Excellent resource for preparedness.......2007-10-01
I found this book to be extremeley helpful in its content and uses. It was the most informative book out there and was very detailed. There were many ideas presented that I hadn't even thought of, and I found that it was easily readable. I am so much more prepared in my home for any emergency and I am so much safer after reading this book. This book presents a step by step guide that saves you from hours of research and headache. I wish I had found this book sooner.
Interesting book, but unconvincing and poorly written.......2007-09-27
I hate to be too critical of this book, because I did enjoy reading it and I think it is well worth the money, but I hope Spigarelli reads the customer reviews and hires a good editor before turning out his second edition. There are many, many careless errors in the book that make me believe that some of the instructions may be just as careless. For instance, "approximate" and "proximate" are not interchangeable. The information regarding food storage, particularly the sources of information (e.g., researchers at BYU) reveal the Mormon origins of much of the information. The medical information seems to me (as a layman) to be just plain absurd. For instance, he recommends storing 200 Phenergan tablets (that's a lot of nausea), but only 100 tablets of "acetamine" (??), a couple vials of Pitocin (I suppose we'll be inducing labor at home) and 50 Valium tablets (including two vials of the stuff for injection). I could imagine going to my doctor and asking for a prescription for all those little goodies. My guess is that he'd prescribe something else for me (i.e., a good anti-psychotic). Of course, there's also a recommended arsenal of various types of guns and thousands of rounds of ammo (probably for guarding all the prescription drugs...). Nope, maybe I should be giving it two stars instead.
Great Book.......2007-09-25
I thought the book gave a lot of excellent information. I am an old Boy Scout so there is a lot of information in there. I have supplimented the book with a Survival training book that talks about plants, shelters, general survival type of information.
I liked the book.
Disorganized and unrealistic.......2007-09-01
I bought this book on the strenght of other reviews, and that was a mistake. It is disorganized and unrealistic.
Realistically speaking, we should all aim to prepare for a Katrina-type disaster: one that affects a wide region, with the severe effects of total lack of services lasting 2-4 weeks. This book wants me to prepare a year's worth of stored food. To fulfill this plan, I'd have to move to a farm so I could grow food, raise animals, and have enough room to store the amount he reccomends. It sure isn't going to work in my one-bedroom aparment.
The overall organization of the book is awful - no planning involved in the order of chapters. The first 2/3 of the book are food storage and preparation. If you really want to learn how to grow crops, raise animals, grind your own flour, make your own leather, can/pickle/smoke/preserve your own food - you're better off buying books on those specific subjects. This one goes over them in enough detail (and bad writing) to be boring, but not enough to actually teach you how. Even more ridiculous, he details so many preparations that require electricity. If we have roads and electricity and whatnto, probably I'm not living off my stored foods anyway - and how many of us can set up our own solar power grid sufficient to run the freezer, household appliances, water heater, well pump, whatever?
And then the final 1/3 glosses over preparations for a 2-4 week disaster when it should be focusing on them. If we have a Katrina-type problem, I need to be able to take care of myself until services are reasonably restored enough to either live reasonably, or get out of the area. And if the disaster affects the whole country and there is nowhere to go.... Aside from buying your own farm/ranch in the wilds, living off solar power, etc, you're out of luck.
So, long story short, if you're like me - if you want to be prepared for an act of terrorism, a flood, a fire, a hurricane or tornado, that sort of thing, buy the books below instead.
Organize for Disaster: Prepare Your Family and Your Home for Any Natural Or Unnatural Disaster
PREPAREDNESS NOW!: An Emergency Survival Guide for Civilians and Their Families
Overall Good: Beware the Dietary Advise!.......2007-08-02
Spigarelli has put together a great how-to book and I recommend it highly. Where he falls short is supporting an out-dated food pyramid. A healthy diet becomes even more important after a catastrophe.
As a master's degree candidate in nutrition, I found glaringly inaccurate statements regarding animal proteins (meat and dairy) as they relate to a "proper diet". The book has been updated since its original date of publish, but the chapters on food choices seem to have been left untouched. I recommend tweaking his recommendations away from the large amounts of animal proteins and plus up the grains/legumes/vegetables and enhance the supplementation to boost B12 and D. The Standard American Diet (SAD) is leading us to death/disease/discomfort/ailments at very young ages so why continue that diet after a crisis when you may very well have no access to medical assistance? That simply does not compute.
I shared the dietary chapters with doctors, teachers and colleagues and they reacted just as I did. "What year was THAT written?" was said quite a bit. One of the many roads that have brought us to the precipice of crisis is the misuse of land and water toward keeping animals and the pollution derived therefrom, not to mention the negative effect of animal proteins to the human body. Even after a crisis, I cannot imagine the giving of precious land and water over to livestock when crops will sustain us.
Again, this is a very good book and Spigarelli should be commended on a job well done. I would just like to stress the fact that you should inspect the food recommendations more closely as the "conventional wisdom" regarding the food pyramid over the years is off base.
Book Description
How to Love Your Retirement shows the baby-boom generation how to plan for, and succeed at, this statge of life, whether relaxation, travel, education, or even a new occupation is the goal. Packed with helpful, entertaining stories and real-life advice from hundreds of retirees who are making the most of their post-work lives, this honest and useful guide covers such topics as how to pick the best time to retire; learning to live with a spouse 24/7; staying fit; starting fresh in business, love, and family; traveling; going back to school; and more.
Customer Reviews:
Very enjoyable!.......2007-07-24
This book is a nice break from all the retirement books where the authors fill the pages with theories about retirement based on their interviews with retirees. This book includes simple straightforward comments from the people who have been there without any editing or analyzing. A quick read, some good advice, and some good laughs. I am going to buy it for my friends!
A little bit disappointing.......2007-05-09
The book is basically a series of short paragraphs written by many ordinary people describing how they had handled retirement or giving their advice. The advice was very basic, and seemed a bit random. I was hoping for new ideas on ways to fill the time, but this approach did little to fulfill that need.
Not Just for Boomers--for late bloomers, too! Stimulating!.......2007-04-19
This lively book will rev up the creative energy of anyone who wants to do "something else." The best of the "How to Survive" series, it's grounded by interviews with hundreds of folks who probably could not qualify to author a "How I Failed Retirement" article like the one published in "Fortune" magazine by former Chrysler CEO, Lee Iacocca. I can attest that "How to Love Your Retirement" can kick-start creation of an exciting retirement plan. I pressed this book on my attorney husband, 72, who had expected to follow in his father's footsteps and maintain a vigorous practice until he was 93. Seriously. Nonetheless, he has been quietly musing about retiring from complex criminal defense to do "something else." Major hurdle? Could he find anything equally engaging that did not include solving other people's very big problems. He found "How to Love Your Retirement" fun to read and loaded with solid, specific information, ideas and inspired advice, including timing, new work, money, travel, domestic adjustments, moving, new activities, and staying in shape. This book energized and focused his plans for himself-- and us.
A Fun Look into Retirement.......2007-01-09
This book is full of fun antidotes of those that have been there and are doing it. It is not a "How To" book but a "Tell It Like It Is" book. I loved the quote where it says, "Now I will have the time to figure out what I want to be when I grow up." Purchase one for yourself and one for a friend that is headed for retirement and they will love you for it.
A Perfect Gift.......2006-11-25
I gave this book to my Uncle who was retiring and after reading it he couldn't stop raving about it. He said he got 25 great ideas from the book that he would integrate into his retirement. What's great about the book is that it doesn't require reading the book cover to cover; you can dive in when and where you like and still take away wisdom and wit. I highly recommend this book as a gift or for the soon to be or recently retired.
Book Description
Are you queer or questioning? If you are, this book is for you. Do you know someone who might be queer or questioning? If so, this book is for you, too. Or are you someone who just wants to learn more about what it's like to be queer or questioning? This book is a great place to begin. Discovering that you, or someone you love, might be GLBTQ is a revelation. Accepting it is a process. One thing that can help that process is information. This book can't answer all of your questions or counter all of the misinformation, misconceptions, myths, half-truths, and outright lies you might have heard about being GLBTQ, but it's a start.
Customer Reviews:
Great for teens!.......2007-03-16
This is an awesome book. I bought several that I use with a group of high school students. It's very informative and easy to read. Also has step-by-step suggestions for coping with issues such as homophobia, harassment, and coming out. An invaluable resource.
Dealing with Teens? Get this!.......2004-12-06
This book is a must-have for any Library shelf that serves teens. It is written in a style appealing to teens and includes short, one or two page summaries of ways to cope with the many issues teens face when questioning their sexuality. It also provides excellent, current resources for teens, from crisis lines to 'safe' (moderated) chat sites. I especially enjoyed the section dealing with 'coming out' to parents and family. It provided experiences from other teens who have (the good, the bad, and the ugly), and also possible responses parents might have when a teen tells them he/she is gay. In addition, it listed possible, respectful ways to respond to less-than-accepting parents. A fantastic compilation of stories, insights, and resources for teens.
wonderful book.......2004-05-24
i remember being a pre-teen, leafing through many books written for young women that followed an "our bodies ourselves" format. these books were ok, but never what i was really looking for. i didn't want information on how to ask boys to dance or how to apply lipstick- i wondered where the chapters entitled "when you don't feel like the rest or the girls" or "but what if i don't like boys?" were.
what a great help it would have been to have this book! the format is "hip" but not patronizing. while this book affirms the importance of pride and self-respect in queer or questioning young people, it also devotes pages to the concerns and dangers many queer teens face (safe sex, how to begin dating, facing intolerance). transgender issues and stories have their own chapter, as do homophobia and coming out. descriptive paragraphs are broken up by small autobiographical blurbs by young people describing their experiences with the topic at hand, and by smaller essays.
this book is a great place to begin for youth who are GLBTQ, questioning, or who would like to better understand their queer peers and friends.

Customer Reviews:
Highly Recommended.......2007-07-20
I am a clinical psychologist working in a multidisciplinary pain treatment clinic. In my view, this book wins best of breed for a pain coping resources self-help book. I would put it in the running for best of show in self-help generally. Dennis Turk, PhD. is a leading expert in the subject of chronic pain in general and what works in pain coping resources in particular.
Like other good pain coping self-help books (e.g., "Managing Your Pain Before It Mangers You" by Margaret Caudill, MD, PhD), it does an effective job of covering the range of what has been learned on helping chronic pain patients help themselves. Important areas of pain coping resources are effectively addressed (e.g., effectively adopting the role of your own pain expert; the extremely important, but frequently overlooked, issue of pacing; learning to effectively moderate sympathetic arousal; reducing fatigue; how interpersonal factors effect pain and visa-versa; managing fatigue; changing thoughts and behaviors; maintaining gains).
Unlike other books on these subjects, this book not only provides understanding and information. It is structured as an effective self-help tool. Although I do encourage my patients to use this book as part of their treatment with me, I strongly disagree with the reviewer above who suggested that the book is not effective to use "by yourself" and should include a "user manual." I have found the truth to be quite the contrary. The user manual is right there. The book is structured into ten lessons that conclude with well-conceived exercises to effectively encourage adoption of proven resources. Many of my patients pick up the book and effectively apply it with little or no assistance from me.
For others, I often make use of the book a focus of therapy. I hasten to add that for many with chronic pain the first issue is determining if the cost of addressing/managing pain appears worth the benefit. For many gaining the motivation to help self is the biggest challenge.
If you are looking for self-help help with chronic pain, I highly recommend this book. I also recommend "Managing Your Pain Before It Mangers You." In addition, I recommend this book to healthcare professionals who regularly, or occasionally, treat individuals with chronic pain, as an effective summary of current clinical wisdom on these subjects.
The Pain Survival Guide.......2007-04-19
If you are dealing with chronic pain, this is an excellent book to add to your arsenal of pain management tools. It's taught me how to become my own pain management expert and how to really rest, relax and pace myself. This is one of my favorite books and I keep referring back to it. Highly recommended!!
Absolute Must!.......2007-04-11
A. All living humans need to get this book.
B. Tell your friends.
C. This web site is great!
Thank you!

Should have had this book 5 years ago!.......2007-01-09
Regardless of the cause of your pain, mine has had me low for 5 years and I wish that someone had told me about this book right from the beginning.
I've learned a lot about the high cost of giving into pain by remaining inactive, and about the need for balance in everything, including activity and rest. Everyone with severe and chronic pain should have this book.
For us with chronic pain.......2006-11-10
This book is written for those of us with persistant chronic pain. Written in the form of a workbook, it forces the reader to take a hard look at attitudes and behaviors that may worsen the pain levels. The book offers a perspective on the importance of "pacing" one's activities in a way that maximizes energy levels and minimizes pain levels. I would highly recommend this book for anyone coping with chronic pain.

Customer Reviews:
An invaluable resource.......2007-10-11
This book was a perfect guide for me when I needed it most. Being diagnosed with a brain tumor has got to be one of the most daunting things a human can be faced with. On top of the shock, you'll quickly realize that the medical community can be a frustrating and inefficient entity to deal with while you're trying to make the most important decisions of your life. This book tells you how to take the bull by the horns and navigate through the murky waters of bureaucratic red tape. I followed the book's advice on keeping a folder with all my medical records and I took it to every appointment. While I was laying on a gurney waiting for an angiogram, a potentially dangerous procedure, I asked why it was taking so long to get started. The doctor said the hospital had misplaced my MRIs. I said that I had a copy on CD in my bag (something Dr. Zeltzer says everyone should do). His eyes popped open wide and he actually used my CD for the procedure. The nurse later told me that no one had ever done that. The book put me in control at a time when decisions like choosing the right doctors were literally a mater of life or death. My benign tumor has been removed for two and a half years and my life is very normal. I will never forget what this book meant to me.
A book of hope.......2006-09-04
This is volume 1 of a two-volume set. Buy them both. Just like the second volume, it is an essential "navigation" guide for patients with one of the deadliest cancers. The book is logically organized, gives all the necessary information and almost nothing is missing. I am brain cancer patient and I recommend this book. This book and a book by Ben Williams, Surviving "Terminal" Cancer should be on the bookshelf of every GBM patient. This book gave me hope and the strength to endure. Mine arrived with Dr. Zeltzer's dedication, "Knowledge is power". How true!
Brain Tumors - a complex diagnoses made simple.......2006-05-06
This is a good book for anyone who needs to understand the complexity and diagnosis of a brain tumor. It will give you the facts to help you or a family member make intelligent decisions when faced with this medical diagnosis. My identical twin brother was diagnosed with a rapid growing tumor that was affecting his vision. We are both software engineers not doctors. We need facts with absolutes. Not probabilities. He was admitted to the University of New Mexico Hospital, Department of Neurosurgery. His wife and 1 year old daughter were at his side waiting for the operation. I found this book at the medical school bookstore. I thumbed through it and could not put it down. The book carefully explained in detail exactly what the medical staff was saying. It was not a solution for the emotions we were going through but at least I understood the complexity of the brain and impact of tumors. He had two major operations, including a craniotomy. Thankfully, he pulled through. That was a year ago. He will be on medicine from the tumor operation for the rest of his life. But he is alive. There are other books I might suggest for the emotional impact on a family, but this review is just for the understanding of the medical diagnosis. If you or a family member has been diagnosed with a brain tumor I suggest this book.
Absolutely essential.......2005-08-14
If you or a loved one are newly diagnosed with a brain tumor, this is the book you must read immediately and use as a reference throughout the process of dealing with the disease. I wish that it had been available when our daughter was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme early last year. With a disease of this complexity, you and your family will ultimately be responsible for coordinating treatment options, anticipating and managing side effects of medications, etc. To be an effective advocate you need to learn as much as you can as quickly as you can, and this book is the place to start. The medical care that our daughter has received has been uniformly excellent, but a vigilent and informed caregiving team is a vital component in managing her disease.
"Surviving Terminal Cancer" by Ben Williams is also excellent -- both books are required reading.
The quality of the information available and the dedication of the people who provide it is truly amazing. Dr Musella's website, www.virtualtrials.com, is another essential resource, particularly for information about the many new developments in brain tumor research and treatment. I believe that there is much reason for optimism, and that an empowered and informed community will play an important role in conquering this terrible disease.
A must-read for anyone dealing with a brain tumor.......2004-12-22
This book helps guide you through the turmoil that comes with the diagnosis of a brain tumor. Unlike most diseases where you go to your doctor and let him / her make all of the decisions, dealing with a brain tumor is very different. You will be dealing with up to 20 different types of health professionals. You will be given choices that your doctor doesn't even want to make for you. Decisions that you make can greatly affect your chances of being a long term survivor.
You need all of the help you can get.
This book was written by one of the best neuro-oncologists in the world, drawing not only on his professional experiences dealing with his own patients at some of the most prestigious brain tumor centers in the USA, but also on his many years of participating in online support groups and answering questions from my website, Clinical Trials And Noteworthy Treatments For Brain Tumors.

In a valuable guide for women who have just been diagnosed with breast cancer, Dr. John Link helps sort through the confusion and the fear, by explaining such things as how to get a second opinion and how to understand a pathology report.
Particularly valuable is Link's step-by-step description of how breast cancer is characterized, or staged, according to tumor size, hormone receptors, and other factors--and how that affects prognosis. As a breast cancer specialist at Long Beach and Orange Coast Memorial hospitals in Southern California, Link knows the medical jargon and what it means. Although his writing style is at times a bit jargony and difficult to read, a breast cancer patient will willingly read and reread every word. The book also includes useful chapters on diet, exercise, herbs, and vitamins; managing the side effects of treatment; healing's mind-body connection; and organizing medical records and keeping a personal journal or log.
Ending on an encouraging note, Link writes, "You should know that most women today are cured of breast cancer. They undergo treatment, become survivors, and go on with their lives. But having breast cancer is certainly a wake-up call to many and may be for you. Life now has added uncertainty." This step-by-step manual helps you navigate the uncertainty and become a survivor, both physically and psychologically.

The Breast Cancer Survival Manual.......2007-10-04
I just had this mailed to a friend who was recently diagnosed with very aggressive Breast Cancer. She is only 41. When I was 41 in 2000, I was also diagnosed. This book helped me so much! It is informative and easy to understand. It is not a dry read, like other books on this subject. Most importantly, it is not a downer. While this book is realistic it is also upbeat. I tried reading Dr. Susan Love's book and it was so depressing I could only read one chapter.
Practical, helpful information !!.......2007-10-01
I bought this for my sister who was recently diagnosed with cancer. This is an easy read, carefully written, practical step by step what to expect, helps walk the patient through the process. Highly recommend this above all other books on the subject.
thorough.......2007-07-27
When someone in my family was diagnosed, I wanted to know everything about it. I wanted to be an informed and hopefully helpful person in her life and to understand what the doctors were saying.
If you're someone who likes to know the details, this is a good book.
Breast Cancer Survival Manual, Fourth Edition.......2007-07-12
As a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient, I found this book to give excellent updated statistics and information to contribute to my personal knowledge of the disease and how to properly make decisions on my treatment options using today's most current protocols.
Review of The Breast Cancer Survival Manual.......2006-02-24

Impressed with Sinus Survival.......2007-09-18
My name is Chris Martin and I am the author of Having Nasal Surgery? Don't You Become An Empty Nose Victim! Having read a number of sinus self-help books in recent years, I must say I am very impressed with this one.
Dr. Ivker was the past present of the American Holistic Medical Association and it shows! That said, what I appreciate about Dr. Ivker's Sinus Survival book is the holistic treatment focus in it and the extensiveness with which he explores the treatments. Dr. Ivker goes into great depth regarding a number of different holistic treatments, be it nasal irrigation, candida or fungi treatments, vitamins and herbs. Like Sinus Survival and based on my own experiences, my book recommends that the very best approach to remediate sinusitis and allergies is to utilize a holistic approach. You cannot treat your sinuses any other way - or you miss an interdependent piece of the puzzle.
Antibiotic treatment cannot and should not be the sole focus for treating a sinus infection; you need to treat the whole body. I can tell you affirmatively that as an empty nose syndrome (ENS) sufferer - who also suffers from sinusitis and allergies - my nose is far worse if I do not exercise during the day. My nose and sinuses feel worse if my diet is off, if my sleep is poor, or if I do not irrigate my nose with pulsatile saline irrigation. I am grateful Dr. Ivker recommends nasal irrigation for healthy sinuses in preventative fashion, as I find that to be beneficial in my own situation. If I do not irrigate, I find myself much more susceptible to sinus infections. Pulsatile irrigation is literally like my lifeline for sleeping better and breathing somewhat better, too.
Like Dr. Ivker, my brother-in-law is a GP, and I will share this book with him. It is wonderful to see a GP promote a program that can treat the sinuses very effectively and offer so many helpful tips. Kudos, Dr. Ivker, for this tremendous book!
Stop suffering right now........2007-08-17
If you suffer from sinus woes, look no further, for this is the book. I'm not biased, an idiot, or short-sighted. I'm not buddies with the author. I've just been all over the map looking for sinus cures (like you?), and happen to know that this is it.
This book is, hands down, the best way to get over even the WORST sinusitis. OK, granted, its purchase is just the beginning of a journey. It is not a magic pill that you wad up and swallow. You'll have to read it and probably change your lifestyle (I'm talking dramatically), but this book holds all the information you need to get you on your feet again. I carry it around with me all the time, consulting it like a monk doth his bible. It is the best compendium of sinusitis information on the market.
I know you think your case is unique. That you've already tried everything. That you are worse off than everyone else, and that NOBODY could possible BEGIN to understand what you go through every day with your nose. Believe me, I was there. But, I promise you're not alone, and that there's a way to get better. This book and Dr. Ivker can help.
If you're suffering, do yourself a favor and just stop. Get this book, right now and start getting better.
Life changing.......2007-03-13
I followed the principles in this book. Fantastic. I suffered my whole life with progressively worse and worse sinus infections. If you suffer like I did, don't hesitate, get this book. You'll be doing yourself a favor.
Can you tell I really like this book!.......2006-09-23
"Sinus Survival: A Self-help Guide" by Robert Ivker (isbn: 1585420581) This `survival' book is amazing. (In contrast to "The Sinus Cure" by Debra Fulghum Bruce, which in my opinion, okay, I'll say it: "sucks"). I've owned both books for five+ years now. In short, the `survival' book gives me plenty of `knowledge meat' to work with, while the `cure' book didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know. The `survival' book, on the other hand, I refer to every year, and learn (or relearn) more than I did before. Dr Ivker, is a sinusitis sufferer himself, went the extra hoops beyond MD to become DO and has many self-help options in here. He includes a thorough exploration of what EMT-physicians consider, and/or exams to possibly do, or surgeries, etc and why. True to his word, I've followed his steps and have become someone who regularly had two or more sinus infections every year, to someone who has been infection-free for five and counting. And for those earlier unfortunate times while suffering from one, I still gained immediate relief (beyond the antibiotics) from some specific steps he recommends. Can you tell I really like this book! Lol's
A Roadmap to Relief.......2005-02-17
I had suffered for years with sinus problems - taking antibiotics, losing time from work, feeling depressed and hopeless.
I adhered to the program and enjoyed a two-year remission from my sinus challenges. I fell "off the wagon" so to speak and am suffering again for the first time in years but I am dusting off my copy of Sinus Survival and following these steps once again.

Real Women, Real Solutions.......2007-10-04
The great thing about "Survival Tips for Women with AD/HD" is that it's a handy reference guide for and by real women with AD/HD. Having organization issues? Laundry getting you down? Just flip to the chapter and subheading (clearly identified in the Table of Contents) to quickly look up tips and strategies that work for other women.
Terry Matlen does a great job of keeping the book light-hearted and positive while still covering tons of challenges that women with AD/HD experience. Keep "Survival Tips" close by and make good use of it!

How to organize the disorganized.......2007-06-10
This book is a great help for those of us who are organize challenged. The tabs in the book seperate different issues so you do not have to keep earmarking pages or putting in post its. It was so helpful to me, my therapist asked to borrow the book so she could read it and recommend it to other patients.
Tips--like title.......2007-05-13
I expected a more cohesive book on survival, so I was really disappointed at first. But there are some really good tips here. They are somewhat random, but are like "best advice" from women living with ADHD.
Great resource.......2007-05-11
I have found lots of great suggestions in this book. I like reading about what has worked for other women with ADD. My favorite came from a professional coach quoted in the book. It's called "5 Easy Things." Basically, you pick 5 easy things to do and just do them. For instance, my kitchen table is piled so high with mail, we don't eat there. Every time I pass the table now, I pick out 5 piece of mail that I know I can toss without thinking about them too much. Or, if I see something that can be put away, I do that.
Some reviewers have complained that the book isn't well-organized. I think it's perfect for me. It's not meant to be read in order (which is good, cuz I rarely read that way!). This book is about TIPS, so if that's what you'll need, you'll find them here!
Good for people without ADD?.......2007-01-29
Like a few of the reviewers have already mentioned, I thought that the book would be spiral bound with tabs. It's not - it's just a paperback book.
1. The author wrote very little and mostly compiled suggestions from women with ADD.
2. There are too many chapters to keep track of.
3. The suggestions are vaguely grouped, but not particularly well. There are a number of repeat suggestions. I had to take notes outside the book or I'd never be able to find the useful hints.
Like most of the women-oriented ADD books, the "women" oriented material is really "mother" or "home-maker" material. This is particularly complicated by the fact that the quotes aren't organized at all, so I get suggestions about how many hours a day I should spend cleaning the various locations in my house when I only have 8 hours available outside of work. Plenty of women are mothers but plenty of women aren't.
Read "ADD-Friendly ways to Organize your Life" instead. It's *packed* with useful suggestions, and it's in a very ADD-friendly format. After that, you could try this book.
