Book Description
As a beleaguered galaxy fights its way back from the brink of destruction, the Jedi’s most fearsome enemy plots to end the war–and claim victory–with a final act of domination. . . .
The troubles for the embattled living planet Zonama Sekot have just begun. As Luke Skywalker and Jacen Solo negotiate its place in the galactic struggle against the Yuuzhan Vong, one of its organic ships is taken by the alien invaders. Scientist Nen Yim is ordered to use the captive to find weak spots in Zonama Sekot’s technology. But what Nen Yim discovers about the planet and its mysteries shocks her to the core. Clearly her people have gone terribly astray. For the peace-loving planet harbors not only the key to its own destruction, but the long-forgotten secrets of the Yuuzhan Vong themselves.
Meanwhile, General Wedge Antilles, commanding one fleet in a three-pronged campaign to retake the Bilbringi system, is suddenly stranded deep in Yuuzhan Vong space, cut off from all contact. Wedge and his ships must rely on trickery and brilliant battle tactics if they are to survive long enough to ensure the success of one of the deadliest and most crucial missions the Galactic Alliance forces
have ever seen. . . .

Keyes Redeems as Best he Can.......2007-06-23
Let this be known: NJO's ending bit only lifts because Keyes is here. This bad rating is more directed at the series in general. I have nothing against Mr. Keye's work. He is great at bringing out characters and has redeemed Tahiri, who, up until now, has been a lonely, sad, depressed, character with little potential of recovering.
Keyes turns Tahiri into the star of this book and has her save the day on a few occasions, a nice turn around from the drone the previous books had taken.
Keye deserves a four for his effort, but this book doesn't make the cut as a part of the series. It does a good job of brining back a decent, detailed and deep perspective that was lost in the chaos of the other novels. Tahiri brings a strong point to the series, hats off to Mr. Keyes for saving the series at least at the end.
But some of the plot is dragged out to have Nom Anor as a religious leader bent on destroying Zenoma Sekot, which is dropped from the plot near the end. And next Jacen is attempted at being made into a better character, but not a hero.
I started to feel that this is a run on, the other books before this (after Star by Star) were a drawn out filler for the "explosive" final battle. I don't really know why Zenoma Sekot was introduced, it really makes no sense at all, (but this is not Mr. Keye's fault). It doesn't push the plot forward, it's interesting, but not progressive.
Star Wars novels NEED to be progressive and mostly upbeat. This is mostly filler for the ending. It stopped being interesting the mintute the grim side set in. (Which started with Chewie's death).
Way too many sacrifices and too many backstabbing characters, and martyrs being made.
Enough Already!!! Just replace the person in charge of this mess and give Keyes something good to work with!!
He's a good writer with little potential to work with after Star by Star. I was hoping he'd draw out the relationship between Tahiri and Anakin as soon as I saw this book. I never imagined Star Wars would throw out a junky ending to a series, but, I guess it happens.
The original outline for the series wasn't any better (See my review for the next book for reference) and the idea of killing off the younger heroes or the favorite main characters is ASKING for fans to get mad. I see little point in continuing to make Star Wars any more morbid. I read the Dark Nest Triology and I stopped. It was all filler.
I'm waiting for the good writers to get together and bring Star Wars back to life. Until then RIP, Star Wars, you were great.
Best book in the series in a while.......2006-01-23
The Final Prophecy is the eighteenth book in a nineteen volume saga taking place more than two decades following the death of the second Death Star at Endor. This was a very good read. It continued the sequence of the Force Heretic trilogy that preceeded this, and although those were decent reads, this was superior in many ways. There was hardly a wasted word or page in this one. The storyline was interesting and there was little in this book that didn't contribute to the overall storyline.
Luke and his party are still on Zonama Sekot en route to the known galaxy. Meanwhile, Tahiri and Corran Horn meet up with three very different Yuuzhan Vong, each with their own wildly varying agendas. Together, they all find an uninhabited section of Zonama Sekot. Two of the three Yuuzhan Vong exhibit significant changes, but one remains unchanged, always scheming and plotting to get himself ahead of everyone else.
While all of this is going on on Zonama Sekot, Wedge Antilles is leading an assault along with Grand Admiral Pallaeon to retake Bilbringi. Only, something is definately not right when communications suddenly and inexplicably go dead. This kills the battle plan and Wedge and his entire fleet are fighting for their lives. Enter profiteers trying to steal an antiquated battle station formerly in orbit around Bilbringi. Jaina and Jag are in the middle of things, and Han and Leia come to the rescue...again.
The end of the novel leaves two massive problems for the Galactic Alliance to deal with. One deals with communications, while the other focuses on Zonama Sekot. I will leave it for you to read the book in order to find out what they are dealing with.
I loved the book.......2006-01-23
it is all about the origins of the Yuuzhan vong and of Zonama Sekot a highly interesting book i am sad that i dont remember all the details but then again i have read so manny that i tend to forget where one book end and the other begins...
Anyway if you enjoy star wars it is indeed a book i would recomend.
fairly easy reading level.
Rebound for the NJO.......2004-07-27
After the mediocre Force Heretic trilogy, the New Jedi Order story arc was in serious need of a novel to turn things around. Greg Keyes was up to the task with 'The Final Prophecy.' Keyes' novel shifts the focus of the story away from the most familiar characters in the Star Wars universe and places it in the hands of some lesser knowns. The result makes for an excellent read.
The story features Tahiri and Corran Horn. Tahiri is still integrating her two personalities: her old self, the Jedi student, and a Yuuzhan Vong personality engrafted into her by the shapers of the invading Yuuzhan Vong race. Tahiri has become one of the most interesting, if not the most interesting, characters of the NJO. She is not a cliched Jedi character. Many revelations into her character are made over the course of the novel.
Corran Horn is familiar to most readers of Star Wars novels. He has played a part in many of the best novels to date. He agrees to lead a mission to Coruscant to retrieve the shaper Nem Yin and the Prophet of the Shamed Ones of the Yuuzhan Vong, and to take them to the planet of prophecy--Zenoma Sekot. Tahiri joins him primarily because she made a promise to a dying shamed one that she would find the planet, and because her Vong abilities and knowledge would be of particular use on the mission.
The relationship between Tahiri and Corran Horn is classic Star Wars. There is a sense of mistrust at the beginning of the novel, but the two characters settle into a mentor/student relationship nicely. Keyes' ability to write a novel that feels like Star Wars without relying heavily on the classic characters of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, or Princess Leia speaks well of his abilities.
The interaction between the Jedi is one of the great strengths of the novel. Another strength is the action sequecnes. Keyes does a superb job with both the hand-to-hand, or light saber to amphistaff, combat as well as the detailing the fight between General Antilles' fleet and that of the Vong in space.
The only weakness of the novel is that once again, a NJO series novel relies heavily on Zenoma Sekot, the sentient planet. Sekot still seems like it should be in the Star Trek universe, not in the Star Wars universe. Fortunately, clues laid in previous novels about the origins and mystery of Sekot start to unfold in this novel in a way that makes the series and the tie in to 'Rogue Planet,' a prequel era novel, make sense. Still, I would rather have seen the authors of the NJO work out a solution to the Vong in a different way.
I highly recommend this novel. Star Wars fans will enjoy it. Those that prefer reading about the classic characters would be better off reading a different novel. I'd still recommend reading the NJO from the beginning, which is R.A. Salvatore's 'Vector Prime,' and I'd recommend reading 'Rogue Planet' in order to understand the prequel era tie-in. However, this novel could be read without leaving a new reader too confused.
great book.......2004-03-31
this is one of the better books that have come out in a while.
corran and tahiri form an alliance with an unlikely group of vong to find the living planet zonama sekot. what each of the people in the group fails to realize is everyone has their own agenda and no one trusts each other so it makes for an interesting journey. the book gives us a closer look at the new tahiri which is sweet and well thought out. this book actually looks like the author put some thought into it becasue some of the previous ones were true sleepers.
as a filler the author has wedge attilles fighting in a sector cut off from everyone else and vastly outnumbered. this part was ok but the fights with the vong is getting a little old and it is time to wrap up this wonderful series and start with something new.

Great book!.......2007-09-01
Think of a Spirit filled Lord of the Rings. This book is a vision about the Way, the Kingdom, and Spiritual warfare. It's awesome and it will pump you up.
I had to put it down numerous times while I read because my heart was wrecked.
Rick Joyner and MorningStar ministries helped build my Spiritual foundation and brought me into experiencing God the way He wants us to experience Him: on a deep, personal and radical level. This ministry is saturated in integrity and the power of God.
Perhaps Helpful, Perhaps Not.......2007-08-25
While I found this book encouraging sometimes, I must join in with those who are a bit skeptical. I am kind of wary because there seem to be people who classify it as 'life-changing.' If people just found it encouraging, or an interesting idea, or something like that, I may consider agreeing.
But it really seems that Joyner acts falsely humble, and comes across often as quite arrogant. I feel like those who don't really think about it will say, 'Oh yes! This is so life-changing!' This can be fine and good, unless what it suggests is wrong. Then it may be life-changing, but it is changing lives in the wrong direction. So I don't deny that people find it life-changing (they, of course, would know its impact on themselves better than anyone else).
I really do think it is headed in the wrong direction, particularly the levels of heaven. I believe that a central part of Christianity is that it is by grace that people have been saved. And it is by grace that we have any talents, gifts, or anything good. If Joyner really thinks he has something that makes him 'better' or get to be closer to the throne than others, why does he take credit for it? Anything redeemable that he has done in his life is by God's grace and through his God-given talents and abilities. But he seems to bypass this, and thinks he deserves more than others to be closer to God.
I finished this book but was quite discouraged afterwards. Some of the message was alright, but I was greatly discouraged at the thought of what it may do to people who accept anything that sounds good. And being able to do your own works to get yourself placed higher in his hierarchical heaven might sound good to people because, well, it is in their control. But I think this is terribly wrong and brings people away from the true message of grace.
Final Quest.......2007-05-07
Was not on time, but Amazon reimbursed me for my rushed shipping. The book was in great shape (new), and the service was good.
Allegory or Prophecy? Both?.......2007-05-07
There is a certain irony in that we will not know the accuracy of Joyner's "prophecy" until the end when we will neither care nor will it matter.
In the meantime, perhaps it is sufficient that it causes us to pause and evaluate our own walk, our own battle, and our own Lord.
Joyner cuts to the chase in his observations of the modern church - either asleep in the light or too light and frivolous to matter very much. The enemy of the brethren knows us well - our faults and failures which serve as vulnerabilities. He is wily and cunning. He uses the divisions of the church as a weapon lest the body finds common ground to unite and defeat him.
The author's views of heaven and the judgement seat are breath-taking. I believe Joyner has this right, too. We will all be laid bare before the Lord and grateful for His grace and mercy. Heaven itself will be more awesome and glorious than we can know. It is not strange that the saints of old look forward to the victories of today's believers: Hebrews 11 and 12 say so.
The book is an inspiration to the believer and an encouragement to "put on the whole armor of God" each day and contend for the faith. Speaking the truth in love is the believer's greatest responsibility, highest calling, and reasonable service. The Father's love is the greatest gift and power.
Allegory or prophecy? We'll see more clearly when we get home.
A Life-Changing Book!!!.......2007-05-07
This book opened my eyes to a whole new dimension of reality in Christ.
It's a must-read book for every Christian.

Book Description
Former missionary to Muslims, Robert Livingston uncovers a credible connection between Islam, America, and the Church in End-times Bible prophecy. He challenges the reader to examine their priorities in view of the reality of Christ's return.
Customer Reviews:
Frightful yet realistic and plausible read.......2007-07-15
A must read for all Christians, Muslims, Agnostics, and even Atheists. End of days? Considering the attitude of "peace at all cost" prevalent in our society, and the treatment of Islam as a sacred cow you must to read this book. All you who have an ear, and a mind, hear and believe. Prophesy aside, this is the most plausible outcome I have ever seen to today's half measures and effeminate actions regarding radical Islam. Can you say Allah U' Akbar? Allah = "God", U = "and", Akbar = "pagan Arab god of fire." Read and be afraid!!
The Final Clash!!!.......2007-04-27
Robert Livingston is among the growing authors who are "crying in the wilderness" and sounding the alarm of the threat of Islam to traditional Christians and their faith. In his book, he takes off the veil of Islam to reveal its underpinnings, and does so with a great deal of compassion, tact, and understanding, as well as love for the Muslim people. Unlike what another reviewer stated, he doesn't spend the first half of the book on showing off his post-tribulation theory, although he is quick to point out that the Biblical support for a "snatching away" before the outpouring of God's wrath just isn't there. On the contrary, though, he points out that prior to the Great Tribulation occurring, the Church of Jesus Christ must follow their Master's teaching and bring the Gospel to every creature before the end comes. He speaks with a great deal of passion on missions and our responsibility to it. And then he digs deep into Scripture to reveal what he believes the "Beast" system is, as well as the players. He doesn't set down timelines, but he does suggest that the Christian who is devoted to Christ should be making an effort at getting their houses in order and living a holy life devoted to God. This is an amazing book, and towards the end of the book, he gives numerous resources to assist the believer in not only Missions, but other helps to reach out to the Muslim people. A fantastic book!!! Beyond 5 Stars.
Cherry picking from Scripture.......2006-11-16
Author Robert Livingston clearly shares Christ's love for people trapped in the bondage of Islam. The last part of his book does present the Gospel and offers many resources for Christians who will answer the Lord's call to bring to Muslims the good news of eternal life through faith in Jesus. Livingston is also not deceived by the claim that Islam is peaceful or that "moderate" Muslims can restrain those who follow what Koran and Hadith truly teach.
That said, serious Bible students - regardless of their eschatological beliefs - will find Final Clash fatally flawed. The first 270 pages are basically a rant arguing for a late Trib Rapture. Livingston supports his argument with verses cherry-picked from Scripture. Many verses with great significance to the end times, such as the feet and toes of iron and clay in Daniel 2:40-43 or the miraculous second Exodus of the Jews in Jeremiah 23:7-8 are simply ignored. Other verses are twisted, so in 2Thes.2:4 the anti-Christ does not stand in the temple showing himself as God but a Muslim terrorist turned politician who claims to be Jesus returned from the dead (in accordance with Islamic prophecy) stands in the Dome of the Rock telling people to worship Allah.
In Livingston's defense, he admits he originally held a post-millenial or preterist view and believed major portions of prophecy had already been fulfilled. Evidently, he got on the mission field and discovered that Koran and Hadith present a description of the end times that coincides remarkably well with Bible prophecy but from the point of view of those who reject Jesus and follow the anti-Christ. Since, by his background, Livingston disavowed the idea that God will rapture the Church before the Tribulation and shift His focus back to Israel for the last seven years, he was left to come up with the novel interpretation of prophecy he presents in Final Clash.
And that interpretation is truly novel. In Final Clash, the woman astride the beast is the Statue of Liberty and the anti-Christ's Babylon is New York City, or the U.S., or maybe Jerusalem. The first 3.5 years of the Tribulation took place from A.D. 66 to 70 and there will be no rebuilt third Temple and the fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy of no stone left upon another awaits the destruction of the Wailing Wall.
Livingston's reasons for viewing the U.S. as the Babylon of Revelation seem to come as much from ignorance as to how the Reformation impacted political, legal, and economic thought - particularly in the founding of the U.S. - as from a misreading of Scripture. He presents without comment a document that claims the Declaration of Independence rests on Libertarianism - the idea that consent is the basis of morality. Like many Christians today, he appears unable to explain that the U.S. was founded on Biblical principles or that institutions like capitalism and democracy derive directly from Biblical moral rules like don't steal and don't murder.
Most importantly, Livingston fails to emphasize the point that the greatest threat from Islam in the immediate future - and the threat that seems to coincide most closely with Bible prophecy - is not terrorism but "peaceful Jihad." Peaceful Jihad is the steady growth in the political influence of Islam that results naturally as Muslims make up an increasing share of the population. We see this playing out around the world today but particularly in Europe, a location to which Bible scholars have traditionally attached much greater prophetic significance than does Livingston. History shows that the light of Christianity is extinguished in lands that fall subject to Islam. The key characteristic of the modern age is that Islamic domination can come about through the ballot box today much more easily than it could in the past by violent conquest.
Final Clash IS worth reading for its explanation of Islamic eschatology and - especially - for Chapter 15 "What will America Do?" that is a chilling account of how easily an Islamic anti-Christ could conquer the world with the twin threats of nuclear war or internal revolution for nations that fail to submit. "Who can wage war against him?"
Bible students wanting to search the Scripture to be sure of what they believe will also find the book useful, if a little tedious, but don't look for an exegesis of prophecy that includes all the relevant portions of Scripture in Livingston's Final Clash.
Other titles available at amazon that relate to subjects touched on in Final Clash include:
1. Paul Sperry's Infiltration - the growth of Islam's influence in the U.S. today.
2. Bill Musk's The Unseen Face of Islam - an eye-opening, heart-rending description of the spiritual bondage of Islam and how missionaries wage spiritual warfare
3. George Otis, Jr.'s The Last of the Giants - on the spiritual warfare underlying the Church's efforts to complete the Great Commission
4. Andrew C. McLaughlin's The Foundations of American Constitutionalism - on the role of religion in the American founding
5. William Wagner's How Islam Plans to Change the World - also only three stars, but noteworthy for how God is intervening directly on the mission field.
General concept is good but not overall interpretation.......2006-07-05
I happen to agree with the belief that the beast of Revelation is based in Islam, but I disagree with his details. I disagree with his interpretation of the first four seals, the two horned beast, the mark of the beast, all of it. However, there is another book that also says the beast is based in Islam that has much better insight and understanding of the details, and that is "The Scarlet Beast: Islam and the Beast of Revelation," that can also be found here on amazon. It is much more accurate and insightful.
Rubbish!.......2006-06-21
Like the vast majority of books on "the end times" this one is pure religious science fiction.
For a Scripturally sane and classically Christian view I recommend LAST DAYS MADNESS by Gary Demar, THE BEAST OF REVELATION by Kenneth Gentry Jr., DAYS OF VENGEANCE by David Chilton [just reprinted!] THE GREATNESS OF THE GREAT COMMISSION by Kenneth Gentry Jr., POSTMILLENIALISM: AN ESCHATOLOGY OF HOPE by Keith A. Mathison and HE SHALL HAVE DOMINION: A POSTMILLENIAL ESCHATOLOGY by Kenneth Gentry Jr.
These books fully engage and Scripturally refute the lunatic ravings which have prevailed since the days of Scofield and Darby.

Wouldn't Waste My Time!.......2007-05-27
I almost bought this book until I heard Art Bell interview Ms. Keating on Coast To Coast AM. Fifteen minutes into the interview made me realize that this woman is a complete nutjob! If you like reading the opinions of religious wackos who think that we are all going to PAY for every impure thought that we have, go for it! She reminds me of those evil nuns of bygone days, who used to beat the little boys for looking at the girls and give the girls ugly haircuts so that they wouldn't tempt the boys! This woman is so sexually repressed and puritanical that she told Art Bell that the women who tempt him and cause him to have sexual thoughts will have to answer to God and pay for those sins!
That is about as far as I got in the interview. I wouldn't read this woman's books if she autographed them and GAVE them to me!
Time to read this again.......2006-09-11
Kathleen Keating presents many different areas of interest as she answers the questions: "What are the signs of the times? And how shall we prepare?"
Those emeshed in the day to day world of commerce and confusion seem to always rubbish the book. Don't be so easily swayed.
This book contains information that may be vital to you some day. Think of it in some ways as a cookbook. You won't like every recipe, but one just may be perfection. So you may find in the pages things that do not interest you while at the same time you may find something that is heaven-sent.
Good for a laugh.......2003-11-21
The final warning seems to be that god is going to send a comet to earth to destroy all those who don't believe. However you will be safe as long as you are a true believer. You will be safe from earthquakes if you sprinkle holy oil around your door. You will be able to drink the contaminated water as long as you put some drops of holy water in it. She even conveniently puts a form at the back of the book so you can buy all the holy things you are going to need to survive. The author's evidence is mainly from visionary's and the bible. The rest is all spectulation on her part. Some parts of the book were very amusing however.
Stand Up! Stand Up! Can't You Stand Up For Her?!.......2003-08-26
This book is one of most courageous books I have ever read in my 54 years. It matters little what you say, or promise people. But it very much matters what you DO. And this one woman, a consummate professional investigative journalist is not intimidiated by the evils of bumper-sticker thinkers, mob-mentalities, gone-awry governments, or alleged "religious" bastions of wealth and power. She takes them all on in "The Final Warning." The message is simple: Keep your eyes on the skies, and remember to hold fast to your faith. You will need it -- now, and tomorrow. Our choice (and each of us must make it...) is simple: evil (Lucifer); or Goodness & Mercy (Our Lord,Jesus Christ). Thank goodness, however, Ms. Keating has done the lion's share of work for us by laying down her glove --and much, much more to provide us with help (to light and guide) which could only be distilled from The Divine.
Not Worth the read..........2002-12-24
I heard this author on Art Bell's show 'Coast to Coast'. In the book, only her way is correct on translations of the final days. Actually, the book is alot of gibbish, and more sci-fi/horror than anything. It could be considered a scare tactic to unnerve the populace.
Believe me, this book isn't all that it's cracked up to be. It's really not that good. If you want to read about the New Millennium, read Edgar Cayce, or Nostradamus. They give a more open, more exact way of the new millennium

Excellent Book Reveals the Awful Truth.......2007-05-15
Christians today are being mislead by lying pastors who are deceived and are going about deceiveing others and this book exposes these false shepherds invading churches of all sizes. Jesus warned us, even commanded us... not to be deceived, yet millions of Christians just don't care to abide by the Bible (God's Word) and that's where the wolves move in for the kill. They have already devoured "most all churches" in America and turned them into apostate churches(likely, you too... but you must be brave enough to open your eyes to see the devastation being done).
This book is very informative and written to be easily understood. You will learn that its not so much what is being taught by your pastor in your church that is apostate, it is what he is "not teaching" that creates a different Gospel, a different faith, a different Jesus, a false Gospel and an apostate religion. This apostate chuch appears and sounds like a real Christian church, but it is no way compatible to the real Jesus and defies much of God's Word. The end-times apostasy is truly a brilliant scheme and this book will absolutely help you to see it unravel before your very eyes! It will amaze you just how powerful these apostate churches can be.
As a Christian book publisher, JamesRussellPublishing.com, I do not publish this book and I do not know the author. However, I have read this book and I fully endorse it as a wonderful publication to help you get free from the entrapment of the end-times-church system.
This is not a small book, it is huge and packed with tons of wisdom. Every Christian on the planet needs to read this book! It also makes a wonderful gift. Buy some books for your family members and friends and donate some to the public library system. People need to read this book!
The Lord needs more workers for the harvest and this book proclaims the true Gospel and exposes the false pastors and teachers operating churches robbing the flock of money, their faith and their soul. Consider this book one giant Gospel tract targeted toward decieved Christians!
Grounded in the KJV Bible.......2006-05-23
This book is probably best suited for mature Christians who already know the Word and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. It is a fascinating book. Lots of insights about motives and heresies in churches today. As with all books proclaiming the "Truth"...use discernment.
Confused and prone to wandering.......2005-06-23
I wrote an extensive critique of this work as it appears online at tektonics.org (under heading, "Apostasy Now"). Despite some "even a broken clock is right twice a day" points, The Great Dream is overall a worthless tour de force of mangled exegesis. The author is manic, paranoid, and doesn't think of anything beyond his limited world of experience.
"The Great Dream" is the inevitable result when a Christian consumes spiritual Twinkies rather than meat. Read my extensive critique before you give this lunatic your money.
Great book.......2004-12-12
I do not have much to say that has not already been said. But I just want to say that this book is great.
Excellent!.......2004-06-15
This book has answered many of our questions regarding issues we have seen/experienced over the last 20 years. When comparing the first century church with what it has morphed into today you get a much clearer understanding of what Jesus the Messiah was saying in Matt 7. A must read for those who sense something is wrong with modern Churchdom but just can't seem to put a finger on what it is.

Book Description
Pastor John Hagee never dreamed that his life would change the night he took a bold stand against terrorism and anti-Semitism in his own hometown. Though his life was threatened, his property destroyed, and his peace of mind rocked, he stood with and supported the people of prophecy...and found his eyes opened to unimaginable horrors, unbearable atrocities, and unspeakable joys.
In his dealings with the nation of Isreal, the true people of prophecy, he has uncovered secret treasures of spiritual insights available to all believers...and a blueprint for the rapidly approaching end times.
Customer Reviews:
It achieves it's goal, but is still wrong.......2005-11-23
The problem I have with some book reviews is that they criticize the author, but never review the actual book in question. If you scan the reviews of John Hagee's books you will find that people wish to pick on him about his salary or the fact that he preaches hate or whatever they wish to rant about. I am not going to offer a full-fledged review, but will make some observations without personally attacking Pastor Hagee. I harbor no ill will against him in any way, but do not fully agree with his conclusions.
John Hagee's purpose is to inform believers in Christ that the Church's task is now to support the nation of Israel founded in 1948 and Jerusalem in 1967. He points out several times that God will "bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel." John Hagee is proudly a Christian Zionist and he intends to promote Zionism in this book. He does accomplish his task and that is why I gave it two stars. He achieves his purpose with numerous historical references to how Jews have been persecuted throughout history and even accuses the Church, especially the Catholic Church as being responsible, and he is somewhat correct in his assertions. He does conveniently leave out how Jews have persecuted Christians, but that does not excuse Christians from acting in non-Christian ways toward anybody, much less towards Jews. The way he presents his argument, however, sounds to me at least pro Israel and anti-Church.
Hagee, takes great pride in his "Israeli Intelligence" information and he overwhelms the reader with insights that one wonders if he is a foreign diplomat instead of a Bible belt preacher. Hagee, writes like he preaches, and some like it and some do not, but that is his style. He is clear and concise in what he says and he is not afraid to state emphatically his opinions and he gives many in this book.
Now, let me briefly set down what I view to be the fundamental error of this book. Hagee, in my opinion, misses the person and mission of Jesus entirely. I know this is a strong statement to make against such a popular preacher and please do not get me wrong, I have nothing against Pastor Hagee personally, but he misses something fundamental and that is what Jesus came to accomplish. Let me be concise and point out exactly what he misses. First, Jesus came to fulfill the role of the nation of Israel himself. He is the servant of Isaiah, which is Israel (just ask any Jewish Rabbi). The Rabbi's are right that the servant is Israel, but wrong in that they miss that Jesus fulfills the role of Israel. Israel was God's son, but at the baptism of Jesus the heavens open and a voice says, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." Earlier than this in Matthew's gospel you have the quotation "Out of Egypt I have called my son." This originally applied to Israel and the Exodus from Egypt, but is applied to Jesus by Matthew. There are many other proofs of this, but read N. T. Wright for further development on this fact.
Second, Jesus himself replaces the Temple and is the Temple. Christians are not looking for the Temple to be rebuilt in Jerusalem; we worship right now at the Temple in Christ. Jesus said "You destroy this Temple and I will raise it again in three days." He clearly calls his body the temple. Hagee misses this entirely. He also misses the meaning of Ephesians 2:11-22 where they that are in Christ are in the Temple whether they be Jew or Gentile. In fact, one new man is created in Christ. Jesus is the Temple and they that are in Christ are in the only Temple that matters. The Church is never called to get "Jews back to their homeland", but is called to get them to Christ who is the true Temple of God. Why is Hagee wanting the Church to help Jews to get back to set up a Temple in literal Jerusalem so that they can engage in something that has been done away with and is now only found in Christ? The Church is called a Holy Nation and a Royal Priesthood, what does this mean to Hagee? Paul says in Galatians 3:26ff "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor femal, for you are one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." This passage means what it says whether Hagee likes it or not. In order to be Abraham's seed you have to be in Christ. It does not matter what your lineage is according to the flesh. John Hagee's interpretation is the same as the Zealots at the time of Jesus and they were wrong. Jesus will triumph through the preaching of the Gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation for all who believe, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." It is unfortunate that many in the Church listen to Hagee and the Christian Zionist, because they are mistakenly missing most of the New Testament's message.
John Hagee says in another book of his ("Attack on America" where he addresses the 911 terrorist attack on the twin towers),
that America needed to respond with military force against Al Queda. On his program he sanctioned the attack on Iraq. He is a spokesman for the Church of Jesus Christ. What is he suggesting that the real weapons of our warfare are? I know John Hagee thinks he is right, but he really needs to access what the mission of the Church is and not what the mission of the USA is. He claims to be an ambassador for Christ, so He should speak as an ambassador for Christ instead of an advocate for the Republican Party or Zionism.
The Past and The Present... History and Prophecy.......2005-07-09
"Final Dawn Over Jerusalem", written by pastor John Hagee, was given to me a few years ago and now that I've gotten around to reading it, I'm glad I did.
The first chapter begins with the June 7, 1981 Israeli bombing on Iraq's $260 million nuclear reactor and all its technical equipment, thwarting Saddam Hussein's ability to build an atomic bomb. Because this was a decade before Hussein's attack on Kuwait, many could not understand the need for this defensive tactic and Prime Minister Menachem Begin was therefore looked upon as being too aggressive. Pastor John Hagee organized a massive public demonstration in support of Israel (now an ongoing annual event called, "A Night To Honor Israel") in spite of threats to his life, while asking, "Why is the world so quick to turn against Israel? Why has Christianity persecuted the Jews for 2,000 years? How logical is it for Christians to praise dead Jews of the past - Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Jesus, and Paul - while cursing the Jewish people of the present?" - questions he attempts to answer within this book.
Written from a religious viewpoint with biblical citations, I found it to be interesting in fact of customs, historical knowledge, research and explanation. If you have never before read one of the many books about the horrors of the Holocaust or other accounts of Jewish persecution that took place around the world, this book's summary in the chapter called, "The Crucifixion of The Jews", might be a shocking one - but also enlightening of the degree and time frame of such persecutions and deliberate murder of more than six million Jews.
Under the subtitle, "Malicious Myths About Jewish People", we find some of them are ignorance and fear (based upon ignorance). Other reasons for prejudice is jealousy and the drive to confiscate property which happened time and time again, until Israel was reborn in 1943 (although the threat of losing land is still a continuing one) - a once barren desert now blooming in fertility and production. Another disturbing reason the Jews have been the most persecuted of people is religious motivation of the Christian of every era (now Islam joins the fray) mostly due to the belief that the Jews killed Jesus.
In "Final Dawn Over Jerusalem" logical explanation is given in order to disprove this assumption. For instance, Herod was Roman and not Jewish. Had Jesus been put to death by Jews, it would have been via stoning, not crucifixion which was the Roman way. (No wonder Christians and Jews see the cross in different ways.) Even the mob scene was an orchestrated plot by Ciaphas (also a Roman and second in command to Herod) and consisted of Pharisees - religious separatists who made up only 1% of the Jewish population at that time, albeit very powerful and influential. Judas was not an ethnic Jew and some believe he was probably a spy for Herod from the beginning of his time with Jesus.
Although I have learned much from "Final Dawn Over Jerusalem", and it went a long way in explaining the constant thriving conditions of anti-Semitism within the hearts of some, I still have found no answers to the questions first asked, unless to accept the postulation of John Hagee and others: "Anti-Semitism is a demonic spirit from the bowels of hell."
The Chosen People and Their Capital City.......2004-01-01
In this book, Pastor John Hagee explores the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and proves conclusively, Christianity was born in the Synagogue, not in a Church or Mosque. He then reviews Jerusalem's pivotal role in international events, and ends with prophesies for the future supported by scripture. The result is a scathing indictment and warning against anti-Semitism.
Hagee begins with a review of well-documented crimes against Jews perpetrated, through the ages, by people claiming to be Christians. The perverted gospel they preached and practiced was, persecute a Jew and God will reward you for avenging the murder of his son. His next chapter is entitled, "Who Really Killed Christ." Readers will gain many scriptural and historical insights from these short passages.
Next, he narrates Jerusalem's crucial role in international events, past, present and future. He describes the elation of battle hardened, Israeli soldiers who became the first Jews to pray at the Wailing Wall in 2000 years after recapturing their ancient capital in 1948. He then mentions the four wars that have followed it. In each case, Israel triumphed over militarily superior Arab forces, proving God has never and will never abandon his chosen people.
Hagee closes with predictions for the future. He states plainly no "roadmap" or any other "peace settlement" that takes land away from ancient Israel will stand. God himself established the boundaries of Israel and personally bequeathed it to the Jews. No manmade treaty can change this.
The only thing missing is a plea for the Jews to finally recognize Jesus as the Messiah. Certainly, they are the chosen people of God and are directly responsible for the spread of Christianity worldwide. Had this been done, I would have given it five stars instead of four. Still, Hagee does a masterful job of explaining historical events in light of biblical prophecy. Well done!!
If you build a bigger lie ..........2003-09-20
I am amazed at the number of reviews given to this book that make no mention of the overt anti-Catholic bigoted tone of this thing. Did we read the same book?
It's always popular to stand and wave a flag that says you stand against anti-Semitism and in favor of the Jews taking their proper place in the world etc etc., and that's fine. But, when did it become acceptable to exchange hatred for Jews for hatred for Catholics?
If that's the way you think, you'll love this book.
If, however, you're more than a bit concerned about being spit on by the books not so hidden agenda of Catholic bashing, then you'll be wasting your time with it.
If you relish the thought that you could be an "insider" knowing things that Jesus himself told you He didn't know, then this is your meat. If you can justify telling yourself that you're smarter than the Savior, or at least the author of the book is, then this one will scratch your ears quite nicely.
Although I respect Hagee, I didn't like the book.......2003-05-11
I love reading books on biblical prophecy, and respect Hagee as a pastor and writer, however this book seemed to be nothing more than a self loathing book... at least for the first part of it. We should all be horrified at the attrocities the jews have had to face throughout history and understand that they have a central role in biblical prophecy, and I consider myself a very pro-Israel person, but I don't think God wants us to treat Israel as a nation that can do no wrong no matter what they do.
What got me the most is how Hagee stresses in the book that the leading Pharisees and teachers of the law during Jesus' day in no way represents all jews (I agree), but then talks as if all christians have blood on their hands from christian persecution of the jews in past centuries (I disagree). If the Jewish leaders of the first century don't represent the jews today, then centuries old christians don't represent christians today. No one is gonna tell me that I am guilty because of what people who called themselves christians did in the past.
The second part of the book had some interesting points of prophecy, so I gave it two stars, but the first part ruined it.

A Sad Mistake.......2006-08-12
This book, although it contains some truths, has a severe blight in it: Hal pushed the Y2K threat which came to nothing. Obviously some of non-Christians are going to use that against Christians and probably have, claiming that we are gullible. I don't recommend reading this book at all, and if you are going to buy it, only get it as a warning as to why not to assume things and to have thorough evidence for what you say unless you are claiming it is an opinion.
China Syndrome.......2005-07-21
Wahhabi Islamic Fundamentalism Iran is the greatest threat to freedom and world peace. Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani exports two idealogies central as Islamic objectives: 1. unite all of the Islamic nations under the leadership of a coalition led by Iran and Syria. The intent is too drive the west out of the Middle East and liberate Palestine for the Arabs. 2. Replace the Judeo Christian idealogy with Islamic idealogy.
1991, Leonard Spector told a congressional subcommittee, China has helped Algeria in developing a nuclear program. Iran views China as a key strategic partner in providing military weapons. Lindsey states that Iran has been fitting nucs in warheads of Iranian - Chinese Silk Missiles.
China is the one of the "Kings of the East" and has 1.2 billion people. China is moving into a market economy and some of the best capitalist in the world live are Chinese. The Chinese people may be the most naturally capitalist people in the world. China has 16 million new private industry. However, economic commonsense does not equate too recipical military cooperatoin and political prudence.
Rev 9:16 describes a 200 million soldier army. The only country, in the 20th century that could assemble such number is China. China has intermediate range nuclear weapons and nuclear submarines.
Iranians acquired nuclear technology from China and Russia. North Korea shipped 100 x 300 km range scuds missiles to Iran. Iran has received 250 missiles from Russia, North Korea, and China. Weapons sales fuels China's desparate need for foreign currency. Saudi received 50-60 ballastic missiles from China. Iranian states its nuclear technology is being used for commerical energy production and it does not intend on diverting nuclear technology for military usage.
Lindsey says, "Neither democracy nor economic development will alter the deep seated anti Westernism of China and radical Islam. China will continue to arm the most anti Western elements in the Islamic World and use them to divert pressure from China".
Resource wars. China and Russia will dispute borders, however, in the second phase of the conflict, Lindsey predicts, Asia will finish off Russia, march in to claim its bounty - Russian oil reserves and the oil reserves of the Persian gulf.
Close-up Finale .......2005-03-29
Mr. Lindsey's 'Final Chapter' continues his asiduous efforts detailing the finish of mankind's history.
For all who are enamored of eschatological study and so benefited from the myriad chronicles of Hal, 'Planet Earth' provides additional enjoyment, edification and education as our world threads through the final tapestry of this age.
One imagines that perusing these works in retrospect during the millenium will astound many at how close the Captain hove to the line as he sailed the course set before him.

Some good information, but a dry presentation.......2003-06-01
There's a lot of very good information in this book, some useful analysis, but the writing is so dry and bland that I had a difficult time getting through the novel. If this writer only had the ability of a writer like C.S. Lewis who wrote the Screwtape letters or Brian Caldwell who wrote We All Fall Down, I think that this would be a perfect book. As it is, the information is useful, but it's a drag getting to it.
A must to read!!!.......2003-04-25
I would recommend this book and all of Hal's books to everyone.
They are all eazy reading, giving me understanding of the Bible and God that I had never known before, Hal has saved my life through his writtings. The fact is the more you read his books the more you want!!

Book Description
Two days before He died, Jesus gave His closest followers a sweeping panorama of earth's final days. Responding to questions about the end times, Jesus' great speech on the Mount of Olives described the tribulation and His second coming - and offered several famous parables of practical application for the disciples. In a powerful indication of His priorities, Jesus devoted twice as much time to telling His followers how to live in light of His return as he did to describing the actual event. Readers will be inspired and equipped to live faithfully in expectation of Christ's coming.
