Book Description
From dorm rooms and first apartments to suburban homes and four-star restaurants, the George Foreman grill is one of America's most popular small kitchen appliances. Women love it because it cooks delicious, healthy family meals in minutes and is super easy to clean. Men, on the other hand, often run from cooking. But grilling? Hey, that's definitely a guy thing.
And everyone knows the master of the indoor grill is George Foreman. This two-time heavyweight champion of the world knows what tastes really good because George Foreman loves to eat. When George gives advice on how to grill the best burger on the planet, well, believe him. He knows.
As a world-class athlete and father of ten, George Foreman is focused on fresh, healthy foods that keep him and his family strong. Between kids, careers, and a heavyweight training schedule, the Foremans are a big, constantly-in-motion family. Getting dinner on the table could be an endurance event, but instead of going ten rounds in the kitchen, George Foreman has perfected fast and easy, and he passes on his strategy in George Foreman's Indoor Grilling Made Easy.
Here are more than 100 recipes that speak to the reason everyone buys the indoor grill in the first place: easy dishes filled with big, bold flavor for healthy food fast. From breakfast foods to snacks, entrées, side dishes, and even desserts made on the grill, this is food to satisfy the young, the not-so-young, and everyone in between. Most recipes are naturally lower in carbohydrates (after all, George is a carnivore of some note), but some have choice carbs to fuel heavy training days.
In addition to the recipes, there are plenty of flavor-enhancing ideas -- marinades, spice rubs, and sauces -- for simple cuts of fish, beef, pork, and chicken. You'll also find insider info on how to make perfect grilled veggies every time. George Foreman's Indoor Grilling Made Easy even includes finger foods for a party and a Thanksgiving dinner made on the grill. Portions feed a family of four but can easily be ownsized for those living on their own (or doubled for Foreman-sized families).
· Includes a nutritional analysis of every dish
· Line drawings throughout

a gift.......2007-05-06
This was a wedding gift.....BUT when I leafed through it I was unimpressed with the recipes! OR lack of!!!
Yes, this book is not for foodies (whatever that means).......2007-01-06
Foodies, I guess, are people who.... like food? Like to cook?
Yea, this cookbook isn't for those people. But, then again, a George Foreman grill is not for those people.
I eat food. I like food. I do have a George Foreman Grill. I don't have kids and don't usually want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
I really like this book.
Great & easy recipes.......2006-06-30
It's George! It gotta be good. This book provides excellent yet simple recipes that you will use over and over! Good hearty fare!
G. Foreman's book, "Indoor Grilling Made Easy".......2006-05-24
The reciepes are great! What I like the most is the chart that estimates cooking time for all types of grilling items.
Great Fun Recipes...But Not Really Healthy.......2005-10-14
The recepes are really nice and creative, but if you're trying to eat healthier--this is a book to skip. Just because a recipe is full of grilled veggies, the "health" benefits lessen when you dump enough olive oil, cheeses, etc on them to increase the fat content to a whopping 25-35 grams per serving--of which a lion's share of these recepes sport.
The rubs and marinades section in the back is good, but if you're watching your weight, and don't like to constantly modify your cooking--grill or otherwise--to keep the fat at bay, this is not the book you want.

Great fo when grilling outdoors is not possible........2007-01-22
I just did not find any of these recipes interesting to me. They require too much time, to much preperasion, too many ingredients that I do not stock, and the portions are more then I am willing to eat by myself. But for a family or couple in an apartment, I think it gives some good ideas for nice meals.
Im a Beginner in grilling.......2006-02-18

Perfect Roast Chicken.......2007-08-23
I have made one recipe so far and it was wonderful. The recipe is titled the Perfect Roast Chicken. It was done on the rotissere and turned out excellent.
Informative.......2007-07-30
Like the explanations for the different grilling techniques. Recipes are easy to understand. The several recipes I tried were excellent!
Poorly written, disorganized........2007-01-13
Too many recipes are as basic as 'salt pepper and garlic'. Poor indexing. I was seeking more infomation on the merits of different techniques and did not find it. Very short on recipes for stovetop smokers.
Indoor! Grilling as good as outdoor and EASIER!.......2005-09-09
We don't have an outdoor grill. I love my George Foreman grill but didn't have a good variety of recipes and still always envied my friends who cooked incredible recipes on their gas grills outdoors. No more! I am loving the variety and end result of many of the recipes I've tried in this new, comprehensive cookbook!
THE GRILLIN' GURU IS BACK!.......2005-01-19
Steve Raichlen is the Grillin' guru and author of such books as BBQ USA, The Barbeque Bible and more. In this book, Steve tackles the problem that those of us in the frozen north face every year at this time. The snows on the ground, it's 15 degrees, and none of us wants to leave the warm comforts of our home to go out and fire up the grill.
No problem. Steve presents a cookbook with us in mind. These are recipes of outside grills that Steve gives us an equivalent to make using electric grills, stove top grills, even fireplace rotisseries to make these great recipes. Steve's book covers all the usual suspects including Beef, Chicken, seafood, veggies, sauces, appetizers and more, all designed to be prepared on whatever indoor grilling aplliance you choose to use. Steve also provides mucho helpful information on all of the indoor grilling machines and how to get the best use AND taste out of them.
Unless you have a fireplace, and I don't, you might not be able to really duplicate the taste of Mesquite or applewood, but you can still mare some darn good BBq in the dead of winter. And the Superbowl is only a few weeks away!

Great Book for Grilling.......2007-08-26
This book has a lot of good information on portable grills. It contained a lot of things that I did not know that were extremely helpful. After reading this book, I feel that I can use both my George Foreman portable grills easily. Thanks for writing such an informative grilling book.
Easy To Love.......2006-04-27
I can boil water except I usually burn it, so imagine my joy to find a cook book with so many easy to use and tasty ideas. My favorite cooking item is my George Forman grill and everything I have tried so far comes out great. Her varied uses for chicken are most welcome to those of us on special diets or just trying to cut the fat from our diets. The ingredients are easy to assemble and instructions easy to follow. I also gave a copy of this book to my uncle in Missouri. He is a legendary griller. The back yard is his kingdom. He has enjoyed her book and has gotton some great new ideas from it. Thank you Grill Power for bringing me and my George Forman even closer than before.
1 star because 0 stars was unavailable!.......2006-03-22
Do listen to the sour grapes reviews. This book is for people looking for meals that you cannot pull together without first shopping at multiple locations to purchase the ingredients. I prefer simple recipes with items I can find in my pantry or pick up on my way home from work. Save your $$$!!!!
Excellent Book...Ignore the sour grapes review.......2006-03-04
This book has been fantastic even for an experienced griller. The recipes are excellent and the organization of the book makes it user friendly. I do not find the "fluff" I have found in many pop cook books and absolutely don't know where the sour grapes vindictive reviewer below is coming from.
I have done lots of outdoor and indoor grilling and have used two kinds of indoor grills and found Grillpower very helpful on both types. I commend the author and look forward to other books down the pike. I concur with all the other positive reviewers. Five stars on this one.
Save your money!.......2006-02-28
This book was a huge disappointment, what fluff they filled the pages with. Most of the book is dedicated to reused recipes where she substitutes the grill for what would normally be a frying pan. Eighty percent of the book is recipes and eighty percent of the recipe info is about other things besides the grilling. That means 64 percent of the book is not about grilling!
There is very little useful info for new grill purchasers. This book is a marketing ploy for new grill buyers. There are better cookboooks out there for recipes. With them I will figure out how to substitute the grill for the frying pan, without the author's help. Even her stated qualifications as an author for this book are sad. I went through this book over the first few days I had it. Right now I'm not sure where I left it, and I don't care a bit.
In regards to the high regards; maybe it's their first cookbook?

Customer Reviews:
It's ok.......2007-01-03
The recipes are OK, I purchased it from Amazon because Crate and Barrel had it at one time so I thought it would be a good book since I have enjoyed Crate's books in the past. However, this one was a lot smaller than expected and the recipes were just OK. I always say if you can get one or two good recipes then you should get the book because a good recipe is hard to come by, which you can with this book. So if you are looking for just that then this book will be a perfect buy.
Not to the traditional English taste.......2006-02-23
We bought this after purchasing a George Foreman electric grill. The recipe book with the Grill does not provide much in the way of basic methods and recipes, and we were looking for something more expansive and fundamental. It did not mention bacon for instance. The Ridgaway book however is very American and does not consider a more traditional English taste. We have found it therefore rather unhelpful and probably a waste of money. We are both pensioners. Is there anything for pensioners of Old England?

Book Description
Simmer or Sizzle: Cooking with your Slow Cooker or Contact Grill provides new and inventive ways to bring great food to the table. Dinner can be a nightly challenge and most families are desperately in need of a realistic, creative guide that allows them to win this culinary battle. This book is unique in that it combines great cooking and creative recipes with two time saving appliances: the slow cooker and the contact grill. Slow cookers, known for simmering rich stews and comforting soups, strike a flavor balance against the contact grill that sears burgers and creates crisp sandwiches. Most importantly, both of these electric marvels empower you to get dinner on the table. Slow cookers are different from other cooking techniques and far too frequently cookbooks did not address this difference. Many cooks enjoyed the convenience of the slow cooker yet found that foods weren't appealing or flavorful. This book combines the convenience of a slow cooker with great flavor, and demonstrates the tremendous versatility of the contact grill. Each chapter conveniently presents general recipe mainstays like beef, chicken, pork, soups, stews, and burgers. Sometimes a pot roast or slow simmered beef ragout is appropriate but the next day you might enjoy an Asian flavored steak. Each recipe quickly guides you, via a distinctive icon, to a cooking style and appliance that fits the day: slow cooker or contact grill. Just turn to the traditional food category and find the recipe and timing that fits your schedule, and get ready to enjoy great food!

A Winner Even with Hard to Please Kids!.......2006-11-14
This cookbook has quickly become a family favorite! We have yet to select and make a recipe that we didn't love - including my two boys, ages 13 and 9. The recipes are easy to follow and delicious. I have two very picky eaters, and several of the recipes are so good, they will warm the leftovers for breakfast! A few of our favorites are Artichoke and Spinach Cheese Spread, Rustic Italian Beef Ragu, Chicken Con Queso, and Biscuit-Topped Chicken Potpie.
Simmer or Sizzle.......2006-10-03
Full of practical tips on simple, home-cooked meal planning, "Simmer and Sizzle" is the ideal solution for today's busy consumers. Using two of America's most common appliances: the Crock Pot and the contact grill (AKA George Forman Grill). incorporating shortcuts and tips, and cooking from a pantry of prepared foods--whether canned, frozen, jarred, dried, Moore and Wyss tell how to make over 200 appetizers, sauces, salads, soups, sides, and main courses, vegetables, and deserts. This book contains a wide variety of unusual recipes for using your Crock Pot and the contact grill - without requiring expensive one-time use spices and seasonings.
It has a great recipe for Beef and Onion Fajitas (always a favorite with kids!) as well as really good recipes for Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad and a fancy Grilled Tenderloin with Pepper Cream Sauce.
This book makes a great gift for the new bride, college grad in their first apartment, or even the empty-nested seniors who lack motivation to cook.
The only minor flaw I found in this book was that occasionally a recipe is continued on the back of a page - requiring clean hands to turn the page!
If you only use that Crock Pot sitting around the house to heat up soup this is the place to find out all lot more you can do. Grilling with "George" just got more creative with the recipes in this book. The results are delicious and the book is a recommended read!

Customer Reviews:
A nice little cookbook!.......2003-05-29
When I purchased this book on impulse at a remainders store, I didn't realize how nice it really was. The cheerful yellow pages are inviting and the foods are nicely photographed, though not every recipe has a photo.
I bought a universal grill that had absolutely no information on how to use it except for making panini, and this book told me everything I needed to know to do basic grilling and then some.
The book is divided into chapters on grilling various foods (poultry, beef, seafood, vegetables and vegetarian entrees, etc.) plus a chapter on sauces, rubs and marinades, and another on side dishes and accompaniments. And there's even one on desserts, which I wouldn't have thought of finding in a grilling book. The butter-rum grilled bananas sound pretty good!
Useful for those who have either grill pans or electric two-sided grills, the book explains how to use both with each recipe. Unfortunately, this book appears to be close to being out of print.
Terrific Book.......2002-02-13
Great cookbook with some creative and unusual recipes. The Pork Loin with Cider-Molasses Sauce was a big hit with the family. We'll be referring to this one regularly as we break in our George Foreman Grill. Only wish there was more nutritional information included BUT it isn't intended to be a low fat or low calorie cookbook. Most recipes aren't heavy though and those that are appear to look as if they can easily trimmed down a bit.
