Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.
Book Description
On a clear morning in 1912, Harriet Quimby had a vision--she would become the first woman to fly solo across the English Channel. If she were to veer off course by even five miles, she could end up in the North Sea, never to be heard from again. But she took the risk, anyway.
Bestselling author Marissa Moss and award-winning artist C. F. Payne team up to tell this little-known historic story of a spirited woman who dared to take flight.

Book Description
It's after 9/11. After the bombing. After the Iraq war. After 7/7. After the Iran war. After the nukes. After the flu. After the Straits. After Rosyth. In a world just down the road from our own, on-line bloggers vie with old-line political operatives and new-style police to determine just where reality lies.
James Travis is a British patriot and a French spy. On the day the Big One hits, Travis and his daughter must strive to make sense of the nuclear bombing of Scotland and the political repercussions of a series of terrorist attacks. With the information war in full swing, the only truth they have is what they're able to see with their own eyes. They know that everything else is--or may be--a lie.

Not Free SF Reader.......2007-08-09
Cold war, with cable tv psychology and superscience.
What seems at first to be mostly a near future spy novel, shows it has a different focus, by looking at the uses common mobile phone technology and the internet via blogs and forums can be put to by spooks and those in the disinformation business.
The story centres on a family caught up in this, one spy, one activist, one soldier.
Definitely interesting in a future with tensions rising between superpowers, and killer diseases operating.
What appears to be a new type of weapon has been used in the UK, and this causes everything to change.
As the main non-spook blogger mentioned in the book describes it, a "WTF" type of moment.
I'd give it a 3.75 I think.
3.5 out of 5
simply wonderful.......2007-07-30
Ken Macleod's The Execution Channel very quickly made my favorite books list. Disinfo, blogging, spies, thermonuclear warfare (especially fear of), pandemics, dystopia, torture, execution pornography, hacking, fear, terrorism... all themes of today's world brought about in an engaging, well-written, thrilling novel.
it's alternahistory and future speculative. al gore wins 2000. 9/11 occurred not in NYC but in Boston and Philadelphia. Global warming has quickly wreaked havoc, causing innumerable displacement of people. Pandemics have ravaged the globe. And some huge explosion on the scale of a nuclear bomb has exploded in Scotland, and inspired, terrorists blow up highways and crash planes into airports while skins and average joes attack "Mozzies" (muslims) indiscriminately. Around this is weaved the story of one family headed by a failed scientist cum IT hacker who turns to secretly spying for France while his daughter, an anti-war protester, is caught up in a Web surrounding the Leuchars explosion, having been previously warned by her brother, who is in the British military, that she should flee the area.
This little book has a lot going for it, and I recommend it to anyone interested in the above dystopic themes.
Could Have Been a Terrific Novel.......2007-07-24
This book s a letdown. One feels cheated with the ending. You thought he was working up to a big insight, which would clarify and deepen all the things that preceded it, and what you get is a copout pseudo-science highly unbelievable ending.
The ride was pretty good, I thought, but the destination, where he brings you, was stupid. I would not have minded a crazy ending if it didn't feel so trite as this one does. The bulk of the story seemed to have a moral weightiness and toughness that totally disappears with the ending, like the whole thing was a big joke or meaningless, though I don't think the author intended this effect as if he were some sort of maniacal, mentally disturbed existentialist. It's another one of those novels that could have been deep and fine but ended up meaningless and trivial.
Maybe he was just embarrassed to use all the conspiracy theory material or didn't take it seriously, so he concluded the whole thing with an utterly implausible ending, as if to say, "See, I didn't really believe in this conspiracy nonsense; like my ending, it's all a bunch of implausible nonsense." (I guess this implies his friends will still take him seriously and he'll still be invited to cocktail parties for postmodern, clever, ironic authors.)
And as a friend of mine pointed out to me in an email, he thought "there would be something in the ending that explained the `alternate history' angle, Gore as president, 9/11 an attack on Boston, etc., and even explain why all the sentences beginning with letters and proper names beginning with letters `fi' used lowercase `f's'." But attention all potential readers of this book: forgetaboutit - the explanations aren't there!
Macleod is a gifted writer, but he was badly served by his editor. A competent editor, who is paid to see serious flaws in a book, such as those stated above, and get the writer to correct them, could have made a difference that would have resulted in a terrific book.
One way Macleod could have turned this into a great book, or at least a much better one, was to work much harder than he did with the "execution channel" concept. Even though "execution channel" is the title of the book, it ends up as a flashy but ultimately throw-away minor prop instead of a decisive element or factor in the plot or character development of the leading players of the story. It could have been almost totally left out, with a few easy adjustments made in a few parts of the narrative, without it affecting the overall storyline. Yet his description of what the "execution channel" did and how it did it was very intriguing, tantalizing, mysterious, even unique, and offered a lot of potential for some deep social commentary, I think. But he barely scratched the surface of exploiting its potential. On the other hand, Macleod handled the use of blogs and blogging by certain characters and its value as a communications medium extremely well, masterfully even. Why did he not extend such skill to writing well about the mysterious execution channel itself?
Life is too short - save your precious time/money and avoid this inferior novel. That's what I get from believing Cory Doctorow's positive but shallow, misguided recommendation for it from his Boing-Boing web site. He said it scared the fecal matter out of him. Really? But why? That something so flawed could be published? Perhaps publishers will refrain from publishing bad books when enough readers cease spending money on their badly-edited junk.
save your money - formulaic and trite.......2007-07-24
1 star - because amazon doesn't do 0 stars. I hate to say this but i was very disappointed by this book. There's really no new ideas that make this book worth reading. New thing in the book - people blog. Yay, woo ! Ho hum conspiracy theories. The characters are not really fleshed out and at no time do you really identify with them. The resolution is insane - magic technology that just comes out of nowhere with no warning. I guess the author wanted to extrapolate from the fears people have of the current US regime, but his fears are unfortunately predictable and unsurprising. I have to say i came away unimpressed from this work.
Arise, ye oppressed masses!.......2007-07-18
Okay, let me start this review by noting that there were some things I did NOT like about this novel. The "execution channel" itself - a TV channel that broadcasts random execution scenes - seems like a plot device that is needed for one punch to the reader's stomach and then discarded. It makes clear how brutal the world depicted in the novel is, but we get that, thank you. The novel also depressed the heck out of me for days.
It's a depressing story. The world has gone to the dogs, and lies are weapons of mass distraction that the governments use to obscure their dirty work. When a series of terrorist attacks cripples Britain after a nuclear detonation over a Scottisch airbase, the lies are so thick on the ground you never quite know if the terrorists are Al-Qaeda, someone pretending to be Al-Qaeda, someone run by Al-Qaeda, or all of the above. It's our world as it is today, but worse. And yes, it can get worse. Easily.
I'll tell you what this novel is not. It's not preachy; it's indignant. Important difference. It's also not leftie Bush-bashing. It's an angry novel about people being afraid of their government, rather than the other way around.
It made me angry. It's also MacLeod's angriest novel since "The Star Fraction" and I, for one, welcome the return of that anger, that justified distaste at the state of the world. I've enjoyed all his novels inbetween that first one and this, his latest one, but they were popcorn compared to the more substantial fare offered here.
It's a great novel. It should make you angry too.

Book Description
An electrifying new voice in military fiction, Joe Buff has written a riveting and totally realistic tale of military adventure-a spectacular novel that is sure to establish this outstanding author as the new master of the genre. Vividly authentic and impeccably researched, it takes readers into the not-too-distant future, when the United States is embroiled in a tactical nuclear war that will mark a new era of weapons and tactics, geopolitical alignments, and human courage....
Deep Sound Channel
The year is 2011, and in South Africa a reactionary coup has established a military government that has begun sinking U.S. and British merchant ships. NATO quickly responds, with only Germany holding back-until Germany starts nuking Poland and eviscerating the French. Now the South Atlantic is a battleground where nuclear-tipped missiles rule-and the only gun worth using is one that seeks and fires from deep beneath the sea.
In response, Lieutenant Commander Jeffrey Fuller and the crew of the nuclear submarine USS Challenger are called in to help. Ceramic-hulled and designed for maximum stealth, the Challenger is being sent to South Africa for a mission critical to stopping the war. Together with a team of Navy SEALs and assisted by Boer freedom fighter Ilse Reebeck, Commander Fuller must infiltrate the enemy coast and attack a compound where scientists are putting together the ultimate biological weapon-a violent, deadly microbe that has the potential to wreak global devastation.
For Jeffrey Fuller, the operation will take him back to his former life as a SEAL. It's his job to steer the team of operatives to shore; penetrate concentric arcs of armaments, minefields, and sensors; and destroy the death lab. If the mission works, the
bioweapon will be destroyed and shock waves will cripple the South African government. If it goes wrong, fallout will kill thousands of innocent people.
Deep Sound Channel provides a rare and telling look into the future of our military's weapons-and into the horrific violence of tactical nuclear war. It is a cutting-edge masterpiece that takes readers on a wild and unforgettable ride of suspense, nuclear warfare, and underwater adventure

Everything's better, down where its wetter, under the Sea!.......2005-07-10
In this intricately woven undersea-tale, Joe Buff has created a gripping story of a possible future conflict. Frightening believability is supplied by his technical research on current hardware and it's logical progession into future gadetry. The story line regarding the re-emergence of Germany as a dominating power in Europe, bent on reestablishing past levels of power and prestige on the world stage after the decline of the former US and Soviet Union "super-powers", is consistent with the rise and fall of other powerful nation-states over thousands of years of recorded history. Reinforced by an "Axis of Evil " partnership with like-minded South African Boer comrades seeking to relive their glory days of dominance over subject populations in their region, the new realities have forced the former super-powers into unaccustomed roles.
A badly weakened and disorganized America reacts slowly and with limited success to the surprise onslought of combined German-Boer forces. Russia is a "neutral", but supplying clandestine support to the new "AXIS", while the rest of the world waits to see who gains the upper hand before declaring any public support for either side! Joe's work in current national defense commentary for non-fiction outlets in military and public-policy circles lends additional credibility to the scenarios he paints in this novel.
The authentic operational proceedures and dialog between characters in military actions creates the feel of a transcript recorded on the scene by the author. This occasionally gets into a great deal of technical detail, obviously designed to help the reader follow the "decision cycle" and "brainstorming " needed to solve grave problems in a tense and critical situation. The relationships between characters, both official and unofficial, are well written and make the people worth caring about in the midst of all the technical wonder and battle excitement. The minor flaw of occasional technical overload in an otherwise outstanding first effort by Joe Buff, does not detract enough to mar a Five-Star rating !
Not even close..........2005-05-07
The authors name should be BLUFF because he seems to have bluffed his way onto the book shelves. The plot is dumb, the dialogue is childish, the technology is impossible, the tactics are unreal and the characters are flat. Other than that its a great book. Seriously - don't waste your time or money. This book is a loser.
CONN-SONAR...INCOMING NUCLEAR TORPEDO!!!.......2005-05-04
Move over Tom Clancy and Michael Dimercurio.
Clancy riveted us with "Red October" in the 80's and Dimercurio in the 90's. Now it's Joe Buff.
This story takes place in the 21st century and now a new enemy (or old one), not the Middle East, the Axis powers are aligned again. The battles are fought almost exclusively on and under the high seas using tactical nuclear weapons.
The sub versus sub cat and mouse battles have taken on a whole new game; the primary weapons are now nuclear torpedoes. Added to the plot is that the U.S Navy has a new deep-diving submarine commanded by a daring and innovative captain facing off against Germany's deep-diving submarine also commanded by a cunning captain. These two characters are just developed enough that you respect both of them and if it were not wartime they might even be colleagues; very well written! The sub battles will keep you on the edge of your seat as Mr. Buff's knowledge whether real or fictional is entertaining.
Compared to Clancy and Dimercurio I found the story-telling more evolved with technology and human drama perfectly intertwined. In other words if you find that Clancy and Dimercurio drown you in techno-babble you will like Joe Buff
Yes some of the technology is far-fetched but it helps make for great and interesting underwater battles.
You do not get lost in submarine techno-babble. Joe Buff does not really over-develop the characters; and just as he is giving you a glimpse into their human frailties that's when sonar picks up an incoming active nuclear tipped torpedo!
Joe Buff has Clancy's technological fact-spinning and mixes it with Dimercurio's real-life hands-on sub experience; the result is a great read.
Slightly unbelievable but still, an author which I highly recommend.
Book Description
Relive history as the men who experienced some of the most intense battles of World War II share their stories. The WWII Battle Classics, produced as major TV specials by Lou Reda Productions for the past twenty years, have been brilliantly adapted for thrilling audio presentation. It's more than fascinating listening, it's essential history, told in the words of the eyewitness heroes who were there and the historians who recorded their deeds. World War II: The Pacific features full orchestration and the deadly clamor of desperate battle.
The Road to Infamy: The Countdown to Pearl Harbor features the fascinating unseen story of the violent decade of miscalculation that brought the U.S. and Japan into fatal confrontation. Rare archival material from the secret vaults of many nations highlight the tragic blunders on both sides. The surprises come thick and fast.
Unsung Heroes of Pearl Harbor: America's mythmakers don't like to look into defeats for their heroes. The disaster at Pearl Harbor was such a national humiliation that its chroniclers didn't care to remind the home front of its dead and ravaged.
Japanese War Crimes & Trials: Murder Under the Sun War reigned around the world between 1932 and 1945. During this rampage of insanity, over 320,000 allied prisoners were captured by the Japanese forces. Their survival rate was dismal -- one in three died. From the Bataan Death March, to Changi and Palembang prisons, the atrocities were everywhere.
Dateline Tarawa: Correspondents from Hell: Part I and The Flag Raisers of Iwo Jima: Part II The battle for the Pacific island of Tarawa was one of the most ferocious of the war. At the center of it all were warriors whose only weapons were cameras, notebooks and sketchbooks -- the unknown combat journalists sent to communicate to Americans the vital importance of defeating the Japanese war machine. Part II: One of the most famous American flags ever flown was the one that six men lifted up on a mountain overlooking the blood stained Pacific island of Iwo Jima. As this riveting account reveals, the heroes of Iwo Jima included not only the men who planted that flag, but also the countless, nameless others who fought and died to make that unforgettable moment possible.

Book Description
Relive history as the men who experienced the most intense battles of World WarII share their stories. The WWII Battle Classsic -- produced as major TV specials by Lou Reda Productions -- have been brilliantly adapted for this thirilling audio presentation. This is essential history, told by the eyewitness heroes who were there. World WarII: Europe features full orchestration and the clamor of desperate battle.
Patton: A Genius For War While the names of great WWII commanders have faded into the history books, the name "Patton" rings out with resounding force. It evokes a profane, "go-for-the throat, hell-on-wheels commander whose armored columns dismembered Hitler's "thousand-year-Reich" with matchless thunder and dash.
Rommel: The Last Knight He served the cruelest monster who ever lived yet emerged with his reputation shining. His military brilliance inflicted crushing defeats upon French, English and American generals, who nonetheless regarded him with awe and respect. His men loved him. His enemies feared him. No one forgot him.
D-Day Normandy: June 6th, 1944 The story of how close to disaster the D-Day invasion came has never been fully told. Listen to those who shared in Normandy's longest day.
David Pergrin: The Panzer Stopper The legendary heroes of the Battle of the Bulge got all the glory. It was a tiny band of unsung heroes that saved the battle -- perhaps the outcome of the war -- for the Allies. This is the story of David Pergrin and the kid engineers who slammed the door in Hitler's face.
Peter Tomkins: The Spy That Sparred With Hitler Peter Tompkins, a twenty-three year old American spy in Nazi-oppressed Italy, operated far behind enemy lines wth a price ion his head. On his own, without help or refuge, he led Italian partisans in a devastating campaign of espionage and sabotage against the occupying Nazis.

Not Free SF Reader.......2007-09-03
The planet that these people live on has a mutated humanity, split into two dominant forms, the Simes and the Gens.
The former exists as a type of energy vampire, using the others as a food and energy source.
When a wealthy young man's girlfriend turns into a Gen, he realises that something is wrong, and tries to save her rather than sell her into slavery, basically.
Lichtenberg is the queen of character-driven drama.......2003-08-06
I first read this novel in high school, and it left quite an impression. The world of Sime/Gen is split into two groups. The dominant Simes who must kill and drain the energy fields of Gens to survive, and Gens, who are bred like cattle. Both Races are humanoid, except Simes have tentacle like appendages which come from their forearms when they are 'hungry.'
Rimon Farris is a son of a Gen breeder, a man who breeds and 'harvests's Gens to sell on the Sime market. When Rimon's girlfriend Kadi matures and develops Gen characteristics, Rimon will do anything to save her from the auction block.
This is an excellent series, sure to delight fans of science fiction and character-driven drama. The Sime/Gen conflict is interesting and creates believable tension throughout. Don't miss this one!
A must-read for anyone who cares about others.......1998-12-06
First Channel covers the beginnings of a new way of cooperation in a future world of impossible strifes and distrusts. When Rimon discovers his girl has 'turned out wrong', he risks his life to save her - and finds out that she is the one capable of saving him. How they work out a new life in a hostile land, gather around them a few others who prefer cooperation over killing, and found a new way of life is a good read on many levels: frontier adventure, relationship adventure , and learning to challenge old assumptions.
I read it about twice a year, just for the joy of it.
This series should be reprinted!!!.......1998-02-07
I also read these books in years past. Both the channel series and the dashau series. I would like to get my hands on copies again and reread. They were inventive, with great character development.
Brilliant,InsightfulSeries;Extends the Reiki/Aikido concepts.......1997-07-04
The Sime-Gens Novels were the most innovative I have ever read. i wish they would return to print so that I could give them to others to read
