Book Description
Twelve-thousand feet beneath the Atlantic Ocean . . .
scientists are excavating the most extraordinary undersea discovery ever made. But is it the greatest archaeological find in history—or the most terrifying?
Former naval doctor Peter Crane is urgently summoned to a remote oil platform in the North Atlantic to help diagnose a bizarre medical condition spreading through the rig. But when he arrives, Crane learns that the real trouble lies far below—on “Deep Storm,” a stunningly advanced science research facility built two miles beneath the surface on the ocean floor. The topsecret structure has been designed for one purpose: to excavate a recently discovered undersea site that may hold the answers to a mystery steeped in centuries of myth and speculation.
Sworn to secrecy, Dr. Crane descends to Deep Storm. A year earlier, he is told, routine drilling uncovered the remains of mankind’s most sophisticated ancient civilization: the legendary Atlantis. But now that the site is being excavated, a series of disturbing illnesses has begun to affect the operation. Scientists and technicians are experiencing a bizarre array of symptoms—from simple fatigue to violent psychotic episodes. As Crane is indoctrinated into the strange world of Deep Storm and commences his investigation, he begins to suspect that the covert facility conceals something more complicated than a medical mystery. The discovery of Atlantis might, in fact, be a cover for something far more sinister . . . and deadly.
Like Lincoln Child’s spectacular bestsellers coauthored with Douglas Preston (The Book of the Dead, Relic), Deep Storm melds scientific detail and gripping adventure in a superbly imagined, chillingly real journey into unknown territory. Child is a master of suspense, and Deep Storm is his most ambitious novel to date.
Customer Reviews:
Not a Deep Connection........2007-10-09
I just finished reading "Deep Storm". It was okay, but not great.
There was a very...clinical element in the way the story was told. We never really find out any personal details about the characters. As a result, the story ends without the reader forming a substantial emotional bond with any of the characters.
While this doesn't prevent the story from being told, it could definitely have been told better. Adding personal details about the characters is just one way this could have been accomplished. Another missed opportunity was adding more details to those characters who said they were hearing voices. It would've been interesting to eavesdrop on those [Spoiler Warning!] voices/alien transmissions.
The book was a quick read, but unfortunately nothing that I would be motivated to read a second time.
"It's all broken ..." (possible spoilers).......2007-10-04
One of the more idiotic characters of the book keeps uttering this, and boy how right he was. There were a number of just plain holes in the plot. Here's a little one. A character who's role was to just be murdered sets up a meet with a bad guy at a gas station. He has the air compressor tire pump with him. He invites the bad guy into his car. He gets into the car and shuts the door. He *still* has the compressor hose in his hand. Did he thread it through the open window before getting into the car? Who knows? Somehow it ends up being long enough for his killer to take from him, jam down his throat, and turn on.
Here's another one. The bad guy later has to insert an encoded message into an image file. All he has to work with is a dumb terminal with no hard disk. So he writes a program and, uh, *compiles* it, then runs it. First, what dumb terminal is going to have a compiler? Second, if you compile a program you have to save it somewhere. Well where do you save it if you don't have a hard disk?
The book is full of little pieces of foolishness like this. For instance, 2 miles down in the ocean, there's a flash of light, and the ocean bottom is packed with all the funny looking denizens of the deep. If you're going to write a book you should know a little about the location of your main action. Like: the deep ocean isn't just packed full of funny looking fish.
Last one: all marines are violent robots who follow their evil overlord to death without individual thought ... especially the "special ops" ones.
Anyway I could go on, but you get the idea.
His Best Yet.......2007-09-13
This is Lincoln Child's best book yet! I have read every book by Child and his co-author Preston. Loved the imagination that went along with the story, you could almost feel yourself down at the ocean floor with all the characters. The ending, I hope, leaves room for a continuing novel.
Not nearly deep enough for me.......2007-09-12
An adventure unfolds in the deep sea several miles below an oilrig in the north Atlantic in Lincoln Child's Deep Storm, where a phalanx of scientists, doctors and marines in a massive seabed complex prepare to excavate a great discovery, perhaps the greatest discovery of all time, we are told.
And thus the adventure unfolds; it unfolds and unfolds and unfolds and yet, sadly, it never really arrives anywhere special; the author's attempts at any sort of real depth flounders despite his crisply written pages. Yes they are scribed with scalpel-sharp techno description, jam-packed with medical and science fact. But in all honestly, the wealth of research packed into the novel does nothing to develop the spirit of the main character, Peter Crane a navy doctor who's been dispatched to the undersea science complex to help solve the mystery of an outbreak of mysterious illnesses. In fact, none of the characters pop to life in Deep Storm.
The narrative leads Crane and the reader into first believing that Atlantis has been discovered, but that notion is soon dispelled when further investigation reveals that the top-secret mission is actually a dig for some alien technology buried some 600 years ago just inside the Mohorovicic Discontinuity, or "Moho" as it's called, the boundary between the earth's crust and mantle, which under the sea is not as deep as in other areas. It's still deep enough to be causing all sorts of problems and mishaps. For starters, the medical outbreak, (mental disorders mostly, which, for story purposes is quite lame) might be due to the depth or the alien technology or something else. Then there's a saboteur aboard (of course there is, it's one of the elements you need in every undersea tale). There's also a mystery involving some miniature alien technology that appears to be transmitting a binary code warning: do not dig here, danger to the solar system!
Throw into this mix a caricature naval commander hell bent on carrying out the mission at all costs even if it means losing every man and woman on board or, worse, blowing up the entire solar system. But in the end, Crane saves the moment. The earth and the solar system live to see another day. Although in the final page, Child's lays down yet one more spin on the tale: perhaps it isn't over after all. This is an okay read but it's clinical and dispassionate in style. If Crane's character had been built upon, if the author had tempered his urge to reveal all that he'd researched in favor of some heart and passion, if he'd penned it with his partner (Thunder Head, Preston and child, what a ride!) it could have been great. Into the Abyss
Incredible Ride! .......2007-08-11
Ok... so I started reading this and said "been there...done that" then suddenly the story started to morph and one of the wildest and most exciting rides I've been on for a quite a while unfolded! Great read! Well written! Lincoln's best since Utopia (which I also recommend!!)

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
Presents conclusive evidence that ancient Egypt was originally the remnant of an earlier, highly sophisticated civilization
• Supports earlier speculations based on myth and esoteric sources with scientific proof from the fields of genetics, engineering, and geology
• Provides further proof of the connection between the Mayans and ancient Egyptians
• Links the mystery of Cro-Magnon man to the rise and fall of this ancient civilization
In the late nineteenth century, French explorer Augustus Le Plongeon, after years of research in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, concluded that the Mayan and Egyptian civilizations were related--as remnants of a once greater and highly sophisticated culture. The discoveries of modern researchers over the last two decades now support this once derided speculation with evidence revealing that the Sphinx is thousands of years older than Egyptologists have claimed, that the pyramids were not tombs but geomechanical power plants, and that the megaliths of the Nabta Playa reveal complex astronomical star maps that existed 4,000 years before conventional historians deemed such knowledge possible.
Much of the past support for prehistoric civilization has relied on esoteric traditions and mythic narrative. Using hard scientific evidence from the fields of archaeology, genetics, engineering, and geology, as well as sacred and religious texts, Malkowski shows that these mythic narratives are based on actual events and that a highly sophisticated civilization did once exist prior to those of Egypt and Sumer. Tying its cataclysmic fall to the mysterious disappearance of Cro-Magnon culture,
Before the Pharaohs offers a compelling new view of humanity’s past.

Before the Pharaohs: Egypt's Mysterious Prehistory.......2007-09-28
Flawed premise followed by equally flawed argumentation can lead you to any conclusion you wish to find. This book is no different from the multitude of books out there trying to capitalize on the basic ignorance people have of the wealth of information we really do possess about the history of pre-Dynastic Egypt.
There's no mysterious connection between the Maya and they Egyptians...their pyramids are separated not only by thousands of miles of ocean, but by thousands of YEARS in time! The Sphinx at Giza has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt to be Fourth Dynasty in its origin... and not the fanciful product of some mysterious "Lost Civilization" for which not a stitch of evidence exists anywhere in the world. The "older sphinx" debate died when unbiased geologists (Reader, Solenhofen, Harrell, etc) looked at the site and easily explained the erosion patterns they saw within the timeframe required.
This book relies upon defunct theories from the 19th century as its theoretical foundation, and then proceeds to lead the (hopefully ignorant) reader down the rabbit hole to a place that has nothing whatsoever to do with real Egyptology, Egypt, or human history.
This book, by its very nature, is not worth the money or time to read it.
Good Book.......2007-08-13
Arrived quickly and fed into a research project that I am conducting. Excellent questions and surprisingly a lot of sound answers. Good reading if you question the status quo of things.
Interesting.......2007-07-12
The book is well written and very thought provoking. Seems well balanced considering the non-orthodox conclusions made by the author. If you have an interest, like I do, in speculative prehistory, a la Graham Handcock, then you will enjoy this book. I like that the author, unlike some, does not sweepingly dismiss conventional science and orthodox views and therefore does not come off as a fringe lunatic.
Fascinating read!.......2007-05-12
I had just come back from a trip to Egypt when I ordered this book. This book is for those genuinely interested in delving into the roots of an ancient civilisation. Its not a novel - so please don't insult the author by judging it as "slow" as has been stated in another review. Its an oustandingly well-researched, fascinating and thought-provoking study for those who have so often wondered about the origins and amazing feats of engineering of the ancient Egyptians. Malkowski is a meticulous writer who takes enormous trouble to try to clarify the origins our human history and the links between ancient civilisations and gives us the chance to make up our own minds. He forces nothing upon the reader - but dangles fascinating and seductive pieces of information which will leave you wishing for more.
interesting but slow.......2007-01-09
this book has an incredible amount of fascinating information, but it is not organized well. The writing does not grab your attention, but rather, you have to force yourself to find the interesting material. It can get a bit "Von Daniken" at times-- especially the chapter about the pyramid being a power plant, but overall it is a good, solid, informative book that challenges the typical archeological canon we are all handed. If you are willing to wade through it, you will find info that is worth while.

A must read !!.......2007-04-10
If you're an ancient mysteries buff such as myself, you'll love it.
Fascinating readings.......2006-08-15
As a student of the Cayce readings for decades, I find the Atlantis readings fascinating, particularly with regard to their historical dating.
In line with Cayce's record of 85% accuracy on other subjects (primarily medical), there is currently one school of Egyptian archeology that dates the pyramids as 10,000 years older than previously believed based on geologic evidence of water & erosion . Cayce indicated that the Egyptians were refugees from the destruction of Atlantis.
One previous reviewer misstated facts regarding Cayce's readings; he listed moderate smoking as helpful for specific individuals, not for everyone. He stated repeatedly that excessive smoking was extremely damaging & dangerous. Current medical studies bear this out (less than 10 cigarettes per day vs. 1 pack or more). The personal bigotry against tobacco has perhaps colored the reviewer's understanding of the words Cayce used in describing the location of Atlantis & it's history.
Although there are other theories that propose Atlantis to be located in the Mediterranean, no geologic or scientific studies have disproven anything in Cayce readings detailed in this book.
If you are willing to keep an open mind & research further on your own, I believe this is an excellent book and you'll find it both interesting & enlightening.

Yet another in the series about the late Sleeping Prophet of Virginia Beach. I thought this was a boring book. I also don't believe a word of it. Anyone who does subscribe to the notions of this book needs to take some elementary history and geology courses. It'd be one thing if it was presented as fiction but it's given as apparent fact. Over the years Cayce gave a lot of information in his life about the continent of Atlantis and its role in human (pre)history. The problem is, Cayce gave dates for when Atlantis was to rise from the ocean once again. 1975 and some other predicted times came and went and as far as I know, no Atlantis. Surely we couldn't miss a massive continent jutting up out of the Atlantic near Bermuda, could we? This should be one more nail in the coffin of Cayce's reputation (he also claimed moderate smoking was good for you, along with many false predictions and downright silly assertions) but for some reason the "sleeping prophet" seems as famous among need-to-believe types as ever. I've read a couple of his books, or I should say, books assembled out of his various "psychic" readings, and in every case I came away feeling ripped off and let down. Was Cayce for real? He did seem to enter a trance-like state, true, but the things he said from within those trances don't seem in hindsight to have been validated, so I question how much value should be placed on them. Hey, if reading about fantasies of lost continents makes you happy, then slap down your eight bucks for this book. An evening spent with a Cayce book isn't as bad for you as, say, moderate smoking. From my own non trance-like state, however, I, the Non-Sleeping Prophetess of Mason, Ohio, predict most people won't feel it's worth their time and money.

Book Description
CAN ARCHAEOLOGY’S GREATEST MYSTERIES
BE TRACED BACK TO THE LOST
CIVILIZATION OF ATLANTIS?
The Great Pyramid. Stonehenge. Machu Picchu. For centuries, these and other sacred sites have attracted pilgrims, scholars, and adventurers drawn by the possibility that their true spiritual and technological secrets remain hidden. Who could have built these elaborate monuments? How did they do it? And what were their incomprehensible efforts and sacrifices designed to accomplish?
Now comes a revolutionary theory that connects these mysteries to reveal a hidden global pattern--the ancient work of an advanced civilization whose warnings of planetary cataclysm now reverberate across one hundred millennia. Here is startling evidence of an intelligent society dating back as much as 100,000 years--one that sailed the oceans of the world, building monuments to preserve and communicate its remarkable wisdom.
The Atlantis Blueprint is the authors’ term for a complex network of connections between these sacred sites that trace back to Atlantis: a sophisticated maritime society that charted the globe from its home base in Antarctica...until it was obliterated by devastating global changes it anticipated but could not escape. Opening up a Pandora’s box of ancient mysteries, lost worlds, and millennial riddles,
The Atlantis Blueprint is a story as controversial, fascinating, dangerous--and inspiring--as any ever told.

Tiresome hodge-podge.......2007-09-24
I'll be brief--this gang (and it is a gang) has been churning out rehashes of this material now for too long. Each book promises much but delivers not a heck of a lot that's new or even insightful; intriguing bits of information are mixed in with ambiguous information and wild speculation. The writers are just catering to a market, to be ungenerous I'd say they're doing it cynically or, at best, naively.
The problem is that at some point all this endless writing has to cease and some real archeology needs to take place--as in going in, digging, and finding. There are hints and clues aplenty but every fragment lacks context. There's a lot of human history to account for and simply taking every oddity and attributing it to "Atlantis" is absurd. Each strange artifact may have a unique history unrelated to that of any other artifacts. There are plenty of archaeologists working in established areas with mountains of hard evidence who are still trying to gain even a basic understanding of this or that ancient culture. These Atlantis and Pyramid types, playing with next-to-nothing, seem to have far too much figured out. That should make everyone suspicious.
This is an industry with a product and a market and I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that if you surveyed that market you'd find the majority of the consumers read mostly fluff sensationalist books like this and very few tackle straight-up publications on archeology and anthropology which, if this topic is worth considering (and I think it is) means most of the fans are operating in a near-complete knowledge vacuum--they have no way of actually evaluating the information presented here. Tragically, people who do have scientific backgrounds encounter books like this and are instantly turned off to the subject--bad writing, bad logic, wild speculations jump out at them. To them it's crap and anything potentially valid is, tragically, tossed out with the bathwater.
You'd almost think books of this sort exist simply to kill any professional interest in the subjects.
My best book on Ancient Mysteries.......2007-03-22
I can honestly say that I found this book gripping. The authors researched everything excellently and the way it was set out was perfect. It was wonderful how they managed to sort out all the many bits of research by hundreds of other authors and single out the most important relevant to Atlantis. I shall be reading this book again and again and plan to buy several of the other books mentioned in this one. Bravo to the authors!
Atlantis Blueprint.......2007-01-11
I find it very interresting, even though I must disagree with the author's idea of the exact location for Atlantis Continant. I also find it very interresting concerning the shift of the North Pole Magnetic field, and I believe that we are seeing the same result today of another shift instead of what many wants us to believe concerning the Globle Warming. I can see now why the North America continant was under Ice in the Ice age at one time, who knows where the next Ice age will appear? I guess that is my two cent opinion. Well, I am fifty Nine years old so I guess I can truthfully say I am over the age 13.
quite good, thought provoking, but incomplete.......2006-11-05
There is just far too much evidence (physical, theoretical, mathmatical and much of it plainly scientific by any standards) that very advanced cultures have existed in our distant past. And, although they probably did not have plastic cell phones stapled to their ears, drive SUVs with 21 inch mags, or felt the need to consume copious bowls of carmel machiatos, this does not mean that they did not achieve a certain mastery over communication, travel, nutrition, health, astronomy, and science in general. They were every bit as sophisticated as we think we might be. They were clearly on this planet, they widely travelled this planet, and they built many mega projects (or inspired other later peoples to do so) before they died off (or left the planet, or were genocided, or quickly assimilated with other more primitive cultures for some reason). This much has to be viewed as fact, although any mainstream historian, geologist, archaeologist, and / or anthropolgist is much too busy singing for their collective suppers to ever be honest with themselves or the rest of us. So, sadly, ironically, and even paradoxically, current mainstream academics only hinder humanity's quest for the truth about our origins, and for this reason, they are better left out of the discussion and their cries of psuedo-science and blasphomy ignored, at least for now, which is what makes this kind of book and others so important to read and ponder.
Having said that, the Atlantis story is complicated and many previous authors lack, in my opinion, a wide enough perspective to really tie it all together. That is my primary critique of this book. Cleary Antartica is a very important piece to the mystery as it was in a much different local in the not too distant past, but there are many other sites (the Bermuda Triangle area especially Bimini Island, and the Azores region, for examples) that deserve at least as much attention due to various discovered artifacts and phenomina. So, just where was Atlantis? What was it exactly (city, region, country, continent, religion, movement)? Which land masses sunk, arose, shifted, and at what times? What roles did interstellar comets, asteroids, or our obviously artificial moon play? These are questions that must be addressed within a more complete thesis in order to be more fruitful and to really explain the Atlantis saga satisfactorily. This book falls a little short by these criteria.
A Good Addition To The Atlantis Myth Cannon.......2005-08-25
If you're interested in Atlantis, lost civilizations, etc., then this book is definitely worth a read. I found the most interesting pieces to be the evidence of Antarctica as a potential site for Atlantis, complete with comparisons to ancient maps, the concept of the North Pole having moved twice before from the Yukon and Hudson Bay, and the subsequent mapping of ancient sites. No doubt the authors have uncovered some very interesting correlations here on locations of ancient sacred sites and their relationships to each other. These issues are something that "mainstream" science should definitely be addressing, but of course will refuse to and call this book "pseudo-science". Of course that's just any subject the mainstreamers don't want to address. Much of the rest of the book gets bogged down in details, and Wilson's third-person approach to writing about Flem-Ath is annoying and over done. Still and all, a good read with many interesting proposals put forth.

Book Description
Twenty-four centuries after Plato left us his intriguing remarks about Atlantis, Edgar Cayce began to talk, in an altered psychic state, about a lost civilization on Lemuria, Atlantis' Pacific precurser. Frank Joseph now takes a look, via archeology and other fields, at how modern discoveries are bolstering the idea that Atlantis and Lemuria really existed, the disturbing parallels between those civilizations and our own, and what those parallels may be telling us.

Fascinating!.......2006-04-14
I have been fascinated with ancient cultures (and possible ancient cultures) since I was a teenager - and I continue to be awed by the archeological findings & ideas presented about civilizations that may have been much more technologically advanced than we've given them credit for...
If you have similar interests, "Edgar Cayce's Atlantis & Lemuria" will be of great interest to you. It recounts Edgar Cayce's readings about the sunken lands of Atlantis & Lemuria, and shows how stories that closely match these readings have been handed down over millenia in various cultures - as well as how recent archeological finds have also closely matched the information given during Cayce's readings.
Plato wrote of Atlantis thousands of years ago, and even though we recognize him for being a person who consistently pursued the truth, his writings on Altantis is one of the few things our society discounts as fancy - doesn't that seem odd?
Although there is no proof yet - proving once and for all that Atlantis is a tale or truth - there does seem to be quite a lot of compelling evidence for the latter. I guess only time, and open-minded archeologists & scientists, will tell...
Overall, I found this book to be an interesting, thought-provoking read. If you are at all interested in the possible existence of Atlantis, I would highly recommend it.
Edgar Cayce's Atlantis and Lemuria.......2006-03-22
An excellent study on Edgar Cayce. The information regarding Atlantis and Lumuria is top rated. I highly recommend this book for anyone on a quest for knowledge.
Fills In The Missing Pieces Of The History Books.......2003-05-19
I feel this is a great book, especially for followers of Edgar Cayce. I don't understand why some other reviewers said that this book somehow corrects what Edgar Cayce said. To me it is in complete agreement with what Cayce said, even to the point of devoting an entire chapter to people who were identified in the Cayce readings as having lived in Atlantis. They had names like 'Aa-rr-ll-uu' and 'Sululon'.
Scientific evidence does not exist to prove things like the Atlanteans' crystal technology, their ability to travel through time and space, etc.. Since the author is a researcher he doesn't claim that scientific evidence exists where none does exist. But I don't see where he tries to disprove these fantastic but possibly true theories either.
This book discusses the Atlantis that Plato spoke of but by then Atlantis was much like the other races that existed around 1200 BC. This was a much different Atlantis than the one Cayce spoke of with its crystal technology, death rays, genetically engineered 'things', etc.. The islands of Atlantis sank over a period of thousands of years, not all at once if I understand the legends correctly.
I believe that proof of Atlantean technology does exist. It's been sitting on the Giza plateau for thousands of years. It's called 'the great pyramid'. In his book The Giza Power Plant Christopher Dunn proves that the great pyramid was a form of nuclear reactor. Dunn's book proves that the great pyramid was built by people who had god like powers and knowledge of time and space. It was Edgar Cayce in another incarnation as the high priest Ra Ta who built the great pyramid. The sacred geometry for building the great pyramid was given to Ra Ta by another god like being named Horus.
This idea is consistent with 'Edgar Cayce's Atlantis And Lemuria'. This book indicates that these god like beings from Atlantis and Lemuria became the mythical gods of later races such as the Incas and Myans. Those later races talk of 'gods' who came from the sea and taught them about new technologies, astronomy, etc.. Eventually most of this knowledge was lost as these civilizations de-volved to the point of like the Incas began the practice of human sacrifice.
There's a big part of the Atlantis story that's still enshrouded in mystery. All we have is a few statements from Cayce's psychic readings and a few archeological sites under water. You get glimpses of these mysterious topics when in the Cayce readings it refers to things like 'visitations of those from the outer spheres'. This would seem to imply that Atlantis was being visited by beings from other planets, other dimensions, etc..
This book offers a comparison between what happened to Atlantis and our modern world. Atlantis was destroyed by the greed of individuals. For them this was catastrophic because their greed could be transformed into energy by the terrible crystals.
The final paragraph of this book is:
"Everyone senses a crossroads just ahead. When we reach it, which example will we follow - Lemuria or Atlantis."
I would answer with a quote from a book called 'UFO Contact From Planet Iarga' which was supposedly communicated to someone by people from another planet called Iarga. The Iargans stated:
"The human race lives for the present since it really has no future."
The Iargans may mean that our human race doesn't have a long term future. Even if we last for another thousand years that's a relatively short time in relation to the universe.
I think most people would agree that many industries have a relatively short term view of using the earth's resources. Maybe somehow everyone knows that what the Iargans said is true.
The Iargans also said that sometimes when people see flying saucers those are our ancestors from Atlantis travelling through time to see us.
An original perspective on Edgar Cayce?.......2002-09-09
Frank Joseph's book is a fascinating well researched 'take' on Edgar Cayce's vision of Atlantis and Lemuria but it is also a personal and therefore ideosyncratic one.l have read a smattering of books about Edgar Cayce, though far from all there is dealing with him. l've seen him mentioned in many other books and articles. My particular obscession is Atlantis, mainly from the Platonic perspective, yet Lemuria and ancient cycles of catastrophe are all interelated to the subject.ln my research l've read several of Mr. Joseph's books and articles as well as the magazine he edits [ANCIENT AMERICAN]. So l'm familiar with both the author and his subject and Atlantis in general. From his past work l know that Joseph respects Cayces vision and personal integrity and that he is sympathetic to subjects of a mystical nature. But he is not a devotee of psychics and occultists where Atlantis is concerned, squarely choosing archaeology and geology over 'NEW AGE' mysticism. This approach may well not be acceptible to those already committed to Cayce because Joseph's chronology and scale differ markedly from those of the 'sleeping prophet'.Whereas Cayce put the final destruction of Atlantis slightly but indefinitely after 10,000 B.C., similar to Plato, Joseph sets it ca. 1200 B.C., 8800 years later. While Joseph sees the origins of Atlantis between 5000 and 3000 B.C. [ the Neolithc] Cayce places it beyond 50,000 years ago, maybe as long as 10,500,000 years ago! Cayce's vision involves the descent of spirit into matter, an 'event' largely beyond the methodology of science to prove or disprove. And yet if Atlantis existed it aught to be susceptible to physical investigation by geology, archaeology and other disciplines.Joseph believes it is. But the results of that quest do not often mesh with what Cayce said about the lost civilizations, as Joseph reads the evidence. This is bound to enfuriate those who take Cayce literaly.Right or wrong many of the late psychic's supporters treat his words like biblical creationists do with a face value interpretatation of the Bible.Science can be drawn on for support but only when it is in agreement or can be made to sound like it.Admittedly the subject of Atlantis is so taboo amongst conventional scholars that no historical interpretation of the story Plato told is acceptible Joseph's included. For them it is pure allegory.'Cayceites' would like to overturn much of orthodox science in favor of his worldview, at least a few being actively anti-intellectual.Thankfully, Cayce himself, while believing what he said never asked for this 'cultish' attitude. Niether have his direct eirs. They seem to have honestly tried to interpret and verify what he said without demanding a single 'party line'. Understandably they prefer to see him vindicated by science but have never pretended that this has been achieved or may ever be, entirely. l presume that it was with this open attitude that the A.R.E. commissioned Mr. Joseph to write this book as he has made no secret of his theories. They must've realized many of his ideas clashed with those of Cayces' vision of the lost continents yet were sympathetic to the latter. No conventional Academic or 'science journalist' would've touched the subject. They might have been intrigued by Josephs 20 years of research on the subject, often including on site investigations [ at Bimini for example].Perhaps they hoped for a fresh angle rather than a slavish paen to Cayces' infalliblity. What do l think myself? After 33 years of research into Atlantis l believe it existed and l agree with the author that it met it's final end 3200-3100 years ago. l'm less sure of where that last bastion of Atlantean civilization was.l also think, however, that one or more presently unknown acmes of civilization existed before the ' dawn of history', 5000-6000 years ago.Yet how old they ultimately were l've still to decide. As the Caribbean is one strong candidate for the location of such a 'culture-x' maybe Cayce was in part right, though l don't see it as Plato's Atlantis any more than Joseph seems to.I admit my own bias agaisnst accepting everything Cayce said literally. Some evidence appears to support him yet much does not.Far too many blindly believe because the Akashic records reported by Cayce 'could not be wrong'.But any close look at psychic depictions of Atlantis reveals as many devergences as agreements. Allegorical interpretations are only marginally less varied and historcal ones that eschew occult methods may be worse. But they have one great advantage. they admit to being theories, subject to change as new evidence becomes available. They do not claim to be the equivalent of divine revelation. Most psychic sources do. As noted before Cayce himself made no claims to be infallible. So why do so many of his followers ? lf you are interested in Cayce or lost continents but not already committed in your oppinions, buy this book. Those already cmplete beleivers in Cayces' vision doubtless will not appreciate what the author tried to accomplish unless they can agree to dissagree.Even for them it may be worthwhile to give Joseph a fair hearing before deciding for or against his ideas.
False premises.......2002-03-13
The main problem with this book is that it rests on the author's quirky insistence that Atlantis sank in 1200 BC. This does not agree with Edgar Cayce or Plato, or any of the scholars that have devoted years of study to uncovering historical information about Atlantis.
Joseph follows Plato's guidance and places Atlantis in the vicinity of the Atlantic Ridge, but there is no evidence that a large portion of the Atlantic Ridge was above the surface after 10,000 B.C. and a great deal of proof that some of it was above the surface before that time.
He ignores the Cayce Readings that distinctly name dates and changes some of the Readings to reflect his ideas. One must ignore most of what Joseph has written, based as it is on false premise.
For a careful compilation of information from Edgar Cayce, scholars and scientists about the land and people of Atlantis, I suggest "Atlantis: Insights From a Lost Civilization."

Book Description
A handbook of Atlantean information for general readers and specialists alike!
This is an invaluable, one-of-a-kind reference. Unlike most other books on the subject, The Atlantis Encyclopedia offers fewer theories and more facts. Although it does not set out to prove the sunken capital actually existed, The Atlantis Encyclopedia musters so much evidence on its behalf, even skeptics may conclude that there must be at least something factual behind such an enduring, indeed global legend. You'll learn:
* What was Atlantis? * Where was it located? * How long ago did it flourish? * How was it destroyed? * What became of its survivors? * Have any remains of Atlantis ever been found? * Will Atlantis ever be found? * Did Atlantis have any impact on America?

I really enjoyed this book and have used it as a reference item multiple times since I received it.
Amazing.......2005-10-11
Everything you want to look up is inside, along with things you didn't know you wanted to look up. No longer can they say prove Atlantis existed. Now they have to prove it didn't.
Offers less speculation and more emphasis on known facts.......2005-06-05
There are over two thousand books and articles published about Atlantis: so why the need for yet another? Unlike others on the topic, The Atlantis Encyclopedia offers less speculation and more emphasis on known facts gathered from geology, astronomy and other scientific disciplines. Ongoing research, international travel, and on-site explorations by the author gather the facts past and present, gathering plenty of evidence to point to the conclusion that Atlantis at least existed.
Comprehensive Reference Book On Atlantis.......2005-04-19
"Of the estimated 2,500 books and magazine articles published about the lost civilization, The Atlantis Encyclopedia is the only one of its kind. It is an attempt to bring together all the known details of this immense, continually fascinating subject, as well as provide succinct definitions and clear explanations." - From the Atlantis Encyclopedia
Most books about the lost continent of Atlantis are largely theoretical. However, The Atlantis Encyclopedia is more fact oriented, focusing on areas such as geology, oceanography, and astronomy, as well as the numerous folk traditions around the world which preserve memories of a great flood. The exhaustive information presented in this book is the result of more than two decades of continuous study and international travel by the author. From Morocco's underground shrine to Britain's Stonehenge, seldom seen solar monuments in Japan's remote forests to a cannibal temple in Polynesia, Frank Joseph takes novice readers, specialists, and skeptics alike on an intensive journey through Atlantean civilization.
The Atlantis Encyclopedia-written in an alphabetic, encyclopedic format-also offers comprehensive information about the Pacific counterpart to Atlantis: the lost kingdom of Mu, also known as Lemuria. A few of the topics covered in this book:
* Viracocha, the early Inca culture-hero who "rose" from the depths of Lake Titicaca
* Balor, the king of the giant Sea People in Irish folklore
* Island of Jewels, the paradisiacal realm in Hindu myth. At the center of this island hidden by misty akasha, was a magnificent palace where all wishes were granted.
* Enki, the sea-god of Sumerian myth who was a pre-flood culture-bearer from Atlantis
* Numinor, J.R.R. Tolkien's version of Atlantis in Lord of the Rings. Tolkien claimed to have been plagued since childhood by nightmares he believed were past-life memories of the Atlantean catastrophe-nightmares also shared by his son. (Numinor was also known as Ele'na and Westernesse).
* Ragnarok, the Norse "Twilight of the Gods"
* Pleiades, also known as Atlantides, means "Daughter of Atlas". Greek scholar Diodoras Siculus wrote that the Pleiades were not originally mythic figures, but real women who married Atlantean culture bearers. Long after their deaths, they were regarded as divine, and commemorated as a star cluster.
* Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who wrote about Atlantis in a 1928 serialization by The Saturday Evening Post called The Maracot Deep.
At 312-pages, this reference book also features 16 full-color photographs and images, as well as black-and-white photos interspersed throughout the text. Questions addressed in this book include:
* What was Atlantis?
* Where was it located?
* How long ago did it flourish?
* How was it destroyed?
* What became of its survivors?
* Have any remains of Atlantis ever been found?
* Will Atlantis ever be found?
* Did Atlantis have any impact on America?
The Atlantis Encyclopedia is a unique and valuable resource that doesn't aim to prove that the sunken capital actually existed. Yet, with all the evidence mustered on its behalf, even skeptics may conclude that there is SOMETHING factual behind this enduring, global legend.

Book Description
Explores scientific evidence from four cataclysmic events that led to the development of civilization and the downfall of Atlantis
• The sequel and companion volume to The Destruction of Atlantis
• Studies the connections between the world-conquering war the Atlanteans launched and the quartet of natural catastrophes that ravaged the earth more than 5,000 years ago
• Demonstrates that the Atlanteans ran an imperial copper trade empire that stretched from North America to Asia Minor
Archaeologists have long puzzled over the evidence suggesting highly sophisticated copper mining activities in the area of the Great Lakes some 5,000 years ago. Menomonie Indian tradition speaks of fair skinned mariners who had come in the past to “dig out the shiny bones” of the Earth Mother. Plato, meanwhile, recorded that Atlanteans provided an exceptionally high grade of copper that was no longer available in his time. In this sequel to The Destruction of Atlantis, Frank Joseph argues that the Menomonie Indians’ mariners were Atlanteans and that the destruction of Atlantis by war and natural catastrophe brought about the end of Bronze Age civilization. Furthermore, Atlantis’s survivors dispersed to all sides of their former island empire into Western Europe, the Near East, and North and South America.
In Survivors of Atlantis Frank Joseph provides an in-depth study of the Atlantean war and the intimate connections it had with the last of four great cosmic catastrophes generated by the cyclical return of a comet and its debris. This quartet of natural disasters was followed by mass migrations recorded in the histories of such diverse peoples as the Incas of Peru, the Celtic Irish, the Classical Greeks, and the Aztecs of Mexico. Where the archaeology, mythology, astronomy, and geology of these cultures coincide, a common thread is exposed: Atlantis. Joseph shows that the fate of the Atlantean empire is the story of early civilization and reveals Atlantis to be a credible part of the world’s history.

Ties it Together.......2006-11-08
This book ties together a few of the missing links in history. A great discussion of what was happening around the world in different cultures at the same time periods. Then the author links major cataclysmic events that coincided with changes in major world cultures. Unique, one of a kind book. Different perspective than other Atlantis books on the market.
fascinating.......2005-05-14
Although I am far from an expert, I found this book to be highly readable, easy to understand, and absolutely fascinating. This book fills in a huge gap left in human history, and ties up so many loose ends. I could not put this book down until the very end, and afterwords, it still left me wondering about how much our own society does not understand, how our species seems to suffer from a collective amnesia about its own past, and how much further we have to go. It is almost if humanity suffers from some post-traumatic stress syndrome, and I almost felt a sense of relief in a way after reading this.
I find it amazing how one culture could have such a profound impact on the every culture currently in existence, and disappear, literally, without a trace. It seems every culture, from Asia to America has been impacted by the Atlanteans in one form or another, and yet, no one can seem to recall their common heritage. And it seems no one has been able to tie all the threads together, until now.
Although I am sure the mere mention of the word "Atlantis" causes many to cringe, I feel it is essential, for the survival of our own culture and world that we seek to remember our own past and common heritage, lest we suffer the same end as the ill-fated Atlanteans. We cannot fully evolve in our own culture until we remember the whole of it.
Atlantis and Bronze Age Catastrophes.......2005-01-15
This book is a sequel or preequal to Joseph's previous work, THE DESTRUCTION OF ATLANTIS. While it's possible to enjoy it on it's own Joseph jumps right in with the new material rather than expending space rehashing his earlier book. So, a novice to the subject might feel a little lost.A great deal of the first book went into his theory that Atlantis was a Bronze Age civilization, 3200-5500 years old, approximately, rather than Plato's literal figures which put the destruction of Atlantis 10,500-11,600 years ago. Joseph is convinced that the final demise of Atlantis occurred ca.1200 B.C. when the Late Bronze age cultures of the Aegean and Near East collapsed, which was followed by an extended dark age. There is evidence of earthquakes, possible tsunamis, inexplicably severe fires and climatic deterioration. But similar evidence clusters around the transitions from the Middle to Late Bronze ages[ca.1750-1550 B.C.] and the Early to Middle Bronze Ages [ca.2350-2050 B.C.].Finally, there was such a period ca.3500-3100 B.C., at the beginning of recorded history. These events could represent Plato's four great catastrophes, though the philosopher put Atlantis demise prior to the first not the last of them. The reasons why Joseph reverses that sequence and reduces the dates overall are dealt with in the previous book.He makes a valiant attempt to correllate the evidence of these catastrophes with how they could have affected his proposed version of Atantis, and how as the title indicates their survivors impacted upon known contemporary cultures. He gives a convincing sketch of each event but one must be willing to accept his overall premise about when and where Atlantis existed first. Those seeking a paleolithic supercivilization and submerged continent sized landmasses will not find them here. This is speculative archaeology and geology not the revealed 'wisdom' of psychics or channelers. He collects quite an assemblage of ancient traditions from around the globe and throughout history in an attempt to connect the dots in the Atlantis story. Those fond of mythological investigations may love it as I did.But if that is not your taste it could prove slow going.I appreciated the effort to tie in the rise of Atlantis to known history as well as it's fall.Others might take exception to the idea, believing that Atlantis preceeds or transcends 'mere' history.Since the whole subject can be viewed in so many different ways there is no way to please everybody. For those willing to consider that Plato's account derived from people, places and events of the historical period Frank Joseph has provided a marvelous compendium of how Atlantis may have fitted into the jigsaw puzzle of antiquity. To such an open minded reader I highly recommend the book.Even for those convinced that Atlantis sank 11,500 years ago, Joseph's material could be applicable to the three catastrophes Plato said had occurred since then, a subject rarely dealt with in this field.
Way to Go, Frank Joe!.......2004-08-29
The five stars are for the concept alone.
Since the delightfully goofy-titled "Atlantis in Wisconsin" it was clear that Joseph had a masterpiece in him and it's safe to say this is it.
Clearly presenting the information and deftly interpreting it, Joseph finally brings real history and science to a subject wrongly confined to the occult and speculative. Some of us have hiked and explored the copper country of Michigan and know very well history touched it -- but Joseph fills in the details and matches the evidence of archaeology with the records of history. In so doing, he begins our common history.
And you're in for loads of surprises if you think "Michigan" and "Wisconsin" and "Ontario" are sorely out of place when discussing the Bronze Age world of Egypt and Myceneae and Minoan Crete. Let Frank Joseph be your guide to the truth of the past and you'll see the world with new eyes.
Not a moment too soon, young people in North America can come to the realization that our past, too, stretches into antiquity. Our past, too, contains nobility and courage and adventure. This connection with our ancient roots is essential for rediscovering a modern love for the land that we must engender for our own rise to a "Great Civilization".
There's much more in Frank Joseph's book. His main gift is the ability to wake up the sense of wonder in his readers. A rare gift indeed and one greatly needed.

The mysterious civilizations of Lemuria and Atlantis become reality as Shirley Andrews, the author of Atlantis: Insights From a Lost Civilization combines details from scholars, scientists and the respected psychic Edgar Cayce. Her sober portrayal of disturbing parallels between the spiritual decay of Atlantis and our modern world, and her reasonable explanations for the vivid dreams and past life memories recounted by numerous people about life on the lost lands enhance this fascinating book.

It's alright........2007-10-07
I love getting information about different theories on ancient civilizations, and this book does provide some theories and gives good basic information. It's not a book you will walk away from and think was well written. Although it does give much information, it does not give a lot of supporting evidence, rather it sounds like pieces of other peoples materials sewn into a book printed under Ms. Andrews' name. One thing she does well is cite information taken from other resources. All in all Ms. Andrews' book is a good read if you are looking for some basic knowledge and would like a whole lot more questions after reading than what you went had going in. For better information try one of her cited sources!
How to pay double for one book.......2007-06-08
Your company mailed two separate copies of the same book on the same day. One came with another book to save the shipping charges, the second copy came solo along with another bill for $11.01 plus $3.99 for shipping. I sent the book back following your instructions and received a credit for only $5.52. I figure you guys still owe me $10.00. I will not be using Amazon until this is settled. I sent an e-mail to your help department with no response. My response is no more business for Amazon.
Sincerely,
Douglas R. Leino
superficial and written by a freak.......2006-12-10
completely crazy book, not based on facts but on accounts from a network of freaks who had dreams...
The topic could have been interesting, but this is badly written, no reliable source of information is mentioned, not worth reading, yet ever buying. I trashed mine.
Eye opener........2006-07-23
Okay I seem to be the only person giving the book 4 stars.
I'll have to admit I never really knew about how much evidence still exists today of Atlantis. I've just heard stories of the place over and over again, thinking it is some sort of myth. I think the author did a good job on presenting the evidences of still alive. She discusses the ancient ruins found underwater in various places in the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean i believe. And also the underground tunnels that exist in South America. These places are pretty non-existant in the media of our current world today. It is obvious a lot of information is censored to obscure our past.
The author talks a lot about life in Lemuria and Atlantis. Topics include crystals, energy, technology, and a whole lot more. Even the involvement of extraterrestials were briefly mentioned. I believe pretty much most books based on "truth" share a lot of similars ideas that converge, and this is one of them.
One of the key points of the story is that Andrews tells us our society today will meet the same fate as our past civilisations if we don't care for our environment. We aren't handling our technology the way we should and it is going to eventually destroy the planet.
Like I said, 4 stars, because there were some points were I thought needed to be more interesting and readable. At times I really got bored, and just skimmed through. However, the majority was still pretty good.
Very Mysterious.......2005-06-26
This is a great book not only for what it contains but also the references to many other books for those Atlantologists who want to do further research.
The info in consistent with the Edgar Cayce material and Cayce is referenced in many places.
It contains many references to past life memories. The author herself as well as another reviewer who is discussed in the book had lived on Atlantis and were there when it sank for the final time I think.
I picture Atlantis as a paradise with beautiful women with flowing blond hair dressed in beautuful robes standing around the amazing crystal in the temple. Somebody should make a movie about this.
As I read this book I got a feeling that I may have been the philosopher Plato in a past life. However I'm not sure about this.
Like Plato I'm fascinated with this subject. Also Plato did something that I think was very important. He preserved the info about Atlantis by travelling to the library at Alexandria. This library was tragically later burned.
I don't necessarily agree that the visions of Ezekiel in the bible were flying saucers. I have witnessed similar phenomenon.
I once saw three miniature orange suns hovering above the forest. These suns starting moving together as a beautiful dome of light appeared above them that contained all the colors of the spectrum. Lightning flashing. Smoke on the ground. This was like a gigantic living engine.
It seemed like the trees should have caught on fire but they didn't.
Atlantis was destroyed as a result of sorcery and delving into the black arts. This is where the black arts originated.
One guy in the book had been an evil magician with hypnotic eyes and he used his occult powers to hypnotize women. He says he was being directed by evil guides in the spirit world.
The section on the Yucatan indicates that the priests would sometimes get an erection when they were practicing the mystical arts. Apparently this used to happen quite frequently.
There's still many pieces missing from this puzzle about Atlantis. There's some parts I think that are still not understood too well right now. Actually I would say most of it is still shrouded in mystery. We only have the basic information right now.

Ancient Wisdom Revealed.......2007-06-27
After attending Maurice Cotterell's spell-binding lecture on the Mayans, I had to read his books. Once I began reading the Mayan Prophecy I had it read within 24 hours. Cotterell and Adrian Gilbert's research uncovered historical revelations about the Mayan ruins. Cottrell's interpretation of the Lid of Palenque reveals the genuis of the Mayans to unimaginable heights. It's an extraordinary journey reading about the Mayan' cities and viewing the rich photographs and powerful Mayan art in this book. I've read many great author's books on the Mayan's, however, Cotterells' research and interpretation disclosed a deeper understanding about the Mayan civilization and their legacy.
