If you're a Weight Watcher, this collection of 500 recipes in a handy loose-leaf binder could put you in the fast lane on the road to success. This cookbook is designed for Weight Watchers' 123 Success program: points are assigned to foods based on fat, fiber, and calories, and your daily point allowance is based on your current weight. So you can eat what you want, as long as you don't go over your allotted points. The better your food choices, the more you can eat before you run out of points.
Recipes are varied and cover the whole gamut: sauces; breads; soups; meat, chicken, fish, and vegetarian entrees; pasta; vegetable, grain, and potato side dishes; and, of course, desserts. The recipes are more healthful but not drastically different from foods you and your family enjoy now. Many are familiar comfort foods, such as Pizza, Oven "Fried" Chicken, Beef Stew, Tuna Noodle Casserole, Chocolate Layer Cake, and Cheesecake. Internationally inspired favorites include Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), Orange-Flavored Fajitas, Moo Shu Chicken, Tandoori Haddock, and Senegalese Peanut Soup. The nutritional breakdown for each recipe is more complete than in most cookbooks, and includes calories, fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrate, fiber, protein, calcium, and Weight Watchers' points. --Joan Price

Great book.......2007-09-29
This book (along with a couple other WW books) helped me lose over 30 lbs. very happy with my purchase.
Great Recipes!.......2007-08-01
This book has great recipes and a nice mix of flex and core. I have made more than 10 of the recipes and they were easy to follow with good explanations and mostly easy to find ingredients. I recommend highly even if you own other WW cookbooks!
Best WW cookbook by far.......2007-07-19
This is the best weight watchers cookbook I have ever seen. The recipes are not only delicious, but they use ingredients that most of us have on hand or can easily get. My husband (not on weight watchers) has loved every recipe that I have made so far. These are not "diet" food recipes, just good, healthy eating recipes :o)
Disappointing.......2007-07-18
I ordered this cookbook when I joined weight watchers through amazon.com. There aren't a lot of vegan or vegetarian recipies, and those listed are tasteless. Worse is the Weight Watchers online program. The website is slow and cumbersome and difficult to figure out. While the online blog can be good at times, it certainly isn't worth the money. It took 4 months to cancel through WW accounting department after the first request. BEWARE!!!
Weight Watchers Cookbook.......2007-07-05
This cookbook contains great recipes and innovative cooking ideas for those following the Weight Watchers food plan. I highly recommend it.
Amazon.com
If the old saying "butter plus salt equals flavor" is true, somebody neglected to tell the folks at Weight Watchers. Simply the Best is a testament that good food need not always be accompanied by dietary guilt and that flavor doesn't have to be sacrificed in the name of health. The book's more than 250 sensible low-fat recipes cover the culinary spectrum, from entrees such as Bella Braised Chicken to desserts such as Strawberry Crepes.
While the book is designed to accompany the popular Weight Watchers diet program, it can be used by anyone interested in healthy, delicious, low-fat food. The prizewinning recipes are contributed by Weight Watchers members and staff from across the U.S., Canada, and England. For chefs new to low-fat cooking, Simply the Best is an excellent resource for learning flavorful combinations to substitute for traditional high-fat, high-caloric fare. Most inspiring is the sheer variety of recipes included in the book and the unique variations on old themes. While it may sound unconventional to purists, the Apple Cranberry Pie with Granola Crust is wonderful, and the Chicken Marsala with Green Grapes would go well on any table.

Great Cookbook.......2007-08-31
Bought this books some time ago and haven't used it all that much. Just opened it up again and made the Chocolate Amaretto Cheesecake and it is amazing. I passed over it because it is made with ricotta cheese and I just couldn't believe it could turn out that great. Just 99 calories for 1/l2 slice. I topped it with whipped cream.
Also try the Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, they are a favorite recipe. I added some nuts and just a tablespoon of chocolate chips. Just those two recipes are well worth the price of the book.
Chicken Marsala and Clam Linguini are favorite recipes as well.
Great for picky eaters!.......2007-07-24
I am a very picky eater,so I usually struggle with cookbooks having recipes I like. This book is great - I just started weight watchers and was very pleased to see this cookbook has not only good basic recipes but also easy to make. It ranges from appetizers and snacks to desserts and everything in between. The recipes are created by real people making their own recipes weight watcher friendly. Very good purchase.
Excellent Cookbook!.......2007-07-08
This is the first WW cookbook I ever purchased, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This one has become the gold standard in my kitchen right off the bat. My previous cookbooks were full of delicious, but not exactly healthy, recipes. This cookbook is full of recipes that not only taste terrific, but are healthy and enjoyable for the whole family.
Some of our favorites so far are these (and I might be paraphrasing the actual name of the recipe and I am going from memory here): Lemon-Tarragon Grilled Chicken, Grilled Herb Turkey Burgers and Turkey Tortilla Casserole. There are several others that we have tried and enjoyed as well. AND, there are dozens (literally) more that I have dog-eared and am anxious to try. Nothing I've tried has been a flop or even a disappointment in the slightest. I'm very pleased with this cookbook. I'd recommend it without reservation.
A+
great book.......2007-05-14
used. a little damage on the spine. Did some tape repairs. Haven't had the opportunity to try the recipes but reading through it, it seems fairly simple and easy to use if you are on the points system.
Not so impressed.......2007-05-10
The cookbook is not very picture friendly. Most of the recipes are not what I expected. I wanted a healthy family cookbook while still being conscious of what we are eating each night. This appeared to be something that might fit the bill, but when I received it I was not impressed. Still looking for a cookbook that is just basic family recipes without weird ingredients that the entire family can enjoy including my children.

Customer Reviews:
Yeah for fast meals.......2007-08-16
I am a busy mom with not a whole lot of extra time to be goofing around in the kitchen. PLus I am tired! I can have a healthy dinner for my family quickly! LOVE IT!!
Quick and Easy.......2007-05-30
These are great recipes that don't require lots of thinking (after a hard day at work). Some old standards, some new ideas.
This is cookbook versatility at its best!.......2007-03-30
I disagree with those reviewers who claim that the recipes in this book take longer than 15, 20 or 30 minutes to prepare. I have made the Seared Lamb in Garlic Sauce and it took less than a 1/2 hour from start to finish. I also made the Osso Bucco chicken, which is one of the most innovative and delicious WW recipes ever!
These recipes are all tasty and very quick to put together. Many of them are also suitable for entertaining. So don't hesitate to order this book. It has been a lifesaver for me. Since joining WW in January, 2007 I have lost 60 lbs in 12 weeks! My success is due largely in part to my WW cookbook collection including Make It In Minutes!
Not so great.......2007-03-29
This book is filled with fast ideas, but most are not practical or appealing. I am disappointed and will probably not use the book all that much. The recipes are not generally husband or kid friendly as far as likeablility goes.
Very, very quick.......2007-03-25
A collection of Weight Watchers low point recipes that are creative and very, very quick to prepare.

Customer Reviews:
OK.......2007-04-21
does not give the current information. I have to figure out points myself, Yuck
Great WW Recipes.......2006-04-09
If you're a fan of WW, you should love this book. It was written before any of the POINTS systems, so you have to do some calculations on your own. The nutrition info is provided for each recipe. This book is an especially good value because as another reviewer noted, for each main recipe, you get additional recipes provide a day's worth of meals.
I give this book four stars because I've always had to doctor my WW recipes. They tend to be on the bland side for me, but they are always good starting points. I also enjoy light cookbooks that provide tips for cutting fat and calories and this book does not. It's just recipes.
Not the book for my family.......2005-03-06
Way too many of the recipes in this book have ingredients I have never heard of! Also, the ingredient lists are often very long. I am donating my copy to the public library and will use "The Moms' Guide to Meal Makeovers" and "Quick Meals for Healthy Kids and Busy Parents" to help me provide sensible meals for my family.
Great book but..........2003-12-18
I just recieved this the other day and have yet to make any recipes from this cookbook. But I have now tried several of the WW cookbooks and they always have great recipes, so there is no doubt that I will find some more healthy ones in this book.
I love how each page has a main recipe on it and then they have built a whole day of eating around that one recipe. Sometimes, there are smaller typed recipes in the daily menu area on each page. For example, on one page, the main recipe is for Grilled Chicken Caesar salad. Then to the right of the recipe, they have built a whole day of meals around this recipe. They have suggested what to eat for breakfast (banana and cereal), a light meal (beans and franks, carrot/celery sticks, whole wheat roll, yogurt), the main meal (which includes the Chicken caesar salad, creamy brocolli soup--provides the recipe, a peach and Italian bread) and an evening snack (3 cups of plain popcorn).
This is perfect for someone who needs to follow a strict menu to stay on track. Not everyone has the self discipline to make their own healthy menus and stay within the WW guidelines, so this would work well for those people. And each recipe/daily menu is different so you don't have to worry about being bored and eating the same things over and over.
The only real complaints I have about this book is that it is outdated compared to the newer WW cookbooks. It doesn't have any of the point values in the book, so you need to use the WW calculator to figure the point values out for each recipe. And the other complaint that I have is the book does have a few pictures in it, but most of the pictures are very unappetizing. They look like they just threw the recipe together and didn't worry about presentation. The more recent WW cookbooks make the pictures look very yummy, unlike this one.
Also, we all know that not everyone can eat the same amount of calories and continue to lose weight, so its unclear as to who this cookbook is geared towards. Someone who needs to be eating 1600 calories and actively losing weight still or someone who is maintaining their goal weight and need to eat around 1200 calories per day.
This cookbook looks like its worth a try, even just for the recipes and not the daily menus. But it't not as nice as the newer cookbooks that WW has put out in the last few years.
Doesn't Taste Like Diet Food!!!.......2002-03-11
This cookbook is the best I've ever tried! I had a pretty good selection of cookbooks before buying this one so I didn't really think a 'healthy cookbook' would be able to compare... but the recipes are really great! There's a large selection of tastes for simple to complex meals.
Plus for each day/page the book does not just give you one recipe. You'll be given a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Side dish ideas and drink ideas that will go good with your main dish are suggested! It's deffinatly a unique and helpful cookbook. You'll love it!

Customer Reviews:
Great, easy WW cookbook!.......2007-10-11
The Take Out cookbook is a good one - the recipes reflect favorite take-out foods from different ethnic cuisines (Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Indian, etc.) and are super simple. I made the Broccoli with Garlic Sauce recipe from the Chinese section, and though I did have to stock up on a few "exotic" ingredients like rice wine and oyster sauce, the end result was delicious and only 2 points! Definitely one to get.
Great Recipes.......2007-09-04
I have had this book for a while and must say it is excellant. I have found recipes for dishes that I couldn't find anywhere and I have over 1000 cookbooks of every kind just about out there. It is definitely a cook book I keep close at hand.
Great Book.......2007-08-23
I love the cookbook. I have a few of them, the dinners in here are great!!! Thank you
very handy to have around the house.......2007-07-18
good service rec'd book in excellent condition and very fast!! Good recipes for the health conscious consumer who may be trying to lose weight too! I love the book! and so does my family!
Portions are skimpy.......2007-05-19
The recipes in this cookbook are quite tasty, but the portions are skimpy!! There's no way I would be satisfied with one portion of these recipes.
If you get this cookbook, prepare to eat tiny portions of the meals you fix and a huge bowl of salad to stay within a reasonable amount of calories but also get full. And I am not a big eater - I usually eat about 350-400 calories for dinner, but I make my calories go far by preparing healthy food that is low-cal.
This cookbook is beautiful, but misleading once you realize how small the portions are. Bummer.

blah.......2007-01-09
I hated this book. I'm giving it three stars because it might be me hating self-help stuff, but this was not really what i expected. It's a feel good book and doesn't really give you specific tips or anything really weight watchers related. waste of money in my opinion.
Excellent and Informative.......2006-11-05
This is a great book for anyone, weight watchers or not. It teaches you the REAL truth about dieting myths.
Very good weightloss book.......2006-09-03
The price is right and the information is very eye-opening.
I have read most of the book and it made me feel that weight loss was possible.
It was easy reading and I liked how they had it structured with the different myths of lossing weight. This is probably a re-reader to keep you focused on what is important!!!
I highly recommend this book to anyone that has weight to loose whether it is a lot of weight or just a little bit of weight.
I'm now lost almost 40lbs since mid-February. I am a real reader and believer in this book. I still have a ways to go, but will keep pulling this book out and others to keep motivated and ontrack.
You'll want to get other books to supplement this book. And keep you on track.
Best wishes on improving your life!!!! And health!!!!
Everything You Already Knew But Didn't Want to be Told.......2006-08-30
You can forget the herbs, supplements, enzymes, and stress and fat blockers. The few prescription diet pills that work have side effects worse than the cure. If there is anything easy about weight control why do we have record obesity and more and more gastric bypass surgery? The low fat and low carb diets are just gimmicks akin to the grapefruit, boiled egg, cabbage soup and drinking man's diets. These diets may work short term, but they're not substainable. How many grapefruit can you eat and for how long? Bottom line, it's all about calories in - calories out, regardlesss of what you consume to get the calories. Losing requires a calorie deficit, more calories out than in. EXERCISE! An OK book, but really a 200+ page solicitation to join Weight Watchers.
Weight Watcher.......2006-03-24
Excellent book that will tell how to lose weight and dispel big diet myths. Learn how to lose weight and keep it off and read about some of the people that did. If you need motivation, then this is the book for you.

Good.......2007-07-26
I really like the book. There are very good recipies in it. I did not like some of the ingredients. Some ingredients are hard to find in the stores.
ALOT of meat recipes.......2007-06-27
I was hoping for more vegetarian dishes, or at least things that were easily adaptable. Instead the meat dishes are really meat with a few other things, not like casseroles.
If I had to do it again, I would purchase the comfort food recipe book instead.
Everything's A Treat.......2007-06-08
I am a woman of few words and as such I'll simply say "delicious". Each recipe is better and more exciting than the last. If you're trying to watch your weight and still enjoy good food...this is the cookbook for you.
Delicious and Fun.......2007-05-13
A great companion to the Weight Watchers point system diet. I have used it many times. The recipes are tasty and easy to follow. It really lives up to it's title. I highly recommend it to anyone on this or any diet.
Great low point recipes!!.......2007-05-07
This cookbook has some wonderful solutions when you're short on points! You will be sure to fall in love with some recipes.
Only downfall - there aren't any CORE recipes!

The Best Book Koontz Ever Wrote.......2007-09-05
I have read this book 4 times since it was written and now having heard the audio version, I am more in love with it than ever. This is the best book he has ever written. He is the greatest author, I would not miss one.
Review by Author of Everyday Miracles.......2007-08-23
A breath taking and gripping novel that fills the reader with new and exciting experiences. A combination of pulse racing excitement and cold fear, affection ,and disgust for no-good characters. A special love for Einstein the adorable Labrador. I enjoyed the combination of adventure, romance and thrilling experiences of the characters. Dean Koontz, introduced characters of varied personalities from the executive staff, to Medical practitioners, Salesmen to assassins ,to name a few. Intriguing, Gripping, revealing, this is by far the best novel I have read.
Everyday Miracles: Stories That Touch Your Heart
Just a book for dog lovers.......2007-08-19
I love dean koontz, but this was a real dissapointment. The whole book is about the compainionship of a dog and the climax it works toward is a 1 page ending without delivering. Unless you are a dog lover, STAY AWAY.
Severely overrated, but still enjoyable........2007-08-07
After reading the reviews for this book, I was expecting to be blown away. While I enjoyed the book, I wouldn't call it one of Koontz's best. It had good characters, an interesting plot and it was well paced. Here are a few things that I didn't like:
**SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT!!**
+ Nora progessed socially way to fast, and then didn't even show a hint of regression at any point. The fast progession is much more acceptable than the lack of regression. Honestly, I would have been happy if, even for just a paragraph, Nora slipped into her old hermit-like ways and needed to be brought out of her shell again.
+ Lem and Cliff (I think those were their names). That whole side story bored me to tears. I know it was an important element in the story, but it just didn't do it for me.
+ Einstein should have done more with the Scrabble pieces! "Can I have some hamburger? Or three Weenies?" and "Home is where the weenies are." were classic and hysterical lines. I wish Koontz had stuck in a few more lines like that.
+ I thought Vince's death was anticlimactic. As I came to the end of the novel, I was hoping for one of two things with Vince. I was hoping that either he would somehow be linked to The Outsider, or I was hoping that The Outsider would kill him. Honestly, Vince had been hunting Nora and Travis for the entire book, and when he finally gets to them, he's dead maybe fifteen, twenty minutes later. I was expecting a bit more.
So that this review isn't all negative, here are a few things I loved about the book:
+ Einstein and the Scrabble pieces. Although I did state earlier that I wish he had done more with them, what's written is classic.
+ Nora's backstory, Travis' backstory and how the two met.
+ The Outsider. Although part of me wishes that we had seen him and gotten to know him more, the fact that we never really understand him makes him a more mysterious and scary character.
+ I loved the relationship established between Jim Keene and the main characters.
+ Garrison Dilworth. What a wonderful, exciting character.
And so, to sum it all up, I wouldn't call this book "amazing" or "excellent". I'd probably put it a touch above "good". In my opinion, it's definately worth reading.
Dean Koontz's BEST work.......2007-08-02
This is the book that got me hooked on this amazing author.
For those finding the book a bit stale, I'd check to see if you have an imagination.
This book really tests the boundary between real and sci-fi. However, you will fall in love with the main character, the dog. I won't say much more other than the fact that he has super human intellect.
My Recommendation:
If you are new to Dean Koontz, then this is probably the one you should read first.

A Mom's Best Friend.......2007-01-16
I really stress about what to make my family for dinner. I am able to create healthy, exciting, tasty, and best of all quick meals for my family thanks to this cookbook. I have many others, but I consider this my bible of all my cookbooks.
I'm a WW lifetime member. Unfortunately I fell off the wagon recently ... using this cookbook I'm able to get back on the wagon, and stay in check when I'm at goal without sacraficing flavor.
Wonderful cookbook!.......2006-07-10
This is a wonderful cookbook! It is great for students and people on the go. I tried the Deep Dish Pizza Casserole and it tasted great! I can actually eat it as leftovers until it's gone.
Who wants to spend hours in the kitchen unless it is a special occasion? I appreciate that I don't have to spend a lot on groceries and I can still make a homecooked meal. I also like that the recipes are things I would want to eat. Most importantly though the recipes are healthy and low calorie!!
A Godsend for the short-of-time, calorie-conscious cook.......2006-05-22
5 ingredients? 15 minutes? I can do that. Need to watch points or calories? Weight Watchers is great for that. Recipes here I like:
1. Fettucini and shrimp,
2. Athens-style grouper
3. Summer squash over polenta
4. Taco chicken wraps
One of the best of Weight Watchers. shopping list in front, points and exchanges on recipe. A winner.
We've used this for three years -- works every time.......2006-04-19
Three years ago, My wife took our daughter to Weight Watchers and the gym simultaneously to drop some weight thus preventing a "Big" girl in Ballet. The wife signed up for both just to keep the daughter company and on track.
It worked. My wife dropped 24 pounds and looks like the girl I picked up on that train 27 years ago, perfect size 5. (yeah Roseanne, I know beautiful just doesn't come in size 5)
I also dropped 20 pounds, -- It's the cookbook.
But I gained it back after doing the Bill Phillips 12 week Body for Life transformation, this time though, it's lean muscle.
We're all prety happy about it and bought a mirror for the wardrobe door first time in 20 years.
Get it and cook out of it. it works, the food is interesting and tastes magnifique.
A can't fail cookbook.......2006-04-05
Had to add another five-star review here. As the male side of a Weight Watchers household, I've approached some of the recipes hesitantly. Let me tell you, after more than a year of using this book, not one recipe has failed to impress! They are all quick and relatively cheap and easy to make. Tasty too!
