Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Looking back, John Edward now sees the early signs that he was destined to become an acclaimed psychic and medium. "There were times when I knew things I shouldn't have known," he writes. "Simple things like who was coming over, or who was on the phone." He knew events in family history that no one had told him about. He was inexplicably fascinated with television characters that possessed supernatural powers. He'd see auras around schoolteachers and hear voices that whispered true information in his mind. Eventually his gifts expanded into hearing the names of spirits "who'd gone to the other side." Finally, as a teenager Edward began to claim rather than question his psychic abilities and committed his life work to pursuing and learning about his gifts. Now that he has become a renowned medium (appearing on numerous talk shows, including Larry King Live), Edwards has written an entertaining "my life as a psychic" type of autobiography, packed with fascinating true stories. At the same time, Edward offers an engaging self-help book, teaching readers how to visit a medium and even showing seekers how they can recognize and develop their own psychic abilities. --Gail Hudson

Still Wanting More Answers!!!.......2007-07-28
For those who are touched by this book, I want you to know that there is something we can't explain. We all have paranormal abilities like John Edward, James Van Praagh, Sylvia Browne, and Char Margolis to name a few. The book is reassuring at times because it makes you feel like you're not alone in this world as some people might perceive us to be weird or strange. The book is about John Edward's biography and is ever evolving psychic abilities. He talks about getting depressed or iritable around negative events. I got this book probably before September 11, 2001 so it doesn't have anything to do with it. For me, I recognized that power and fear when the predictions come true. I'm not so much into contacting the deceased as I am concerned with the future but at the same time, our psychic abilities don't always work to our advantages like getting lottery numbers or picking the right mate. In fact, we can pick for others but we just can't pick for ourselves. John's honesty comes through in his writing and it's an okay biography as well as reassuring that this is not all there is but I want more answers especially about our past lives, our spirit guides, and why we're drawn to certain people. Maybe that could be his next book.
A Great Read!.......2007-07-20
One Last Time was terrific! John Edwards did an excellent job of explaining his gift with the world in a very pragmatic and humorous way. The explanations of the "unexplained", which may have happened to you or those close to you, are sensible and can provide even the most skeptical with a level of comfort not easily found.
fan of crossing over.......2007-04-21
john is a top medium his book is like been in the show well written and a comfort to read as all the others, his personality shines in one last time,i do believe there is more, another book the calling of your true self elizabeth anne bell is another book i could not put down it also rings with truth both well worth reading
Excellent Book.......2007-04-01
John Edward is a remarkable man. I loved this book because it made me feel that those that I have loved and who have gone to the other side are really still here with me.
Easy to Read and Interesting.......2007-03-14
I found while reading this book I could almost hear John speaking. It was really written in the same style as he speaks so I was comfortable with it from the beginning.
I liked the fact that it started from his beginnings as a child and progressed through what was at the time his current situation.
I would recommend reading this book first, before any of his others. It will give a better point of reference for his following books as he seems to refer back to it in some of his other writings. My wife tried to read his most recent book first and found it much easier to "get" him by stopping and reading this one first, at my suggestion.

A Profound Fireside Chat.......2007-03-23
This is one of the 'Fireside Series Collection', which is a library of teachings compiled from various selections of Ramtha's teachings to students in his school.
This may seem like a small volume, but it is so filled with information, guaranteed to have you contemplating and interacting, for a long long time. One of the subjects that Ramtha addresses in this 'little' book, that left me with much to contemplate, is manifestation.... how to manipulate reality and evolve it. Whether it be manifesting a material something that we want in our reality; changing an attitude; or healing our body of illness; what is it that prevents our manifestation from unfolding, or why does it take longer that we expect for it to unfold into our reality? I found the teachings on this topic very helpful and illuminating.
" In order to have anything, you must melt away the former, and we do that by thinking only of what we wish to be and no longer what we were. And that must be a continuous constant".
"People, places, things, times and events, they are all key to the program of the past. When we create new without any of the above, we are liberating the energy from the past and re-forming it into the new. As long as it is attached to people, places, things, times and events, it will never be liberated. It will always carry the virus of attitude".
Ramtha teaches in depth on this subject, using easy to relate to examples that help us understand our own human pitfalls and stumbling blocks that we have allowed to get in our way. In unique Ramtha style, he packs a huge amount of information into a very few pages. For me it opened a door, leaving me excited and inspired to contemplate and move forward with change. Although you are reading, you cannot help but participate as if you were there in his audience, (and perhaps you really are).
Included in this Fireside Series is an expansive illustrated glossary where you can learn about the seven levels of consciousness and energy in your body; the brain; the Observer effect and the nerve cell; cellular biology etc., so that if you are unfamiliar with Ramtha's teachings or this knowledge, you can still learn and benefit greatly from the information in this book by using the glossary as you go.
A great little Ramtha book........2007-02-07
If you have read the White Book or anything by Ramtha, you can see that some concepts are brought up again and again (in different helpful ways, but still...) This little book has new concepts and, by the way, a direct intersection with Seth's teachings: While we are manifesting our future, our past is actually re-written. This helps explain why "living in the NOW" should be your only focus - but you won't have to bear hearing it in that recently over-done cliche. Ramtha actually explains the concept, instead of using it as a mantra. I would have to say that this book makes many concepts make sense. I now think of time as being in a bow-tie shape. The knot represents the NOW and the past and present both fan out into the many possibilities. This book is well worth the time and money to get this knowledge into your head, with Ramtha explaining it MUCH better than many others.
Changing Time Zones Without Jet Lag.......2005-06-04
"I am not preparing you to be spiritual people," Ramtha says at one point in this volume. "I am preparing you to be Gods -- there is a difference."
My, oh my, is there ever. That a transcended being would have the skill to attempt to do that is certainly a thing worth contemplating. But that he would even bother trying, is quite another. In Ramtha's process of preparing us as Gods, the becoming "spiritual" naturally takes care of itself.... and quite undogmatically. It seems to go with the territory -- as an after-effect. Shifting one's priority of focus tends to shake loose the kinks in the chain-link of one's existence.
Here, Ramtha expounds on the term "dissolutionment" (not to be confused with the word disillusionment). Dissolution is the process of dissolving, or metamorphosis. What is being
dissolved is not one's body, or mind, or free will, but the ways and manners of thinking that keep us enchained to outworn emotions, old habitual ways of approaching our life that deserve to be shed, discarded, updated -- transformed.
He examines what we might expect to experience during such a transformation -- how it affects the physical body, how it affects the emotions. It is like being in limbo, midway between your former reality and your upcoming one. The way we get to that new state, he says, "is to dream it without any connection to the former reality."
Explaining the process of manifesting out of nothing, he first dispels some misperceptions. Manifesting shifts events on the timeflow that we perceive ourselves to be on. "That is why it is so hard to describe time to you," he says, "because, you see, time is based upon the moment.... When the dream is dreamed righteously, it changes the past and the future."
That is why the students of this book and his teachings, ultimately, manipulate time..... for themselves.... for us all.
In this splendid softcover volume, Ramtha demonstrates why he is an Enlightened One. You may feel compelled to re-read this luminous text or memorize a few of the parts you spontaneously yellow-highlighted along the way.... until his suggestions become second nature.
Students who have left this physical plane have by no means finished learning from him. He has helped them "move into the void." "That is sublime," he says. "You cannot comprehend altogether that which is termed infinity....But...they all got to experience it.... got to go back to Point Zero, something that one day I will look forward to doing with you as well."
That prospect adds new anticipation to the so-called "quantum leap." ...And inspires thoughts of making such a journey without first surrendering the physical body.
Makes the "Great Work," as Ramtha terms it, indeed seem eminently worth the effort.
How We Are Being in the Present Changes the Past and Future.......2005-05-29
This is a book just short of 100 pages based on a partial transcription of a Ramtha Dialogues audio tape from an event in Yelm, Washington in 1996. The information is rich with insights into several aspects of reality that are rarely addressed and from a perspective outside our current awareness. First we get a view from the "other side" as Ramtha talks of students who have "passed this plane" and describes their experience. He then goes on to tell the students what he wants for them: not to be a religious person, a martyr, ascetic, missionary or to live in rags but to live richly, beautifully, and powerfully. He says it is an endeavor to transform the student into what's already there.
By using the principle of the Observer in Quantum Physics, Ramtha says that, as observers, we are responsible for our reality and that it is an unlimited vista.
Ramtha gives a clear, concise and lengthy teaching on human personal evolution comparing it to the caterpillar changing into the butterfly and how we go through the same process to evolve. How we are being in the present changes the past and the future. I found this to be absolutely thought provoking and inspirational in regards to having the power and understanding to change into a desired experience. Much to contemplate. There is also a glossary of terms and several diagrams of the body and it's components that relate to the mechanism of change.

Customer Reviews:
The books provide Magical Mysteries in this treehouse........2007-09-27
This is the first book we read in this series and we are looking forward to going back to 1,2,and 3. The book takes you on an adventure through another book. There are mysterious things happening that Jack and Annie are trying to figure out. In the mean time they get caught up with a couple of pirates. A great read for a young boy.
Perfect way to jumpstart a reluctant reader!.......2007-08-15
My first grade grandson could read like lightning but could'nt remember anything he read, never understood what the story was trying to tell him and generally became very apprehensive when asked to read anything. He had classic performance anxiety. Having taught in Special Ed., I had found the Magic Treehouse books helped put the most anxious reader, especially those who faced language based reading difficulties, right at ease. As with them, my grandson almost instantly became a part of the story. His reading became more fluid and he would sparkle when asked to relate what he had read. Thank you Mary Pope Osborne!
MY BOY LOVES READING IT.......2007-01-07
My 1st grader hates to put it down, he would rather read Magic Tree House books, than play video games. He even reads them to his class and explains the story for show and tell. In his kindergarten class the teacher would also let him read the Magic Tree House books out loud, not to give her a break, but to promote reading out loud. Great books!
pirates past noon.......2006-12-02
Pirates past noon is about a girl and a boy that go to. Pirate time to heip the M person. A pirate was in thier way. He take thier coin. They had to get it back and go home to save the M person.I think you should raed it.
For Catholics concerned about the Magic element.......2006-10-23
Toward the end of the book, Jack and Annie encounter Morgan, the owner of the medallion. Though she admits that she has a bad reputation in history (or, in the history of fiction, whatever the case may be) she tells the children that the bad reputation of being a witch is undeserved.
Morgan admits these things to the children:
1. That she desires to "learn more about" (or, "unveil") time and history;
2. That these powers are, excepting Jack and Annie, hidden;
In addition, the medallion (a type of charm) plays a prominent role in the storyline.
For Catholics, this sends up red flags in regard to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraphs 2117 and 2118.
You know, the books are fun and the children enjoy them. But after comparing the scene with Morgan to the paragraphs in the CCC, my children understood the implications.
The warning agains divination is as old as Deuteronomy 18. There is just so much other stuff out there the kids can read.
Also, the grammarian in me just shutters at the syntax in the whole series.

Book Description
Nobel laureate Robert Fogel's compelling new study examines health, nutrition and technology from 1700 to 2100. Although throughout most of human history, chronic malnutrition has been the norm, a synergy between improvements in productive technology and human physiology has enabled humans to more than double their average longevity and to increase their body size by over fifty percent over the past three centuries. Larger, healthier humans have contributed to the acceleration of economic growth and technological change, resulting in reduced economic inequality, declining hours of work and a corresponding increase in leisure time. Increased longevity has also brought increased demand for health care. Fogel argues that health care should be viewed as the growth industry of the twenty-first century and systems of financing it should be reformed. His book will be essential reading for all interested in economics, demography, history and health care policy. A professor at the University of Chicago, Robert William Fogel has taught at the University of Rochester, Cambridge University, and Harvard University. He has received numerous awards and prizes for his work, including the Arthur C. Cole Prize (1968), the Schumpeter Prize (1971), the Bancroft Prize (1975), the Gustavus Myers Prize (1990), and the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science (1993). Previous books include Without Consent or Contract: The Rise and Fall of American Slavery (W.W. Norton & Company, 1994) and The Fourth Great Awakening and the Future of Egalitarianism (The University of Chicago Press, 2000).
Customer Reviews:
A glass more than half-full?.......2006-04-16
Given that our vision is so heavily freighted with the moment, ideas of human progress are in short supply lately. Although not an easy ride, economic historian and Nobel laureate Robert William Fogel's survey of the long run, at least in respect to human morbidity, leisure and longevity, provides escape velocity from pressing concerns about war, pandemic, income inequality and the health of the ecosphere. It might be as another noted economist, Alfred Lord Keynes, said in a different context: In the long-run we are all dead. But, the long-run seems to be getting longer.
The Escape from Hunger and Premature Death, 1700-2100 is an extension of Fogel's briefer 1993 Nobel Prize Lecture. It provides a synergistic view of the impact of increasing human environmental control on the demographic, economic and physiological conditions of successive generations over the past 300 years. According to Fogel, the interaction of these forces has over this period, and most dramatically over the last century, brought about a new stage of evolution - non-genetic "techno-physio evolution." He indicates this is evidenced by an unprecedented positive change during this period in caloric intake of about 250%, human body size of over 50%, and an increase in longevity of over 100%. Pointing to the future, Fogel's extrapolation of data over the last 140 years in optimal life circumstances, suggests that centenarians will be common by the last quarter of the 21st century. During the past three centuries there has also been an accompanying substantial decrease in the hours it takes each day to earn one's daily bread and increase in the percentage of discretionary income.
Although this is a "little" book, just 111 pages in the main body, it is densely packed with deep-mine data and illuminating higher-order concepts derived from a lifetime of concentration on economic development, particularly when Fogel was affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research as director of its Development of the American Economy Program and subsequently at the University of Chicago as the Charles R. Walgreen Professor of American Institutions and director of the university's Center for Population Economics. Metabolic indices, the thermodynamics of human physiological activity, Waaler curves, in-utero effects on morbidity, protein energy, malnutrition, physiological capital, and Gini ratios are grist for Fogel's mill.
Fogel's treatment of the confluence of technological change, diet, morbidity, work demands, leisure and mortality extends beyond developments in Western society to include the rapid pace of technophysio evolutionary changes in third world countries whose per capita income increases piggybacked on Western innovations, consequently dwarfing the much slower pace of Western improvements a century earlier. In the process of his examination he emphasizes the need to recognize the optimal conditions for human adaptation rather than settle for standards such as daily caloric requirements derived from earlier phases of technophysio evolution. Policy issues in the areas of health care, personal savings and retirement are also discussed in the light of the demographic changes that are occurring.
Some data reported by Fogel and those from other sources are anomalous. For instance, in view of the technophysio evolution particularly of the last 100 years, it seems strange that Dutch males, who were on average about 5'5" in 1860 are now the tallest in the world at about 5'11" while over the same period US men, who were about 5'7" then, are only 5'8" now after the declines of the last few decades. One explanation derives from the widening gap between the rich and the poor in the US (Gini = 45) compared to the greater income equality in the Netherlands (Gini = 30.9). (The Gini coefficient ranges from 1-100 with lower scores representing less income inequality). Also, there are data from millennia ago indicating a decline in average heights in the Eastern Mediterranean in the transition period from the hunter-gatherer economic regime to the first agricultural revolution (11,000 BC - 5000 BC). In John Kolmos (Ed.) Stature, Living Standards and Economic Development (Univ. of Chicago Press, 1994) there are a number of contributions that focus on such issues.
Professor Fogel touches very briefly on in utero, childhood and adolescence effects of economic status on morbidity and mortality, but his comment that "The exact mechanisms by which malnutrition and trauma in utero or in early childhood are transformed into organ dysfunctions are still unclear." (p. 32) is unwarranted. These relationships are detailed extensively in various chapters of the volume by Bruce S. McEwen and H. Maurice Goodman (Eds.) Handbook of Physiology: Coping with the Environment: Vol. IV (Oxford Univ. Press, 2001) for neuroendocrine abnormalities; in D.J.P. Barker's Mothers, Babies and Health in later Life (Churchill Livingstone, 1998) and Fetal Origins of Cardiovascular and Lung Disease (Marcel Dekker, 2001) for specific organ effects; in Peter Gluckman and Mark Hansen's The Fetal Matrix (Cambridge Univ. Press, 2005) for more general morbidity effects; and A.R. Cellura's The Genomic Environment and Niche-Experience (Cedar Springs Press, 2005) for the confluence of genetic influences, economic regimes, ecological niches, caloric intake, stature, morbidity and mortality.
Robert William Fogel's The Escape from Hunger and Premature Death, 1700-2100 is that rare species of research - longitudinal study. Unlike the cross-sectional snapshots whose importance often quickly fades, there is gold in these data mines that is so precious because it is so difficult to find and so hard to get to. It is must reading for those in human biology, medicine and the social sciences who are interested in the issues surrounding human adaptation. It will also appeal to life-long learners drawn to the interface between the biology, economics and history of the human condition.

Book Description
About the book: What is the connection between lost civilizations, ancient cosmic catastrophes, and extraterrestrial visitations in prehistory? Voices from Legendary Times draws together compelling evidence from archaeology, astronomy, geology, myths, and ancient texts to prove that superior beings from outer space genetically engineered several human races on our planet. . Examines the flaws in the theory of evolution. . Proves that giants were an important, yet now forgotten part of our history. . Explains what really caused the destruction of highly advanced civilizations and continents like Atlantis, Lemuria, and Thule. . Reveals that our ancestors were familiar with flying machines and nuclear weapons. . Shows proof of extraterrestrial contact in the Bible. In the search for lost origins of humanity, Ellen Llyod demonstrates that races of men have inhabited Earth for millions of years, but not all of them were human. Ancient sources describe the past ages as world cycles. The mysteries of the forgotten past reveal that the humans and all living beings have not been created once, but are products of a continuous re-creation process performed and guided by alien gods. Learn why our history is more startling than we could ever imagine!

What Part of Our World are we "Doomed to Repeat"?.......2007-09-27
We, on this planet, are repeatedly told; "He who forgets the Past, is doomed to repeat It; but, if we have already forgotten "it" "or...never even been told "it", where & how do we even start to get "clue one" about what "it"is? Legendary Times definitely gets a person off on the right foot, gets that foot in the door and that toe in the water! The ancient brought to light, & the public.
Legendary Times puts in one place; stories, facts, legends, recovered artifacts, scientific results, & first person accounts of humanity's origins. This compilation is written for the casual reader, yet still contains good clues for a researcher. If Legendary Times has a downside, it can be said to sort of "trail off towards the end" leaving one wishing for more data.
I bought a copy for a friend and find I am always going back to reference a fact.
Are there no editors at iUniverse?.......2007-09-03
There are a lot of problems with this book but the most glaring are the punctuation, sentence fragments and lack of continuity. If this book was translated from another language into English, where were the proofreaders? I've read lots of books translated from other languages that don't have these irritating mistakes.
With that said, I wonder about the research. Among her many assertions, she states that bones of giants found in CA were re-buried in order to suppress the true history of our origin. How does she know this? Though she has sources listed in the back of the book, there are no footnotes to indicate her source for such conclusions. I would think a mathematician, as the jacket states she is, would be more likely to demand proof. Her off-hand conclusions are not based on any arguments or proof that I found in her writing.
I believe there were civilizations prior to the Egyptian/Mesopotamian civilizations but this book is shallow and offers only wild speculation.
Save your money and eyesight.
Poorly written but worth the read.......2007-02-01
This book would be excellent if it were better written. My guess is that English is not the author's primary language. But beneath the annoyingly dropped words (especially "the"), incomplete and awkward sentences, and randomly placed commas is a wealth of substance. The author makes an excellent case that scholars should take cultural myths and legends more seriously, that there are important truths within the stories.
The tour of mysterious sites around the world, along with other evidence of long-lost great civilizations in our distant past, is relatively comprehensive and interesting. Yes, the "ancient astronauts" theory has for some time now been an object of merciless ridicule, but the ever growing body of anomalous evidence, in my opinion, continues to call conventional notions of human origins into question. Although this poorly written book would never suffice in an academic setting, it most certainly can serve well to introduce the reader to related theories proposed by the likes of Velikovsky, Alford, Hancock, Sitchen, and of course the controversial and giggle-factor encrusted popularizer, Erich von Daniken. If one is willing and able to push aside the ridicule, approach these theories objectively (and also tolerate annoying grammatical errors and typos) for the sake of understanding content, buy Voices, for it serves as a very good compilation of evidence proposed supporting ancient astronauts related claims.

Voices from Legendary Times by Ellen Lloyd
I have to be honest from the start, I am not a lover of books that deal with visiting "crafts" from outer space as an answer to the mysteries of the past. Ever since reading Daniken's book I always felt that many statements and claims were made without the evidence to back them up, and yet Ellen Lloyd has done a superb job in uncovering a huge and bewildering amount of
data. This is not just a simple tale claiming that ships landed on the pyramids of Giza, no, this is a really good and clever investigation into hundreds of mysteries, from the Hopi indians to the Maya, oh yes, and a really good read.
There are the infamous authors on extraterrestrial visitation such as Sitchin and Daniken with all their flaws and there are many unsung authors such as Ellen Lloyd who deserve to have their voices heard. The simple reason being that Ellen has done more research and uncovered more enigmas than Sitchin and Daniken put together and all this in one book. From the
moment Ellen steps into the "theory of evolution" she had me hooked because I associated with her as she ripped it to shreds. And then, without blinking she moved headlong into a territory many so-called authors would fear to
tread - Atlantis. In her cleverly deduced assumption there was much more to this ancient tale than previously believed - not least of which involved much more advanced technical abilities in ancient times.
Whatever your thoughts on little green men; whether you think there's something at Area 51 or not, you will be hooked by this well-written book that far surpasses the many other ET books I have read before. This is not a "it happened to me" story, but a really serious investigation into areas academics fear to tread and for that alone Ellen deserves applause.

Answers all the questions.......2006-06-05
As a true supporter of the ancient astronauts' theory, I find this book a great contribution to this field. For me personally, the AAS theory answers all the crucial questions regarding mankind's past. Who are we, were do we come from, who created us and why?
I hope that Ellen Lloyd will keep up her good work and continue where Däniken and Sitchin left off. I look forward to her next book.

Book Description
"Remarkable
.Ekirch has emptied night's pockets, and laid the contents out before us."Arthur Krystal, The New Yorker
Bringing light to the shadows of history through a "rich weave of citation and archival evidence" (Publishers Weekly), scholar A. Roger Ekirch illuminates the aspects of life most often overlooked by other historiansthose that unfold at night. In this "triumph of social history" (Mail on Sunday), Ekirch's "enthralling anthropology" (Harper's) exposes the nightlife that spawned a distinct culture and a refuge from daily life.
Fear of crime, of fire, and of the supernatural; the importance of moonlight; the increased incidence of sickness and death at night; evening gatherings to spin wool and stories; masqued balls; inns, taverns, and brothels; the strategies of thieves, assassins, and conspirators; the protective uses of incantations, meditations, and prayers; the nature of our predecessors' sleep and dreamsEkirch reveals all these and more in his "monumental study" (The Nation) of sociocultural history, "maintaining throughout an infectious sense of wonder" (Booklist).60 illustrations; 8 pages of color.
Customer Reviews:
Fascinating.......2007-04-11
The author adds to, and brings together (with elaboration) a number of minimally reported facets of culture in earlier centuries, and presents a fascinating picture of life after dark before the advent of electricity. There is much here that relates to current day fears and habits that illuminates [pun intended] and explains why we do what we do at night.
Interesting but not great........2007-03-18
I enjoy reading non-fiction books like this, a book I would put in the same category as "Cod" and "Salt" by Mark Kurlansky or "Wind" by Jan Deblieu. While there was lots of interesting stuff in "At Day's Close", I thought Ekirch didn't do a great job of tying it together. I thought Kurlansky did better along those lines with "Cod" and "Salt". Another thing that bothered me about "At Day's Close" was his focus on Europe and North America. I think it would have been more interesting if Ekirch had compared European attitudes with those of other cultures.
Interesting yet repetitive..........2007-02-21
The farther in the book I got, the more I felt a sense of deja-vu. Have I read this before? Yes. In the first chapter. The books reads like a broken record: what at first is interesting quickly becomes tiresome.
Has the author ever gone out at night?.......2006-11-13
I love well-researched non-fiction, particularly history. I heard about this book on NPR and thought it would be right up my alley. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most frustrating, boring reads of the last several years. The book is well-researched. The author writes well. The subject COULD BE inherently interesting. But jeepers -- I kept wondering whether the author had ever actually been farther than 20 feet from an light bulb. The book goes on an on about walking unpaved paths at night and how rough uneven ground made the going tough except under bright starlight or a full moon. Uh.... OK. This is maybe dramatic to city-folk or those who've never even made it as far as a weekend camping. But to the rest of the world, it's kind of obvious and boring. Similarly, the author talks about loss of inhibition and night-time revelry with the awe of of someone who's never been out for an evening to a bar or party. This book holds no surprises or even very interesting anectdotes for the vast majority of us who don't go to bed at 6PM or live in Manhattan.
Exhaustive research is appreciated, however...........2006-06-14
I have read too many poorly-researched books to complain much about exhaustive research. However, plenty of passages leave the reader to exasperate "ENOUGH CITATIONS ALREADY! WE GET THE POINT!"
While the book is large and dense with information, the author's admittance, via his appropriate writing style, that the subject matter is not exactly dire, makes for pleasantly lighthearted reading.

My eyes are opened........2006-12-03
I love this book. I want my friend to read it, but don't want to give up my only copy. I'll probably buy her one of her own for Christmas. This doesn't just go over finding soul mates and finding love, it also talks of reincarnation, and karma.
It opened my eyes to the fact that the struggles we face in this life are because of things we did or didn't do in our past lives. Mr. Webster also talks about when we do find our soul mate, the fact that he or she is our soul mate doesn't just insure that we will be together forever. Like anything you still have to work at it, even if you are supposed to be together.
I want to read it over and over again. I plan to use some of the technics for hypnotising myself and see if I can't catch a glimse of my past lives, so I am better prepared for this one. This book has even pushed me to look for a therapist specializing in past lives in my own area.
Great book. If you have any thoughts on reincarnation, karma, and your soul mate over many lifetimes, then you should get this book. It's a must read.
For everyone in search of real love, and those who've found it........2006-07-31
This is an AMAZING book! I cannot praise it highly enough. I am currently reading it for the second time, and don't doubt that I will read it many more times, simply because it is both informative and encouraging. Webster reassures us that there really is someone out there for everyone, and that all we need to do is prepare ourselves on the five levels, and remain positively expectant. Our own karmic bond with the other person will do the rest. He includes stories about numerous people he has taken back to their past lives, as well as helpful explanations of the law of karma, the history of past lives, and what a soul mate actually is. There are also various exercises to release any baggage that may be standing in your way, and to strengthen your magnetic connection with your soul mate, whom you may not have met.
I have read many books on relationships and how to make them work, and none of them have been more helpful, more reassuring, or simpler than this one. It comes VERY highly recommended by me! If you have been in search of a well rounded, well written book on the subject of soul mates, your quest will end here.
Good reading.......2003-06-24
I just about read this book straight though in one sitting. Easy to read and fast reading. There are a couple of really good pieces of information that this book offers. I enjoyed reading it. I feel that anyone who reads it will atleast find something useful in it.
