue the arms. Therefore I have the energy and endurance to rope longer. The book is very easy to follow. It is like having Mr. Coffman right by your side teaching you the Irope techniques. My daughter, who is 11, is learning to Irope . If you have a kid that does not like traditional sports, but will jump rope, Irope is probably something you might like to try. I live in the San Antonio area and we have been labeled one of the fattest cities. So my daughter and myself Irope at least 30-45 minutes 5 days a week. And she loves it, I love it. Irope is fun and challenging and we're exercising as a family. I can think of 6 reasons to Irope:
1. Inexpensive
2. Portable
3. The whole family can do it
4. Full body workout
5. It's fun
6. It works
Look for me in 4 to 6 months doing my first Irope race.
-Teresa
Youngest Iroper.......2002-03-03
...I have the book "Jumping Rope The Second Time Around" and it's very easy to follow along with. I am the first child to do the irope method. I'm surprised because it's so easy.... -Courtney Acklin
JUMP TO IT.......2001-02-27
It's the best overall workout, in a very simple program. Keep an open mind and a willing attitude to try your best, no matter what your current level of fitness is....you SHALL be challanged. This is an effective way to get in shape and increase your stamina, plus acheive a whole new level of fitness. The program works for anyone, the most helpful feature is being are able to chart your progress in the forms provided. There are various drills that can target specific sports if you so choose. Finding time to workout has always been my challange, but this technique takes less time and it's fun. When people see you IROPE for the first time, yes they will stare, but only to try to figure out HOW you are doing this so easily. Soon you will have all your friends joining in on the fun!
It's a great book, share it!
Book Description
When jazz musicians get together, they often delight one another with stories about the great, or merely remarkable, players and singers they've worked with. One good story leads to another until someone says, "Somebody ought to wrie these down!" With Jazz Anecdotes, somebody finally has. Drawing on a rich verbal tradition, bassist and jazz writer Bill Crow has culled stories from a wide variety of sources, including interviews, biographies and a remarkable oral history collection, which resides at the Institute of Jazz Studies at Rutgers University, to paint fascinating and very human portraits of jazz musicians. Organized around general topics--teaching and learning, life on the road, prejudice and discrimination, and the importance of a good nickname--Jazz Anecdotes shows the jazz world as it really is. In this fully updated edition, which contains over 150 new anecdotes and new topics like Hiring and Firing, Crow regales us with new stories of such jazz greats as Benny Goodman, Chet Baker, Ravi Coltrane, Buddy Rich and Paul Desmond. He offers extended sections on old favorites--Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Coleman Hawkins and Lester Young, and the fabulous Eddie Condon, who seems to have lived his entire life with the anecdotist in mind. With its unique blend of sparkling dialogue and historical and social insight, Jazz Anecdotes will delight anyone who loves a good story. It offers a fresh perspective on the joys and hardships of a musician's life as well as a rare glimpse of the personalities who created America's most distinctive music.

Q - "How Late Does The Band Play?".......2006-07-12
A - "About half a beat behind the drummer." Or. Q - "How can a jazz musician end up with a million dollars?" A - "Start with two million." Or. Q - "What do you call a person that likes to hang around with musicians?" A - "A drummer."
Jazz Anecdotes by Bill Crow is much more than a collection of jokes skewed towards a jazz musician's cattywhumpus view of the world. It's even more than a collection of colorful war stories about life on the road, playing lousy clubs, and trying to keep a band together. It's really an insider's look at the world of jazz, and a wonderful one. If nothing else emerges from this book certainly one learns that only love could keep a jazz musician playing, given the obstacles of this lifestyle.
Fact and myth seem to bob and weave through these tales, which is perhaps appropriate. I am a little uncertain about Lester Young's claim that he started playing the sax only after giving up on the drums because he noticed that when a gig was done and girls were milling around the bandstand, the sax players quickly packed up their horns and left with girls on their arms while the drummer desperately tried to pack up and when he was done - left empty handed.
Jazz Anecdotes is rich in content, interesting for novice and aficionado alike. The careers of great individuals and the storied histories of seminal bands are examined in detail. What's fun is that some of the "legend" is worn off, replaced by the person. Jazz truly is America's greatest contribution to world culture, we should all be proud of it. It's worth remembering that the music is not a monolithic entity but an organic, dynamic thing - the product of a diverse and eccentric group of splendid individuals. Bill Crow's book takes you inside that world.
A Must-Read Jazz Book.......2005-01-08
I love every moment since I read this book. This book would take u on forever even if u're a craver for jazz music. It tells all the details from Wynton, Duke, Miles, Hirt, Coltrane, Bird, all of 'em right here on 1 book. Go get it or u'll miss out a world of good music.
Great entertainment.......2004-12-11
Great entertainment from the the first to the last page, even if you aren't a jazz buff. Mr. Crow was a bassist and he must have heard most of those anecdotes on the grapevine.
Superb book!.......2004-07-17
For anyone into jazz, if you don't have a copy of this book, you're in for a rare treat. Wonderfully captures the essence of jazz and jazz musicians. Great stories, unique personalities, and guaranteed a laugh a minute. Caution: Don't read it while you're eating and/or drinking...you'll probably choke to death. Thanks for a very special book Bill!
Entertaining -- and a good intro to jazz........2001-08-25
I bought this book for my son, whoÕs a musician, but I heard him laughing so much as he was reading it that I asked to borrow it. Even if youÕre not a musician, or even very knowledgeable about jazz, this is a really entertaining book. Almost every chapter has at least a couple of laugh-out-loud lines. It also gives you a good feel for what the lives of jazz musicians were like Ð the camaraderie and competition, the inventiveness, the struggles over money, the often terrible working (and especially recording) conditions. There are also poignantly funny stories about problems with drugs and alcohol, and even about the racial prejudice that musicians had to put up with. My favorite story in the book was about Bessie Smith storming out to confront a group of Klansmen gathering outside the tent where she was working. Peppering them with curses, she ordered them to "pick up them sheets and run." They did. Great woman. There are lots of great women (and men Ð mostly men) in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know a little bit about them.

Leftovers? No problem.......2007-04-17
The recipes in this cookbook take you from Sunday night supper to Wednesday night potluck. It is one of my favorite "go to" cook books. It has the conventional such as roast pork and then the more adventurous such as 'pork salad with mustard soy sauce' or 'medallions of pork with braised fennel and apple-mustard wine sauce'. Have liked them all. My original book is falling apart so am ordering a new one.....

A must read if you're raising a grandchild!.......2000-02-28
This book is personal, practical and well worth reading. As co-authors of Grandloving, we hear from a lot of grandparents, and one wrote to tell us that she had highlighted so many parts of First Time Around that she should have dipped the whole thing in yellow paint!
A timely how-to book for raising kids.......1999-04-24
In view of this week's school tragedy in Colorado, this book offers practical and timely first-hand advice for grandparents, parents, teachers and other adults committed to raising responsible, caring human beings. Joan Callander puts her heart and her own painful experiences out there for those who want to learn more about the care and feeding of our most precious resource. Most poignant are her personal letters to her grandson, Zach, originally written never to be seen by others, but to help her see beyond the pain of the moment and stay whole. Zach is one lucky kid to have an extended family to love and support him and to have a grandma like Joan. Read it even if you don't have kids!

Excellent Read .......2006-05-07
I enjoyed the Second Time Around even more that the first book, Time Lottery - most likely because the stage is already set. Fast paced, great characters, wonderful plot lines. I hope the author writes another book or two for this series. A great summer or vacation read!

A "must read" for single men and women seeking to have a viable social life.......2006-06-09
Dating 101: The Second, Third or Fourth Time Around by Deanna Frazier (founder of The University of Dating) addresses the complexities of every aspect associated with the difficult game of dating. Guiding her readers through the entire process of being single and facing a potential date, Dating 101 emphasizes that a date is merely a date, noting that many Americans over forty-five are single, discusses the overwhelming presence of players in modern day, shows how to get back into the dating game, teaches how to make dating effective and fun, and provides an intelligent approach to finding just the right person. A "must read" for single men and women seeking to have a viable social life, Dating 101 is very strongly recommended reading, especially for those who are dissatisfied with their "single-hood status" and are losing out in the dating game.
Dating Can Still Be Fun After 40.......2006-05-03
After being out of the dating game for so many years I am delighted I found this book. I no longer have my "pity parties" on the couch and get out more to meet people. Still haven't found someone, but am having fun trying.
Also, I saw her recently on The Today Show with Katie Couric and was glad I did!
Got it for my best friend..........2006-05-03
My best friend has been single for six years. We were not pleased with any other "advice" books we found. The Diva has hit the target. Her insight and straight-shooting take is priceless.
