Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

At the end of Killing Critics, the third book in Carol O'Connell's addictive series about Mallory, a strikingly original New York City cop, Mallory is traveling south on a train. "She carried no stitch of formal identification that would tie her to a name or a place. This was the way she had come to New York as a child, with only her wits and a bit of a mother's blood on her hands ..." Stone Angel shows us both the beginning and end of that journey, solving mysteries set up in O'Connell's first two books in the series--Mallory's Oracle and The Man Who Cast Two Shadows--as well as raising the inevitable question of what she can do for an encore. Even if the Mallory books end here, O'Connell's future seems secure: these dark and powerful myths are sure to be read and reread for a long time.
Book Description
NYPD sergeant Kathleen Mallory is drawn to place far away from home. In a small town in Louisiana, she steps off the train. Within the hour, one man has been assaulted, another has had a heart attack, a third has been murdered, and Mallory is in jail, though she nothing to do with any of these three events. She is there for an entirely different purpose.
Seventeen years earlier, Mallory's mother died in this town, stoned to death by a mob, and the six-year-old Mallory had disappeared, to reappear on the streets of New York. Now she's back to find out who killed her mother, and what happened to the body, vanished as well, its only trace a winged angel in the local cemetery.
Customer Reviews:
A good read.......2006-09-12
If only Mallory could be a smidge, just a smidge, more human this book could have gone from 'interesting' to 'riveting'. In my opinion, its the humanity behind the mask that make 'troubled' fictional characters fascinating. Otherwise they are just kind of mean people, who aren't so interesting. We do seem some redeeming traits in Mallory but more would have been better.
Overall a fairly solid mystery, a little much at the end I thought but if you like a 'big ending' then this book is for you. I liked the element of small town secrecy and long buried secrets. The writing itself was solid, good dialogue, descriptions, etc. It did wander into stereotype land a few times (I got, by the 16th time it was mentioned, that Charles is a Devoted Sidekick who would do anything for Mallory, that Lilith was a Rookie Cop and Mallory was oh-so-much savvier than her, and that Mallory is Cooler than Cool in her gunslinger outfit). Overall, for me, it bordered on being great but in the end was more 'good'.
Would make Tennessee Williams proud..........2006-07-15
Stone Angel by Carol O'Connell is the fourth in her Kathy Mallory mystery series and one of her strongest books yet.
At the end of book three, NYPD detective Kathy Mallory fled NYC without telling a soul and leaving her job and friends behind. Friend Charles Butler sees a newspaper photograph of a stone angel grave marker that looks like just Mallory. He travels to the bayou town of Dayborn, Louisiana to investigate. Mallory's partner, Detective Riker, is not far behind. Not only does Charles find Mallory, but she's being held in jail as a material witness to a murder. When Mallory was seven, her mother was stoned to death by a mob of 27 townspeople. The crime remains unsolved and not one person has ever been charged. Butler and Riker suspect that Mallory has returned to her hometown to seek revenge.
The characters in Stone Angel would make Tennessee Williams proud. They include an autistic savant, an evangelist tent preacher, a mute sculptor, and an eccentric woman who is letting her mansion crumble around her to become a bird sanctuary. As with any southern-style novel, there are lots of secrets, gossip and high drama as well as a dash of alcohol and good food. We learn more about Mallory's past in the first chapter than in the first three books combined. She is determined to solve this seventeen year old crime despite a wall of silence.
Two aspects of Stone Angel kept me from giving it five stars. First, O'Connell's characters are just a little too over the top (especially regular Charles Butler). But I forgive O'Connell this fault because her writing is so good. Second, this is the third mystery that I've read recently where the main character (cop or private eye) goes back to investigate the unsolved murder of their mother. I encountered the same theme with Michael Connelly (Harry Bosch series) and James Lee Burke (Dave Robicheaux series). Despite these faults, I still really enjoy O'Connell and the Mallory series.
Best of the series, so far........2006-03-09
A touch of gullibility in the reader is needed to admire Mallory right out of the box. But this reader is perfectly willing to be treated like a child in the interests of a truly good read. If you don't enjoy this one, you'd better swear off Mallory; she doesn't get much better than here.
All right.......2005-10-27
It was all right but could have been better. Too much Charles, not enough Mallory and I think a little more of her past relationship with her mother and may be a hint of a future story about who her father is. In my opinion it could have been much better.
A bit of a disappointment..............2004-07-17
After reading the previous three books in this series, I'm afraid this story was a bit of a disappointment but maybe that's because I hold O'Connell to too high a standard and certainly any Mallory book is well worth reading. However, I found some of the town's characters to be a little far fetched not to mention stereotypical and the mystery surrounding Mallory's youthful years which ended on the streets of NYC had a few holes (so much was made of Mallory only having this telephone number and we never found out who it belonged to although we know it was a female and can assume it was Augusta and why didn't her mother just tell her to run to either of their closest neighbors since surely Augusta or the scupltor would have helped?, etc.). The resolution to this story was not as crisp as all the others and I felt that so much more could have been done with the revelation of Mallory's past; but don't get me wrong, the murder mystery of both past and present was well crafted.

Book Description
In the crumbling remains of a tunnel that was part of the Underground Railroad, a mysterious artifact reveals one of the darkest secrets of Africa's ancient past. Customer Reviews:
even better than previous books.......2007-03-15
This installment in the Rogue Angel series shows that "Alex Archer" has really gelled with the Annja character and the story process. So far, this one has flowed better than the others, and those were well-done as well. Another little archaeological adventure has Annja getting to use her sword, of course, and reflect more on the repercussions of her actions and seemed a little more introspective than previous story arcs. The action flowed and this story progressed faster, probably because by now "Archer" doesn't have to rehash as much character history and can just get on with storytelling. I just finished this book and couldn't wait for the next installment.
Another excellent book.......2007-02-21
This book follows in the vein of Destiny. A pleasant blend of action, high adventure and history. Alex does a wonderful job with the characters. The good guys are people who you like and root for and the bad guys are, well, bad as they can be.
The premise behind the story is great. The mix of religion, mysticism and mystery blend well with the action and history.
Annja yet again is called upon to defend the weak against the agression of evil. I recommend this book.
Sort of a Flintstone's Vitamin of literature. Good stuff. .......2007-01-28
"The team failed," a slim warrior with an eye-patch told Tafari.
"How?"
"They went after the woman. They thought she would be the easiest to capture. Instead she killed three of them."
In Alex Aracher's, "Rogue Angel: The Spider Stone," that's pretty much how it goes for the bad guys who go after Annja, the story's hero, an archeologist with a secret weapon - the reassembled mystical sword that once belonged to Joan of Arc. The sword awakens a warrior's fighting ability within Annja (to nothing less than superhero proportions) and it's a good thing since her latest excursion into an archeological mystery eventually causes her to cross paths with an African warlord.
That poor warlord didn't even know what he was getting himself into.
I was unfamiliar with the Rogue Angel series and only read it at the suggestion of a friend. I'm glad I did because not only was it designed to be a quick read that throws you into the fast-paced action sequences, but it also brought the brutality of slavery and the horrendous economic conditions that plague Africa alive for me in a way that history books and news articles don't. That's what good storytelling is, I think, it entertains, but also opens your eyes to something you might not have seen before (without getting preachy in the process).
The book itself is a relatively quick read, by design, and is broken up into brief chapters for people on the go - read a little here and there, stop, then pick it back up later - the type of book that satisfies the reader on the go. (The writer seems to have understood who today's readers might be.)
I recommend this book for the action lovers out there who read sporadically, love history and world events, but don't have the time to become completely immersed in them - sort of a Flintstone's Vitamin of literature. Good stuff.
An old fashioned highball.......2007-01-26
"Rogue Angel: The Spider Stone" is an old fashioned highball. It's a big shot of action in an ice cold world, lightning fast pacing to fill and garnished with a sacred stone from the heart of Africa. It's intoxicating and fun.
The action in this story is positively breathtaking. An experienced hand wrote this book and it shows. That hand has been in the dojo, doubled into a fist and smashed through some bricks. That hand recognizes the feel of steel, has cradled a blade and known a sword as weapon and a friend. That brings an edgy reality to the action sequences that pop right off the page.
Annja Creed is a heroine with a mission from the highest power. She's definitely not one of Alcott's little women "taught by weal and woe to love and labor ..." She's on the other end of the pendulum's arc with Laura Croft and Electra. She is a hero in the ultramodern sense, and that is the story's only flaw. She is unshackled by uncertainty, romantic interest, or existential introspection. I missed the depth that would have brought to her character. But this isn't a tea and crumpets romance, it is an unapologetic action thriller, and it earns its chops.
"Rogue Angel: The Spider Stone" stays true to its theme rooted deep in a constant opposition of light and shadow. Alex Archer's commitment to plain prose makes this story read fast and sure.
Annja Creed has the avenging sword and social compass of Saint Joan of Arc. And that's just for starters. This story takes Annja Creed across the world on a quest to protect a sacred stone. Yes, the trail is bumpy, dangerous and littered with plenty of bad guys. I'm glad I went Annja on this adventure. You will be glad too. Highly recommended.
Clean Writing.......2006-11-25
This book is the third in a new series, featuring as the lead character a young female archeologist. Anja Creed. The story is action-adventure with a mix of fantasy and mystery. Alex Archer is a pen name under which several authors will write, and this entry is by Mel Odom. I found the pacing to be just right. Odom is especially good at establishing a sense of place, and this was an enjoyable page-turner. Odom must have done some good research for this book, for he has woven interesting bits of knowledge here and there into the story. I also enjoyed how well the characters were delineated. With deft, clean writing, the novel pulled me in with its strong story line, entertained me with bits of knowledge, and captured my attention with its interesting characters.

Book Description
In her best-loved novel, The Stone Angel, Margaret Laurence introduces Hagar Shipley, one of the most memorable characters in Canadian fiction. Stubborn, querulous, self-reliant – and, at ninety, with her life nearly behind her – Hagar Shipley makes a bold last step towards freedom and independence.
As her story unfolds, we are drawn into her past. We meet Hagar as a young girl growing up in a black prairie town; as the wife of a virile but unsuccessful farmer with whom her marriage was stormy; as a mother who dominates her younger son; and, finally, as an old woman isolated by an uncompromising pride and by the stern virtues she has inherited from her pioneer ancestors.
Vivid, evocative, moving, The Stone Angel celebrates the triumph of the spirit, and reveals Margaret Laurence at the height of her powers as a writer of extraordinary craft and profound insight into the workings of the human heart.
Customer Reviews:
Dour, very dour.......2006-02-02
I was required to read this book for a high school assignment and found it to be laborious read. I found Hagar's character to be so bitter, angry, and grouchy that it just put a damper on the whole thing. I adimt she (as well as the other characters) is well fleshed out but that just makes things worse.
There are several things you can pull out of this book but the most obvious one is the classic example of a person who is so proud and stubborn that s/he is unable to accept love or give of it. That's the character of Hagar and like her, this is a novel you'll want to avoid because it's a very dour thing to contend with.

Do not go gentle into that good night........2005-01-29
This is essential CanLit 101.
Iconic!
For the longest time I have intended to read Margaret Laurence, and this is where I have started. I now know that I will continue on and read more of her work, especially the other Manawaka books in the series.
I think we are looking at some essential Canadian literature here, and yet, nearly every high school student from St John's to Victoria would rise up and say "What? Are you nuts?" As much as this book is inflicted upon the high-schoolers of Canada, it sure has not gained a welcome reception by that age group! For the Canadian teenager, seeing The Stone Angel on the English syllabus has become the equivalent of.... hmmm what would one say? Having a radio that is locked on the CBC station?
I believe this is because The Stone Angel is a book that is all about the "interior" and to truly love the book the reader must have an appreciation of the life processes involved in becoming an elderly person. From start to finish we are on the inside of this character Hagar Shipley. It is not the realm of the exciting pace and involved plotline. This book is rather a very somber, brooding, introspective look at a proud and uncompromising woman in her nineties. She is a woman who does not (in the slightest) want to succumb to the realities, adjustments, and inconveniences of aging and dying. As she faces the combined trauma of diminished health and loss of meaningful relationships, she has to come to terms with who she really is.
How far will her incessant pride and irritable crankiness get her in this last year of her life? How can she escape from those who try to make it all easier for her? Will she confess her unmitigated (and inevitable) need of others... of those who truly, and undauntingly, care for her well-being? Will she break down or remain haughty?
Laurence is simply brilliant in that she weaves a seamless web between the present and the past, between Hagar's current experience and her memories.
It is not easy, the transition[s] that we who will live on into old age will have to make if we are to succeed at being old. This book pulls no punches with how difficult the process can be, especially for the type "A" personality.
It is no accident that the book begins with the lines from Dylan Thomas:
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
It is a story about a woman who raged. And yet (in my opinion)there is not one real angry tirade in it! It is (I think) a different sort of "raging" that is being dealt with here in the story, as with the poem by Thomas. It is not the kind of raging that is with gritted teeth and defiance, [denial] it is the kind of raging that is mingled with profound sadness and regret... yes, anger too I suppose, but anger only because one has to leave behind so much of what one loves.
Here is the realistic journey of a woman who has to come to terms with the fact that "what's going to happen can't be delayed indefinitely."
I think the book is somewhat of a masterpiece. Voraciously, I read it.
A book that is sorely lacking..........2004-04-03
I read this book in one of my classes in Teacher's College and I really disliked it. There are few books that I dislike, but this one ranks highly on that short list. It was one of the few books where I felt absolutely no emotional connection to any of the characters. I did not care what happened to the characters in the book. The author fails to hook the reader. Frankly, I would never choose this novel for high school students to read because they need books that make them want to continue reading. I also feel that most high school students would find it difficult to relate to the characters. I found that the plot was slow and ... well... the book was just boring. Some of the prose in the novel, however, was very poetic so the novel might be useful for studying "found poetry" but I really do not think that it would be the best choice for high school students to read for a novel study. If you are looking for a novel full of excitement and emotion, this is not the book for you.
Excellent Book!.......2004-01-15
The first time I read The Stone Angel was in high school as part of the reading curriculum. Despite my English teacher's best efforts to ruin the book for us, I managed to enjoy it. I was surprised that a book with adult content (mild) had survived the censor's cut, but I was pleased it did.
A year ago I decided to reread the book and found it was even better than I my memory served me. Now that I have some life experience under my belt, I discovered the book to be far more moving and poignant. Margaret Lawrence brings out a true to life character in Hagar, the book's protagonist. Hagar could be your mother, your aunt, or your grandmother.
This is a beautiful, touching, compelling, and powerful book. Hagar's struggle with her own painful life memories as she tries to protect her independence and maintain her pride is quite heartrending. I found myself glued to page after page in this story.
The Stone Angel is the first book of the five-volume Manawaka series. Each book in the series stands alone quite well and is enjoyable on its own. I don't believe Lawrence had intended a series when she first wrote The Stone Angel, however, the books were there to be written, and write them she did.
boring.......2003-11-24
I had to read this in high school and when i read the first few pages i couldn't go on. It was incredibly boring how it started off talking about the stone angel in the graveyard and i honestly couldn't care less but i had to read it for the term paper. other than hagar's occasionally amusing use of sarcasm and her bitterness towards the world, it was one of the hardest books i've had to read. her sometimes funny sarcasm, bitterness and negativity towards the people around her still cannot make up for the rest of the incredibly boring novel.

Ascended Masters Oracle Cards: 44-Card Deck and guidebook
ASIN: 1844090000 |
Book Description
With the help of these cards, scroll and booklet, questioners will be able to discover their past lives and how these lives are affecting their present incarnation.
Customer Reviews:
Do you want to know who you were in a past life?.......2003-10-17
The Oracle comes in two parts: the cards, and the Silent Stones Colour Scroll. The actual cards are 3 3/8 inches X 2 3/16 inches, and there are 33 of them. (The box is 4 inches x 6 inches.) The "Scroll" is actually a piece of paper with the image of a scroll and 33 numbered, colored ovals. There is also a 43 page guidebook that accompanies the cards and scroll.
The premise of this oracle is to discover your past life/lives, and how they may be affecting you now and in the future. The authors state: "People have often incarnated many times in their soul's desire to learn, to resolve an issue or to bring forward knowledge to help humanity."
The 33 cards each have an image of either 3 or 4 colored ovals that are stacked vertically. On the back of these cards, at the top, is one of 33 past lives. These include Incas, Hebrews, Native Americans, Atlanteans, Vikings, Knights Templars, Star Children, Early Christians, Japanese, etc. Also on the back is an explanation of the 3 or 4 colored ovals on the other side. This is the first stage of the oracle.
To do a meditative reading, they instruct to ask your angels or guides to show you a color that represents your past life, and then pick the card matching the color/colors that you visualized/were given. To do an intuitive reading, they suggest that you intuitively choose a card that stands out to you. Then, out of the 3 or 4 colors on the card, you are to choose one color that stands out among the ovals. When you turn the card over, it will tell you which past life you are working with and which aspect of that life is affecting you now. You can match up the past life to the description in the Guidebook.
The next step involves the Silent Stones Colour Scroll. You are instructed to intuitively choose a color which stands out to you. (These ovals are also numbered 1-33). This color represents the qualities that you have brought forward from that past life into this one, and there are 4 pages that describe these personal qualities. For example, picking Red for your first color would mean An energetic, vital person, vibrant, outgoing, dynamic, with leadership qualities.
Then, you are to intuitively choose a second color from the Scroll. This color represents certain influences that will be affecting you in the next few weeks of your life. There are then 5 pages that describe these influences. If you were to pick Red as your second color, it states You will lead a new project forward, which should go smoothly if your intention is clear.
Here is an example of the "reading" I did for myself.
I spread the 33 cards out and picked the card that I felt drawn to. This card had a White oval on top, a Rich Royal Blue oval second, a Lilac oval third, and a Silver oval on the bottom. I then picked the color that I felt the most drawn to, and it was the rich royal blue oval.
When I turned the card over, it said that I belonged to the Cathars (Albigentians), and the Rich Royal Blue represented Teachers, and those dedicated to spiritual expression. Apparently, while the groups of colors determine the particular past life you had, the colors themselves represent the energies (and strands from that life) being brought into incarnation now by those who were Cathars in past life.
The ironic thing is this: I had never heard of the Cathars before I used this oracle. But right after, within a few days, I ran into this very term. I definitely have a Teacher/Guide Archetype at work in my psyche, and have been dedicated to "spiritual expression" since I was a young girl. (This being represented by the Rich Royal Blue oval.)
When I went on to the next step, choosing a color from the Scroll, I picked White, which means a person pure of spirit. When I picked my second color, I chose Indigo. This future orientation means After a period of introspection, your wisdom may be expressed through writing or the media in order to help people see a different perspective. This, too, was eerily accurate for several reasons.
Now, understand that I'm not into past lives like some people, and I don't look to past lives as a reason (excuse?) for what is happening to me today. Yes, it's possible that I was indeed a Cathar, and a teacher/spiritual leader to boot, and that would explain my talents and interests. Yet, it doesn't give me any practical information in navigating my life. Confirming what I already know? Possibly.
My concern with these cards, and any oracles for that matter, is that people place their current lives on hold while they examine possible past lives for months (years?) on end. This is, of course, not the fault of the authors of this oracle. In fact, they expressly state in the beginning of their guidebook: "The future is never set in stone. These readings are possibilities and probabilities based on the past and the present. Your thoughts create your future, so you have the power to change a prediction or to enhance and strengthen it."
Kudos for this wonderful disclaimer!
At best, I can see how this oracle could help some discover their unconscious patterns and bring them to light, and also encourage/confirm hidden or obvious talents and aptitudes. At worst, it can be a fun parlor game for individuals and groups.
I would definitely recommend Silent Stones Colour Oracle for those interested in exploring past lives and how they may be impacting your present situation. Please note that I don't think that the packaging for the contents of the oracle will hold up very well over time.

Book Description
No one knows the devastation and heartache of losing a baby more than a father or mother but rarely is it discussed. The parents are told to move on with their lives and forge ahead but the pain is always there. "Forever Our Angels" is a collection of personal stories told by the men and women who were dealt the blow of miscarriage.

Forever our Angels-review.......2007-09-20
I ordered this book because I had been personally grieving a pregnancy loss for about five months. I must say that the stories are very personal and detailed..as though the parent were speaking to you.
It was a book that I read in two evenings and I would reccomend it to anyone who is coming full circle with their grief as it offered me some closure in that I am not alone.
The book CAN be a little sad and so I reccomend it with some caution as it may not be appropriate for someone who has JUST suffered a miscarriage or stillbirth, etc.
Finally, I have actually placed the copy of the book near the pictures of my children that I DID have because it reminds me that my losses are FOREVER MY ANGELS.
Sucessful navigation of grieving.......2006-12-31
Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for Reader Views (12/06)
After suffering her second miscarriage Hannah Stone searched for a book that would help her through her grief. Not finding a book that offered the assistance she needed she decided to write it herself. She has successfully authored a book that will support other women facing the same loss and the same feelings.
"Forever Our Angels" tells the stories of parents, mothers and fathers who share their heartache with others so that perhaps their grief will give comfort and support to someone else. I found myself in tears when reading this book. I remember well the heartache of losing two children to miscarry. No one spoke of it. It was as though the children never existed. I was supposed to pick up and go on ignoring the fact that a part of my husband and I no longer existed. I wish there had been a book like this one to offer support.
The poem by Pablo Neruda expresses the grief of losing a child:
"...forgive me
If you are not living
if you, my beloved, my love
if you
have died,
all the leaves will fall on my breast
it will rain upon my soul night and day
the snow will burn my heart,
I shall walk with cold and fire and death and snow
my feet will want to march toward where you sleep,
but
I shall go on living..."
Ms Stone and others courageously offer a glimpse into what they suffered. They offer comfort by acknowledging that a child did exist. "Forever Our Angels" is written simply and elegantly. It is with honor that I recommend this book to those who have suffered a loss or those who know someone who has.
Bards and Sages review written by Julie Hedge.......2006-12-13
Hannah Stone's "Forever Our Angels" is a touching collection of first hand accounts from both women and men who have suffered through the heartache and loss of a miscarriage. It brought tears of comfort for me from my own personal loss, because it helped me understand that other people were as confused and lost as I was during such a painful time. While this collection certainly will not give grieving parents and answers or a cure, it does allow them to not feel alone.
The layout of the book is simple, with large text (large enough for bleary eyes to read). The accounts are concise and to the point and low on technical terms.
"Forever Our Angels" is a good message to give when you don't know what to say. Death is never easy to deal with, particularly when combined with the loss of potential and what might have been. Hannah Stone's collection wraps a blanket of comfort around those grieving by allowing them to relate to the personal experiences of others.
A Review of Hannah Stone's "Forever Our Angels".......2006-10-03
This is a book about pregnancy loss. Specifically, it includes about 17 non-fiction essays written as 1st-person accounts. Each of the essays is written by a real person who has experienced a miscarriage. The book begins with an an introduction by a doctor of psychiatry, as well as a preface by the author Hannah Stone.
Hannah's conviction that this is a neglected subject is clear, and she herself describes three miscarriages that she experienced. The writers of the rest of the essays range in talent and skill, and the end result has the emotional honesty of a support group, sharing and processing their losses. A few of them are so touching and so honest they're unlike anything else I've ever read.
Take "Gwen" trying to find meaning from her lost baby, Ellie: "Her short life gave me an invaluable lesson. I learned to not take anything for granted. We can say life is a miracle, but I never fully comprehended what a gift it is until it was taken from me. I know Ellie is watching over us. She is my children's guardian angel. And when we meet in heaven someday, I will finally get to hold her in my arms and tell her how much I love her."
Or "Alan" discussing his personal loss as a husband: "The conventional wisdom is that men do their grieving alone but for me, the opportunity to talk to others during the weeks following the loss was crucial. Many people came to me and said things like, 'I know there's nothing that I can say except that we are thinking of you.' These sentiments are what helped carry me through."
I feel like anything I would say at this point might trivialize these essays, and I don't want to do that. Each person's heartache, loss, and honesty deserves more than that, and Hannah Stone deserves praise for bringing this book to publication. It could not have been easy.

Beginning with its unique geology, and moving on to the coastal, desert, and mountain ecosystems of Mexico's little-known peninsula, this lushly decorated coffee-table book highlights the geology that created this "oasis of stone" and the flora and fauna that are make their homes here.
Ending with a short photo-essay on "The Newcomers" (mankind) from cave painters to the enduring rancheros, the book packs a pro-environmental punch by following the many pages of glorious natural beauty with some succinct words and images of what man's enduring legacy might be, should we continue unchecked.
Customer Reviews:
Magic in the desert.......2007-10-08
This oversized table top book is simply amazing. The photographs are otherworldly yet these are the visions of Baja Califonia where desert stone meets the sand and shore. Photographer Miguel Angel de La Cueva presents pictures of Baja California that are mind blowing land and sea visons that look unreal. The photogrpahs reveal glimpses of habitats and micro-habitats that look as though they are from some alien planet. The views from above ,revealing the terrain as it meets the sea looks like molecular observations, it is as though you were looking at blood running through veins in a body;in many ways it is one and the same. The photographs of the various cacti are magnificent, the sun illuminating the spines, making the cacti look like angels with halos or at times their thorny presentation looking like a medussa of devil horns highlighted by the sun. The shots taken at night are superb revealing the austerity and serenity of the desert. The colorful flowering plants of the desert are a sight to behold whether you are a Baja traveler or an arm chair adventurer. The Sierra de La Laguna exhibits some of the most colorful depictions of the desert that defy our sterotypical thoughts regading what a desert looks like. Nature is presented in all it's beauty. Seeing a tree growing like the wild fig, on the side of a cliff, with it's roots extending the length of city blocks is a sight that goes against our normal perceptions of tree growth; the natural beauty of the landscape is impressive. The section on the creatures of the desert is interesting but the photographs of the land and sea far exceeeds those about the animals that hunt and survive. The text is lyrical and expressive of the beauty of the desert that is Baja California. This book is recommended for all Baja enthusiasts, community libraries or high schools. Unfortunately there were only 5,000 copies printed in the first printing so get yours now while you still can.
An essential acquisition by California libraries.......2007-03-07
Enhanced with 160 superbly presented full color photographs by acclaimed photographer Miguel Angel de la Cueva which accompany an informative, almost lyrical text by Bruce Berger, "Oasis Of Stone: Visions Of Baja California Sur" presents a beautifully showcased survey of southern Baja California complete with its unique geology, as well as its coastal, desert and mountain ecosystems. Of special note is the succinct photo-essay on 'The Newcomers" providing a perspective on the contributions and impacts of humans that range on the positive side from cave painters to rancheros, the negative as illustrated by rivers poisoned by pollution and junked car heaps. An essential acquisition by California libraries, "Oasis Of Stone" will also have dramatic appeal for non-specialist general readers with an interest in nature and the environment, as well as armchair travelers seeking to explore the wonders and beauty of the relatively unknown and heretofore underappreciated Baja peninsula
Natural history books can be fun to read!.......2007-02-15
For those who doubt it--check out "Oasis of Stone"...Every glossy page fairly bursts with color and the photos have that amazing depth that only very talented photographers can capture; where it looks as if you could step right inside and walk across a sun-washed valley or into the warm turquoise waters of the Sea. The text as well is both beautiful and deep--one of my favorite non-fiction writers, Bruce Berger, who dazzled all Baja book lovers with "Almost An Island" does it again, taking us deeper into the natural world of this unique peninsula and its inhabitants.

Let The Standing Stones Speak: Messages from the Archangels Revealed
ASIN: 1580631916 |
Book Description
FROM THE ANCIENT STONES, THE WISDOM OF THE ARCHANGELS.IT IS TIME WE LISTEN.Natasha Hoffman knew she'd been called there, to the giant megalithic standing stones at Carnac, in northern France. And she knew she was welcome. An artist, healer, and "intuitive," Hoffman was comfortable in the presence of the mysterious monuments, built around the same time as Stonehenge. One day, walking amid the stones with her companion, Hamilton Hill, she first heard the voice. And she realized, "This is a library. And we can read it."So began their recording of the amazing revelations encoded in the standing stones, messages left for us by the archangels who guard our planet.Using a pendulum and rods for question-and-answer dowsing, Natasha "read" the stones.Hill was the interpreter and transcriber. The stones revealed a detailed history and prehistory of humankind. They explained the loss of harmony in the world, the fall of Atlantis, the workings of grace, the metaphysics of the spirit realm, and the interconnections among chakras, crystals, and earth spirits. They also redefined reincarnation and other realms of existence.Simply, clearly, lovingly, the sanding stones convey divine, universal spiritual truths to guide us toward redressing the imbalance between humanity and the cosmos. They pint us to a path that can lead to a future of tranquility and peace-and gently show us how to take our first steps."Delightfully beautiful . . . important and empowering messages from the archangels to uplift, heal, and open our hearts." -Dr. Doreen Virtue, author of Divine Guidance and Divine Prescriptions
Customer Reviews:
This book changed my life. Have purchased copies for family!.......2006-06-13
In my spiritual journey, this one book has stood out as the most inspiring of all that I have read thus far. The messages from the arch angels that were channeled by the author resonated deep in my spirit. The words that I read were like a confirmation of what I had felt deep down inside and I received so much comfort from the loving messages of hope, love, faith and unity that the angels shared in the book. I read a lot of books and through discernment in my spirit, I instinctively know when what I am reading is truth for me or not, and I have to say this book felt like home! I cannot recommend it enough. I have purchased copies for many family members who are just beginning to discover their spirituality beyond the traditional religious teachings that we all grew up with.
Just read the book and give it a chance, if it resonates in your spirit, you will know it to be truth. If not, then it may not be your truth or it may not be time for you to explore the content in this book. In fact, check it out at the library and if you are not compelled to purchase a copy for yourself, then you have lost nothing. As for me, I have read it many times and continue to pick it up and read select chapters at times when I need encouragement or need a quick lift to my spirit!
Thought provolking.......2006-03-02
The first time I listened to this audio presentation; I was amazed. I knew very little about the magalithe' much less about France's. I have since continued with my studies and found that I hear new invigorating; thought provolking ideas each time I listen. I can't wait to get my borrowers card for the "universal library" I highly recommend this book for those who search for universal truths.
Just NOT Megalithix: The Standing Stones Speak Twaddle..........2005-10-03
If you as a reader are interested in the ideas behind discarnate entities channelling supposed transpersonal information (the more modern expression for old-fashioned mediumship), then this book will be right up your street. But for those of us to whom the subject of standing stones and circles is a true love, avoid this book like the plague! Having read just about everything there is to read on megalithic sciences - from just about every conceivable field - I've gotta say that this book is probably the worst book on the subject I've ever read. It's twaddle, pure and simple, and has no realistic bearing on the nature of these ancient monuments. Having lived at one stone circle as a 'guardian' for two years (the Rollright Stones), and having grown up exploring and sleeping at these places since my childhood (in all weathers), I can safely say that this book goes nowhere near touching the realism which underscores them.
Extraordinary information for our times.......2001-11-15
'The Standing Stones Speak' is one of the most impressive channelling books I have come across. A most informative,
instructive and inspiring message from the Archangels, for our spiritual and physical wellbeing and life in these challenging
times. It is presented in a simple, straightforward, yet gentle
and loving manner. I loved it! Highly recommended.

Book Description
Long considered to be an impenetrable, hermetic treatise, Walter Benjamin's The Origin of German Tragic Drama has rarely received the attention it deserves as a key text, central to a full understanding of his work. In this critically acclaimed study, distinguished Benjamin scholar Beatrice Hanssen unlocks the philosophical and ethical dimensions of his thought with great clarity and sophisitication.
