Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description

Alice Verney is a young woman intent on achieving her dreams. Having left Restoration England in the midst of a messy scandal, she has been living in Louis XIV’s Baroque, mannered France for two years. Now she is returning home to England and anxious to re-establish herself quickly. First, she will regain her former position as a maid of honor to Charles II’s queen. Then she will marry the most celebrated duke of the Restoration, putting herself in a position to attain power she’s only dreamed of. As a duchess, Alice will be able to make or break her friends and enemies at will.

But all is not as it seems in the rowdy, merry court of Charles II. Since the Restoration, old political alliances have frayed, and there are whispers that the king is moving to divorce his barren queen, who some wouldn’t mind seeing dead. But Alice, loyal only to a select few, is devoted to the queen, and so sets out to discover who might be making sinister plans, and if her own father is one of them. When a member of the royal family dies unexpectedly, and poison is suspected, the stakes are raised. Alice steps up her efforts to find out who is and isn’t true to the queen, learns of shocking betrayals throughout court, and meets a man that she may be falling in love with—and who will spoil all of her plans. With the suspected arrival of a known poison-maker, the atmosphere in the court electrifies, and suddenly the safety of the king himself seems uncertain. Secret plots are at play, and war is on the horizon—but will it be with the Dutch or the French? And has King Charles himself betrayed his country for greed?

The long-awaited prequel to Koen’s beloved Through a Glass Darkly, Dark Angels is a feast of a novel that sparkles with all the passion, extravagance, danger, and scandal of seventeenth-century England. Unforgettable in its dramatic force, here is a novel of love and politics, of romance and betrayal, of power and succession—and of a resourceful young woman who risks everything for pride and status in an era in which women were afforded little of either.

4 out of 5 stars A decent read, not what i expected though.......2007-08-16

This book tells the story of Alice Verney, Barbara Alderlys grandother, and the Duchess of Tamsworth. I was truly expecting a story of romance between Alice and Richard, who she would later marry. Those of you looking for that story, its here, but way towards the end and not really the central focus of the book.

The book starts about 10 years into the reign of Charles, known to history as the Merry Monarch for his many mistresses and children(none of them by his queen, Catharine of Branganza).

After many years apart, the king's sister is returning to England for a visit. She is married to a Prince of France, and while there are children from the marriage, it is known that the princesse is not happy, nor is here husband. When she returns to France, she dies suddenly. Alice, one of her ladies in waiting, is determined to finds out 1.) who killed her and 2) Who is now threatining her new mistress, Catherine of Bragnza.

Throughout the book, there are plots against the queen, plots for the queens, plots, to marry. Also bits and pieces mixed in about a spy from the french court, who is reluctant.

Alice, while at times stubborn and arrogantly sure she knows whats best for her friends, is likable, but almost a different person then the one we meet in TAGD. Although this is to be expected. After all, in DA, she hasnt gone through the hardships of losing her entire family just yet. So, she's a young girl here, with a young girl's attitude and assurance in herself.

There's no way i could possibly list everything here that goes on. It is shorter then its two predessors, but still worth the read.

The only thing i didn't like, was not enough Richard and Alice together!

2 out of 5 stars Very disappointing.......2007-07-28

I had to force myself to finish this book in order to feel qualified to review it. Koen's other book, "Through a Glass Darkly" is one of my favorite historical novels, and I probably read it once a year. This one, however, is just not enjoyable. After I had read 1/3 of it, I still felt no connection to Alice, the main character. The writing was very disjointed, and it was very hard to tell who was talking or being talked about a lot of the time. I loved the character of Alice as the grandmother in "Through a Glass Darkly", and I was really looking forward to reading about her younger life. The Alice in "Dark Angels" did not mesh with the character as I knew her in the other book, and I wish I had never read this one. Very very disappointing.

2 out of 5 stars THERE ARE NO ANGELS HERE, DARK OR OTHERWISE........2007-07-23

Welcome to the court of Charles II, hotbed of corruption, both political and moral. Enter Alice Verney, who aspires to a command a position of power within the court and seeks to attain her goal by marrying the aging Duke of Balmoral. Longstanding friendships are threatened by Alice's quest as well as her unequivocal need to control not only her own life but also the lives of those around her.

Alice is an unconventional heroine in the respect that she has always had money and been accustomed to the finer things. Unlike the "up from the gutter and into the glitter" characters that usually make their appearance in these historical sagas, Alice is initially not a very likable character. She is manipulative and deceitful, but does manage to present the reader with a colorful portrait of a woman of her era.

The author manages to evoke the flavor of the 17th century and capture of the Restoration-era mindset with its brazen women and conspiratorial men. Most of the characters in this narrative quagmire subscribe to the theory that their machinations and schemes are a necessary by-product of success and that "life isn't filled with easy choices and we all get our hands dirty from time to time". Personally, there is only one character in this entire novel that I would be inclined to trust with my life.

Finally, let me say that the book ends on a somewhat unfulfilling note. Two of the characters, Henri Ange the poison-maker, and Walter the young stable hand disappear from the pages without a resolution to their stories. Guess I am one of those readers who wants all loose ends neatly tied up with a big red bow. 2 1/2 STARS.

4 out of 5 stars Welcome to the Restoration: Decadence, romance, intrigue and deception .......2007-06-08

Is there a more fascinating time or place than the court of King Charles II? I cannot think of one, and Karleen Koen lends her pen to bring it alive in "Dark Angels".

Koen has a knack for hooking the reader early on with hints and promises, and interesting characters. She writes romantic heroes, heroines and villains extremely well, as readers of "Through a Glass Darkly" know. I flew through the pages and loved the characters, costumes and themes centering on the struggles between love and greed or jealousy, forgiveness and revenge, and strategic scheming and surprise. Koen transports you to the decadent Courts of the Sun King (Louis XIV of France & creator of Versailles) and Charles II of England, and drapes you in damask, jewels and lace, and on the next page sends you to seedy brothels and privy court chambers for some debauchery, drunkeness and gambling. Regicide, religious wars, royal gossip and exploits, romance and gold digging rule the day. It is delicious fun!

The real story of "Dark Angles" introduces us to Alice Verney who is first a young Maid of Honor to Princess Henrietta Anne of France (sister to Charles II of England) and then a not-so-young Maid of Honor to the shunned Queen Catherine in England. She's had her heart broken in love and loyalty through the betrayals of a friend and lover, and the murder of Madame, Princess Henrietta. Alice puts up a condescending, stand-offish front in an attempt to protect herself and others, and finds that such a barrier isolates us from those we love, rather than keep them close. She is sassy, spoiled, scheming and sophisticated, and yet disillusioned by life at court. We see an early glimpse of the life lessons that shaped the loving, accepting and wise grandmother we met in "Through a Glass Darkly".

Koen brings alive the sexual charge of the time through accurate presentations of its rogues from the well documented exploits of Kings Charles II of England and Louis XIV of France to the English Earl of Rochester and Sir John Sedely who drunkenly bumble and grope their way through the background of this book. It was a drunken, decadent time of debauchery and hedonism, and great fun to re-live through books such as this, "The King's Touch", "The Perfect Royal Mistress", "Duchess: A novel of Sarah Churchill" or even "Forever Amber" (I am not a huge fan, but many others are).

I gave this book a "4 star" rating because it is just simply an intriguing, fast, fun escape read, but it does have its flaws. The main draw back is that Koen seems confused as to whether she wanted to write a "whodunnit?", a romance or a fantastic period novel. She delivers pieces of all three, and that leaves fans with genre preferences feeling disappointed. The good news is that this novel seems ripe for a sequel (or two!) to fill the time between its end and the beginning of her stellar debut, Through A Glass Darkly. I love the promise of more to come... I only hope the wait is short!

3 out of 5 stars Hugely dissappointing.........2007-05-25

I loved Koen's other works. However, this book fell flat. There was really no intense character development nor was I given alot of reasons to root for Alice. Barbara's end was obvious. In fact, the entire book was pretty obvious to an avid reader of historical fiction. I could've guessed the entire plot in the first 100 pages.

From the author of the 2000 National Book Award winner, Homeless Bird, comes an evocative glimpse into a chilling period in world history. Gloria Whelan manages to take the fly-on-the-wall approach one step further in her latest piece of historical fiction. In Angel on the Square, a young girl joins Russian Tsar Nikolai II, Empress Alexandra, and their children when her mother becomes one of the empress's ladies-in-waiting. Katya Ivanova, as companion to the Romanov children, has an insider's view of the crumbling of tsarist Russia from 1913 to 1918. Initially, life is lavish and amusing for this young aristocrat, although her friend Misha's revolutionary ideas often battle in her mind with her own loyalty to the tsar. Gradually, though, the world outside begins to enter the palace walls, and Katya's life--along with that of all nobility--changes forever.

Whelan's balanced treatment of both sides of the Russian revolution is remarkably accessible. Katya is an appealing protagonist; readers will hang on her every word as she is transformed from a spoiled, sheltered child into a caring, hard-working adult. Young readers couldn't ask for a better introduction to this terrifying, earthshaking epoch in history. (Ages 10 and older) --Emilie Coulter

    Book Description

It is a golden time for the aristocracy of St. Petersburg in the fall of 1914. The daughter of a lady-in-waiting, Katya Ivanova is safe behind palace walls. She takes her vacations on the imperial yacht and her tea with the Tsar's daughters. The royal family feels like her own.

But outside the palace, a devastating war sweeps through Europe, and deep unrest takes root in Russia. As the flame of revolution ignites in a country where the rich have always ruled, Katya's once-certain future dissolves.

National Book Award-winning author Gloria Whelan transports readers to a crumbling, war-torn Russia, where one young woman, growing up in the shadow of a revolution, must take her future into her own hands.

This is Greg Bear at his best, a hallucinatory, wild ride through a future murder investigation. Sure it's science fiction but that's like saying the Taj Mahal is a nice building. It is one of those rare works that are all things to all people and yet offending none. It is a police procedural, a mystery, a philosophical tome, science fiction and personal reflection. Philosophical thunderclaps reverberate throughout and Bear employs a catchy technique for getting to the heart of the matter in the use of simultaneous stories that conclude but do not necessarily intertwine. The language is bold, quirky and even startling with tricks galore ("+" for thoughts, new curse words, stream of consciousness at times). I should stress that these tricks "work" as do the descriptions of the wondrous future society of nanotech, AI and robots. Bear does not make the critical mistake of explaining each invention or technology as so many do - they are simply part of the flow.

The story begins with the murder of eight friends by a famous black poet. From this spring several subplots. In the future, culture wars are fought over the use of therapy to "cure" folks of aggressive tendencies. Some want to make it mandatory while others abhor the practice. We meet Mary, the chief investigator (and the voice of the story). She is a transform, that is (as best as one can tell), an individual who has radically changed their appearance. She chose black skin for aesthetic and not political reasons. She wants the killer to get therapy before he is captured by the Selectors, a vigilante group that tortures evil doers neurologically.

The other story tells of a simultaneous exploratory mission to Alpha Centuri by an AI on the verge of self-awareness. On an Earthlike planet the AI discovers evidence of intelligence. The AI in space has a twin on Earth that vividly describes intelligence without awareness (the AI conversations are nothing short of brilliant). Bear tackles all sorts of philosphical questions - punishment, justice, indignation, redemption and consciousness from several points of view - society as a whole, the criminal, the therapied, the untherapied and most important, the AI who can ask deep questions and remain within the flow of the story. A well-designed political story concerning Haiti also plays out and Bear fortunately does not simply extrapolate current events into some aburd parallel future.

There are some wierd syntactical treatments that make for rough reading: the absence of commas, unusual phrasing... but eventually you train yourself to defocus on these sections and just let the words shower down on you... maybe that was Bear's intent.

I loved Slant, and was excited to discover this prequel based in the same universe and featuring Mary Choy, but this novel makes Slant seem pretty mainstream. There are "Big Ideas" here that are really worth the read, and I am in amazement of the complexity and maturity of the thought: it's like Bear had been saving up decades of thought on the nature of consciousness, the subconscious, guilt, and punishment, and was finally letting fly.

I eventually decided that this was a great novel. Keep going. It's worth it.

    1 out of 5 stars I don't know what to say..........2005-10-20

I've read more than a few of Greg Bear's books but have come across no books of his that were anything like Queen of Angels. If I didn't know better I'd say there was a bug in his word processor that removed all the punctuation.

I put this book down a dozen times an finally gave up on it. I never could get into it becuase I like to read one story at a time... not four. I also like sentences that are structured. I'm not sure what he was trying to accomplish with this but I don't recommend it at all. It will basically frustrate the crap out of you to try and read it.

5 out of 5 stars Voodoo People ..........2004-07-27

Nothing in Bear's previous works prepared me for the nature of this book. In marked contrast to the majority of Bear's novels, Queen of Angels does not deal with speculative evolutionary biology or quantum physics. Yes, it pays to be up to date on the latest articles on nanotechnology and Jungian archetypes, but perhaps more than any other book of Bear's, Queen of Angels is a work that could pass as highly-respected contemporary literature.

The back cover of the edition I own quotes a Washington Post Book World critic saying that Queen of Angels may be the most ambitious book the critic has ever read. I can't say I disagree.

On a surface level the book is a whodunnit, except for the fact that we know who the killer is. Emanuel Goldsmith, a notorious poet, suffers an apparent mental breakdown and slaughters a group of his acolyte friends in cold blood.

Structurally the book contains four threads following the exploits of an equal number of protagonists involved in the murder case. The individual storylines are linked thematically, with only tenuous physical connections established between the main characters; in a move that may alienate some of his regular readers, Bear forces the reader to put the big pieces in place and find the elusive meaning behind it all. It is almost as if Bear is throwing down the figurative gauntlet to see who among his large fan base can handle the one aberration in his oeuvre.

The author deals with his cast without any remorse, reveling in the intimate, embarrassing details of their mundane existence in a style reminescent of James Joyce's 'Dubliners'. Mary Choy, a 'transform' cop formerly white now the blackest black; Martin Burke, a cutting-edge psychotherapist fallen from grace; Richard Fettle, an aspiring if mentally brittle poet; Jill, an Artificial Intelligence without self-awareness: all the main characters try to build a new, sustainable 'self' while carrying some deep psychological fracture within themselves. The eye of a needle awaits every one. Each storyline ultimately ends in partial redemption, but it is only the reader, enjoying a god-like perspective, who can reconstruct the trail of events behind the bloodbath.

    Bear's thesis:

Some people may walk through their lives exhibiting all the traits of an intelligent person while still missing true self-awareness, the essential 'I'. Without contact to other intelligences, self-modeling (read: self-awareness) in evolutionary terms can be demoted to excess-baggage status, a quirk of nature. And without full self-awareness, there can be no social responsibility for one's actions regardless of how criminal they may be.

These theories are further explored in Slant, an inferior and loosely-connected sequel to Queen of Angels.

After finishing the book, I spent a full hour contemplating what I had just read while the implications of Bear's theories started to sink in. Trying to pin down my 'thoughts behind the thoughts', analyzing my internal monologue. Searching for clues in a desperate attempt to convince myself that I was truly self-aware and not just some collection of maintenance routines. Queen of Angels had hit me like no other book since.

'I think, therefore I am' - is that admissible evidence in court?

    5 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant.......2004-06-30

I read this book some years ago, and I have come to the conclusion that it is the best book I have ever read. Other reviewers have already explained, and sweetly reminded me, of just what makes this book special. The parallel realisation of a soulless Goldsmith and a soul "ful" AXIS is a central theme to this book I feel. Having said that, I noticed a few bad reviews. I am sure if I had given up after a hundred pages, I might have given it one or two stars out of desparation, but its just the kind of book you have to read to the end, and only then does the true value of this work become clear.

In times of need, people turn to spirituality and religion for comfort--and in our tumultuous world, Mother Mary is one of the most popular objects of devotion, beloved by Catholics, many feminists, and New Age disciples everywhere. Marian conferences held throughout the year attract thousands of Mary's devoted followers, and her popularity will only increase as the millennium approaches--Pope John Paul II has officially declared 2000 the Year of Mary.

    5 out of 5 stars Excellent book--excellent meditations.......2002-03-08

The author has written a wonderful book about all the appearations of "Mother Mary" in a graceful style of daily meditations. I must highly recommend this book. However, what the author should consider is that Mother Mary is actually Mother God (cf Sylvia Browne's books on Journey of the Soul--also totally excellent), and further she states that "Christians do not believe in reincarnation" which is not exactly correct. Gnostic Christians do believe in reincarnation. Edgar Cayce, being a Southern Baptist and Sunday School teacher did not at first believe in reincarnation, but then after numerous meditations to help the hopelessly ill, he could not ignore the fact that our past lives do affect our health and well being. (Edgar Cayce's books are also excellent on theology and heaven). Reincarnation was edited out of the bible by Constatine/Augustine c. 350 BCE because they felt the illiterate masses could not properly understand such a complex doctrine. From a historical point, early Christians did believe in reincarnation and when the 4 gospels of the New Testament were originally written, the disciples and Jesus himself made numerous clear references to reincarnation. (Syliva Brown has a list of these biblical passages in her Journey of the Soul Series, or you can write me direct for them.)

other than these minor corrections, the book is wholly excellent in that it draws one much closer to Mother God in an extremely religiously correct manner explaining the full beauty, grace, love and mercy of God, and that is the whole point of our existence on earth. there is no doubt that Ms. Connell's books have sold well. Mother God is behind her and Mother God loves and protects fiercly those that come to her.

Although Mother God does not care what she is called, it is still best to understand that Mother Mary is Mother God is Mother Earth is Gaia, Diana, Isis, etc. and all the hundreds of names that people have called this most gracious, full of love apparation throughout the long milleniums of our existence.

She is there, She loves us and She cares.

Read the book, see Her grace and glory

5 out of 5 stars How to Survive On Earth in Spiritual Realms.......2000-07-09

Queen of Angels, Mary's Answers to Universal Questions is a delightful, simple question and answer way to develop useful spiritual savy. The Daily Applications of Mary's answers really work. I particularly like the Meditation on page 177, in reference to the question: "Spiritual Mother, how shall I plan for the future?" - - After Mary's loving response is the following Meditation: "Little children know they can control little. Wise people know they can control nothing." I find special enlightenment each time I read some part of that book.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful and touching.......2000-07-07

I was given this book by my mother after something extremely traumatic and devastating happened to me. There is a wealth of comfort and beauty in this golden book. Love permeates the pages, healing and gentle. I would give it as a gift to anyone who needs hope, or just as a message of love.

5 out of 5 stars good source of modern wisdom.......2000-03-10

Queen of Angels is simple enough to read quickly, but deep enough to read again and again.

5 out of 5 stars full of grace.......2000-03-10

Queen of Angels fills a great void in the modern world. It presents the spirit of Mary as our ever present mother watching over us, guiding us, protecting us. Each page overflows with the wisdom of the ages.

The old princess Armonia recalls a time when her kindgom was invaded by pitiless hordes of "buyers," who stole all of her treasures and destroyed her beautiful palace made of air and light. Inspired by the fantastical found object sculptures of Jamaican artist Nari Ward, this is a tale that tells deeply and ironically, yet brightly and humorously, of our time.
