Definitely for Beginners.......2007-09-21
This book is not for the IT Professional but is perfect to get a beginner up to speed on CRM quickly. I have used this to successfully train some of my staff when Microsofts training became to confusing.
Excelent for understanding our CRM Users.......2007-04-10
Im a specialist trainer who needed to explain IT tasks about Dynamics CRM 3.0 to my students, so I started purchasing this book "for dummies". This book is an excelent reference because you learn about user's point of view (none technical issues as installation or customization only day to day operations). Learning about Office Outlook allows better undestanding of MS Exchange Server, right?
The book is full of excelents tips and some technical recommendations.
I recommend to read this book before reading another excellent book as is "Working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0".
Good book with few faults.......2007-01-06
This book is well written and illustrated. The author's style is comfortable and demonstrates a real familiarity with his subject. Especially helpful are the Tips as CRM has a few "gotchas" that can frustrate and mislead the unwary.
Because CRM technology is very flexible, it is difficult to write a definitive book that encompasses all the possibilites; but the authors have probably come as close as possible. Several colleagues have also indicated they liked my copy of this book far better than the "official" documentation.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is venturing into uncharted CRM waters for the first time.
Great for putting under a table leg. Not good for anything else.......2006-12-08
I've been meaning to write this review since I bought the book just after it came out. It is so bad, that it deserves some comments.
In a nutshell, it's a waste of money. It's clearly the first book on the subject that works through the drop down menu choices and tells you what to do.
If you're a beginner in CRM you may find it useful, but if you're expecting much substance try elsewhere. You can click through the program for a few hours and know as much about the product as reading this book.
Not recommended, unless your table needs some support.
Helpful for new Microsoft CRM user.......2006-11-08
This book is really for the new Microsoft CRM user and want to acguire the basic knowledge to use Microsoft CRM 3.0., like myself (with some background of CRM concepts, plus Microsoft Office outlook skills, it'll be so simple.) It is comprehensive and helpful to follow the step-by-step instruction of how to use the microsoft CRM 3.0 that describes in the book.

If You're Jumping Ship from ACT!, this is for you ! .......2007-08-28
Lon Ornstein might have co-authored a Dummies' book, but he's no dummy. His company is a well-known third-party developer of CRM enhancments - first with the ACT! product line and now Outlook 2007/BCM. Like all Dummies' books, this one is easy to read and understand, and gets right to the "meat" of using BCM. Highly recommended if you're trying to make the switch from ACT!, or if you need to extend the capabilities of Outlook 2007 for a small-midsize business.

What a Great Wedding Planning Book.......2007-08-06
This book was a life saver to me as I planned my wedding . It covers everything that you can think of from invitation etiquette, to wedding ceremony set up, to how plan your reception. I found this guide to be indispensable! It offers loads of sound advice, direction, and suggestions--it gets down to the specifics like what the difference is between a Pomander bouquet versus a Nosegay bouquet, or how to set up a Chuppah etc.. The authors give fantastic advice on how to handle all kinds of tough wedding situations and dilemmas. For those that have no clue and not the foggiest idea of where to begin to those that have a good amount of wedding know how-- this book will be an enourmous amount of help!
Wonderful Tool.......2007-03-20
I love this book! I purchased this book back when I first got engaged because I have never even participated in a wedding before and had no idea where to begin. Every time I go somewhere that we'll be talking about wedding stuff (which tends to be everywhere even though I don't always feel like talking about the wedding), I take it with me. Someone will ask me a question, and I'll just look it up. This book is wonderful if you need a place to begin or if you just need a reference book for all the crazy etiquette that weddings entail.
Excellent wedding source.......2006-09-04
This book was the number one resource for us while we were planning our wedding. We had many wedding magazines and books, but this was the by far the best. Eventually the others were pushed aside and we relied on this as our only source. There are many great tips for weddings of all types and sizes. The authors gave great advice and tips while offering humor (which is well-needed during the stressful times such as narrowing down the guest list). I highly recommend this book to couples looking to purchase one source to cover it all! Thanks Laura!
words to the wise .......2006-03-17
It certainly covers a lot of ground, evenly and fairly concisely.I am an older male and I read a lot, but knew absolutely nothing about weddings. My partner suggested I buy the book, wise woman .If you are a man and feel trepidation around this largely female undertaking, read this book, and read it well.It is up to date and as a core virtue is not attached to selling you something you do not want or cannot afford. It only asks that you be satisfied and happy with your informed choice.Besides covering the rather effete items such as dress, and who goes where when, the nitty gritty on prenups, how to handle the caterers and who gets paid when, are also included. Read it again as the wedding details and decisions start to fall into place and you will be of some help to yourself as well as her.Occasionally you will be asked what you think.Occasionally you will have to weigh in to save your sanity. These things do need planning input by guys, and its a life learning experience -for most of us pleasantly, I hope!If you put yourself out of the loop, you really are a dummy. Together you actually can do it, and this is a good exercise.
Wedding planning made easy!!!.......2005-10-09
It is a very handy reference even for a small wedding. Gave a lot of great ideas for the wedding and reception. The wedding etiquite advice included in this book was also very helpful!

Making It Work.......2007-04-04
Dr. Kate uses real time language to make relationships come alive and be more than just some treacherous rite of passage. Her advice is specific, exploratory and helpful in making relationships living breathing things we need to care for in order to make them blossom and grow, or not.
Good resource on relationships .......2006-09-24
This book is very well written. It is written in a way that both male and female can read it with comfort. Best of all, you do not have to read it from beginning to end. For instance, my girlfriend and I have been dating for awhile. One of my weaknesses is communication (especially with a girl). I skipped to Chapter 11, without having to know Chapters 1-10. Dr. Kate Wachs talks about almost anything on relationships. You name it, she has it. Sex, Communication, Marriage, Is it real love? Is he/she compatable? In short, you cannot expect to have a perfect relationship by only reading this book, but I can guaranteed your relationship will be stronger and last longer if you practice what's being said. The bottomline is, this book is definitely worth reading if you want to learn about relationships.
Relationship for dummies review.......2003-07-05

Easy and Good, but NOT ALL ANSWERS!!!.......2007-08-09
I liked this book, but it isn't a book of answers. However, if you are a newbie to online dating, it helps a lot to read this book.
Most online daters have no clue what they are doing. The successful ones that you see on TV (doing eharmony commercials) are the lucky ones. That's why this book helps. It first gives you the low down on online dating and why it is completely different from real world dating. Since it is so different, everyone needs to take a different approach to it. Surprisingly, not everyone does.
How many times have you winked at someone and not recieved a response? How many profiles have you read that say, "I don't know what to write?" How many emails have you sent out that just didn't work?
Well, this book explains why these things happen in online dating.
However, it isn't a book of answers. It won't tell you what the perfect profile is, but will give you hints on how to write one. It won't tell you what the best picture is, but it will tell you not to post the same one twice. Treat it as a guide and you will be fine. Treat it as "the way" and you're in trouble.
For me, I was very excited to try online dating and would go online everyday to find new connections. After reading this book, I realized online dating is not a quick and easy way to find the love of my life (like eharmony advertises), but it is more of a long haul and it requires more work than I thought. This book really helped me realize that I needed to work at online dating much like real world dating.
Fantastic Guide.......2006-08-13
I couldnt put the book down, there is some fantastic insights into improving your success in online dating. great book
For People Uncomfortable with Computers?.......2005-11-23
Most of what this book says is either common sense or easy to find out by using an online dating service. They sound uncomfortable enough with computers that they seem to expect readers to prefer reading a generic description on paper to reading the online descriptions that the dating services provide.
Their idea of backing up email is to print it out.
They say on page 183 that meeting in person gives away your anonymity completely, then on page 237 they describe how to meet in person anonymously. That is fairly typical about how carefully they write.
Instead of this, I recommend buying Katz's I Can't Believe I'm Buying This Book.
Why you should buy this book..........2005-11-12
The "xxxx for dummies" always does a good job on breaking down the "hard-to-grasp" concepts and makes it easy for people to understand the complexities that can be involved. The dating scene can be tricky these days and Online Dating for Dummies did a great job. Look for some humor to keep you floating through chapters. [...]
PURE UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION & MORE!.......2004-02-11
As a fellow relationship/dating author and advisor, I'm always looking for new information on this dynamic field. I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of this book because of the thorough nature and quality of the "Dummies" series. After a complete reading of this book where I took a lot of notes, I must say that it does an outstanding job of covering online dating and other related topics.
You get a certain type of quality when you buy a "Dummies" book. I didn't expect this one to be a great literary read or even one that I'd call "entertaining" (except for the hilarious cartoons in the beginning of each chapter). This book is simply stuffed with practical information and helpful tips. I do a lot of research on "Online Dating" issues and this is the best single source that I've found. If you ever come across any of my advice anywhere, you can bet that it won't be out of alignment with what is in this great resource.
This is a book that every man or woman who chooses to play the "online dating game" to win (find a good love partner) should have in their personal library. It's really that good.

I think everyone who has been married should have a chance to read this book. It is so easy to read, so encouraging and to the point. The authors are fantastic. Because of what I have read in this book I have changed, on my own and in a very positive way. My spouse and I talked, and are going through marriage counseling. Something we would not have done if I had not read this book.
Thank you "for dummies" for making life simplier.

A Very Helpful Book on Dealing with Marriage Problems.......2000-03-25
I've read a number of self-help books on marriage, and this is the best by far. The "Dummies"-style organization makes the book extremely user-friendly. I can find useful information on just about any aspect of marriage--whether it's dealing with in-laws, disputes over money, love-making issues, or dividing up household chores.
Drs. Sue and Steve Simring are not only experts on the subject of marriage and skilled writers. They also bring the in-the-trenches wisdom of their own thirty year marriage to the table. Reading "Making Marriage Work For Dummies" gives me a real sense of what it takes to keep my relationship strong, and deal with problems as they come up.
Highly recommended!

If you think dating is a simple process--meet someone, ask him or her for a date or get asked out yourself, try not to come off as a drooling moron, then arrange to get together for a second date or cut your losses and work to meet someone else--well, lucky you. For many people, it's far more complicated than that, and Dr. Joy Browne addresses those complexities in Dating for Dummies. Exactly how do you meet a potential date? How do you present yourself in the most favorable light? How do you negotiate that first date? (One interesting story Browne tells is of a couple who negotiated a weekend together, deciding whether or not they'd have sex, and under what conditions they'd consider marriage and children--all before their first date.) And how do you proceed from there? The process still comes down to chemistry, but Browne shows how many ways there are to make sure you get your best possible chance with Mr./Ms. Right.

Dating Tips for Dummies.......2007-08-16
This book is very comprehensive just like the other books in the `dummy' series. The book consists of 8 parts with several chapters in each part. The first 7 parts go through all the essential for a person to get started on their dating. The last part is more a collection of common sense dating tips listed in groups of 10, such as 10 tips on do's and don't of dating and 10 ways to know your in love etc.
When I first approached this book I thought it would be a collection of facts and pointers without much explanations. Kind of like a cross between a dictionary and an encyclopedia. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this book really does start from the beginning. If begins by analyzing the dating scene to help the prospective dater know what to expect.
Next it starts at the most important place for anyone to start. Self-confidence. Without self-confidence your dating is doomed to failure.
The author, Dr. Joy Browne, realizes this and presents confidence building exercises and knowledge to differentiate between real and false confidence. Next, you learn how you can improve your `social self' , getting into the right frame of mind to meet people and have fun.
Chapter 4 takes this exploration deeper, helping you take a look at some basic psychology. This will help you avoid self-sabotage later when you are dating or trying to build a relationships. The next 3 chapters (5-7) focus on the mechanics of dating, from approaching to setting up a date to acting appropriately on a date.
This book is very comprehensive in the quantity and scope of the dating tips it contains. If you are having trouble getting started with dating then this book is a great place to start. You will learn the basics for long-term success in dating and relationships as well as useful dating tips to get you out and socializing.
Best Dating Book I've read.......2007-07-27
This book is awesome!! Frank and detailed advice on how to date--from where to go for the first meeting, the second date, etc. How to be clear if the person is not for you, warning signs, etc. Will save you lots of time in regard to the common mistakes and thinks of things that I wouldn't necessarily consider on my own.
Goes into great detail but is clear-headed and realistic. I recommend it to my friends, clients and anyone wanting to date or currently dating.
A waste of time.......2007-07-25
Book was too long. Too much information and advise was very outdated! Seemed like she was living in the 50's or something. Some very basic things were questioned. I was confused after reading half the book.
Off the chart waste of time........2007-02-15
Full of contradictions and recitations of conventional wisdom. Her "You cannot date if you are separated" rule that is her mantra throughout the book is contradicted in her "rebound" chapter where she says: "I think formulas are a bit rigid here".... Come on, NO dating within one year of the divorce????? Life is short- our hair is falling out andor turning gray, our brain cells dying and our skin shriveling. Date when you want to date- wait maybe one day, one year, one decade, it's up to the indivdual, not some pop doc.
The "never" and "don't" lists are either inherently obvious or are horrible attempts at some humor.
Abandoned Guy.......2006-08-17
Hey!, my wife left me 2 years ago, I've been through therapy and taking prozac, my therapist says it's ok to date women, even If I'm still married, but Dr. Joyce says you MUST NOT???, come on!, she has no clue about my life and my feelings, she has no right to come and tell me good from evil, bad from wrong, she's not my mother!. Besides that, I like her advice on the reason for approaching someone, get in mind all you want is to get to know the person and see if you both get along, don't think further than that objective. Some useful tips, but some seem too needy and nice for a guy!, the moment you let a woman know you are interested, the moment she losts interest in you!, I've experience on that, believe me.
Book Description
We humans are pretty clever. We’ve mastered fire, invented the wheel, calculated the age of the Universe, sent people to the Moon, built machines that think, and cracked the genome. So you’d think that with all our smarts, somebody would’ve come up with a surefire formula for raising kids. Maybe that’s because every child, like every parent, is an individual, and no two parent-child relationships are ever the same. So, you can give up any notions of being a perfect parent. But, you can learn to keep the big mistakes to a minimum and make the parenting enterprise easier and more rewarding for your children and you. Which is where this book comes in.
Whether you’re child is a newborn, a teen, or somewhere in-between, Parenting For Dummies gives you the scoop on parenting basics. From dealing with a crying baby and potty training, to building self-esteem and talking with them about sex, it offers a gold mine of up-to-date advice and guidance on how to:
- Learn to communicate with your kids
- Develop a good relationship with your kids
- Keep your kids safe and healthy
- Help your kids grow up to be good people
- Keep your cool and control their behavior
- Discipline constructively and with a minimum of stress
- Build self-esteem in your children
- Avoid committing the parenting sins your parents taught you
Experts Sandy and Dan Gookin—she’s the parenting expert for Parents Magazine and Working Mother Magazine and he’s a father of four—avoid the psychological hype and medical terminology and give you the straight poop on all aspects of child-rearing, including:
- Speaking and listening to kids
- The importance of being consistent
- Keeping a sense of humor
- Dealing with babies
- Childhood growth and development
- Health and nutrition
- Kids’ changing physical needs
- Developing a good person
Written by parents for parents, Parenting For Dummies gives you the know-how and skills you need to be the parent of healthy, happy kids.

Like The Rest of Series, This Book Will Save You Money.......2006-02-05
Like all of the books in this outstanding series, this text serves as a forum to express again the FOR DUMMIES Books' most valuable concept: simplicity in presentation and info.
Distilling parenting down to its most value sticks and stones, this book runs the gamut from how to potty train to how to deal with the "I don't eat dat" problem with little ones.
Althought not an end-all book, I would suggest that parents will do no wrong STARTING with this book when looking for learning on raising a child.
Must have!!!.......2005-08-05
I bought this book while I was pregnant with my first child. He is now three and a half and an awesome kid! We always get compliments on how well he acts in restaurants, other people's homes, movie theaters.....you get the picture. This book made me think about things that I never would have thought of, and I recommend it to everyone who is about to start a family and even to a few that already have kids and they can't handle them! My son is now a wonderful big brother to a baby sister and I could not be happier! I am ordering this book right now for a neighbor expecting her first.
Much better books out there.......2004-02-17
We've bought other ...for dummies books before and have been quite happy. But this book was a huge disappointment. Maybe because the topic isn't easily handled in the typical ...for dummies format. Also, the author you can tell is used to writing computer manuals. The book is often preachy and rarely helpful. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
Wow! What a lifesaver!.......2003-01-06
Who needs credentials! This woman has 4 boys and her experience really shows. Excellent advice, great tips. My views on raising my kids changed after reading this book. Don't pass up this book. It's a great read!
this book was my support system.......1999-07-03
I had found this book to be one of the best, simplest and most supportive parenting books around. at the time my son was 7 -12 months, I was pretty much without a support system, and this book was my lifeline and my bible to parenting. It's wonderful.

Divorce for Dummies.......2007-03-13
I found this book very interesting. I am not divorced nor married, but the book provides a wealth of information to know before entering into marriage. Protecting oneself is key and I feel Divorce for Dummies opened my eyes to what I did not realize.
Covers Many Topics.......2006-04-19
This book hit on many topics and is a good reference book to use throughout the various stages of your divorce. Touches on a wide variety of things and generally answers some questions you might have. Some advice in this book I did not see in other divorce books such as what to do about debt in both of your names. Outlines what to do about credit card debt in both names as well as mortgage debt in both names. Mortgage debt is harder to get out of your name even if your spouse is awarded the asset. You are both still liable for mortgage debt until it is paid off or refinanced. Even if your divorce decree says that your former spouse is responsible for paying it. Book tells you how to communicate with credit card companies in regard to protecting your credit.
This book is worth reading because you will probably learn at least a few things you did not previously know.
thorough, reliable.......2005-09-18
Divorce for Dummies is a thorough overview of the divorce process and ways to make it easier and less expensive. I know the authors from interviewing them for my Internet radio show, [...] and other articles, and I know they are very careful in the resources and information they present. I also believe they really do have the consumer's best interest at heart.
As a consumer educator myself, I know some of the information -- especially related to finances -- is crucial. I've talked with so many people over the years who have been burned because they thought everything was taken care of with the divorce decree. Unfortunately, that's not the final word on how things will work out! That is especially true with regard to credit. If you have joint accounts PLEASE read their warnings or you may likely get stuck with your ex's bad credit for years.
Even if you have a great divorce attorney, he or she won't have time to cover all the topics in this book with you, so I recommend it to make sure you're well-informed. One more caveat -- make sure you get the 2nd edition of this book, which is the most recent!
OK for general information, not for individual states.......2004-05-31
I prefer books that are state specific such as Texas Family Law Guide, Louisiana Family Law Guide, etc.
Good overview.......2003-07-25
Overall this book covers a lot of important topics with regards to the whole divorce process with good explanations and definitions. While some areas could have gone into more detail and perhaps provided some worksheets or step by steps guides, I don't think any (critical) issues were left out. While some other books I've seen stated the obvious and left you thinking "well duh"...this book had good information throughout.

If you're planning a wedding, accept it now--there's a ton of details mucking up the happy path to the altar. There is so much on your mind that it's easy to freeze up and forget everything, or go crazy and paper the house with cryptic post-it notes. "After all," say authors Marcy Blum and Laura Fisher Kaiser, "a wedding is a complex affair to orchestrate, and keeping track of all those details, phone calls, expenses, and decisions is a job and a half." Organization is key.
Wedding Kit for Dummies breaks the whole planning process down for you with a series of questions, charts, and spreadsheets. Intended as a companion piece to Weddings for Dummies, this book does not help you word your invitations or tell you where your step-grandmother should be seated. Rather, it helps you knowledgeably talk with your stationer (How much extra are the vellum invites? Should the date be written out or numeric?) and helps you chart who will escort whom down the aisle and when.
Weddings can be ridiculously complicated, and almost everyone involved--especially the bride--is running on high. Wedding Kit for Dummies aims to lessen the stress with its comprehensive checklists, examples of contracts (for the caterer, hotel, flowers, DJ, etc.), and Excel spreadsheets (invitation list, RSVP list, budget tracker). Included is a CD-ROM that prints out hard copies of the lists and runs the spreadsheets (you'll need Windows 95 or later or Mac OS 7.5.5 or later to use the CD). And since so many couples plan on using the Internet, Wedding Kit for Dummies includes the Web addresses of many wedding-oriented sites. --Dana Van Nest

Disappointed.......2007-02-14
I ordered this book again, since the first one I purchased, the cd was broken. The seller, returned my money and told me to keep the book...but what I really wanted was the cd. So I ordered the book again. Now, I have the cd and it is only good for 30 days.
Almost requires the other book.......2006-02-25
I thought Wedding Kit For Dummies would be Weddings for Dummies plus the CD, it's not. It actually references stuff that's in the other book as if I'm going to buy both.
All in all it's not bad, it's just frustrating.
HONOST.......2005-09-12
The book I purchased was no in the condition which it stated and this seller was very honest about it. The seller gave me the option to have a full refund since the book did not come with the CD. I'd buy from this person again.
BUYER BEWARE.......2005-01-20
The CD doesn't include the software that it says it does. You have to hunt in the book to find the information that the software included is TRIAL versions only (you can get full versions for a "nominal" fee). It says it includes excel and excel documents which are simply NOT present on the CD. DO NOT BUY!
Don't waste your money.......2004-10-12
If you know how to read, you're too smart for this book. Marcy Blum's approach is 1) condescending and 2) geared toward a big-budget crowd. The CD-ROM is difficult to use and the anecdotes in the text are tired. I'd suggest buying another dozen roses and saving your money.
