I enjoyed this advice because unlike the mindless lazy wishing and narcissistic bent of 'The Secret' pap, this book illustrates how important action is in attaining dreams.
I also appreciate that James stresses how riches don't mean anyhting compared to souls and our true selves.
He himself has said the bulk of his words were heavily edited for The Secret video.
He makes great points and this is a highly valuable work.

I have read and re-read this book over 10 times in the last 8 years! Excellent style for the text of the science of success. If you are tired of "feeling" your way to success James Ray breaks down the steps and mental disciplines needed to achieve your desires. I recommend this book to everyone wanting more out of their life.

Here we have yet another one of those dreary, drudging works which offers HOPE to the confused and the lacking. I found a relative of mine reading this item and asked to borrow it. After going through it, I came to the conclusion that this information is infantile to say the least. It is written to appeal to wide-eyed yearners who feel left out of the excitement and pleasures that life today seems to contain. Unfortunately for the yearners, there is absolutely NOTHING to be found between the covers of this book which will help them to reach their dreams in ANY way. Like eager kindergarten children, the hopeful readers will make serious attempts to follow various "Super Laws" ( Thou Shalt's and Thou Shalt Not's ) and the only glimmer of "success" they will ever experience from this exercise will be "success" in terms of how fantatically they adhere to these idiotic "Laws". "See mom! I'm following all the Laws!", "That's nice, Jimmy!"
The author claims to have researched "successful" individuals and is now providing the readers of his book with the "inside dope", the "standard formula" on how all these famous people managed to accomplish what they did in their lives. According to the author, its all so easy! All anyone needs to do is be aware of these various "Super Laws" responsible for the success of others, and then follow them! Success then becomes inevitable.
Well, this is simplistic in the extreme. No one can get inside another's thoughts or feelings, or even hope to grasp what the emotional/physical/psychological environment happened to be at any given time for another individual when that person managed to succeed at anything! The imbecility of copying the behavior of so-called "successful" people is exactly the same rubbish constantly pushed by the "You Can Have The Moon" types like Tony Robbins with their ridiculous concepts of "Just model what a successful person does and you'll succeed too" claptrap. This book is written with the same illogic.
I ask you to consider the following:
First;
If this author, Tony Robbins, and others of the same ilk were correct in terms of how they insist that people "succeed" in life ( model the successful and be successful too ), then where is the proof that it works in today's world? How many people have attended seminars, bought books and cassette tapes, and religiously adhered to the "modeling" principles and mysterious "laws" set before them? And out of this massive, teeming group of yearning believers, how many have actually SUCCEEDED? How many "overworld" types are there today who have every dream coming true, and who have openly stated that they must thank this or that book or seminar or cassette tape instructional set for getting them to the sublime state they now exist in?
Second:
Have you ever heard of the saying which goes; "What you see is what you get"? In other words, what has this author GOT? What do you see in him? Have you done any sort of research on HIM as a successful person before deciding to put your trust in what he claims will bring success to you if you purchase his book? Does he have the world in his hip pocket? Is he wealthy? And if he isn't, why not?! After all, he has uncovered and revealed the "Super Laws" of success in the Universe!!! If ANYONE should be succeeding at every turn and in the greatest ways possible, it should be THIS AUTHOR!!!!! But IS he doing so? If he has ANY significant wealth and material ease, did it come to him by following these "Super Laws" of the Universe, or did it come like wealth came to Tony Robbins? That is, did it come from SELLING HOPE and from nothing else? Where do you suppose someone like Robbins be without his Snake Oil maneuvers of offering hope to the hopeless?
Folks, this sort of sucker bait, snake oil routine has been going on in one form or another for literally centuries all across the Western world. People keep buying into it, and the only "success" it provides is to the SELLERS, not the buyers. Generation after generation, there is always a certain portion of the populace who never wake up and who are always willing to put their trust and belief in these empty promises of astounding achievement though the following of "LAWS" of some sort or another. Well, here's a "LAW" that will certainly bring magnificent success -
SELL HOPE THOUGH INFORMATION CLAIMING TO REVEAL MYSTERIOUS, ALL-POWERFUL "UNIVERSAL LAWS" !
Do this one thing and YOU too can succeed, make millions, and achieve your fondest material dreams!
Best Book I've Read in a Long Time.......2007-09-10
I like the concepts shared in the book so much, I bought several more copies to give to friends. I also bought and read the books of the people that he talked about in his book. It has been a chain reaction of books. I highly reccomend read it.

I found Bishop Jordan's work so inspiring, enpowering and en-LIGHT-ening (as in shedding LIGHT on one's spiritual nature and relation to God, taking one out of DARKNESS)that I now own both the book and the CD and am working my way through his workbook. (Available from his site.) If the belief system you have chosen will allow you to consider other view-points without FEAR, that I recommend it highly, (especially for "Rhinos" - ie, entrepreneurs) so as to help manifest God's GOOD in your life. Remember, the validity of your belief system manifests in its FRUITS.) Alas, I could see "Fundamentalists" or "Literalists" taking offense at some thoughts expressed in it. One of my favorite parts in the book is when Jordan cites a instance when precisely this happened and a congregation member gasped "Bishop Jordan thinks he's God!" and he replied "NO! God thinks he's ME!"

touting the "latest fad", but the methods that Ms. Ponder suggests in her book have worked for me. This time, last year, I was struggling. My life was in a mess - financially disarray. I was just out of school. Even though I had gone through four years college and graduate school, I couldn't find a permanent job anywhere. I couldn't even get a temporary job, even though I was signed up with four or five different agencies. At that point, I was desperate enough to try any line of work, at that point, but no one seemed to be willing to take a chance on me, so I ended up home. Last year, around this time, I was literally broke.
But, through some stroke of luck, I ran into Catherine Ponder's books on this site. I decided to check Dynamic Laws of Prosperity out from a library, along with some other books. Little did I know how much her books would change my life. I discovered it was my constant focus on lack that was the basis of my problems.
People might say Ms. Ponder's methods are simply "positive thinking." But it's more than that. It's not just about experiencing prosperity in your bank account, it really affects your whole life. She writes about incorporating daily list making, affirmations, tithing, visualization, etc; in her work. You have to be consistent though, which isn't always easy. You have to do it daily -- never missing a day. That's the hard part. Not everyone's willing to commit that time to make the changes they want.
For the first four months -- little happened. Then I received my first temp job in months. I worked for several weeks there, and did well. Unlike my last job, where I didn't receive work, even after performing satisfactorily, I received yet, another temporary job.
I worried that my prosperity was drying up after the second job, when I received no more temp job offers. Little did I know, that I would receive an interview within two weeks for a job I had literally applied for months before. I had given up on that job too. But, within a few days I was hired for the position, which I just started this week.
I've also gotten back in touch with an aunt I'd lost touch with. We literally hadn't spoken in years. We've reconciled around my birthday around the same time my prosperity was increasing, and it's one of the best things that's ever come out of studying Catherine Ponder's work.
Not everything is perfect. I still have work to do on a lot of areas of my life, but it's still so much better than the misery I was experiencing around this time last year. I'm richer than I've been in a long time. And I'm setting my goals on even higher goals. :)
If you watched "The Secret" this can supplement what you've learned in that DVD, because it gives you specific techniques. If you thought that the DVD was hokey, but you still believe in prosperity thinking, this book is still perfect. It's perfect, even if you don't really believe that it will work. I was skeptical that it would, but it has for me.
P.S. - On an odd note, I had tested her concept by "visualizing" a way for me to get Ms. Ponder's books. I was frustrated when, for months, it seemed like I wouldn't have the money to purchase her books. If her methods work, I thought, why didn't I ever receive her books? I hadn't realized that it was because the need had already been met. Recently, I cleared out an old e-mail account. I discovered in July 2007, that I had received an Amazon gift certificate in January 2007 of which I was totally unaware. The money was more than enough to cover the purchase of several of Ms. Ponder's books:). I now, proudly own copies of all the book titles I ever wanted to purchase from her. It really does work.

Altho there were many typos in this book - I will cherish the contents forever! Love the hardbound - larger book too. Just finished reading and will go back and re-read with my highlighter ready to go! A wealth of information here and I can see where this was probably a source for The Secret. This book covers so many more LAWS than just the Law of Attraction (The Secret). This should be made into a movie! I am such a fan of Catherine Ponder as well as Vernon Howard.
Now I Understand Laws of Prosperity........2007-06-03
I purchased this book about 9 months ago. There are many new ideas presented in the book. If you have a basic understanding about laws of attraction then this book will help you even more. It is a slow read (at least for me) because there is so much powerful information.
While I was reading the book, putting it into use and doing affirmations, good things started happening to me. I received alot of money from unexpected resources and I attracted alot of opportunities. These things did not happen before. I am now reading this book again for the second time. I have read all of Catherine's books, but the Prosperity book is my favorite. Her affirmations are powerful, and her antecdotes about how others have prospered by affirming goodness and plenty, are heart-warming, and motivational.
She taught us how to "reframe" unfortunate happenings before NLP had been formulated, by putting a positive spin on all situations.
She taught us how to deal with "energy blocks" before anybody was even talking about blocks to energy.
She taught us about "divine order" and truly living in faith, and how that attitude changes everything in your life, for the better.
This book is about creating prosperity that far exceeds just money. It's about opening all the doors and windows in your life and lettng in all of the abundance that's already yours.

I have read many books on the Law of Attraction over the last six months and although I kept learning new techniques and the foundations about why this law is absolutely true, I must admit that Wealth Beyond Reason has had a huge impact. The book is straight to the point about what you need to do to purposely and intentionally activate the law and why it simply does not work for most people (and how to avoid those mistakes). I can go on and on about how great of a book this is and since reading it, I have started to have some great results in my life.
In the past I might have seen these circumstances as "coincidence" but after reading the book I have learned how to leverage these experiences into acquiring more of what I want out of life. I highly recommend the book to anyone that is currently a student of Law of Attration.

Yes, I read the entire book. A much, much better book is Professional Dreamer. The Abraham-Hicks books are weird, I returned the one I ordered. This one includes every wealth trick you can think of... but also inlcludes frugality and debt chapters, turning your thinking to just that, which is counterproductive. If we are wealthy and we are as we think we are wealthy, we do not need to think like a poor man, about our debts or how many pennies we can save.

No two ways about it, Sandy Forster loves her subject. Unfortunately I found this was a little distracting - she underlines and bolds in almost every paragraph which feels a little like shouting to me. A little over done in my view. Also - a little too many suggrestions to go to her website and check out her other products - a little forced and contrived.
The content is pretty good - very simple strategies are included her for the metaphysical and practical strategies in attracting wealth. I would have liked more details on her own wealth strategies - she only vaguely alludes to her 'direct selling personal development business' - I would have liked to have found out more about this.
Overall -worth the read and some good take-away strategies.

Like just about all books out there about how to Attract Prosperity and Abundance into Your Life, these volume is missing the part about how to overcome internal resistance to success.
This not surprising - we are inundated with messages that all we need to do is get our mind aligned with our intentions, say our affirmations and do the right things, involking the law of attraction. Right... and then we stop ourselves short of our goals and get stuck.
Michael Norman recently was quoted: "Whenever people talk about needing more willpower, I know that what they're really saying is that they want to be able to fight harder against themselves. Willpower is only needed if you're trying to behave in a way that runs counter to the emotional state you're in."
If you combine this book with one like "The Missing Link to Your Financial Success", you'll actually be able to get going again if you get stuck. Otherwise, you may be just spinning your tires and looking for another formula, when you really need a way to make that formula work for you.

I have read over 30+ books on the topic to make money fast and after reading sanding's book...I only said "oouch, what a way to make money Sandy "...
This book is nothing new as there are bunch of authors like Sandy who are making money by selling you hopes and dreams as they know 'What Sells in market as Everybody want to see some hope and Dreams to make mega$$$$$.'
I would recommend you to read books from Genuine Authors like Murphy , Catherine Ponder ...
Sandy gave her first book what a Lovely and Wild Title 'How to Be Wildly Wealthy FAST'...
Sandy has found out that selling you dreams and hopes does make money and she has found the weaker spot of common people as everybody is looking for some kind of hope/dreams and I think Title of this book should be 'You buy what I Sell ( Dreams and Hopes ) and I Make Millions , Fast'.
I am not sure how Genuine these reviews are but Most of reviews of her book seems to come from other Self Help Gurus or People who sell/do similar things as Business and give each other 5 Star Reviews , IMHO
Self Help is a big business and way it works is 'Sell your book first and then ask readers to join their Classes/personal-Trainings and ask them to Buy more Stuff and make mega $$$$$s and you will be millionare '. How sad and pathetic way to make money. Isn't it ?.
Sandy Puts her story in the book but I think her story is purley an isolated case or pure coincidence and I have seen many people making money like that. Read her story and you will think , what's big deal about that ?.
I believe and seen that there is a big market and lot of potential to make money in writing self-help books / selling seminars and products on how to be wealthy or succeful and Sandy knows 'How to do that' and she did it.
There are very few authentic writers ( Catherine Ponder, Joseph Murphy etc ) in this area, who just sell you the book with a concept and not their costly seminars / products or trainings. After reading 30+ books , I realized that.
I really feel sorry if you bought this book and helped Sandy's attempt to make money by selling you the book and DVD.
I am getting emails all the time to buy more books/seminars or products to be wealthy ( who will be wealthy then !,that you can figure out ).
I would recommend that you scan this book at borders and I am positive , you will never buy book of this magnitude for $20.
Sandy's this attempt to be in Self help business is not worth $20 bucks. I have read and attended enough seminars to find that this is 'Self Help is Great Business to Make Money'.
keep away from such books and DVD's as I know , ethically , there are more ways to be happy and still make money. ( Read Chopra/Joseph Murphy/Catherine Ponder's books instead ).

This book was my introduction to 'Change your thoughts, change yourlife'. A friend gave me this book several years ago and it dramatically changed the way I began to think. It just made sense, it clicked with me. I was also very surprised to find out that all those years I was thinking that my thoughts were private, no one but me could know them. Then, I read this and realized that our thoughts do show in many ways: appearance, health, our circumstances, etc.
I have read many books on this subject and this is one that will ALWAYS remain in my collection. I still pull it off the shelf and read it occassionally. It's overflowing with valuable wisdom on how your thoughts create your world.
This volume has 5 books in one. It's a small but somewhat chunky book with 384 pages.

Get All Three Volumes.......2007-03-16
This is the volume to start with, but I would recommend all three volumes in "The Wisdom of James Allen" series. These books are valuable to read in marathon sessions, yet they can be practically consumed in short sittings. A meal of just a few pages will give you sufficient spiritual energy for the day. I recommend reading and re-reading because the wisdom is timeless and the principles can be applied daily. As a Man Thinketh is a must read and has been for most of the 20th and now the 21st century. To get this companion piece with other great writings by James Allen is amazing. I would suggest it for anyone who is interested in finding the tools necessary to command their own lives.

A very enjoyable read. The simplicity of his ideas is refreshing. I do believe it really can be this simple. This small pocket size book is easy to fit into a bag/purse, or pocket and take with you wherever you go. I find spending a few minutes here and there reading it works well. Pleasant and easy to follow. Seems like a very sincere person.

Understandable Theory.......2007-08-27
A well written book. I do not believe in all that was stated in free trade but that would only be my opinion. The very best and why this should be mandatory reading in high school is the final thirty pages or so explaining compound interest, saving, investing and paying for college. I strongly believe each young man should share in the cost of college. If we are going to compete in a world market we better learn that college is for filling the head with knowledge and not the belly with beer. Unless you wish to be a telemarketer for some third world country with your degree.

Excellent, should be required reading for all 8th graders and socialists. Gives a down to earth understanding of the advantage to ALL with free market economics and the adverse effects when the government tries to do too much.
Common Sense Economics.......2007-01-10
Easy to read, easy to understand. The last time I tried to understand economic principles was in required college courses, and barely made it through any of them. This book clarifies the often deliberate obfuscation of this subject, and reveals what every American ought to know about how our system is supposed to work, but a lot of times doesen't. A must-read for every conservative concerned about liberal economic ideas and governmental meddling in Capitalism.
A good introduction to economics for libertarians.......2006-04-18
The authors of this book present an introduction for readers who have not studied economics before and who are predisposed to accept the a priori approach to economic theory advocated by libertarian economists and political thinkers.There is a major error that is presented on p.93 in a discussion of government spending and deficits.The authors claim that J M Keynes favored deficit finance in order to stimulate the economy during economic downturns.This is simply false.Keynes never favored deficit finance.Deficit Finance is the brain child of Abba Lerner's functional finance.Lerner's approach influenced American Keynesians such as Alvin Hansen and Walter Heller.Keynes's approach,as opposed to the American Keynesian School, emphasized continuous low rates of interest and the avoidance of excessive debt-speculative finance,based on,for example,margin loans.Keynes would have suggested that the central bank implement a policy of skewing credit availability away from loans for speculators,greenmailers,leveraged buyouts,hostile takeovers a la Icahn,T Boone Pickens,etc.
Common Sense Read For a Sometimes Dry Subject.......2006-02-17
This is essentially a newer edition of a book previously released by the author. The writing is clear and concise on many basic economic principles. If you are looking for an indepth analysis of how economics effects socio-political issues, this is not the book you are looking for. However, if you are looking to begin setting a solid foundation for economic understanding there is perhaps no better place to begin.

This Book is a Miracle.......2006-07-28
I purchased this book at Borders initially for $3.95. Within a month of reading this book I had experienced not only emotional change and spiritual awakening but physical miracles. I had lost my job and was on unemployment. I practiced the daily affirmations for restoration, healing and prosperity. One day during my awakening I went to the mailbox at my apartment looking for my unemployment check and there was a check for $2,600 waiting for me. The next week I received a $800 refund from a program I had signed up for. The blessing kept coming then I found a good job. I moved from my apartment and lost the book. Had to purchase another one. this is the most productive lessons I have ever experienced.

This book absolutely blew my mind! I've never found any other book that ellucidates the laws of Divine Prosperity so well! Catherine Ponder does seem to be a person of great wisdom, just by looking at the way she brings the profound biblical symbolism to light; and makes it so easy for the average person to understand and apply it.
There is really nothing new about these teachings: They have been existent and practiced for centuries in India, China, Japan, Arabia, Egypt, Babylon, Mexico and other lands. The biblical texts have captured the same teachings and codified them into symbols and allegories. Unless a person can decode these symbols and understand the profound truths illustrated in them, he would fail to see anything beyond the literalism.
The author makes a certain point: There are certain laws that govern the universe. To be prosperous, one must be aware of what they are and operate them to one's advantage. These include (but not limited to):
-The Art of Blessing
-Success principles derived from the Creation Story
-Success principles derived from the Garden of Eden story
-Success principles derived from the story of Cain, Abel and Seth
-Success principles derived from the story of Noah's ark
-Success principles derived from the story of Tower of Babel.
-Picturing and Visualization
-Tithing and Giving (a very powerful law)
-Receiving and Master Demonstration
-Power of Joy and Beauty
-Power of Planning
-Power of Divine Substance
-Overcoming injustice
-Sex as a success power
The author also stresses that there is nothing "spiritual" or "virtuous" in being broke or suppressed. Abundance is the nature of the universe and God wants every individual to have abundance in their life. The only reason why many people do not have it yet is that they are not yet ready to receive it. Once a person is ready to receive prosperity, they do not have to seek prosperity anymore. Instead prosperity seeks them out! The author shows in this book how we can operate the universal laws and prepare ourselves, so that we are ready to receive prosperity in our life.
Hence, I'd really give this book TEN stars if I could!
Read One, and You Have It.......2002-04-12
This is the first time that I have given any book review a 3. And I have reviewed many of them, in the past year.
They have all been 5, because they all really are off the charts. But, having read "Open Your Mind to Prosperity," I had expected "Prosperity Secrets of the Ages," to offer me more, when what I found was that this book is a reformat of her other books.
I was so excited about "Open Your Mind to Prosperity," that I believed that reading another of Ms. Ponder's books, would keep me thinking the thoughts that I need to think to be prosperous. But, I believe that buying one of her books, and choosing to read it again, and again is a better investment of my time, thoughts and vision.
What keeps this from being rated a 2 is that in thinking about tithing to my church, which Ms. Ponder advises us to do, I am rethinking my choice in churches, because I have asked myself whether or not I am receiving the level of spiritual growth from my church that I desire to receive; and whether or not my church has the social system that could offer me what I desire.

The book "The Prosperity Secrets of the Ages" by Catherine Ponder contains secret truths which will propel you towards unlimited, infinite and consistent prosperity. Reading her books will definitely manifest the consistent increase of your highest good.
The books share her gifts of insight, wisdom and knowledge which she so very uniquely and generously expresses. Her matter of fact writing style exhibits a refreshing purity which is a sincere actualization of her own love, faith and wisdom. I found Bishop Jordan's work so inspiring, enpowering and en-LIGHT-ening (as in shedding LIGHT on one's spiritual nature and relation to God, taking one out of DARKNESS)that I now own both the book and the CD and am working my way through his workbook. (Available from his site.) If the belief system you have chosen will allow you to consider other view-points, that I recommend it highly, (especially for "Rhinos" - ie, entrepreneurs) so as to help manifest God's GOOD in your life. Remember, the validity of your belief system will manifest in its FRUITS.)Sadly, I could see "Fundamentalists" or "Literalists" taking offense at some thoughts expressed in it. One of my favorite parts in the book is when Jordan cites a instance when precisely this happened and a congregation member gasped "Bishop Jordan thinks he's God!" and he replied "NO! God thinks he's ME!"

I love listening to the cd, it's information I already knew but learning to use your own abilities better and with understanding is always helpful. I have always understood the power of my thoughts however, creating a more positive outlook and meditating on the positive as much as I worry (meditate) about the bills or other annoyances is a more productive way of using energy. I think that Bishop Jordan is clear in his delivery and it's merely up to the listener to take heed to the messages and tapping into your own inner being.
