The author of Megan's Mark continues her PURRfectly paranormal series.
Lora Leigh's series about genetically-altered humans with feline DNA is turning into a roaring success. When the Breeds desire the passions of the flesh, they can't help but get frisky.

Harmony's Way.......2007-10-04
Another fabulous story by Lora Leigh. Great Romantica. I've probably purchased 10 or more of her books just this year in hard cover and electronic format.
Good Read.......2007-08-15
Megan's Mark is book #1 and good!
I enjoyed this one. It moves right along and Braden and Megan reappear in this one.
This is Harmony (AKA Death) and Sheriff Lance Jacobs story.
It was NOT raunchy. FYI
A Surprisingly Good Sequel.......2007-06-14
Second books in a series seem to be notorious for not measuring up, but Harmony's Way was every bit as good as Megan's Mark. Other's have made comments about loose ends, but all their questions were answered to my satisfaction. Some were insinuated, yes, and I enjoyed the author's respect for the readers' intelligence.
Another personal preference: I find LL's earlier writing for a different publishing house has little heart. It reads like sex for the purpose of slaking lust as opposed to a building relationship.
I bought this as a hardcover from my book club and I don't regret the money spent. I prefer this series and will re-read it in the future. Definitely a keeper.
I can't decide if I like this series yet, so I guess I'll just have to read more.......2007-05-29
Harmony's Way is another of Lora Leigh's stories about the Breeds and picks up with Megan's Mark left off, with Sheriff Lance Jacobs finally getting his chance at true love. Love comes in the form of a feline Breed assassin, Harmony Lancaster, who is also known as death. Harmony has a reputation for taking matters into her own hands when child abusers and abusive husbands are concerned. Her penchant for justice, quickness with a blade, and lack of remorse earned her the nickname Death. However, when Harmony meets Lance, she is nothing like the cold-blooded killer we have heard that she is, and instead becomes petty in the hands of Lance's alpha male ego.
I can't decide if I love or hate these Breed stories, and I guess I'll just have to keep reading them until I make up my mind. On one hand, I enjoy Lora Leigh's ability to write stories with strong alpha male heroes who, while dominant, realize that their mates are equals and treat them as such. I like that her heroines are take charge women who are just as able to go out and kick butt as the men they mate with. What I don't like is that the women seem to change the second they meet their mates. They're all guts and glory when we're hearing their back story and then they become petty in the hands of their chosen mate. Can't there be a happy medium? I'm all for these couples steaming it up in the bedroom with their men at the driver seat, but can't the women have equal control in their everyday life?
Harmony's Way proves, once again, that Lora Leigh knows how to write erotic fiction. She hasn't yet, however, learned how to write romance, and I think that there needs to be a balance between the two for these series to be successful.
I love this exciting series.....the Breeds are DarkHunters on Roids.......2007-04-21
Awesome! The two main characters were well developed and sexy as hell. Lance is a human, Sheriff, wind talker and gorgeous, fine Alpha. Harmony is an Assasine, a real Bad A, sweet, deadly and an anamole. I really enjoyed their dialogue. This series is very interesting and will make you salivate for the next installment. (Tanner's Scheme 08/07/07). The only thing minutely bothersome is the language. But, I am a grown women, so I read the scenes to my hubby and enjoyed my night. So, thanks Laura.

Success hasn't spoiled screenwriter Lou Calabrese -- it's just given her a taste for luxury. And it's put her in some bizarre situations -- like in a helicopter en route to the wilds of Alaska, sharing too-close quarters with the last man she wants to be with: Jack Townsend! Once a sexy nobody whom Lou helped make a somebody, Jack's just been dumped by a high-profile Hollywood airhead -- who's eloped with Lou's longtime love! So what else could go wrong?
Well...
Their pilot could try to shoot the most adored man in America. They could crash land in the icy, mountainous middle of nowhere. And at the worst possible moment, when survival should be their only consideration, Jack could start wondering if maybe he wasn't a wee bit too hasty for not giving this sexy screenwriter a second look -- while Lou could start noticing how superstar Jack is kind of hot after all ...

Customer Reviews:
If you love Susan E. Phillips- you will love this book. .......2007-08-08
You may know of her from her Princess Diaries series and be surprised to know that she also writes adult fiction and does so extremely well. If you're a fan of Jennifer Crusie or Mary Janice Davidson, this smart, sassy tale will definitely bring a smile to your face. Talk about ungrateful!!! After she wrote a movie for her actor boyfriend and made him into one of the biggest stars around, the rat has just run off with his co-star from said movie (maybe writing it wasn't such a good idea after all). To make matters worse the eloping boyfriend stealing starlet just happens to be the girlfriend of her arch nemesis, film star Jack Townsend. Then to throw the whole situation into the realms of farce she ends up crash landing in the icy wilds of Alaska with only Jack for company (hmm maybe someone's put a hex on her). After bickering and sniping their way through the snow, suddenly they're starting to see each other through a glaze of lust, though hopefully this insanity will wear off once they're back in civilization, which will never happen if the bunch of psychos chasing them down has their way. Craziness and high jinks abound in this fun, action packed romp, and you'll love the sparks flying between Jack and Lou.
great story and character.......2007-06-04
i love all meg cabot's books and this one will not disappointing at all. I really was hooked from the first page to the last. She has a captivating way to draw in the readers and making it involves with the story and characters. i love this book.
Did not finish the book.......2007-04-14
I can only comment on the first 150 pages of the book because I just could not bring myself to finish it. The story started slow at the beginning, and I thought about quitting at page 40. I decided to continue because I found some of the situations humorous. I did become more interested, but then got bored with the story again. I found it to be far fetched as some of the other reviewers had said. While like I said some of the parts were humourous, I was not draw to the characters. I especially found Lou hard to like.
This was my first Meg Cabot book, but I will definitely give some of her other books a try because I have seen good reviews on them.
She Went all the Way.......2007-03-13
In my opinion, this book started out really slow. In fact, I put this book aside after reading around forty pages and then picked it up again a few weeks later, determined to finish.
When I did pick it up again, though, I was quickly intrigued and I finished it in less than a day. Still, in my opinion it was only worthy of four stars. It seemed kind of far-fetched, and even though that is part of what I respect about Meg Cabot I thought that it could have been better.
Condition of the book.......2007-03-09
I thought the description online was very different from what it actually looked like. It was in a little worse condition than stated, but it's still readable!:)

Cooking Light Low-Fat Low Calorie Quick and Easy Cookbook.......2000-11-16
These recipes definately save fat, calories and time. The meals taste great and you don't feel like you are sacrificing on taste. Some recipes do take a little more time than the book states but they are well worth it. I also like that they break down the calories by what percent come from fat. I like the recipe tips offered in the book as well as how the book is broken down by desserts, meatless, fish, etc. This is a winner which I will send to my friends.

Book Description
This book seeks to give form to a theology that hyphenates two traditions that have not only been in constant conflict during most of their historical encounters but are also presented as opposite blocks in the threatening `clash of civilizations' at the beginning of the third millennium: Islam and Christianity. Based on experiences of dialogue between the three Abrahamic faiths, this book analyzes historical and contemporary processes of interreligious dialogue between Christians and Muslims in order to arrive at a concept of dialogue as `mutual emulation.' It shows how, in their theologies of religious others, Judaism, Christianity and Islam have based their images of others on their self-images. This characteristic makes traditional theologies of religion quite unsuitable for interreligious dialogue. Consequently, the author of this book develops a model in which comparative theology and interreligious dialogue are connected by studying - as a Christian theologian - the theological and spiritual sources of his Muslim dialogue partners. These exercises in comparative Muslim-Christian theology comprise both the medieval (Aquinas, al-Ghazali, Rumi) and the modern periods (Said Nursi, Fethullah Gulen, Tariq Ramadan). An interlude on Teresa of Avila's poem 'Nada te turbe' shows how Christians may recover important insights from their own tradition by reading these Muslim theological and spiritual sources.

Loved the book so much that I had to read the 1st & 2nd series...........2006-08-31
I loved the book so much that I didnt realize that there were previous books. So I read the first 2 and loved them so much. Made me wonder if this book was the 4th book becuz there was a gap between arriving to San Francisco from Boston. I felt that there should have been a 3rd book to describe her travels as all her books has done. But other than that, I just loved the series. But if Ann Moore does decide to put in the 3rd book... I will rush to buy it.
I loved it!.......2006-06-15
First off, it had been so long since I had read the first two books, that I had to skim through the second to get the story straight in my mind again.
I could have done without a lot of the Sean storyline, but otherwise I was so pleased with the conclusion. I actually cheered out loud when...well, if you've read the book, I think you all know when!
Outstanding Finale To The Gracelin O'Malley Trilogy.......2005-10-17
Having thoroughly enjoyed the first two entries (Gracelin O'Malley and Leaving Ireland) I was eagerly anticipating the finale, yet fearful that the magic Anne Moore had created in the first two could not be sustained. Thankfully, I was wrong and, in fact, I felt this was the best of the series.
The story picks up four years after the second book and our strong-willed, dedicated heroine has left New York and journeyed to San Francisco to wed Captain Peter Reinders and secure a future for her children. John Paul Morgan McDonagh (now known as Jack), the son she thought had died, has been returned to her, and with him and daughter Mary Kate she arrives in San Francisco. Mary Kate's illness leads them to a hospital where they meet Doctor Wakefield, a man who will change the lives of all of them as will Gracelin change his.
Their story is riveting and filled with love, loss, redemption and best of all, a happy ending. The three major characters from the previous novels---Gracelin, Sean, and Morgan---each have a story to tell, an adventure to follow, and the reader is breathless as the characters lead lives of quiet desperation, struggling to find each other in the New World.
Set in the 1800's, just before the outbreak of the American Civil War, slavery is an issue as Gracelin uncovers a long-hidden past and in her own spirited way, sets things right again. Not only slavery, but Chinese culture, a blossoming San Francisco built on the hopes of gold diggers, and the plight of the American Indians are all covered and woven into the tapestry of Gracelin's life.
Anne Moore has given us unforgettable characters, historical events with a personal face, and a story that will not be soon forgotten. For fans of the indomitable Gracelin O'Malley, this is the fitting end to the story of a remarkable woman.
The third and last, sad to have it end........2005-07-01
Oh how sad I was to close this book! This is the last in the Gracelin O'Malley series, as hard as that was to accept. :-)
It follows Gracelin and her family as they travel through America to finally settle in San Francisco. It is chock full of surprises and will not disappoint. It is a must read. As I said in previous reviews, I have already purchased 5 copies of the books to give to friends and relatives. Excellent book!
good but not great.......2005-04-13
I was in love with Ann Moore's two previous books.
I was dissapointed with this one. It felt as though she rushed it. So much more story could have been told- elaborated upon.
Though a happy ending for it's characters, it was a bit neatly wrapped in the end for me.

Lacked depth.......2007-08-06
The premise of this book, poor girl falls for man she doesn't know is rich was fine...but....
A. There was no real depth to the story
B. Couldn't connect to any of the characters
C. To the point too fast (not descriptive enough), you couldn't get a good feel of the surroundings.
D. Did not engross the reader and was VERY predictable.
Honestly I only finished the book because I spent the money buying it.
Terrible. I skipped around and then ended up reading the end........2007-05-09
I read Close to You and loved it! so I decided to go backwards and read the other two prescott sisters stories. I never should have bothered. The interesting characters and well thought out plot line found in Tonue in chic was glaringly missing in this book. The herione was complete milktoast...and I really really hate the whole relationship built on a lie storyline. Come on, really...does any relationship like that really work. NO. I did the speed read version of this book. Sighing in relief when it was over. Too bad there is not a satisfaction guarantee on some of these books. $7 is a lot to waste on nonsense like this one. Skip the first two prescott books...go straight to Tongue in chic and read Christina Dodd from there. It is obvious her writing has greatly improved over the years. Her new stuff is great.
Excellant authoress.......2007-03-19
I love reading her books. You feel you actually know the characters.
More PLEASE.......2005-10-20
I loved this book... and the desire it gave ME to feel that kind of instant attraction and love again. I was a bit upset at the ending, as it felt rushed, but I am looking forward to the next in this series.
My only negative remark, if you would consider it negative, is that I was NOT ready for the story to end. It left me wanting more of Zack and Hope!
Good book for rainy days.......2005-09-05
Christina writes enjoyable books. Very easy to read and enjoy.
Sometimes the characters are weak or just the opposite, strong.
I will continue to read future books.

Within Tibetan Buddhism, there is a little-known discipline called Dzogchen, the turbo path to liberation. In some traditions, the path to liberation extends over lifetimes of diligent practice, but Dzogchen is an accelerated way to achieve self-perfection. After many years of formal study, Chogyal Namkhai Norbu was initiated into this less-formal practice, which is one of the highest yet most accessible of Tibetan Buddhist teachings. Namkhai Norbu eventually made his way to Italy to teach, where John Shane transcribed and translated Namkhai Norbu's lectures, putting together what is now one of the most popular books on Dzogchen. Namkhai Norbu makes it clear that these teachings are not a handbook for practice but rather an overview of Dzogchen, notably its three divisions: the base, the path, and the fruit. The ultimate and immediate goal is to achieve the primordial state of non-dual awareness, the one taste, and to maintain it. With colorful anecdotes from his own experience (finding an ancient text manifested in a dream, for example, and visiting eccentric cave yogis), Namkhai Norbu's teachings illustrate that Dzogchen is not just theory but the way to a new, and almost incomprehensible, way of being. --Brian Bruya
Book Description
Chogyal Namkhai Norbu examines the sprirtual path from the viewpoint of Dzogchen.
Customer Reviews:
His best.......2007-03-22
This is perhaps Norbu's best and most fun book. It has enough of the magical and wonderful in it to give hope to all who read it. We all have to live our own lives. It is great to be able to read a book of good tidings and hope such as Norbu has done here. Some people have great missions in life, and it seems that writing a great book such as this is Norbu's.
great read.......2007-01-14
if you find the subject at all interesting, then i suggest that you read everything namkhai norbu writes about dzogchen
An accessible work of genius .......2006-11-19
As a practitioner of Dzogchen, following the traditional way of guidance and personal practice under a master of that practice, I found this book to be a tremendous help to me. With its concise presentation of the Buddhist paths of Sutra, Tantra, and Dzogchen and the similarities and differences between them, plus wonderfully helpful advice and explanations that will be extremely valuable to someone already having some experience with Dzogchen practice, this book is the best overview I've found yet. Dzogchen is a teaching that is neither magic nor mysticism nor within the domain of scholars - it is simply a teaching to show one how to discover one's true condition, which is the state of Dzogchen, or Great Perfection, itself from the very beginning. Our job is simply to apprehend that state and then, through the use of methods introduced to us by a master, remain in that condition until it is fully and permanently revealed. So, if you would like to know a little at least about what this Dzogchen business is even about, this book will give you a brilliantly concise-yet-thorough and accessible presentation of the most fundamental things you'd need to know before going any further, but its true import can only ever really be comprehended after receiving introduction, in person, from a master. Once you've had some personal experience and the ideas in this book are no longer just ideas, that's when the book's preciousness is actually evident. The Dzogchen path is a vastly profound yet very relaxed, lighthearted, vibrant, and non-dogmatic path concerned with actual experience above all, and Namkhai Norbu is a perfect embodiment of that.
"Into the Lion's Mouth!".......2005-06-21
Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche is a spiritual genius, representing a beautiful and potent spiritual tradition: Dzogchen, or the Great Perfection. This text is an approachable, concise introduction to Rinpoche's teaching and his person, and is valuable as such, even though there really isn't much room here for Rinpoche's genius to broadcast itself en masse.
This text has the advantage of being neither faux-new-age mush nor happy-doodle marketplace Dharma. It makes certain demands on the reader (such as holding a certain amount of precise terminology in mind), but also gives the reader plenty of help keeping it together and in perspective (charts, illustrations, and an index). So, it gives you as gentle an introduction to the Great Perfection one can without doing violence to it.
I just love this author and I am very grateful for his writings. May he live long and his work flourish!
Good, but no where near his best.......2004-12-31
There aren't that many good Dzogchen books available. One of the most prolific writers on the subject is Namkhai Norbu (I've read 9 of his books). His books are very readable and include important descriptions, insights, etc. They serve as, perhaps, the best introductory books (except for the wonderful "Supreme Source" which is more advanced). I also prefer "The Mirror" and "The Cycle of Day and Night" to "The Crystal and the Way of Light." Other books of his of similar value to this one include: "Dream Yoga & the Practice of Natural Light," "Dzogchen and Zen," "Dzogchen: the Self-Perfected State," "The Small Collection of Hidden Precepts" (Manjusrimitra), "and "Teachings of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu." However, I would also recommend the books of Tulku Urgyen which seem a bit more advanced than most of these (e.g. "Rainbow Painting" and "As It Is"). Also, the works of Tulku Urgyen's sons, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche ("The Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen" and "Present Fresh Wakefulness") and Drubwang Tsoknyi Rinpoche ("Fearless Simplicity" and "Carefree Dignity"). Also, try some Kagyu Mahamudra books such as Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche's or the wonderful commentaries on Karma Chagme's "The Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen" (one is listed above) such as "Naked Awareness."
Book Description
Within is a masterful assembly of the most personal details and gorgeous minutiae of Frank Sinatra's way of living--matters of the heart and heartbreak, friendship and leadership, drinking and cavorting, brawling and wooing, tuxedos and snap-brims--all crafted from rare interviews with Sinatra himself as well as many other intimates, including Tony Bennett, Don Rickles, Angie Dickinson, Tony Curtis, and Robert Wagner, in addition to daughters Nancy and Tina Sinatra. Illustrated with scores of photos, The Way You Wear Your Hat captures the timeless romance and classic style of the fifties and the loose sixties and is a stunning exploration of the Sinatra mystique.
Customer Reviews:
Great guide for living life like it should be lived.......2007-10-09
This book takes a turn away from Sinatra the Musician, and focuses on Sinatra the Man. Sure, he had a temper. Which one of us doesn't? Sure, he made some mistakes in his life. Which one of us hasn't? The flaws that FS had were overshadowed by the good qualities, with one that stands out in particular - LOYALTY. He stood by his friends just as fiercely as he stood up to his enemies.
This book doesn't take the angle of a biography like so many others do. It only gets into biographical details as they relate to how Frank lived his life. It's full of great stories told by his friends and family on how Frank lived his life. It was a different time, and while all the specifics may not apply to today, the ideals are still very relevant. Everybody should take a least a page from Frank's life through this book, and apply it to their own life.
A flower's not a flower if it's wilted.

Frank rules..................2007-01-10

"Cock your hat- angles are attitudes"~Frank Sinatra
The Way You Wear Your Hat:Frank Sinatra and the Lost Art of Livin'.......2006-11-10

The Man!.......2006-09-15
If I could trade places with anyone in history in would be Frank Sinatra.
This book shows you the man and his unmatched charm, wit, and his overwelliming appeal, not just to beautiful woman but to everyone he met.
I opened it and read it it one sitting.
If you are a Sinatra fan,you gotta read this, and then read it again.
However,it does help if you have some background of Sinatra to appreciate it fully.
Loved it!!!
If You Don't Want to Hear Any More About Sinatra..........2005-08-18
...don't read the dang book!
Sinatra's place in our cultural history is so much admired, to the point of worship, that one group tolerates no criticism of him at all. And there are those just as happy to see anything which demolishes his legend, taking him down to the petty, nasty, egomaniacal person he was.
This book fits much more into the first category, for sure. Lots of pictures. A whole chapter titled "Broads."
So, what's not to like? Sinatra was not as nasty a father as, say, Bing Crosby, but he is quoted in the book as saying this:
"You've got to hug your kids. Kids ought to be hugged and kissed and all that good stuff. You have to stay close to them closer than ever. You must give them affection and love, or they break away."
Some swinger, eh?
Book Description
He has a way with women...
Thomas Ashe, the brooding Viscount Blackfield, is a man any lady would shun. But Patience Harrington, try as she might, has never been a proper lady. Her bumbled London season left her with no marital prospects and no recourse but to accept her father's invitation to travel to gloomy Blackfield Castle. Surely, spending a few nights in the presence of priceless antiques and a devilish viscount can't be as bad as facing the ton gossip.
Focused solely on his secret government project, Thomas cares little for the valuable antiques he's recently inherited. The troublesome young woman who has come to assess them, however, stirs his senses in every way. Patience is a distraction Thomas can ill afford – a beautiful temptation that makes him ache with desire. For a spy is threatening to destroy all he has built, and Patience is hiding something. With so much at stake, Thomas must do whatever it takes to seduce the truth from Patience's lips before lives – and his own heart – are lost.

COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER.......2006-11-05
The story line was interesting, but the characters left a lot to be desired. It just dragged on without much meaning or romance.
I could barely get to the end fast enough.
BORING.......2006-06-28
I read romance to escape like everyone else the drudgery that which is the everyday. Boy, was I disappointed, sorry but she is definitely not a skilled writer because the characters were 1 demensional and plot and dialogue so cliche I was fighting to stay awake. And the sensual scenes? What sensual scenes??? No romance, no plot, and no sensuality.
Sweet Romance.......2006-06-01
I love Anne Mallory novels and this one had the mix of romance and mystery. It was a little less steamy but I loved the social lessons. The main female character goes to the Viscounts castle to collect items for the museum with team of specialist. She hears rumors about a 'monster' so she starts investigating and the Viscount thinks she is a spy! Sparks fly - Enjoy.
Wanted to give it 5.......2006-04-03
I wanted this book to be a 5 star one, but little things kept it from being that for me. I loved the story and, as always, the writer got the hero right. Thomas was everything a romance novel hero should be. Patience, the heroine, fared a little worse. I lost some patience with her. At times, she bordered dangerously close to TSTL territory for me. I found her social blunders a little monotonous. She surely should have known what to say and how to behave. Just a minor quibble, but it did bother me. Also, things seemed a bit rushed. Just when Thomas and Patience seemed to be getting somewhere, poof!, the scene was over. I felt the transitions were a bit rough. All in all, I liked this book, but felt the characters were not developed as much as they should have been, and the pacing seemed a little off. It was sort of like--Gothic Light.
fun gothic historical romance .......2006-03-29
Patience Harrington has never been able to behave to the standard of the Ton. So when she fumbles her Season, Patience is left with one option offered by her father. She is to visit ominous Blackfield Castle to appraise and catalogue the antiques.
Viscount Blackfield, Thomas Ashe, does not want any visitors especially one as distracting as the lovely Patience even for a few nights. He wants her to leave, but she refuses insisting she will first finish her task of assessing the antiques he inherited even though he does not seem to care about anything except brooding and glaring at her. In reality, Thomas struggles to stay focused on uncovering who endangers so many lives. Still for the first time since he became a spy, Thomas is unable to keep alert and concentrate on his inquiries as he desires Patience who he believes has been sent by his enemy to spy on him. Perhaps he can kiss the truth out of her lips.
This is a fun gothic historical romance that uses amusing scenarios to refresh and lighten the usual serious tone of the sub-genre. Thomas is out of patience with his desire that he fears hides his unwanted guest's nefarious activities while Patience ponders whether her host is the Frankenstein monster. Fans will enjoy this gender war starring two terrific combatants who misconceive everything about the other except love.
