From the publisher

Traditionally pictures of saints have auras, but you don't have to be a saint to have an aura. Or read one. Rosetree explores 11 gifts you may have for aura reading. Ironically, any spiritual gift can cause problems until you learn how to handle it--e.g., emotional empaths often don't realize they take on feelings that really belong to other people. As long as you have a gift, why not make it work for you?

Empaths and others, you'll love the do-it-yourself techiques--over 100 of them--to save money, improve health, and more. No doubt this is the most practical book on aura reading ever written. And you'll find a salty sense of humor mixed in with Rosetree's tips using aura reading at the supermarket, during and after sex, for kissing babies, gardening, even a couple of lie detector tests.

5 out of 5 stars Useful book .......2007-06-27

This book is very interesting and helpful for the person who wants to know more about the world we belong to. I would recommend to read this book.

5 out of 5 stars If you're an empath..........2007-05-14

I have almost a hundred books on spirituality and this one and empowered by empathy are my all time favorites... with so many books I had to ask myself why. The first reason is that the author of the book is an empath and I am an empath as well (emotional), it was with great relief that I learned this fact through the books, much more usefull (to me) than being taught how to awaken the kundalini. Furthermore many spiritual masters around the world are not empaths at all and are unable to read other peoples emotions and their real needs...
Secondly the book teaches that you can read auras in so many different ways, with the senses that you are stronger, etc... as opposed to teaching reading auras in a formatted uniform way, like for example through sight alone.
Thirdly I like the playful, funny kind of writing and speaking of the author.
Overall mark: 5 stars

3 out of 5 stars The jury is still out..........2006-09-12

A close friend of mine had attended a live training with Rose Rosetree and talked highly of her. I then bought her book on Aura Reading and also on Empathy.

My friend tells me that Rose is much better in person than she comes across on the written page.

I tend to take books such as this with a grain of salt, while trying to keep an open mind. At this point I'm very skeptical, but I do not want to "close the book" just yet. I have read the book and reread certain sections, including the exercises.

The book has a section on identifying "your special talent" for reading auras: visual, kinetically, olfactory, "knowing," etc. By the end of the chapter I think that everyone would have identified with one of the things Rose said. This means that we ALL have a special talent. However, if we all have it, what makes it so special?

The book is about "reading" auras, not "seeing" auras. Basically, she talks about gathering information about someone or something through "subtle perceptions."

She has several exercises for developing your ability to read auras. I really want to see colors, but I don't. She relies on the ability to see colors when describing some of the uses of aura reading. At other times, she seems to put everything under the umbrella of aura reading. Want to "hear" the music on a CD before you buy it? Read the aura! Use aura reading to smell perfumes without opening the bottles. (I kid you not, this is in the book).

The preparation for some of the exercises is simplistic and the book doesn't explain how or why certain things do the things she says they will. For example, she reported that you can raise your vibrational rate, by taking three deep breaths, which she calls "High vibration breaths." I've done a lot of deep breathing and a lot of meditation, but I don't believe I've really "seen" an aura.

On the other hand, I've "seen" things and felt things. I'm not sure what these things are. I don't know if it's just me fooling myself or if this is genuinely aura reading. I've always had the ability to look at someone or a picture of someone and size them up fairly accurately (based on reports by others). This is what I mean by the jury still being out. I continue to try the exercises, because I really would like to do the things she describes.

Please note: I'm writing this from my office and don't have the book with me, so some of the terminology may be off, but the concepts are not.

The bottom line is that the book doesn't cost that much and if you are interested, buy the book and try the exercises. Maybe you'll have more luck than I did.

5 out of 5 stars Aura Reading Through All Your Senses.......2006-04-12

This book is well worth your time! If you are looking to expand and enhance your personal Divine abilities, here is the best example of guidance I've had the pleasure of reading in a while. The techniques and guidance have enhanced my own personal experience so much, I simply have this "knowing" that it will benefit other's as well. Rose Rosetree, the author, has a knack of helping one see beyond the walls of the box we tend to compartmentalize our learning. She is encouraging and knows that each of us has our own special abilities, how to indentify those abilities, and then how to enhance and use them. You may find that it "qualifies" things you have done your whole life and didn't realize till you read "Aura Reading Through All Your Senses". Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Develop your Reading, Develop Spiritually.......2005-10-26

This book is one of a kind. Most book on aura reading are very limited in the way they teach to develop your abilities. This book cannot fail to help you unravel your gifts because it pinpoints your strengths. It doesn't promise instantaneous and magical aura viewing in "30 seconds!" or in "30 minutes!" Psychic reading is a skill to develop and this book helps you develop it.

One of the most interesting idea she discusses is that of synesthesia, the merging of the psychic senses (clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, etc) that happens eventually as you develop one or two of your talents. She also develops the three basic psychic senses into eleven.

The other strength of the book is that the author links psychic abilities development and spiritual development. She offers recommendations and a resource section to that end. In short, that book is completely worth it to the spiritual student, healer, psychic or else.

5 out of 5 stars It's Still Lawhead!!!.......2006-02-12

After reading some of the other reviews here I had to voice my opinion. I am just grateful that I read the book before these reviews!!! Maybe the action is a bit slower in this final book of the series but what it lacks in action it makes up for in plot... Only Lawhead could give us a story of this depth set in this era!!! Maybe it's not the Pendragon Cycle (of which I am a huge fan) but it is still Lawhead and I was not disappointed!!!
I really identified with Cait (the heroine). She struggled with herself and her world and was won over in the end by the God that had been chasing her throughout the story. The reemergence of de Bracineaux was utterly brilliant and true to his character from Rood only much more developed. And the ever present Cele De story was... well, let's not give that away, just know that our veiw of Murdo, Duncan, and Caitriona from within the Cele De was reconciled at last and beautifully. I felt he crowned the Celtic Crusades with gem!!!
No one, and I mean NO ONE does historical fiction/fantasy the way Lawhead can... who else can wrap those 2 genres up together and make you like it?

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorites trilogies.......2005-07-03

Here is my review of "The Mystic Rose," the concluding volume in "The Celtic Crusades" by Stephen Lawhead. It's a good conclusion to a good series.

This is the third volume in the Celtic Crusades series and I would rate this one as "not as good as the first, but better than the second." All of the books in this series are very good. The characters are well-developed, the plots are good and there are many interesting sub-plots. My only gripe is that the first two get started a little slowly, but if you hang in there for the first 50-75 pages then the action gets going well.

The Mystic Rose does the best job of the three in grabbing your attention at the beginning and holding it. Within the first few pages an event happens that sets the tone for the rest of the book. The heroine, Caitriona sets off on a quest to avenge her father's murder and capture Christendom's most sacred relic. In fact, capturing Christendom's most sacred relic is integral to her plan for revenge. This sets up a dicey moral dilemma that is resolved nicely at the end.

I find things like this moral dilemma to be one of Lawhead's strengths. In so much Christian fiction the heroes are cookie cutter Christians who seem to rise above all of the sins and temptations of the common man. Lawhead's heroes, and Caitriona in particular are very earthy, and very sinful people. The upshot of this is that he tells a story that leads one to believe that God, in his mercy, is the real hero of the story, not the protagonist of the book.

At the end of this story, Caitriona is less conquerer and more conquered by the love and mercy of God. This is a very gospel based story line.

All in all, the entire series is a worthwhile read.

4 out of 5 stars Great end to a good trilogy........2005-03-22

In the first two novels of this trilogy Lawhead narrates the tales of Murdo and then Duncan, Orkney Lords on pilgrimages to the Holy Land.

The final novel opens with the death of Duncan, and it is left to his plain headstrong daughter Cait and her flighty and beautiful sibling Thea to avenge him.

The now familiar Brother Andrew guides Cait in the theft of a letter which promises a prize beyond value, which can only be the Holy Grail (lets face it, the family already have the holy lance and the cross - what's left?).

Cait borrows from her fathers experience and travels to Damascus, where she randsoms a band of Norse knights who have been captured by the turks. Then they travel from one end of the Islamic world to the other, to Moorish Spain. Racing all the way to defeat the evil schemes of the corrupt Master of the Knights Templars, the book races to a thrilling conclusion. Will the Evil Renaud De Bracineaux get his filthy hands on the Grail, which he wants for himself, or will Cait save it.......for herself.....? I'm sure she deserves it. Something to do with keeping it safe until it is needed. Never did understand that twist in the plot.

The use of a female protagonist sets this novel out from the previous two, and makes for a good conclusion to the series. It is not the Da Vinci Code, so everyone lives happily ever after except for the bad guys. But it is a fun read, and the research is good, so you get a good feel for the world of the Crusades.

4 out of 5 stars The Best of the Trilogy!.......2005-02-23

Usually when reading a trilogy, the first book is the best, and the series begins to lose steam as one goes on. Not in this case. This is by far the best book of this trilogy.
Caitriona, daughter of Lord Duncan of Caithness, visits Byzantium with her father and sister, on her way to trace her father's footsteps during his sojourn (if you can call it that) in the Holy Land of many years ago. Here their trip goes awry, and chaos begins. Duncan is assassinated inside Agha Sophia, in the heart of Byzantium, by the evil Grand Master of the Knight Templars.
What follows is a witty and entertaining tale of adventure in exotic places, lead by a woman both vulnerable and strong, whose destiny has been traced long before her journey has begun.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves historical fiction. I fully enjoyed it.

3 out of 5 stars A nice rose, but it could smell sweeter........2004-05-21

With "The Mystic Rose", Stephen Lawhead's Celtic Crusades trilogy ends as it began: good but not great. But perhaps that's because I have been spoiled by his superb ability in some of his other books. This is still a decent historical adventure. On this occasion the protagonist is Cait, daughter of Duncan and granddaughter of Murdo. After the murder of her father Duncan, Cait uncovers a secret letter with details about the mystic rose, the famed Holy Grail from Christ's Last Supper. After stealing the letter and armed with a small band of knights, Cait undertakes her own quest to grab the cup for herself. But the ruthless Templar knight Renaud de Bracineaux is close on her heels, and has his own plans for the sacred relic. The holy treasure becomes the object of a race between the two, both with ambitions of selfish greed. The closing stages of the novel feature an unexpected and yet not unsatisfying resolution. The loose ends are finally tied together, including the long awaited connection with the story of Gordon Murray which frames the novel.

Having a heroic feminine protagonist with such determination seemed anachronistic, and it is debatable whether Lawhead was really able to create a female heroine with any degree of real success or conviction. Yet what I appreciated about Lawhead's characterization is that Cait is a well-rounded character who develops, and that she needs to learn to overcome her lust for revenge, as well as her uncritical passion for a Moorish prince dubious in character. The repentant Cait is eventually overwhelmed by the enormity of her crimes, and confesses: "I prayed to be God's instrument of justice. I thought to use the Mystic Rose to lure my father's killer to his doom. For that, I needed the Holy Chalice, and I came here to take it. You must think me a most brazen and contemptible sinner. The audacity of my deeds amazes even me." (p414). Lawhead's main character in this respect is a flawed and very real - just like ourselves - which makes his story all the more convincing and credible. The Holy Grail plays an important role in Cait's change. As was the case in the other books of the trilogy, coming into contact with the sacred relic leads to visions and experiences of spiritual renewal, sipping from the cup resulting on this occasion in a vision of the Passover Feast.

But while the characterization is quite sound, the plot lacks the suspense and imagination of some of Lawhead's other efforts, and the series as a whole lacks their intense passion and emotion. Like the rest of the series, "The Mystic Rose" is good, but not great. Here's hoping that Lawhead will return to crafting the novels in the genre that gained him such great success: the brilliant, imaginative and passionate historical fantasy of "The Song of Albion" trilogy and "Pendragon" cycle. If not for the brilliance of these other works, perhaps I would be speaking in much more glowing terms of "The Celtic Crusades". But while this series doesn't shine so bright when compared with Lawhead's own work, perhaps it can hold its own against a great deal of other historical fiction today. If you're a Lawhead fan, you'll probably enjoy his other work better. But if you're a historical adventure fan, you might well find "The Celtic Crusades" a rewarding read. -GODLY GADFLY

5 out of 5 stars Loved this book! .......2007-08-23

I guess I didn't realize it until now, but I've been a Green Witch most of my adult life. Thanks, Robin Rose Bennett - for bringing that to light. I love this book! I loved its earthiness, I loved its magic! Unlike one of the other reviewers, I really enjoyed the personal stories. Reading them, added deeper meaning to my own experiences - and urged me to reacquainted myself with the moon. I had been taking it for granted and now have a renewed respect for it. It is back in my life, and welcomed me. This book, this message came into my life, just when I needed it most. Mo' magic!

5 out of 5 stars gorgeous writing and pure inspiration.......2007-06-26

Robin really expresses the concept of magic and relationship to energy in ways that speak deeply and inspiringly to me who have been praticing this for years, and also in ways I can see would also speak to someone completely new to these ideas.
I've been using the book for my morning meditations, reading a passage and letting it really sink in, to excellent effect.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for Beginners.......2007-04-05

This is a perfect book for anyone who is searching for heartfelt and loving guidance in green witch magic. Robin Rose Bennett guides the reader into an awareness of healing magic with an easygoing, gentle style into which she weaves personal stories and wisdom to illustrate the rituals and spells.

I highly recommend this book to everyone but especially to those who are just beginning their journey.

5 out of 5 stars Magic Indeed!!.......2007-03-24

This book worked for me on many levels. It provided practical applications for working with plants as well as helping me attune to nature and my own intuition. When all these concepts are in synch, it is magic indeed! The book also delves deeply into emotional connections that allow the reader to find resonance in a very personal way as the author's voice is nurturing and sincere. It is obvious to me that this book comes from a heartfelt and experienced healer who truly wants to share her knowledge with those who seek. Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars A Truly Wonderful Book!.......2007-03-07

Robin Rose Bennett takes readers on a unique and wondrous journey as she introduces them to the marvels of our plant allies and the magical gifts they offer. I loved this book and find myself re-reading it often. Whether it is read cover to cover, one chapter at a time, or a page here and there, "Healing Magic" helps to awaken your senses, deepen your intuition and to recognize and be grateful for the healing gifts of the earth on which we live. I especially appreciate the depth, yet simplicity and clarity with which the author details spells and rituals and the down-to-earth style in which such information is presented, making it easy and accessible for the novice and seasoned green witch alike. This book is a must read for anyone who has ever held the slightest fascination for the plant world and the many gifts it bestows.

5 out of 5 stars The Reunion by Laura Antoniou.......2007-01-04

After avidly reading through the first four Marketplace Series by Laura Antoniou, I got to the fourth book in her series, I found out she had another one that was published, and had to have it! This book really was fantastic in introducing more characters and following through each one's experiences, thoughts, fantasies, while on some vacation/Rest and Relaxation time. Chris Parker is at his best here! You, like me, when done with this part of the Marketplace Series, will want to know as soon as the next book, "The Inheritor" comes out! I was soooo impatient about that fact, that I even emailed the author, Laura Antoniou herself, and inquired if not already published, when the next book would be available for sale. My response from Laura, and I treasure it, was.... "As Chris Parker would say my dear, 'Be Patient'" I loved this book and am anxiously looking forward to the next in her series!

3 out of 5 stars Get your glasses upgraded.......2006-10-25

This is the fifth in the Marketplace series and it does not disappoint at all. The characters that we have come to love are all there and they are all entertaining us with Antoniou's amazing ability to build characters, suspense and story line. I loved all the books and would like to read a dozen more about the same people and system of taking people out of the normal world and inserting them into one of enslavement, sex and bondage. They are great. Reading about Robin and Chris hot and heavy in the sack made me have to go take a shower. You are rooting for them to find themselves and to satisfy each other through four previous books and this makes it all worth waiting for. Chris is one of the most complex and satisfying characters I have ever read about and each book leaves you wanting to know more and more about him and his relationship with the Trainer.

That being said, what is the deal with the editing of this whole series? It is more than a little annoying to have to try to figure out what is happening when words are left out, misspelled, misused and generally sloppy proofing makes you wish you could take Chris' strap to the publisher. And for crying out loud, what is the deal with this font size? I could hardly read it and it gave me a headache every time I tried. If you are worried about your book being too long, shorten it, don't reduce the font size until you can't read it. The book is not too long; you have an audience hooked on them that would read a book twice this long. Get a new editor, get a proofreader and get a font that is large enough for us to read!

Other than that, when is the next book coming out?

5 out of 5 stars Teh best so far in an excellent series.......2006-02-26

The Reunion is the best of the Marketplace series al of which are good. The two main characters from the rest of the series are Chris (trainer in service) and Robin (trying to decide whether to stay in or get out after her previous owner Monica fell for another woman and didn't renew). It isn't necessary to read the other books in the series first but I still recommend them as they are all very good reads. The Reunion is a weeks vacation for slaves, their SOs and children. This sounds a bit like one of those grade school papers "what I did on my summer vacation" but its nothing like that at all. Some of the characters include AL and Lloyd (xs) longtime lovers and friends of Lisa and Richard and their two kids Todd and Amy; Carol(xs) been out for 12 years and wants to get back in; Chandra(pleasure Slave), Azziz(trying out on the butler staff as a change from the Waiters') and Mackenzie (senior client and butler). The interwoven plots include these and more well drawn characters and includes Chris' and Robbins affair, Chris' recruiting Lord and Lady Southerby for the regents (to say that Lord Southerby is unenthused about being a slave for two years is a real understatement), and a paparazzi name of Nigel who is trying to get the goods on the market place. The characters are deftly handled as are the carefully interwoven plots. There is some humor here as when Chris says to Robin "you'll have to move over or I won't spank you when we get there." And the reaction to Chandra's pajama party. In the genre this is the book to measure all others by. Now if you don't like same sex sex, VBDSM, MS, Ds, or have problems with transsexual issues this may not be for you but it is very well written erotica and stands above the others even The Slave and Safe Word.

5 out of 5 stars She's a master.......2005-03-13

Laura Antoniou writes the most deeply gratifying erotica I have ever read. It is like nothing else that has ever been written. Her books have made me weep with gratitude. If she ever stopped writing, ten thousand lights would go out.

5 out of 5 stars Spooks make for an excellent read!.......2007-09-26

I enjoyed this book from the moment I began reading. It is filled with information touching on a myriad of subjects. Her use of the word Spooks tickled me, thinking to myself that our guides and protectors on the "other side" must have a wonderful sense of humor!! She and her family weave a rich tapestry of talented individuals with fascinating experiences. ( Her husband who is a dream interpreter I find particularly interesting. I could only hope that one day he would write a book on how he mastered the art of interpretation giving us a peek at how symbols speak to him.) I believe anyone reading this book will find Alice, her spooks, friends, clients and family most fun to read about. I'd love to have 30 minutes available to speak with Alice myself......it would be, I am sure, interesting, humorous, and most likely very informative.

5 out of 5 stars Mystic Alice And Her Spooks Really Deliver.......2007-05-30

Calls To Mystic Alice is a paperback trade book I found at a bookstore during a trip to Las Vegas. I enjoyed it so much that I put aside a new Sylvia Browne book to finish this one first.

Alice Rose Morgan is a senior citizen with a lively wit and some great stories to share. Alice has done readings for people (usually over the phone) for over 30 years. Her husband is a dream interpreter, her children are all psychic and her mother was also a psychic reader.

Alice is assisted in her readings by her guides. She calls them "Spooks" and says they don't mind her nickname for them. In this book Alice looks back on her career as a psychic reader and shares some of the most touching stories about contact with loved ones after death. She also covers the topics of reincarnation, searching for a soul mate, how to accept death without fear, what and how does karma work, overcome phobias and dream interpretation.

I found this book to be a funny, fast read that I just couldn't put down. I even carried it in my purse to read during trips to restaurants or move theaters (I hate the previews). What impressed me the most was how Alice was honest and willing to share the stories of her own family to illustrate the points she covers in the book. This book is a highly recommended read!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent book. .......2006-07-12

This book is a good read for the novice or knowledgeable person interested in the after-life, karma, what the future holds, and more. The writer is also quite humorous and I found myself laughing outloud on the airplane. Excellent book. I can't wait for the next.
