Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Customer Reviews:
Well written for a kid's book.......2007-07-10
I picked this up expecting a clumsy, second-rate children's fantasy on the order of Eragon. I was proven wrong within the first few pages; I couldn't put this book down!
Barron manages a well-thought-out and surprisingly-sophisticated fantasy adventure rivaling some adult fare that's out there. And while he borrows some classic themes, characters and plot elements from archetypal mythology and other fantasy epics (such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Earthsea), at the very least the references are subtle and well-done (unlike Eragon, in which the plot is very obviously a medieval version of Star Wars IV: A New Hope). He also includes strong political, social and religious undertones that might well be commentary on the present day.
Child of the Dark Prophecy tells the tale of three young people who prove vital to the survival of their world, the magical, tree-shaped realm of Avalon. The beginning outlines neatly the backstory from Barron's Merlin series, and the prophecy made by the fabled Lady of the Lake (that a child will be born who will bring about the fall of Avalon and only Merlin's true heir can stop him), and introduces the heroes: Scree, an boy who can turn into an eagle creature at will, who is entrusted with Merlin's staff; his adoptive brother Tamwyn, who is certain he is the dark child of the prophecy and has been searching desperately for his missing brother; and Elli, a slave girl-turned-Drumadian Priestess who meets Tamwyn while escorting the spoiled, self-centered, soon-to-be head of her order to see the Lady of the Lake. Before long, they are drafted by the Lady herself to find Merlin's staff and stop an evil sorcerer from creating a powerful artifact capable of bringing an even-more-evil god to Avalon.
While the plot is complicated, it's not overwhelming, and the characters are engaging; Tamwyn brings to mind both Luke Skywalker and Harry Potter, being the conflicted hero who is still unsure whether he is good or evil, desperate to find the family he has left and the father he never knew, and far too trusting in the Lady's prophecy (like Harry in the fifth and sixth books, he will not listen to advice that a prophecy is not necessarily the final word on the future and can be changed). Yet, he also has a bit of Han Solo and Ron Weasley in him; he's a bit roguish, spending most of his time acting as a wilderness guide, and is a total klutz (for which he is mercilessly teased by his companions).
Some of the minor characters are great to read about as well (like Nuic, Elli's companion, a pretentious-yet-wise little mountain sprite with a sharp tongue and centuries of knowledge on everyone else. Fans of the Dresden Files may be reminded of Harry's caustic, ghostly companion Bob).
Barron's religious undertones are mostly in their infancy in Child of the Dark Prophecy, but we are introduced to the conflict between the Drumadians (an order founded by Merlin's mother and sister who bring to mind Wicca and other non-mainstream nature-based belief structures with their respect for all forms of life and harm none philosophy) and a new sect lead by a seemingly-good priest, reminiscent of Order of the Phoenix's wicked Professor Umbridge, living near the Lady of the Lake (who seems to think that humans are superior to all other creatures and therefore what's best for us is best for everyone, even if that means killing others or destroying their home and culture... a commentary on the occupancy of Iraq, perhaps?)
J.K. Rowling may get all the credit for reinventing the intermediate section of the bookstore for parents as well as their pre-teens, but she's not the only one who can spin a good yarn that both adults and kids will like.
VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN-not appropriate for intended age group.......2007-01-19
Unfortunately, I was unable to get past the first chapter because I was so disgusted and angered by the intensely obscene violent reference toward the very first female character introduced in the book. This reference was highly INNAPROPRIATE for the intended age group: smashing her baby on the rocks so he could rape the mother holding the child. Gratuitous and completely unnecessary. Makes me wonder about the author, although his credentials look good on paper! Disgusting. Will never take the chance with him again and will certainly not allow my boys to read his work.
totally aweome.......2007-01-06
I completely and honestly disagree with J. Austin ( a reviewer above )this book was amazing. The great tree of Avalon had hidden meanings, developed characters and setting, and actually does make a good statement about caring for the environment. Also, how can the author be being preachy if it is written through the eyes of characters in the book? Its not like he is actually saying "we should care for the environment" Fantasy lovers like books of unique animals and deep dark mystery. also the author makes a statement about caring for the environment just by having such an unusual setting. It shows that with so many creatures living in one place you should respect them all including the trees land and water. I am a total fantasy fanatic and I loved Harry Potter, Ella Enchanted, Of two Minds, and Both Sides of Time (all great books by the way) and I respect your opinion about not liking the book J. Austin but I don't understand how you can like fantasy books and not like this one, complete fantasy. I don't think your reasons are very valid either. You must not be a fantasy fanatic. But anyone out there if you are a ff then this book is totally awesome. Don't forget any of my other previously mentioned books! -emy
Child of the Dark Prophecy.......2006-11-22
This story is about a seventeen year old boy who needs to save his world from an evil dark sorceror. Tamwyn, the main character, is brave, adventurous, clumsy, and sort of unlucky. He's brave and adventurous because he protects his friends and does what's right, most of the time, plus he likes to explore his world. He is very clumsy and is seems to be that every time it talks about him he is tripping over things which puts some humor into the book. Tamwyn is sort of unlucky, he's like a black cat, everywhere he goes something bad happens either to the people or the town. This leads him to think that he is the prophesized Dark Child that is supposed to bring the end to Avalon, his world. I could really connect with the author's characters. It seemed like I was in the story with them. I've read T.A. Barron's 'The Lost Year's of Merlin' series and I enjoyed both that series and this book. I look forward to reading his other books about Avalon. This book is for grades 6-10. Its a great action adventure book and I highly recommend it.
YAY! The best book EVER!!!.......2006-09-27
It's a really good book for you book gobblers out there like me. But I stress: IT IS NOT THE SEQUEL TO THE LOST YEARS OF MERLIN!!! That is a completly different sereis by the same author, although it has the same sorta "king aurther" time period. TA Barron is a exelent writer (ya, he's up there with Chistopher Paolini from Eragon) and I suggest this book who wants aventure, romance, and humor. (Plus, you gotta love fantasy!)
Customer Reviews:
Well at least it fits into my bookcase.......2000-04-30
When reading a commercial tie-in, it would be unfair to expect any great literary triumph, but I endured the entire trilogy expecting, at least, to learn a little more about White Wolf's World of Darkness, and to be told a complete story. Silly me!
What we get in the books isn't too bad, it just that it could have been a lot better. The globetrotting plot fails to capture any of the flavors of its European Settings and Fleming's heavy-handed handling of the prophecy elements of the story detracts from its whole. It also suffers from a very poor ending.
However, the characters are fun, the story is well paced, the action suitably violent, and Fleming obviously knows his stuff about the World of Darkness. If you are playing "Vampire The Masquerade" I would recommend it, but if you are a Storyteller don't expect too much inspiration from it.
A good ending to a fairly good trilogy.......1999-01-29
Much of this novel was redundant... just repeated information from the first two novels. In a way, I see the nessecity of this to remind the reader who the characters are and why they are how they are but it gets really old, really fast. All-in-all, I loved the whole trilogy and the introduction of Montrevant from the Grail's Covenant Trilogy was a masterfully nice touch. Good Job, Gherbod.

The USA has turned its back on God.......2005-07-15
Amazing detail and, from what I can see, accuracy. The subject of biblical prophecy is probably the most difficult to discuss. Not only for its complexity, but because there are so many people ready to shoot any theory down. Those who know "The Way" know better and agree with the author.
The book was extermely complex and rich with scripture and I kept the Bible at my side the whole time I read this book.
Job well done. I have ordered his second book, "The Second Moses."

Book Description
In the pages of this revealing book, the secret "Plan" of the New Age Movement is exposed for the first time in startling detail. Basing the book on an in-depth investigation of the Movement, author Texe Marrs includes over 600 actual quotes from New Age leaders which unveil their "Plan" for establishing a New Age Messiah to lead a One-World Religion and a global government. As part of the "Plan," the Movement intends to wage a total spiritual war against Christian believers. Their ultimate goal? To eliminate every vestige of Christianity.
This is the most complete and well-documented book ever published about the New Age Movement. It shows exactly what is now being done by the New Age leadership to gain influence in every facet of society, from the entertainment industry to public schools and government. Marrs details specifically the New Age Plan to win over the next generation by flooding the media--TV cartoon shows, movies, comic books, libraries, etc.--with material that promotes New Age religious thinking and doctrine. Finally, Marrs shows how New Age ideas have already begun to infiltrate and undermine Christian churches from within.
Dark Secrets of the New Age is a sobering expos of the alarming New Age Movement with an urgent message for every believing Christian.

Recommended Pre-Requisite: Being a Christian........2006-02-25
If your a fundamentalist Christian or Evangelical this is the book for you. This book will speak volumes to your soul.
This book is ultimatley, all true. There are many New Age leaders and groups, they have agenda's and beliefs, and they are advancing and shaping our culture and world. Even some of the new age leader do hate relligion to the point of trying to destroy it (even if by violence) And Christians do (should) believe everything this book says.
However, Whether or not Christianity is real, or if the New Age is going to end up taking over the world and everyones going to become a demi-god...Is up to the reader.
For the non believer, this book is an interesting and factual read into the beliefs and conflict between two relligious groups if taken into a non personal context.
So befor for ordering, you better ask yourself...How's your faith?
When Truth is Proclaimed those Ensnared will Scoff.......2006-02-06
I dislike labeling any subject as a "Conspiracy" whereas the vision of a wild-eyed fanatic is immediately attached. Sometimes however, that is the best term to use and accurately applies to the New Age. Having spent much time in the ministry, authoring articles worldwide and a website dedicated to unmasking the movement, I can vouch for the authenticity of the content found in this book. The New Ager will only interpret bigotry and narrow-minded philosophies propagated in material such as this. I can understand and do sympathize. However, the truth must be proclaimed so that error may be illuminated. The ancient lord of the lost has used these methodologies unveiled from the beginning of mankind, branded by many different labels. Lucifer has not had to change his strategies, for they work perfectly. The unenlightened whose eyes are veiled, who follow the system, are woefully ignorant of the poison they drink. Enough mother earth 'sugar' is added to disguise the taste of deception. Texe Marrs valiantly exposes the satanic ploy of old and dismantles it one brick at a time.
Intriguing Book.......2002-04-16
His critics dismiss Texe Marrs with the label "Fundamentalist Christian." So be it. But at least he takes a stand. At least he reads the Bible of his faith. At least he applies it to the world around him.
I like Marrs' books. They have the excitement of conspiracy theory. But grounded in Bible study. If you don't believe in the Bible (or are afraid your friends will think you're a nut if you do) you probably won't like his books. But if you're into Bible prophecy, and use the Christian Bible to guide your life, then I think you'll appreciate Marrs' perspective.
I'll admit, I try not to put any Christian writer on a pedestal. God is still the definitive Author. But there's a place for writers who use the Bible to comment on current events. I appreciate the work they do. Especially when it prompts me to go back and read Bible passages they've pointed out.
So, Mr. Marrs: I thank you for taking so much flak, yet still keeping the faith. And I eagerly await your next book.
Scary (should actually be 0 stars).......2001-04-21
I can't believe that there are people out there mindless enough to believe this. For those who do, sorry to disappoint you, there is no conspiracy. The author has no understanding of what "new agers" are like. I was always taught that books held knowledge, imagine my disappointment when I read thru this! If only open mouths came w/open minds...
In short, don't waste your hard earned money. If you absolutely must, then educate yourself on the so called "new age" and have an unbiased opinion.
I Once Believed It... Now I'm Embarrassed.......2000-09-01
I read this about 12 years ago when I was much younger and very trusting in anything the local Christian bookstore provided. I actually fell for the whole thing. I also fell for "88 Reasons Why the Rapture will Happen in 1988" at the same time. So you can imagine the paranoia I was going through (is that a fruit of the Spirit? Yeah, right...).
Bottom line is: I was a clueless sheep, and there are many out there that still are. You have a right to read anything you want (including this stuff), but please use some discernment.

Book Description
1796. These explanations of scriptural prophecy are illustrated by the application of present important events. These thoughts were published with the purest intentions and the author's only aims are to serve the interests of Christianity, to promote the welfare of his countrymen and the common cause of humanity, by inviting men to consider the signs of the times; that, as individuals, and as a nation, we may examine our ways, repent and reform. Due to the age and scarcity of the original we reproduced, some pages may be spotty, faded or difficult to read. Written in Old English.
