1 out of 5 stars Not woth the $.......2007-05-22

The author of this book is a paranoid man with delusions of grandeur. Their books seem to spend more time talking about how amazing he is (making such claims as being able to levitate and summon ufo's on a whim) and doesn't actually give any real evidence. You are better off looking for interesting evidence with a google search, this book is not worth the money.

There is truth here which must be heard so all peoples will benefit.

1 out of 5 stars I have been to a Greer "training".......2007-05-05

Like this book, the training was full of fantasy and imagination. Unlike this book, it was not full of extra-terrestial experiences. Rather, for me, the training was full of social-psychological phenomena. Some would call it "group think."

Greer, a dominating personality fascinated as much with himself, his thoughts and imagination as he is with ETs, seems to have a core group of followers, a majority of whom are single women. They are his resident "experts" at these trainings and report seeing what Greer suggests they will see. (We call it "priming" the crowd.) The group dynamics are incredible! Some of these women observe with their eyes shut or tightly "squinting" and report what they have seen as reality -- always ETs or avatars, of course. Greer approves and calls them experienced observers. Others, who see nothing, are told to stick with it and as they believe and practice, they, too will see. (Sort of like, if you read enough, believe enough, you will see Jesus.)

If you like science fantasy, this book could be entertaining though frustrating because of the remarkably juvenile, repetitious writing style. If you want facts, go elsewhere.

Thank you for this book and all the enthusiasm and love you put into it. Thank you for opening my eyes and taking my fears away and doing the same for lots of others. Thank you for all your brave hard work. Every bit of your effort is opening doors to great miracles, waiting for too long to happen.
With admiration, Gabriela.

5 out of 5 stars Review of "Exterrestrial Contact" by Steven Greer, M.D........2007-02-18

Let's start with the bottom line: This book should be taken very seriously.
Preamble: There are certain philosophical and moral foundations for investigations of reality, whether conventional or "far out." 1. An investigation should attempt to gather all of the facts that are pertinent to the subject. Leaving out essential facts can lead to erroneous conclusions. 2. The anlaysis of facts and evidence should be as thorough, complete, and valid as humanly possible. 3. The investigators should hold to an attitude of perfect impartiality; any bias is scientifically immoral. Even more immoral is deliberate concealment and lying to support a hidden agenda. 4. Investigators must often exhibit considerable courage to face and overcome opposition from those who oppose new facts, concepts, and conclusions.
How does Dr. Greer's investigation stack up with these principles? 1. The investigation has been extremely thorough, with an enormous body of evidence gathered. 2. The analysis of this evidence seems to be carefully done and valid. 3. No bias is evident in the investigator. In constrast, Dr. Greer has uncovered not only bias, but deliberate obstruction of the truth among many of the individuals and agencies investigated. 4. Dr.Greer has displayed a great deal of courage in confronting opposition to his totally justified right to investigate an important phenomenon.
In my opinion, Dr. Greer has reached a correct conclusion that there exists a "shadow government" that is more powerful than the visible one, and which has the money and resources to control information and suppress new technology in support of its own goals.

Book Description

A clinical psychiatrist explores the effects of DMT, one of the most powerful psychedelics known.

• A behind-the-scenes look at the cutting edge of psychedelic research.

• Provides a unique scientific explanation for the phenomenon of alien abduction experiences.

From 1990 to 1995 Dr. Rick Strassman conducted U.S. Government-approved and funded clinical research at the University of New Mexico in which he injected sixty volunteers with DMT, one of the most powerful psychedelics known. His detailed account of those sessions is an extraordinarily riveting inquiry into the nature of the human mind and the therapeutic potential of psychedelics. DMT, a plant-derived chemical found in the psychedelic Amazon brew, ayahuasca, is also manufactured by the human brain. In Strassman's volunteers, it consistently produced near-death and mystical experiences. Many reported convincing encounters with intelligent nonhuman presences, aliens, angels, and spirits. Nearly all felt that the sessions were among the most profound experiences of their lives.

Strassman's research connects DMT with the pineal gland, considered by Hindus to be the site of the seventh chakra and by Rene Descartes to be the seat of the soul. DMT: The Spirit Molecule makes the bold case that DMT, naturally released by the pineal gland, facilitates the soul's movement in and out of the body and is an integral part of the birth and death experiences, as well as the highest states of meditation and even sexual transcendence. Strassman also believes that "alien abduction experiences" are brought on by accidental releases of DMT. If used wisely, DMT could trigger a period of remarkable progress in the scientific exploration of the most mystical regions of the human mind and soul.

5 out of 5 stars Revolutionary read!.......2007-08-30

A must for anyone who is interested in mystical experiences and the human mind and spirit.

5 out of 5 stars I strongly recommend this book.......2007-08-23

I liked the fact the author writes about the whole experience - positive and negative parts. It is important to hear about all of the experiences not only from the jovial side of it. Eventhough he conducted the experiment, he manages to stay objective in his writing.
The experiences sound amazing. Unfortunately not everybody is able to accept certain truths, this is why he carefully chose the participants. It's a shame he stopped his researches in that direction, eventhough I perfectly understand him. I would be discouraged faster than him.

5 out of 5 stars 20th Century Schizoid Man..........2007-08-21

Dr Strassman has indeed taken a giant step forward for mankind with his research. The psychedelic experience seems at once necessary and enlightening for the human race. Perhaps if everyone could experience an outer dimensional "trip" such as described in this book, we could put an end to the modern ethos of hatred and violence that surrounds us.
Researchers as opened minded as this are rare and deserve our support. If you are at all interested in the exploration of inner space, buy Dr Strassman's book - it's a modern day equivalent to the moon landing (if it ever really happened...)

5 out of 5 stars The study of DMT must continue.......2007-07-22

The fact of the matter is, in the troubling world we find ourselves in - good news is very hard to come by. It is research such as this that becomes the candle in the dark, the light at the end of the dark tunnel we all traverse.
Rick Strassman's research is not only revolutionary, but it shows that science, unequivocally, must never leave spirituality at the front door - since spirituality may be far more scientific than we previously had thought. Without a doubt in my mind, this book has proven such a thing.

Yet, there are still many more questions that need to be answered. The ultimate being - are these experiences, creatures and invisible landscapes REAL? Are they more real than "channel normal"? The exciting thing about these questions is that they may be answered in our lifetime, IF the study of DMT is continued.

From what I understand, Rick Strassman's website speaks of a DMT Documentary that is currently in the making. I sincerely hope that this Documentary, upon release, arouses the curiosity of mainstream science and the general population.

Do I recommend this book? The answer is 100% YES. If you are not aware of the information within this book, you are intellectually naked.

With ever-increasing scientific knowledge, this generation as we know it could very well be catching up to what the mystics have been saying for aeons.

5 out of 5 stars Increadible Read.......2007-07-14

This book is incredible. IT sheds light on research done on psychedelics and goes into the history of psychedelic research. Very Interesting. A lot of interesting and mind expanding ideas and theories within.

5 out of 5 stars Fascinating account of abduction.......2007-10-03

This was a very interesting read. Sparks gives many details of his encounters with ETs including grays and reptilians. He was forced to learn some kind of language by these ETs who also claimed they own us!
He also had encounters with military people who were working with grays and using some kind of teleportation device on him.
Linda M. Howe and John Mack apparently found him to be credible. I read this book with a group and a skeptical member of the group was shocked to read an account that matched their own experience! Very interesting!

5 out of 5 stars keepers:an alien message for the human race.......2007-08-28

Wonderful, best recolection of an alien encounter ever. Makes you stop and think, eyes wide open, and it could happen to anybody.

3 out of 5 stars Think about it..........2007-08-07

I am really so very tired of all the ignorant people who constantly ask: "If there are UFO's, why don't they show themselves in some irrefutable way, like hang out over the White House for a day?"

Firstly, can you imagine the scene? Most people are asleep and unenlightened. A UFO hanging over the White House would certainly seem threatening and would be completely and utterly life changing. Our ideas of who we are would change in an instant, especially for those whose ideas of life are founded in religion. This planet is not ready for such an event.

If there are aliens, obviously they've evolved in such a way that war and hatred are no longer a predominant focus in their lives. If they hadn't learned to get along, they would have destroyed themselves long ago. They are technoligically and spiritually evolved and obviously would not want to force themselves on a planet that is still in kindergarten in the Universe. We would revere them as Gods, and again, our planet is not ready for such an event.

For gosh sakes. The Universe is made up of, literally, MILLIONS of galaxies, like our own Milky Way. Are you really willing to declare that life on other planets could not have possibly evolved much in the way our planet has evolved? Isn't that a silly assumption? Are you the sort of person who would have jailed Galileo for stating that the earth is not the center of our galaxy? Or would you have laughed when it was said the earth was not flat? Stop driving into your garage after work and popping a beer! Learn to think! Go outside of your own comfort zone and imagine a reality different than the one you've created---one devoid of logic.

You think that a grand cover up could not have happened? Please! The Government would rather shrivel up and die than admit they've lied to us for more than fifty years about UFO's. Perfectly sane and logical people have attested to seeing them, including astranout Edgar Mitchell, the former Governor of Arizona, and emergency room doctor Steven Greer. In fact, the last person alive involved in the Roswell incident signed an affadavit right before he died attesting to the truth about Roswell! It was released last week. Heck, even Jimmy Carter says he saw a UFO. These people aren't crazy---just honest.

Hmmmm...what does the Government have to lose? Trillions of dollars in block operation money, their shirts, their integrity, their power...and last but not least----their oil! If aliens are visiting us, obviously they have found a better way to run engines than using oil. Imagine the oil magnates giving up their power and profits to entertain propulsion technology-----a use of natural laws to propel transportation systems, specifically crafts. You think they'd just roll over and let it happen? Cover ups happen by those who have the most to lose, especially the rich and powerful.

Think about alien visitation as a way for other planetary species to slowly indoctrinate us to their existence. They're letting us know that they are here without imposing their way of life on us. Clever and intelligent, I think. Heck, they're facing a government that won't even admit their existence. They know that. They get it.

Abductions? Maybe. They may be overly curious. I don't blame them, really. We're an interesting species... still murdering eachother. letting eachother starve, but capable of great compassion and good works.
I'd be really curious about our species, too. Intersting sort we are.

Most people want irrefutable proof. If an astonaut and a Governor don't do it for you, visit this site (www.disclsoureproject.org) where dozens of high placed officials testified in front of the press that yes, ufo's exist. Guess what? The press didn't cover it very well...hmmm...wonder why. And here's a morning jolt along with your Starbucks coffee---the video of these people testifying are on line. All you have to do is look.

Brazil just initiated their own UFO Investigation council. Mexico is not shy about reporting them and other countries have opened up their books on UFO'S. Sorry your country stinks in this manner, but then think of JFK. There has always been a lot of secrets in this country. Face up.

Oh yes, America the beautiful, home of the brave, truth, yadda, yadda, yadda. You wouldn't believe what you don't know here, but hey, they keep you so busy paying bills, outrageous interest rates and working your butts off most of your life, you don't have time to think about important things like oil, aliens and war. They like it that way. They prefer us to be a bunch of sheep, but hey, keep telling yourself how free you are.

Life on other planets?

It very well may be. Einstein and friends all believed it, but who was he? Oh, probably the most intelligent man to ever walk the earth, but don't take his word for it. You must know better.

This book is interesting, but there's a lot of disinformation about the UFO experience. Personally, I don't believe in all this scary UFO crap---it seems to me another way to discredit this burgeoning reality. I'm skeptical of untoward and war-like aliens and if you don't believe me, read above.

Ask twenty of your friends if they've ever seen a UFO and then do some reading and do some logical thinking..... hmmmmm..... big universe, huh? other planets, too. Why wouldn't there be other life forms? Oh, yes, I know...the world is flat....and oh yes, we are the center of the universe. Poor logic.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding account of pure terror.......2007-06-27

This man has gone through a transition that literally thousands of other are doing RIGHT now all over the world. Our Government KNOWS what aliens are doing to AMERICANS and does absolutely NOTHING to stop it. This is REAL people....wake UP HOLD our government accountable!

5 out of 5 stars excellent, but stick to the truth.......2007-06-21

I found this book one of the best alien abduction accounts I've ever read, although I'm afraid Mr.Sparks added a little of his own personal fantasy to it.I'm quite skeptical about the people from the future carrying wrong currencies and so on,this seems a little too far-fetched for me.

Book Description

In his groundbreaking follow-up to the best-selling Abduction, Pulitzer Prize-winner John E. Mack, M.D., powerfully demonstrates how the alien abduction phenomenon calls for a revolutionary new way of examining the nature of reality and our place in the cosmos.
Harvard professor John E. Mack stunned the world when he first published in Abduction the astonishing results of his extensive research involving clients who reported they had had encounters with alien life-forms. In Passport to the Cosmos, Mack, who has done additional research with abductees in the United States and around the world, provocatively asserts that this phenomenon is part of a new era in human consciousness, a time in which we must be willing to embrace the idea that alien visitation is real on some level.

For Mack, the alien abduction phenomenon is nothing short of a cosmic wake-up call to humans that we do indeed live in a world filled with spirits and beings who can cross the barrier we have thrown up between the material and immaterial worlds. Drawing on the rich tradition of non-Western and indigenous cultures, which more readily accept that we live in a multidimensional universe, Mack persuasively shows that by broadening our definition of "what is real," we can begin to explore a phenomenon that has deep and lasting implications for humanity.

By sharing the vivid and dramatic encounters of experiencers, Mack illuminates a phenomenon that has shattered the worldviews of the people who have experienced it. Time and time again, experiencers from all cultures say their lives have been radically altered by their encounters with aliens in ways that are both traumatic and transformative. This transformation seems to be an intrinsic part of the alien abduction phenomenon, which is marked by a variety of elements that go beyond the physical manifestation of alien visitation.
In Passport to the Cosmos, John Mack further solidifies his reputation as a brave pioneer on the forefront of the science of human experience, an authoritative voice that will take us into the twenty-first century.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A mind expanding book-Top notch!.......2006-05-02

Dr. Mack is brilliant in this book! He is most interested in how a person's life changes as a result of their anomolous experiences, mainly encounters with other worldly beings. These "experiencers" seem to have a jump start on the rest of us mortals, in terms of understanding the vastness of which we come from, and which we will return. An excellent book for anyone seeking to get closer to the TRUTH.

3 out of 5 stars Worthwhile read, but flawed conclusions........2005-06-26

Mack's done an overall good job pretaining to the UFO/abduction phenomena. I take exception however to his take home message that most if not all of the abduction experience is actually directly related to alien abduction and moreover that the aliens are benevolent and have our best interests at heart.

I do think that aliens are visiting the earth. I base this on the fact that many people report the same similiar experiences. What adds credence to this, is that I know of people who've recounted these kinds of stories having happened to them or love ones as early as the early 60's--long before the trite description of the "Greys" became so popularized.

Having heard these stories and the clearly advanced technology that these aliens possess, it is clear that they are not benevolent. Some are clearly and undeniably sinister. It even looks as if some are simply playing with us like fodder for entertainment. The movies the Mothman Prophecies and the movie Forgotten have taken a departure of the good-feel ET alien movie message and played on the notion that we're essentially lab rats in comparison to these alien intelligences.

Personally, if ET came knocking on my door, I'd slap his silly duff on an autopsy table and find out what makes him/her/it tick and find a way to kill them off en masse. I hope our government has such a method or is rapidly working toward developing such a means.

5 out of 5 stars Enemies? Or Friends?.......2004-06-02

These many reviews are interesting. It seems that the negative reviewers are offended at the idea - the very idea! - that aliens might actually be helping humanity. No, such reviewers seem more comfortable with the idea that aliens are out to destroy humanity, no doubt about it.

To me, these reviews offer a window into the psychology of each reviewer: Those who feel that the unknown MUST be our enemy, and those who feel that the unknown CAN be our friend.

For those of the former, THE THREAT is obviously the book for you. For those of the latter, PASSPORT will offer elucidation and comfort.

It's been suggested that we each make our own reality...

1 out of 5 stars Shamanism vs. The Flying Saucers.......2003-05-20

This follows a disturbing phenomenon in anomalous research of whatever ilk, whenever empiricial answers do not hold adequate allure- break out the indigenous shaman routine to cast "illumination" on the discussion. The new agers probably "understand" the explainations provided from 3rd world wise men & women of crop circles, abuctions, and other intrusions into the lives of certain fantasy prone individuals. But I am left wondering: "what the hell are they talking about?" Dr. Mack's first book still had enough healthy scepticism to make for solid reading. This book makes me want to cheer the academic committee's attempt to reel Dr. Mack back into the fold. With this work, John E. has wandered too far into make-believe-land to have much credibility. Jacques Vallee made a more reasonable sojourn into the folklore/UFO connection some years ago with his "Passport to Magonia". This "Passport to the Cosmos" has been stamped invalid.

1 out of 5 stars I wish it were true.......2002-12-31

This is a book on abductions with the same "new-ageish" and prophetic tone as communion. The author here believes the aliens are "spiritual beings" or "gods" from a different dimension. The 'experiencers' are specially chosen people to learn and be enlightened. They are here, he says to help us, and to teach us important messages. In it, he talks with native peoples and shamans of the world to try to find out the meaning of the abduction phenomenon.

I agree with the author that the abduction phenomenon is real and that it isn't made up or imagined. However, he seems to automatically assume
that the alien beings are kindly, benevolent, interdimensional messengers. He doesn't have much evidence to back up his theory and his view ot the aliens doesn't seem to explain the traumatic and humiliating procedures that abductees experience. It also doesn't explain their secrecy. If they are benevolent and want to give us important messages, why do they make it so that the abductee can't remember the experience. There are so many unanswered questions that his view brings up, and it ultimately doesn't hold much water. He seems to have been influenced greatly by the 'contactees' of the 50's and the new age movement. Mack is a great psychiatrist but unfortunately is more interested in helping his abductee/patients and in helping them cope with the abductions than he is at getting to the bottom of the whole phenomenon.

If you want to look at the facts and evidence logically and rationally, get the book "The Threat" by David Jacobs (It actually explains the whole abduction phenomenon, is based on actual evidence, and makes much more sense) or perhaps the book "UFOs and abductions: challenging the borders of knowledge". If you want to hear about a new age/spiritual/religious-oriented explanation based on wishful thinking and interviews with native shamans that doesn't make very much sense, but that makes you feel good about the whole thing, get this book.

Book Description

Convincing evidence that the Egyptian, Sumerian, and Dogon civilizations were founded by aliens from the Sirius star system who are now ready to return

• Updated with 140 pages of new scientific evidence that solidifies the hypothesis that the KGB, CIA, and NASA attempted to suppress

• An awe-inspiring work of research that calls for a profound reappraisal of our role in the universe

• Over 10,000 copies sold in its first two months of release in Britain

Publication of The Sirius Mystery in 1976 set the world abuzz with talk of an extraterrestrial origin to human civilization and triggered a 15-year persecution campaign against Robert Temple by the KGB, CIA, NASA, and other government agencies. Undaunted, however, Temple is back, with 140 pages of new scientific evidence that makes his hypothesis more compelling than ever.

Many authors have speculated on the subject of extraterrestrial contact, but never before has such detailed evidence been presented. Temple applies his in-depth knowledge of ancient history, mythology, Pythagorean physics, chaos theory, and Greek, to a close examination of the measurements of the Great Pyramid of Giza, which was built to align directly with the star Sirius. He concludes that the alien civilization of Sirius and our own civilization are part of the same harmonic system, and are destined to function and resonate together. His findings warrant a profound reappraisal of our role in the universe.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Exciting key to Mankind's ancestry, if a little long-winded.......2007-05-21

The facts which Robert Temple analyzes are amazing and should be known to all - the survival of correct astronomical information in a primitive tribe that concerns bodies invisible to the naked eye deserves analysis. Be warned though that where the author tries to connect the Dogon tribe's ancestry with the Sumerians and Egyptians it is not light reading. To give just a taste of this to warn off the unwary buyer, I quote a typical passage: '...Aarti is a common name of both Isis and Nephthys, and Nephthys is more closely connected with the companion of Sirius. The appellation Aruru is thus closer to Sirius B, who is also represented by Enkidu, than another name for the goddess Sirius which was not specifically shared with Nephthys, the dark companion. This word also means 'uraei' and we have just seen that the other word for the 'uraei' is related to the horizon of Sirius B's orbit, as well as also being shared with Isis and Nephthys - obviously shared because the orbit described by one is described around the other, and as we have seen several times, the orbit was common to them both and divided their respective precincts...etc'. Yes, it's so obvious isn't it? The chapter the passage is taken from is around 50 pages long, and by the end of the Appendices, some of which can be left unread, you'll have covered 600 pages. It's not all heavy-going, other parts can be both fascinating and humorous, even if in the foreword he wants us to believe that the CIA and Nasa are on his back, after mentioning elsewhere the paranoia of some writers! As can be imagined, there is a lot of speculation and linguistic analysis in this book, some reasonable, some just too tenuous to be believable in my opinion. My tip to others so as not to waste as much time as I did: buy it and read the interesting parts, and don't be afraid to start skipping pages when you get bogged down in the analysis.

1 out of 5 stars Unconvincing.......2007-05-06

Except for a few tantalizing facts here and there, the author's arguments are far-fetched, unconvincing, and terribly long-winded. He also includes long sections of personal experiences and complaints about his treatment by others that contribute absolutely nothing to advancing his hypothesis and even sound gossipy and a bit paranoid. Reading this book was something like being stuck sitting next to some guy who won't shut up on a 15-hour flight to Timbuctu. I can't recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars The Sirius Mystery.......2007-03-19

Whatever this man researches, I want to read. I have another book by him, which is how I found out about this one. Jammed with information. A scholarly aspect. Loads of fun for me.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome.......2007-02-14

Very well written and researched. Robert Temple has hit some very good arguments. I would love to read a follow-up on the subject.

2 out of 5 stars The dots don't connect..........2007-01-27

The Dogon believed in the existence of Sirius B before it was visible to the naked eye and before their belief was confirmed by modern science. This is an astonishing factoid, but one factoid does not a book make.
Temple interprets this central anachronism as proof that aliens from Sirius contacted early civilizations, but he is just not able to add enough evidence to it to prove up his thesis. The punchline of the book is indeed pretty weird but, after that weird morsel is digested, all that remains is a meandering tour of ancient history and mythology that makes for pretty ponderous reading. Temple tries to identify continuities in these sources that would point to a single archaic "ur"-religion, shared by all ancient cultures and recounting the visitation of the earth by the aliens. To my mind, he does not succeed. I am a sucker for a good yarn, but the "coincidences" that Temple finds in these sources are lost on me. While the reader may follow him on the vague similarity between myth x and myth y, and also between myth y and myth z, the conceptual "drift" between myths x and z undermines any unified pattern.

I guess I had unusually high expectations for this book, since Temple has an unusually good reputation for his "no-nonsense" approach to extremely sensational topics. It is frequently pointed out that he is a fellow of the Royal Society, and he has apparently been associated professionally with some pretty heavyweight scholars. Indeed, he sometimes sounds like a paragon of scientific good sense. He rejects any dogmatic interpretation of his ideas and he is surprisingly eager to seek out grounds for the falsification of his own theories.

But there are warning signs. Temple's insistence that he has been persecuted by the CIA for his work on this topic is troubling. I have no doubt that the CIA does some seriously weird (and stupid) stuff, but it just doesn't feel right.

Less fair of me, perhaps, is to suspect a bit of resume-padding when Temple discusses his friendship with the esteemed Sinologist Joseph Needham. Temple recounts how he became close with Needham toward the end of his life, popularizing his work for American and British laypeople. Temple tells us that Needham's staff did not approve of the friendship, and inexplicably sought to undermine it. A cynical jerk like myself could infer from this that these staffpeople percieved that their mentor, in his senility, was falling under the malign influence of a UFO crackpot.

All in all, it reminds me a bit too much of the obsessive pattern seeking that paranoid people sometimes exhibit. The dots just don't connect.

Although I am a tad sceptical of anyone with alleged CIA connections writing a book and claiming the truth...not because of conspiracy theories, more like because insiders on this stuff split the truth so much I often wonder if they remember what the truth really is.

If you don't believe in Microwaves being used for Mind Control I would advise you to check this out, a letter drom the DOD to one Sharon Shea: http://www.mindcontrolforums.com/dod-ltr.htm

Commander X is like so right dude. One time after taking bong hits my dog told me to look out of the window and sure enough Brown people were floating outside in the air. The next morning I felt pretty groggy and later found out that our septic tank had exploded. Weird.

5 out of 5 stars WE ARE BUT SHEEP BEING LEAD TO SLAUGHTER. . ........2001-11-29

Ever have the feeling someone is looking over your shoulder? That someone is reading your mail - or listening to what you have to say over the telephone? NO! Its not the CIA or even the New World Order -- cause reality is a lot stranger than even the most paranoid among us has been made to believe. All around us are DARK DIMENSIONS where beings of negativity hide and try to do us harm and control our very existence. According to Commander X there are numerous entities which exist all around us, but remain UNSEEN. Some of these beings are actually working together to control our thinking and belief system = and have been doing so since the dawn of creation. Its all very bizarre -- and to some may seem like utter nonsense -- but the good Commander makes it all sound very believable. I guess its up to the reader to decide how controlled we really are!

5 out of 5 stars The TRUTH must be known - We are all in grave danger!!!.......2000-09-05

This is the ultimate history of our combined human/alien heritage. It explains all, including, but not limited to; How The Soulless Ones use daytime television to mollify innumerable women throughout this country to facilitate their impregnation by The Greys, thus leading to the Human/Alien hybridization which is now almost the norm in the United States, if not the whole free world. The secret alliance between The Elders, The Illuminati, The CIA, The KGB, OPEC, and the Queen of England dating back to 1954 which, as a direct result, has led to the construction of massive underground catacombs in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Sub-Continent. It is in these catacombs that the Greys carry out their experiments on the over 100,000 people who disappear each year. These experiments have resulted in the creation of The Counterfeit Race. It is The Counterfeit Race which The Soulless Ones plan to use to repopulate the nations of the world when they finally make their move for supremacy. It also delves into The Illuminati's supposed practice of mass mind control through the use of microwaves. It is here that Commander X has allowed himself to be drawn into the world of science fiction, any 12th grader worth his salt knows that mass mind control by microwaves is just plain impossible. I do not hold this against him thought, as everyone is allowed to make a mistake now and again. I also do not allow it to hurt my rating of the book, as the amount of information present in the book which is accurate overwhelms this one little inaccuracy. In closing, If you read one book this year, nay this new Millennium, make it this one. You owe it to yourself, your children, the entire human race in fact. Hopefully there is still time to save ourselves.

Book Description

A Harvard-trained independent scholar looks at the numerous ways Advanced Beings--Von Ward's term for angels and extraterrestrials--have been influencing human history since the dawn of time. Using biblicial and other ancient sources, along with modern scientific and achaelogical findings, he unearths new information about AB's contributions to humanity including the roots of language, technology, math, science, and more.

"Gods, Genes, and Consciousness" ties this new historical information to the present day by revealing the ways in which our cultural memories of ABs as well as records of AB involvement have been systematically suppressed in order for government and church officials to control the population. This provocative book culminates with a stirring call for the U.S. government to stop the cover-up and tell the truth about AB involvement.

1 out of 5 stars An Honest Opinion - David Heffernan.......2007-09-18

I'm an English mother tongue speaker in a non-English speaking country. I, like many people have a deep interest in the origins and history of man. Thanks to Amazon I can get books shipped half way around the globe, and, as such keep myself up to date. The expence is usually worth it.
I noticed alot of people have given this book a 5 star rating, nobody gave it 4 or 3. People did however give ratings of 2 and 1 stars. I suppose that means you like it or you don't - no middle ground.

I feel compelled to give this book a one star rating. It is clear that the author (or at least a research team on behalf of the author ) did the research. I have been researching this field for nearly a decade and can confirm that nearly every person, topic, artifact and theory makes a cameo appearance.
Where is the problem?
The Author begins with his conclusions and reads them without any reservations whatsoever into everything introduced into the discussion thereafter. This book contains the scarest liberal interpretation of the bible I have ever seen. It doesn't stop there.
The book is inexplicably lacking in quotations, evidence or anything tangible at all.
I don't think the author (research team) properly thought through their ideas. You can't except all the dogma of evolution and confirm the biblical flood at the same time. Evolution is a dead theory, the evolutionary time scale is dogma not science. The so called classifications given to so called prehistoric man are but the mere utopian dreams of accademics from two or three generations ago.

Advanced beings (Angels, demons, aliens, spirits etc.) if they really did exist, I'm sure that someboby somewhere would dig a hole in the ground and unearth definitive proof...it hasn't happened.
If they exist today...where are they!...I'm sure that there is some intergalactic secret to explain why hundreds of thousands of people testify to having encounters with nonhuman beings and none of them bring back the proof to prove it.
There are no two ways about it, hard evidence is the proof of a phenomenon, not wishful thinking, weird and wonderful tales or golden memories.

1 out of 5 stars What a disappointment this was.......2007-08-15

Nothing but New Age agenda laden, anti-Christian schlock. This book spends most of its time bashing Christians and their faith and hardly any time discussing the real culprits which are the fallen angels and their offspring the Nephilim. Pity, it could have been so much more.

5 out of 5 stars A must read for those thirsty for knowledge.......2007-07-25

I can't believe this book has been out for 3 years and I just discovered it. The author builds upon what I consider the best books to date on this subject - those by visionary Zechariah Sitchin (the author builds on other authors and research of course as well). Then author Paul von Ward offers an academic and almost scitentific analysis of human history, tying in links with myths, culture, religions, human psychology and more. Finally someone with strong credentials offers a well-researched and credible explanation of our ancestry and the history of our civiliztion.

5 out of 5 stars Exceptional--a Masterpiece of Extensive Research.......2007-05-16

I cannot recommend this book too strongly for anyone serious about understanding both our human past and the implications of it for our current evolution of consciousness and improvement of society. I do a lot of reading in several related disciplines and this has been the single most helpful book I have read in many years. It has connected the dots in some key areas where I had yet had "blanks."

My extensive formal and personal study in Christian theology/Biblical studies, psychology, cosmology, the "paranormal," and such have led me to find that virtually every element of the author's historical reconstruction rings true. That is not to deny that some aspects of it are necessarily a bit speculative, as Von Ward would acknowledge. But the critical outline of the story is significantly in tune with the clear implications coming out of the fields mentioned, and others, particularly archaeology.

Especially helpful and on-the-money is Von Ward's explanation of how and why theology and science, via the institutions that drive them, both avoid the kind of observations he brings out. This is massively important for our society and the world. He has new conclusions I've not encountered before, but they are based on solid work by many scholars in various fields. Now, these scholars are often not in the mainstream for the very reason that the mainstream tends to avoid looking at the larger picture.

So, if you are tied to only conventional, "accepted" authorities, this book may not be convincing. Still, I'd hope you would give it a hearing, and perhaps follow up on some of the many great footnotes and bibliography, which are extensive. All readers: do take the time to look up the footnotes, even if you read them all at once as I tend to often, to avoid constant flipping back and forth--there are many gems there.

This book is so valuable, I wish there were a way to get it to be standard reading, at least in the many relevant courses in a college curriculum. It is important as a stimulator of further questioning and research, as well as in its conclusions. Besides academia, it is a must-read for all serious seekers of an understanding of where we come from and where we are going--and OUR OWN POWER to affect that.

5 out of 5 stars This is a Must-Read for those researching and wanting to know more then what their religion tells them to believe........2007-04-15

I loved this book. The first few chapters were dedicated more for metaphysical stuff, but after those there is some really good information in this book, to those who are open in their trains of thinking. This is my favorite book thusfar regarding this subject. It has the most information, I have found in one spot. This book touches many subjects such as Nibiru, The Annuaki, timelines in history, and other interventions in our history. The author often asks what most people don't. This talks about forbidden history, the effects of other cultures on ours, and how all of man-made religions were made. A Great read.

Alien Agenda is the silk thread leading the way through the maze of UFO literature into the heart of the UFO controversy. While he begins with the premise that the existence of UFOs cannot be denied, Jim Marrs (author of Crossfire, the mother of all John F. Kennedy assassination conspiracy books) boldly strides into the battle over what UFOs are and why they are here. Marrs's investigative skills are invaluable in this re-examination of questions that have been overlooked, unaddressed, or unsatisfactorily resolved.

Book Description

The truth begins here

Author and award-winning Journalist Jim Marrs has uncovered compelling new evidence regarding extraterrestrials-that alien life forms have not only visited our planet in the past, but are among us right now. Drawing on numerous eyewitness accounts, highly classified CIA reports, and his own meticulous research, Marrs marshals an impressive array of facts to confirm the reality of UFOs--as well as the depth of the government campaign to keep America in the dark. 5 out of 5 stars Jin Marrs Alien Agenda.......2007-08-31

This is one of the most interesting books i have ever read. this book is long, about 600 pages, but Jim Marrs does a wonderful job of researching the topic of ET and UFO visitation to this planet. The writing is quite easy to read and it is a hard book to put down. Of all the books on the topic of ET and UFO, I believe this book is the best. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody and for any age group. I look forward to reading more of Mr Marrs' works.

4 out of 5 stars Very interesting.......2006-08-23

A very interesting book. I'm not sure that I subscribe to the scientific validity of regression hypnosis, as it's the foundation of much of the data presented in the book. Nonetheless, eerie and tantalizing recollections of terrifying experiences are presented. The book is definitely entertaining. Makes you wonder????

5 out of 5 stars Still a Classic.......2006-08-22

I'm reading this book for the third time in as many years.

Marrs is really onto something, and his scholarship and journalistic abilities are impeccable. This book should sit with those of Keel and Vallee when it comes to examining the UFO phenomenon.

HIGHLY recommended.

5 out of 5 stars The UFO Threat is Real!.......2006-08-17

_Alien Agenda: Investigating the Extraterrestrial Presence Among Us_ by conspiracy researcher and journalist Jim Marrs provides an interesting study of many of the claims involving the presence of extraterrestrials and UFOs. Marrs starts with the assumption that UFOs are indeed real and that the government is covering up their presence. I am not sure I am quite ready to jump on that bandwagon yet, but there certainly seems to be something going on, and there certainly appears to be a cover-up by scientists and government officials. As Marrs notes, there are different viewpoints by which the existence of extraterrestrials (ETs) may be examined. Some would regard them as angelic beings, fairies, or other fantastic creatures, while others would regard them as life-forms from another planet visiting earth. Fundamentalists may regard them as tools of Satan, and I believe there is some evidence to indicate that UFO abductions may bear the marks of demonic possession, but I also think there is no reason to rule out the existence of ETs a priori. One interesting interpretation of the UFO abduction phenomenon that I read was that of Charles Upton, a traditionalist Sufi, who in the book _The System of Antichrist_ argued that they were in fact the jinn of Islamic lore. In any event, it need not be the case that ETs are ill disposed to mankind, and if they do make contact (provided they have not made contact with us already) it will be necessary to seek a peaceful understanding with them so as to avoid one of the greatest clashes of civilizations imaginable (and also probably one of the greatest and most violent wars). (To this Christian this would also mean telling the ETs about Christ and possibly baptising them.) However, my knowledge of the history of the conflict between Old World and New World peoples leads me to believe that such a peaceful encounter may be too much to ask for.

Among those great minds who have taken on the UFO question include psychoanalyst Carl Jung and the astronomer and computer scientist Jacques Vallee. Both of their works on the subject are excellent. However, it should be noted that the field of ufology is not respected by scientists and that an active presence exists in the scientific community (including such luminaries as the late Carl Sagan) to debunk them. Another individual who provided a study on the alien abduction phenomenon is the Harvard psychiatrist John Mack, though I personally found his work to be less believable especially given his use of hypnosis. UFOs have been sighted in the skies since ancient times, including in the medieval period, and a spacecraft was believed to have crashed in Aurora, Texas in 1897. Perhaps the most famous alleged UFO crash is the crash in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 which Marrs thoroughly discusses. This crash is believed by many to have been covered up by the government who may have taken the remains to Area 51 in Nevada. Flying saucers were also repeatedly seen by Air Force pilots throughout much of the post-World War II and Cold War period. Marrs discusses a fascinating theory that has been proposed involving the alleged visitation of alien life-forms to our planet in the remote past. According to this "ancient astronaut hypothesis", ETs may have visited earth in the past and may be depicted in various remains of our ancestors. In addition, it is believed by some that ETs may have built some of the most ancient ruins and structures on earth. While interesting, I think these theories are not very likely and that instead these ancient ruins may represent the remains of a global super-civilization of the past and not an extraterrestrial encounter. Marrs also explains the curious relationship between the Nazis and UFOs. It has been suggested by some that the Nazis may have developed flying saucer technology and may have used this technology to escape capture after the Second World War, to relocate, and to travel into various underground bases. Marrs also discusses the role of the United States government in investigating, covering up, and "debunking" UFO claims. Indeed, the CIA (also known for its experiments in mind control and with LSD and other psychoactive drugs) was frequently involved in UFO cover-ups. Marrs discusses theories that the government leaders were planning to escape an imminent global catastrophe by hiding out underground as well as the idea that government leaders may be seeking an escape on another planet. In addition, Marrs discusses several interesting but very strange individuals who claimed to have encountered ETs. These include Eduard Albert Meier (known as "Billy") who claimed contact with the Pleiadians and George Adamski, a Polish immigrant who allegedly met a man from Venus. Some of these claims may be the result of mental imbalance in certain individuals or as part of government disinformation programs. Indeed, many of those who encountered UFOs had active links to government agencies, often with top secret security clearances. Marrs takes on other issues such as abduction, mentioning such cases as those of Whitley Streiber and Travis Walton, crop circles, and animal mutilations. While the presence of crop circles was originally thought to be a prank after two hoaxers were caught, they continued to crop up all over the world leading to the inevitable conclusion that the vast majority of them were not pranks at all. Animal mutilations were thought to be the work of Satanists or other cultists, but again lack of evidence may point in other directions. Marrs also provides an interesting discussion of the government's dabbling in remote viewing. The military and government have experimented with mind control, drugs, and other strange phenomenon so it only stands to reason that they would attempt to experiment with remote viewers and other psychics. Interestingly, UFOs continue to crop up over and over again in the drawings of remote viewers. It also is interesting to point out that officially the mainstream scientific consensus is that remote viewing is a chimera, so it is odd to find out that those very same government sponsored scientists are investigating this phenomenon behind the scenes. It would appear that so long as ordinary people do not attempt to understand it, it is a legitimate area of inquiry for government regulation! Marrs next turns his attention to the "metaphysical implications" of an ET encounter. These implications are perhaps the most interesting for philosophers and other theorists attempting to get a grip on our reality. Finally, Marrs turns his attention to the whole idea of who really rules in the world. According to science fiction, the first command an alien life-form would give to humanity would be "Take me to your leader!" so a natural question is who really has the power on earth. Marrs mentions such groups as the Bilderbergers and other secret elite societies. In particular, those who control the money are those who wield the real power, and this would mean the international bankers. Marrs shows how the Federal Reserve Banking System poses such a threat to our liberty and represents the machinations of a disinterested elite.

This book offers an excellent introduction to the entire UFO phenomenon. Marrs thoroughly investigates many of the encounters and occurrences surrounding UFOs, the government cover-ups, and poses some of the philosophical questions that would ensue given an encounter. While I am not sure whether ETs exist or not, I do think that something is definitely going on, and that the government is definitely trying to cover it up. Those who bravely dare to challenge established opinion risk much to reveal the truth behind the machinations of the elite manipulators.

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best books I have Ever read!.......2006-08-07

Wow! Jim Marrs has done his homework and provided a vast amount of information from different perspectives. He discusses the UFO phenomenon throughout history to the present day, including inside info. on possible underground alien communities existing on Earth and Mars.
The book starts off with UFOs and the secret interest of world governments, the development of advanced technologies, and then goes into abductions, animal mutilations, crop circles, remote viewing, and the future of our planet.
I especially learned a lot from the last chapter, which explains the history of the Federal Reserve Bank and certain secret societies of the wealthy, elite few who rule this world through the use of worthless paper money.
You should definitely read this book! I took my time with it and absorbed every word. It was well worth the time. Thank you Jim Marrs!

5 out of 5 stars The most informative book on UFO abductions I've ever read........1999-10-29

Eight well written case histories of aductions including details usually excluded from other accounts of abductions by other authors.

Her chapter eleven, "Expanding The View", summarizes a chilling perspective of the "control" consistantly exerted over abductees.

4 out of 5 stars Who do you believe?.......2006-03-14

I picked this book up nearly 10 years ago, and since then, it's been one of those books I like to scan through at least once a year. Brad Steiger has always been one of my favorite authors for those subjects that lie on the edge. I'd have to call this one a classic.
The overall problem with this entry lies in the believability of the co-autor, Al Bielek. Would you beleive someone who claims to have been age-regressed by some government agency, and tells the tale through a second identity? I'm not going to say it's completely impossible, yet it seems in all rationality, highly improbable. Al claims that he was a sailor on the Eldrige when the imfamous "Philidelphia Experiment" took place; an experiment with electro-magnetic energy that was supposed to act like the cloaking device from Star Trek (though more than 20 years before the Star Trek series was ever conceived), but instead, ripped open a dimentional portal. I have my own beliefs on this subject, but the way Al Bielek spins the tale, I just have to discount Al's version.
What I do enjoy about this book, however, are Brad's seperate stories in the last 1/3rd of the book. Strange tales about beings from middle Earth (the Dero) who have abduted humans, as well as strange places and wierd occrances. The second 1/3 of the book is almost like "The Best of FATE Magazine".
Truthfull or not, this book is a very interesting read. Depending on weather or not you believe the tale of Al Bielek, you ought to have plenty of fun with this title. Serious reserchers, you probably ought to stay clear of the first 2/3ds, unless you are reading it for fun. To the rest of you who read these subjects for fun or intrest, this entry will take you on one hell of a ride. 4 1/2 stars for Brad; Al, well...I'll allow the rest of you to pass judgement.

2 out of 5 stars About 20 % Good Material - 80 % Filler.......2002-04-03

This book has it's good points but veers too far away from the subject of the title. It contains things like:
-was Noah's arc a flying saucer
-are there people living under the earth
-who were the original people who lived in Atlantis.
These things are interesting but have absolutely nothing to do with UFO conspiracies. The book jumps all over the place with stories about things like some guy who was enslaved in a cave in some desert somewhere by devils. The book has some value mainly for the sparce input provided by Al Bielek. The experiences of Bielek related to the Philadelphia Experiment affected him deep within his soul. He disappeared and his wife and child never found out what happened to him. So much for the government's concern for those who participate in such dangerous activities.
Some of the things Bielek says are very thought provoking but you won't find any good expansion of those topics here. Another problem is people try to speculate about the intentions of these weird alien creatures who impregnate females to create hybrid life forms. They are evil. That much is obvious. They are just one form of an evil force that can take any form.

5 out of 5 stars THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS.......2002-01-14

I just saw co-author Al Bielek on the CONSPIRACY ZONE and despite attempts by the host to ridicule his guest -- and the subject of time travel in general -- I thought Bielek did a good job of defending his story as told in this book. The Philadelphia Experiment subject is a hard one of pin down, but I feel this book does a better job than most in getting to the root of the mtter. After reading the bok and seeing Bielek on TV, I am more convinced than ever that the experiment took place. The book is a good read -- its hard to put down.

1 out of 5 stars Don't Buy this Book.......2001-05-06

This book is about 100 pages of big type. Just a bunch of hearsay stories thrown together with no attempt made to validate them. It may be a good read for middleschool level reader; but it will never be worth the ... that I had to pay for it. This is a 3$ book that you buy at a book fair in a Junior High School.

5 out of 5 stars One Of The Great Mysteries Of Our Time.......2001-03-23

The Philadelphia Experiment is one of those legendary mysteries that continues to have believers and adherents almost sixty years after it was alleged to have happened. Even the normally staid History Channel has broadcast a documentary about the catastrophic results of the attempt to render invisible to radar a US Navy warship during the Second World War.

While much has been written on the subject over the years, perhaps the best source of reliable information comes from veteran paranormal researcher and author Brad Steiger, whose book "The Philadelphia Experiment and Other UFO Conspiracies" contains not only a history of what happened, but also features the confessions of a former Navy officer who was actually there--quite a coup when it comes to finding hard data on a secret so closely guarded.

What exactly was the Philadelphia Experiment? Steiger summarizes it as follows: "It is alleged that, in 1943, the US Navy secretly accomplished the teleportation of a warship from Philadelphia to a dock near Norfolk by successfully applying Einstein's Unified Field Theory. Then, the account has it, the Navy explored a further extension of this theory and caused the same warship, the 'Eldridge,' and its crew to become invisible. When the ship returned to visibility, it was learned that the experiment had been a success--for the 'Eldridge.'

"The crewmen and officers were trapped in hell. A number of the crew burst into flames in spontaneous human combustion. Some found portions of their bodies 'frozen' into the steel structures of the warship. Of the officers and members of the crew who survived, many spent the remainder of their lives committed to psychiatric wards."

It is not hard to see why the Navy would choose to keep such a bizarre disaster under wraps from that point on. But they failed to reckon with one of the experiment's survivors, a man named Al Bielek (who is listed as a co-author with Steiger and Steiger's wife Sherry). While Bielek's memory of that fateful day is somewhat hazy, returning to him in flashes and spurts, as one would expect given the mind-bending nature of what happened, he gives Steiger the kind of inside information and secret historical data that could only come from a sailor who was actually there. Were UFOs a part of the overall picture? Read the book and see.

As the title implies, Steiger's "The Philadelphia Experiment" also takes up the tale of other alleged UFO conspiracies, to include the rumored formation of Majestic-12 by the Truman administration to deal with the UFO threat in the wake of the Roswell Incident. A truly fascinating overview of many of the Inner Earth mysteries, like the tales of the "Dero" popularized by Richard Shaver and Ray Palmer, is worth the price of the book by itself.

If you're a serious student of the Philadelphia Experiment or are just looking for some marvelously entertaining reading on UFOs and the paranormal, "The Philadelphia Experiment and Other UFO Conspiracies" is a winner from beginning to end.
