I was interested to get this but really REALLY disappointed when one of the first tips was to call 100 people. No kidding. I found this to be a lot of re-hash of old ideas. Some decent tips but you really have to search for them. Bad layout, too. Not easy to read. Lots of stuff sort of thrown at you. If you are really NEW to sales, you might benefit but most of it you can get through better books or free in internet searches, your team leader, etc.

This book gave me a lot of great ideas for my Pampered Chef business. It was very helpful with answering objections and working with my downline. I only have 2 so far, but I will be better able to help them become successful. I had to pace myself or I would have read the whole thing in one sitting!

I didn't find this book terribly useful. Most of the concepts presented in the book were common sense and did not specifically apply to business. The book centered around typical social etiquette (which certainly applies in the business world), but did not provide much business-specific guidance. I found that most of the concepts were covered in general etiquette publications. I was also disappointed to find that the book did not provide specific solutions for breaches in business etiquette. I guess I was looking for some nice catch-phrases and replies for the business user. I do think the book was simple to read, and might be a good book for newcomers to American business etiquette.

This is an easy to read booklet; I read it while waiting at the airport in Madrid to catch my flight back to the USA.

Ann Marie Sabath, like many of us Americans, knows what is right and wrong in our country 'etiquettely speaking;' however, she is presumptuous when she gives 'international' business etiquette advice.

I agree with the reviewer, who was born and raised in Hong Kong, who says that Ms. Sabath is giving etiquette advice about the Chinese without the proper knowledge of the culture. For a person to really know the etiquette of a country, he should have been born in that country and/or have lived in it for a number of years.

Being born in a country AND living in it, however, is the best way to know 'the customs and etiquette' of a particular country. Ms. Sabath should stick with 'American' business etiquette.

Ann Marie Sabath has a way of getting directly to the point, making this book an excellent reference for anyone wondering about the rules of etiquette in the workplace. Her book deals with the issues that most executives need to know. At a time when informality and familiarity seem to rule, Sabath's book clarifies what is appropriate for the reader's success both personally and professionally. If anyone wants to know how to "climb the slippery ladder of success", as Sabath says, just let them read this book.

Always looking for new and exciting cocktails to try, I purchased this book. Each page became more interesting, not only for the drinks presented but for the knowledge that Mr. Bondurant shares about Tahiti, it's culture, local accomodations, etc.

The photos are exceptional and each drink I have mixed has been better than the last. I have bought several as gifts for coworkers and friends. You won't be disappointed!

I have never been to Tahiti, but after reading the fun, informative facts about Tahiti, seeing the beautiful pictures, and sampling some of the excellent cocktail recipes, I am ready to go!

Mr. Bondurant's love and knowledge of Tahiti come through clearly in the book, which is very well laid out. It provides enough information and explains things in such a way that an amateur can make delicious Tahitian cocktails as well as the most experienced bartender. The fun facts about Tahiti, along with summaries of the total hotels and the gorgeous pictures, makes this book a must have.

Until I can take my first trip to Tahiti, this book will help bring a little Tahiti to my home.

I love Halloween and had looked FOREVER to find a book to help with some ideas in the celebration and this book is it! This book gives ideas and step by step how to's in playing games, making recipes and creating props. Straightforward, easy, non-crafty and fun. Age limits are put on the games so you know which ones to use, or not to use. I have bought so many Halloween how to books that just sit on the shelf. This one does not! I have dog eared and paper clipped this one into tatters! This IS the book to buy!

This year I purchased a number of books on Halloween in order to get more ideas for my annual Halloween party for children ages 2 to 8. This book is a gem, best of the batch. I was able to use at least 10 ideas from this book, including "Stick the Nose on the Pumpkin", "Bopping for Apples", "Halloween Hunt" "Witches Brew" punch, etc. These ideas are easy to use, and not time consuming, unlike the ones I found in other books... where the prime requirement seems to be having a lot of spare time to carry out their ideas. I will use this book over and over again in years to come!

    This book was very easy to read and gave me quick and easy information! I have been reading a lot of books to prepare for my wedding but this one was the easiest to read. It is organized by asking and answering questions. I skipped the parts that didn't pertain to me and read the ones that did. I even had my fiance look at a few things in it. It did have a couple things/answers that I felt may be out dated but I took that with the knowledge that books take a while to be written and over all the answers were specific but general enough for me to fit into any situation.

    I bought this book because I went back to work and wanted to use our crockpot more often, but should have looked around some more. While this book didn't seem to have as many recipes that required a lot of preparation - sometimes the prep work negates the benefit of using the darned thing in the first place - it also relies too much on canned products, in my opinion. If all I need to do is open a can, I could just buy some Chunky Soup and skip the whole cooking process.

    I was hoping for something a little more healthy and can probably make some of these recipes work with minor adjustments - and it might be great for beginning cooks. It just wasn't worth $10.20 for me and I wish I hadn't spent the money.

    "Crazy About Crockpots! 101 Soups and Stews for Less than 75 cents a Serving" is a cookbook for the busy cook who still wants to provide their family or their self with hearty meal that is much more than just heating up a can of soup. With recipes like Cream of Mushroom soup you can make your favorites from scratch. There are traditional recipes like Ham and Beans, Onion Soup, and Chili that you would expect and recipes like Cheese and Potato Soup (absolutely great), Cheesy Chowder, or Corn Chowder that are a bit more unusual. Most of the recipes are quick and easy to fix and taste wonderful. If you want to know what to do with that crockpot besides heating up canned soup you are sure to find some great ideas and very tasty recipes in this book. "Crazy About Crockpots! 101 Soups and Stews for Less than 75 cents a Serving" is a recommended read for anyone with a crockpot.

    This book is great! I have already made 3 of the menus and it was incredible each time. The book tells you everything from what type of wine, how to set the table and most importantly, what you can make ahead and how to have everything ready at the same time. For once I was drinking wine with my husband, waiting for the guests instead of rushing around at the last minute. Did I mention the meals are incredible?

    In "Entertaining 101," the authors present recipes for a whole meal: appetizer, wines, entree, and dessert, so you don't have to bother figuring out what goes with what! They are themed for the holidays, and turn out tasting delicious and looking great! I have very little cooking experience, but their directions are easy to follow and very clear. Also, their food is healthy and fat-conscious without being bland or boring. This book is fantastic!

    This book is an entertainers dream come true. No more backbreaking work, no more sore feet, and above all, no more feeling like I'm going to fall asleep during the party. Why does entertaining have to be so exhausting? There is no need to spend 8 hours in the kitchen getting ready for your guests to spend 3 hours enjoying. Why not just spend one hour, and enjoy yourself? This is the book for you! The recipes are easy, quick and excellent. With 52 different menus to choose from, you're set for the entire year. I found myself wishing the summer away because some of the winter menus looked so great! Now all I need to do is figure out who to invite over and enjoy myself.

    Kudos to the authors who put together menus for real people. This book is sincere in its aim to be useful: not too many ingredients, advice on how to get it done ahead of time, enticing menus. One of my hobbies is reading cooking mags and books. This one is chock full of lots of ideas I will be able to use (not only for guest, but for my family too).

    Entertaining 101 simplifiesby entertaining by making it entertaining enjoyable by emphasizing cooking skills and sophisitcated tastes. One can choose from 52 multicultural menus that are designed for entertaining but will leave the host or hostess with time to enjoy the party. Most menues can be prepared (in total) in less than 2 hours, and many of the menu items can be prepared a day or so before the feast. The book encourages potential hosts and hostesses to relax about entertaining and includes tips on how to minimize the work of preparing the table while preserving elegance. The authors have also included interviews with wine, cheese, and entertaining professionals to demystify the black arts of throwing a dinner party. A great gift for those of us that want to entertain friends and loved ones but just can't find the time. I found out about the book from a feature about it in the 11/5/97 Newark Star Ledger
