Alien Contact.......2007-03-09
If UFO's are your thing then Timothy Good is the person to lead you along
Book that tells more than the usual material.. Really good!!!.......2007-03-03
After reading ooodles of these Alien and craft books they all begin to read the same. I appear to be stuck with the same old information then along comes a book like this!! Its is a "read more than once" book!! Guess I'll go see what else Timothy good has to offer...
Unearthly Disclosures.......2004-10-08
I read Tim Good's ABOVE TOP SECRET and was duly impressed with his journalism. Good proved straightforward and well-researched. I was surprised by the sensationalism in ALIEN CONTACT. This is not a bad book, just a vastly different one than his hallmark tome.
Good touches upon cattle mutilations, subterranean alien bases, and many of the ancillary connections to the UFO phenomenon. The best portion of the book is an in-depth look at Bob Lazar and his supposed inside information. Lazar claims to have been briefly employed at the Nevada site known as Area 51.
Lazar subsequently had a falling out with his employers and began divulging confidential information to prevent the feds from whacking him before he could violate security. His strategy was to come out with the information so that he would be immune to elimination, as a mysterious death would serve to prove him correct posthumously. Instead, he would put up with the inevitable ridicule and harassment. Judge for yourself whether you believe his information. I will tell you that I was impressed. He sounds like he understands the technology and what he says fits in nicely with all the known information that has leaked from the elite military junta over the years.
The book is a worthy read, though not as an all-purpose overview of the UFO and related phenomena. I also read Good's 2000 book UNEARTHLY DISCLOSURE, which also was highly enjoyable. In this work, Good goes very much in depth on a few otherworldly experiences reported by various earthlings. The chapters and pictures detailing Filiberto Caponi's saga are really great. Do a web search on Caponi to get his story - it really is good stuff. Without the story, the pictures look pretty fake. But add in the story and also Caponi's wonderful sketches, and it begins to sound too strange to be made up. It may be that he has captured photographs of something extraterrestrial.
There are scores of stories from around the world detailing encounters with strange creatures. These are not just delusions - there has often been physical evidence such as hair or blood left at the scene which has been analyzed and found not to match any known creature. One epicenter of strange creature sightings is Puerto Rico, where Good has professed his belief in the existance of a subterranean alien base.
It all gets to sound so crazy, but most of the leading researchers over the past decade have come to believe in alien bases and aliens among us. Either that is what is really going on or the governments of the globe have done a great job of infusing disinformation into ufology circles. With tourists going into space with digital cameras, the day can't be far off when the proof of an alien presence in, on, and around Earth is undeniable. Whatever else we discover and how this knowledge alters our civilization going forward and looking back will be monumental.
Good, leaves readers with plenty to think about........2000-09-25
This is the first book of this kind of subject matter that I have purchased. I find some of the information that Mr. Good has presented to be that of some of the "special" UFO TV programs that have aired during that last 10 years or so. He mentions lots of names and places and very interesting accounts by very highly positioned people in many different facets within our government and outside of it. Some of the information, like I said before, seems to be reaccounts of other people that have been circled around for a long time, also lots of specifics having to do with actual sightings of either, UFOs and or beings that appear to have alot in common with round-the-world type sightings. The one thing that I found quite interesting about Mr. Good's views on his book, is that he constantly is reminding his readers of the fact of "disinformation" by the government which basically lends it self for specualtions that some of this stuff is hog wash and that some is some what right on the money. Which is which? Only those people that REALLY know whats going on can determin this. One thing is certainly true about this book, is that our government spends to much time and money interested in things that they aledge that don't exist. Another thing is the fact that no matter how much an organization or any other type of corporate or public entity tries keep things secret some kind of information WILL ALWAYS leak out. All of these points are some of the important ones that Good brings forth in his book and which make his book, more that just another UFO based book. I do agree with some of the readers, that some accounts by people interviewed are a little off the wall,(specially the one dealing with religion) but then again, imagine for a second that you are trying to explain to someone from the 1940's how the internet works and how important it has becomed for us in the year 2000. They'd probably think that you're completely nuts! This book has introduced me to some information pertaining to the La Parguera Lagoon area in Puerto Rico which I was not aware of and found very interesting. Overall, it does make for some interesting reading. With that said, we must continue to view all things with an open mind and make our assesments of the information submitted and from that draw our own RATIONAL conclusions.

X-FILES, BEHOLD A PALE HORSE, MJ-12 ALL IN ONE.......2005-07-22
TO START OFF I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO BELIEVE THIS "CRACK POT BABBLE" IT TOOK ME NEAR 3YRS., A FRIEND, AND A NOTICE OF WHAT HAPPEN IN THE MEDIA AND WHO RUNS IT. SO ALOT OF THIS DOES CHALLANGE WHAT YOU WERE TAUGHT BUT IT ALSO QUESTIONS MYSTERIES THAT ARE ALREADY OUT THERE. SO KEEP AND OPEN MIND AND SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH. EITHER TO THIS BOOK THAT IS MAYBE WRITTEN BY A CRACK POT THEN THERE IT IS CASE SOLVED OR IS WHAT HE IS SAYING TRUE? IF IT IS TRUE ALL OF IT THEN WE SHOULD KNOW THE TRUTH.
THIS BOOK IS MY BIBLE.......2002-10-13
Besides "Battlefield Earth" no other book has had such a profound impact on my life. I think it is important to reveal the truth behind the government lies about the Nazi's and UFO's. However, this book leaves out important tidbits of valuable information about the hidden Government messages designed to brainwash us in everyday newspapers and movies. Also, this book completely overlooks the battels in Outer Space between Africa and China as well as the battles for control of the undersea weapons bases during the Spanish American war. However, everything in this book is completely true, just sort of hard to belive at first, just like the delightful newspaper: Weekly World News (quite possibly the only truthful newspaper left). You must forget your old way of thinking and begin to believe the truth and pass it on, otherwise we all might become victems of these horryfying conspircies. Thank you Branton, you will almost certainly go down in history as one of the greatest people who ever lived!
This Book Is A Joke.......2002-09-01
Whoever this "Commander X" is, he's obviously a comedian. This book is a joke. The author's argument wanders all over the place and is not coherent. The quality and resolution of pictures and documents in this book are incredibly poor. The pictures are out of focus and/or grainy, and could easily be fakes or pictures of something else besides what they are claimed to be. Anyone who believes this book will believe anything. I am NOT a UFO skeptic, I do believe they exist, but this particular book is a sham. Save your money!
How wild does it get?.......2002-02-19
It gets VERY wild. Books like this are hard to review actually. From what angle should you come from? I mean, here is a book that talks about reptilian aliens living in underground bases in Antarctica and colloborating with Nazi criminals and the US govt to take over the world. And careful: this is NOT a sci-fi novel.Nope, the author professes to be reporting to us the "truth". And what i am describing above isnt even half as wild as this book is.
I guess that with the aid of some wonderful herbs this can be a great read (you could wind up having a bad trip of course)...
Then again if you are a seasoned paranoiac this is just the right stuff for you.
AN INTRIGUING -- AND OFTEN BIZARRE -- POINT OF VIEW.......2001-01-23
THIS BOOK TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT. I mean here is a photograph toward the back of the book which shows a man standing on the outer rim of a craft that very much looks like a flying saucer. There is another picture of a similar vehicle with what looks to be some sort of weapon suspended from the hull of the ship. Advanced weapon at that. Unlike other UFO pictures this look amazing real so I dont know what to make of the author's claim that some of the UFOs we see were actually either constructed by the Nazi toward the end of WWII, or have been manufactured in places like Area 5l supposedly based upon the Nazi UFO designs. A zillion books have been written on UFOs being interplanetary in origin . . . that is the most popular belief among so called serious UFOlogists. But there are other schools of thought -- and the author, Branton -- has done a deservingly good job of collecting data which possibly shows that at least some UFOs are"man" made. More than half a century after the close of the war we may still be fighting the evil Hitler!

James Bond and Bruce Roberts: Better Together!.......2007-04-21
Ian Fleming was an agent for British Intelligence; Bruce Roberts wrote "diaries" exposing the secret history of the 20th Century. Kidnapping, murder, espionage, money, power--who needs fiction when the truth is so startling?
Gemstone File History.......2006-09-17
As the author of "A Skeleton Key to the Gemstone File" in 1975, on which all of the books and references to the Gemstone File have been based, I have watched with amazement how my brief summary of Bruce Porter Roberts' work has been circulated worldwide and written about by others. Six books that I know about have appeared so far. But the first book to be published which will contain a significant amount of the original Gemstone File papers will be my own: The Gemstone File: A Memoir." "Inside the Gemstone File" contains some excellent information about the relationship between Bruce Roberts' writing and Ian Fleming's James Bond novels and movies. It, together with Gerald Carroll's book, "Project Seek," provide valuable supplemental information and background regarding the Gemstone File.
Find the original documents!.......1999-09-07
The only way to know if the 350-1000 handwritten pages of Bruce Porter Roberts, given the name of the Gemstone File could be used to arrest and convict the killers of John F. Kennedy is to find them, read them, and determine where the information came from and how reliable it is.
Until the original documents are released, there is no way to know where the information came from or how reliable it is.
This is the fourth book on the subject so far, and the obvious behavior to engage in is not being followed!
Great Connections, Thoughtful, and Amazing!.......1999-08-04
If you want to read an enjoyable, indepth look at the possible truths behind the James Bond books and films, pick up this brand new book. Chapter Seven is a classic, truly a good, fun read thatgives indepth data on what Ian Fleming had in mind regarding Bond and his villians. There's convincing evidence that the supervillian Blofeld probably was based on the reallife Aristotle Onassis. The linkages are intriguing too, such as the mysterious Area 51-type location, the Hughes-clone, the Onassis-clone, the oil industry thatare evident in the 1972 Bond film based on Fleming's *Diamonds are Forever*.I'll stop there, other than to mention that right before Ian Flemingmysteriously died, he had apparently made arrangements to fly up to NewJersey to talk to his old British intelligence service buddy, Ivan T.Sanderson, according to this book. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's more history in this one book than in ten history textbooks you'll find in your local school! Highly recommended.

IF YOU THOUGHT THAT THE X-FILES WAS ONLY FICTION, THINK AGAIN!
For as long as extraterrestrial and paranormal phenomena have been investigated, the official government response to any events deemed "otherworldly" or unexplainable has been well documented: DENIAL. Not because they aren't interested in UFOs, monsters, and psychic abilities -- but because they have their own secret agendas for using this knowledge.
In this thoroughly researched compendium of conspiracies and cover-ups, the remarkable findings that have been documented (and supposedly debunked) by the governments of the United States, Great Britain, and the former Soviet Union are finally revealed, including
- Attempts by the U.S. Air Force to build a fleet of nuclear-powered flying saucers...
- The British military's files on the Loch Ness monster and other mysterious beasts...
- The Cold War race between the CIA and the KGB to create the perfect psychic spy/assassin...
- The real story behind the enigmatic "Men in Black," who terrify UFO witnesses into silence...
For anyone who wants to know the truth -- or the truth behind the truth -- Strange Secrets is the ultimate resource to understanding exactly what the government doesn't want us to know -- and why they want to keep us in the dark.

Not really very sensational.......2006-10-14
The official standpoint of the governments of England, the U.S. and former Soviet Union regarding the paranormal might not be very detailed. But appearances are deceptive. In fact, for a long time all three of did, and still do, actively investigate and document everything from the Loch Ness Monster, Men in Black, alien abductions, the alleged existence of Noah's ark, and much more.
Nick Redfern and Andy Roberts, two British ufologists, have collected a large amount of governmental documents from the three countries, and these documents clearly show how paranormal discussions and theories have been present at the highest levels of each government. And some of these documents reveal quite startling facts, such as the struggle of both East and West to find psychic spies, the interest in unexplained entities by the British government, and America's attempts to construct saucer-shaped aircraft.
Each chapter is jampacked with quotes and citations from previously classified documents, and from time to time the sheer amount of these reach such a level that the role played by the authors feel more or less redundant; in the sense that the reader gets the feeling the entire chapter is not really written but instead copied straight from the documents. This has a negative impact on the book, despite the interesting content, because official documents have a tendency to be monotonous and boring. Just because the content is exciting doesn't automatically result in exciting reading, a sad fact which most people with an interest in the paranormal are very well aware of.
All in all, the book isn't actually that sensational. Because nothing sensational is revealed, besides the fact that the world's leading governments have had, and still has, an interest in things that many people perhaps believed the governments cared nothing about. But if you're looking for a book about the unexplained and paranormal you're well advised to go look somewhere else.
Yes, there are real X-Files!.......2003-07-21
Redfern and Roberts have assembled a masterful
collection of what cryptozoological,ufological and
other mysterious material is to be found in
official intelligence files.
For general readers unaware of the interest that
the intelligence network has had in these unexplained
cases, this book is a revealing insightful look at that
topic. For those who are extremely knowledgeable
about a wide spectrum of the unexplained, they will
be disappointed if they set the yardstick on "newness"
- an objective that is not that of the authors.
The casual reader will be interested in the texture
of the material that actually intrigues the government,
and this book reviews the evidence that such, indeed,
has been a concern of spies, spooks, and bureaucrats.
The style, also, is easy to read.
Is the truth in there?.......2003-07-07
Authors Redfern and Roberts have done a masterful job of compiling government files, both British and American, about everything from UFOs to Spontaneous Human Combustion, shedding much light on what there governments really know (at least, based on files that were released to the public). Though some mysteries are solved or, at least, given plausible explanations, others still remain up in the air (so to speak).
The book could have benefitted a little by being fleshed out with outside material. The chapter on Men in Black is intriguing, but ultimately leaves some nagging questions. And a few case histories from medical literature could have helped the chapter on spontaneous human combustion. The section on UFOs is well done, but those looking for insights into Roswell, MJ-12, or the Rendlesham/Bentwaters incident will find nothing here (though, in all fairness, each of those topics have been the subject of numerous books of their own).
Despite these caveats, and the fact that this book will be disappointing to the hardcore conspiracy buff (who will, no doubt, distrust just about anything the government says), this book is highly recommended for those looking for solid answers based on genuine research and solid reasoning.
Watching the Watchmen.......2003-07-02
I felt this book was worth the time spent reading for what was left out as much as what it contained. It dwells on the reams of unclassified files from American and British archives and the strange things studied by these governments. The authors go out of their way to say that they have not uncovered evidence of Bigfoot, the Greys, or psychic powers. Considering the subject area, these disavowals keep the overall tone of the book impartial and believable.
That is NOT to say that both the American and British governments were never interested in these and other subjects. The authors dwell on actual files discussing crop circles, the Mt. Ararat anomaly, UFOs, psychic phenomena, cattle mutilation, the Loch Ness monster, and spontaneous human combustion. There is extensive quotation from such documents throughout the book, which provides an insightful look at how our governments approached these issues. In a few places the authors put forth plausible theories behind certain events, but never do they cross the line into overblown speculation.
Our society's fascination with the paranormal is as important as paranormal events themselves. This book is a great resource for someone interested in how official investigations have tackled the subject.

Particular Tales of Extraterrestrial Zoom-Zooms.......2005-11-19
Popular belief amongst those who have crossed paths with this humble yet frizzy-haired critic indicates that I am not exactly a product of an entirely Earthian enterprise. Wherever I was found, and whomever found me, was it a going most bold? How in the names of heckfire and spandex does my enigmatic origin relate to this compilation. Heyyyyyyy....depending on the fella or gal who has an opinion, the outerspace-oids are my kinda wackybells! "The UFO Files" was a pleasant zephyr of a diversion to a week that has been hectic, a deluge of missed memos gone ka-fizzle and business transactions ending in the berzerko file due to the various imperfections and inconsistencies in the average homo sapien's work habits. BUT WAIT, THERE IS A BOOK ABOUT WHICH TO BE TALKED HERE!! Oh, yeah...Some great tales:
"Ordinary Aliens"--They came from another galaxy to tell us how to pray! A mirthful romp with a potent punchline!
"Emma Baxter's Boy"--Whatchoo got in that there basement? Lemme take a looky-see..OH MY GOD IT'S A HUNGRY CRITTER..*CRUNCH*...Not much room to roam for a topic that's been addressed previously, but also not a bad story!
"Amid the Walking Wounded"--A man with a massive nosebleed. What is the correllation between the endless flow of crimson from the nasal cavity and the odd dark shapes that lurk in his peripheral vision?? Tightly told and avoids a clearly-defined explanation so the reader can draw his/her conclusions with a smirk!
"Daddy Dearest"--This is the queer cat of the collection because the plot involves a deceased daddy's ashes conversatin' like he was still amongst the living, tormenting his offspring, resulting in the rolls of the eyes and the exhausted sighs...but where do the aliens go? This story isn't parallel to anything else in the book but who cares? It's funny!
The aforementioned tales are the elite; the remainder are all noteworthy. The reason for a 4-star rating rather than a 5-star rating is that the book isn't sufficiently malevolent. I mean to state that not all aliens that wander into rural Idaho or downtown Chicago or the Hot Topic in the Mall of America are saying "Oops, I dropped something" or "Just looking, thanks, no intent to buy..or swipe...or kidnap. Got a food court?"
Really Great.......1998-08-06
This book gave fresh stories of strange happenings. I really think that this is an excellent book.

The Soviet UFO Files by Paul Stonehill.......2005-05-29
I feel I need to add a few words about the book. The publishers gave me only 124 pages to write about Soviet and Russian UFO phenomenon. I was able to include as much fascinating information as possible; to give more details and discuss cases and patterns, I would need hundreds of pages. But this is a great book, and a good introduction to the subject for those who know little about the secrets of Soviet paranormal phenomena. There are addresses of Russian and Ukrainian researchers, should you wish to contact them. Western readers will learn of such amazing stories as the Ishimba 1953 incident over the taiga; strange account of the Phobos II demise; will see excerpts from the KGB files; and follow reports of Soviet military observers who had to report starnge objects in the sky over their nuclear missile silos, submarines, secret cosmodromes...Chernobyl, Monchegorsk, Dalnegorsk,Tunguska, the World War II sightings, ancient Russian UFO sightings...the book covers a lot. Again, I am proud of my efforts, and am eternally grateful to my contacts in the former Soviet Union, modern Russia, my country of birth Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and all others. Whether you buy the book or not is up to you, but I felt I had to defend it against a very unfair review.

This Piece of ... is for True Believers Only.......2003-02-21
A womanfriend of mine, a very sweet person, who knows that this subject is (yet another) of my disreputable interests, gave me this book for my birthday. It's a very good-condition copy and it set her back almost $.... Which just makes it all the more painful....
This book is everything a work on this subject should not be. It's presentation is sensational, the 'evidence' presented is all anecdotal, and there are no footnotes whatsoever. In short, as a serious study, it's utterly useless. I mean, it could scarcely be any dumber if it were written by David Hatcher Childress himself. Simple minds will be reassured to know however, that there are lots and lots of big, bright pictures....
Seriously tho, reading this book (which incidentally takes all of about 30 minutes) did convince me that there were sufficient UFO phenomena in the old Soviet Empire to justify the interest of genuine researchers. Especially if under the heading of "UFO phenomena", you include the reactions of the Soviet Overklass. Their attempts to juggle investigating these reports, while at the same time keeping their herds of human subjects from being spooked, seem to have been at least as entertaining as our present rulers' ongoing attempt to do the same thing....
But until someone writes that book save your money, and whatever you do, don't waste it on....
THIS PIECE OF ....!

A Fun Read.......2007-02-08
This is a short book about creepy things/legends in Minnesota: UFO's, ghosts, strange lights, monsters, etc. The treatment is lighthearted, as is appropriate to such an offbeat topic. The chapter headings are illustrated with drawings which help to lend interest. There are a dearth of books about such things in Minnesota, and so this book is particularly fascinating to a Fortean aficionado living in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
If you read this book by day, you may smirk. If you read it by night, you may get the willies and find yourself glancing out the window...

Read it with a sense of humor.......2005-04-08
When I first started reading this book I found it to be a bit ridiculous and outlandish, but then certain moments began to give me pause. For example, the "bigfoot" stories were humorous but the Windigo legend and large-size bodies found in Indian mounds made me want to learn more about this subject. I also found the "sea monsters" stories quite interesting. The UFO information was fun, at the very least. I appreciated Jay's insertion of humor into the book, because some of these stories were truly nutcases or tall-tale-tellers. But it is the people who seem sincere that make you wonder. Included in the book is a compendium of all the reported UFO sightings in the state (including the only one I can recall personally - from 20 years ago - although I admit it was my parents and their friends who saw it - when they pulled over on the side of the road to watch I refused to get out of the car or take a look out of sheer terror). Back to the book - the best part was the kangaroo sightings, which I would have thought were strange had there not been a recent well-publicized case in which the kangaroo was actually captured in a barn! This book is a lot of fun for believers and skeptics alike.
