This is not as new-agey as it sounds, really. It is more of a straight up calendar type book. It goes through and does mention a whole lot of festivals and rituals and associations for the various days of the yearl.

You will get a lot of surprises about what was worshipped when, or was worthy of a festival or celebration.

The comprehensive listing of Pagan events for the year is a must have for all practitioner libraries. All paths covered in effecient detail. I highly recommend it for everyone.

Wonderful Monthly Information .......2006-03-08

This book is chuck full of information for each month and encompasses many different Pagan cultures. A wonderful resource for the curious, newsletters, calendars, event planning and for teaching/lectures. I highly recommend this book for personal and group libraries.

A little disappointing.......2005-08-16

On the down side there are quite a few missing entries for days. On the upside there is some very interesting information on the tides of the day and other calendars. I would give this 3 1/2 stars.

A great mix for the beginner.......2004-07-04

Speaking as a beginner to wicca myself, i often get mixed up with moon days and calender days because often these things are in different books. happily, the pagan book of days solves a big chunk of that problem. it's all here -- everything a beginner and possibly a full time wiccian would need to keep track of the different festivals and sacred days that happen throughout the year. i could only wish the descriptions of each days were a little longer, but as some beginners (like me) have a short attention span and just want the facts, then thats pretty much for the best I'd say.

I'd also love to give a personal kudo's to the author, Nigel, for giving a short but sweet explanation on the moon phases, as well as the tides of day. all and all, a great resource for the novice who wants it all in one place and doesn't want to delve too deeply but wants a good overview of them all. (p.s: it's fluff free. enjoy)

This is an excellent and well-illustrated book on important aspects of the ocean. It includes research findings, physical characteristics and composition of ocean waters. Tides, waves, currents, and weather are discussed. Fishing and marine life are described. The book concludes with a description of the worldwide Genesis flood. My granddaughter who aspires to become a marine biologist really loved the book. I recommend it to all!

Beautiful and God-honoring.......2007-06-27

This is another terrific book from the Wonders of Creation series. I have all the books in the series published so far. (I wrote to the publishers and they told me some more would be released this fall.) All of them have beautiful photography giving glory to the God of creation. If you are not God-fearing you will not like the text of this book, but you may still be inspired by the beautiful photography. This is a great asset to use to illustrate to your children--or anyone--how our God loves us enough to create beauty and diversity in all areas of life.

I used this book as a reference when teaching my children about the oceans. We enjoyed all the colorful pictures and the information was very useful. I have enjoyed all of Master Books Wonders of Creation series. Their books always point to God the Creator of all things. It is wonderful to read about God's creation from a creationist perspective.

I LOVE this book! I have read it three times, and each time it strengthens my knowledge of life and the Universe even more. Deepak gives scientific and spiritual information on how to live your life according to what your soul wants, therefore fulfilling your most powerful life desires the instant you ask for them. It really does work, and I consider this to be the most valuable of all the spiritual self help books I have bought to date! Buy it, you won't regret it.

Since 1995, I have listened to and read Deepak Chopra's books, tapes and CD's. Since I have TOTALLY enjoyed the tapes so well, I have upgraded to Dr. Chopra's CD audiobooks. This audiobook was patterned after my favorite audio book on tape by Dr. Chopra "Syroniticy". These tapes were listened to so many times that I just about wore the tapes out. So I ordered this CD set The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire", and I was even more impressed. It is very much like the original set of tapes, however, more updated and is again, as always, so inpirational! This is a must have set of CD's for any Deepak Chopra reader or listner!

Buy this book instead of "The Secret"!.......2007-03-01

Deepka Chopra wrote the book long before Rhonda Byrne's wrote "The Secret."
I admire Chopra's belief that if we go with the flow of the Universe and listen and look for clues that appear all around us, we will have a happier and more fulfilled life. However, he doesn't claim that if you visualize getting a diamond necklace, you will get one. "The Secret" is hogwash.

I bought this book and put the meditations into practice almost 3 years ago. As I look back, I can see that once I focused on what I wanted, I got much of it.

I wanted children.. a boy and then a girl. I got exactly that. A boy and now a girl. Coincidence? I don't know.

I really enjoy most of Deepak Chopra's books. In this book he gives you more ways to look at your life and how your can enrich it.

This is a truly wonderful book. If you want to buy a book for a child in the age range 4-8, think seriously about this book. It is the story of creation with a religious bent, but not wandering too far from scientific accuracy, leaving the reader with an environmental message and a self-affirmation.

This text has numerous photographs and illustrations. The text is a little cumbersome for some readers. It does provide opportunities for enriching scientific vocabulary. As homeschoolers, our family is using this text together with several others. This definitely shouldn't be the text of choice for very small children, but it is ideal for older, more experienced readers/scientists.

This book was very useful when teaching my children about the weather. We learned lots of interesting things, and all from the perspective that God was in control of it all. They even explain El Nino. The pictures are colorful and wonderful. Anyone could benefit from using this book.

According to medical intuitive Caroline Myss, the cravings for nature or power points is actually a craving for connection to the pagan self. Power points-places where ley lines culminate into magnetically charged vortices of energy-satisfy our myth-starved psyches. What resonates as a power point for one person may not for another. In fact, we can establish our own "power points" for grounding. Rocks, plants, crystals, aromatherapy, and so on all enhance the "pagan point" of a home, aiding in grounding.

Modern society is the most ungrounded it's ever been and this results in a type of spiritual crisis-an organic "madness" and intuitive disconnect. Your Primal Nature provides essential information for grounding and accessing our primal, natural pagan points-both within and without. I especially loved the guided meditation. I'm quite an "airy" person, exhibiting much of the symptoms that Myss explains (such as the Wanderer). After I listened to her guided meditation, visualizing the grounding copper wire snaking from my tailbone to the hot center of the earth-I became instantly grounded. It was really quite amazing how it snapped me right back into my body.

If you're the type of person who's "stuck in the head" or exhibits over-dependence on either the Child or Wanderer archetype, Your Primal Nature is an excellent teaching for cultivating your pagan point and balancing your First Chakra.

Great for your Root Chakra, being Centred and being Present........2003-05-04

This is a great CD, and I have found it to be excellent for helping to ground myself and for keeping myself strongly connected to the energy within the earth. Caroline mainly focusses on our Root (First/Base) Chakra - your Pagan Power Point . It has a helpful meditation at the end, and I think that fans of Caroline Myss will not be disappointed.

I love this CD. Caroline Myss is and will always be a leading voice in consciousness. This CD just adds to her great reputation as a teacher.

Caroline takes you on a journey into the "Earth Energy" of our selves. It's amazing how we are cut of "spiritualy" from the earth.....This CD is a one way ticket to "Connnecting" to the earth and becoming more grounded within ourselves.

As a novice gardener, I found this book to be extremely informative and inspiring in my quest to create the perfect mulch. The quick reference guide is very useful in that it provides necessary information about each type of mulch, such as decomposition speed, soil moisture retention and relative cost. I also found the section of definitions especially helpful in trying to determine the best mulch for my garden. It's amazing how many different common products can be used to create a mulch that is rich in nutrients, appealing to the eye and terrific in water retention. Overall, I view this book as a strong addition to my library of gardening books.

The Red Cross, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Salvation Army set up shelters and food lines, all working to repair the infrastructure and establish order from chaos. But engineers can't fix people, nor can retrofitted buildings heal the trauma that survivors of natural disasters experience.

Disaster survivors need more than simple advice from a grief counselor. They need a mental mechanism to cope with their emotional trauma. If you are a disaster victim, this book provides you with that mental mechanism. If you have a relative or friend who has been in a natural disaster, this book will help you understand what the person is going through and how you can help with the healing process.

Coping and moving beyond the emotional trauma works best when you use the right "tactics," tactics that are found in this book. The six tactics tell you what to do to build the mechanism you need. They offer a solution, not a diagnosis. They belong to a unified psychotherapy, not an eclectic collection of mental health exercises that merely try to make you think differently.

These tactics differ from traditional counseling in three profound ways. First, they help put you in charge of you. You become the expert on your needs and your solutions. Although the title of the book points to the treatment of trauma from natural disasters like fire, flood or earthquake, its use is easily extended to other large traumas in life: widowhood, layoff, shocking medical news like breast cancer. When I got my own shocking news, I so appreciated specific remedies which I could use right then and there - and which did much to alleviate my emotional pain and fear. For example, the "thought-voices" - those involuntary intrusions which surface day or night to send you dark, dreary and counterproductive messages - can and should be quieted to give you the space to get back on track, to get back into your life, quickly. There are techniques in this book to silence these unwanted messengers. A goal is to not linger in the trauma, not to be debilitated by it. With compassionate regard, Singer's style is clear, touching and well-written; she gets right to the point; her practices and techniques are grounded in decades of treating trauma victims; there is no "padding". I am generally super leery of therapy and self-help but give this book 5 stars and gratitude for its lucidity, practicality and the specific help that it gave me personally.

With compassionate regard, Singer's style is clear, touching and well-written; she gets right to the point; her practices and techniques are grounded in decades of treating trauma victims; there is no "padding". I am generally super leery of therapy and self-help but give this book 5 stars and gratitude for its lucidity, practicality and the specific help that it gave me personally.
