An anointed blessing for old-time Christians.......2007-09-08
I recommend this book to my fellow brother's and sister's in the LORD.It's truely an anointed and deep study in the Word of God. Helps to understand subjects in the Bible alot easier and may even teach some things never known before or often overlooked in the Bible. I hope and pray that any child of God that gets to possess this book will be blessed; but always remember, don't let this book (no matter how good it is) take the place of the Bible or Bible reading. Don't forget to always take your Bible with you when reading this book because it's an excellant study in scripture(s)and always pray over your reading! God bless! And remember,Jesus loves you and He's coming soon!

Thousands of years after the birth of Christianity, generations of Theologians has come and gone, many more thousands of different sects of the Christianity, not to mention the fact that we can't even get a room-full of Christian Apologetics to agree on what God is all about .....Yet along comes Finis J., Sr Dake with his book and figured it all out.... OH PLEASE!!!!! Let me remind Finis and my fellow readers of what god himself had said:

55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Therefore, to pretend to know gods plan is nothing short of buffoonery.

This book will only appeal to two types of people: Those who like a very literal approach to interpretation and those who like non-conventional theory regarding Creation and the subject of angels, demons, giants and other less discussed topics in Genesis and world history. Dake amazingly merges all this in his huge volume of small print theological meat. From eternity past to eternity future and all in between is included. It is a library of information. It may be the only theological treatise you need alongside your favorite Bible. It is his magnum opus and rightly so. But if you are looking for lightweight, non-literal, allegorical, thin and politically correct approach, steer away from this, as it will infuriate you!
One of the greatest Biblical study aids ever..........2004-11-25
I have used God's Plan for Man for approximately 5 years now and it has been a continual reference to draw from. It also was a great reference to use during my time within our church's seminary school. I originally purchased this from Dake Publishing and then later bought one through another Christian book distributor. I have come to understand the word of God in greater detail and clarity through its use and it truly is like a Bible School in and of itself. The only thing it doesn't do for you is pray for you and read itself to you. Dake does have tapes on his website that are recorded teachings for God's Plan for Man.
We can see the influence of men like C.I. Scofield and Clarence Larkin upon Dake's dispensational teachings (which he refines) and he thoroughly explains each time period, using scripture as the final authority. Many critics do not understand what he taught, have never heard him or seen him teach and would probably be silenced if he were alive today. Those that say he is responsible for certain Charismatic movements or some of their confused theology do not truly know what he taught. God's Plan for Man is that reference and at times I have found it to be more explanatory than the Dake Annotated Bible. It is also strange that many of his critics do not believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, hold on to unconditional enternal security, do not take the Bible literally and may even beleive that the Bible is not inerrant. I personally do not believe in being "slain in the Spirit" and many other confused Charismatic practices. I follow more of the old (think 50 years ago when they were still Holiness) Church of God and Assemblies of God teachings.
I also recommend that folks go out to the Dake.com website for other information, books, tapes and software that have been produced from the information that was compiled by Dake.

What is interested to the educated reader (Christian) is the author's use of the formed Earth in describing how the modern science and the book of Genesis do not condridict one another. That and the idea of the pink elephant . . .
Planting the Seed.......2001-06-16
I was waiting for a friend to finish his grocery shopping when I spotted a tent sale. Every woman loves tent sales. Well I went in and found it was all books. So I browsed and came across your book, "The Revelation of Truth". I purchased it, took it home and read it. It is one of the most heart compelling books I have ever read.
I have a friend at work that is constantly at odds with her spouse. Her father is a Minister here in Virginia and she was familiar with your Church. Well, I went the following weekend to the same tent sale, thank God it was still there, and purchased two more copies. I gave one to my friend for her and her spouse to read. I thought this might bring them closer. She says they sit and discuss the book together. I'm praying this book will open their eyes to the reality of life with God.
Last weekend I was on my way to see my daughter in the hospital in San Antonio, Texas. While on the plane, a lady asked to see the book I was reading. She enjoyed the first few pages so much and said she was going to go purchase it. Having read the chapter on "Age of Conscience" I knew if I didn't give her the extra copy I was carrying in my bag to give to my sister, I was not going to feel at ease the rest of the trip. So, I gave her the extra copy I had. It made me feel better knowing how thankful she was. However, when I got home and my sister happened to see my book on the table, she began to read it and asked to borrow it. Again I was reminded of that chapter...I told her my plans were to bring her a copy but I gave it to a lady I met on the plane. I felt so bad because I wanted to surprise my sister with a copy. I still felt guilty because I didn't want to part with my copy and only because I highlighted several sections of the book. I did promise I would send her one as soon as I got back.
Well I carry this book with me because I like to refer back to it periodically. I went to go see my doctor and he too noticed the book. He said he would like to read it. I mentioned to him what had happened with my sister's book. I didn't tell him, but when I go get a copy for my sister I plan to pick up one for him as well. After our visit he said the kindest thing that anyone has ever said to me. He said "Diane, you're planting the seed". I never looked at it that way. I was just so taken by the context of the book that I wanted to share it with friends and family.
I do not claim to be a saint...the Lord knows I am not. Like many I have suffered and sinned and I wish I could say I will sin no more. But I do know the Lord has something good in store for me...I feel He has already revealed it to me. But like many, I cover my ears at times and don't want to listen because I know what it is I have to do. I don't fear death because my faith is strong. I thank Him everyday for my faith and pray that I will be among the chosen ones to spend eternity in His devine presence. I look forward to the day that John the Revelator wrote of: "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." (Rev. 21:4 NKJV).
I sincerely thank you for sharing this wonderful gift of knowledge with me and the world. It has brought to me a whole new outlook on my life. Mil Gracias...
Genesis on Bible Prophecy.......2001-05-08
Another good prophecy book by Pastor Hagee. In this one, he covers 30 Revelations of Truth that we can find in the book of Genesis. From the Garden of Eden, to Joseph, and how it relates to prohecies fulfilled and those yet to be fulfilled. Hagee demonstrates a deep study and knowledge of the Hebrew culture. He also describes the 7 ages of Dispensation. From the Age of Creation to the Age to Come, the Kingdom of God. Worth picking up this book, if you are interested in Bible Prophecy and the book of Genesis.

I loved Dr. Seaman's book. The title promises strong revelation on the subject of our unfolding purpose and destiny with the Lord and the book really delivers! Dr. Seaman said things in ways that I had not heard them before, and caused me to reconsider concepts that I thought I understood. I found the book to be a great read and very eye-opening. Don't be put off by the ever-abundant references to the womb. This book has the potential to be life-changing for anyone even remotely interested in becoming the person God has ordained for them to be.

The main message of this wonderful book is We Are Not Alone!! We can choose to work within partnership with God. The message of this book is that we all have the potential to take charge of our lives and assume the mantel of Master of Greatness. This mastership is not over others, but over ourselves and our lives. It is a message about letting go of fear thoughts and doubts; how to claim the Good that is ours and be a catalyst for Good for the planet. It is a message of hope, truth and great promise. Reading this book filled me with inspiration for stepping into the life that is promised as possible for each of us by all the great masters.

Great News for a Half-Paralyzed BODY...!.......2007-06-16
I've read this several times, and I've been honored to have "sat at Joanne's feet" many times, hearing her teachings as well. It's enabled my husband and I to see in writing, what we already knew in our hearts -- that God meant us to be partners, not a hierarchy. That just as Eve came out of Adam (having been already created as part of him, and then brought out, AFTER the creation was finished, and after God had rested), so, too the Church (the Bride) was hidden in Jesus from before the foundations of the world, and WE were brought out of Him (coincidentally, on the 8th day). That's how kephale was originaly meant as "source"... and reflects how marriage is meant to be a relationship, not an institution.
Yeah, that works just fine with Ephesians 5:23 -- pretty cool, huh Theophilus? ;)
(I recommend reading "The Shack" http://theshackbook.com/ by William P. Young, and "God's Ultimate Passion" by Frank Viola for yet more of an expose of that theme...!)
This book will challenge your presuppositions, along with a few millennia of male-dominated overlording, but if you have eyes to see, and a heart to discern the heart of God, it will be a refreshing blessing to read.
Very insightful rendering of all those supposedly "sexist" verses of Paul (the apostle) - putting them into a very practical and understandable context that brings congruence to his letters.
The Body of Christ, which is hemiplegic (half paralyzed), due to women being squelched for far too long, needs to be set free to be all we can collectively be -- and it just may begin with setting women loose to be ALL that God called each of us to be!

One thing I have found in the hierarchial viwepoint is that often strawman arguments are used in defense of their belief system. For example, in the previous reviewers statements "The truth is that neither men or women are equal. They are DIFFERENT. Are apples equal to oranges? Is black equal to white? Women and men have specific functions in this Universe as indicated to us by God. We need to just relax and obey those designs."
so basically, if we don't follow this man's pre-determined decision about what and how women are to behave according to his standards, then we are sinning. all of us, men alike.
I also am quite appalled at his description of Joanne "nice and sweet, but...obviously as a woman completely mislead and stupid if she can believe she is a person"
what is amazing to me is the complete disconnect between "seperate yet equal" and what we now tell women "equal, but not really", it sounds remarkably like what the blacks were told for hundreds of years. the funny thing is you can't have it both ways, you can't talk out both sides of your mouth, though I know the partriarchalists would sure like that.
As for the scholarship. I actually find the defense of patriarchy (which is what this previous reviewer is holding to) quite laughable. Coming from a Greco Roman mindset trying to understand a VERY Jewish Paul, I guess you are going to come to very different conclusions. However, I venture to guess that Paul was more Jewish than Roman ;)
Completely misses the mark..........2007-01-08
Joanne's book is a marvel of modern feministic thought, completely out of touch with Biblical scholarship. She has picked and chosen from among those fringe scholars that hold her viewpoints, and has disregarded the vast majority of Biblical scholarship that disagrees with her.
This book cleverly steers through difficult passages by changing them into meaningless phrases, or introduces facts not-in-evidence in order to prove a point.
Poor scholarship is used throughout the book in order to prove Joanne's points. For instance, she interprets "kephale" which means "head" in Greek, to mean "source of life". This isn't in context, of course, because the entire New Testament uses "kephale" to mean "head", and it seems doubtful that the human head is in any sense our "source of life", but by accepting the viewpoint of a liberal scholar that agrees with her, Joanne is able to completely change the meaning of Ephesians 5:23 to something that has little or no meaning. (Try popping "source of life" into each occurence of "head" in Ephesians 5:23 and see if it has meaning in context.) That's just one example of dozens I could name.
One advantage that I have over other reviewers is that I know Joanne personally, and have known her for a number of years. She is a sweet, kind person, but she is dead wrong with this book.
The truth is that neither men or women are equal. They are DIFFERENT. Are apples equal to oranges? Is black equal to white? Women and men have specific functions in this Universe as indicated to us by God. We need to just relax and obey those designs.
Women that have had bad experiences with men, or men that have had bad experiences with women, both exaggerate an aspect of the male-female relationship. In women, it often manifests itself as feminism. In men, it usually manifests itself as abuse. Neither is good, or from God. This book is an example of an exaggerated view of the male-female relationship masquerading as a Biblical truth.
Joanne's book will not solve the problem of male-female relationships, nor will free women from anything. (In fact, it will likely cause more problems than it solves.) Simply obeying the Bible and the Word that God has given us IN ITS PLAIN AND SIMPLE READING will do all that and more.
