4 out of 5 stars I love to read and I love God's Word.......2006-03-13

I really love to read although I do not have a lot of time to do so presently. I went to a Biblical research college and I did not want and "edited" version of an audio Bible, nor did I want a dramatized version or music behind it (I find that too distracting). I qualified for free shipping and my order came much faster than I anticipated, or even as stated when I completed the purchase. Amazon was very helpful when I asked if a different audio Bible came in a case or not. This one came in a nice case. I was already familiar with Alexander Scourby (which is who reads the Old Testament of this order) and was not aware that James Earl Jones reads the New Testament. It is very pleasant, but a bit too soothing for a long road trip. I am very pleased with my order and will be an Amazon customer for life!
If you just want to hear the Bible without anything subtracted or added, this is a great deal!!! Vicki lifetime Bible student

5 out of 5 stars Listening to the Scriptures.......2007-10-01

I purchased these cds for my mother, since she is now unable to read the Bible. They are bringing great joy to her.

It was a gift for someone, and he enjoyed it. It gets no better than James Earl Jones, afterall.

5 out of 5 stars Bible on CD.......2007-08-09

I am a full-time college student and I am left with no brain energy to read or study the bible after classes and studying. I enjoy listening to the Bible during my commute. I am listening to each CD twice as suggested by another Amazon customer and I really feel I am getting great context through listening. These CD's have been a blessing to my busy life

5 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but excellent!.......2007-08-01

I am totally enthralled with this CD set of the Holy Bible. I like the reader of the Old Testament better than the New Testament, but I like the idea that there are two different voices. I have found a couple of glitches, like where the end of a chapter gets cut off abruptly and then the next chapter begins. This however was not enough in my opinion to give less than the best grade.

It totally amazes me how much I understand just listening to the CDs. I thought I was going to listen while I read and this would keep me "on track," so to speak, but I find I enjoy just listening, and this way I rest my eyes, and also get great comprehension. I personally don't find I get much comprehension while driving, but others have commented to the opposite, and I can't disprove what they say, it's just this isn't an application that works for me.

If any producers of Bibles on CD are reading, I would like to give my "suggestions" for improvement. I would like no CD to start or end in the middle of a chapter. My utmost preference would be for each Bible book to be on its own CD, I realize that some of smaller books would have to be combined onto a single CD, and I also realize my "suggestion" would mean the CDs weren't all of equal time length, that's just the way I would like it! I also think I would enjoy a variety of voices in the complete set, perhaps a female voice, even a youth's or child's voice (but of course with clear pronunciation and soothing tonal quality.

All in all, I think this is a great CD set. I would recommend it highly as a gift for anyone who loves the Bible. The carrying case is also great, I didn't expect that and it's beautiful and useful and and "serendipity."

5 out of 5 stars A GREAT GIFT.......2007-07-30

THIS IS A GREAT GIFT FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS DIFFICULTY READING,SEEING, ETC. OR FOR THE PERSON WHO WANTS TO LISTEN AND MEDITATE ON THE WORD.

5 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised - Great Price, Not so hard to read and well worth it!.......2007-09-17

I just ordered this 1611 KJV and must say, I'm pleasantly surprised. It's much nicer than I anticipated. I'm not a fan of most modern day translations but I'm also not a Bible scholar who wants to spend my time cross referencing or researching each and every word from the original greek or hebrew. Having said that, I've been interested in reviewing several versions of the Bible from a historical perspective and this one was high on my list [others inclined toward this who may be "newbies" such as myself, may also be interested in other transitional Bibles including the Geneva, Matthew Tyndale, New American Standard and of course - the Jewish Bible].

One of my criteria was that it be affordable since I really wasn't sure if I would enjoy it or not. At $20 this is suprisingly nice. Yes, the font is slighly smaller than I would appreciate but still readable for most people. The pages are thin like in many older Bible versions. The book smells nice...for those of you who are older and remember how nice new books smelled then you will know what I mean. Sturdy cover but supple enough that it shouldn't crease. Overall, no complaints on the construction of the book itself. It's not fancy by any means but rather a basic, no frills but acceptable quality book.

The content. Having been familiar with the typical KJV and the typical concept of what the Bible included -and didn't include - I was surprised to find the additional books in the 1611 version (and Geneva version). Admittedly, I was one of those who had been taught those were "Catholic" bibles and since I wasn't Catholic then obviously there was no need to read them. Whether read as an interesting side note or taken as divine inspiration (I'll leave that to the discernment of the individual reader) these are well worth the time to read. Other content that has been mentioned in other reviews is also quite interesting - such as the charts etc...

The readability. Don't be put off by this! Yes, it does indeed use an older version than even that of the more familiar KJV however, I find it surprisingly easy to read in a very short period of time. I was actually expecting it to be much worse and was pleasantly surprised how quickly you can overlook the variations.

All in all, I thank the publisher for making this available in a durable, cost effective manner.

1 out of 5 stars Questions.......2007-09-11

Friends, I am interested in buying this book. The reviews confuse me, which I suppose is easy to do.

Q: Is this a facsimile of the original 1611, in Gothic black-letter font, or is it a facsimile of a later printing in Roman type (or other)?

Q: If a later printing, which one? Is it actually a modern facsimile, perhaps, of a 1911 "300th Anniversary" edition?

Q: What is the point size of the body text? "Small" is relative, to me.

Q: Does it contain ALL the front matter (any charts, geneologies, etc) or just a subset, such as only the translator's notes?

Q: The photograph of the cover is unhelpful. Is there an available photograph of a page of text?

Many thanks.

4 out of 5 stars Not changed........2007-08-23

This Bible is great from a couple of points. First is historical. One can see how the first printing looked. Second, is practical. Here a person can answer the skeptic with regards to changes in the KJV. There aren't any. Changing font types and cleaning up typos do not count as a revision. Removing the apocrapha doesn't either since the KJV translators did not consider it to be inspired text. The KJV of today says the same thing the KJV of 1611 said--only without the typos and with spelling standardized. This version proves that.

4 out of 5 stars Just missing the Gothic script.......2007-08-15

This reprint uses Roman script rather than the original Gothic yet it accurately reproduces other fine details such as the first word on any page being printed below the final line of the previous page. This edition is quite beautiful and may easily be read once familiar with the style of text. It includes the table for calculating Easter and other parts of the original printing no longer included in most modern printings.
Even for those not planning on reading it, this edition makes a lovely display with its boarders and capital letters at the beginnning of each chapter.
A few sections are difficult to read due to the reduced size of the printing yet none of these are in the main text.
The inclusion of all the books in the original printing benefits readers who, in these modern times, so often ignore these valuable historical portions of the Holy Scriptures even when they are aware of them.
This edition also includes the translators notes (albeit they are fairly few compared to the Bishops Bible).
Would certainly recommend this edition unless you would rather an edition which is easy to read, then buy the one with the face of Jeremiah the prophet on the cover but ignore it's notes as they are fairly poor. This edition has superior notes although they are fewer.

5 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE.......2007-07-27

The original, it is a challenge. You read the Word, it is hard and makes each Word not easy to ever forget.

5 out of 5 stars Dogma for the Sexually Deranged.......2007-03-22

The "Word of God" has had a huge impact on my life, in particular, and on the course of human history in the West in general, naturally. This review is my attempt to register my aversion and annoyance for a very distressing trend by spewing electrons of resentment and protest into the ether. That trend that bothers me so much? America's irrational trend toward what one famous astronomer called a "demon haunted world."

Can anyone have faith in the progress of the human race in light of the number of people who anchor their entire existence on a pack of self-contradictory fictions? Believers who attack religious skeptics for being critical of the current attempt to foist theocracy upon us (by the politicized evangelical right in America) are not inclined to use reason, so there is no point in dialogue. But there are good points to be made in protest. What is most ironic, not most surprising, is the un-Christian lack of charity X-tians display in confronting what the skeptic is saying. All paradoxes are really only apparent. That is what X-tians represent: belief in a god that is worse than the devil they also seem to think they need; talk of charity is a Christian smoke screen. Belief in this omnipotent beast is like having an imaginary older brother to beat up your school-yard enemies. Some should read their folklore more carefully. God-sanctioned infanticide inflicted on his people's enemies is common. Young girls raped to death to prove a point for God -- yes, that's in the holy scripture. Start with Genesis and work your way through Joshua or one of the Samuels if you think this mythology a harmless benevolent spiritualism, the reverence for an all-loving god. What complete nonsense. It won't shock, I hope, to say that many believers are completely on board with the idea of frying most of us nonbelievers in hell. That's in keeping. Our loving god became so exasperated by a harmless but intransigent fig tree that he felt he needed to curse it and kill it---one example among many of Jesus's so-called love. Sermon on the Mount notwithstanding, Jesus obviously demanded unquestioning allegiance on par with the feudalistic fealty demanded by Hellenistic monarchs. Of course, the apparent truth of all that depends upon if the literary Jesus actually existed, a figure for whom there is no real evidence to be found in history. The Canonical Christ being a composite, comic-bookish superhero meant to cow darkages peasants to bend to Rome's will, we'll never know the real man. The "facts" of his so-called "life" in the Gospels really point to the history of his brother James; it is unlikely the redacted Gospels have very much substantive truth about the real man we call Jesus (i.e. Joshua). Reading between the historical lines suggests the real Jesus was very likely a zealot, given the company he kept, a sword-carrying Roman hater who was crucified per the imperial norm for political rebels and "inovators." The one or possibly two historical references to his name suggest he was indeed a political rebel. Let us hope religious sentiment today in the face of reason is analogous to the flare-up of a candle just before extinction. That at least is an encouraging thought, something to keep in mind. The world will one day be a better place, the day all dogmatic superstition is relegated to our darkened past. Credo quia absurdum.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent buy.......2007-01-05

This is a good study Bible. King James is the only way to go - the only true word of God. This has good references.

Easy to read and understand, plus the Commentary really explain and break it down to my understanding. Just a Great Awesome Bible!!

5 out of 5 stars Great Study Bible!.......2006-11-04

What's to say about the bible: The most important book in the world! But if you're not satisfied with just reading it, and actually want to study what the deepest meanings are: This is the bible of choice! It offers years of offerings from some of the most respected religious leaders of our time and is most impressive with it's vast knowledge base of information that literally makes you a scholar of the word. For anyone wanting more from God's amazing arsenal of scriptural content, look no further! You'll be most pleased! I highly recommend this bible for a gift item to those just learning about the word as well. Either way, it's a great purchase!

5 out of 5 stars The Word of God.......2006-08-23

This King James Study Bible is excellent. There is a lot of history about who wrote each book, an outline at the beginning of each book to help find scripture and a breakdown of scripture when necessary.

I have come back to the Lord and this Bible has helped me greatly in my daily Bible study. It is my opinion that the KJV bible is the true words of the Lord.

I highly recommend this Bible to others seeking the Word of God.

5 out of 5 stars Query About This Bible.......2002-03-31

This is a very beautiful keepsake Bible, with fantastic artwork!
I have a query about this Bible. The content page says that there are Bible maps after the concordance. But mine does not have it. I was just wondering if it is only my copy which is like that or is everyone else's copy also without the maps at the back. Would appreciate it very much if anyone could write an answer on this review page.
(I am unable to check with the publishers as I was unable to locate their mailing address on the internet.)

Thank you very much!!

are beautiful. The print is large enough so I can read
without my glasses and the guides are very easy to follow.
I am very pleased that I was able to find this kind of
quality without leaving my home.

4 out of 5 stars An Interesting Translation, But Not To Learn On........2000-05-10

Since my father was a devout Anglo Catholic, the "King James" was the translation I first read. In my opinion this translation is best read after one has an understanding of the scriptures. Remember, neither Christ nor the Apostles spoke Elizabethan. In my opinion, one should learn the Scriptures on something like the Revised Standard. (One that is plain and easy to read.) After one has an understanding of the scriptures, then this version is a beautiful study.

2 out of 5 stars Not bad, but a little predictable........1999-06-15

Not bad overall, but I mean, C'mon... who couldn't see that ending coming. And who hasn't heard of Jona before, and you think he wouldn't have stolen a story so well known as the Arc.

1 out of 5 stars Brilliant artwork flawed by unimaginative text.......1997-12-21

The King James version of the bible is, at best, a poor example of what can be done with the translation. While the bible is often said to be one of the finest fictions ever created, I beg to differ with this mainstream view.
In a nutshell, the beginning was boring and it has no real ending. One assumes the author(s) were hoping for another sequel after the New Testament. It is clear that the author(s) felt themselves restrained. A vast improvement would be to simply NOT gloss over the various begatings. Let the reader live with the characters, get into their skin. Had the author(s) only done this I might be able to be more enthusiastic. As it is, this is no more than a bathroom book for when I forget to bring one with me.

5 out of 5 stars Great All Around.......2007-04-05

The KJV with Scourby and no music. Can't beat that. I have an audio NIV with an actor with a magnigicent voice but the drama and music bed get tiresome after awhile. This is clean and great for repeated listening.

3 out of 5 stars There is a Price for Convenience.......2007-02-18

For what it is, I think that the price is great. I can take the MP3s straight from the DVD to my MP3 player and I'm ready to go; however, the sound quality of the files, at least to my ears, are noticeably inferior to your average book on cassette (to me, it sounds as though they recorded a phone call of Alexander Scourby reading the Bible...and they put reverb on it). I would have been better satisfied had I paid the extra money for the CD set and ripped MP3s from it myself.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product.......2007-02-15

Very easy to use. Just cut and paste files into computer. All are named properly so whatever mp3 program you have organizes the info properly to transfer to your mp3 player.

There is a slight noticeable echo. So if you need the perfect crisp sound of scourby, this is not for you. (this is only when you transfer to a mp3 device.)

5 out of 5 stars scott's review.......2007-02-08

Really nice. You can copy the files to a computer via their software and can pick and choose to listen from your computer, or you can 'explore' the CDs and copy them 'manually'. I copied the mp3 files to a pen drive and bought an FM transmitter to play the entire bible from the 2GB pen drive when in my car.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!.......2007-02-06

4 out of 5 stars Big Print, Strange Words..........2007-10-04

The product was great, in my opinion, even if it was hard to read. The print was big enough, yes, but I guess this isn't the "beginner's Bible" since it was written in ye olde english.... I'd start with a NIV personally if you're new to God's word, like I am.... It's great for cross-referencing though!!

5 out of 5 stars A review of Biblical proportions!!.......2007-08-01

Ok, here we go with a review of perhaps the longest book ever! Growing up I noticed that every house I have ever been to has had this book somewhere inside! I grew curious but whenever I asked them about it they told me they never really read it. "This is peculiar!" I thought, "A book that everyone has but nobody reads!" Well, at one point I decided it was time, I picked up a copy, my house had one too of course and began to dig in.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth." Wow, now when this author was told to start at the beginning he took it seriously! I was immediately intrigued however, in school they told us that monkeys made the Earth or something. I read on. Well, turns out that God made, man and animals too, and just about everything else. Except for computers and stuff I guess.

Well, Man gets off to a rough start and starts killing people right away. They have sex with about anything and the world is falling apart. So God has the only good man left build a huge boat and live in it with his family while God floods the Earth.

Things aren't much better after that, Man is still killing and having sex with stuff. God enacts, plan 2. He reminds a guy in Babylon that there is only one God and man is worshiping statues instead of him. So he tells the guy that if he leaves everything he has and goes to some far off place he will make them into a mighty race and will act as his ambassadors to Earth.

He figures what the hey and goes with it. He settles in a land called Canaan. A bunch of weird stuff happens but they live ok I guess. Until his descendants have one heck of a drought and can't live there anymore. So they move to Egypt.

All is well and good because Egypt is rich and pretty much the height of civilization. Think of it like America is today. But the Egyptians find out early on that if they make the Jews(God's people) do the work, they won't have to. This at first seems like a good idea, but they picked the wrong people to mess with because they have the Creator on their side. After a few hundred years of this a man named Moses tells them to leave and go back to their homeland.

They have a hard time doing this but, long story short they make it out of there and get back to their homeland. After a 40 year freakout in the desert that is. You see, Moses turned them on to some tablets that will change them forever. God gives him Ten laws to live by. And then a few hundred more. I mean there are pages and pages of this book that has to do with these laws, what they can eat, what to do if they get sick, what punishments for breaking laws should be, and so on and so forth.

Moving on. There's a problem though. Their homeland has been taken over by some mean dudes. And I mean mean. They are giants and they are keeping this land for themselves. So the Jews form an army and get ready to kick some but. They drive the johnny-come-latelys out on their kiesters.

Well, they set their government up so that these Judges rule everything. The Jews don't like this though, they want to keep up with the Joneses and have a King like everyone else. God is like, "Hello, I'm your king, remember?" But he gives in and has this Saul guy take charge.

Things are ok until Saul discovers that he pretty much rules the roost. After all God said he could rule these people so he might as well have fun doing it. Saul does such a bad job that they decide to get a new king. So they say David is going to be their king. So David is the king now and he is awesome. He takes over the rest of the homeland, and makes the country pretty rich, he writes poetry and music, and well he can do it all. He eventually kicks the bucket however, and Solomon takes control. He's okay at first, he builds them a huge temple. But he starts marrying women like crazy from all over the world and they worship some crazy gods.

After that Isreal, Canaan's new name, is split into two. The north decides they don't want God anymore, but the south is still cool with him. They both get taken over by Babylon anyway. Babylon takes the Jews into Babylon, (Where they came from!) and enslaves them. Looks like it was out of the frying pan and into the fire. God has some people talk to the Jews for him, prophets and the next few hundred pages are writings by these prophets about what the heck is going to happen to them.

The Jews eventually get back to Isreal and are like, okay we are going to play by God's rules this time. The book then fast forwards a couple hundred years. Rome owns Isreal now and Isreal is like it's B*tch. God is like, I told you I was going to send you a king that would make Isreal powerful again so here goes. He has Mary give birth to his Son and his Son is going to be the new King.

The king's name is Jesus, he is prett important because the next 4 chapters are about him. And he is like, God told you I was coming and you thought I was going to save you. Turns out I am going to save everybody, not by force though. The Jews are like, it better be by force, these Romans are bugging the heck out of us. But Jesus tells them to love their enemies and the he is going to die so that everyone, even the non-Jews can go to heaven. The Jews are like, okay so this guy isn't our new King after all. So he eventually is arrested and the Jews don't want him and the Romans don't know what to do with him so they kill him. Jesus is like, I told you this was going to happen, don't worry about it.

A few days later Jesus is back but just for a little bit, he tells the apostles it is up to them now, they have to spread his message of salvation so that everyone can be saved. In the next book, the disciples are called Christians and they set up churches all over the place. There is a Jewish guy named Saul that really hates Christians and kills them, but then he turns to God and realizes that Jesus was the king after all. Most of the rest of this book is written by him and it is filled with how a Christan should live.

Things aren't over yet, there is still the shocking climax. We've been told what happened, now we are going to learn about what is going to happen. The world gets worse and worse and Christians are being persecuted everywhere. So Jesus is not going to take it anymore. God and he begin to begin to start some havic on Earth, nobody listens though because they no longer believe in him. Before unleashing the wrath though, Jesus comes back to Earth to take his followers out, and then comes back to kick some butt. He knocks this Anti-Christ guy out of office and becomes the king of Isreal.

Things are going well until Satan comes back to take over Earth again. Satan is mentioned throughout the book as well.He is the Antagonist of the book and has been messing with God for some time now. As a matter of fact he is in the very beginning of the book when man starts messing up, so God is like, I'm sending someone to take care of you so keep it up and see what happens.

Anyway, Jesus finally shows Satan who is boss and throws him into an eternal fire along with the Anti-Christ guy. God and him then destroy the Earth one last time and make a new one for the Christians, and the Jews I guess, to live.

Phew, that was not an easy review. But it was not an easy book either. It took about 4 years, reading on and off, to finish it. I highly recommend it though. While reading it I discovered that there are a lot of places that have banned the book, like public schools. Especially Science classes because the teachers would give me really dirty looks when I brought it to class. They would tell me that monkey's made people, not God. I don't think God would lie about this though. If the monkey's made us it would be in this book. Plus, if you have every seen a monkey, they don't really look capable of doing anything really.

Long story short, check this book out. It won't cost you anything because, as I said, every house comes equipped with one.

5 out of 5 stars Difference Maker.......2007-05-09

The Holy Bible is not only the world's all-time best-selling book ever, it's the closest thing to an actual dialogue with God that most of us will ever experience. It is prescient, prophetic, profound, and priceless!
It's truths have inspired the rise of nations, predicted the fall of kingdoms, and indespensibly contributed to the familial and societal stability that made civilization possible. It has been the guiding force behind the three big religions; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. And it gives many stunningly accurate prophecies for what later happened in history. Finally, it tells what will happen to all humankind, indeed, it predicts the destruction of this world, and the creation of a new world with Christ as King. If you read the Bible you will never be the same again. Even if you vehemently disagree with it, it will shift your paradigm as nothing else ever has in your life, and like nothing ever will.

5 out of 5 stars Best Bible for your Buck!.......2007-03-26

I wanted a large print bible for my children and this one is perfect. I bought one for each (4) and we are all able to read along together. There are also page numbers which help when the younger ones have trouble locating a book or a chapter. There are no margins to write notes in, but they are very good for reading scripture and you cannot beat the price.

5 out of 5 stars Life changing investment........2007-08-23

This bible has taken me much deeper in my understanding of the Word. Every morning when I open this book I am challenged and educated on biblical history, His Story.

I highly recommend this book for the mature believer who is looking to dive deeper into the Word of God.

5 out of 5 stars The New Spirit-Filled Life Bible IS A MUST.......2007-07-13

I have many Bibles in my personal library comprising many translations and I must say without a doubt that this is the number one. All of the many features listed in the description have so far delivered as claimed. The "Word Wealth" through-out the book is very helpful, fabulous in depth book introductions, Kingdom Dynamics, it is also annotated, and has plenty of pages for notes in the back. There are tons of other features in this Bible that I haven't even gotten to yet and that I haven't the space to list here, I am just very excited to own this Bible. I am also pleased that Jack Hayford is the managing editor. As far as the translation - this is the first New King James Version that I have owned and it is already my favorite translation, combining the beauty of the KJV with a little easier readability. I have only had to refer to the NASB or others a couple of times to try and get a little more concise clarification, however, I am sure that I will get used to it rapidly.

As far as book construction, Nelson has done a fine job. Nice leather cover that lays flat, if you highlight you will need the Zebra brand or one that doesn't bleed. It is also thumb indexed which even though that is typically a feature that adds value to the price, I personally could live without it, but that is a minor issue. There is maybe a 3/8" margin for notes so write small, however, there is so much useful info. on each page I have found that alot of the notes that I transfered from my other Bible all I had to do was underline or highlight the notes that were already existing on the same page in this Bible.

In closing, it is my opinion that any and all Christians can strengthen their knowledge of the Lord using this Bible in their daily walk. Once, again, I can not stress enough how much I love this Bible and this translation, Nelson has a homerun here!

5 out of 5 stars A BIBLE TO LAST YOUR ENTIRE LIFE~!.......2007-02-09

I had a hard time picking out a bible for myself because I research, and I love the Amplified version too. However, this bible with its' WORD WEALTH, and fantastic footnotes, helps etc is a lifetime resource. I am happy for the tabbed pages, however, they have grouped books together, like 3 or 4 into one tab so it still does take time to find what you are looking for. The gilt edged pages are really true gold colored. The pages are thin but strong, the binding is flexible. Mine arrived with a scratch on the cover but I so needed a bible i figured it would be ok. I only wish it came in more than one color. I think Jack Hayford and team did an excellent Job on this NKJV and I have found the enormous wealth of studies so vast that It will definitely take a lifetime to study. I HIGHLY recommend this bible as a first or as an additional resource!

5 out of 5 stars Great looking and layed out bible.......2007-01-04

I had done a ton of research for a real good referance bible with being able to look at any while at sea. this was a great choice everything I was looking for with two book tabs, great referances, concordance, and many extras. Do your self a favor and make the Purchase, you won't be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars The Best Book Ever Made- Auth orized Version.......2007-08-25

This is a reprint of the original first edition of the King James Bible made by King James himself in the 1500s. Martin Luther's Die Bibel and Luther's works influenced the this, the first English translation of the Bible. It is the best selling book of all time, the most widely read book in world history in the English language, with the King James being the standard all bibles are judged by conservative right wing groups. The main parts are Genesis and Revelations as well as John and other parts detailing Jesus Christ and his ministry. John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. Moses recieved the 10 commandments. The world was created by God at the beginning of time in 7 days. Noah's Ark sees a worldwide flood. Every race originated from Sodom and Gomorrah. Jesus is deemed a heretic by the Pantheons is crucified along with Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus leading to the crucifixion. To me, the Bible is a timeless moral tale of salvation and not some corny self help thing. It is important to memorize parts of the Bible accurately but not every single book verbatim. Yes, it is printed in China to save on consumer cost as well as the cost to the publisher. From around the world so you're not such a geek. King James was the King of England in the days of Martin Luther some time in the 1500s, offering this Bible to the people of England that you had to be royalty to live there. It is pretty spooky, but it's classic.

this was a gift for my mother. it was shipped out immediately and she loved it.

5 out of 5 stars just perfect.......2007-01-06

In my opinion this bible is worth every cent of it. Good quality, not too heavy, and very cheap. I guess cause it is printed in China for this publisher. Not only nice as a gift, but also for personal use.

5 out of 5 stars The Holy Bible: King James Version.......2006-08-26

I feel good about the bible. My only views is that I was sending this Bible to a Jail and they returned it but they allowed him to recieve other books like The Measure of a Man. I feel like that everyone should be allowed to read a bible and never returned to the provider for any odd reason. I thinks this is stopping people from believing there own beliefs.

4 out of 5 stars A very fluid read........2007-09-10

Reading the New King James Version Holy Bible has allowed me to have a more fluid reading experience. With its read-along references, use of present-day English and punctuation has eliminated my usual textual stumbling.

Perhaps biblical scholars and my betters will strongly disagree, however this version brings the Word to me clearly.
