I love this deck!!!! The breathing exercises are easy. The position are fun. and it's real convenent.
Yoga Deck - awesome in so many ways..........2006-12-29
The Yoga Deck is really great for a number of reasons...
- Unlike a clunky book, the cards are easy to handle and refer to during yoga practice.
- Unlike a yoga video/DVD, the cards allow one to go at one's own pace.
- It's easy to create a yoga routine tailored to one's particular needs at the moment.
- If one only has a few minutes to devote to yoga, it's easy to simply pull one card, or maybe two, and really focus on those specific poses.
- The Yoga Deck is compact and easy to transport, and since yoga requires no more than a little space it's excellent for travel.
I own both the original Yoga Deck and Yoga Deck II and absolutely love them!
Very fun, lots of good info........2006-11-01
My wife and I learned a lot from this deck. It is very fun. The cards are laid out great with just enough info.

a great deck of reminders of what is important in life. Learn to slow down, take proper breaths, relax, meditate, go out in nature and focus your thoughts and energies on the important blessings of silence and inner wisdom. This wonderful deck of cards can be a great gift to a friend in need of some inner peace, or for yourself. Set them on your bedside table and pick one each evening or morning to contemplate, and watch your life change in ways that are subtle, yet wondrous. Calm the body, mind and spirit with The Relax Deck and go on a soothing inner journey to happiness, joy and empowerment.
The Relax Deck.......2001-06-26
I received The Relax Deck as a gift from a young friend upon the death of my husband. The daily meditations are a wonderful aid in making it through what before were just daily tasks.
BESUTIFUL DECK.......2000-08-18
I FOUND THIS DECK TO BE LOVELY. AND I FOUND THE IMAGES TO BE "DEEP" AND THOUGHT-PROVOKING. I USE THIS DECK AS FOLLOWS: I PICK A CARD FOR THE DAY AND CONCENTRATE ON ITS POSSIBLE MEANINGS TO ME. I CARRY IT AROUND, USE IT AS A BOOKMARK,ETC. I FIND THE CARDS TO BE DURABLE AND I FIND THAT I AM ABLE TO FIND MEANING IN THEM. THERE ARE DIRECTIONS AND DIFFERENT WAYS TO USE THIS DECK...THIS IS JUST THE METHOD I LIKE. ALSO THE PRICE IS REALLY REASONABLE COMPARED WITH OTHER LIKE PRODUCTS AND IT HAS MUCH LESS PACKAGING (I.E. WASTE) WHICH IS NICE. IF YOU LIKE THESE KIND OF "ITUITIVE" CARDS YOU WILL PROBABLY ENJOY THESE ALSO

Book Description
Now in a fully corrected edition, one of the true spiritual classics of the twentieth century.
Published for the first time with an index and Cardinal Hans Urs von Balthasar's afterword, this new English publication of Meditations on the Tarot is the landmark edition of one of the most important works of esoteric Christ-ianity. Written anonymously and published posthumously, as was the author's wish, the intention of this work is for the reader to find a relationship with the author in the spiritual dimensions of existence. The author wanted not to be thought of as a personality who lived from 1900 to 1973, but as a friend who is communicating with us from beyond the boundaries of ordinary life.
Customer Reviews:
Meditations on the Tarot .......2007-09-10
A wonderfully scholarly tome, one that provides hours of reverie and insight into the the spiritual nature of the the Tarot. It is recommended as a vital additions to one's Tarot library.
kinda interesting...ish.......2007-03-10
I'm not sure how I came across this book a few years ago - I guess I was intrigued to hear what a catholic monk had to say about the encoded remnants of alexandrian wisdom his murderous forebears had done their level best to eradicate ... in the name of jesus. I have many books on the tarot rangeing fom the ridiculous to the sublime. At the top end are Crowley's Thoth and Wirth's Tarot Of The Magicians: at the bottom are the likes of this. After year's of christian brainwashing as a child and adolescent I thought I would give this good old, bad old religion one last backward glance to see if it had any merit at all - and bought the book.
I am glad I did. Having studied the works of Jung for many years I now understand more clearly - after wading through this tome - the nature of psychosis and the sickness that christianity is. If you really want to stretch your mind and rid yourself of illusion you could do worse than read Stephen Wolinsky's Nirvana Sutras and Advaita-Vedanta. I kid you not.
Not for the faint of heart.......2006-10-11
Do NOT be put off by the title, thinking this is some New Age book about how to do tarot readings. Nothing could be farther from the truth. This is a major work of scholarship--not for the faint of heart. It is heavy going, extremely deep and erudite. The author (and there is speculation as to who this is) plumbs many sources, which he/she knows well--the bible, kabbalistic tradition, esoteric religions, Nietzsche, Freud, Christian mystics (Bonaventura, Francis of Assisi, to name but two), and the Tao Te Ching. This is work rich in symbol-making and he/she has the scholarly erudition to illuminate the nuances held in the cards.
At 650 pages, this is a tome to approached with reverence and seriousness. To 'read' it is to study it, slowly, contemplatively. It will change your thinking about many things.
Not What it Seems.......2006-10-02
This might be touted by many as a "wonderful spiritual classic," but if you are a Christian, I'd stay away from this one. It is gnostic to the core. I bought it hoping to learn about Catholic hermaneutics - what a dumb mistake. That's what the teaching magisterium of the Catholic Church is for! Stick to documents of Vatican II and you won't get lost. Plus, they are just as exciting and an easier read than this heady book of 'secrets'!
Not everything with a Catholic label is authenitcally Catholic: Found these comments about a couple of the books endorsers on another website: "The similarities between centering prayer and Transcendental Meditation are striking. "As an ex-TM mediator," says Fr. Finbarr Flanagan, O.F.M., "I find it hard to see any differences between centering prayer and Transcendental Meditation." Frs. Keating, Menninger, and Pennington authored centering prayer at a time when St. Joseph Abbey had received several retreats involving Eastern religions, including Transcendental Meditation. I cited Fr. Pennington's praise for the Hindu guru and author of Transcendental Meditation. This involvement in eclecticism has continued. Fr. Pennington has not just attended an e.s.t (Erhard Sensitivity Training) session but has served on its board. Frs. Keating and Pennington gave endorsements, appearing on the dust jacket, for Meditations on the Tarot: A Journey in Christian Hermeticism. The tarot is a deck of cards used in fortune telling. Fr. Keating calls the book "the greatest contribution to date toward the rediscovery and renewal of the Christian contemplative tradition." Fr. Pennington says it is "without doubt the most extraordinary work I have ever read." Amity House, the publisher, is heavily New Age. The Library of Congress has classified the book under "occult sciences" and "cartomancy." 'Nuff said.
Beyond impressive.......2006-07-05
This book, like all great books, is not beyond criticism, but the writer's learning and wisdom is so vast and thorough that I admit that I am incapable and, in all humility, unworthy of rendering anything less than the highest mark. There were many moments when I seriously wondered how the author could know what he knows, and at certain times it strained credibility- or perhaps my present capacity for synthesis- but the sheer thoughtfulness, thought-provokingness, and vast command of his subject has proven to be of the most inestimable and greatest benefit to any who would read it with a critical and open mind. One could read this book several times and gain perhaps even exponentially over what they gained with the previous reading. (As far as the Tarot theme goes, it utilizes a certain older deck's pictoral symbology as a springboard to dicuss the often hidden relationships at work in the universal life and in our personal selves.) This truly belongs next to any of the greatest philosophical and spiritual books EVER written, even if you disagree with many of the things he says. You will at least come out of the exchange a better thinker. Don't expect to learn a lot about the Tarot per se, or even how to experience the peace(gnosis) of your innermost being- for that you must learn to meditate patiently and persistently until your heart's deepest understanding unfolds of itself and reveals to you your next evolutional step- but do expect to be instructed by a master in a truly invaluable system of synthesis that stretches far beyond the mere written page to perhaps deeply transorm the world as you see it.

Customer Reviews:
Great for the student of the tarot.......2007-02-01
Wether you are a student of the art of the tarot or a fully fledged kabalist, these meditations are very good to commence working on the astral with the tree and the tarot correspondences. I used to own the book when it was titled "The Royal Road" I gave it away, but now have it back and will not be so generous again. There is not that much written in this vein that works, so I am sure it is destined to become a masterpiece among occultists and others on the path.
After Thirty Years, A Classic.......2004-04-17
Just released in a beautiful new edition after thirty years in print, this is truly a classic! Go see the reader reviews of the first edition, released under a slightly different title: The Royal Road: A Manual of Kabalistic Meditations on the Tarot.
This little book provides an excellent introduction both to Kabbalah and to the use of Tarot imagery in guided meditations upon the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. You will find few better introductions to Tarot or Kabbalah. Also included with this fine new edition is a CD with the author reading the Meditations. Highly Recommended!

Customer Reviews:
Excellent for Childbirth Education Classes!.......2007-04-16
I love this deck! I am a certified childbirth educator and this prenatal yoga deck is one of my favorite resources for my classes. Almost every pose has specific pregnancy or labor/birth related benefits. I put together a series of 6-8 poses from the deck that I use as an opening exercise in my classes--people often learn better by actually *doing* something and practicing the yoga poses together allows experiential practice of pelvic floor exercises, pelvic rocks, tailor sitting, optimal fetal positioning exercises, etc. instead of just me talking! Also, I emphasize to my students that birth happens in your BODY--we will spend a lot of time talking and sharing information, but birth doesn't happen in your mind, it happens in your body. People today spend much of their time "living in their heads" and many of us do not feel comfortable with, or at home in, our bodies. So, practicing the poses from this deck in class helps couples out of their heads and into their bodies and begins a process of feeling comfortable with moving and using their bodies in positive ways--I hope this helps develop a trust and confidence that will then contribute to a smooth and peaceful birth process.
The deck also includes several nice, short meditations that serve as a nice closing exercise either for the whole class, or for the exercise portion of class.
I forgot one more nice feature! Each pose has a positive birth affirmation that goes with it--I love these, because I feel like they help plant positive seeds of confidence and trust in the wisdom of women's bodies and of the beauty of birth.
To conclude, I love this deck and I strongly recommend it for other childbirth educators!
Great Tool.......2006-01-22
The prenatal yoga deck is a real find. I had already owned several DVDs when I came across Miller's deck, but decided to purchase it anyway. I am glad I did. At about eight months, I could barely move and the deck enabled me to stretch at my own pace. Now that my baby has moved and I have more space, I still use the deck just about every night so I can continue my practice at my level. I highly recommend this product, and plan to purchase it for my friends who became pregnant in the future.
I did not like the deck option........2005-09-10
Instead of pictures it has poor drawings, it is hard to see exactly in some cases.
I found the books a lot more explicit and more descriptive.
I returned it the same day I got it. Very disappointed with it.
Excellent Yoga Deck for Pregnancy!.......2004-12-18
I loved this Yoga deck. The pictures and directions were easy to follow, and the cards are very well organized. It was easy to customize a routine based on my trimester, and how much free time I had. I can't say enough about the excellent poses. I was able to stay very flexible throughout my pregnancy, and I felt fantastic. Additionally, the meditation phrases helped me to stay positive and truly enjoy the miracle of pregnancy! I highly recommend this Yoga Deck; it had such a positive impact on my pregnancy. A must have.
Deck of cards format is a great idea.......2004-07-15
What drew me to this "book" was the unique deck-of-cards format. It is much easier to use than a full sized book. However, you also get much less information than a book, so I recommend using the Prenatal Yoga deck in conjunction with a good prenatal yoga book, or in addition to one's previous yoga experience. The Prenatal Yoga deck presents the information (poses, breathing, meditations) in a clear, simple way. The poses are quite gentle but effective, and the suggested routines are short, which I found perfect for before-work sessions in the morning. You can of course create longer routines from the 25 or so poses included in the deck. I especially liked the suggested meditative phrase for each pose. The poses all indicate in which trimesters they are safe, and include modifications for later on in the pregnancy.

Book Description
Throughout the centuries, the mystics and sages have used parables as a way to help us more easily remember and reflect on the deepest secrets in life. Osho is a master storyteller of our times, who has an uncommon knack for bringing the timeless wisdom of ancient parables right into the 21st century, in a way that gives us immediate and practical insight into the realities of contemporary life.
The emphasis of the deck is not on prophecy or divination-rather, it directs us to the hidden potential of transformation and renewal in every aspect of our daily lives, if we only know where to look for it. Choose a card for the day, and read the accompanying story as a theme for contemplation. Or use as simple spread to explore the dynamics of a relationship, or to gain insight into a specific question.
60 beautiful cards illustrating parables and teaching stories form the world's great wisdom traditions-including Zen, Buddhism, Sufism, Tantra, Tao, Christian and Jewish mysticism.
A book containing the parables, summary meanings for each card, the instructions for a variety of simple card readings to gain insight into the challenges and opportunities of everyday life.
Customer Reviews:
Has it's own charm, but..........2006-10-30
These are not a full or typical tarot deck. stories relate to different ideas like "no-mind", "non-attachment",etc. the stories are nice and are illuminating reminders, and some of the cards are beautiful in their simplicity, but i don't think these cards can compare to the other set of osho tarot cards, which are strikingly beautiful and insightful. i would recommend the other osho tarot deck.
Not the same as the original.......2006-07-25
Same great teaching stories, but different design and Osho's picture not on the first card like on the original deck. Seems like the deck was redesigned for mass consumption, and not just friends of Osho.
My friend, who used my original deck for years, however was so pleased to have her own copy that she didn't seem to mind the changes.
Great for inspiration, not "divination".......2005-12-28
I've owned this deck for five years and I have the Osho Zen Tarot also. I really like both of them, but anyone who owns the Osho Zen Tarot deck should know that this deck is much more difficult to "weave together" when laying out a spread for insight into a relationship. It is especially difficult (for me at least) to use the "choiceless awareness" layout. The interrelationship of the cards, which seems so easy to build with the Osho Zen Tarot, never seems to gel with these cards. For me, it is because the cards are representative of stories, not emotions or other states of being.
One of the ironies of this deck is that it hopes to inspire you to transformation, with that transformation being one of total immersion in the moment, with what is going on, with reality. Yet this deck, unlike the Osho Zen Tarot, does not speak to the user in the here and now--it seeks to draw you to where you can be, to transform you.
I gave the product four stars because the stories with their explanations *are* inspirational and useful. I have considered Osho one of the greatest, if not THE greatest spiritual teacher I have had over the past nine years, but when the usefulness of "throwing the cards" is removed from this product, it becomes "just" another one of Osho's books: highly inspirational, highly illuminating, highly useful, but not a present-oriented divinatory tool.
Quick insights that get better with time.......2005-09-12
Just reading the stories on the tarot cards reminds me of the possibilities of meditation and awareness. Even just glancing at a card during the day can shift my mindset. Great stuff.
The book is as cool as the cards!.......2001-10-31
Maybe even cooler. :)
Really, the book is what attracted me to this collection. I saw it a few weeks ago, started reading the back of the box and realized that the book was pretty much what I'd been wanting for a while: a book of parables. I'd had a fondness for mythology since middle school, but rarely indulged to this degree. The stories are from different paths (Sufism, Islam, Hinduism, Christiantity, etc.), and each corresponds to one of the 60 cards ... except when the cards double up on a story to impress an opposite meaning. This deck, as is the Osho Zen Tarot, is named for a man who loved to tell such parables to his followers, the Bagwaan Shri Ragneesh (remember that old dude who led the commune in Oregon?), but he's only really mentioned in the intro and closing of the book.
Not having read many parables, I find this book utterly charming. The cards and illustrations I find a bit less so, but I think that for the first time since collecting divination decks, the artwork is less important to me for understanding the meaning behind the cards.
The cards measure 5.25" x 3.25", and are bordered with a grey pattern on the picture side. The backs feature an orange circle painting that is also shown on the box. The artwork is amazingly colorful and, while I've seen decks that are visually more appealing to me I will say that the drawings are very skillfully rendered and fairly often get across the point of the story. I've been told that I have big hands for a woman, but I'd find this deck little tricky to shuffle playing-card style (which doesn't seem to suit the mood of the deck anyway). The cards are covered with a semi-glossy and not terribly slick coating.
This deck is probably one of the best divinatory systems I've ever picked up. The book is gripping, so as to not force memorization of the cards as much as to make reading them intuitive. I feel as if I know -- a little bit -- the people portrayed in the stories ... and many of the meanings behind the cards are things I've consciously pondered on my own.
Aside from the word "tarot," I feel that this deck is exactly what it's title claims it to be. If you learn well from stories, I highly recommend this deck.

I own every single Dorothy Morrison book and I feel as if she has become my mentor. Her books are filled with everything one needs to learn and explore the magic of tarot, the moon and the sun. I have been a fan for a long time and my first book entitled :Everyday Magic" was so detailed with spells, tables and other appropiate information I had to purchase her other books. Anyone can follow her spells, they are accurate, detailed, and comprehensive. What I like most about Ms. Morrison is her positive energy that clearly shines though all of her books. I have referenced all of her books for several years now and I feel as if she has become a gentle mentor. Her books are warm and full of magical intent, easy to read, exciting and a must have for any witch's library! She recently was the guest of honor at the Pagan Pride festival in Lakeville,MA and I was not able to attend. I was very upset at not meeting Ms. Morrison and I hope she will make other visits to this area as well as others. It would be a honor to meet such a wonderful and positive writer.
Perfect for the beginner studying the Tarot........2007-06-20
I absolutely adore Ms Morrison's writing and books, so I was very excited when I finally ordered this and got it in the mail. I was never very familiar with the Tarot before I read this, and after reading this, I feel that I have a much greater grasp of it. Her writing style is to the point and friendly without being too aggressively-friendly, which makes it easy to follow and charming to read. Her meditations with each card are treasured, and the spells are varied and simple to use. She also gives personal stories about her experiences with the Tarot, which help the reader (especially the beginner) to relieve any fears or doubts that they might have. Although it isn't the "most definitive" text on the Tarot out there, it is certainly one not to be missed.
The worse possible resource for tarot magic!.......2005-07-31
I cannot believe I read through most of this piece of Yule kindling, much less spent money on it! I feel that Ms Morrison is fulfilling a writing contract with Llewellyn. They have some very venerable writers in their midst. Just because a new book can be produced each year, doesnt make it good!
On that note, this little tome contains very little useful and sane information regarding this beloved form of mysticism. I had nightmares after reading the first few chapters regarding spirits following your cards. And the nonsense about reading for oneself is absolute rubbish! How can one one learn the cards? Reading for drunks in a bar seems preferred.
As for the magic, there are many other books out there that provide safe and sane methods for your cards! Janina Renee's Tarot Spells or Terry Donaldson's Tarot Spellcaster are great sources. If there is a spell for using the cards in picking a better author...
The most simplified.........2005-06-22
Dorothy Morrison truly is concise and presice with her teaching of the tarot!A book for all..from Novices to the more learned.
Very easy to understand and apply.
I highly recommend this book to all.Way to go Dorothy!
All I never suspected.......2005-02-25
I am a novice with the Tarot. I am also Wiccan.
Ms. Morrison gives a great history of the cards and best of all spells to use with them. For those new to the Craft and Tarot I highly recommend you at least read this book. It has things I doubt you will find any where else.

Helpful info.......2007-04-28
Helpful information but quite influenced by B.O.T.A. so some of the information you read on the major arcana can ring a bell. (that is why I gave it 4 stars) The minor arcana information is helpful as are the spreads. Good companion to your other tarot books. ++++
Astrological aspects for minor arcana..............2005-09-26
This book is a must have for anyone who has started down the path of Tarot. The explanations of the cards are very insightful and full of understanding. The major arcana cards get pages and pages written about them which includes the upright and reversed positions of the cards. The most exciting part for me is that the minor arcana cards have astrological aspects assigned to them which I have found no where but this book !!! Also, the back chapters have pages of meaning with certain cards in proximity to other cards. This alone is terrific and helps enormously in deciphering the spreads.....I cannot express how fabulous a learning tool this book has become for me. I am sure it will be a favorite in your library as well. Happy Tarot to you !!
One of the two best Tarot books ever........2004-09-16
Its descriptions for each card are lengthy, incorporating various flavors of New Age [and] mysticism. It discusses Chakras and the Kabbalah. Each Major Arcana card has a guided-meditation vision-quest associated with it. It might be a bit too spiritual for some people, but it's the best for memorizaton, and really getting a <I>feel for how all the cards fit together. I've read dozens of Tarot books, and this is one of the two best ever- the other is "Tarot Reversals."
Tarot Awareness - a Gem.......2001-07-19
In Tarot Awareness, Sterling offers his readers his extensive research and knowledge of the Tarot and its meaning, along with his own intuitive and well-expressed guidance.
I find this book extremely helpful when I am involved in readings because of the clarity of the descriptions for each card. In the major arcana, for each card there is a description of the "General Atmosphere" as well as its application in a reading. The language flows well and offers a deep understanding of the concept.
For the minor arcana, the information offered is concise, descriptive, and well thought out.
Not only is the book helpful in readings, it works as an excellent tool to heighten awareness. For each card of the major arcana, a Visualization appears - a poem in which the language takes the reader inside the mode of consciousness being considered. Thoughts for Meditation are also included.
I have several books on the Tarot; this book has become THE indispensable one that receives the most use.

AbsoluteLY AMAZING - For Seasoned & Novice Tarot Enthusiasts!.......2007-03-07
I am an admitted big fan of Amy Zerner and Monte Farber...I feel their passion for what they do just vibrates from each and every offering they create. This is no exception. As always, the packaging is gorgeous, no expense is spared and you feel like you are rediscovering a beautifully wrapped gift each time you open the box. Top notch materials are used and it shows.
The material is presented in a straight forward manner, you can easily read, watch and understand everything as it goes along. The addition of a meditation for each card is a great idea and one they make easier to to "stick with:\" by using the dvd. You will deepen your appreciation for each card if you take the time to study each card as suggested.
On top of all the great information you even get a complete 78 card deck and a lovely little bag for it...I like that extra touch!
Janet Boyer's review goes into a lot of detail, and I am sure you have read her review. But I want to add that this is a great introduction to the tarot AND a great toold for those who have been reading the tarot much longer.
If you enjoy learning new ideas about the tarot or want to start your journey...get this kit, you will find yourself going back to it over and over!
ENJOY! I have :-D
DVD, Zerner/Farber Deck, Guidebook, Satin Bag--A Multi-Media Extravaganza!.......2007-03-06
"Meditating on the Tarot is a process of self-revelation, of opening the heart and mind to what is meaningful in the present moment. These meditations lead to deeper insights and take you closer to the experience of your divine self and that greater, wiser part of your inner being. Consult the cards as an everyday spiritual practice or whenever you need clarity on an issue." - Monte Farber and Amy Zerner
For almost 30 years, fabric artist Amy Zerner and author/psychic Monte Farber have combined their deep love for each other with their fascination for self-discovery, resulting in oracles, books, art, and decks that are as beautiful as they are immediately useful.
In what is, to my knowledge, the *only* DVD Tarot kit on the market, The Tarot Discovery Kit offers a multi-media extravaganza, combining original music, animated art, melodic voice talents, and concise--yet profound--meditative insights on the Tarot. For this box set, The Enchanted Couple have included a DVD jam-packed with goodies, a full-color 60-page guidebook, gold satin drawstring bag AND their 78-card Zerner/Farber Tarot deck.
For those unfamiliar with the Zerner/Farber tarot, each card depicts intricate fabric collages designed by Amy, designed to capture archetypal symbols, dreams and fantasies. (The Enchanted Tarot is a larger version of this deck, having white and purple borders.)
According to the authors, the benefits of meditating on the Tarot one card at a time are multi-fold:
* An increase in patience and compassion for yourself and others
* Greater understanding of your circumstances and motivations
* Strengthening of intuitive and psychic abilities
* Moments of great joy, calm, and insight
* Consciousness of the next step on your path
* Awareness of the symbols around you
* Memories of forgotten events and possibly past or future lives
* Experience of spiritual peace and power
After shuffling the Zerner/Farber Tarot deck and picking a card at random--or, choosing to focus consciously on a particular card--you can then access an animated visual meditation from the main menu of the DVD. The main menu of the Tarot Discovery Kit DVD has five sections:
1. The Major Arcana
2. The Suit of Wands
3. The Suit of Swords
4. The Suit of Hearts
5. The Suit of Pentacles
6. The Tarot Discovery Theater
The Tarot Discovery Theater presents five featurettes:
1. Entering Sacred Space
2. The Grounding Ritual
3. What Is the Tarot? (Tarot documentary)
4. The Major Arcana (an engaging "story" of the Fool's Journey--and how each of the 22 Majors enrich and influence the Fool from an archetypal perspective)
5. The Minor Arcana (an excellent documentary exploring the origins and meaning of Tarot numerology embodied in the Minors, the four suits and what they govern, and the function of the Court Cards)
Each of the individual card meditations last approximately a minute and a half, featuring several (excellent!) male and female narrators and showcasing animated versions of every Zerner/Farber tarot illustration. Since I've never seen a visual meditation with Tarot cards before, I didn't know what to expect (but wondered if they'd be on the "fluffy", dreamy side).
Somewhat surprisingly, the narrations are rich with solid interpretation, incisive guidance, and fresh ways of experiencing each card. Needless to say, I was impressed!
In the companion book, messages and outcomes are provided for all 78 cards--along with color illustrations of each card image. The wisdom of the text is NOT a repeat of what's on the DVD--so you get additional information on the Tarot.
In addition to giving Tarot enthusiasts a feast for both ears and eyes, Amy and Monte show us their playful side with pictures of their wedding, Amy's gorgeous "spiritual couture", and photos of their adorable feline muse, Mr. Zane. (You have to highlight their name on the menu to discover these personal and personable goodies.)
I'm surprised that no one has melded the Tarot with visual, animated meditations until now, but it's NOT surprising that it's Amy and Monte who have brought us The Tarot Discovery Kit. (If you've seen the luxurious animated movies and readings on their site, you know what I mean!)
My only criticism of this set is the DVD, which, for me, doesn't display well on my PC. I tried two different players, and when choosing the full-screen option, card edges seem shaky, as does some of the animated elements. This can be very distracting. Everything looks good in small-screen mode, as does the presentation on a regular TV set. I much prefer experiencing the DVD on my TVs, even though some of the images appear a bit pixel-ly (a slight digital "blockiness"). (Note: Monte assures me he cannot reproduce the jiggling, but even the replacement DVD peformed this way on two of my PS2 players--and the DVD player in my PC.)
The original music accompanying the menus, meditations, and documentaries is absolutely gorgeous, as are the exceptional voice talents. The archetypal visuals resonate on a deep level, and the storytelling nature of the meditations bypass the rational mind--touching ancient, deeper parts of the psyche. The Tarot Discovery Kit is a fantastic tool for beginners (I wish it had been available when *I* began studying Tarot!), yet it also serves as a grounding, meditative, wise journey for those familiar with the cards.

An Excellent Book.......2000-11-10
This book is mediations on the 22 paths of the Tree of Life from the Qabbala as represented by the 22 Tarot trumps. It includes very nice full color plates of the tarot trumps. Each meditation is usually about 3 pages long followed by 2 pages of commentary.
This book I think is unlikely to appeal to anyone who doesn't already have at least a basic understanding of the Qabbala and the Tarot.
Second verse from the meditation on Tsaddi (the star):
"Men think they seek me, But it is I who seek them, No other seeker is there then myself, And when I find mine own, The pain of questioning is at an end. The fish graspeth the hook, Thinking to find food, But the fisherman is the enjoyer of the meal."
First verse from the mediation on Samekh (temperance):
"I AM the support of all that enter into existence. Upon me all depend. And I fail not. This have I declared unto thee in various ways, But listen now to my words again."
Each mediatation is at least several verses long. Here is the beginning of the commentary on Samekh:
"SAMEKH, pronounced sawmek. Transcribed as "S". The number 60. Meaning: Prop,Support. The Intelligence of Probation or Trial."
The commentary for each path begins like this and then is followed by specific commentary on some of the verses from the meditation.
An excellent book. Recommended.
To allow this book out of print is a sin against humanity........1999-09-01
In this simple piece of work the human mind can grasp if not cultivate immortality.
an extraordinary and beautiful book.......1999-03-28
These meditations on the tarot, are like looking into a deep and still pool, the whole sky is in there. Profoundly resonant.
Excellent focus for meditative purposes.......1998-11-21
This is the most moving and spititual uplifting book I have had the good fortune to read. The work speaks in first person from each of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet; each commenting on its part in the process of creation. The prose is not only beautiful but also compliments any other reading on Kabbalah.
