Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

The best game in the World of Darkness.......2003-05-21
This is the best game in White Wolf's game universe. I have never played a game with so many possibilities. This book is the core rulebook for Mage the Ascension Second Edition. The book contains everything you need to understand the Mage universe. Every aspect of the game is elaborated on fully or contains enough information for you to come up with the rest of the details. The book focuses on the Traditions but there is also a good amount of information on the Technocratic Union, Marauders, and Nephandi for you to use. The worlds beyond the Gauntlet and Horizon are also touched on along with sample umbrood. With this book any game is possible. You want to play a fireball-chucking mage? No problem. How about a hacker from the Matrix? There's a Tradition available just for that. Want to play a tough martial artist who can catch bullets? There are rules for that too. This is a great book that can stand alone without supplements, unlike its revised edition.
I wish they'd reprint this game!.......2001-02-20
I really do wish they'd reprint it! Mage 2nd edition has potential! Stories can *happen* in it! It's not a bunch of gaming execs trying to squeeze a few bucks out of Vampire and Werewolf players so they can have stupid little duels to prove which kind of supernatural PC is tougher, unlike some more recent stuff! Mage 2nd edition is the *total* modern fantasy game!
My Favorite WoD Game, Hands Down........2001-01-17
Let's face it, in the World of Darkness, hope is all too rare. Vampires are abberations of the natural order whose agelessness serves only to illustrate the beauty of death. Werewolves are fighting a losing battle against the Wyrm, the spirit of active destruction. Wraiths are dead souls wishing for Oblivion. Hunters are angsty mortals with nary a clue about their benefactors' identities ... but they kill the Outsiders anyway. (Changelings I don't know, sorry.)
And among all this chaos ... the Mage stands tall, looking to Ascend.
Oh, it's not all fuzzy bunnies, being a Mage. There's pain, and death, and the rest of the World of Darkness to contend with. But Mages have something to fight for other than survival. They have ideals. (Perhaps morbid ideals, but nobody ever said morbid is wrong ...) They have dreams. And, in the World of Darkness as in our own world, the perception of reality shapes reality itself. (Okay, I play too many Malkavians in Vampire. So sue me.) This is what it means to be a Mage.
It would take far more space than I have here to explain the worldview behind Mage. Suffice it to say that Mage (at least Second Edition) is positive in outlook, with a scope that encourages the imagination. This setting focuses on wonder, pain, and Ascension to a higher state. The group Storyteller will either love this game or hate it: love because of the openness of a magic system that's actually -realistic- (okay, you Christians are probably laughing at me now - oh well), or hatred because you've just spent twenty hours of preparation on Umbral Lords and now your players just want to use the spirit world to break into a Technocracy stronghold.
When I read this book for the first time, it was almost a spiritual experience. This is what a magical RPG is supposed to be like, in my view. However, hack-n-slashers can wreak havock on the system, mainly through over-use of Forces. I find that taking Forces away entirely is the best way to deal with this nuisance ... although with a group of powermongers, perhaps Werewolf would be a better game for you.
Warning: Revised Mage takes all the wonder and hope out of the setting and leaves you with the same old gloom and croon of the rest of the World of Darkness. The developers certainly did a wonderful job of making sure that the backstory fit the rest of the WoD, but I'm rather sorry to see hope go. (Life is painful enough without vicarously living through a rotting pile of bones, IMHO.) So, I proudly recommend Mage: The Ascension Second Edition to the Real Roleplayers and Loonies out there, Revised Mage to the Real Men among you (heaven help us all), and Harvard to the Munchkins that exist like worms at the heart of every gaming group...
This is what the game always should have been.......2000-12-20
Forget Revised, this is what the game is really about. A generic setting in which you can launch a game in any time, any where, with any who. The revisions made from visionary-but-glitchy First edition make it much clearer and smoother to run.
Has everything you need to start an Ascension War chronicle (whether you want to get involved in the War or not is another matter), including details on the Technocracy, governments, secret organisations, the Umbra, the Digital Web, and a little on history.
Magick is appropriately powerful, and the game flows much more than the "crunchier" games like Vampire or Werewolf. It's a harder game than those, requiring more in the way of maturity and intelligence, but far more rewarding. And you don't have to play some kind of freaky monster.
Not for everyone..........2000-11-27
yes, I gave it five stars, and I will get to the why. But I do believe, like other reviewers, that this game might not suit everybody, and it is certainly not easy to either explain nor play without running into some quite peculiar pitfalls. I started out with RPGs when I was 12. I have read, played and "directed" at least 10 different RPG systems. Fantasy, star wars, star trek, marvel superheores (anyone whot thinks I was waaay to deep into it is absolutely RIGHT, I was positively addicted). I even wrote a short monthly column on RPGs for an "alternative culture" magazine for a while. So when my best friend and companion in roleplaying introduced me to White Wolf games (with a copy of Mage as a birthday present), I was openly distrustful. (Mages with computers? you gotta be kidding me!). However, I overcame my first impression and read it, read it and re-read it. I was hooked! What was going on with this game was REAL MAGIC! All the other RPGs I have played and directed have the same problem: magic is a static thing, confined to the stereotypes which are known by all: wizened old men, reading out of musty old books, recipes including bat dung and frog eyes. Interminable list of spells, some of them useless, some inaccessible until the characters were incredibly powerful already, and the eternal problem of mages being weak and useless once their spells were spent. Mage: the Ascension is my favorite RPG (out of, like I've mentioned, many others I've met and struggled with for a while). But, it's not for everyone. It's not a game you can throw at the players out of the blue. It's a challenging game for the Storyteller. Yes, it's White Wolf as far as the basic system is concerned, but the Storyteller must do extensive homework ,and at least skim some of the reference works and recommended further readings given by the authors (some of which, BTW, are very good). Otherwise any chronicle will look and sound bland. I agree with other reviewers in that the designers reach out for much and leave a lot of spaces and gaps: I believe this to be intentional. The flexibility implied by a game where reality is "up for grabs" does not allow any hard-and-fast rules regarding the nature of the stories or the possibilities of what the players might do. For example: the Technocracy's struggle can (in my opinion) be seen as equally "noble" than the one from the traditions, in that they can be understood as seeing themselves as protectors of humankind from "what's out there". They can also be insane megalomaniacs out for world domination, will ye or nay ye, but it's another thing the Storyteller must decide beforehand. The Traditions are another kettle of fish: in my opinion they are more guidelines than models to build characters upon. For example: the Akashic Brotherhood is way too big, attempting to encompass many different real-world beliefs in one page of description. Again in my opinion, an Akashic can be fashioned after Indian yogis or Tibetan ascetics just as they can be made to look and act like your regular action-film martial arts master. I tell my players not to delude themselves into thinking that all Akashics are bald, and assume kung-fu stances, and that not all Dreamspeakers wear loincloths and beat drums. The Avatar is another thing that most people I know who've played Mage seem not to understand. It's a great tool for the players to relate to their character and for Storytellers to keep the pace of the story in moments when the players seem to lose track of everything that's going on under their noses, but, again, if the Storyteller is not consistent with the Avatar thing, it either gets left out altogether, or the players see through it and cry foul when the Storyteller turns their Avatars on them. As for the system: I believe it to be a blessing, through and through. White Wolf's system really lets you forgo dozens o dice rolls, and its by far more "realistic" than any other RPG system in my experience. All the White Wolf books insist on it: tell stories first, roll dice only if it helps the story. Because, despite the occassional confusion in interpreting this or that (or finding stuff in the index: I agree, it's dreadful), can anybody deny that a magic system like this would be flat-out impossible to run with any other set of RPG rules? It's a great game, folks, but in order for it to be truly enjoyable and all that it can be, it does require more careful attention and input than other RPGs. Take the contents of this book as GUIDELINES, to be greatly expanded upon, and more than any other RPG let a lot of you into it. Do not be afraid to innovate, to discard what you don't like, and I venture to say that it will prove an unprecedented, exciting experience for all RPG enthusiasts, players and gamemasters alike.

Ascension and the Divine World Order.......2007-09-07
It is time people wake up and quit watching TV and read the books
that are available about the coming 5 year period. We are in a very
very important period in "Time" and Dr Michael Sharp is excellent at
presenting some of the information.
Michael Sharp doesn't waste any time in impressing the import of his theories.......2007-08-27
Michael Sharp doesn't waste any time in impressing the import of his theories upon a reader, as the first sentences of The Book of Life: Ascension and the Divine World Order make clear: Welcome to the most significant event in the history of creation. I tend to be skeptical of statements like this, but I kept reading and I found something surprising a clear explanation of New Age concepts offset only slightly by outlandish ideas.
The Book of Life is centered on helping its reader understand the path to Ascension, which Sharp describes as the act of gaining understanding and welcoming a higher consciousness into your body. He argues that as the universe is comprised of energy, it is our goal to learn how to let this energy flow through us and alter our perception to expand within the physical universe.
These theories on the Ascension are easier to process than many New Age texts, chiefly because I recognize several of them from existing mythologies. The concept of the yin-yang, the golden rule, the serpent devouring its own tail, the Indian chakra system and the Jewish Tree of Life are all seen as interpretations of the universe balancing energy. It's refreshing to read such a comprehensive belief structure, and Sharp presents each part with equal seriousness.
However, when it comes to explaining the historical background of Ascension I found Sharp sounded more like a science fiction writer. The possibility that the mythical societies of Lemuria and Atlantis failed because of poor energy distribution and we are shouldering that karmic fallout is a bit outlandish, but when Sharp suggests that our spiritual growth was subjugated eons ago by an alien race known as the Annunaki he begins to forfeit his credibility.
Sharp wins back some credibility later in the book when he discusses how society is moving towards the Ascension naturally, citing such strides as the Internet and the spread of science and literacy. He offers several techniques for coming to the Ascension face your fears, expand your chakra, seek out your spiritual guides, adopt a life view on par with the Greek Stoics which are somewhat bland next to his buildup of the process but useful advice for daily life.
His urgent tone detracts from his idea of awakening, but there is enough information in "The Book of Life" to help with personal understanding. I found several of its suggestions useful, and would easily recommend it to anyone looking for a nudge in beliefs.
Christ Consciousness Ahoj!.......2007-08-21
If there is one book which really and truly demystifies the process of ascension and puts in perspective, the enormous emotional charge associated with the prophesied event, it must be Michael Sharp's 'The Book of Light'. This event, also known as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, has been prophesied to take place, sometime after December 23rd, 2012. This date also coincides with the end of the Mayan calendar and signifies the end of our civilization, as we know it. Many mystics and channeled sources have taken up this topic for discussion, stating that the 'end times' would be a time when people would stop regarding his/her neighbour as a distinct 'other' and 'do unto another as s/he would have done to him/her self'.
This book is the first of a series by Michael Sharp. The author affirms that he is one of many who have been assigned the task of making accessible to the general public, the genuine facts behind the Ascension Project, underlying the spiritual history of this planet. To this end, he reveals a certain amount of information on the Lemurian and Atlantean civilisations, during both of which, attempts at ascension failed. In this book, the author goes deeper into the spiritual reason behind the present ascension attempt, the physical implications for us as earthlings, and the kind of choices and decisions specifically required of us as we experience a gigantic transiotion of this kind. As mentioned in the beginning of this review, seldom has material as esoteric as this, been presented in such a lucid, concise and incisive fashion. Some of the material is clearly channeled from a source outside the physical. This 'inside information' is something we are intuitively aware of, but, as beings on the physical plane, we cannot access this 'long term perspective' directly. In the vision presented in this book, Michael Sharp paints a picture, that for me, fitted effortlessly with my own view as to what to expect when the 'end times' come calling.
The first in this series, this book deals with the nitty gritty of the event per se. It says clearly that the event is one of 'grounding Christ Consciousness', after achieving which, we embrace our collective transcendental destiny as fulfilled human beings, working in concert with each other (instead of in competition) and with All That Is. The Second Book, called 'the Dossier of the Ascension', is an elaboration of the last two chapters of the first book. In this book, more specific and detailed instructions are given as to chakra activation and the reason behind the blockages that are commonly experienced. I have yet to read the third book in this series, 'The Book of Light', but it deals with the nature of our consciousness and how it is, in essence, a 'body of light'.
I can't recommend this book highly enough. If you're wondering why you are here, who you really are, why you have been held back from achieving your objectives, read this book. You will recognize this information, it will resonate with what you already know, deep in the confines of your own heart (as it did with me). It will light a candle within you, wake up dormant memories.Your programmed responses to trying situations will begin to change, they will be more awake and more aware. And perhaps, you will have begun your own journey, at an accelerated pace, to Christ Consciousness.
Loving Spirit, Black Hawk, SD.......2007-08-01
Michael Sharp has given me so many answers to questions I have had all my life. He repeats that there are many paths for an individual to achieve awakening and ascension. He believes his books are the fastest way to achieve this. I know that since I started reading Book of Life I have moved forward faster and further than in my 42 yrs of searching and working toward my highest spiritual self. As in all things, the individual will know which path to enlightenment they need to take. Due to this book I have made the choice to take the Lightening Path. Thank you Michael for sharing your loving energy with all of us.
Read with caution; continue on your own path..........2007-07-07
It is with caution that I am checking out this author's book and writings. Like many on this quest, I have seen my share of willful charlatans, along with plenty of purported channelers seeking only to sell their books and other products, plus those who are well-intentioned but simply deluded and ensnared in their own illusions or concoctions of Truth.
To the list of "I do not believe" items in the intro of The Book Of Light, Volume One (free download from Sharp's website), I add these two: I do not believe in a single answer or universal path for all persons given our individual stages of development on the karmic walk, and I do not believe that anyone walking this Earth has sufficient spiritual clarity to be consciously aware of the entire spritual truth of the planet, as Sharp claims.
Those of us who walk this path in earnest understand that we create our reality, and that we each must walk an individual path to rediscover our Unity, our Oneness with/in God. It is a welcome respite if we find useful resources along the way that speak to us, and sometimes a book can really seem revelatory to person(s) who have never heard such words before. But I have great reservation about anyone who presents him/her self as a spiritual teacher but uses an academic title such as "Dr." for apparent validation (did Gandhi or Krishnamurti or Jesus or Gautama do this?) and purports to know it all, no matter how sensible-sounding some of his/her writings may sound. And I am immediately put on guard when any book starts with "Hello Dear One" as though spoken from a place of benign superiority.
Advice to all readers: Continue to seek your own Truth, don't buy into another's version. If the words in this book speak to you, that's wonderful. Use them as a guidepost to continue your quest. Don't fall into the trap of guru or dogma worship or into the illusion of having "arrived" because something in a book resonates with you.
Book Description
Taking a magickal approach to this often misunderstood spirituality, Christopher Penczak explores the fascinating path of ascension. Ascension Magick unveils the diverse mystical roots of ascension, and highlights where the beliefs and practices of today's "light workers" intersect with those of modern pagans, witches, and magick practitioners. It also examines the practical side-various forms of magick, energy healing, meditation, past life regression, channeling, dowsing-and provides helpful meditations, spells, and exercises. From angels and aliens to reincarnation and the Merkaba, Penczak leaves no stone unturned in this remarkably thorough and absorbing examination of ascension spirituality and magick.

A Breakthrough.......2007-10-11
This book has marked a significant point in my spiritual growth.
I've read many, many works on magick. While they all tell you how to cast a circle and call the quarters...no book I've seen to date has addressed how to go beyond the basics and actually GROW within the magickal arts.
Until now.
I feel this book is very "next level" material.
Lovely Synthesis!.......2007-08-16
Over the years I've read alot of books on ceremonial occultism, Paganism, Wicca, and occasionally I ventured into Ascension material - but never felt any connection or resonance with the more "New Age" offerings, even though I found some of the information compelling and in many ways related to my own magickal practice and path.
The reason I did not "feel" Ascension material was really related to more of a vocabulary difference, than anything else. The terminology was vastly different, with alot of nearly sci-fi jargon, and a seeming imbalanced perception of Light as in direct opposition to Dark. I also was unsure of what to think about the whole Ascended Masters and ET elements that were such core aspects of that paradigm. Many within the Pagan community looked down on Ascensionists as "fluffy White Lighters", while alot of attitudes within the New Age community seemed to look down on Pagans and Witches as evil &/or misguided.
Christopher Penczak has written a truely amazing book that helps bridge the gap between the various magickal and spiritual communities that actually share most, if not all, the same goals. Taking the major concepts and ideologies from the Ascension paradigm and drawing parallels to the Eastern and Western magickal and spiritual paths, Christopher cultivates a sense of kinship. Even the ET and intergalactic elements of Ascension were put into a perspective that made them not only palatable, but accessible and potentially very useful to a wide variety of readers. Also "translating" the contextual vocabulary of the New Age into concepts more familiar to Pagans and Magickians, the reader become highly aware of the value that Ascension can bring to the very modern seeker - whether or not they consider themselves "New Age" or not.
The book is hefty (which I loved), but does not rely on filler that repeats the same line from many other available books to acheive its weight. Readers well-versed in Western magickal traditions, such as Cabala and ritual magick will likely have a much easier time with some of the material than those unfamiliar with it. But by offering explanations that appeal to the knowledge-set of many different pracititioner levels and paths, everyone will be able to get a great deal from this veritable tome.
Throughout the book Christopher's desire to cultivate an inter-paradigm understanding and mutually beneficial exchange is very clear. Misconceptions that each community has about the other are also addressed honestly, and discussed in a frank manner - and even the weaknesses of the path are gently exposed, with practical solutions for overcoming or avoiding them altogether provided for those who wish to delve deeper and become more involved with the Ascension scene.
I absolutely loved this book and dog-eared many pages and chapters to go back to and re-read for better understanding. I also loved the meditations provided, especially the Merkaba activation. These allow the reader to experience the energies of this paradigm for themselves, should they choose.
Ascension Magick.......2007-06-20
This is probably the most important book I've read to date. Although it's not the easiest read, there are new concepts that I'm working on, it contains the foundation for this most important path. As a long-time fan of Christopher Penczak, I can say that it fits in nicely with his easy-to-understand way of writing. No, I don't understand everthing in the book, but it a lot easier than Frissels's, Nothing in This Book is True... I think it is a necessary addition to any personal library. It is inspiring!
New age collections must have this........2007-06-17
Ascension spirituality receives a new level of clarity and insight in ASCENSION MAGICK: RITUAL, MYTH & HEALING FOR THE NEW AEON. The history, spirituality and meaning of ascension theology and techniques are surveyed from a spiritual and magickal perspective, with chapters focusing on everything related, from the science of the seven rays and karma to channeling, Atlantis theory, sacred geometry and more. New age collections must have this.

A book for Pleidian Pagans and Magicians.......2007-06-02
In this book Christopher Penczak synthesizes channeled material with neo-pagan practice with excellent results. He has sifted through the voluminous output of trance channels and gleaned out the nuggets from the mountain of fortune-cookie platitudes, murky and meandering prose, and sentimental blathering that is the overwhelming majority of that literature. The result is very worthwhile addition to any spiritual library. The chapter on the Merkaba meditation alone is worth the purchase price. It also would be good as an introduction to anyone curious about channeled material. Highly recommended.

Imperious and beautiful, Princess Serafina has loved Darius Santiago, the king's most trusted warrior, since she was a child. But Darius was plucked from the gutter by the king to be trained as a spy, and although he loves Serafina beyond reason, he conceals his heart for he believes his background forbids a union between them. When Serafina is betrothed to a ruthless Russian aristocrat in a bargain that gains her tiny island kingdom protection from Bonaparte's armies, Darius intervenes to save her. His actions set in motion a sequence of events that will challenge the strength of their love and threaten their lives as well as the survival of the kingdom.
This energetic plot has the hero and heroine poised on the razor's edge of physical danger at the same time they're struggling to trust each other with the deepest secrets of their hearts. The supporting cast of secondary characters is excellent, especially the members of the heroine's family. Their normalcy provides a stark contrast to the hero, whose childhood of neglect and abuse has left scars and built emotional walls that only the heroine's love may heal. The delightful tales of Ascencion's royal family, first begun with The Pirate Prince, will continue with Foley's next novel, Prince Charming, the story of Serafina's brother, Prince Rafael di Fiore. --Lois Faye Dyer
Book Description
Dear Reader,
I'm so proud to introduce Gaelen Foley, a captivating new writer who will sweep you away with this unforgettable story of forbidden love and wondrous destiny.
Darius Santiago is the King's most trusted man, a master spy and assassin. He is handsome, charming, ruthless, and he has one weakness--the stunning Princess Serafina. She is all he has ever wanted and everything he cannot have. Serafina has worshipped Darius from afar her whole life, knowing that deep in the reaches of her soul, where she is not royalty but a flesh and blood woman, she belongs to this dangerous, untouchable man. Unable to suppress their desire any longer, they are swept into a daring dance of passion destined to consume them both until a deadly enemy threatens to destroy their new love.
PRINCESS is historical romance at its best--full of adventure, intrigue, and pageantry--from an amazingly talented new author whose storytelling career is just beginning. . . .
Enjoy!

Good, but not Great.......2007-08-20
As the characters and plot lines in Princess have been well summarized by other reviewers, I would just like to add that I found the book to be good, but not great (a minority view here, I realize). The love story between Darius and Serafina started off strong, but then it came to an abrupt halt when Darius left the island on a secret mission. After his return, Darius and Serafina have a sweet reunion, but then proceed to act out of character until the ultimate resolution of the book.
My experience with Gaelen Foley novels has been a bit uneven, so far. I have really liked some of her books (such as His Wicked Kiss: A Novel), and not been able to finish some others. This one fell in the middle. I expected more from Princess after I read many great reviews of it here. If I had managed my expectations of the book, I probably would have avoided the mild disappointment I felt after reading it.
Book #2 in this Trilogy.......2007-07-15
I enjoyed book #1 (The Pirate Prince), but this one fell short for me. I expected more from the parents of Serifina. They "sold" their daughter to a Russion jerk without knowing his background!? All for the sake of gaining his military support. The exchange between Serifina and Darius got stale. I was tired of reading about trust, secrets, not being good enough and what not. On and on. I mean, shut up and stop whining for goodness sake! Then they get married and fight. UGH All the bickering and needless hurt they inflicted on each other and others was just wearing on my soul.
A Prince for a Princess.......2007-04-25
Darius and Princess Seraphina are one of the most romantic couples ever to grace the pages of a romance novel. Fortunately, I read this novel before its prequel and had no preconceived notions of how all the characters should act. This novel stands on its own.
Darius is an alpha hero extraordinaire. He is bold, fearless, smart and so in love with Seraphina that your heart melts whenever he is with her. His devotion is unquestionable. He is also ruthless, has a past full of secrets, and not above manipulation to get what he wants.
Seraphina is kind, loving and also manipulative. She really believes the ends justify the means when it comes to capturing Darius. Together, they have a battle of wills that keeps the plot from falling into formulaic misunderstandings. It is totally understandable why Darius keeps his past a secret. The reader empathizes with Seraphina's desire for Darius but also her commitment to her country and duty. Every scene they have is filled with longing, desire and romance. Rarely do writers raise sexual and emotional tension to the boiling point that Ms. Foley does in this novel.
The international intrigue is an added bonus. Darius and Seraphina have to live their life under the shadow of Napoleon and the specter of French armies swarming over their Island nation.
The only drawback from this book was that the conclusion was a bit abrupt. But that could just be that I was not ready to see this story end.
I love this book but...........2006-12-31
I loved this book. Alone, it was fantastic, but as a sequel, I wanted more of the characters from the Pirate Prince. Like other reviewers, I felt Lazar and Allegra were completely different people. They had little interaction with their daughter and took little interest in her during such a hard time in her life. Sarafina was spiraling downward over the man she loved and they did nothing. It was hard to see two characters change so dramatically. I had a perfect picture of their happily ever after and this book kinda spoiled that. I don't mind some adversity, but I like to see the characters react to that adverstity, to overcome it, not ignore it. Read this book because it is fantastic, but don't expect a great sequel.
The Tale of A Princess and Assassin.......2006-12-27
I've been looking forward to read about Darius, who first appeared in the Pirate Prince. He seemed to be such an interesting character. I especially love the scene when he's following Lazar around and acting tough. We can see the shadow of that boy in the grown up Darius. He's still acting tough and quite stubborn. I think it's just natural that he felt he's not good enough for her and tried to push her away. He tried to suppress his love and would probably have kept it hidden forever, if not for Seraphina's attempt to pursue her love.
I think that Seraphina is also a wonderful character. True, she could be childish, spoiled, and selfish sometimes, but I don't find that surprising, considering that she's a princess. However, we can also see her sense of responsibility and duty to her country. She accepted the engagement to the Russian Prince, knowing that it would strengthen her country. She didn't make a fuss out of it and tried to make the best of the situation. Although her love for Darius never wavers, but since he didn't want her, she might as well marry somebody who will benefit her country.
There are still some points that I question in the story. It's clear when and how Seraphina fell for Darius in the first place, but I am really curious as to when and how Darius fell in love with Seraphina. After all, he knew Seraphina since she was a baby and probably watched her grew up. I also wonder why Lazar agreed to the engagement so quickly without waiting to hear Darius's report. Napoleon's assassination plan and Darius's escape is also a bit unbelievable.
Still, I really enjoyed reading "Princess". Gaelen Foley has very different writing style compare to other Romance authors. There's more substantial and serious plot and conflicts; invasion, political issue, etc. I also enjoyed her Knight series very much.
Book Description
The Ishayas are an ancient Order of monks, one which claims to stem directly from the Apostle John, following the direct orders of Christ to preserve his teachings until the third millennium. They hold that the original teachings of Jesus were not a belief system at all, but rather a mechanical series of techniques to transform human life into a constant perception and knowing of the perfection of divinity within every human heart.
What is the source or goal of human life? The mind in the waking state is filled with opposing thoughts. Is the perfection of life to be found after death? Is Heaven a far-off state, one to be attained by living a

Good into to spirituality, weak of the advanced stuff.......2004-04-15
This book is a nice introduction to spirituality in general. If you have not learned much about spirituality outside of mainstream religion then this book will be valuable to you.
If you have been on the spiritual path of 'you' for awhile, there is not much new stuff here. The real heart of the advanced stuff, or nearly so, is in the very end of the book. The four ascension attitudes of Appreciation, Gratitude, Love, and Direct Cognition are the core of the intro to Ascension and the Ishayas teachings. It is too bad that these concepts were not introduced more clearly at the beginning of the book and used as chapter themes throughout. An opportunity surely missed to make this a better book. Like how do I remain in Appreciation when things happen in my life, etc.
The material on the 27 spheres in the APPENDIX is very interesting. It too should have formed the core of the book. With the good stuff buried in the back most of the book is kinda mushy and light. As is the book might be best for a teenager or someone in their twenties. I hope the Ishaya teachers write something more substantitive.
A good book for those who are new to ascension.......1999-08-21
I have read the book and I have to admit that I haven't encountered anything I didn't know previously. However, I would still recommend it to people who are new to this concept. For those who have worked earnestly with A Course in Miracles, or have read and practiced the principles in the books Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East by Baird T. Spalding, Door of Everything by Ruby Nelson, or the books by Annalee Skarin, I don't think they will find anything new. The progress in this as in any other practice lies, of course, in daily practice and application of the principles to everyday life. To those who have read this book, I highly recommend to read the other books I mentioned, and some others such as Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, God I AM by Peter Erbe and The Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman.
Easy listening for your soul.......1998-11-20

A book that can change your life!.......1998-07-03
Reading "Ascension" can be a very pleasurable experience to anyone interested in a new way of looking at their life, and at the stress that they have right now. But it is not enough to just read it, one must decide that there really is a way to change things. Change attitudes, beliefs, ways of looking at the world around them, by realizing that there really is a way to contact our inner Selves, and we hold the methods right in our hands, if we only care to use them. A great book for showing us that we can become on the outside what we have always been on the inside. This is a five star book for anyone that really wants it enough to do whatever is required.

an introduction to the spiritual path like you've never read before!.......2005-12-21
This is a very excellent book to start with if you feel any resonance with the work of Dr. Stone. Being I believe his first book, it is not quite as focused and elegant as his later books, but it does set the framework for the rest of his massive collection of "the easy to read encyclopedia of the spiritual path." I made the mistake of starting with his book COSMIC ASCENSION first, and I found it very difficult to understand, since I had not laid the framework for, say, what is meant by 'level of initiation' and 'light quotient'--- so, I do recommend people start with The Complete Ascension Manual, Soul Psychology, and Beyond Ascension first!
Some of the material in this book has become outdated, simply because there have been changes in the planetary hierarchy, and changes in how ascension works, especially in the last 5 to 10 years. For instance, Sanat Kumara is no longer our planetary logos, but Lord Buddha is (this is borne out in future books by Dr. Stone), and there is a much greater emphasis on "integrated ascension" than there ever was before.
The idea and practice of "Integrated Ascension" is one of Dr. Stone's greatest contributions to our world, as there are a great many spiritual paths that have one or the other emphasis, but do not lay such a broad-based framework for total mastery. For instance, I am a reiki master, and there are many in my community who believe that by "taking attunements" they are doing their spiritual work. However, as Dr. Stone points out, spiritual initiations are more about increasing your light quotient (the amount of light you hold) than anything else. A person (a psychic, healer, reiki master, yogi, etc.) may be very highly developed in their light body, but may still be totally run by their negative egos, lower self desires, physical appetites, etc.
In regard to the earlier reviewer who said that Dr. Stone could be more discerning--I think that is a misunderstanding of what Dr. Stone is trying to do. He is not trying to come up with a new "system" where you work with this particular angel, or this particular ascended master, or where you just take spiritual initiations in order to raise your vibration. His mission is much more comprehensive than that, and hence that is why he calls upon so many masters and angels in his meditations. I have had the most incredible, positive experiences from doing the ascension meditation as found in this book, and I assure you, whether you initially "feel" it or not, the work is being done simply by your intention. Over time you will see incredible changes in your life---just keep up the good work!
I recommend that anyone who has either read this book, or is thinking about it, to visit Dr. Stone's website www.iamuniversity.org to get a sense of excitement about what this work is all about!!! :-)
Could use a little more discernment........2002-12-20
Stone certainly achieved what he set out to do- he synthesized and distilled he contents of a small new age library into a single, easy to read book. However, he could have used a bit more critical thinking. His pages are populated by an extraordinarily varied "zoo" of spiritual entities and higher agencies, all of whom can perform miraculous feats for us if we just ask. The "ascension mediation" at the end of the book, for example, appeals to about 60 spiritual agencies in its opening.
Where does all this information come from? The answer, in most cases, is: channeled information. It seems like Stone worked every entity ever mentioned by some channel into his tapestry, and still, he makes no mention of what many people consider the most reliable material in this field- Jane Roberts' Seth works.
Using cranio-sacral testing, I have investigated just how much of Stone's material is accurate. The answer I received was: about 30%. That's in line with my experience with many of Stone's suggestions to ask particular agencies for help: they don't work. Or at least, they didn't work for me. Maybe I'm just too spiritually unevolved to this kind of stuff.
That's not to say that this book is bad. On the contrary, much of Stone's advice for spiritual growth (as contained in the "147 golden keys for ascension") seems solid. But the reader would be well advised to not take any particular piece of information at face value.
Excellent & Comprehensive Book on the Path of Ascension.......2002-10-12
This book is a must read for any spiritual seeker and those that are consciously on path of ascension or spiritual evolution! I imagine anyone who considers themselves spiritually minded and open-minded will benefit greatly from this book.
The Complete Ascension: How to achieve Ascension.......2002-10-06
For those of us on this path Dr. Stone's books resonate with our soul. I have been guided since I was a child of 9 and now in my late forties I am still learning about this process. I read Dr. Stone's book eight years ago and it put everything I knew already in my soul into perspective. He showed me the actual process. My spirit already knew so when I read it I knew he was on the up and up. In other words this book is not for everyone you have to be ready to achieve ascension in this lifetime because that is your mission...I have always know it was mine. Thank you Dr. Stone for your courage and dedication! May God Bless all those who know their mission and are willing to take the steps to achieve it!

QUITE SIMPLY, ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER WRITTEN.......2004-01-05
Action and detail-packed account of the last days of Jesus Christ, ACCURATELY described and analyzed, with no opinions or guess work. Will blow anyone's mind, what Jesus Christ accomplished in such a short time, how he accomplished it, and the significance of the dates of the Hebrew calendar.
An incredible work.......1999-04-20
Is it possible that the subject of Christ's last few days of life could be set forth in a clear concise, understandable manner? Yes, this book does set forth, the accuracy of the bible, and Jesus Christs last days, as no other work has done.It should be a "must" read for all who are students and teachers of the bible.

The first "manned" hot-air balloon is about to take off! But what are those noises coming from the basket?
Based on the (POSSIBLY) true report of a day in 1783, this si the story of (PERHAPS) the bravest collection of flyers the world has ever seen, as (SORT OF) told to Marjorie Priceman.

Fun to Read!.......2007-09-04
This book has a great story line with a sense of humor. Young kids love to hear me read it when I visit their classrooms.
I recommend you buy it as one of the books your primary grade kids will fight over.
My son enjoys this.......2007-05-12
This book wasn't what I had imagined it to be. The first several pages contain a lot of words, and the last several pages are just pictures. My 6 year old son really enjoys this book, though, and asks for it at night.
Barnyard Animals Aloft.......2006-01-31
Starting with the historical facts of the first hot-air balloon ride, which took place in Versailles, France in 1783, Priceman lets her imagination - and illustrations - run wild. The first hot-air balloon aviators (i.e., the guinea pigs) were a sheep, a duck and a rooster. After a few introductory pages of text, Priceman depicts the flight with a series of wordless illustrations. The complex pictures lend themselves to careful inspection to catch all the elements of the story. In the end, our barnyard aviators land safely, which I hope this is one of the true facts of this story. 2006 Caldecott Honor Book.
Congratulations on your 2nd Caldecott Award!!!.......2006-01-27
I love this book and my children love it more. The story is hilariously told through the beautiful illustrations. The Caldecott committee made an excellent choice. This book would appeal to children of all ages.
Stratospherically Sublime.......2006-01-27
In Hot Air: The (Mostly) True Story of the First Hot-Air Balloon Ride, author and illustrator Marjorie Priceman shows once again why reviewers have christened her "the master of whimsy." Recounting the Montgolfiers 1783 test run of their balloon and imagining, with postmodern verve, the story of the duck, sheep, and rooster who formed the first flight crew, Priceman's narrative is sure to delight both young readers and parents alike. (Reassurance: no animals were harmed in the telling of this Enlightenment-era tale). But the illustrations are the real treasure here (and the Caldecott committee concurs). While infused with the same spirited energy as her earlier books--How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World, Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin, Emeline at the Circus--the panels in Hot Air glow with a luminosity that outshines even Priceman's earlier work.
