great baby journal!.......2007-08-28
This is a great journal. So cute. I looked at and bought many of these and this is the best one. Not too much detail but enough..easy to write it. Pockets for keepsakes. Came with scrapbooking picture frames for photos. I can't say enough good things!!
This book is great!.......2007-08-27
I was looking for a baby book that would provide some versatility with what could be written. This book delivered. The pages had things like "some thoughts about before you were born" as opposed to "this is how I found out I was pregnant" - etc. It gives you a lot of room to write, but isn't overwhelming. It is cute, fun, and a great value for the price. Highly recommend!
Great overall baby journal.......2007-08-20
i was skeptical about buying this because of what i read from the reviews about it having bible versus and being a somewhat religious baby journal. i do not consider myself religious by any means and none of the versus or quotes bothered me at all. yeah it does say a few things about heaven and being gifts from god and such but its nothing too extreme. if you're a pessimist when it comes to religion then you might not approve. it had places for everything i had wanted to remember for my daughter, and overall i like it very much.super cute.
Very cute with great pages.......2007-08-13
I have enjoyed this book very much so far. There are all the "good" pages for baby memories and none of the frivilous ones, plus it goes out a few years.
WARNING.......2007-08-07
Please be warned about shipping if you need this item fast!!! Normally when I have chosen super saver shipping, they actually ship the item within 1-2 business days of the order if it is in stock. This appears not to be their policy anymore, so if you want the book fast go to another web site!!!
Book Description
This one-of-a-kind guide to balancing motherhood and work is based on actual journals kept by a group of IBM women during their visits to the company's employee lactation room.
It all began when IBM manager Cate Colburn-Smith sat down in the company's employee lactation room, shed a few silent tears, and wrote the following on a paper towel: I'm a new mom and today is my first day back at work. Is anyone else using this room?
Right away women responded, and the paper towel was eventually replaced by a series of notebooks, in which women offered one another advice and support on juggling work and a newborn. Based on the original notebooks, The Milk Memos is a heartwarming, encouraging (and often hilarious!) guide to working motherhood.
It's one of the most existential moments any woman will face: sitting in a small room tucked away in the bowels of your company, pumping breast milk for a child so close to your heart-yet, at that moment, so far away. The Milk Memos records the voices of mothers who, while struggling with the difficulties of blending their two lives, prove that women don't have to choose between work and family. Their thoughts on how it can be done will inspire women everywhere. This invaluable book weaves the actual Milk Memos journal entries with information-packed sections on such topics of great concern to working moms as:
- finding a private place to pump breast milk at work and establishing a routine that you can maintain despite your busy workday;
- establishing the right daycare solution;
- getting a decent night's sleep with a new baby so that you can shine (or at least glimmer!) during business hours; and
- negotiating flextime, part-time, or a job share with an employer.
The ultimate gift for any new mom who will soon return to work, The Milk Memos is destined to become a classic on the parenting shelf.

Really hit home!!.......2007-09-28
I really can't say enough good things about this book. As a breastfeeding mom who just returned to work a few days ago, this book was a godsend. I've never read a book that was so informative, touching, and hilarious rolled all into one. It helped me to be prepared for the difficulties of working and pumping that I would face, and helped me to get organized enough to make sure I had everything I needed to make working and breastfeeding a success. It EVEN gave me the courage and information needed to request (and receive!) a place to pump privately at my workplace when I had previously thought that I was going to be resigned to pumping in the women's bathroom. I also appreciated the book's non-judgemental tone: it presented breastfeeding as the best-possible solution for feeding our babies but it did not scoff at those women who find themselves struggling with it (as many of us have) or not interested in doing it long-term.
A must read for nursing moms .......2007-07-30
Like other reviews says, it's an absolute must read for nursing moms. When I read it I felt as if I were reading my own life/feelings. The book will make you smile, laugh, and cry.
Milk Moms Unite!.......2007-07-09
I am a working, milking mom. I read the Milk Memos while pumping at work and love it. This book has made me laugh out loud and brought tears to my eyes. It puts into words so much of what I (and other new moms I imagine) are feeling once we return to work after maternity leave. I read the book every day while pumping and feel that I am part of the milk club! The book is full of encouragement for pumping moms struggling to balance the demands of their babies, bosses and [...]!
A Must Buy! It's like a Girlfriend's Guide to breastfeeding while working........2007-06-15
I'm an attorney who nursed my first child for 2 years. Now I'm nursing a second. This book captures dead on the trials and tribulations of working while nursing. Pumping while on business trips, leaking milk onto your blouse, nursing while on a conference call -- it's all in there! I'm buying it for all of my pregnant working moms.
A must for all new moms.......2007-05-25
This is a must gift for all new moms. Fantastic.

Customer Reviews:
No space for Dads........2007-08-21
This book is great if you are going to be a single mom. I was shocked that there was no space for Daddy. There is an entire page dedicated to the mom's family tree. There is also 3 pages for the mom to detail her career, her favorite things, her goals, her friends...but again nothing that addresses the dad. I would like for them to at least include pages for dad and give people the option of tearing out un-wanted pages.
Love Love Love this book!.......2007-08-07
This book is perfect for recording your pregnancy step-by-step. It is fun to update it after every Dr's visit. I also enjoy the journal pages where there's plenty of room to record your thoughts and feelings. This book has space to keep track of how you're feeling physically and emotionally through your entire pregnancy. I recommend to anyone who's expecting.
Valuable keepsake........2007-07-13
I got this book as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I am not big into keeping journals and doing scrapbooks from scratch. This wondefully laid out and guided "journal" is just right for someone like me. I wrote almost everything about my doctor's visits, put sonogram pictures, then baby shower mementos and later baby's first pictures, and hospital tags. I think while you are pregnant it is a nice way to spend your free time waiting and dreaming of the baby. Once baby is here it is so hard to keep any kind of journals about a baby's first year. At least for me. I am looking forward to flipping through it every year for my son's birthday.
Great book!.......2007-07-06
You won't be disappointed. Well, I wasn't. It's true that there isn't anything for the dad to fill-out, but it's an easy fix.
Good product but not perfect.......2007-05-31
I like this book- the cover is nice, the quality paper is good. However, I wish the different sections were divided more clearly with dividers. Also, I wish there were questions for Dad to fill in. All in all, I'd buy this again.

Customer Reviews:
Fantastic!.......2007-10-02
This is so much better than any baby book! I hung this calendar right on my refrigerator and this would easily remind me to mark down milestones as my child grew from month to month. It's adorable! Just bought a second one for new baby!
Cute but wish it had a little more room/space to write in.......2007-09-22
I was looking for a keepsake book/calendar where I could record all of baby's firsts, journal some milestones, etc. With my first I received a free calendar from Nestle/Good Start that was awesome, but they do not have them available anymore. With this calendar, there are cute stickers and a little space for a 4x6 photo and some fill in the blanks ("I like...I don't like...I'm learning...etc.) each month. However, there just isn't enough room for me to put everything that I'd like down. The space for each of the days of the month is only about 1x1" square, and if you put a sticker in it, then there's hardly any room at all to write anything. Also, with the Nestle calendar, it was a spiral bound that had pockets each month, which was nice. It was made more like a book, instead of a wall calendar. I could put some cards, photos, etc. in that one, whereas this one, since I don't have it hanging up, just gets stuck in a drawer.
Needs a 13th Month.......2007-08-24
Enjoyed using the calendar, but I don't understand how there can be stickers for the baby's first day home and 1st birthday without 13 MONTHS! We used a color copier to make our own 13th month.
Baby calendar.......2007-07-15
The calendar is adorable! It could have been a little larger to fill the days with baby's accomplishments. Plus, it should have been a 13 month calendar because I started it the month my baby was born, but it doesn't go far enough for her first birthday. Overall image of calendar is very cute.
baby calendar.......2007-07-12
nice little baby gift for busy first or repeat moms. Not intimidating as a keepsake project...I'm going to keep a couple stashed away for unexpected gifts.

True life, and what if it was you????? .......2007-05-25
Annie's Diary
Edited by: Dr. Beatrice Sparks
This book is based on a girl's diary that was faced with the worst experience of her life and was edited by Dr. Beatrice Sparks.
Annie, the main character of this book was madly in love with sports. She had been playing at one of her soccer games just like any other day and kaput she had gotten side tackled and limped off the field. While she was sitting on the bench this guy named Danny whom she had never met bothered to ask her if she was alright. Her eyes brightened; she thought she was in love Danny's looks had charmed her.
Annie never normally cared what she looked like for school but she was determined to make a good impression of herself to her mystery guy. Bell after bell every chance she got she would roam the halls looking for her prince charming. One day they finally ran into each other. He asked her out on a date. She was ecstatic and said yes. Her best friends were very supportive over her and agreed that it would be a bad idea for Annie to tell her mother about the guy she had met.
They began dating and Annie thought that they were destined to be together. They would always spend time alone together but then when it came to Danny's friends he never spoke a word to her. He acted like he didn't even know her. He was beginning to act stranger as the days went by.
Would Annie change her opinion and personality all over a guy who she thought she was destined to be with?
This was a great book it really got me involved in my reading I never wanted to put down I just wanted to keep reading and find out what happened next. This book brings a lot of suspense to me when I was reading and helped me realize what could happen in my own life. I would recommend this book to teenage girls or anyone who loves reading books based on true stories or diaries or to anyone who loves to read romance stories, or loves a good book that you can't stop reading.
True Story.......2007-04-25
This is a true story of a teen who is going to have a baby. She tells her mother; her mother is loving and understanding and compassionate. Will she keep the baby or give it up? This true story tells how she dealt with it. I really enjoyed it.
Teenage Pregnancy.......2007-02-23
Growing up around teenage mothers, this book really helped me to understand what they are going through. Anybody, child, parent, sibling, friend, who has a teenage mother or pregnant-about-to-be mother in their life, you should definitely read this book to get a better understanding of their feelings and emotions and how they still do have options.
Annies baby.......2007-02-07
In my opinion this is one of the best books i have ever read in my whole entire life
It is just so touching and once you start reading it you truly cant stop because you get so caught up in the moment and so into it that you actually feel sorry for annie and you fell as if you know her.
This is a good book
Shameful.......2007-01-06
Beatrice Sparks is the author/editor of a serious of "anonymous" teen diaries. They are meant as "warnings" to children. In fact, they are not based on real diaries and the only one that actually was, she used about 10% of the journal entries and added a Satanic theme which horrified the family.
Now I am aware that children should be taught such things as drugs are bad, teenage pregnancy is not preferable, don't kill yourself etc. However, I take offense when presented in this manner. Children learn best from the truth not extreme propaganda. I also take offense that many libraries (especially school libraries) list this book as non-fiction, when in fact it is a work of fiction.
Book Description
Every new parent wants to know what the infant's experience is really like. In Diary of a Baby, renowned infant psychiatrist Daniel Stern brings us closer than ever before to penetrating a young child's consciousness. In alternating sections of evocative prose, representing the baby's own voice, and explanatory text, Daniel Stern draws on his research findings and years of clinical experience to re-create the baby's world. Diary of a Baby, with a new introduction by the author, can be read alongside Dr. Stern's book on the motherhood experience The Birth of a Mother.
Customer Reviews:
a little too verbal for a baby.......2007-09-17
This author pretends that he is speaking as the baby and its ridiculous. He is a baby with a HUGE extensive vocabulary and is also very poetic. At times these baby narrations just become too silly to even take this book seriously.
A great gift for new parents.......2006-03-09
As a pediatrician, I love this little book and have given it to all my friends when they had their first baby. Dr. Stern is a recognized expert on early childhood development and teaches at Cornell. In this book he has done something quite unusual. He succeeded in weaving the pearls from his academic work into a delightful, readable book that any interested person can enjoy. This book makes it fun to understand your child better.
every new parent should read this.......2005-08-31
This is an amazing book. It tells the story of what life is like from birth to age 4 from the point of view of the child. I give it as a gift to every new parent I know because I believe that the most important quality in a parent is empathy -- the capacity to understand the inner experience of their child. It is written by a highly respected researcher on child development and is also useful for graduate students in psychology to get a handle on difficult concepts in a pleasurable way.
A Beautiful Mind.......2002-12-17
Dr. Stern's prose is beautiful. He presents, in near poetry-format, a fascinating look into the mind of an infant. Starting at 4 weeks and continuing to 4 years, he brings you into the world of a child. I couldn't put this book down! (And this is notable, given that I am a new Mom and have more than enough to do!)
lucid presentation of latest infant development theories.......1996-11-24
Daniel Stern is a world expert on infant development and
psychiatry, as well as an iconoclastic and creative theorist.
This book is a lucid and poetic presentation of his theories,
accessible to the layman and full of treasures for the
professional. It is the form of a set of small vignettes from
significant stages in the devellopment of a little boy, Joey.
The poetry is necessary because much of the concepts refer to
pre-verbal stages of development, and it works very well. This
book is a good companion read to _The interpersonal world of
the infant_ which presents the ideas from a technical point
of view, with the supporting scientific evidence.

Customer Reviews:
really cool.......2007-03-13
this journal is really cool. i loved the pregnancy journal, i used that as soon as we knew we were pregnant and i loved the format! so when i heard there was a baby one, i was excited to get it! it is a great place to take notes on your baby as he grows. a 'normal' journal just doesnt work when you are a new mother! so this is a really great item!
Great Journal.......2007-01-19
This Journal is the best I found! I've used the exact same one for all 3 of my kids! What I love about it is it's not a daily journal, yet not a weekly journal. You put your entries in every 4-7 days! And there's great reading in between to keep up on the social, emotional and physical developments of your baby week by week! I never felt "overwhelmed" trying to fill these journals out. The space to write varies in length from 1/4 of a page to 1/2 a page which also helps reduce the stress of having to write a FULL PAGE everytime!
Good for 1st time moms for 1st few weeks.......2007-01-11
This is a nice book for a first time mom in those very early weeks when she is probably very nervous and unsure and might want a neutral source to refer to instead of listening to all the advice of well-meaning friends & family. After the first few months I rarely looked at it aqain though.
Love it.......2006-11-07
I love this series. It's light reading, but has enough information. As a new mom, you don't always have the time to read a book this size, but its broken up into day to day reads, so you can either read one day per day or on week at a time. I got this as gifts for all my friends.
Wishing I had not bought this book.......2006-10-04
I bought both this book and the toddler book to write my childs memories down. I started using it for both my kids and realized that there was very little space to write things down when I needed to. I ended up writing over the text which I just stopped reading because it was not helpful at all and unorganized and was covered much better in other developmental books. To add to the frustration, there are cutesy quotes on EVERY page, and when there was a break in the develpmental jargon, they filled the space up with huge pointless graphics that they did not have the courtesy to make light enough to write over! Why call this a journal at all? I am cutting out the pages I did write in and starting over with another Journal. Dont waste your money.

Customer Reviews:
pregnancy journal.......2007-09-17
I was hoping that the journal had more question in it. It has a lot of space to write your feelings and such but not a lot of lead in questions. The pictures are beautiful and the book is nicely bound. Easy to use and has nice thick writing paper.
Fantastic for mothers and fatehrs to be!!.......2007-08-08
I bought this book for my friend. I chose this book because of the indepth writing that the mother would be able to do. Most of the other books like this were only a few pages, this book had over 100. A mother and father could write all of their feelings and the emotional roller coaster that goes along with being pregnant. Overall, this is a great book. Also, the pictures are amazing.
I like it!.......2007-04-05
This book is great. The pictures are very beautiful and there is plenty of writing space to jot down how you're feeling and what you're thinking. A great keepsake for your baby, and could be passed down to a daughter (or in-law) when they are expecting so they can compare their feelings to yours.
My Pregnancy Journal by Anne Geddes.......2007-03-29
I purchased this journal for my daughter-in-law who is expecting her first baby. I was impressed with the journal and she loves it. She likes to "journal" anyway, so this was a perfect fit for her. The illustrations are outstanding. We were both very pleased.
Nice looking.......2006-11-04
I bought this book because it had the nicest pictures inside and did NOT have any tips or organizing anything like that, I already have pregnancy books for that. I like that there is a lot of space to write but I'd really like a blank book with nice pictures for me to write day to day thoughts in, without the book telling me what to write (like this does). I have not found anything that is not a regular plain journal so this works I guess.

Customer Reviews:
Fun and Breezy and won't bog you down..........2007-08-31
I got this book when I was already four months along, and I love it. There's just enough space for comments and notes, and I love the week-by-week journal pages, with spaces for pictures. Of course I don't have pics of my belly for the weeks before I knew I was pregnant, but I included pics of myself taken during those weeks, or pics of what was going on during that week. It's so much fun filling it out, and I know that I will complete this one precisely BECAUSE it's so much fun. The design is fun, too, with the pages for each trimester "sticking out" more, just as your belly does. This will be a fantastic keepsake for me and my baby. The only thing I wish it had (and I noticed another reviewer mentioned the same thing) is a space on each week to write the dates for that week. I wrote it in myself, but it would be nice if there was a spot for it.
I highly recommend this book for any pregnant woman, no matter how far along you are.
The Belly Book.......2007-08-12
The Belly Book prompts a mommy-to-be to enter important details about the pregnancy like foods that make you sick and foods you have to have. There are also places for a picture of the pregnant belly from week to week. I can't wait to see the finished product once I have the baby in February!!
I LOVE this book!!.......2007-08-03
I bought this book at the bookstore. I wanted to find a journal-type book to document my pregnancy. My memory was starting to go, and I didn't want to forget anything! Thank goodness I got this book. My memory is gone now! :) I love this book. There are so many different areas in it. The beginning has a spot for your name, age, and which pregnancy this is for you. It has three divisions: first, second, and third trimesters. The tabs are colored, too. Each section has questions relevant to that trimester. For example, the first trimester: Where and when I took the home pregnancy test and First reaction when I realized it was positive. There's a spot to put your doctor's name, your starting weight, and your plans for delivery. There's a section in every trimester titled Cravings & Aversions (food you love and hate at the time). There is room for pictures on every page. There are pages strictly for ultrasound pictures. You can write something on every page. It goes week-by-week. I just LOVE it! I would HIGHLY recommend this book to every pregnant woman out there. It's a great way to document your pregnancy, and a great momento for the child it's about. One day, I'll give this book to my baby. I hope she'll appreciate it as much as I do. :)
Not What I Expected.......2007-07-31
Although this book seemed like a great idea I felt as though there was not enough space to really write my own information. I really wasn't a big fan of it, although I did use it. It would have been easier to create a scrapbook of my own.
Sweet book!.......2007-07-26
This is a great book, but I would recommend getting it as early as possible in your pregnancy because you will have a hard time filling it out afterward. It's a lot of fun!

Customer Reviews:
It made me happy..........2007-06-01
I don't know why people say this baby book looks cheap because it is actually quite nice. This is great for any type of family including single parent, gay, egg donor, surogate mother, etc. All pages were included and anything you don't like you can just remove from the book because it's put together with screws. Practical and simple book and it's cute too. The price is right and there aren't may books like this on the market.
And Then There Was ME.......2005-07-12
This is a great memory book for same sex, adoptive, surrogate or other types of parenting models. I really like the flexibility the book gives us and think our child will be very happy to have something to look back on that truly represents his loving family.
Very Disappointed.......2004-09-18
As a single parent, I was quite excited to order this baby book....but I was horribly disappointed when I received it. Since it is hardbound, it's difficult to remove the pages that are not relevant to me. In addition, the paper was poor quality and the printing looked as if it was produced on a home ink-jet printer. The screen printing on the cover looked as if it was also done at home.
I found one that was much higher quality, offered as much flexibility for 1/2 the price. The $40 price tag on this is just ridiculous.
While I do think there need to be more baby memory books for alternative families, they do need to be high quality and offer the flexibility to remove irrelevant pages. My situation didn't speak to any of those covered in the book.
Also, let's be realistic....do you really think you're going to fill this out until your child is in 12th grade?
Great Book for Singles!!.......2004-04-07
As a single parent, I wanted to have a baby book for my son, but I didn't want it to have huge gaps when it came to questions about his father. With "And Then There Was Me" I can add or delete whatever information I want. I am able to keep an ongoing chronical of important events in his life up through age 18! I love this book and I think it is the perfect solution for alternative families.
great baby book.......2003-08-01
It is a great baby book for non traditional parents. It covered everything I wanted in a baby book and more. I love the fact that you can add more pages. It covers the child until the age of 18. :)
