Book Description

Bishop John Shelby Spong has been on a life–long quest to rescue the church from irrelevancy. In FREEING JESUS FROM RELIGION'S PRISON, he takes aim at the church's core belief: who is Jesus. He first strips the superstitious barnacles that have attached themselves to this incredible person: such as that Jesus was born of a virgin in Bethlehem, that his father was Joseph, that he did miracles, that he had twelve disciples, and especially that he physically rose from the dead. Next Spong explains how these traditions arose by the early disciples seeing all he did through the lens of the Hebrew Scriptures. With these new revelations, we are then able to see the true Jesus, a heroic figure who revealed divinity through his humanness and can still guide us today. In short, Spong breaks Jesus free from the idol religion has created and restores for us a revolutionary and life–giving figure we all need to meet.

5 out of 5 stars Real Christianity.......2007-10-11

Finally, a Christian who knows and tells the truth!
This is a book to be read, and re-read.
If you look at what Jesus said and did, (not what has been merely attributed to him,)
you find that it's very different from what the church has been telling us.
JC needs to be understood in the context of his times.
Spong puts a very different perspective on things, and I think that every believer
and non-believer needs to read this work!

5 out of 5 stars Jesus for the non-Religious.......2007-09-28

This is a great book for those who do not take the Bible as literal words. It will cause you to think and help answer some of the questions that a scientific mind would struggle with. Yet the greatness of Jesus is always present.

1 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Big Surprise.......2007-09-18

This man SPONG is a liar; a modern example of Christ's 2000 year old Warning to those who would be better off with a millstone around their neck at the bottom of the sea than to be leading unwary Souls astray with their books and speeches of elegant lies.

I have not read this book. The reviews tell me all I need to know about it. I have browsed other books like this one in libraries and at The Remainder Tables in bookstores. All such books are strange brews of self-absorbed spiritualism and humanistic poppycock; admixtures of scientific and spiritual jargon formulated to tickle the itching ears of New Age Devotees. The words of Audrey Hepburn's Liza Doolittle apply here: "Just you wait 'Enry 'Iggins, just you wait."

5 out of 5 stars The truth about Jesus.......2007-09-02

I have not gone to church for the past 50 years becuse I cannot believe what they say about the Bible and Jesus. I feel anyone with any sense of history could not accept what churches want their members to believe. Bishop Spong (who has researched the bible extensively) corrects and explains the passages in the bible so one can easily understand his way of thinking

Book Description

Responding to the extraordinary number of questions raised by recent cultural phenomena such as The Gospel of Judas and The Da Vinci Code, New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Browne brings readers the full story of the life of Jesus

New discoveries in archaeology and recent bestsellers and movies such as The Da Vinci Code and The Passion of the Christ have sparked a renaissance of the many controversies that have remained unanswered in Christianity and other religions. At the heart of these controversies is Jesus. With a unique perspective only Sylvia Browne could bring, The Mystical Life of Jesus is filled with the details of Jesus' inspiring life.

Including his birth, childhood, travels, ministry, miracles, crucifixion, death, and resurrection, she addresses all of the major controversies:
• Was there a virgin birth?
• Was there a Star of Bethlehem?
• What did he do for the first thirty years of his life?
• Was he married?
• Was he divine?
• Was it a miracle at Cana (and who was getting married)?
• Is there a Jesus lineage?

Using her unique relationship with her spirit guide and her years studying the controversial Gnostic texts, Sylvia answers all of these questions with a confidence and authority only someone who has visited the afterlife can have.

1 out of 5 stars I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH MS. BROWNE'S CLAIMS..........2007-10-09

With all due respect to Ms. Sylvia Brownes' believers, I strongly disagree with her claim that Jesus survived the crucifixion and was nursed backed to health. I have strong faith in Jesus Christ's resurrection. I believe Jesus ascended and resurrected into Heaven after His death. Please have faith in the resurrection. . "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, JESUS CHRIST, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE......." John 3:16... I believe that Jesus DIED to save us from our sins. I respect all the believers of Sylvia Brownes, but please let's have faith in Christianity's belief of Resurrection. I am not saying that she is not real because I have no right to judge someone, but I will always fight for my faith because I trust Jesus Christ with all my body, heart, mind and soul. The Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is one of Christianity's foundation. I am not being narrow minded, I just have strong faith in Jesus. For the people who wants to know the truth , I recommend the following...

Armageddon, Oil and Terror: What the Bible Says About the Future

End Times

Apocalypse and the End Times

Mysteries of the Universe: A Revolutionary Commentary on UFOs, Aliens, Angels, Pyramids, Bible Codes, Reincarnation, the Antichrist...

God Bless!!

5 out of 5 stars Eye opening.......2007-10-03

I was looking for something like this for some time now. Like Sylvia,I was raised a Catholic but things not always made sense. This book was refreshing to me and those most deep into religion will find it controversial at some point or another. I love it.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I was seeking.......2007-08-17

I decided recently that since I wanted to become more involved with the ascended master Jesus, i.e., invoking Him and seeking His advice, it would be a good idea to learn more about Him. I wasn't satisfied with Biblical accounts. This book was exactly what I was seeking. Sylvia Browne, with extensive research and the help of her guide, Francine (who will only impart the truth because spirit guides can only tell the truth) uncovers inconsistencies among the Gospels. She questions the accounts and draws conclusions based on logic. If you have ever wondered about Jesus' life between the ages of 12 and 30; wondered what really happened then; or seek to know the truth about Him, then this book is for you. It was an incredibly easy and fast read for this reader and this book was hard to put down.
This reader applauds Sylvia Browne for her courage and candor in writing this book and especially her guide, Francine. She also explains the birth story, the different approaches to Christianity (Pauline, Gnostic), the "miracles", the Passion Story (which blew this writer away), life AFTER Easter and the Apocalypse.
This reader's reactions to this book are: Wow! and Thank You For Shining A Light On The Truth. I highly recommend this book. Even though this book challenges commonly-held Christian beliefs, this reader feels that this information also enhances them.

5 out of 5 stars The Real Life of Jesus.......2007-07-05

I just wanted to say "Thank you, Sylvia Brown!" for confirming so many things I believed to be true about Jesus. I loved the book and was so glad I came across it. I strongly believed he did not die on the cross but found that I still had some religously based misconceptions about his life, (that he was born into a poor family, that he was born in a stable, etc.) that I feel your book helped put into the proper perspective. It was a very affirming read for me, confirming so many things regarding his life and death that I somehow knew and felt were true. Very interesting and thought provoking. For those with an open mind this is the book to read if you're interested in knowing more about the life of Christ from an uncommon perspective.

5 out of 5 stars Another point of view.......2007-07-01

She tells you what she knows and leaves it up to you. Psychic Sylvia Browne is GOOD! Of course Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code" got us started, this a the icing on the cake. Think for yourself. Read this book and see what you think.

Book Description

For almost two thousand years devoted believers, mystics, innocents, and even non-believers have reported to have near-to-life, fully perceptual, visitations with Jesus Christ. In 1992 He appeared to Glenda Green and spoke with her daily for almost four months. The expressed purpose of their visit was to paint His portrait, but nothing in the history of her career as an artist or university professor had prepared her for the life transformation that was about to take place. During this time, they spoke…as friends do, of many wonderful things—both miraculous and practical. Nothing would ever be the same. Her penetrating report of this experience is sincere, unbiased, and free of religious contrivance. In many ways her perceptions provide a bridge to the new millennium.

Never before has language or a state of consciousness been present to examine the nature of such a miraculous occurrence as well as to develop the profound implications of it. Here is a brilliant glimpse of eternity, rich with practical applications to life. These messages are sparkling and direct with great contemporary relevance, Imparting in every way the impact of Divinity in communion with a thoughtful and well educated woman of our generation. Amazing answers are given to more than 300 penetrating questions.

5 out of 5 stars The VERY best Spiritual Book I have EVER read!.......2007-10-11

As one who has been committed to the Path for a LONG time, I feel confident in saying that the new version of Love Without End is the
most complete Spiritual Teaching you will ever find.

Each sentence is a Gem ... that you could mediate on for quite awhile.

I have read this book (and marked it up really good!) at least six times.

A Miracle of LOVE indeed...

Gratefully,

Dr. David Kamnitzer

5 out of 5 stars Profound guide.......2007-08-26

I find this book to be packed with information on the nature of reality. Unlike my experience with many books on spirituality, I find myself returning to this book again and again. The truths that Jesus reveals in modern American English hit home whether he is explaining the nature of the heart, the physics of the universe or the ten commandments. Here is revealed both the deep love of Jesus for all people and an unflinching guide to all of life. All of this is presented free from dogma, free from religiosity, and free from condemnation.

5 out of 5 stars Just beautiful.......2007-06-13

The warmth, love, compassion, wisdom and joy that radiate from this book is, at times, overwhelming! For me, this is a book that one must keep so that it can be referred to time and again, as I simply am not spiritually advanced enough to get most of the information on a first, second and maybe even third pass. I hope to hear Glenda speak some day and I'd love to see her painting up close and personal. Buy the book and cherish it!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent transaction!.......2007-05-12

Thank you for the excellent sale - - I received the book in a timely manner and in excellent condition. Thanks!

5 out of 5 stars All You Need Is Love!.......2007-04-12

The fact that--at the core of your being--you are love incarnate is the main point of this wonderful book by Glenda Green. And even more important from a practical standpoint, is the fact that love is your point of power. In fact, love is the only true power in this world. And when you connect with your loving essence and allow it to guide your actions, you will be in full command of your life--creating whatever it is you desire with effortless ease. Now there's a down-to-earth promise from a very lofty, spiritual work! Thank you, Glenda, for sharing this wisdom that was miraculously shared with you.

In 1995, Laurie Beth Jones released Jesus CEO, the first book in a trilogy that traces her own journey from well-pressed executive through a season of personal self- examination, ending finally in blue jeans, having found her heart's true home. The Path is the second book and helps readers identify their divine purpose in life. Her final book, Jesus in Blue Jeans, answers a request: "Could you write a book that could help me with my everyday life?"

Beginning with the proposition that Jesus had an everyday life, Laurie Beth Jones explores the four fundamental qualities of Jesus that we can emulate in our everyday lives: poise, perspective, passion, and power. We investigate the everyday challenges common to all of us, using Jesus' life as our model. Each chapter includes a meditation and teaching, and closes with question to challenge and motivate us. She doesn't intend that we remain passive spectators, rather that we embrace life and participate fully.

Jones has a special gift for presenting the teachings of Jesus in ways that are at once practical and transcendent. By writing about subjects that are familiar to all of us, she makes us comfortable with exploring this unfamiliar ground. Once we feel safe, she quietly steps aside, shifting our attention from our own anxieties to the wisdom of Jesus. The result is an openness and receptivity that might not have been possible for us before.

Jones removes Jesus from theology without sacrificing her own belief. Her love for God is evident and her life seems to overflow with love, enthusiasm, and joy. Moreover, she builds within the reader a curiosity or hunger that goes well beyond the covers of this book, giving the reader the incentive to explore Jesus for him- or herself, so that each experiences the grandeur of life. --Patricia Klein

5 out of 5 stars Jesus' Common Life .......2007-04-04

It helps me to see Jesus' common life in the other side of a fence where the other side is His business life. It opens my eyes to balance my whole life at home as well as at work. It is recommended if you want to know the balance life in both sides. :-)

4 out of 5 stars A lovely text, and quite informative..........2005-10-12

I was quite thrilled to find this, and I literally had no idea that such subject matter existed. I stumbled upon this book by chance, and I am now quite glad I did. I can rest much easier at night with the knowledge that our Lord and Savior prefers the 80's throwback of Acid-Washed jeans from Levi's. I'm so glad to hear that. I always knew that He would never go for that blasphemous Calvin Klein. Amen and enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars Life Application.......2001-11-13

Many times in Bible studies and in associated books theology bogs down the particpants and distants them from understanding where the Lord Jesus is in everyday life. If you need pure "study", this book is not for you. However, if you've been through the studies of Scripture and need time to reflect upon your everyday walk, this book is divine. Very simple written - short paragraphs, each ending with prayer and reflection. I had bought my wife the book "Jesus as CEO", after she received a promotion to a management position where she works. She loved the book, which she still uses today as a tool in working with her fellow employees. Jesus In Bluejeans is very similar - a tool which can be used for personal reflection of your walk with Jesus. Enjoy!!!

5 out of 5 stars MAkes Jesus real and here.......2000-07-31

One problem many people have with Christianity today is that Jesus seems so mystical and far away. We see Him as a robe clad person of 2000 years ago. Jones puts forth the idea of Jesus coming to us in the cloths of our day. That He is here with us and that His messages are relevant today in this world. Read a sction a day or just crusie through from start to finish. Just read and be comforted in the fact that there is a God here for us today.

5 out of 5 stars Enjoyable book.......1999-10-15

This book was a very good book to read, talking about everyday life the way Jesus would see it. I was captivated by her opening remark: I was in a field and I saw Jesus walking up to me in a pair of blue jeans. Why are you wearing those I asked? Because that's what you wear today.

Book Description

While researching the 2012 end-date of the Maya Calendar, John Major Jenkins decoded the Maya's galactic cosmology. The Maya discovered that the periodic alignment of the Sun with the center of the Milky Way galaxy is the formative influence on human evolution. These alignments also define a series of World Ages. The fourth age ends on December 21, 2012, when an epoch chapter in human history will come to an end. Maya Cosmogenisis 2012 reveals the Maya's insight into the cyclic nature of time, and prepares us for oue own cosmogenesis--the birth of a new world.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Fascinating book.......2007-09-27

Cosmogenesis 2012 is a compelling book about the meaning of the Mayan and Mesoamerican calendric images. It reveals evidence as to why the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012 along with explanations as to what this could entail for humanity. I recommend it for anyone interested in the end date of 2012.

5 out of 5 stars Maya Cosmogenesis 2012.......2007-03-09

This work of Jenkins was all and more than I thought it would be. I share his path to where we are going in 2012. I would purchase any work of Jenkins as I know I would not be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars 2012 Research starts here.......2007-02-18

John Major Jenkins has looked into the question of why the Maya ended their 13-baktun cycle in the Gregorian year 2012, and has researched the matter in incredible detail, and comes to conclusions that result from detailed study of many archaeological and specialist works. His study shows that the Maya deliberately targetted this point in time as the end of the cycle, and the evidence is found in king-accession rites, mythology, architecture, and the ball-game.

As you will know if you've read other reviews, the reason is the alignment of the winter solstice sun with the galactic equator - an event that happens only once in a cycle of precession - around 26,000 years. This IS NOT the "alignment of the solar system with galactic centre" or any of the other misrepresentatations of his work that have appeared.

This work stands whether or not anything noticeable happens in the years around 2012 - the fact is, that the Maya predicted that something would happen around 2012. This has become evident since the publication of this book, since the Tortuguero prophecy entered the public domain. In April 2005, the existence of Tortuguro monument 6 was revealed, (though known to a few specialists before that). The stela gives the end-date 4 Ahau, 3 Kankin, 13 Baktun (a combination of 3 calendars that gives the 21 December 2012 date) and gives an accompanying prophecy of the return of the Nine Gods.

2 out of 5 stars The real End Times on 2012.......2007-01-23

I will make the boldest prediction of all... and when the time comes, you will remember this. Great spirits have come to me... great spirits... They have revealed their predictions and they have revealed their secret names to me. Remember this well on 2102. The named spirits were Jackson Danniels, James Beehm, Jonathon Wocker, and the ancient Russian sage, Stolly Chanaya... And here is what they said - in telepathic visions to me: On January 1, 2012, this is what will happen:

"The year 2011 will now be 2012." And later that year, many peoples will predict the end times will again visit in 2039 and that they never really meant 2012... it was a telekinetic typo....

Full of interesting facts about the Mayan civilization, how they saw the earth and their brilliant understanding of the Universe. I now understand how the complex calendar works. As to the prophecy, yet again, we can only wait and see!

Book Description

What if everything you think you know about Jesus is wrong? In The Jesus Papers, Michael Baigent reveals the truth about Jesus's life and crucifixion. Despite—or rather because of—all the celebration and veneration that have surrounded the figure of Jesus for centuries, Baigent asserts that Jesus and the circumstances leading to his death have been heavily mythologized.

As a religious historian and a leading expert in the field of arcane knowledge, Baigent has unequaled access to hidden archives, secret societies, Masonic records, and the private collections of antiquities traders and their moneyed clients. Using that access to full advantage, Baigent explores the religious and political climate in which Jesus was born and raised, examining not only the conflicts between the Romans and the Jews, but the strife within the different factions of the Jewish Zealot movement. He chronicles the migrations of Jesus's family, his subsequent exposure to other cultures, and the events, teachings, and influences that were most likely to have shaped his early years. Baigent also uncovers the inconsistencies and biases in the accounts of the major historians of Jesus's time, including Josephus, Pliny, and Tacitus. The enduring influence of these accounts in forming our most common conceptions of Jesus reveals that spin is not a new phenomenon.

Taking us back to sites that over the last twenty years he has meticulously explored, studied, and in some instances excavated for the first time, Baigent provides a detailed account of his groundbreaking discoveries, including many never-before-seen photos. The evidence he has uncovered has lead him to make shocking new assertions that threaten the conventional account of Jesus's life and death and shake the very foundation of Western thought, based as it is upon the assumption of Jesus's divinity. Ultimately, his investigation raises the hope that we may gain a new understanding of Jesus.

Another person trying to disprove something they don't want to beleive. Ovewhelming evidence proves that Jesus was crucified. Nothing in this book disproves it, because nothing in this book can stand on its own.

4 out of 5 stars Compelling and fun, yet stretching at times.......2007-08-19

I would first like to state that I really enjoyed reading this book and the very original experiences the Mr. Biagent shares. As a truth seeker, I read every text as objectively as possible simply with the hope of learning, never to reaffirm my own beliefs or scour them in the hopes of criticizing others.

The fact is that Mr. Biagent is correct when he states there is little to no extra biblical evidence of Jesus. Perhaps there would have been more had the Vatican not destroyed any and every piece of evidence that didn't jive with the Gospel accounts. Christians often like to throw out Josephus as their trump card, but even the Christian apologist Lee Strobel (The Case for Christ) admits that the infamous passage is at least partially interpolated. 2 centuries after the death of Christ there was no mention of this passage in the comprehensive debates we have on record between Justin Martyr and Origen. Not one mention of Josephus. Why? Probably because it didn't exist and was interpolated at a later time.

The Jesus Papers does seem to stretch in some areas while in others proposing fascinating theories as to the life of Jesus and his possible travels. The idea that he might have survived the crucifiction seems far fetched to me personally, but nonetheless there is confusion on the gospel accounts as to those final moments of his life and time thereafter. In my view, it's this type of confusion that leads the door open for such theories.

In a perfect world, I would read this book again for a more comprehensive review. But to sum up the first go around, it was quite enjoyable and well written. Unfortunatley, many readers are simply too slanted and grounded in their own belief system to consider such thinking.

If you have an open mind, read this book. If nothing else, you will be entertained, and even a get a little history lesson while you're at it. Perhaps you'll find the text more sound, as a whole, then I did.

4 out of 5 stars Depends on if your open minded.......2007-08-17

My thoughts is that Baigent did do tons of research, and this is based on way more than a painting. If you are open to the possibly that Jesus may have been a wonderful "human" that could have been a great politician, this might be a good read for you. For those who can not go there, than this is not for you.
He got off track a couple times, and if he was next to me telling the story I would have smacked him. But when he got back on track I was back on board. It's a OK read, but not the greatest cover up in history.

1 out of 5 stars Supporting illusions..........2007-08-10

So continues on the scheme to deface and devalue Jesus Christ. I say if you have something to write about, put it on paper and back it up with some facts and sound theory. Everything else, highlighting this shabby attempt to further a mudslinging campaign, is a unthinkable strech of unsupported faith.

The inner teachings of early Christianity and the numerical symbolism of ancient solar divinities.

5 out of 5 stars It isn't called Jesus Christ SUN of God for nothing!.......2007-08-24

This is an eminently readable, well researched piece of work that I would recommend to anyone interested in the "hidden" origins of Christianity.

Fideler goes to great length to show the reader what you might call the evolutionary process that took place over centuries - in terms of spiritual ideas, religious thought, pagan practices, and related symbolism (especially concerning the Sun, the Solar Logos) - eventually culminating in an amalgamation that came to be known as Christianity.

Especially interesting to me was the section dealing with gematria, an ancient form of numerology - although I hesitate to use that term to describe it because gematria is definitely not your grandmother's drugstore paperback numerology. The author presents a detailed examination of how the Biblical tales of the 153 fish in the unbroken net and the feeding of the 5000 people by the magical multiplication of a few fish are actually "encoded" parables containing all the elements required to construct intricate, symbolic patterns of "sacred geometry". The reason I found Fideler's examination of the Greek gematria so fascinating is because I've spent several years exploring the possibility that the English language might also be "encoded" in such a way as to produce synchronistic alphanumeric "equations". For example, in the context of the title of this book, I found a remarkable equation using the simple code of A=1 through Z=26. It is this:

JESUS CHRIST SUN OF GOD = 252 = CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS

Just as I found this book to be a valuable and insightful addition to my personal area of research, I'm confident that others with interests in any of the concepts that Fideler deals with will find the book just as valuable.

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars An Intelligent Response to Fundamentalist Evangelical Christians.......2007-05-11

This book is a a treasure to anyone interested in Comparative Mythology/Religion. Like "The Jesus Mysteries", it presents historical facts that relate to the shared metaphors of world religious thought over thousands of years. Whereas "The Jesus Mysteries" is a wonderful introductory book for people new to the concepts presented, this work provides in depth considerations more geared to a well educated and/or intellectual reader. I keep buying copies, as I keep giving this book to fascinated friends. It is a fabulous work of scholarship, presented in wonderful ways.

5 out of 5 stars One of the very best books on early Christianity.......2006-05-24

David Fideler, PhD, has written a seminal work on ancient understandings of the cosmos and early Christian symbolism. Delving into sacred geometry, astronomy, and gematria, he explores the ancient world with meticulous scholarship and groundbreaking research and ideas. Replete with extensive diagrams and clear explanations, even for the lay person, this book is a must read for anyone interested in what really was indicated by many myths and parables of antiquity.

5 out of 5 stars An astonishing book - recommended.......2005-03-28

I pick up this book regularly at easter time and re read some of the wisdom of proportion it contains. Selecting chapters and appendices to combine with my current projects and other reading material. Synthesis is the name of my game. This year I have synthesised ancient gematria and divine proportion into a sales seminar.
If you have ever wondered about the origins of christianity and its relationship with the cultures of the mediteranean at the time of its origination. This is the book with the answers.

3 out of 5 stars Missing the Jewish Element.......2003-11-23

This author asserts pagan backgrounds to many Christian concepts and images. But he overlooks the fact that many of these concepts were in Judaism before much of a pagan influence crept in.

It makes more sense to think that most of these came from the Judaism of Jesus, rather than the paganism of the surrounding culture.

1 out of 5 stars Tedious.......2007-07-26

"Tedious" is the word I would use to describe my experience with this book and that's not the experience I'm looking for. The other Cayce books that I've read on Reincarnation, Atlantis, and Prophecy were easy to read and fascinating. What I found difficult was the author's explanation of the Readings and the Readings themselves. I found myself reacting after each Reading with "Huh? What is he talking about?" Believe me, I mean no disrepect towards Mr. Cayce and his work. I just found the book difficult to digest. Perhaps now wasn't the time to read it.

3 out of 5 stars Chaotic but fun to read........2006-11-10

Overall, the presenting of the material is a bit, confusing and scattered. BUT, if one has some background experience and understanding of current scripture, one can identify those areas of interest as one reads the text, and have fun with comparing "visions" to scriptural reference.

5 out of 5 stars Edgar Cayce's Story of Jesus.......2006-07-01

Anyone that is familar with Edgar Cayce's work will regard this book as authentic information. I read this books years ago and at the time it was a learning experience. I found the Readings in the book helped me understand and except myself. To me the book helps explain the individuals relationship to our Maker. The book is easy to read and understand.

5 out of 5 stars GREATER AWARENESS !! UNDERSTANDING HERE.......2006-04-29

I have read other books by authors that have compiled Edgar Cayce's material. In comparison, Jeffery Furst has done a great job here. I love this book!!! It strengthened my awareness and understanding on the human race and our relationship with the Creator, Jesus, Angels and many others. I truly felt more love in my heart for self and others, our connectedness, Law Of The One.
I was raised a Catholic, graduated from a Catholic college. And indeed it was the education that I received that shook my foundations of what I "know" as truth. I am still a Catholic today.

I highly reccomend this book. For persons who have not read very much of Cayce's material > it may seem a bit disjointed at first (his readings) but be patient, the flow after a while will begin to make sense. Seasoned readers of Cayce's materials can jump right into this one and get the point very easily.

The book start with Genesis, the real genesis before Adam and Eve's time. This is going back to the time of Atlantis and beyond. It enlightens the reader about the "First Thought Projections" upon the earth (soul forms) made from the Creator. How the angelic beings became en-meshed with human forms of all kinds (animal, plants, mamals and ets.) Proceeding to how other Thought Forms (souls) entered the earth to help release the en-meshed forms. That is just the beginning. After that, Adam and Eve are made by the Creator to perfect the image of his likeness and to inherit the earth.

Essentially, says Cayce, through-out our life our life purpose is to LOVE and HELP each other as we are all "Projected Thought Forms" Our form today is the resulting God Created image. We must all remember where we come from > The Creator - God > the One God. It is our job to remember thus and grow towards the beings of light that we truly are.

Cayce further talks about where the five races came from: the White People are from Carparthia, the Yellow Poeple are from the Gobi area, The Red People are from Atlantean & America, Brown People are from the Andean and the Black People are from the Plain and the Sudan or in the African.

Jeffery Furst begins his compilation of Cayce's material from the Genesis to gain a foundation for the bulk of material that is written; namely the story of Jesus.
It is true that when we love another, we want to know and understand that person (s) in every way possible, we want to be good to that person, giving and kind. That's the way this book is written, Furst put together as much material as possible so that we could understand and fully grasp in a much greater reality and tangibility of the the Living Christ, every day/night.
Cayce was ahead of his time for the area that he lived. I am certain Orthodox Christian people found it very hard to accept his purpose in life, one of assisting others toward God through his gift of "readings." It is said that in all great visionaries, and certainly this can be applied to Christ, that there is a three step stage > 1. First there is Ridicule, 2. second there is Opposition and 3. finally Acceptance!

Thank you, MK

1 out of 5 stars Read this book. You will like Jesus the Christ........2002-05-20

I am not a Christian the way your traditional doctrines define Christian. However, I do believe in The Christ. He is an amazing role model for us all. Knowing about his real story does not change that. It shouldn't change that. Cayce's information fills in many gaps left by the Bible. For those who choose to use the Bible as their only source, this book will scare them because it shakes the foundations upon which their faith is based.

Others of us will enjoy the Story; take comfort in it and perhaps become inspired by it.

If you are non-traditional Christian, a person brought up in a Structured and flawed church (as was I), a pagan, Witch, Spiritualist, atheist... Read this book You will like Jesus The Christ.
