Book Description
Giants. We must face them. Yet, we need not face them alone.
This profound look at the life of David digs deeply into the defeats he suffered, and the victories he won, as he faced the giants in his life. When David focused on God, giants tumbled. But when David focused on giants…
he stumbled.
Goliaths still roam in our world. Debt. Disaster. Dialysis. Divorce. Deceit. Disease. Depression. These super-sized challenges swagger and strut into our lives, pilfering our sleep, embezzling our peace and robbing us of our joy. And while these giants try to dominate our lives, we know what to do! We've learned what David learned, and we do what David did. We become God focused. We pick up five stones. We make five decisions. And we take a swing.

Overcoming circumstances.......2007-09-29
I was given this book, it was a good read, but the information wasn't anything new, nor was it very impressive. It was a smooth reader, but almost to the point of beating a dead horse. Now, I am not putting down the work of the Cross or Jesus or the Holy Spirit or even King David. It's just the same ole story with a different author. I did find some of Max's antedotes and case histories of his own family interesting and the view of the Rainbow, that was most interesting.
Would I buy the book, no. Would I recommend someone else to buy the book? Not really. There are better books for the money.
Here are some examples: They Smell Like Sheep by Dr. Lynn Anderson
True Discipleship by Kossler, The Holiest of All by Andrew Murray, Power Filled Living by R.A. Torrey. These are just a few.
I've found when we are facing the giants, if we focus on God, Center ourself on Him, in Him and then look outside the box, so-to-speak and allow the Spirit of God to lead us to someone else that is hurting more than ourselves, God will work out our problems usually by the interaction of our neighbors.
In Christ we pray. Amen.
Learning from David's Triumphs and Mistakes.......2007-09-21
Max Lucado is known for his encouraging books, and this book is no exception. Here, he studies King David, both the good and the bad, to show us how to face the giants in our lives.
The ultimate lesson is simple, when your focus is on God, giants fall. Yet he uses stories from first and second Samuel, both the good and the bad, to show us how this played out in David's life.
The book works as a biography, showing us the events in David's life as they happened. While most chapters are a self contained lesson, it does allow us to see how one event often led to another.
Obviously, we see David fighting Goliath. But we also see him hiding from Saul, his friendship with Jonathan, hiding with the enemy, keeping his promises, falling into adultery and murder with Bathsheba, and watching his own children spin out of control. From this we learn the importance of friends and family, but ultimately the importance of putting our focus on God.
Max Lucado very rarely brings anything new to the table. That's certainly the case here. There is very little I haven't heard before. But he always puts such a fresh, encouraging spin on things, I always see things in a new light. And even when admonishing us, he still does it gently.
I set this book down reluctantly when I finished. My heart was encouraged, and my focus was where it needed to be, God. If you need some help remembering where your focus needs to be, this book is for you.
Max's Best .......2007-09-17
This is absolutely the most enlightening and funny book I've ever read from a Christian author.
This wonderful book is deep enough for an elephant to swim in, yet shallow enough for a child to wade in.
That describes Facing Your Giants to a T.
Like all Lucado books, awesome.......2007-09-06
An insightful tie to old testament events around Davids life and life for us today.
Wonderful book!.......2007-08-26
Story of King David's successes and failures confronting the giants in his life, and how we can learn from them. Many challenging question in study guide at the end of book.
Book Description
Between 1993 and 2000, a series of groundbreaking experiments revealed dramatic evidence of a web of energy that connects everything in our lives and our world—the Divine Matrix. From the healing of our bodies, to the success of our careers, relationships, and the peace between nations, this new evidence demonstrates that we each hold the power to speak directly to the force that links all of creation. What would it mean to discover that the power to create joy, to heal suffering, and bring peace to nations lives inside of you? How differently would you live if you knew how to use this power each day of your life? Join Gregg Braden on this extraordinary journey bridging science, spirituality and miracles through the language of The Divine Matrix.

Such fools these mortals be........2007-10-03
If there was a "Divine Matrix" allowing everyone to wish what they deeply desired into existence do you think a just and sane "Divinity" would let a bunch of somewhat evolved apes loose with such an ability? Thank God I do not have such power because I know in all honesty that I am not evolved enough and wise enough to use it well. But those who want something for nothing, those who are still infants at heart wishing their mere wish and every need to magically be granted by Parent in the Sky or latest pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo hash of how reality is will flock to buy this latest mystical puff-piece. When it doesn't work for them they will blame themselves or look for the next similar work that claims they can have everything without any real effort beyond believing and tuning themselves. Yes, inner attitude makes tremendous difference. But it must be matched with well planned action and lots of it to accomplish anything in this world.
You Have the Power!.......2007-10-02
"The Divine Matrix" by Gregg Bradden reveals insights into scientifically verifiable universal energy that connects and affects all aspects of our lives.
The central message in this book is that each person has the power to speak to this universal energy/force and thereby create a more peaceful and joyful life for oneself and ultimately transform the planet.
An inspirational read, especially with the central message that our true power for life transformation comes from within!

Does Verify Quantum Science.......2007-09-03
"The Divine Matrix: Bridging Time, Space, Miracles and Belief" by Gregg Braden, is firstly about discovering the Divine Matrix and revealing the mystery that connects all life. Secondly, the book goes on to describe how the Divine Matrix works, and brings insight into bridging between imagination and reality. Finally The Divine Matrix explains how to successfully work with healing in Quantum Awareness, which includes insight and messages from the Divine Matrix.
Also, the Divine Matrix is scientifically verifiable in terms of the latest findings in Quantum Science...and interestingly the hologram is a perfect analogy to ideas presented in this book.
Most highly recommended.
If you like Divine Matrix then you'll be fascinated with a recent New Age novel I've discovered that is also about connectedness, spirituality, and life transformation:

Best "Consciousness Research" book I've Read to Date.......2007-08-05
I've read many, many books of a spiritual nature over the last several years and, over & over again I would read that we are all connected somehow and that we impact, or co-create, our reality. But, until reading Braden's "The Divine Matrix", I didn't really understand these ideas.
This book is so powerful because Braden doesn't just tell readers how to "intend" a different future, or make the statement that we are all connected, but instead he explains how & why these statements are true based on new scientific evidence. Plus, although the scientific concepts he discusses are quite complex, he has the ability to make them easy to understand for people who, like me, have no physics background.
The overall concept is that there is a web of energy where all things begin and all possibilities exist. It's this "web" that connects us to everyone and everything, and through which we bring possibilities into existence (co-creating our reality through imagination, prayer, judgement, expectation, etc...). What a brilliant design!
An awesome "bonus" is the "20 Keys to Consciousness" he includes at the end, where he outlines how to use the information he provides to create the life you want to live. You may want to type these up, print them out, and hang them somewhere that you'll see them everyday...
In addition to the scientific concepts and research discussed in "The Divine Matrix", Braden also shares some personal stories reflecting his journey of discovering, understanding, and using this information - providing a really nice balance between the science & the personal.
Overall, I would HIGHLY reccomend "The Divine Matrix" to anyone interested in how science is beginning to prove the truth of ancient spiritual concepts, as well as those who'd like to co-create a better future. It's insightful, profound, and an "easy read" (when compared to other books of this genre).

Thank you Gregg for helping wake people to the matrix of energy we all share.
There is no escaping that "all is one". Anyone interested in books that search quantum physics/science for an explanation of the Divine, Spirit, unifying energy of One will enjoy this book. Caryn Colgan, Ancient Pact

Great plan that makes sence and works........2007-09-10
I've like Michael for a while. Watching him on Extreme Makeover his theories seem to be logical and user friendly. The book is well layed out with good illustrations. The diet info is well balanced and nutritionally sound. I'd been on Weight Watchers for 6 months and had lost 50lbs. I still had 10 more to loose so I thought a change would be good. When I weighed in I'd lost 4.6lbs in 2 weeks with this book. This was amazing since I was well past the water lose stage on the game. His workout strategy is intellegent explanning how to create a long lean look instead of creating muscle where I didn't want it. I highly reccomend the book. It's no weight lose miracle just sound logic that will work IF YOU DO IT!
Health Plan.......2007-09-05
This book is more of a health plan than a diet book, so well written with loads of good information
One of the better books on the market.......2007-08-30
Filled with common sense tips on exercise and diet. Was impressed with the acuracy of the descriptions within the body types. Would definitely recommend.
Need a partner for this.......2007-08-20
I was extremely disappointed with this book. I work out all the time and have never had a problem following a program, however, this program requires that you have a partner (which I don't have) to hold the rubber bands for the resistance training. The other suggestion is to put the bands around something??????? Have no idea what I could possibly put the bands around. Needless to say couldn't follow this plan so I couldn't tell you if it works.
You'll Need The Entire Program instead of book.......2007-07-04
Having bought the entire program several years back I can attest to the fact that the book does not have all the exercises which came with the program. For instance, the exercise for double chins are missing and so are most of every other exercise.
However, for getting started, I suppose it's okay.
While the book for the body make over eating plan is more than adequate, this puppy isn't. Save your money.

Book Description
Bestselling author Barbara Kingsolver returns with her first nonfiction narrative that will open your eyes in a hundred new ways to an old truth: You are what you eat.
"As the U.S. population made an unprecedented mad dash for the Sun Belt, one carload of us paddled against the tide, heading for the Promised Land where water falls from the sky and green stuff grows all around. We were about to begin the adventure of realigning our lives with our food chain.
"Naturally, our first stop was to buy junk food and fossil fuel. . . ."
Hang on for the ride: With characteristic poetry and pluck, Barbara Kingsolver and her family sweep readers along on their journey away from the industrial-food pipeline to a rural life in which they vow to buy only food raised in their own neighborhood, grow it themselves, or learn to live without it. Their good-humored search yields surprising discoveries about turkey sex life and overly zealous zucchini plants, en route to a food culture that's better for the neighborhood and also better on the table. Part memoir, part journalistic investigation, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle makes a passionate case for putting the kitchen back at the center of family life and diversified farms at the center of the American diet.
"This is the story of a year in which we made every attempt to feed ourselves animals and vegetables whose provenance we really knew . . . and of how our family was changed by our first year of deliberately eating food produced from the same place where we worked, went to school, loved our neighbors, drank the water, and breathed the air."

Enjoyable, with Reservations.......2007-10-10
I was attracted to this book as a kindred spirit (of sorts) to the author. I have been growing much of my own food (plant-based, anyway) as I could for many years. I prefer to eat seasonal foods, and buy locally produced items whenever available.
So I was a little disappointed when I first began reading, as much of the first chapter or two is taken up by the author's berating us all for our ignorance and our eating habits, as well as a lot of good, but unfortunately not new to me, information on our food supply.
Thankfully though, I hung in there, and found it to be an enjoyable read overall. I was looking forward to hear someone else's experiences in the garden and the kitchen, and that I did get.
I found myself skipping some parts, the description of the poultry slaughtering for example.
The book also includes sidebars written by her husband, which were mainly summaries of reports one may have already read elsewhere; and essays written by her daughter, Camille. I didn't find these entries of interest, and so skipped them as well.
If you enjoy reading about food and or gardening, or you have been having second thoughts about your grocery habits lately, then I recommend this book.
Can I please live with the Kingsolver Family?.......2007-10-09
Barbara Kingsolver is my hero. Her life on the farm sounds perfect, and I want her to open a B&B so I can experience her cooking, gardening, and philosophy of life. And while I don't have enough land or expertise to sustain myself and my family -- I do appreciate the information in this book and have used what I can to eat more local foods. The recipes, links, and resources make the book worthwhile. But the book is also an entertaining read. I read it slowly to savor the deep commitment that Barbara and her family put into even the most simple eating pleasures. Thank you for this book, Barbara. It is a treasure. Eleanor Taylor, co-author of Feeding the Kids: The Flexbile, No-Battles, Healthy Eating System for the Whole Family. Feeding the Kids: The Flexible, No-Battles, Healthy Eating System for the Whole Family (Fork and Spoon Field Guides)
Thinking about your food.......2007-10-05
Ms Kingsolver writes smoothly and with passion about organic farming. Sidebars from her college age daughter cover practical personal concerns, complete with recipes to enjoy the seasonal bounty of the land; while ones from her husband give the political overview of how farming policies affect us all on a world level. All in my book group enjoyed the book as a whole. It was obviously edited tightly to be easy and fast to read while still introducing ideas that would be unusual to most people in North America. As one with a extensive backyard fruit and vegetable garden in California, I would have enjoyed more detailed planning information on how she decided what and how much to plant, why she did not try to raise more and different animals for food, (e.g., rabbits, sheep, or even guinea pigs)and what she could have done with a greenhouse and solar or wind power.
Powerful Read.......2007-10-04
I think this is an important book about our society, economy and values. While it can be a bit preachy at times, Barbara's humor is wonderfully dry. I highly recommend.
Great book and fun to read! .......2007-10-01
I loved the book, it was informative and entertaining. Everyone can benefit from reading it and trying to follow Barbara's lead.

Book Description
Take two-they're small. And they perform miracles. Suffering a career-ending, potentially crippling injury to her back and right leg, a young dancer named Elaine Petrone tried everyone from orthopedists to yogis to turn her pain and prognosis around. Nothing worked-until she healed herself through a unique program of therapy and exercise based around the use of two small, squishy balls. From there she turned her passion into a mission that is helping the thousands of people who visit her classes conquer pain, stress, and injury.
Now, for relief for sufferers everywhere, comes The Miracle Ball Method, a healing kit containing two miracle balls and a fully illustrated book, all packaged together in an attention-getting clear plastic cylinder. The work itself is simple. Take a sore back: By resting your aching back on the grapefruit-sized balls and letting your body sink into them, you're unworking the muscles that hurt. Pain and tension drain out of the body. Petrone shows how proper breathing (which she demonstrates) works in conjunction with a range of unexercises that call for placing the balls under the back, head, knees, hip, elbow-wherever there's pain-and then resting, rolling, or rotating on them. She points out that relief can come in surprising ways: Lower back pain may be helped by placing the ball under your neck, or a bad knee might be helped by hip work. It's arevolutionary program of relief, from head to toe.

Not all its cracked up to be........2007-10-08
On the basis of the many positive reviews here and because of suffering several months of neck and shoulder pain I purchased the Ball and DVD kit. The back of the DVD clearly stated assistance for Neck and shoulder relief. Watching the DVD which was blemished and had to be polished three times before it was viewable from the beginning I performed the breathing exercises and moved to the "On the Ball" sections and then the "Whole Body Movements." I found nothing that specifically targets the neck and shoulder issues, except one brief camera shot of the balls under the upper back which is not covered in the video.
In addition, the video while beautifully shot is poorly scripted and Elaine and the two people participating in the exercises talk over each other as well as distract Elaine from information she starts to give and them never returns to. It is very frustrating at times because of this.
To date I have found no relief from my neck and shoulder pain from anything on this video. Maybe there are more videos or the book covers more uses and placements of the balls but that is not explained on the dvd jacket and I bought it for the neck and shoulder pain which the jacket was misleadingly indicated was part of the program..
Back pain no more!.......2007-10-06
I have a pronounced scoliosis curve and have struggled with low back pain as well as neck and shoulder pain for many years now. I have tried stretching, therapeutic and restorative yoga, Qi Gong, massage therapy, trigger point therapy, chiropractors, osteopathy, positive thinking...you name it. They've all helped...a little. But nothing has provided the remarkable relief that Ms Petrone's method has brought me. If you suffer and are searching for a way out of your pain, this might just be what you are looking for.
Product Query...........2007-10-03
Hi
Does anyone know if this provides a guide on how to excercise the upper back and shoulders?
Thanks
Excellent product. Great value........2007-09-17
I'm in pretty good shape and active, with few aches and pains. However, I do suffer from occasional lower back stiffness and have bouts of lower back pain about once a year during times of stress and particularly during season change and cold weather. I thought the miracle balls would be a good tool for stretching and releasing tension and hoped adding them to my regimen of exercise would prevent further episodes of pain. I just received the Miracle Balls last week and have used them almost every day, because it just feels so good and relaxing. I have noticed an overall release of body and mental tension during and after use, and improved feeling of alignment and flexibility when doing the other parts of my exercise routine. I've already given a set to a friend who suffers from stiffness and have recommended them to several other people. This is one of only a few items I've ever been inspired to review over several years of shopping on amazon, and I appreciated the reasonable price and efficient delivery as usual!
IF YOU HAVE A BAD BACK OR TIGHT SHOULDERS BUY THESE BALLS!!!!!.......2007-08-18
I have a VERY bad back and in the last 6 months it was crippling on and off. I originally saw these at Costco and didn't buy them because I thought that they were a gimmick. But then I received them in the mail as my mother had bought them hoping that they would help me.. I was having a particularly painful morning when they were delivered to my door...what the heck I tried them out and the difference was immediate. I SWEAR BY THESE BALLS THEY REALLY ARE A MIRACLE!!!!! The only thing that might discourage people is that the spot you were using them on the first day will be painful to use the next day so just wait a day. Your body will get over it and the balls will get softer. BUT DON'T GIVE UP AND STOP USING THEM. DAY OR TWO LATER AND IT WILL BE LESS PAINFUL. My niece who also has a bad back used mine and loved them so I ordered them from Amazon for her. IF YOU HAVE A BAD BACK OR TIGHT SHOULDERS BUY THESE BALLS!!!!

Customer Reviews:
The information in this book actually saved my life! NO JOKE!!!.......2007-08-22
On August 16th, 2000, I awoke in my sleep having been bitten five times by a mosquito carrying some form of encephalitis. Earlier that year residents of the San Fernando Valley, where I live, were warned through the local media that the county health officials found 12 different viruses in the mosquitoes feeding off the sewage areas in the neighboring Sepulveda Dam area near my home.
While my home is about 4 blocks from the 405 freeway, where the Sepulveda Dam area is, I didn't think a mosquito would fly over that busy freeway and get close to my home. Well come the night of August 16th, one did. It woke me at 2:00 am that early morning finding me waking to scratching my bite marks. I could not catch the mosquito that bit me, so I went back to sleep.
Come 10:00 am the following morning, I awoke to go to the bathroom when suddenly a felt a snapping in the left trapezius muscle of my neck, supporting my skull, while I fell to the floor temporarily unconscious for a few seconds. Oddly enough, instinctively my left hand grabbed the towel rack next to my toilet as I tried to catch myself falling.
As I tried to stand up, I had a massive amount of pressure and pain going clean around my head and over my eyes. I could barely control the muscles on the left back side of my neck and had to crawl back to my bed on all fours. As I got in bed, I reached for the phone on my nightstand and called my cousin to come and take me to Tarzana ER, near my home.
When we got there and I was admitted, Dr. Edith Levine, MD; the attending doctor on duty that day, told me they were getting allot of people dropping from the mosquitoes in the Sepulveda Dam area due to encephalitis and meningitis type related problems. So she took a CAT and MRI scan as well as some blood, then told me I was on my own with this one as western medicine had nothing to offer.
Day and night I was blinded with crushing pain around my head, bedridden and close to death. In fact, I did die come March 2001 and got to see the other side while walking with our Lord in Heaven. Why I came back is another story. Whether you believe me or not is not at issue here.
However, what is at issue is how I got my head clear. A few weeks after the initial bite from the mosquito, my brother took me to see one of my physicians, Dr. Murry Susser who operated out of the Longevity Medical Clinic in Los Angeles at that time. Susser said he could try to approach the problem using all natural approaches, but I suggested we follow Dr. Douglass's book on using peroxide treatments to try and clear the blood vessels surrounding my head which were obviously involved in all of this. I had been using the information in Douglass's book to help me with a 2 1/2 year detox/deparasiting program I had been on after eating contaminated meat a few years previous: Again being told to go home and die after western medicine finally gave up on me. Susser agreed with my proposal and authorized 10 peroxide treatments to be done on Saturdays, one week apart from each other.
By the time I was done with those 10 treatments, all the crushing pain and pressure in my ears was cleared, but I could not say the same for the crushing pain and pressure all around my head.
Two years went by with me bedridden living in this condition. I had tried prednisone to no avail and the best help was using Dr. Bob Beck's blood electrifier with the probes on the temporal arteries, which gave me some symptomatic relief helping to function somewhat better.
Finally, another naturopath I knew by the name of Dr. Rick Santee called me suggesting I might have plaque build up in the blood vessels going around my head and that I should think of repeating the peroxide IV's, but also add in EDTA chelation into the approach. These are referred to as "chelox" treatments in Dr. Douglass's book: "Chelox" standing for "chelation/oxygen" treatments.
So we made an appointment with Dr. Susser again and I shared with him what Dr. Santee suggested. Susser again liked the idea and authorized 20 chelox treatments done one week apart from each other on Saturdays. So on the first Saturday I was given a three hour EDTA chelation IV and the next Saturday, I got a 2 hour peroxide IV at one quarter strength. As each weekend passed, the EDTA IV stayed the same strength, while the concentration of peroxide was slowly raised to the normal maximum strength.
By the sixth treatment, I started to feel everything in my head start to move down toward my shoulders and into my liver. It was the sickest feeling you can think of. I was a little dizzy headed for 72 hours after each treatment with the pressure becoming temporarily worse in that 72 hours, but as each week passed the pressure got less and less around my head until come the 18th treatment, all the pain and pressure I had lived with, for what was now close to three years, was gone; never to return: Not even to this day.
What needed more work was the torn muscle on the left back side of my neck. That tear was about a 4 inch tear. Susser prescribed 9,000 units of Vitamin E a day to go after the scar tissue along with head exercises. Dr. Santee wanted me to keep my pH up, so I did keep my minerals going into me, but found eating lots of protein helped the muscle operate and regenerate faster along with the large doses of Vitamin E I was taking each day.
About another year later my neck was back to normal. Naturally I could not work during this time in the condition I was in and if we had known to use the chelox treatments up front, I would have only lost the one year.
Dr. Susser was good friends I learned with both Dr. Douglass and Dr. Charles Farr who are both talked about in Douglass's book and I have a great deal of respect for Murry Susser if you are ever in the L.A. area and need a good source for alternatives away from the allopathic western medical trap of doing medicine.
I highly, highly recommend you keep this book next to your home medical book if you have one. The information revealed does indeed work, speaking from actual experience and I've met many a patient who has used EDTA chelation to clear their arteries avoiding the bitter suffering of open heart surgery as a result. I can testify from experience how well EDTA works in combination with peroxide IV's. The information in this book truly saved my life!
have tried it.......2007-08-19
Am taking chelation treatments and alternate once in awhile with the hydrogen peroxide treatments. It's too soon for me, but visiting with others who have been on these treatments much longer....it sounds very promising. The hydrogen peroxide is used to help get rid of infection among other things. Almost sounds too good to be true. But like I said before...have talked with many who have been helped a great deal, which have included diabetics, heart patients, cancer patients.
excellent.......2007-07-22
A unique take on the health and aging industries, this book is a real eye opener. It proves, once again, that we have much to learn about our health and that the key to preventing a myriad of diseases, from AIDS to cancer could very well be just around the horizon.
This book is must reading for anyonwe intrigued with health, new discovery and who has a sense of wonderment.
For those interested in health also read Dr Ornish's book. Dr. Dean Ornish's Program for Reversing Heart Disease: The Only System Scientifically Proven to Reverse Heart Disease Without Drugs or Surgery
Don't Drink This Stuff.......2007-07-20
The book is very good reading and hydrogen peroxide is wonderful. However, the type the book discusses is not the liquid kind you purchase in the drug store. Don't drink typical hydrogen peroxide you normally see; most authorities agree this isn't good for you. I'm never going to do what the book recommends, so, while the reading is interesting, it is of limited value.
Yes and No.......2007-06-30
It is important to remain an informed consumer. Many reviews contain unsubstantiated anecdotal evidence ("it worked for me!") that may/may not be true or could be coincidental. Also, remember that some alternative medical regimens are sold by people wishing to make $$$ from you. And take care when a "medical" professional bashes the establishment and makes claims that "they have tried to suppress this". This is usually not really true, and is a powerful psychological method used to sell alternative products. H2O2 has some beneficial and some potentially harmful effects. From wikipedia ( a generally objective resource site):
Hydrogen peroxide has been used as an antiseptic and anti-bacterial agent for many years. While its use has decreased in recent years with the popularity of better-smelling and more readily-available over the counter products, it is still used by many hospitals, doctors and dentists in sterilizing, cleaning and treating everything from floors to root canal procedures.
Recently, alternative medical practitioners have advocated administering doses of hydrogen peroxide intravenously in extremely low (less than one percent) concentrations for hydrogen peroxide therapy -- a controversial alternative medical treatment for cancer. However, according to the American Cancer Society, "there is no scientific evidence that hydrogen peroxide is a safe, effective or useful cancer treatment." They advise cancer patients to "remain in the care of qualified doctors who use proven methods of treatment and approved clinical trials of promising new treatments." [6] Another controversial alternative medical treatment is inhaling hydrogen peroxide of a concentration around 1%. Internal use of hydrogen peroxide has a history of causing fatal blood disorders, and its recent use as a therapeutic treatment has been linked to several deaths.[7][8]
Hydrogen peroxide is Generally Recognised As Safe (GRAS) as an antimicrobial agent, an oxidizing agent and more by the US Food and Drug Administration.[9] Hydrogen peroxide can also be used as a toothpaste when mixed with correct quantities of baking soda and salt.[10] Like benzoyl peroxide, hydrogen peroxide is also sometimes used in the treatment of acne.[11] Hydrogen peroxide is also used as an emetic in veterinary practice.[12]

The perfect gift for people you love when they're diagnosed with Cander........2007-09-19
12+ years ago when my surgeon told me I had breast cancer (my second bout with cancer), she gave me this book. Not only did it help me develop, sustain and exude a positive attitude during my entire treatment phase, but it made me a touchstone for anyone else who was diagnosed with cancer and contacted me. Since that time, whenever someone that is near and dear to me, someone that I truly love and want to do something positive for when they are diagnosed with cancer, I give them a copy of this book. Not one of them has died to date. My most recent gift of the book has been to my husband and he is visibly changing his attitude as he reads it.
Not your fault!.......2007-07-12
When I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, I read a wide variety of "inspirational" cancer survivor books. The Bloch's Foundation's "Fighting Cancer" (free just contact them) and Norman Cousin's "Anatomy of an Illness" really resonated for me, made sense and reinforced my focus. Bernie Siegel's books on the other hand made me feel that the disease was my fault for having the "wrong" personality and that if I allowed any negative thoughts into my mind, I was putting my recovery in doubt. Heck most of my thoughts during treatment were negative, real negative! I literally threw his books in the trash, probably more of a symbolic gesture, but it felt good. BTW I am cancer free for the last 16 years, fathered a child and getting a kick out every day.
A powerful message but not scientifically prooven.......2007-06-26
Bernie's central theme is that there is a strong correlation between emotional health and physical health. However he rarely cites any scientific evidence for his claim. He keeps repeating this message based on his experiences with random patients. Surely one can conclude many things from random patients, but a theory has to applicable accross a large sample. There has to be a 'control' if the study is to have any scientific merit. I wished he had shown more of these studies.
This would definitely be a five star book had the author been more scientific in prooving his point. Nevertheless I do personally agree with it.
hope, but not false hope.......2007-05-15
I'd pretty much accepted that i was going to die from cancer. My doctors had too. My friend gave me this book and it caused a huge attitude shift in me. Now I feel that I have it within me to heal and live a long happy and healthy life. I've been told there is nothing medically can be done for me. If I hadn't read this book first I would have just laid down and died when they told me. But now I've opened myself up to other tools for healing - good diet, wheatgrass, reiki, meditation and absolutely no sugar. Time will tell, but I think I'm on the right track.
I thought this book was so good that I ordered a copy to give to my oncologist. He's a lovely man and I believe his desire to help his patients will lead him to use this book as a useful tool in the future.
a read that cheers you up.......2007-05-10
Everybody who is confused and scared about what they are going through due to serious health problems should read this book. "Healthy" people also, they will learn a lot.

In many ways, The pH Miracle is reminiscent of an earlier generation of diet books. Much of the focus is on an intestinal cleansing program, followed by a diet that is 70 to 80 percent vegetables, coupled with a tremendous selection of supplements that authors Robert and Shelley Young recommend to everyone, no matter what their age, gender, or state of health.
The Youngs point their fingers at candida as a main culprit in the poor health of many people. Unfortunately, they back up their claims with only vague references, such as "a 1991 study" and "a leading cancer researcher." Many readers may wish for more specific evidence, but instead will have to make do with enthusiastic recommendations, alphabetized lists of vegetables, and pleasing chapters with vegetarian recipes that taste good no matter how you feel about the diet as a whole.
Sprinkled throughout the book are short testimonials of people who were able to reverse cancer, improve their digestion, and lower their cholesterol by following these recommendations, and it's hard to argue with the cholesterol-lowering results that a 70 percent vegetable diet will achieve. Still, the medical value of much else in the book remains hotly contested, and as always, it's wise to check with your doctor before starting off in search of miracles. --Jill Lightner

Changed my life!.......2007-10-10
I have been dealing with some health issues for over a year. After reading this book and implemeting the Program, the results have been nothing short of miraculous. I have never been happier, healthier, clearer, or filled with more energy in my entire life. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to understand their health and how it relates to every other area of your life!
excellent information.......2007-09-29
there's information here that may seem odd, but it does check out with common sense. I think there are major benefits to trying out the ideas, although can't get myself to go whole hog on all of them
The PH Miracle is Truly an Eye-Opener.......2007-09-25
I've been following the very basic principles of this book for about 7 months now. Over the course of this time, and not following it as closely as I should, thus far I have still shed over 30 pounds with very little effort. I had reached the point where I had tried diet after diet with unsatisfactory results. The PH balance theory, as described by Dr. Young, made a lot of sense to me. I figured at the very least to test the water at home (we have a well system and the PH is now balanced to just above 7) and the water at work (bottled--it tested at 6.0). I use baking powder (one alternative suggested) to raise the PH of the drinking water at work. This simple change has to be credited for a lot of the success I've had.
Another change I have made is to try to avoid any artificial sweeteners, particularly aspartame, suclarose, and nutrisweet. The calories in sugar (yes, an acidic no-no) are still better for you than man-made chemicals which are toxic to your cells, and frankly if you consider a teaspoon of sugar has about 18 calories, if memory serves, it's still a fairly negligible amount of calories versus the questionable alternatives to sugar.
The PH Miracle book, and the companion books by Dr. Young, is an easy to follow guideline. For me, it certainly has been a miraculous find. I plan to re-read it and incorporate more of the suggested changes into my diet.
If only everyone read this book..........2007-08-27
....America would be a better place to live. Somewhere in history the propaganda machine kicked out important nutrition information that was largely based on private interests. And now, here we are; sick, tired, diseased and frustrated with life.
This book makes sense. Before reading, however, question your beliefs...and not just the ones you WANT to question...question all of them. Then, you'll find it easy to accept Dr Young's suggestions. The most obvious one to question was that about breakfast....I don't know why breakfast is some over-sugar'ed bowl of cereal or pop-tart in America.
Start with the cleanse. It'll reset your sugar cravings and help you understand the mental component of food, eating and hunger. You'll find during a cleanse that you have more energy than ever, feel light and free, and yet still, somewhere in the back of your mind, some part of you BEGS for food. It's like a little monster that exists within your mind...but don't worry, after very little time, it is starved to non-existence, along with you belief that eating food is in important part of your every day social life.
Read this book and then recommend it to others.
It Just makes Since.......2007-08-13
We are now going on five weeks on Dr.Young's ph miracle and its awesome. The whole family my children included have adopted Dr. Young's practices and we feel great. We have lost weight and inches off of our waist its truly a great way to live.

When Helen Schucman, a professor of medical psychology at Columbia University, began hearing an inner voice of rapid dictation (which she eventually identified as the voice of Jesus), she decided to start taking shorthand notes. Then, with the support and encouragement of a colleague, Schucman continued to assemble the teachings that came to her. The result is A Course in Miracles, a book that has spawned hundreds of study groups and an international following. Although some may find the teachings simplistic ("To heal is to make happy"), many are struck by the predominately compassionate and eloquent passages of this Christian-based interpretation of the Bible ("Whenever you deny a blessing to a brother you will feel deprived, because denial is as total as love"). Indeed, many of the teachings carry weight and certainly merit the acclaim and attention that this book has generated. --Gail Hudson

Those who gave this a low rating don't "get it".......2007-09-03
I've read a few reviews on this book. I used to get upset at hardcore intellecutal types who use a fancy vocabulary just to prove to others how "intelligent" they are. Intelligence is a curse to those who claim to know everything and a gift to those who know they know very little. This book is not the Bible it's not the Koran it's a spiritual book with valuable lessons. Yes it is tedious and complicating. If it was simple it wouldn't be worth the read. The problem is people are either very religious and call it blasphemous or are hardcore science types who need everything proven to them in a sterile laboratory. Life is complex and so are people. This is not the answer to all your problems BUT if you "get it" you'll learn from it. Leave those who hate this book to continue living in fear of change. I don't have all the answers, no one does. Your truth is not my truth. If love and compassion scare you don't read this book. If you get uncomfortable looking in the mirror because you feel lost, don't read this book. God is not a man on a chair with a beard in my opinion. God is everything, life, energy, thought. You control your own life. It saddens me to see that when things go right arroagant people pound their chest with pride but when things go wrong God is "punishing" them. This book is not for the weak of spirit. If you have an open mind, and you have a heart you'll enjoy this book. If your brain is so big that your ego and pride blind you, don't read this book. There are 2 types of intelligent people; those who keep an open mind and UNDERSTAND that they will NEVER have all the answers but try to find peace in life and then there are those who base their identity on their iq scores. You are not you're thoughts, you are not your car, you are not you're phd degree on that wall, you just...are.
on mysticism and schizophrenia.......2007-08-21
The book cannot be discussed per se or as a work of art, rather as awork on the manifestation of escapism and self delusion.
Having endured a tedious battle of copyright beween competing groups of quasi religious conviction it is now exploited under the notion that it is distributed for no profit at all, this being the first delusion of many more to follow.
It has been written by Helen Schucman, teaching medical psychology at the Columbian Presbeteryan Center in the sixties of the last century with the claim that it was dictated by a voice she heared inside her head. Later she identified this voice as Jesus Christ. This Jesus gave her dictations on a daily basis which she put down on note pads. Schucman red these notes to her collegue Dr. William Thetford who edited and typed the text.
At first Schucman was reluctant to publish her work, for reasons the reader must imagine himself.
In the early seventies Schucman and Thetford passed the text, among others, on to Benedikt Groeschel, an ex-priest who at that time converted a certain Kenneth Wapnik from Judaism to Catholizism. Wapnik at that time wrote a work on mysticism and schizophrenia, concluding that mystics could never be schizophrenics. Groeschel gave Wapnik the text and Wapnik became a key figure of the cult. His income consists of revenues from books, tapes, workshops and donations, all based on Schucmans work.
Critical thinking about the claimed origin of this work is not encouraged by followers of the believe.
The same goes for questioning of its content.
Within the group of dedicated followers it is blasphemy to ask whether this could be a case of creative schizophrenia.
It feels like the basic and common truths contained in the volumes need a special endorsement in order to be considered valid. "If you cannot believe that it is the actual voice of Jesus you are refusing to wake up" this is the answer I recieved at one of the cult's workshops, surrounded by followers trembling from the kind of self induced ecstasy you will see at spiritual gatherings wordwide, regardless of the religious confession.
It is certainly no coincidence that most editions have a look and appearence that can easily be confused with US editions of Christian Bibles. The sectarian movement has the same stark opposition to critical views as orthodox Catholocism had in the past. It is in fact this point where ACIM and Catholicism are at its closest.
If you dare to question the loosely organized structure of thought, the answers of the group are as follows: You are only questioning the content of the book because you are "living in a dream" or "living in an illusion" and once again "refuse to wake up".
Aim of the system is to remove you from that dream, to awaken you into a reality which is supposed to exist only inside you - solipsism is the word that comes to my mind.
The philosophy of the work, basically purging scattered thoughts of early Christianity with an eclectic mix of hindu and other early religious views poular in the 60ies (think of the Beatles and their Indian Gurus!), is based on the idea of omitting personal suffering by omitting the ego that causes the suffering and carries it on indefinitely as long as you do not apply a process of "waking up from an illusion". It is of course similar to the Asian concept of Maya, the veil that covers the truth. This is one of many cultural cross references that are never made, the book makes it sound as if it carries original ideas, original ideas endorsed by a second coming of Jesus Christ to be exact.
The volume can easily be summoned up in one sentence: "Don't take yourself so serious."
This idea is as old as mankind, served in all mayor religions alike and not a bad idea.
The manual however is very serious, the gurus in the workshops even more so as soon as you stop petting their ego start to ask real questions.
I talked to the people. Most clients of the cult suffer from overindulgence or from the neclect of emotionally inacessible parents. It offers them to find solace by dwelling in their inner realms and by eliminating any resource of outward or political responsibility.
The philosophy of the book claims that you are the master of your fate just by waking up from the illusions in your life. While this is certainly true in cases of spiritual neglect retalted to things like "The American Way of Life" it offers hardly solutions to problems such as: "What can be done against the political and moral crimes induced by power?"
The answer of the book is "prey and wait for miracles" It is probably oder than Christianity.
This is, after all, one of these self help books for the gullible who are, more than anything else, in need for hugs, affection. Hence the workshops that offers all and a possibility to meet dates that are in need for love.
You can save yourself the rather tedious read and instead DO something good to yourself and the world around you. Hug anyone who's dear to you, send flowers to the people you care about, confess your love to those you didn't dare to, have an orgy of the kind that suits you, or just be yourself and smile when you want to frown.
1) The combattants of the copyright trial were the Foundation of A Course in Miracles (FACIM) and the Foundation for Inner Peace (FIP, before Foundation for Parasensory Investigation) against the New Christian Church of Full Endeavour Ltd (NCCFE).
FIP sold the rights in 1995 to Penguin books for 2,5 Million Dollars for 5 years of exploitation. In a verdict in 2003 the copyrights for FACIM were dismissed as the defendor NCCFE was able to proof that the book had been published earlier and that proper copyright had not been estabished by FACIM and FIC.

Substantial book.......2007-08-16
I've heard about the Course in Miracles for years. I ordered this book and have found it to be incredible. It contains all three parts in one book. If you have any interest at all, I recommend that you buy it. Even if you only read it occasionally or if you study daily - it is truly an inspiration.
A Course In Miracles.......2007-08-13
If you are open minded, really, and want to awaken to your true reality, this Course is truly helpful.
From a 5 year student and counting.......2007-07-30
The Course, as it describes, is a requirement for all those who chose to come here, then yearn to return to that ever nagging place we came from. But because our ego's are so huge, covering our spirit like the stone that was rolled away from the tomb, exposing the Spirit of Christ.
The course is a way of uncovering all that we used to cover up our true Self. Every year, the course seems to change in front of your eyes.
Anyone who has ever read it and not continued with it, is purely not ready for the Course. It is indescribable. It is life changing and brings on such great peace or at least the means of peace and contentment.
The Course in Miracles (ACIM)comes to those who ask "There must be a better way?" It certainly did for myself and everyone I ask.
Uniquely written by internal dictation thru a scribe. The words are OBVIOUSLY not from earth.
I am an avid reader and never read such incredible dialog. Rich, descriptive, intuitive and point blank, gets down to the real nature of our existance and our quest.
Book Description
What would you do if you were sitting quietly in your living room when a mysterious couple appeared from out of nowhere - and then told you they were "ascended masters" who had come to reveal some shocking secrets of existence and teach you the miraculous powers of advanced forgiveness? Would you call the cops? Call a psychiatrist? Call out for pizza?
When two such teachers appeared before Gary Renard in 1992, he chose to listen to them (and ask a lot of impertinent questions). The result is this startling book: an extraordinary record of 17 mind-bending conversations that took place over nearly a decade, reorienting the author's life and giving the world an uncompromising introduction to a spiritual teaching destined to change human history.

The disappearance of the Universe.......2007-10-11
This is one of those books that includes lots of Ahaaaa moments. One of the best books that I have read in a long time. I would recommend it to any one that is either considering or doing a Course in Miracles.
You definately need to be open minded to read this.......2007-10-09
This is interesting and different from anything I'd ever read before! I don't believe everyone should read this book. I know many people who are just not ready or open minded enough to accept some of what's covered/proposed here and would end up vehemently opposing it. The first time I read this I honestly didn't know what to think. I was shocked really. Many of the things this guy was saying was just out of bounds of the 'conditioning' I grew up with. I initially checked this out from the library and returned it without having made it thru the first chapter. Then, several weeks later, I ordered it kind of by accident (a recommendation from another source)and was surprised to see that this was the same book I had checked out and returned mostly unread. I think things happen for a reason, and so I thought obviously I was supposed to read this book.
This guy has had the experience of two spiritual instructors who materialize to him on several different occassions and set him straight on how things really are. They are from his past and his future. As far as the information they conveyed, I'm thinking, how could they know all of those things if they were not who they claimed to be, and why would they and Gary lie about it? Some things were easier for me to accept than others. But, that doesn't mean that I don't believe it all, it just means that I don't exactly understand it all, so therefore I won't say that it's not true, because I really don't know. Some things I just need to think about a little longer I guess.
I still pick this up and read it now and then. I have underlined and made notes to myself which I have found helpful. I was glad to have read this before I started 'A Course In Miracles'. Otherwise, I think I would have had a harder time with that. This was like a primer to get me ready for the concepts presented in ACIM.
This book has the power to change the world!.......2007-10-03
I am recommending this book whenever and wherever I have the chance to. I suffered all my life from a traumatic and tragic childhood until I read this book and began practicing true forgiveness. Mr.Renard's teachings showed me a new way to view this world and a new way to forgive. My life is forever changed. If I can heal from sexual assault, deaths, and a lifetime of suicidal depression than so can others. This book has the power to change the world, one life at a time.
Everyone must read this book!.......2007-10-01
This is a life changing book. A must read by everyone. I loved it.
Interested in A Course in Miracles?.......2007-10-01
Disappearance of the Universe has captured the interest not only of those that are new or unfamiliar with A Course in Miracles, but also by the vast majority of us that have been studying the Course for years.
The principles of the Course are presented in an easy-to-understand format, his premise involving conversations with Arten & Pursah, two ascended masters who appeared to him in his living room. Whether or not the reader believes in the appearance of these two is secondary, in my opinion, to the spiritual truths revealed in his book.
Disappearance of the Universe is not only introducing thousands to A Course in Miracles, it is also re energizing many long-time students of the Course with a fresh perspective and newfound zeal with which to continue their studies. Though a later book has been written and published by the author, if you're curious about or interested in knowing more about A Course in Miracles, this is the book to read.
Thanks for the great book, Gary!
