I had seen Kevin Trudeau on television discussing this book. It sounded great, resetting your hypothalmus thereby raising your metabolism. The implication was clear: you could do this easily, with teas and supplements readily available. That is SO untrue. First, you must get at least 15 colonics, eat only organic foods, no restaurant foods, no fast foods, get off ALL medications (prescription too), no sugar or sugar substitutes, only "reverse osmosis water", multiple cleanses (colon, liver & gallbladder, and candidas), AND take daily injections of human chorionic gonaditropin (hcg)! Who could follow this book? Not me!!!

while following the so called protacol might indeed result in weight loss, not many can afford it. to do this while working a forty hour week or more is next to impossible if you are to follow it exactly which it states many times is critical. this program will run easily into the thousands of dollars if done properly, basically a weight loss plan for the non working rich. to bad he doesnt mention any of this in his tv ads.

When I got the health products recommended in this book I was sure this was going to be just another fad method of weight loss. But since I started this a month ago and I'm not doing everything down to the tee from this book I have gone down two pant sizes. I'm a 51 year old woman going through menopause and weight loss is not easy, I tried the low carb, the low sugar diets and this is by far the best easiest thing I have ever done. I use to crave and think about food especially after dinner but the cravings are gone. I eat now when I'm hungry and I don't always eat right. I try to have a salad every day for greens and my exercise is walking the dogs and I drink more water than I use to but I think the biggest change is I quit the diet sodas and if I want a soda I drink regular pepsi or coke. He is right staying away from Splenda, Equal and Sweet N Low. Even if nothing more happens I have lost the two pant sizes and feel much better. If you have the 500.00 to start this process with the purchases of all the pills and teas which I don't take all the pills they say per day so I can stretch them out to last longer, it is well worth it because the next 500.00 is going towards your new clothing.

I personally found this book to be very helpful. It outlines some basic health rules that we need to keep in mind, which we sometimes overlook. It also is a really eye opener to the current realities of life. The bad thing about this book is its a bit too repetitive and it does not give you specifics about the cures,which should of been discussed more in detail,but i give it 4 stars since it has really good facts & overall i liked it.

This book is very enligthening. Yes, people do live longer today but at what cost. Degenerative diseases are at an all time high. All drugs have side effects and they don't "cure" anything. If they cured ailments why do we have to keep taking them? All drugs do is supress the symptoms and never get to the root cause of the problem. All traditional doctors do is write prescriptions and cut out body parts. A lot of Kevin's ideas can be found in other sources. There is a lot of truth to what he is saying. It is all about the money. If everyone was healthy and used natural remedies the healthcare industry would suffer greatly. Read the food labels and tell me if you know what half that crap is. Why does food need all the additives and preservaties? It doesn't - it's put in there because it's cheaper and makes the food taste good. I have been buying organic food and using natural body products. It does make a difference. It may cost more but can you really put a price on your health. I know people who go broke trying to buy all their prescriptions each month. It's common sense the more natural the better for your body. I will visit my doctor if I feel I need to but I will definitely implement as many of Kevin's ideas that I find pratical and can afford. I can't do everything in his book but I can do some of the things. The book is worth the money so please read it. People are so judgemental. So what if he is a convicted felon? He tells you this in his book. He was greedy which puts him in a better position to recognize greed. $9.95 a month to subscribe to his website is not a whole lot of money per month if you feel it's worth it. We all spend money on things that we feel are important to us. Another consumer advocate that I like is Mike Adams (The Health Ranger). You can subscribe to his newsletter for free at www.newstarget.com. He has free downloads but there is a cost for some of his books. It's not free to publish a book. Take care and good health.

I approached the best selling "Natural Cures 'they' don't want you to know about" with a healthy dose of scepticism. After all, should we really take advice on healthy eating from a convicted fraudster? But I've concluded that Kevin Trudeau is the ideal person to write about the total scam that is the pharmaceutical industry and its packaged food counterpart.
"Natural Cures......" is basically a tirade against the culture of drugs and packaged foods that have taken over the modern world. Trudeau explains how this culture of drugs and snack foods (and some other products) is undoubtedly responsible for making us sick in many ways. He goes on to offer ways to reduce toxins in the body and cure or prevent many diseases.
A lot of what Trudeau teaches us is nothing new for most of us (snack foods have numerous chemicals, GM food loses much of its nutrition, etc.) but he goes to great lengths to make us realise just how serious the problem has become, just how extensive the lobbying and coercion of politicians can be and just how misleading drug or food advertising has become. So many lies and scams are exposed in this publication that there will be at least one revelation for everybody.
After making all this clear, Trudeau goes on to offer tips and ideas - many of them beautifully simple - on leading a healthier lifestyle to clear the body of toxins and "never get sick again".
A lot of the advice is superbly simple yet often something we would never think of (Buy organic fruits and make a fruit shake every day, don't buy any product with ingredients you can't pronounce, etc.) and very passionate. Trudeau clearly practises what he preaches and has very extensive knowledge of the industries he discusses.
It's true that some of the author's ideas make him his own worse enemy. Statements such as "Animals never get sick" and "Wearing a magnetic ring will help you eliminate chaos" simply invite his many critics to knock him. But there are so many articulate, practical and genuinely heartfelt arguments and suggestions in this book, I get the impression many critics have based their reviews on their dislike for the writer.
This book did what "Super Size Me" and "Fast Food Nation" failed to do. It made me realise the dangers of my diet (as the aforementioned works also did) but it also gave me the inspiration and impetus to actually make a positive change. I've done two juice fasts and a water fast since I got this book two months ago. I've taken up many of Trudeau's ideas and I feel far better for it.
Highly recommended, if only to see what the fuss over this NY Times bestseller is all about.
A few points to clear up:
1) This is NOT a scam. There is excellent, verifiable, common sense and easy to follow advice in this book. All the two line "It's a scam" reviews are clearly fakes from people who never read the book.
2) Trudeau DOES NOT recommend Scientology. He makes reference to one author involved in Scientology. That is all.
3) For all the 'smart Alec' people who say "Save money don't buy this book and just lives healthy". What is healthy? Many of us would think of drinking milk, eating @low fat@ foods and taking medicine when we are sick. That's the way we think , and Trudeau gives a balanced argument as to why this is wrong.

Very poor. Save your money..........2007-09-24
If you absolutely must take a look at this, as I felt compelled, check it out at the public library first. Very, very poor content. He offers simpleton solutions of his own that are absurd and he's simply not an authority on the topics he mentions, like how to handle spam.
This may be a rude awakening for the author, but sounds like he's into that so here goes:
if you're going to compile a book based upon interviewing others, step up to bat and offer their credentials and quotes and reference their works, not your website in every other paragraph, and your "thoughts." You are not the authority, and no one wants to read your `thoughts.' Package those in an essay book or other format, if you like, but you're putting too many eggs in one basket, and yours are rotten.
If you're going to knock everything and everyone under the sun for advertising their products, stop advertising yours in every paragraph, too. Otherwise shut up.
And if you hate the USA so much, we'll all be more than happy to see you go. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, or `gasp' I'm sure there'd be a book about it from you to let everyone know....sigh......along with all your self promotions in every paragraph. ...
Readers: note this is worth all negative stars, but Amazon does not have that option. Do not buy, is my advice. If you must check it out, do that with a library card and on the spot, because after even just two minutes of glancing through any topic and you'll place it back on the shelf. Pure garbage. There are no cures listed here, just pure junk and links to his cure website.

Shameless pseudoscientific garbage from someone in trouble with the FTC. To paraphrase Jeff Foxworthy, "You might be an idiot if you spend good money on this book." As someone with a Ph.D. in Plant Science, it saddens me that real trees were used to manufacture this thing. If you have a need to be paranoid about something, direct it towards the IRS, the new world order, or Roswell aliens. Save your money and your health and pass this one up. If ever there was a good argument for book burning this would be it. You have to give it one star or the system won't accept the review -too bad, it should get a minus 5 stars IMHO. By the way, I did indeed buy a copy of this book - after it was 30% off at a local book store - and I do get good use out of it. I wave it around in front of my Basic Biology class every Fall semester as an example of the very real dangers associated with poor science literacy.

I bought his book in hopes of finding ways to ward off bad genetics. When I got the book I was hoping to turn to the index, look for one the problems, turn to the page and BAM! read what I needed to do. NOPE!!!! There is no index. This book suffers from poor appeal to a reader. You open it and there are just paragraph upon paragraph of words. It is NOT appealing to read and for the average person who had no time to search for information, NOT EASY to find what you're looking for. WASTE OF TREES.

It's literally sitting on the table collecting dust. I read through the first three chapters and realized that this guy would use the most insignificant and insane thread of evidence to support his claim and rebuke the established institutions. And try those remedies he mentioned at your own risk.

I was watching Kevin Trudeau on tv, he's giving away his books for free. I noticed reading all the positive reviews about this book of his, and I have yet to see one review that says his theory actually works. Did it really take the pain away? Most people are focusing in on his anti-government agency stance which he accused the drug companies of selling drugs for profit. Yea, that is capitalism. Kevin isn't exactly poor himself either, you can't own your own publishing company, and publish your own books if your not making huge profits. While it's true the health care industry is broken, in need for great reform, but unlike his theories on cures the drug industry has to go though years of testing first before it gets on the market and even after that it still is continually tested. If a drug company just pushes through a defective product it gets recalled and the company looses billions of dollars, so they do have an incentive of providing quality products. Again, I ask when you just look at simple reviews of average people who actually bought this book and there is no mention of success in using his theories, it makes ya wonder. And another thing, why would people sell his book for practically nothing, if this is a gold mine for cures that work, and certainly many have bought his books, it should be in high demand causing the price to go up. You see that with any book. This indicates as well, his theories are not all what they are cracked up to be. I did buy his first book, and I'll be testing it, and I will give a review on the results. But my first impression so far is very skeptical.

I actually had purchased this book for my husband, thinking he would like it. I opened it up, and could not put it down. Since that time I ordered all of his books reading them with new awareness. This book was incredible, and I believe it to be true. We have completely changed our lifestyles since my husband and I read this book. My daughter was cured from "acid reflux" in 3 days. My son's excema is gone in less than 3 weeks from only eating organic food. This book was not only a great read, it has changed our lives.

I was going to by this book through the info commercials that he has as it advertised free shipping. So I called the number.
As usual, with the free shipping they had add ons for additional books, which is understandable
But, when I told her all I wanted was the book and the free shipping, she told me that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to receive my book unless I paid extra for the express delivery fee. I explained to her that, in this time and age to receive something after 4-6 weeks have gone by is just a rip off and I cancelled the order
After doing a bit of homework after that situation I saw a recommendation for Mikhail Tombak books and I bought them and they are great reading for someone that is proactive in their health care......and he is an actual biologist

I've been reading and learning about natural health and nutrition for years and I agree with everything that Kevin Trudeau talks about in his books because it is analogous to everything I've already learned in the past. This isn't new information but it's like a complete compilation of all the other books that I own and more. Trudeau suggests reading his first Natural Cures book before reading this one and I agree because his first book is like an introduction to his second book. Even though the first few chapters about the government, FDA, FTC, etc. can be tedious, I believe it is a crucial part of the book because it shows how much corruption is out there in government agencies and big corporations. They aren't concerned about the health of this nation, they are just there to make money. If you don't believe that, look around... the evidence is everywhere. Some people who gave this book bad reviews look as if they've never even read the book. The saying is true, "Don't judge a book by its cover."
PS: If you think his list of suggestions on how to never get sick (chapter 13) is impossible to follow, just do what you can do and gradually add other items into your list of good health habits. You'll be glad you did!

I listened to this the other day and Kevin's um's... you know's... and mispronunciations are intrusive to his message. He and his producer should have spent more time cleaning this up for an audio book release.
Aside from production value the information in the book is interesting. It makes you test your beliefs about the FDA and drug companies, which isn't a bad thing. Yet, don't expect cited sources at the end of the book. That is a wish and prayer. It's all his advice and personal opinions.

I only give a rating of three because of the books cost. It is a short book that in my opinion shouldn't cost more than 10 dollars.
Now about the content... It does have some good information but could have been easily summed up in a few paragraphs.
The author believes and shows very compelling evidence that mega doses of vitamin C will prevent or cure H5N1. Other evidence suggests that vitamin c is safe if taken in mega doses.
In my opinion the information is credible and large dose bottles of vitamin c are now part of my preparations for a possible pandemic.
I wish the price was lower. If a pandemic begins and vitamin c helps me then the book is well worth the cost but $24 for 100 pages of large type with lots of spare space on the pages is a lot harder pill to swallow than the vitamin c is.

David Kennedy believes that government health officials and the medical community at large are in the hip pocket of big drug companies. This conspiracy has caused important, effective, powerful remedies, like vitamin C, to go unnoticed and unsupported. History will tell whether he is right about that.

I don't know if Kennedy is right about the pharamaceutical industry, time will tell. If he is right about Vitamin C and the bird flu, our family will be protected by an inexpensive, easily-available remedy. If he is wrong, we will have taken a lot of Vitamin C.

I was a little disappointed that the information in the book, I already had most of in my head, due to the fact that I'm a Linus Pauling fan when it comes to nutrition. However, if you don't already know what I'm talking about, then this book is very important to you because it offers you the opportunity to embark upon a personal oddyssey beginning with a most critical, ubiquitous nutrient your body is not capable of producing, due to genetic damage that everybody has. You read all this information about people stating that K. Trudeau has spent time in prison...If the book is read in complete, he admits this and goes into some detail about it. It is nothing he is trying to hide. I must admit that I believe Trudeau is making money from this book and his website, however he uses the truth to make money while the FDA uses lies. A huge difference. It is an excellent guide to get started down the right path! Do not shy away from this book based on reviews stating that cures are not listed. These reviews are from individuals looking for an instant cure for something and become dissapointed when the book does not provide that. The book tells you that there are cures out there that the "they" don't want you to know about. Trudeau explains why actual cures cannot be listed and that reason is that he would be making a medical claim. He cannot legally do this as he is not a doctor. It doesn't mean that there is no truth in what he says. There is indeed much truth to what he states in this book. Do not buy this book if you are looking for an instant cure and are unwilling to research into it yourself, buy it because you want to be lead in the right direction and become knowledgeable. The "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About" book has so much good information and instruction in it.
