Urantia book was to inclued a free audio book dvd. The wraping for the dvd was in the box but the dvd had been removed. The dvd was the main reason I ordered the book.

I have read only the part that discussed Jesus live on earth, but it was very informitive. The approach was more personable and you are left with a more personal relationship of what the nature of Jesus may have been. There were more explanation of His teachings that allowed you to view things from other perpectives. I think the section that I am reading "Life of Jesus" is very good. I am giving it 4 stars only because I have not read the first 2 sections yet.

If you were to read only one book in your entire life, I would recommend The Urantia Book. In it you will find the answer to all of life's questions beginning with The Nature of God, The order of the universe, How our planet began, where we go when we die, who Jesus really is and why His Life and Teachings (AS PRESENTED IN THE URANTIA BOOK) are the Greatest thing that we can know.
This is a book that will have a huge impact on our world.

Don't deprive yourself of this message!.......2000-03-15
When I was first introduced to The Urantia Book a number of years ago, I was encouraged to look beyond the obstacle of authorship and judge the validity of it's message on it's content. The idea that the truth would "ring true" deep within my being was often expressed. I took this advice to heart, and as I immersed myself in it's pages, I was rewarded by a whole choir of bells ringing true within me. It pains me to think how many people out there are depriving themselves of this amazing message just because they can't deal with the possibility that the papers were authored by "superhuman beings". It really doesn't matter who wrote the papers at all, what matters is the message. I, for example, am writing this review. Very few people who read this actually know me, so the majority of you will have to ponder what I have written and take from it what you will. Why should any other message be any different?
That many people will choose not to read The Center Within because of the source of it's teachings pains me as well. Many of the same Urantians who will encourage those reading The Urantia Book to look at the message and not judge the book by it's authorship will do exactly the opposite to this book. And as with The Urantia Book, those who choose to ignore this book are depriving themselves of a beautiful, uplifting, and even practical message. I would encourage everyone, Urantian or not, to open themselves to this message. I know that you will not be dissappointed.
Bringing the Teachings of The Urantia Book to Life........2000-01-29
This is a wonderful addition to the Urantia Book. It gets down to the nitty-gritty of some of the teachings and adds practical advice to each of those teachings. You may not agree with all of its advice or with all of its explanations of the teachings, however, you will agree that it is a must have for anyone on a spiritual journey.
The Urantia Book is one of the most inspiring books in print today. It's teachings are timeless and life giving. The Center Within takes a look at these teachings and brings them to the practical level of experience. From meditation (stillness) to social interaction, The Center Within is complete and full of loving insight!

I had to post a review before I even read it, I just looked over the first chapter descriptions, read the back cover, and have to tell you I am shaking, over a period of many years of intensive reading, i know this book is the last one I need to read......it ties all of the pieces together, "know thyself", this book is soaked in TRUTH and LOVE, or should I say TRUTH IS LOVE!

The science in this book is quite dated, however its discussion on the absolutes, eternity and infinity are very good. And its take on Christianity is better than what the Christians have come up with.

Urantia Book is simply the most complete book of religion and philosophy today.
Its basic religion teaching is very simple: The real religion of Jesus is the religion of Spirit that has been inside within each of us. Listen and obey to the Divine Spirit inside us. I have read this book for 10 yrs. It will stay at the best place in my library. It guides my personal beliefs though I am still an active Christian and never intend to leave this great religion.
my last comment. Perhaps this book will be intimidating for those who still love old dogmas and beliefs. If you still in those areas and dont intend to look for better explanation, it is ok, in fact everybody has its own journey of life. Life is a journey in universe. Life is a picnic. Evidence of an Existing Galactic Civilization.......2007-05-18
I, Ron, have been reading this book since 1967. We always give our copies away (perhaps 50 over the years). Although scientifically dated to the 20's, 30's and 40's, and by the admission of the authors "not inspired", this collection of papers is well worth considering, especially for the Anthropologist, Geneticist, Philosopher, Astronomer, Gravity-inspired Physicist, and Theologian.
We suggest that the beginner read the Forward, then skip to Parts II, III & IV. Section I is a bit dry and obtuse. The Publishers (Urantia Foundation) and the writings of Matthew Block of Square Circles publishing are the best resources for the papers. Amazon carries the Urantia Book in many translations. In fact, we are now reading the Spanish Edition, ordered from Amazon. Where we are and where are we going.......2007-05-16
This book is serious stuff! Deep inside ourselves we know that we are just travelers on this Earth; but it takes courage to acknowledge this. I know that what it tells about our origin and destiny is true, not only because my intuition tells me so, but also because of all related books I have read, and of course, my own meditations.
It is refreshing to be able to have an objective perspective on historical issues which have created havoc through time. It ususaly takes common sense to reach some conclusions, but then again we are on a material world and try to detach from it is easier said than done.
I truly believe that this book is bound to be a precedent to finally learn to place responsibility inside ourselves and then radiate towards the outside, rather than placing responsibilites elsewhere. True changes take place inside-out, not the other way around. And love is The Tool.
We are but a tiny grain of sand within the immensity of the universe... however, it is electrifying, so exciting, awesome to realize that none withstanding this fact each one of us is unique, that life is utterly fair and our free will is respected no matter what.

Es un magnífico libro que recoge muchas de las preguntas que nos hacemos a diario en lo largo de nuestras vidas, y que te las contesta de una manera lógica y secuencial que permite la posibilidad de que sean acertadas.

The Urantia Book is one of those books where peoples descriptions and/or opinions are usually quite different.
Those who gloss over it usually dismiss it as a hoax, for it claims to be authored by Celestial Beings. More then a few of the 196 Papers are authored by Melchizedek, the sage of Salem, who walked and talked with Abraham. The Urantia Book requires a great deal of effort and time to discover its value but the more you study it the more you will come to realize it is what it claims to be. The 5th Epochal Revelation to our world.
As a result of studying The Urantia Book I have been inspired to provide FREE Urantia Books to all my friends and relatives. It has provided me with much hope and anticipation for the future. I feel our planetary destiny may be difficult but in the end it will be bright and glorious.
The Urantia Book's Part III provides a complete history of our planet including a detailed account about the Lucifer Rebellion over 200,000 years ago and detailed account about the 3rd Epochal Revelation to our planet with the arrival and departure of Melchizedek.
Part IV of The Urantia Book has a complete account of the 4th Epochal Revelation to our planet, The Life and Teachings of Jesus. If you were to read Part IV of The Urantia Book you will discover a whole new view of Jesus.
My recommendation for The Urantia Book is everyone in the world should create his own view on this book and not depend on others to formulate an opinion for them.

Una respuesta coherente e integradora a las grandes preguntas que se formulan en la mayoria de mentes inquietas : ¿quién somos?, ¿de donde venimos?, ¿a dónde vamos?, ¿por qué?, ¿hay alguién más?, ...
Después de leer el libro, y acerca de él, me gustaría decir que :
- Una lectura "ordenada" de sus más de 2000 pàginas puede ser desalentadora por la complejidad de sus contenidos. Pero éstos se hacen más accesibles a medida que se avanza a través de sus 4 partes. Por lo tanto, ánimo a los que se decidan o acaben de empezar y aconsejar que, en caso de "agotamiento", se puede invertir el orden de lectura de sus 4 partes.
- Por su volumen, densidad y contenido, la versión "oficial" sobre la autoria no humana del libro és más que convincente (hay que leerlo TODO para poder afirmar o desmentir esto)
- Por la huella y la positiva actitud que induce a la mayoria de sus lectores, deberia estar en la biblioteca de todos nosotros
UNA GRAN SUERTE HABERLO "ENCONTRADO" !

Angelic Error and Hypocrisy Revealed.......2000-02-20
Christianity has been dealt a favor by publishing this near-exhaustive study aid. The word "paramony" is an invented conjunction of the words "parallel" and "harmony" to imply that the book demonstrates the supposed "parallel harmony" that exists between The Urantia Book (TUB) and the Holy Bible. However, anybody who utilizes this remarkable resource to the full extent of its intended use will soon find out that quite the opposite is true. To be sure, many "parallels" exist between the two, simply because TUB shamelessly plagiarizes literally thousands of biblical verses (hence, the thickness of the Paramony, which is not much more than a computerized printout that lists the locations of the parallels in a line-by-line format). However, in the vast majority of cases, the parallels are not in the least bit harmonious. Rather, the Paramony demonstrates the flagrant and intentional discord between what is written in Scripture and what the alleged celestial authors of TUB have ordained as divine correction. Most of the lifted biblical passages have either been revised or taken out of context to suit the divine revelators' version of the truth. The problem with assuming divine authority on the part of the "celestials" is that they are prone to much human error and hypocrisy. Consider the following dogmatic statement inculcated by a "Melchizedek of Nebadon" during a rather insidious treatment of Hebrew theology: "The concept of judgment in the hereafter for the sins of one's life in the flesh on earth was carried over into Hebrew theology from Egypt. The word judgment appears only once in the entire Book of Hebrew Psalms, and that particular psalm was written by an Egyptian." (TUB, p.1045) I indicated earlier that the Paramony is not quite exhaustive, because it will not point to the correct biblical passage(s) in this case. Perhaps that's because there are so many verses from Psalms to choose from (32 to be exact) in which the word "judgment" appears! (Are we attempting to cover the celestials' tracks?) Other instances point to the "celestial" authors' sheer hypocrisy. On page 1084, we read that Paul's New Testament epistles should not be taken as divine inspiration: "Paul little dreamed that his well-intentioned letters to his converts would someday be regarded by still later Christians as the `word of God.'" And yet, the angelic arbitrators covertly stuff the words of Galatians 3:28 into the mouth of their Jesus on page 2033. Moreover, a "Brilliant Evening Star" overtly implicates Paul as having been made privy to Urantian cosmology: "Paul also had a view of the ascendant-citizen corps of perfecting mortals on Jerusem, for he wrote: `But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the grand assembly of Michael, and to the spirits of just men being made perfect'" (TUB, p. 539; compare Hebrews 12:22-24). The Paramony is most helpful when perusing Part IV of TUB (a.k.a. the "Jesus" papers), which primarily consists of a massive revision of the four New Testament Gospels. We can readily see, for example, that the Jesus of TUB, who manifested himself in a new semi-spirit resurrection body after his death, is not the Jesus of the Bible, who was resurrected in the same physical body that had been laid in the tomb: "When the Master had so spoken, he looked down into the face of Thomas and said: `And you, Thomas, who said you would not believe unless you could see me and put your finger in the nail marks of my hands, have now beheld me and heard my words; and though you see no nail marks on my hands, since I am raised in the form that you also shall have when you depart from this world, what will you say to your brethren?'" (TUB, p. 2043; compare John 20:27). Much more could be said, but space is limited here. Unless and until the Paramony again becomes available, the reader can view it in electronic format (feel free to e-mail me for the url address). Indeed, the Lord does work in mysterious ways!
paramony exceeds expectations for pure reference material.......1997-11-15
Faw's book encourages the reader to find the parallels in the bible and the Urantia Book. His notes on chapters and papers are concise and accurate and his work is exhaustive. I recommend this book for any serious reader of the Urantia Book or anyone curious about their parallels.

The Concordex brings the Urantia Book alive!.......2001-03-10
Yesterday my copy of the Concordex arrived and this morning I read the 50 page introduction in it. This book is incredible!
First of all Clyde was on the original forum and is also, IMO, an outstanding writer. One quick quote can give you an idea of this: "If you are earnestly seeking truth, the Urantia Book would provide you the thrills of your life. If you are a metaphysical "bar hopper", simply seeking to sip psychic samples proffered anywhere, expect little. For the Urantia Book is to drink deeply, to live with and by. It is not a diversionary shot-in-the-arm, or a spiritual incidental."
I had heard of the Concordex years ago, but had not looked into it seriously because I felt that the Urantia Book search engines could do a better job. This could not be farther from the truth. I really think that it will provide me with several years of new, insightful, UB reading. The 50 page intro also provides some excellent suggestions and ideas. One is a list of 803 interesting topics with corresponding page numbers. It suggests that if you read the selection and really like it, you put vertical bars in the margin of the UB and next to it you write in the previous related article page number and the following related page number. During subsequent trips through the UB, you will be attracted by the bars and then reread it. This is an excellent idea. I previously had used a yellow highlighter, but will now use a red ball point for the Concordex suggestions. It got me to wonder what Clyde's UB must have looked like and what happened to it.
I could go on and on about the interesting topics, but I'll just give one more. One topic is "numbers", you know, things like how many inhabitable worlds in a system. Two that caught my eye are 1) there are 3 inhabitable planets in our solar system of 12 planets, and 2) there are 7 super universes in the Grand Universe but about 70,000 in the Master Universe. Wow!
Get the electronic version, if you have a computer.......1998-01-16
If you have a computer the electronic CD-ROM version will give you greater flexibility and enhance you use. If not, this book is a great price, and much cheaper than the official one published by the Urantia Fountation.

It is a marvellous study of the ways in which ideas can be propagated through society.

A book of LIES, Half Truths and Anger To keep you AFRAID.......2007-09-15
Martin Gardener's book about the URANTIA Revelation is typical of what has kept mankind from reaching his full spirital potential for its entire history. FEAR! Using LIES and Half Truths, and twisted conclusions he's doing what the "Church" has always done keep in CONTROLL and YOU from understanding TRUE spirituality and KNOWING for themselves what it means to follow Christ's teachings.
We are in the Apocalypse people! Thats why these TRUTHs are coming out now! And what is REALLY meant by 'The Truth Shall Set You Free!' I finally can see why, when it comes to TRUTH and INDIVIDUAL SPIRITUALITY - all the nasty, negative, hateful, closed minded, judgmental and ANTI-Christ like noise, comes from so called "Christians" whenever they have anything to say about.... well ANYTHING!!
You WONT find anything Nasty, Hateful, or wrong in the Urantia Book because when reading it, it will 'ring true' like it has for almost everyone with the courage to read it for themselvs. So if your one of those people that cant see REAL TRUTH for themselves because of FEAR they learned in "CHURCH" about a Judgmental, vengeful, Retalitating and Punishing God - Then You WONT like the URANTIA book.
The Urantia book can stand on its own merits and should be read by ANYONE who yearns to fully understand what the Bible fails to do. Understand and make sense of our history as humans and to KNOW GOD/JESUS and the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, TRUTH, COMPASSION, and the true - I repeat - TRUE CHRISTIANITY of JESUS.

For those who are seeking truth, Martin Gardner has done us a great service. He covers the history of those people who brought us the Utantia book. He makes a convincing case that this giant tome was conceived in deception. For those who believe that the Bible is true, will perceive that this possible channeled fantasy contradicts the Bible. For those who don't believe the Bible, they need to know that the creators of the Urantia book sprung forth or evolved from the Seventh day Adventist Church. A denomination with a false prophet and a history full of fanaticism. I highly recommend Martin Gardner's book, for anyone who has looked at the Urantia book or thinking of buying that ultimate grand cosmic fantasy.

While looking for some alternative to a lot of confusing biblical jargon I got into the Urantia Book and found it to be EUGENICS and NAZISM in DISGUISE! I was thoroughly refreshed to find out that others were intelligent enough not to be bling faith sheep and believe that pack of fabrications. Though many of the stories in the Urantia book are partially true, The Great Cult Mystery points out how they were twisted to fill the agendas of Nazi supportes like William Kellogg, Charles Russell (of the infamous Jehovah's Witnesses, and Bill Sanders (one of the writers of the Urantia Book) into "cleansing the human race" through preferred breeding and ethnic cleansing. For all you peole that believe the Urantia Book, I suggest you read the history of its creators first before you believe the so-called sleeping brother in law subject's view on the universe.

There is no Father just Mother it is female look around blind men and see for the first time. If you really want answers to why, when, were and how. Nature is female not male. There is no male in the mix, creation is not male. It will be too late, but we'll just start over again like we've done many, many times before.
Learn to Hate God.......2004-07-31
Reading this book will make the indwelling spirit of God very distressed. But the rant and rave author gives a perfect lesson on how a person sounds when losing an augument in a debate. The book is mostly hate talk and insults. He could have distilled the main concept he presents to 30 pages of science. The Urantia Book mentions how they would treat science and anyone who gave it any thought would see this offering has not a leg to stand on. Spare God the trouble and do not waste your time or money on this so called refutation.

If you like the message of Taoism ("man's eternal destiny is everlasting union with Tao, Supreme God and Universal King"), and can accept the possibility of current revelation as presented in the Urantia Book, then you will like this book, a mixture of Eastern spiritual thought and current revelatory insight, crafted by a master storyteller and poet, Richard Omura. Easy reading and to the point, Richard takes Lao-tse's original 81 chapters, embellishes them, and adds twenty additional chapters to present poetic enlightenment for seekers of all faiths. From today to eternity, the rules will not change, as we traverse the myriad experiences in a journey that will ultimately lead us back to our Creator, the First Source and Center, to Tao. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. My hat is off to Mr. Omura for this fine work.

I purchased the Urantia book over 30 years ago, I have also looked into many other spiritual books and related subjects and spent countless hours reading them, nothing can compare with the Urantia book, it is in a class all by it's self. If you have that desire to find God and understand what your purpose on Earth (Urantia) is then read the Urantia book, you'll understand more than you ever expected. I know this sounds over stated but in actuality it is an understatement.
This is the best Christmas gift I ever found.

The Urantia Book is quite simply the most amazing book on Earth. Its power to inspire love and brotherhood among people is and has been unequaled since it was possible to actually interact with Jesus of Nazareth 2000 years ago.
It is the complete synthesis of science, history, philosophy and religion that the world has long needed. It is the single most transformational event in my life of 63 years. It is the message that will begin the transformation of our planet into the place it was intended to be - a world dominated by love, peace, and brotherhood under the Fatherhood of God.

Buy this if you want something to flip open to at random for amusement and rare insights. Also, a wide number of the ideas contained therein were gleaned from '30s notions and various religions without reference, but (and you know it's a classic because) other small groups have since gleaned ideas (such as Thought Adjusters) from this book. So for some obscure reference possibilities, sure, maybe.
For a basis of belief, though? If the universe is actually as crammed packed with such a tediously granular and rigid bureaucracy and hierarchy as this book claims, I'll side with the Rebellion. No, wait, the Rebellion Urantia style was too boring (involving comminiques and diplomats and lengthy debates, all of which was somehow cause to disintegrate Lucifer, simply for expressing and discussing his opinion). I think I'll just go solo.
