Book Description
Parents will do almost anything to get their kids to eat healthier, but unfortunately, they've found that begging, pleading, threatening, and bribing don't work. With their patience wearing thin, parents will "give in" for the sake of family peace, and reach for "kiddie" favorites--often nutritionally inferior choices such as fried fish sticks, mac n' cheese, Pop-sicles, and cookies.
Missy Chase Lapine, former publisher of Eating Well magazine, faced the same challenges with her two young daughters, and she sought a solution. Now in The Sneaky Chef, Lapine presents over 75 recipes that ingeniously disguise the most important superfoods inside kids' favorite meals. With the addition of a few simple make-ahead purees or clever replacements, (some may surprise you!) parents can pack more fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants in their kids' foods. Examples of "Sneaky" recipes include:
-No Harm Chicken Parm
-Power Pizza
-Incognito Burritos
-Guerilla Grilled Cheese
-Brainy Brownies
-Health-by-Chocolate Cookies
-Quick fixes for Jell-O(R)
It's a book chock-full of strategies that will help any parent incorporate better health for the whole family.

AWESOME idea and the food actually taste good too!!.......2007-10-11
I LOVE this cookbook!! I have made many of the recipes and they have all been a huge hit with my family. The burgers are fabulous and the sloppy-joes - which I have NEVER liked before - are now one of my favorite meals. You cannot go wrong with this book!! One of my kids is a great eater while the other won't eat veggies for anything. Now, he's eating veggies with almost every meal (w/o knowing it, of course). I have baked things for friends and for my kids' classes ... and everyone loves it!! The only thing we didn't like -- the cupcakes were horrible!! I am going to try to make them again ... I must have done something wrong. There is no way we could love everything else in the book but hate the cupcakes so much. :o)
Wonderful!.......2007-10-10
Two out of my three kids are picky eaters and they ate all of the meals I made from this book! It feels good to know that they are getting added nutrients that they wouldn't normally be eating. It does take extra time to prepare some of these recipes but it is worth it to me if my kids are getting nutritious meals. Great book!
A must have for every parent!.......2007-10-10
I was watching IVillage and the author was a guest speaker. She explained how easy it was to incorporate fruits and vegetables into basic recipes. I thought that was too good to be true but liked the concept. Since both my children are picky eaters I figured I would give it a try so I purchased the book. So far, every recipe I made from the book, they ate and ENJOYED! I even send in the cupcakes/cookies to school on their birthdays instead of sugary snacks (which the teachers love so the kids don't bounce off the walls). I wouldn't call this being sneaky, I would call it being smart! I highly recommend this book.
Very Happy Mom.......2007-10-10
The Sneaky Chef - I'm so glad I found this! I took about a month of weekends to get the freezer stocked with the purees - am using them now. The pbj muffins, the choc choc chip cookies, the tuna (salmon) patties, all hugely successful. My extremely picky child, who doesn't miss a thing, is eating the treats with the mom-approved hidden ingredients.
I used my ice cube trays to freeze the purees, so 2 cubes = 1/4 cup.
I also like it for myself, I won't take the time to prep fresh veggies, especially cauliflower, but now I'm eating better too, using the purees.
I love this book!.......2007-10-10
This is such a great book. I love that the recipes are all child friendly and I think the concept is brilliant! I have learned not only how to make her recipes, but also how to use her techniques for the recipes I already make at home. I found the extra hints and tips to be very informative and helpful and I loved that she used ingredients that are readily accessible and easy to keep on hand. My kids have eaten a ton of extra veggies and they can't even complain because they don't know it!!!

Helpful if you are outgoing and experienced.......2007-05-14
This book has some ideas on how to find a third person, but they all seemed to be geared towards someone with experience in same-sex or group-sex activities. If you are wanting to try this out as "something new" then most of these tips may be too scary or uncomfortable for you!
Plus, it gives ideas like, "Place a personal ad." We all know about that route! Give me something I wouldnt think of myself!!!
In Response To Jennifer M's Review.......2007-05-06
This is just in response to Jennifer M's review and advice. I'm a guy and if you (the woman) seek out another woman on your own and don't include me (the male) thats not a threesome, thats lesbian sex. There is a big difference between the two, maybe you have not experienced a threesome but I guarentee you it's a totally different exerience than having one same sex partner. Think along these lines, one partner has two hands, one mouth, etc etc, two partners have 4 hands, two mouths, two private parts, to touch you with. Think about it, plus when you do a threesome in a committed relationship you will find that if you are both on the same page beforehand that your relationship will become stronger and that now you have many possibilities sexualy that you didn't before. If you have seperate lesbian sex I don't see that as fulfilling the m/f relationship and may result in resentment from the male (if he knows about it, which you probably didn't tell him you were going to do) and not reenforcing the BI element of the woman resulting in a dissinterest eventually in a straight component of the relationship. My bottom line is I think Jennifer is a lesbian who resents bisexuality, but thats my opinion so take it for what its worth. I'm ordering this book, after having done a threesome in Thailand with the same woman and my wife for a week, if nothing else just to get the communication continuing, and keep the talk going for this great encounter in my future, I'll update my review after I see the results, but just had to weigh in on Jennifer's advice to skip the threesome and move straight into 2 person lesbian sex.
Sexist!!! Stereotyped!!! Objectifying!!!.......2007-02-22
This is the most sexist book I have ever read. Women are portrayed as an object for men to play with. It stereotypes men as horny pigs that use women including their spouse only for sex. This book stereotypes the fact that women are not as sexual as men and have to be convinced by her spouse to have sex with him and another woman. This book is not ment for anyone intending to have sex including one woman and two men. In the event that one woman has sex with two men, the scenario includes all three people being drunk, and the woman who was instigating it all claims that the two men took advantage of her. If this book could be rated less than one star then I would have done so.
Well Put!.......2005-06-17
This book was the first book I've ever read on threesomes. Being a Threesome Expert Myself I have to admit that this book is a good "beginners book".
A Woman's Guide to Bisexuality and Bi-Curiosity.......2005-01-23
I had read this book years ago. But I recently revisited it to see if my perspectives on it had changed. And you know what? They had!
'Threesomes -- How To Fulfill Your Favorite Fantasy' by Lori Gammon is one of the best works of its kind I've ever read - and one of the first titles I ever came across which acknowledged the strength and prevalence of female bisexuality (women being interested in other girls sexually to some degree) - and how to fulfill this desire by engaging in a two-girl threesome.
Back when this was written (which wasn't that long ago), Lori, the author, had suggested using a threesome as a means for women to fulfill their same-sex longing - while avoiding the stigma of being called a lesbian.
For threesomes, Lori teaches us why lesbians won't be interested (because they want a monogamous, long-term relationship with women only), and why it's important for the female member (in the relationship) to take the initiative to seek out other girls, which tells other women that both members are serious about finding a third partner.
This is difficult for females, of course - because women aren't used to being the `initiator' - and are instead more accustomed to being the `gatekeeper' - as men wine and dine us in order to get between our legs! Everything Lori teaches us to fulfill our bisexual longing - is basically how to act like a man - in order to charm women into our beds (which actually isn't bad advice at all!).
An entire chapter is spent instructing us how to use personal want ads (which is something I would never do). But I guess the major issue I`ve always had with this book - that I realize now - is needing to fulfill my bisexual desires by using a threesome. As much as I love my guy, I'm not sure I want to share him with another (unattached) babe - especially one cute enough for me to be attracted to!
I also think that the world has changed somewhat since this book was written. I could be wrong, but lesbianism - and female bisexuality - aren't nearly the no-no's they were just a few years ago. So my advice for women is to take this book's teachings - and apply it - without the threesome element! (Just seek out another girl - on your own!)
And rather than using want ads, go instead to the book's very next chapter - which tells you how to turn your friend - into your lover (which is again advice which I've found to be much more fruitful!).
Most of my friends are married. And my lover(s) and I never have any desire to leave our mates - for each other! (Because that's for lesbians -- which we aren't - which also makes our encounters much less complicated!)
And the belief that having sex with your best friend will destroy your friendship - is just a bunch of bunk (probably spread, in fact, by men!). In reality, I've found the opposite to be true!
The major watch-out for women, speaking candidly -- is that females take a lot longer to reach satisfaction (which is why foreplay and seduction are so important). And the major element for making this kind of relationship successful - which Lori fails to highlight - is that everything needs to be kept absolutely confidential (which is like asking some women to cut out their tongues!). It's amazing how many opportunities will open up to you sexually (pun intended) - if you can keep a secret! Honest!
Now, Lori doesn't mention this either, but if a woman really insists upon including her mate, a method that one of my girlfriends claims works for her is to have a (modified) foursome - not a threesome! The men are sequestered in separate bedrooms - and the women (together) come to each of them in turn. The women are free to engage each other however they please - and the man can watch (and make suggestions)! But each man is only allowed to penetrate his wife (or girlfriend) -- and not the other -- although other forms of interplay (such as oral sex) could be added as an option. (Most men, I'm told, are more than happy with this arrangement.)
To conclude, when it comes to seducing other women, Lori Gammon, the author, appears to be an expert! But the times, I believe, have moved on -- and I wish she would rewrite this book - teaching women instead how to fulfill their bisexual longings on their own (with a threesome or a foursome as just a variation).
And if she would include the physical techniques for pleasing women as well, that would also be helpful (since one would now need to purchase another book in order to glean this information).
Despite all of these shortcoming, I still consider Lori's 'Threesomes' work to be the most definitive `how to' guide to help women satisfy their bi-curious side. Being bi-curious, after all -- is nice! But being bisexual (even part-time) - is much, much better! Enjoy.

Great Cook Book.......2007-02-15
I love to cook. Over the years I have collected a large number of cookbooks of all varieties. I am also of Italian decent so naturally I am somewhat biased with regards to Italian cookbooks. I owned a copy of this book for years and I used it so often that it literally fell apart so I purchased another copy. The recipes in this book are extremely easy to follow and Dom Deluise fills the book with humorous stories that any Italian can relate to. The meals I have cooked bring back memories of eating at my grandparents home and the taste is almost identical to the way my grandmother made them. I thought those meals would be lost forever when they died but thanks to Dom, I can re-create them in my own home and my children can carry on the tradition. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to cook and eat great southern Italian food.
the easiest and by far the best italian cookbook ever .......2005-10-26
I lived with a very Italian aunt who made the best food, and for so many years I assumed that these recipes- lental soup, pasta fagioule, eggs with tomato sauce, pasta primavera etc were from hand me down recipes. To my surprise, after inquiring about how to make "her tuna fingers," she handed me this book. It blew me away how simple and easy the recipes were. Really good Italian food! Its a shame that I bought so many Italian cookbooks trying to perfect these dishes when they were all right here. Dom Deluise adds personal stories which are a little sappy but still entertaining as well. It gives you something to read while your cooking dinner. Enjoy
Read this...it'll make you feel better.......2004-08-28
My mom bought this book when it first came out in the late 80s. This was probably the first cookbook I ever looked at. I loved the stories and started trying out the recipes when I was about 11 or 12. Throughout the years the book has lost a few pages, gained quite a few smudges, and has literally broken in half, but it's still my favorite cookbook. In fact, I like to think it is this book that ultimately inspired me to go to Italy to attend culinary school. I'm now moving into my very first apartment and am ordering another copy of it (don't want to take my mom's) so that I can have it with me...even though I've pretty much memorized it. I know I'll be using this book my whole life.
Our favorite cook book.......2002-02-24
We have used the book so many times that this is the third time that we have had to buy it.
Greate Italian cooking.
The best ever Italian Cookbook.......2002-02-15
I have used this cookbook so many times that the book is literally falling apart. Because of this book, many friends and family members have ranked me as one of the best cooks they have ever met. Thanks Dom! Aside from the great recipes, Dom Deluise has you on the floor laughing with his great family stories.

Book Description
Remember your favorite meal when you were a kid? Maybe it was a hearty helping of Mom’s fabulous meatloaf, a side of creamy mashed potatoes, and a slice of chocolate layer cake for dessert. Maybe that’s still your favorite dinner, only now you use a mixture of ground meats and a handful of chopped herbs for the meatloaf, stir roasted garlic into the potatoes, and tuck fresh raspberries into individual molten-centered chocolate cakes—just like the owners of Stonewall Kitchen. When it comes to re-invigorating classic flavors, nobody does it better than Stonewall Kitchen, whose condiments, preserves, and dressings have tickled the taste buds of millions across the country for more than fifteen years. Now, in their follow-up to the IACP Award–nominated Stonewall Kitchen Harvest, Jonathan King, Jim Stott, and Kathy Gunst share their all-time favorite recipes for America’s favorite dishes.
Here is the food we crave, updated for today’s tastes with ingredients such as fresh herbs, citrus zest, fresh ginger, and spices. A swirl of basil puree enlivens Spaghetti Carbonara, adding yet another dimension of flavor to this celebrated dish. New Eggs Benedict trade their heavy, complicated hollandaise sauce and Canadian bacon for a light, quick chive-lemon butter, smoked salmon, and baby spinach. New England Five Onion Soup with Cheddar Croûtes puts a decidedly American spin on France’s most famous soup. Given Stonewall’s passion for condiments, naturally the sauces and salsas are spectacular, with everything from Winter Parsley Pesto to Orange-Miso Dipping Sauce. To keep these dishes fresh for years to come, nearly every recipe includes up to a dozen “favorite variations.” With chapters including Breakfast; Soups and Chowders; Salads; Sandwiches; Seafood; Pasta, Potatoes, and Bread; Poultry and Meat; Vegetables; Sauces and Salsas; and Dessert and tips on everything from eggs to bacon to cheese to chocolate liberally scattered throughout the book, Stonewall Kitchen Favorites celebrates and rejuvenates the time-honored American cuisine we all love.
Complete with 125 irresistible recipes, 150 stunning full-color photographs, and a foreword by Ina Garten, author of the bestselling Barefoot Contessa cookbook series, here is a new, tempting look at America’s most cherished dishes—the food you’ll want to eat night after night. Stonewall Kitchen Favorites helps families create new memories of favorite meals at the table.

Sounds yummy..........2007-08-02
I just received the book last night and immediately sat down to look through it. I liked what I saw. The recipes don't seem daunting, the ingredient lists aren't lengthy or esoteric, the techniques are simple, and, my favorite feature, most recommend what I like to call "go-with's," i.e., a suggestion of what to serve with the featured recipe, usually some other recipe in the book and not just "chicken," or "roast beef." My only complaint, and the reason I gave it only four stars, is that the would-be beautiful photographs are way over-exposed and bleached out. One photo in particular, of a roast tenderloin of beef, seems oddly saturated after-the-fact with a deep red, making the meat undesirably artificial looking. Such a shame in such a nicely layed out volume.
A good gift.......2007-07-16
The book (cookbook)is good, of course. More importantly, it's condition was perfect and made a good gift.
Well worth investing in!.......2007-02-23
This recipe book is packed with delicious, inspiring recipes. I'm an average, though not avid, cook, but reading through this selection from Stonewall left me wanting to try nearly all the recipes! Most of them have a fresh, yet easy, twist to them. I heartily recommend this for your recipe book collection, whether you're an expert or average in the kitchen.
A fine pick.......2006-12-12
The owners of Stonewall Kitchen specialize in updated versions of comfort food, adding condiments, preserves and spices to jazz up these American favorites, so Stonewall Kitchen Favorites is packed with seemingly familiar dishes spiced with new flavors and approaches. Here's a Chopped Greek Salad with Lemon Caper Dressing or a Spaghetti Carbonara with Basil Swirl. Even the lowly Waldorf Salad receives jazzy embellishment. Any who like the familiar favorites but desire more variety will find this a fine pick, packed with color photos throughout.

Book Description
What does Camilla see in Charles? Did the Duchess of Windsor REALLY think she was going to get the crown of England? Learn the scandalous truth about the illicit relationships of some of history's most powerful men – and the women who slept with them to get to the top. There was Madam de Pompadore – brainy but passionless mistress of Louis XV and her successor Madam duBarry . beautiful, stupid, but a whole lot more fun.
Fascinating, and endlessly entertaining, Sex With Kings explores sex, power, money, rivalry and revenge. This non–fiction journey through 500 years takes the reader into the throne rooms and bedrooms of Europe's most powerful kings. From the dawn of time, power has been a mighty aphrodisiac. The royal mistress, having conquered a king, often ran his kingdom, wielding her sexuality as sceptre. Sex With Kings is trailblazing in its exploration of this intriguing phenomenon – the position of royal mistress at European courts, the fascinating women who filled it, and how their responsibilities and rewards changed over the centuries. This is a chapter of women's history which has remained unwritten – until now.

"
Throughout the centuries, royal mistresses have been worshiped, feared, envied, and reviled. They set the fashions, encouraged the arts, and, in some cases, ruled nations. Eleanor Herman's Sex with Kings takes us into the throne rooms and bedrooms of Europe's most powerful monarchs. Alive with flamboyant characters, outrageous humor, and stirring poignancy, this glittering tale of passion and politics chronicles five hundred years of scintillating women and the kings who loved them.
Curiously, the main function of a royal mistress was not to provide the king with sex but with companionship. Forced to marry repulsive foreign princesses, kings sought solace with women of their own choice. And what women they were! From Madame de Pompadour, the famous mistress of Louis XV, who kept her position for nineteen years despite her frigidity, to modern-day Camilla Parker-Bowles, who usurped none other than the glamorous Diana, Princess of Wales.
The successful royal mistress made herself irreplaceable. She was ready to converse gaily with him when she was tired, make love until all hours when she was ill, and cater to his every whim. Wearing a mask of beaming delight over any and all discomforts, she was never to be exhausted, complaining, or grief-stricken.

NEW TWIST ON ROYALTY!.......2007-10-01
This is one of the funniest books on European Royalty I've read in a long time. As a student of history, I have heard of most of the royal mistresses mentioned but this was a great new way of telling the stories. It was almost like reading a girls gossip ring on paper and I couldn't put it down. I couldn't believe some of the things these men and women got away with!
All in all a GREAT book! A must have for anyone interested in history or royalty.
WIll stimulate your interest in learning more history........2007-08-25
Eleanor Herman's book, Sex with Kings, is full of fun gossip. It is an easy non-complicated book that may start some readers off as future history fans. I think this book would be good as a supplement to a college freshman western civilization history course. If I was teaching European history to freshmen, I would use this book, along with other more scholarly books, but I think this book is very humorous, entertaining, and full of nasty details about the intimate lives of the powerful. It may make history come alive for those who find history boring.
There is one major problem with the book. Herman decided to group her chapters around various themes, such as the rivalry between the queen and the king's mistress, or the husband of the king's mistress, the riches to be obtained as the king's mistress, the potential political power that might be obtained, the issue of royal bastards, public opinion of the mistress, and the change of winds that occur when the king dies before his mistress. This would appear to be a very sensible way to organize the chapters, however it also means that each chapter is full of small paragraphs on each amorous couple and thus the text seems disorganized and choppy. If Herman had selected 12 royal mistresses and then followed the themes she identifies within each of these stories, the text would have been more easily understood and the narrative flow would improve.
That being said, the various adventures in this book were very entertaining. The story of Anthenais de Montespan and Louis XIV was a highlight of the book. Anthenais is obsessed with remaining as the king's favorite, involved in attempts to keep all beauties away from the eyes of the king while giving him secret love potions. Yet she is trumped by her children's old maid governess, Madame de Maintenon, who eventually becomes the king's legal wife after the death of the Queen. This is a fascinating twist of fate, and yet as Louis XIV grew older and more mature, it would only seem natural that he was less interested in exotic young beautiful lovers and became interested in a woman of intelligence, character and good judgement.
The mistress that receives the most coverage is, of course, Jeanne-Antoinette Etioles, Marquise de Pompadour. This beautiful, refined, intelligent, and sophisticated woman ruled the court of Louis XV, a man of normal intelligence and instincts but not a great thinker or strategist. Pompadour was probably the most influential and powerful of all royal mistresses in Western Civilization, chosing to make critical decisions of state on behalf of the king rather than to worry about jewels and finery.
The most entertaining mistress would have to be Lady Castlemaine, lover of Charles II. Her ability to manipulate Charles II, while gathering untold riches for herself, is almost unbelievable. Charles II actually was unable to pay the sailors in his navy because of the funds he spent on Lady Castlemaine.
The life of Marie Jeanne du Barry, the final mistress of Louis XV, is a wild tale of a beautiful prostitute, elevated to the role of the King's mistress due to her exceptional beauty, and yet she remained an innocent soul with little intelligence. Comtesse du Barry went into retirement with her jewel collection upon the death of Louis XV. Her jewels were stolen and later recovered in London. By this time the revolution had begun and Louis XVI and Marie Antionette were imprisoned. Comtesse du Barry was able to get permission to go to England to reclaim her jewels at a time when the revolutionary government was not allowing the ruling class to leave France. The ironic thing is that du Barry returned to France with her jewels and soon died on the guillotine.
The book ends with the abdication of Edward VIII to marry Wallis Simpson and the affair between Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles. Edward's low intelligence is explored as well as Prince Charles' lack of judgement around his life with Diana. Camilla actually comes across favorably in the final chapters of the book.
The book is full of odd sexy stories that might stimulate folks to actually pick up a history book one day.
a delightful escape!.......2007-07-12
This was a new topic for me - intimate details of European royalty through history. This introduction sparked a newfound interest, which has not faded. This book provides terrific overviews of many mistresses and their relationships with the public, the courts, and their kings - organized by theme/topic. Sex itself, is a small portion of this book (and is not nearly as graphic as you might think at first). I had no idea how many different roles a mistress really played during her life, and have much more admiration (or sometimes disgust) for what these women did to obtain their goals.
The author does a wonderful job at making you feel like you are peeking through keyholes and eavesdropping on gossip, but without being disrespectful to those involved. Although the author has a beautiful and elegant writing style that paints picture after picture, she still manages to let the facts speak for themselves and allows you to draw your own opinions on these women and their controversial lifestyles. Additionally, previous historical expertise is not necessary to enjoy this book. However, be prepared for "accidental learning", as it happens quite easily and unknowingly. This book won't gather dust on you bookshelf. As soon as you're finished, you'll know of a friend to pass it on to...who will do the same when she's finished with it...
If you have any interest or curiosity about the women of this era, or history that takes on a more personal account AND if you enjoy books that allow you to live vicariously, or books that take your mind off of work or some other responsiblilty, I recommend this book.
A wonderful romp in the pages of history.......2007-07-10
I really liked this book. It was written well and very informative. I read a lot of historical fiction and there is almost always a mistress involved in something. This book brings them back to life and gives you insight on how they got to their status and kept it and or lost it.
Very Apealling.......2007-07-07
I am an "avid reader" of historical biographies, and this book would be good for anyone who is just getting into history. The excerpts are short and funny and do their job of keeping your interest! Very interesting!

This is a great idea generator for scrapbookers. Nothing is too fancy or involved - just great "anyone can do this" page ideas. Loved it. Gave one as a gift also.
lots of ideas.......2006-11-30
I am very happy with this book-- It doesn't have a lot of step by step instructions but I got some great ideas by just looking through it. Really cool ideas for ways to cut the pictures themselves, titles, layouts, etc. Not something that will teach you new techniques but if you are wanting something to spice up what you already know without being terribly time involving then you will enjoy this book.

If we want our children to grow up healthy and strong, we need to include more fresh foods in their diets. More and more children and adolescents are now considered over-weight or obese. Fast food and poor-quality ready-to-eat meals are becoming a regular part of the average diet. These processed foods account for 75 percent of the saturated fat and salt that children consume. The good news is that cooking more healthfully for your family doesn't need to be complicated or time-consuming.
In Favorite Family Meals, bestselling children's food author Annabel Karmel applies her signature fresh, creative cooking style to focus on the family and shows how you -- and your children -- can enjoy time spent in the kitchen preparing everyday dishes that are delicious, nutritious, and often just plain fun to make and eat!

Customer Reviews:
Excellent book!.......2007-03-13
I bought this book after I saw the author on The View. I have two small children at home and I wanted easy meals to make that they would eat, along with my husband and me. i found these recipes to be easy to make and delicious! I am not a cook but this book has helped me feel less intimidated by the kitchen and actually made me feel proud that I can cook meals that the whole family eats and likes. great book!
Deja vu all over again.......2006-07-16
Don't get me wrong...I'd have given this 5 stars had I not owned Karmel's First Foods, but as I flipped through this book I had serious deja vu! Not only were many recipes the same as those in First Foods, but several of the beautiful pictures were of the same items! It may take some time to idenify just how many are essentially the same since some recipes have new names ~ though some are as easy as Jell-o boats (FF) and Gelatin boats (FFM), mini-muffin pizzas, fruit smothies,
Despite the repeats, I am excited about the new book as is my almost-5-year-old! She has looked at the colorful photographs and pointed out several items she "can't wait" to try ~ including many with vegetables she had previously labelled "yucky". If Karmel's innovative presentation takes a few more minutes but can encourage my kids to break out of the hot dog/ mac and cheese routine AND sample new veggies, I'll glady buy her next cookbook too...even if it has a few recycled recipes!
Finally they're eating their VEGGIES!!!.......2006-07-09
I am absolutely thrilled with this cookbook. My frustration level with feeding my family was sky high! My 6 and 11 year old kids have been so good about eating the recipes from this book. Most recipes require chopping up a variety of veggies so there is some prep work (which you can do ahead of time) but that is the point. My problem has been getting them to eat something other than broccoli...I'm so happy my kids are eating healthier and I really believe I have this book to thank for it. Thanks Annabel!
Fun food and happy presentations.......2006-07-08
I am a new grandmother and wanted to get this book for fun foods for my grandson. These recipes are a treat for young or old. These are easy to make recipes with delightful presentations. Not only taste good but look good.
These Recipes Really Work.......2006-03-23
I used to have to prepare several different dishes for each meal because my children usually don't like the same foods. However, with Favorite Family Meals, my children and I decide together which meal I will prepare and now we can all eat the same delicious and healthy meal together. So far, my favorite recipe is the Salmon Teriyaki. My kids, of course, love the desserts, particularly, the Teddy Bear Cupcakes.

Great Boxer Book.......2002-07-03
Author Stephanie Abraham put out another great book in 2000. Enough readers & critics enjoyed it to have it earn the same year's "Dog Writers Assoc of America" award. It's a handsome hardcover book with 220+ crisp pages. Pictures on just about every page. Abraham is dedicated to the Boxer breed. She speaks of the Boxer with admiration as only a Boxer owner could. She writes well and in easy to read fashion. Topics include caring for, general health, choosing your Boxer and traits to look for in a puppy, history, basic tips in training... and so much more. I refer to this book constantly. This is a very thorough book and anyone who owns a Boxer should own it. The only thing it doesn't mention - the older your Boxer gets, the more he slobbers. My family (including our Boxer, Max) is better off for it.
WINNER-BEST BREED BOOK of 2000.......2001-11-02
Just to state the fact that The Boxer: Family Favorite won the Dog Writers Association of America award as the Best Single Breed Book of the year 2000. This book is THE definitive in-depth study of the breed by someone who has spent her whole life living with and loving Boxers. The color photographs are outstanding.
The Boxer: Family Favorite -- A Must Have.......2001-08-11
As an owner of three boxers and 10 boxer books, if I could only have one boxer book this would be it. It is full of wonderful information for both people who know and love the breed, and also is a wonderful introduction to someone considering their first boxer.
A Joy To Read.......2001-01-02
The Boxer: Family Favorite is one of the most enjoyable dog books I have read. The author's love of boxers, enthusiasm and dedication to the breed is evident on every page. She provides a wealth of practical information for anyone interested in boxers, the photographs are beautiful, and I recommend this book highly.
The Boxer: Family Favorite.......2000-06-24
Boxer neophytes might call this a "coffee table" book because of the fine quality of the cover, photos, paper, binding, etc. To anyone interested in entering world the Boxer this book says welcome. But we who do own (or expect to own), breed, and show our Boxers will find this book to contain valuable information on all Boxer topics so important to us: history, breeding, puppy selection, health, etc. The writing is clear, well organized, and a pleasure to read. Because Stephanie Abraham is well known in the national and international Boxer world, she had the confidence of the owners of these beautiful dogs so they released these many photos for her book. Experienced Boxer folk will recognize the magnificent Boxers in the crisp, colored photos.

The perfect snow book for a 3-5 year old.......2007-03-08
My son is a huge Charlie and Lola fan. I gave this to him for his 4th birthday recently. There is snow all over the ground. He took the book to pre-school. All the kids love the book. This will be a favorite in our house for years to come; I can't wait to read it to my grandkids too & have my son's face light up again years from now with love for Charlie and Lola!
Excellent.......2007-01-10
Christmas gift for my 9-year old niece!

Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!
Snow is My Favorite and My Best Too!.......2006-12-22
"Snow is My Favorite and My Best" is a wintry "Charlie and Lola" book, based on episode of the TV series.
This is a fun one. Lola says that snow is her "favorite and her best" and she wants it to snow all the time. Indeed, her friend Lotta loves the snow too and they have quite a bit of fun playing in it. So Lola is very disappointed when she discovers that the next day, the snow that fell has almost all melted. Charlie has to think of a way to help his little sister and he comes up with some great ideas indeed. He helps her to see that things wouldn't be nearly as fun if it snowed *all* the time.
"Snow is My Favorite and My Best" is another sweet and charming book from this series. Fans of snow of all ages will appreciate this celebration of things that are good --- in moderation. I think Frosty would approve of this book.

Customer Reviews:
A Great Book. .......2007-08-15
We got this book as a gift for our 3yr old daughter, who is soon going to be a big sister. Reading this book reassures her (what we have been telling her all along) that her mommy & daddy would love her and her new sibling just the same. They both would be our favourites. It address the issue that each child is unique and special in their own way, and loved the same by their parents inspite of their differences.
You're all My Favorites.......2007-07-31
This book is a must have for people who have more than one child. I have three and they all enjoy reading this with me. This book came in excellent condition and in two days like they said it would. Thank you!!
Have Three Children? You Need This Book! .......2007-07-23
I have three children, and when my third boy was born, I received this book as a present. I think my two other boys loved hearing the story of how a mom and dad can love their babies all the same even if there are many of them. It is just an adorable book!
The Name Says It All.......2007-03-15
"You're All My Favorites" is a book about sibling rivally, but on a very surface level. Sam McBratney gets to the heart of a child, without bringing in unnecessary thoughts or feelings. Your child will be able to identify with each of the baby bears (or the baby bear that is most like your child) and come to understand that she/he is loved by you because of who she/he is. Your child will learn that your love isn't based on how she/he looks, performs or whatever else...you just love them (one or more). The illustrations are perfect and grab at the reader to really participate in the story. This is one terrific book.
A great book when a new baby comes.......2005-08-07
We got this book when our second child was born. I think it has helped our older child cope with the loss of attention. He can understand that even though he has to share his parents now, it's not because we don't love him anymore or that the baby is our favorite. It's a fabulous book!
