Journey of Souls is a controversial yet inspiring investigation of the big question we all face at one point or another: "What happens after we die?" To find the answer, Newton opens cases from his private practice in which he hypnotically regressed his clients to a point between lives--after death, but before birth. Not only does Newton grapple with reincarnation, the spirit world, and the nature of the human soul, he also tackles equally sticky questions such as "Is there a Heaven and Hell?" and "What are ghosts?" Readers with a penchant for skepticism will balk at the lack of physical evidence to back up the claims in Journey of Souls, but the book remains a reassuring voice, affirming that our existence is not limited to the boundaries of our mortal flesh. --Brian Patterson

Journey Of Souls.......2007-10-05
There is one major difference between Dr. Newton's work compared to Dr. Weiss' work: Newton focusses on the time and activities of a soul in between lifes on Earth, while Weiss reports on the healing aspect of past life regression. There is actually not much overlap in the work of these two authors as far as I can tell (I know two of Newton's books and four or so of Dr. Weiss).
This book is a fairly easy read. Michael's language is clear and easy to understand. He clearly states his points, sometimes muses on his own interpretation of the data, but never goes off on a tangent.
The entire book is more or less centered around 29 case studies, i.e. subjects he hypnotized and regressed to their times in between lifes on Earth. Michael does start out demonstrating how a soul leaves the body at death and what happens next, and also when appropriate shows details of the previous lifes of his patients, but the focus is definitely on the activites in the soul plane. The book is very nicely structured both by the different stages upon entering and leaving the soul plane, as well as by advancement level of soul. He uses each case study to illustrate either a different stage, soul activity, or advancement level. There are chapters that explain the purpose of guides, what soul mates are, and how a new life and body are chosen.
Now, how about actually believing this? I do not have personal experience with past life regression. I know people who do. The concept of reincarnation makes a lot of sense to me, and I do not actually question the validity of it. What Michael's subjects are reporting to him in trance does effectively sound like Science Fiction often times. I was at first put off by the idea of a structured organization in the soul plane that does not sound that much different from life on Earth. That souls advance by learning both on Earth and in the soul plane in study groups. That there are advanced soul beings that are facilitating the soul activites. That advanced soul beings are guiding souls and (in some respect) judging the soul's performance. This all just sounds so un-divine.
Nevertheless, a lot of it sounds fantastic in a positive sense. The idea that souls have incarnated on other planets. That the more advanced souls experiment with creation. How souls start connecting with the brains of their assigned baby. There is a lot of content here that will amaze you! I recommend this book to folks that already believe in reincarnation (otherwise you may find Dr. Weiss' books a better introduction) and are interested in what may be happening between lifes. Especially Dr. Newton's second book offers a lot more detail on all the topics covered here.
Do you find life frustrating and meaningless?.......2007-09-11
Have you ever wondered why we are here? What is our purpose? Who are we supposed to be with? What is the point?
This courageous book attempts to answer these questions through the ambitious effort of hypnotic recall through past-life therapy. Given the level of commitment and the consistency of the responses, Michael Newton paints a very credible picture of where we have come from, where we are going and why that answers many other questions of time and space.
It's a fascinating read for those with an open mind, and provides thought-provoking comfort to those who currently find life frustratingly meaningless.

This is an AMAZING documentation of subjects, each sharing insight to "life" after "life", spirit world, and each encouter is similar yet different. I would recommend this book to anyone who is intereted in the "after-life", rebirth, reincarnation.
I give all of Michael Newton's works 10 STARS!!.......2007-08-11
As someone who's spent the last 35 years uncovering and writing about my own past lives, and studying how the karma from each of them has played out in the events and relationships of my present life, I suppose I bring something of a unique perspective to Dr Michael Newton's extraordinary trilogy, "Journey of Souls," "Destiny of Souls," and "Life Between Lives." Even after uncovering three of my own historically identifiable, though far from famous, past personas, I was still frustrated that neither I, nor any of the writers I had consulted seem to be able to throw any light on the issue of what happens to us between lifetimes.
But then, I discovered the works of Michael Newton, arguably the most important and most fascinating accounts of this entire genre. By directing the focus of his subjects away from their subconscious and toward their super-conscious, it seems Dr Newton succeeded in accessing a spiritual dimension previously untapped by the vast majority of researchers in this field. Once there, he was able to painstakingly document over many years what is undoubtedly one of the most comprehensive, detailed and believable models of what takes place in the afterlife anyone has ever put forward. Most importantly, it portrays in very convincing terms just how each of us goes about planning and designing our future lives. And once we absorb such a concept it becomes difficult for anyone to fail to take responsibility for their own lives, even with all its challenges and disappointments.
As fate would have it, I discovered Newton's works just after reading "Same Soul, Many Bodies" by the prolific Dr Brian Weiss. In it he discusses his experiences with "future life progression" as a technique for inspiring and motivating patients to change the directions of their lives by revealing the potentialities awaiting them in future incarnations, if they can just make the right choices in the here-and-now.
Comparing the claims of Dr Weiss with those of Dr Newton seemed to leave me with something of a paradox, which was namely this: If Dr Newton was correct that when we die we return to the spiritual realm to take on the work of planning and designing our next life, how would it be possible for Dr Weiss to explore our future lives while we are still alive, since the planning process had not taken place yet?
To resolve this conundrum I decided to have a chat with my spirit guide, Prakash. He first reminded me that linear time is only an operable construct in the physical dimension, and that from the perspective of the spiritual realm all physical incarnations co-exist simultaneously in a moment of eternity. Therefore, it follows that all those between life episodes that Dr Newton describes likewise exist in that same simultaneous eternity. The only reason is seems confusing is because Dr Newton is exploring and reporting what appears to be a linear sequence of lives and their related planning episodes, which necessarily skews his perspective due to his viewing the information from his location here in this dimension of linear time.
This gave me an idea. From all of my past lives that I have explored over the last three decades, two have stood out as closely related, even though they were separated by 700 years. The first was my life as Genghis Khan's nephew Yegu, and the second was my life as Field Marshall Count Helmuth von Moltke (the younger), nephew of von Moltke (the elder), his uncle and namesake, the military genius and hero of the Franco-Prussian War who helped Bismarck unite the German Empire. In the first life the plan for me to succeed my uncle Genghis failed, but in the second I did succeed my uncle as Chief of the German General Staff prior to and during the initial phases of WW I. As you might suspect, von Moltke (the elder) was a reincarnation of Genghis Khan.
What occurred to me is that exploring the planning stages of these two incarnations in tandem would provide a rare opportunity to see this whole planning process at its most complex. Fortunately, Dr Newton's third book, "Life Between Lives" was designed as something of a do-it-yourself training manual for just such explorations. So I guess that will be my next project.

Inspiring and Insightful.......2007-08-08
I really liked this book. It was fascinating, compelling and by offering the clinical proof most of us need to believe in any kind of life after death, it was also suprisingly comforting. It's such a good read, once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down. Once you finish, you won't be able to avoid searching for answers about your own past lives. Definitely two thumbs up.

Since its original publication in 1995, Leading with Soul has inspired thousands of readers. Far ahead of its time, the book bravely revealed the path to leadership to be a very personal journey requiring a knowledge of self and a servant-leader mentality. Now, in this new and revised edition, authors Bolman and Deal address such currrent issues as the changing nature of work, the new face of today's workforce, and the greater need for an infusion of soul in the workplace. They also include real-life stories from readers of the first edition, and answer key questions that those readers raise. As vital as ever, this revisted narrative of an executive and his quest for deeper meaning continues to point the way to a more fulfilling work experience.

Saccharine for the Soul.......2007-07-12
First, a disclaimer -- I'm an atheist, so a book that regularly refers to concepts like "soul" and "prayer" wasn't perfect for me.
That said, as a former partner in an international management consulting firm I've had to wade through many poorly written management and advice books. Among those, this stands out for being particularly vapid. The conceit of being a work of fiction that teaches allows the authors to ignore the need for research or data. The fictional account also allows them to avoid taking any repsonsibility for presenting alternate viewpoints or expressing doubt.
Most management books have a theme that could have been confined to a ten page article, which the authors instead run out to 200 pages to make a book. In this case, the messages of "more to life than work" and "treat employees with respect" would have better been presented as a five paragraph essay.
Nice cover photo of the woods though...

Easy Read Business Book.......2007-03-11
Leading with Soul is an easy read. But it has so much to give to the reader. It interweaves a story line of an executive in crisis with business advice rather than just telling war stories. It could be one of those business books that you read once a year. It is a living book that would continually have new insights as you live your life.
For example I participated in an on-line book study at the Work and Worship Institute, and one of the questions I answered was:
Reflect on Gandhi's words we must "become the change that we want to see in the world."
My answer: I think it is critical that leaders role model the type of behavior and values they want to see in followers. It is hard to change other people when you haven't experienced the change yourself. Also by trying to become the change our understanding of the change will we different. The group might still need to make the change but how a change is implemented or the timing of the change can be very different. I work with small businesses, it helps that I bought a business and went bankrupt as I consult with them. I have walked a difficult small business walk. I understand that new change of starting a new adventurer of a small business. I am the change because I have taken a risk.
Obviously you would answer this question differently and I would answer it differently today than I did two years ago. Enjoy this valuable book.
Leading with Soul book.......2007-02-12
I recieved the latest version of the book. The shipping was within the deadline promised. It is the latest edition of the book. The book itself is of medium quality. It is a new, unused hardback but the finish of the pages is rough. There are pages sticking out from the inside a couple centimeters and (compared with the straitness of the text)the top and bottom of the pages from left to right are uneven. It is obvious this was a cheap reproduction of the origonal and it was not cut right from the factory. When the book is looked at it appears someone or something was chewing on all the edges of the pages inside the book. The hard cover is perfect though. But, seeing as I paid less than 8 dollars for a HARD BACK book and that all the printed text was perfect and more than readable, I really souldn't complain. I am satisfied. The cosmetic errors did not take away at all from the functionality of the book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SELLER!
I wish all would lead with soul. Great book.......2006-10-26
A parable and an introduction to a personal journey from autocratic and hateful leadership to leadership with soul. This is a book that invites you in and holds you tight as you read this compelling journey. Changing from autocratic leadership to leading with soul is daunting and not many make the journey. My question is what does it take to move autocratic leadership to make the transition. May be the question of the century. If we can move people to this leadership paradigm, we can change people's lives, their family's lives, and create a new reality for the children of this world. Read this book.

I have read this book on a daily basis for over 10 years. Ms. Beattie's thoughts and feelings about life has helped me to live life in more thoughtful and meaningful ways. On rare occasions (twice), I have bought the book again to share with very special people in my life. That is why I ordered 2 books recently. One Journey to the Heart: Daily Meditations on the Path to Freeing Your Soul for my friend and one for me (my original copy is wearing out!).

Journey to the Heart.......2005-11-18
This is a magical book. I have had a copy since 1996. At first I devoured it, reading many meditations at one sitting. What Melanie Beattie has to say nurtured my Soul and gave me direction. Then one day I started shaking the book and just opening the book to a random page, but it was never random. What I read was usually very relevant to that moment. Her words were just what I needed to cast away self doubt or understand a situation or provide guidance for my life. Melanie Beattie has great wisdom. I hope you find it as useful as I continue to find it - 11 years later. Enjoy.
Book Description
Courageous Souls explores the premise that we are all eternal souls who plan our lives, including our greatest challenges, prior to birth for purposes of spiritual growth. The book contains ten true stories of people who planned physical illness, having handicapped children, deafness, blindness, drug addiction, alcoholism, losing a loved one, and severe accidents. Because very different life challenges are often planned for similar reasons, readers who have not faced these specific challenges will nevertheless see themselves - and their motivations as a soul - in these stories. As readers come to realize that they themselves planned their lives, suffering that once seemed purposeless becomes imbued with deep meaning. Wisdom may be acquired in a more conscious manner; feelings of anger, guilt, blame, and victimization are replaced by acceptance, forgiveness, peace, and gratitude.

So that's why . . ........2007-10-08
If you ever want to get into the backside of your pre-birth planning of your life challenges, read Courageous Souls by Robert Schwartz. Want to know why you attract illness, accidents, birth defects? Want to know why you chose a life of alcoholism or drug addiction, or are around someone who has? Read this book. The stories, while may start out slow at first, are powerful and insightful. Just stick with them. Robert uses mediums who are able to access multiple guides at one time, and your primary guide and listen in on conversations between you and your soul group.
not credible.......2007-09-30
I got to p. 300 and started reading another book. I found this book painstakingly slow to read, the information provided by the mediums: farfetched, and the conclusions drawn by the author, hard to swallow. Often, when mediums are tired, their accuracy rate diminishes. I never heard of any of the mediums used in this book. Robert Schwartz makes everything so complicated when the subject matter is really quite easy to understand. The book just doesn't flow easily and it's not a page turner in my opinion. I'm a believer, but this book really is a waste of time and money. Read Journey of the Soul by Michael Newton, PhD. Instead of using mediums, he enters the superconsciousness of his clients and elicits information from them directly about their experiences on The Other Side.
An Empowering Way to Reframe Painful Challenges in Our Lives.......2007-09-17
It has been said that asking oneself the question, "Who was I before I was born?" can teach us the most about our true spiritual identity -- yet few of us have been so enlightened as to have heard the full reply. COURAGEOUS SOULS takes this starting point one step further by exploring just how we may have crafted our entire life around all of our life circumstances -- both the high and the low points.
What sets Robert Schwartz's book apart from other books about spirituality, reincarnation and the afterlife is his organized use of intuitive readings as companion pieces to accompany the various life stories he includes. These intuitive sessions provide a deep sense of interconnectedness and unconditional love shared in our lifetimes which we sometimes lose sight of, as well as insights into how we continue learning life lessons from one life to the next. The stories include descriptions of people who have experienced tremendous suffering who are greatly inspired and relieved to see an underlying sense of purpose and meaning to all they have gone through.
COURAGEOUS SOULS is an exceptional book for anyone interested in exploring the true nature of their spiritual identity, who is willing to keep an open mind regarding the value of some of the most painful challenges we humans face in our lives on Earth; this is highly recommended reading for anyone seeking to reframe and find deeper meaning from the painful challenges, setbacks or hardships in their lives.
Some of life's challenges explained........2007-09-06
.
Before I even finished reading this book, I ordered more and had them sent to my friends. This book is amazing.
Told through many soul journies, Robert Schwartz brought in the talents of true mediums who were able to discover decisions that these people made before they were born - again. He did not use just one medium, but several, and they are listed in the back of the book. The individuals who shared their stories are also listed with email addresses -- and if they are able and have the time they will answer your questions.
This book came to me at a time I really needed to be reminded of my own experiences through many lives and the time between our next life. The stories are beautiful because they are able to explain why certain tragedies happen to a person.
I highly recommend this book, especially to those with open and searching minds.
Why Human Challenges Exist!.......2007-08-28
Courageous Souls is highly recommended to anyone trying to understand the suffering, tragedy or loss that has caused them to question life, death and/or God. And who among us is not inflicted by such challenges and questions in our lifetime? In my eight years researching life after death, spirituality and life purpose, I have discovered no better explanation of why human challenges exist than what is so eloquently written in Robert Schwartz's book.

For his first book, The Making of a Chef, hands-on journalist Michael Ruhlman attended the most prestigious cooking school in the U.S., the Culinary Institute of America. He also earned his chef's whites and began cooking professionally. Ruhlman ventures further into the secret lives of chefs with his second book, The Soul of a Chef. This enthusiastically researched report is divided into three parts: The first concerns the Certified Master Chef exam, a brutal weeklong cooking marathon that measures the skill levels of professional chefs. The second and third parts of Ruhlman's book are devoted to the careers of two different chefs, Michael Symon of Cleveland's Lola Bistro and Thomas Keller of Napa Valley's legendary French Laundry. The thread connecting these three tales together is Ruhlman's quest for culinary perfection: Does it exist? Is it possible? How is it even measurable? Ruhlman does indeed stumble onto the realization of his high-minded ideal, serving up a palatable conclusion for hard-core foodies equally obsessed with the perfect meal. --Sumi Hahn Almquist
Book Description
In his second in-depth foray into the world of professional cooking, Michael Ruhlman journeys into the heart of the profession. Observing the rigorous Certified Master Chef exam at the Culinary Institute of America, the most influential cooking school in the country, Ruhlman enters the lives and kitchens of rising star Michael Symon and renowned Thomas Keller of the French Laundry. This fascinating book will satisfy any reader's hunger for knowledge about cooking and food, the secrets of successful chefs, at what point cooking becomes an art form, and more. Like Ruhlman's The Making of a Chef, this is an instant classic in food writing-one of the fastest growing and most popular subjects today.

An insider's peek at the CIA's Master Chef Certification exam.......2007-08-20
Here, Ruhlman returns to continue the journey that began with The Making of a Chef, albeit this time with a different set of people, attempting a different degree.
In this book, he takes the reader along for a ride as several gifted chef alumni make a pilgrimage to the CIA, from their separate (and thriving) careers, in order to attempt an advanced culinary masters certification ... a very prestigious credential that few people, even elite chefs, ever achieve.
Think Reality TV, following the journey of a small group of hot chefs, as they attempt to climb the Mt. Everest of culinary certifications, and you'll have the basic idea.
Ruhlman, as usually, pulls it off with is usual soulfulness, grace and aplomb ... and unlike most food writers, he's got the culinary chops (pun intended) to keep up with the people making the journey.
If you like Making of a Chef, you'll like this one too.
Michael, get a better editor!.......2007-04-12
This is a light, quick read for anyone who likes food.
My only criticism is that Ruhlman's wonderful voice is sorely in need of a better editor. The errors detract from the storytelling. Other than that, it's a lovely read.
Pursuit for Perfection.......2007-01-11
Like many people interested in cooking I have often times dreamt of what it would be like to be a chef. If you feel the same way, then look no further than Michael Ruhlman's - The Soul of the Chef. This book is fabulous and likely to become one of your favorites, if you love food. Ruhlman takes you up close and personal with what it's like to be a chef.
The book is broken down into three sections. The first section is a look at the utterly heartbreaking Certified Master Chef exam. This section shows the reader just how difficult the world of a chef can be. He watches as a group of individuals try to make it through this very intense exam. You get a glimpse at the examinees and what drives them to this nearly impossible dream. I really enjoyed that Ruhlman tried to understand what motivates people to attempt such a difficult task. He really gives you an upclose and personal look at the Certified Master Chef exam.
The second section follows an up and coming chef and explores his motivations. This section really highlights what students take away from their culinary school days and what they decide to change for themselves. It was fascinating to watch someone as they were becoming famous.
The third section was my favorite. This section follows Thomas Keller from the French Laundry. Anyone who loves food will totally be taken in by Keller's approach and style. I absolutely loved his discipline and focus. This section, for me, really showed what is the difference between a truly great chef and the average chef. This book really examines the motivations and styles of some members of the next generation of American chefs.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves food. It's like getting a backstage pass to a very private world. I can't say enough good about this book. Really, you should read this!
Micheal Ruhlman is the man!.......2006-09-27
Great book that gives a nice in depth look at the CMC Exam. Very excited to try and take that in the future now hehe. Also, a great look at other two other incredible chefs and their views on cooking and what they strive for. A must read!!!
Magnifique!!!!.......2006-09-08
What a terrific book on the coming of age of the American food scene! We are witnessing an exponential growth in the number of great chefs, wonderful restaurants and informed diners and have (in my opinion) outgrown our French origins. It is that peculiarly American drive that has startled the world from its complacency, our willingness to borrow, adapt, transform and take what is best of all cultures. We have surpassed the land of cuisine with a startling adventuresome that is only now being realized. Ruhlman notes that even though a true American cuisine is evolving, the roots of fine cooking are firmly in Classical French technique and philosophy of food.
We are introduced to a world few of us realize even exists - the world of professional chef. Not a line man, burger flipper or meat & three cook but that rarified plateau of wondrous technique and startling uses of ingredients in new and exciting ways. At the same time we learn about the work behind the scenes - the heart of any fine dining establishment. This is a tale in three parts: (1) The epic 10-day struggle for the coveted "certified Master Chef" title, (2) The beginning of a small, successful restaurant in Ohio (Lula) where the chef-owner seems to break all the rules and (3) the story of the greatest restaurant in America, the French Laundry and its genius chef, Thomas Heller. Each tale is told with passion, admiration and obvious personal enjoyment. The author admits being continually suprised by new revelations, by discovering why we do the things we do. In a sense, the story is as much his journey as it is those he chronicles.
Along the way he contradicts himself, first stating that cooking is not an art then declaring Thomas Heller a true artist. Each of the vignettes illustrates the working theme - a striving for excellence in all things. This comes in many forms and many expressions but at the end of the night the chef must satisfy himself which proved to be even a harder task than satisfying others. The writing for each section was superb and it is difficult to choose a favorite. In each case we root fot the talented but struggling underdog as they attempt to retain their high principles while making a living. My grade: A
Book Description
This is a book for any person who is living with a life-threatening illness and for anyone who is caring for and/or loves a person who is ill. Bolen affirms that the price of going into the scary places, of feeling like a piece of green meat on a hook, is high, but worth it. We have no choice. We will all face health crises--our own and others. We can try to bury our heads in the sand. Or we can travel to the underworld. We can probe. We can listen. We can connect to what we know in our bones.
In the ten years since the original publication of Close to the Bone, Jean Bolen has continued to explore the impact and the possibilities for finding purpose that confronting a serious illness and possible death present us. This expanded edition includes a new section about forming circles in the time of crises, plus more stories that support the process of hope and the desire to live and change as well as a very personal passage in which Dr. Bolen tells the story of the death of her son.
This book is meant to help and heal, to make people less afraid, and to encourage them to trust the wisdom they have inside--what they know in their bones.
* 10th Anniversary revised edition, with a guide for those who want to form support circles.

The "after" of life-threatening illness.......2007-04-13
"In noisy wards crowded waiting rooms of country hospitals and clinics, in quiet private rooms in medical center pavilions or in well-appointed waiting rooms, examining rooms, or offices, wherever there are patients, there are long moments of silence, pauses, sometimes preceded by a sigh, a transient stillness when the air feels heavier."
So starts this book--and if you have "been there" for yourself or with a loved one, you know about the silence pauses, the sighs, the anticipation.
Written 10 years ago, and just updated, most of the information will never go out of date because of the perspective we all have: the reality of hearing you have a major illness.
Most people don't give much thought to the meaning of life--how long will they live? This big question brings up the connection between what ails the body, and their soul's need for authenticity, love and purpose.
Most medical doctors work with statistics, based on what you have: "You have about X years/months to live," and usually are not interested in stories about recovery. At those times, WE must take charge of our life and our attitude.
The author says: Once we take the soul seriously--and this is one of the innate beliefs that human beings do have--then we are spiritual beings on a human path rather than human beings who may well be on a spiritual path.
The author is a psychiatrist who understands how one person's diagnosis affects many around them--a decent into another world. Here is where that line between health and wellness is crossed and we enter the realm of the soul.
Before "the discovery" that something is wrong, we live in innocence or denial--and then comes the change--the "after."
The author made so many thought-provoking points about being sick, being hospitalized. How we are supposed to act--for the medical professionals, for our family, for ourself.
She discusses the importance of keeping a journal if we have a life-threatening disease, noting both the small and big things of every-day life.
I had a friend who after a long and valiant struggle died of cancer. She called the cancer "a gift" because of an outpouring of love from her friends, family and supportive community that she had never felt before. Today I still think of her life/her attitude as a "gift" to me.
No one gets of life alive--we are all mortal. The author reminds us that the Chinese pictograph for "crisis" contains the ideograms for both "danger" and "opportunity."
Armchair Interviews says: If illness is threatening how you live, this book will give you strength.
Immensely Meaningful Book.......2007-04-13
Essential book for all whose lives are currently touched by serious illness. As a health care provider and one who has been personally affected by personal catastrophic health changes, I highly recommend CLOSE TO THE BONE.

Uplifting.......2007-07-01
What an amazing book. I began to read with a cynically curled lip, but the truth in this book grabbed me and I read it in 2 days and then did the Seminar. I'm sorry if I sound cliche, but this is lifechanging. I don't recognise the doubting me who picked up the book (but I thank God that I did) and I love what I have become and I laugh now at all the emotional rubbish that I have been able to dump and move on without it dragging me down. Buy it, feel it, live!
Yes but....used as a commercial product.......2007-04-29
I really liked the Book of Brandon Bays, I watched the videos on the net so I joined yesterday the seminar of the Journey: 4 hours of video listening to her the stories I knew by heart: impossible for me, so I went out for 30 minutes but I had critics because the energy of the room was disturbed without me. I came back after 30 minutes and took a magazine. At the lunch time, the organiser told me I had too negative energy for the group with this attitude: I replied I wanted to start the practical healing, the methods of B. Bays..not only watching videos.
The man has been so negative with me ,I had to leave the seminar...
Absolutely stunning and healing.......2007-03-25
I read this book in 1 day. It resonated with me instantly. I went to a weekend seminar and did more healing in that weekend than in 13+years of therapy. I am still in awe and amazement at the results I received and am continuing to receive. The material is brillantly packaged into a quick way to uncover feelings and get to the core, and then to Source. And I have been able to carry that with me every day since I left the seminar. One month later and I am still lighter than air and am overwhelmed at my continued healing. you don't have to go to the seminar, however, you can read the book and she will teach you some of the processes in the book and you and a friend can try them out. But if it resonates with you, the seminar is %1000 better.

This is the only way I have ever found .......2006-11-04
Doing the self meditations in THE JOURNEY by Brandon Bays--going to the source, etc.--is the only way I have ever found to fully heal the emotional scars all of us develop along the way in life.
This book is so powerful, I put it second only to the BIBLE.

Pirate Popup Book.......2007-07-16
Great book for kids-preteens to learn about Pirates. Lots of "swag" to open up and look through, from official looking orders and rosters to currency and even your very own pirate flag.
Something neat to browse through and get some neat details and tidbits but certainly not an adult book
Great, fun book for young & old.......2007-02-20
Cool book, unique, worth every penny. Would love to see musuem.
Good Reference.......2007-02-03
I have seen in many reviews that people purchased this book for their children. This is probably due to the fact that there are removable items within the pages of this book. These are actually replicas of authentic 17th and 18th century documents, a really bad hand of period playing cards, and a replica of an authentic pirate flag. in regards to these documents they are somewhat difficult to read (due to the fact the printing in these times was not exactly "good"). Also the fact that this book covers pirate torture techniques and some of there deaths in gruesome detail makes me wonder if young children should be reading that. Anyway, if you want a fun book for the kids pick up "pirates" by john Matthews, if you want a good introductory to the "golden age of piracy" pick this book
Cool.......2007-01-24
What a neat book and it's by Croche...a philly guy. I just thought it was well put together, fun to look at, and there was a lot of cool info in there that made me want to go visit his museum in Key West so I could learn more.
Great book for all ages!.......2007-01-18
I bought this as a gift for my 7-year-old nephew, and it was a huge hit with everyone in the family. The intricate details of the book make it unique and interesting to all ages, although it is clearly written to appeal to younger readers.
Book Description
This very special gift set includes the three books that comprise Sylvia Browne's Journey of the Soul series: Book 1 God, Creation, and Tools for Life Does God exist? Was the world created, or did it evolve? Where am I in the big picture of the universe? Most people have asked these questions but have no clear answers. However, Sylvia does, and in this fascinating book, she shares her 40 years of investigation into these issues. Drawing from thousands of research sessions with Francine, her spirit guide, along with her own understanding of a number of riveting topics that are pertinent to humanity as a whole, you will have access to information that is mentally profound, spiritually moving, and eminently logical.
Francine, who resides on the Other Side, lives within the presence of God and has access to a wealth of knowledge about the nature of creation. Sylvia, then, becomes the human voice for Francine and is able to share the fruits of her wisdom. We are assured that God will respond to all questionsour job is to ask the right questions and be receptive to the answers we receive. In so doing, we gain valuable tools for life! Book 2 Soul's Perfection Sylvia and her guides help solve a great mystery in this fascinating booknamely, what is the meaning of life? Most human beingsand many teachers and great scholars have pondered this question over the years, but there has never been a truly definitive answer. This leaves most of us with a feeling of being incomplete in some way. Here, Sylvia and her guides take you to that place within you where you can achieve a sense of intellectual and spiritual fulfillment. They explain that we are here to perfect our souls by absorbing God's knowledge. We are the experiencing side of God, where God is the primary intellect of creation. Soul's Perfection takes you through the complete scope of your soul's journey, from planning each incarnation on the Other Side to making life meaningful here on Earth. If you wish to stand proudly before God some day, then the concepts discussed here will bring you wisdom, depth, and spiritual insight.
Book 3 The Nature of Good and Evil We constantly see the "senseless violence" in our world, and it begs the question: "How can an all-loving God allow this to exist?" Indeed, many people simply reject any notion of God for this very reason. This third book in Sylvia's Journey of the Soul series gives you the philosophical framework to understand the nature of good and eviland the role of God in the big picture. When you see how evil originated and why it thrives in our world, you're more prepared to face it and overcome it. Sylvia points out that you need not fear "evil spirits" or "curses"which are merely stories bred from ignorance. And how would you like to serve as one of God's warriors of Light? Sylvia explains how to enlist! By combining her philosophical and theological views, Sylvia creates a spiritual umbrella that rises above traditional religion. All paths that lead to knowing God have meritSylvia simply invites you to know Him/Her in your own way, free of dogma and fear. Millions of people have witnessed Sylvia Browne's incredible psychic powers on TV shows such as Montel, Larry King Live, Entertainment Tonight, and Unsolved Mysteries; and she has been profiled in Cosmopolitan, People magazine, and other national media. Her on-target psychic readings have helped police solve crimes, and she astounds audiences wherever she appears. Sylvia is the author of numerous books and audios; is the president of the Sylvia Browne Corporation; and is the founder of her church, the Society of Novus Spiritus, located in Campbell, California.

EXCELLENT.......2007-01-03
AS USUAL SYLVIA'S BOOKS ARE FASCINATING AND SO SO HELPFUL--MORE SO THAN
ANY BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ.
A lot of paper could have been saved,.......2006-11-04
if all the "and"s, "very"s, and trite, overused adjectives were deleted. Ideas are repeated over again - sometimes in the exact same words. Everything Sylvia had to say could have been said in one book of less than 200 pages!
A friend recommended this series to me, and thank the Gods, she loaned me her set because I would have been very upset to have wasted any money on it. I plowed through every last word in the hopes that it would get better. No luck.
While I agree with a lot of the concepts she sets forth, some things are just too hard to believe (ie. colored lights flashing on a big board in heaven?). In addition, she contradicts herself and at times she simply does not know what she is talking about. ("Inca-Aztec culture"? No such thing as far as I have been able to ascertain.)
The writing style is juvenile. Stupidity is one of the things she berates throughout the books, yet she talks to her readers as if we are indeed stupid. If you want to read an intelligent discourse on the same topics she covers, I would suggest the Conversations with God series by Neale Donald Walsch.
Lastly, it got a little old hearing how wonderful/intelligent/unselfish and so on, Sylvia is as portrayed through the words of Francine. And how Sylvia's current reincarntion has just been so horrible and how nobody but someone as evolved as Sylvia could have possibly made it through. The effect was to make me feel like I was reading her fan mail.
Don't waste your time on this series. And definitely don't waste your money.
Not bad..interesting.......2006-08-23
Good for the newbie reading of Sylvia. Book 2 is the best of all of the three. Some themes are redundant and not clearly explained but that is probably why she has a plethora of books! She hides the info in other books so you buy more!
Sylvia Browne's Journey of the Soul-Box Set.......2006-07-25
It has been my life's passion to explore spiritual writings. I come from a Christian background and have read the Bible many times and in many versions. I have also read, the Gnostic literature, the Bagavagita, studied the Kabala for years and I have completed most of Blavatsky. Some people have no choice as to whether they are a student of the information of this nature, it is often 'do or die'. And it is like that for me, `do or die', I read it because I have too on some level. I have been studying these for over 30 years. And I have traveled extensively in pursuit of this undying quest, this unquenchable thirst that I have for these.
This Journey of the Soul-Box Set consists of three books. It has got to be the most simply stated and easiest to understand books of information about spirituality. You can read volumes about this stuff from various sources taking most of your life time to even scratch the surface. What Sylvia has done is taken everything that she studied for her whole life and put it into a nut shell. With the help of her spiritual guides she has written an easy to understand, comprehensive set of books on the subject.
I find what she says is very accurate and in keeping with truth. I have not found anything in any of the three books that contradicts the sound spiritual teachings found in all religions.
I sent a set of books to my sister who is in Hagedorn Mental Institution, a state facility in NJ. I would like to mention here that no one can get into a state facility unless they are inspected, certified and papered, legally insane. She has suffered with bi-polar disease and the like for more than 25 years. She is brilliant, perhaps genius and she is psychic as many of these people often are. She reads Shakespeare the Bible and physics. She writes poetry and makes paintings three pictures at a time. She hears voices and has visitors and many of her invisible guests are not benevolent to put it mildly. She often meets with her husband who was buried in Arlington ten years ago. She refers to her home as a 'landing strip'.
She is very receptive to Sylvia's books and this series in particular. She loves them. 'The information is so true.' she says, `I love these books, I can't put them down. They are helping me so much. This is the most helpful information on spirituality that I have ever read. This stuff is right on.' That is what she said.
She is only thru the first volume. When she completed it she started it over again. The upside down thinking was an important part of the information that I shared with her from book one. I asked her to read through all three then start over. She said that she has to read it twice. There is so much for her to understand that she has to read it twice. I have always been convinced that my sister had serious spiritual problems and was not really mental. I am hopeful that these volumes bring her to a new place.
I can only be thankful that finally I have found something on spirituality that she has latched on to. I would suggest for anyone intending to give this information to a patient in a mental institution to read the books first before giving it ti a loved one. It is important for them to have someone to talk to about it's content.
And I will encourage modern day Christians to read this information also. If anything we know that Jesus was a Nazarene and studied under the Essenes. Find out the portion you are missing in your program.

Making Contact: Our Soul's Journey and Purpose Through Life.......2005-08-12
This little book took me to a place so asounding I was breathless through the whole read, and so, I read it twice more. Each time, I found Ramtha gave me insights and thoughts to ponder as no other spirituality books has ever done. Quite frankly, I felt so connected to the teachings that it was overwhelming. This book exercises the mind, the heart and soul and everything unseen that is only felt. I whole heartedly recommend reading all of Ramtha.
