Best book on the Tarot on the market.......2006-11-30
This book brings the great Hermetic tradition which spawned tarot cards into clear focus. The meanings and magical significance of each of these cards is described in detail. You won't find this invaluable information anywhere else. The ancient tradition exhibited in the Tarot deck comes to life with Crowley's ideas in mind. Any magician would find this knowledge worthwhile. "Book of Thoth" is a must for any practitioner's occult library.
The Master of the Tarot.......2006-09-11
Crowely's Book of Thoth shows his mastery of the tarot, cabala, astrology and occultism in general. I have read this book four or five times, and I still don't understand some of it, but the portions that I have been able to assimilate are outstanding -- far better than the fuzzy wuzzy new age writing that has been creeping in to the occult genre since the advent of modern paganism in all its incarnations. Herein lies power and truth so seering and bright that it will blind you. I am not a Thelemite, and I am not a Crowely worshipper, but I must take my hat off to good writing.
I chose one random sentence from the book to illustrate the power of the writing. Crowley writes on the Death card, "The card itself represents the dance of death..." and elsewhere concerning the Princess of Wands "...she is unclothed, shewing that chemical action can only take place when the element is perfectly free to combine with its partner." I dare you to find another tarot book more powerfully written. I daresay you won't be able to accomplish such a task.
The Book of Thoth is the Tiphareth of my occult resources. I refer to it even before I refer to Agrippa or Hall. Buy it. Read it. Commit it to memory, O' thou seeker of wisdom.
Consider both books.......2006-08-28
Unless you're an expert Crowley reader, you might also appreciate Lon Milo Duquette's Book of Thoth, which aggregates the tables better and explains Crowley's writing in Duquette language -- a definite plus for one not completely attuned to Crowley's prose. But you really might consider ordering both together -- you'll appreciate from time to time looking at Crowley's original explanation which Duquette references.
Invaluable .......2006-06-30
This companion text to the Thoth Tarot is packed full of information straight from their creator's mind. While that can at times be problematic, in general the exceptionally detailed accounts that make no sense to the average individual can be passed by until applicable content is found. The text is an invaluable tool to use in connection with the Thoth Tarot. An excellent companion work to this text is DuQuette's "Understanding Crowley's Thoth Tarot" which I highly recomend if you find yourself lost in Crowley's explanations.
Aleister Crowley - Master Racist.......2005-10-12
This man was a fraud and racist of the most sinister class. He and his group of hate mongers used to chant to send "hate vibrations" into Black communities so that we would kill each other. He stands in a long line of confused, sick people who became fascinated by (and eventually set out to distort) the religious mythology of ancient Kemet (Egypt). If you buy this book it should be to burn it.

A must for every child being raised Spiritually.......2007-05-22
These Equiox and the Solstice books are cute and fun to read, at the end of the book are crafts and ideas to do with your children for the Equinox. I also like all the history it has in it, I learned quite a bit myself!! :)

The Source!.......2007-07-16
Designed to be the one, reference book, for students of Thelema, is certainly a tremendous resource! Highly recommended!
Book Description
Exploring the Night Sky is aimed at novice star gazers anxious to expand their astronomical repertoire beyond the Big and Little Dippers. Dickinson has designed a superb introduction to astronomy that is clear, concise, beautifully illustrated, and very "user friendly" no matter what the child's age.

My eight-year-old grandson practically ate up this book, he was so excited and interested. He had gotten a telescope for Christmas and this book brought his explorations of the night sky to life.
Christians Beware - Big Bang theory & ET fantasy.......2002-12-13
I bought this for our science homeschool since it had a children's award and we just got a telescope. I was disappointed that the first page covers the Big Bang theory - an explosion formed the sun and earth - as well as on page 25. Then on pages 46-47 it covers extraterrestrials. It says "most people believe we are not alone", and "most of us would like to believe that we are not alone in this vast universe". Although he states there is no scientific evidence of alien life, he goes on to fantasize about what aliens could be like, ending with the statement that they would be so far ahead of us technologically, that they may have seen us and since we look primitive they decided not to contact us! I'm going to return the book. Although the other information is well written and the pictures are helpful, I find his big bang and alien assumptions improper food for the minds of my young. I feel sorry for the author, for he would not feel so alone in the universe if he realized there is a God.

Did well in 1987 .... needs a new edition now........2001-10-01
This is a good introduction, and the pictures are great. However, it's dated now. "Jupiter will be below Pegasus in 1987". The stargazing sections give a useful, though basic, guide to the night sky for each season, taking the reader logically from one constellation to another. References to the locations of the planets span 1987 to 1999. Don't look to this book if you want to know where to see the planets tonight. Despite that, the book was worth buying as a first introduction to astronomy.
The bok that hooked me onto astronomy.......2000-02-02
This wonderful book is the one that got me hooked onto astronomy when I was just an 8-year old boy. Now as I am in college and studying astronomy, this book even though old (written c. 1986), has not lost its charm and magic to me. The best part of this book is the beautifully rendered paintings of the night skies and other sights around the universe, which will leave you breathless and in awe of the majestic canvas of the skies. I give it a 2 thumbs up and many stars!
Book Description
To synthesize the aim of religion and the method of science--this was the mission of the original 'Equinox,' a massive work in ten large volumes and several subsequent books. The complete 'Equinox' is rarely available and generally beyond the economic reach of most students. This one-volume collection contains all the important magical writings from the original. It has been edited and arranged by Crowley's secretary, Israel Regardie, so the student can "find his way through the maze more easily." It includes material on Crowley's magical order, magical rituals, yoga, invocations, and sex magick among many other topics.

Hail Brothers and Sisters!
Thank you for taking the time to read my review.
There really is no phraseolgy I can use to adequately tell you how highly I think of Aleister Crowley and what he has done for me and all those who I care about. YOU.
My GOD. My GOD. My GOD! Nothing can be said enough for a hard copy confirmation of your deepest intuitions. This book and the book "YOU ARE GOD, Get Over It" by Story Waters are the 2 most important volumes in my extensive spiritual library, which I've been collecting for the past 25 years. Not including The Bible (I was Christened in the Baptist church as a child).
Aleister - If I may take liberties - Hum! This man paved the way for the Messiah! I like to be called Tony. It's more personnable. When Aleister showed me the way it became infintely easier for me because this man knew what he was talking about. And he still does! I thought I was lucky to be a Probationer when I picked up this book. I was really an Adeptus Exemptus.
Thanks to to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Aethers outlined in the Vision and The Voice I quickly rose up the ranks of Ipussymus. Whoops! I think I mispelled that. Aleister had a great sense of humor and if you read the book reveiws at the back of this tome you will see that.
[...]
The deepest peace unto you, and keep up The Great Work!
Yours truly,
Tony.
Great book for all!.......2005-11-03
The greatest thing happened when Israel Regardie selelcted these papers from the original Equinox- he made available the most important magickal writings of that enormous first volume of ten installments to the student in one comprehensive collection.
This is sort of a textbook of the Magickal Orders AA and O.T.O., as many of these teachings apply to both orders. Although the author assumes the reader to have a good familiarity with some of these topics, ideas, and practices, much is to be gained in these writings for the complete beginner. A few of the many subjects include basic yoga postures and breathing techniques, various ceremonial rituals, meditations, an Enochian Magick Primer and a guided tour of the Thirty Aethyrs, The Book of The Law and various papers surrounding it - the list goes on. There is something here for every student of Occultism, Mysticism, Magick, Comparative Religion, Theosophy, ad infinitum. This book belongs in the library of every student of the Western Tradition.
A Gem Indeed.......2005-05-08
If you can only own three books associated with Crowley and his teachings, they would have to be "Magick: Liber ABA," "Magick Without Tears," and "Gems from the Equinox." This is a well organized synthesis of the most highly regarded contents of The Equinox. The reviews at the end are also good reading if you're looking for books on the occult or a good laugh.
made to stand next to your 'Golden Dawn' volume..........2003-12-21
Let us tersely and conveniently sum up the virtues...
1. For Golden Dawn people, Regardie describes this volume as the companion to his 'Golden Dawn' collection, whether you prefer the Llewellyn, or the more complete New Falcon Press edition. He does so in his newer introduction to his 'The Tree of Life,' and in another book, no doubt soon to be reprinted, called 'The One Year Manual.'
2. Regardie saw 'Gems' as a permanent addition to the Golden Dawn students shelf. Along with Crowley's original 'Magick in Theory and Practise,' he saw these two volumes as containing an immense amount of worthy material that could take the student a lifetime to assimilate and use. He makes this observation at the beginning of a volume entitled 'Ceremonial Magic,' hopefully soon to be reprinted.
The new edition of Crowley's 'Magick' isn't quite what Regardie had in mind for the student. He used to recommend the inexpensive Castle Books edition of 'Magick,' which still occasionally can be found (there is also a smaller paperback Dover books edition floating around, currently out-of-print.) Regardie really wasn't interested in seeing sincere students 'loading themselves down with lots of expensive books.'
(Regardie also write a short introduction for an edition of the first 2 parts of the currently available blue covered edition of 'Magick,' back in 1969. I am unaware if this smaller book is still in print.)
(Part 4 of Book 4 was 'The Equinox of the Gods.' I am unaware of Regardie ever writing any introduction to this book, in any edition. Sangraal Press may have released one in the late 60s/ early 70s. In any event, Regardie does not seem to consider it absolutely essential to understanding the most useful parts of the Crowley corpus. Regardie mentions 'The Equinox of the Gods' but little in his writings.)
3. 'Gems' distinguishes itself, as is noted above on this web page in the 'Book Description,' as enabling 'the student to find his way through the maze more easily.' It does this by dividing the different materials from the original Equinox into seperate sectioned subject areas within the same volume.
4. It is to be noted that Regardie has pointed out that Crowley's personality (!) made his material difficult to properly assimilate for the beginning student - and perhaps for a few advanced students as well. One will find that, in many cases, this is also true for the way Crowley composed much of the magickal material in 'Gems.' Separating the fiery and uneven Crowley from his material becomes part of the difficulty of the project: 'herein the task, herein the toil.'
5. New Falcon, at one point in the 80s, reprinted 'Gems' minus a certain amount of Regardie's introductory material. I think this is a mistake. I hate to sound purist, but we ultimately have little enough Regardie material as it is. We are all thankful, however, for New Falcon's Regardie efforts. See my recent review for 'The Complete Golden Dawn' volume published by New Falcon.
6. Thelemites will no doubt find 'Gems' useful. The bulk of them, however, will probably opt, at least eventually, for the full set of 'The Equinox' volumes entire.
7. As he reprinted much of Crowley's work, Regardie was often consulted or referred to as a Thelemite. Regardie objected to this, and clarified: 'I'm a Golden Dawn man !'
8. Many will be glad to know ahead of time, that the version of 'The Vision and the Voice' reprinted in 'Gems,' is not the annotated one that was released later, both in a smaller Regardie edition with intro., and in the later, oversized Weiser Publishers edition ( probably with intro. by the OTOs Hymenaeus Beta.)
9. Finally, some of the magick material reprinted in 'Gems' is actually available in the back of the different editions of Crowley's edition of 'Magick.' This makes no difference, as 'Gems' will organize the material more effectively, in the long run, for many students.
The above should serve, along with the rest of the present reviews, in encouraging the Golden Dawn student to procure this book as soon as he can, and gradually study it as he would his 'Golden Dawn' material.
Remember : sorting out the material is the real challenge here, and gradually assimilating it. One shouldn't rush the process.
So, forewarned is forearmed! Get a copy !
Well..................2002-03-24
The important texts from the Equinox, Assembled in one book, by Israel Regardie, for a price that makes it accessible. I think that sums it up and justifies the Five Stars!

Wonderful and eye opening.......2003-11-27
Well tomorrow is thanksgiving so I pulled out this book to get some ideas and I ended up just sitting here reading chapter after chapter so I thought I'd write a review. Theres such a wealth of information contained in this book - all sorts of interesting things about Thanksgiving and its origins, some wonderful stories from the old myths and oh, just a super section on animals within the chapter on Symbols of the Season. We have Turkey Vultures that migrate in each year within a day or so of the equinox each year and they stay for a bit. There's a wonderful section on the Turkey Vulture and honoring them. (The native americans called them Peace Eagles. There's a super chapter on rituals with poems honoring mother earth, and even a feast (menu and recipes as well as a blessing). I'm vegetarian and I was so pleased to see a recipe for vegetarian chili. There are some fun crafts like making amulets and other fun activities for connecting with the earth. Simply wonderful! My favorite of the Llewellyn series so far!
Wonderful addition to any Craft library.......2002-12-29
This was the first book in the Llewelyn Sabbat series that I purchased, and it is still my favorite. Mabon had always been one of those holidays I celebrated the same dull, dreary way year in and year out -- until I got this book.
The whole book is a definite must-read, particularly the sections pertaining to recipies, crafts, etc. As I already have a ritual structure, the sections containing rituals were less than useful.
Overall, a good book to have on hand for both fun and informative reading.
A Time of Blessings and Thanksgiving!!!.......2002-08-12
Mabon the book of honor, giving, celebrations and blessings! Llewellyn has a winner in their Sabbat Series with Mabon. While most of America celebrates thanksgiving, the rest of the world celebrates the Autumn Equinox. The time for celebrations and giving honor as the wheel of the year yet turns again.
Mabon begins with the Origins of Thanksgiving, not only in the United States but also in Canada. As Author Kristin Madden moves forward, the second chapter is Traditions Around the World. She hasn't left out history nor of Modern Themes. Continuing onto Myths and Deities she has chosen several including traditions such as Norse, Egyptian, Middle East, Sumerians, Babylonians, Hindus, Celts and many more. Bringing us now to Symbols of the Season with Colors, Stones, Mythical Creatures, Plants, Burial Cairnes and Sun Wheels.
Learn Rituals of Mabon with Incense, and Altar Decorations for Wicca, Druid, Norse, NeoShamanic and rituals for children. No book on the Autumn Equinox would be complete without recipes and crafts. Mabon has both, from mouth watering delights of food and drink, to wonderful children friendly crafts for celebrations of season, family and earth.
As you are reading Mabon your thought is "Wow! and still so much more!" Learn how to connect to the earth by tending your garden, planting for the new year, the reasons for gourd rattles, nature walks, even how to make your own compass and how to predict the weather. We couldn't forget about our friends outside and Mabon certainly hasn't. Learn how to make gourd birdfeeders and a sunwheel squirrel feeder.
Learn how you can connect with the sky and have an equinox party or making an equinox mask. Perhaps sun stones is more to your taste. As we are so much aware of the spirit of the community, this chapter brings forth just these issues. Honoring the Elders and the young, Letters of Thanksgiving, Honoring the dead, Honoring Family Ancestors, and a wonderful section on harvesting soap!
As Author Kristin Madden winds down her delectable book she concludes with Equinox Science. This last yet unforgettable chapter brings us Weather Folklore, Autumn Ecology, Astrology, Astronomy and Archeoastronomy. No matter your tradition or path, Mabon is an exciting and enticing read, one you will enjoy many many times through the turning of the wheel!

A Harvest of Information on Mabon.......2002-07-22
The Mabon book is the final installment in the Llewellyn Sabat series. They chose Kristin Madden to do this book, and a fine job she did. Another book that is well researched and is packed full of Autumn trivia, recipies, customs and lore.
Ms. Madden's credentials are impressive, she has the background and knows her material well. The different paths are explored, from the Hebrew to the American to the Celtic to the Norse. The book is a well rounded presentation of the Harvest season.
Harvest is about celebration, and the book contains ritual celebration, it contains the celebration of food, it discusses symbols and customs and traditions. There is a really good explanation of the Equinox that anyone can understand, and some basic astrological information that did not send me running for a reference book. There is even an Internet resource listing in the back of the book that points out web material on Autumn and the Equinox.
If you have not looked at this series by Llewellyn, it probably is one of the better series Llewellyn has created. It is a series of collected knowledge, research and insights by some wonderful authors, both well known and those who should be well known. Though many may not be familiar with Ms. Madden, with this book we will be looking for other titles from her.
Add this one to your collection or start the collection with this one. I think you will be pleased with the entire series, as I have been.

Book Description
The Equinox, also called The Review of Scientific Illuminism, has become the standard for English language esotericism, aptly termed the "Encyclopedia of Initiation" by its principal editor and contributor, Aleister Crowley. The remarkable variety, depth, and utility of its contents encompass Qabalah, tarot, yoga, and the essential papers of Crowley's teaching order, A. A. The new edition is supplemented by Crowley's serialized biography along with excerpts from his many diaries, an overview of the Golden Dawn System, a book-length special section of the Qabalistic dictionary Sepher Sephiroth, fiction, poetry, book reviews, and extracts from The Vision and the Voice and The Rites of Eleusis as well as important works by other noted authors such as The Key of the Mysteries by Eliphas Levi. Crowley's extensive annotations from his personal copies have been collected at the end of the set, along with biographies of the contributors.

Couple of things..........2006-03-28
The review titled "This May Not Be the 'Equinox' You are Thinking Of.." does not apply to this edition. That review seems to refer to one of the later Motta Equinox editions. I believe this is a reprint of earlier volumes edited by AC during his lifetime.
That being said, as of 27 March 2006 e.v. Weiser has "no publish date" for either this set or the Blue Equinox.
This May Not Be the "Equinox" You are Thinking Of..........2005-12-13
Please do not (as I did) confuse this single volume (Vol VII) compiled in 1992 with the 10-volume set Aleister Crowley published from 1909 to 1913 as have the other reviews on this page. Some of the descriptions can be misleading if not carefully read.
Also do not confuse it with the original "Red Equinox" published in 1992 which is Vol 1 (No.s 1-10) and Vol III (the "Blue Equinox", Vol. III, No. 1) eleven books published in seven volumes and bound in red leather. This is a different book all together.
This "Red Equinox" ("Volume VII, No. 1") was edited by Ray Eales & Vance Borland and published by Silver Star in Tampa, FL, in 1992. It contains the following chapters:
Editorial
Praemonstrance
Liber VII (Liber Liberi vel Lapidis Lazuli)
Liber DCL vel DE FONS AQUAE VITAE
Map of the Coins of the Ge Yuan (by Marcelo Motta)
Liber CCXXXI Visions by S.T.S. (circa 1978-1980)
Liber Cheth vel VALLVM ABIEGNI (from Equinox Vol 1, No. VI)
Liber Tzaddi (from Equinox Vol 1, No. VI)
Liber LXI
Postcards To Probationers (from Equinox Vol 1, No. II)
Yaweh is Egyption for Moon (David Bersson, 1990)
Liber Thisharb (from Equinox Vol 1, No. VII)
Magick and Film (by Ray Eales)
Antecedents of Thelema ("found in a rough typescript with annotations in AC's hand")
The Journey and the Waiting (by Ray Eales)
If this is what you are interested in, you might appreciate this book. I had all of the material published before 1992 (i.e., the AC material) in other books and compilations.
This is "an Equinox" but not "THE Equinox". See www.the-equinox.org for the complete listing of the content of Equinox Volumes I and III.
Caveat emptor!
oh my!.......2005-10-29
After looking everywhere for this massive work, I finally break down and buy the (used) two volume set here on Amazon. Needless to say, it is a real trip! Ranging from everything between the heavy, sober case studies, "scientific journals" and mystical treatise; to lighter reading in short stories, novels and flat out hysterical poetry! Of course, you can find everything that is in this work on-line (including the illustrations) for free, I just chose not to partake in the perpetual exploitation of genius - not that it is "wrong" to print out the whole work or save it onto your computer, I will leave that moral arguement to those who think they care. It is all a matter of personal choice. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
Excellent read, lots of bulk, but packed with idioms and witty humor.......2005-09-15
This is THE set if you want to study Magick (which stems from meditation, yoga, using one's will). It helps the student a lot, especially in volumes 5 and 8 where he teaches Gematria and gives out lengthy examples as oppossed to 777. Definetely the longest read he has made, the 10 volume 1992 Weiser set is the one to look for. I had the 2 book set, and the spine of the book was unstable, and it just wasn't the same. With this, the text is nice and big, so it makes it so much easier on the eyes (which already hurt from meditating LOL). Watch out for the 1992 edition, only 750 of them were made and they are now precious jewelstones in the modern Magickians' life of study.

A whopping good time!.......2004-10-04
An in depth collection of esoteric essays from the early 20th century. Subjects covered include meditation, drugs, veiled references to ritual sex, yoga, art, literature, magickal history, current (early 20th century) occult topics. The literary reviews are hilarious, if you are familiar with the subject. The advertisments in the back are fascinating.
Book Description
Mabon, Feast of Avalon, Cornucopia, Harvest Home, Festival of the Vine . . . there are many names for this magickal holiday that celebrates the autumn equinox, the first day of fall. Ellen Dugan takes a fresh look at this "forgotten" Sabbat and demonstrates how to make the most of this enchanting season.
Featuring craft projects, recipes, enchantments, and valuable information on harvest deities, Autumn Equinox offers countless ways to bring fall magick into your life. Learn to create witchy wreaths, cook seasonal foods, put together a homemade centerpiece, make herbal soap, and practice spells and rituals using easy to find, natural supplies. This new addition to Llewellyn's Sabbats series also provides magickal correspondences on harvest deities, herbs, plants, and foods for those who want to create their own autumn spells and charms.

Great read, wonderful detailed information. .......2007-05-28
Another great work by Ellen! This is one of the installments of Llewellyn's sabbat series, not all of which are created equal. However, this installment by Dugan is a jewel. She provides many ways to celebrate the holiday and season with your family. Great recipes and simple rituals let you honor the Equinox in a simple effective way. I always look forward to fall, and all the cozy days ahead and lovely Autumn weather. This book helps you make the most of those times.
Get the whole series. .......2007-05-07
Each Llewellen book has a cool introduction about the history of the holiday. I recommend all the sabbat books in this series - - they have a lot more information than in any individual sabbat book. Also good is Mabon: Celebrating the Autumn Equinox - these are two different book & both have new information.
As the leaves change..........2005-11-08
Wow! Another absolute WOW! Ellen Dugan had done it again. If you are a fan of this witty and wonderfully charming author, "Autumn Equinox: The Enchantment of Mabon" is a must have for your Craft collection. Inofrmation, ideas, spells, recipes, traditions...it's all in this easy, accessible, 208 page package.
As a practicing Wiccan for 7 years, I thought that I had always had a handle on the Sabbats. You know...cast a cirlce there, whip out the athame here, say your stuff and move right along, right? Sure...for a beginner. I've always wanted to move on to the history, the ideas and the knowledge behind these absolutley fascinating holidays. What better way to learn than from one of Llewellyn's hottest up-and-coming authors with my favorite Wiccan holiday of the year?
As always, Mrs. Dugan breaks it down clear and simple, beginning with her own personal stories of this bewitching time of the season, continuing with the mythological backbones to autumn through the tales of Persephone, Demeter,Elen, Pomona, Dionysus, the Green Man and Herene the Hunter. However, Ellen only does this after humoursly deciphering the meaning of the word "maize" (you have to read and find out for yourself now, won't you?). And just what else would this Garden Witch include as a chapter in her book? You guessed it! A chapter completley dedicated to "The Garden in Autumn: Fall Flower and Foliage Fascinations"--with an included Cold Hardiness Zone Map to easily pick out whether an Oakleaf Hydrangea or a Sweet Autumn Clematis would be better to plant in your backyard.
All I have to say is that with spell after spell, charm after charm, tid-bit after tid-bit, you come to wonder how the Autumn Equinox became known as the "forgotten sabbat" as Mrs. Dugan dutifully points out. I mean this season deals out the most recognizable changes of any other Sabbat. Just look at the leaves in your own neighborhood! If you want to come and fully experience such a wonderful holiday and time of year, I strongly suggest for you to pick up this fabulous book, get readin' and prepare to experience Mabon in a whole new "changed" way.
Fabulous Autumn Enchantments!.......2005-10-30
Autumn Equinox, is by far the best and most beautiful in the Sabbat series by Llewellyn. This fabulous book is filled with over 40 spells and rituals. Not to mention all the great mythology, and craft projects. The author focuses on the folklore of the Fall season and theme of the Harvest, and that is exactly what you'd expect for this "forgotten" Wiccan Sabbat.
If you are into gardening you will find many ideas for fall gardens as well as information on seasonal color and foliage of the trees.
However, what I enjoyed the most about Dugan's book is that it can be used for the entire Autumn season. Not just for a few days around the Sabbat. In fact with Halloween fast approaching I am going to use her seasonal suggestions to decorate up my house.
If you love the Autumn, you will be enchanted with this book!

Ryan & crew end up in Russia, with no way to get back..........1998-12-01
A very good read. Ryan and his group end up near Moscow in an old American embassy. However, the gateway is damaged, and they require some tools which they don't have to return to the Deathlands. Ryan, Kristy, and a character introduced in the previous novel go to Moscow in the hopes of finding the necessary equipment to fix the gate. Their presence is noticed by the same Russian Commander and his tracker introduced in the second novel, and its a race against time and the enemy to return to the gate, and get out of Russia, where the hatred of Americans burns brighter than ever...

Perfect for our homeschooling family!.......2005-10-26
We have been reading this book over and over again at bedtime. My children are 5.5 and 2 and both of them love hearing about how different people around the world celebrate one of our favorite times of the year. As a bonus, it gives us all kind of fodder for unit studies! I can't wait till it's time to start reading the Shortest Day!
Wonderful Book for ALL Children!.......2001-12-04
Even though we happen to be a Pagan family, any family would enjoy the history of the Autumn Equinox in this book. It's great to read what many ancient cultures did to celebrate the harvest and incorporate some into our modern life.
Wonderful Native American Tale at the end. Buy with the Winter Solstice book. I wish they would come out with the Summer Solstice and Spring Equinox!!!
