I have two other skippyjon jones books, and this one doesn't disappoint! My daughter just turned 3 a month ago, and she absolutely loves these books! Sure she doesn't get the humor the way we adults do, but she finds it just as funny and enjoyable in her own way nonetheless. We sometimes read these every day, if not every other, and find that we miss them if we don't. The illustrations are just as good as the writing too! I highly recommend these, you will laugh your head off every time!

My [....] and I have so much fun reading the Skippyjon books. Mummy Trouble is our third. We also have the original Skippyjon Jones and Skippyjon Jones In the Dog House. The CD is a bonus - sometimes my son likes to pop in the CD and listen to the author read the story while he follows along in the book.

Absolutely love this series! Kids cheered when they saw we had a new book and ask that we read them more often than most others. My three year old runs around saying "mummies, mumples and measles" as fast as he can. Hope Ms. Schachner writes many more.

Not as good as her first two Skippy's.......2007-05-12

I loved the first two Skippy books, as did my 6 and 3 yr olds. But, this one talks about mummies and pyramids of which they are not yet knowledgable. I hope her next book goes back to a story the little ones can love once again. This one is not requested reading, like the first two.

Give yourself plenty of time with some of these tongue-twisters, and have plenty of breath too... for those who do not speak Spanish (such as myself) the book is a wonderful read but challenging at first. I highly recommend it for those who want to encourage their children to be bilingual. A cute story!

Skippyjon Jones is fantastic. He is one of the funniest, liveliest, and captivating characters that has come along in a while. This book comes with an audio CD, which is great because the author actually reads the book and you get to hear her interpretation of Skippyjon's accent when he transforms from a cat to a sword fighting Chihuahua who speaks with a Spanish accent. Great book for teaching character, setting, descriptive writing, parts of speech (e.g. lively adjectives, verbs, prepositions, etc. related to Skippyjon Jones). Highly recommend!!!

My son enjoys this book quite a bit, and the pictures are adorable. Unfortunately, the exaggerated accents and stereotypical representations of Mexican culture are (as several earlier commentators have noted) clueless and offensive. If you like the drawings, I would strongly suggest getting one of her other books instead.

I first purchased this book for my nephew. I read it and kept it for myself! I have now purchased 5 more copies for my nieces, nephews and my mother! This book is so much fun children and adults who still remember what it's like to be a child will enjoy it!

This book is fun to read, and my 2 year old daughter loves it! It is somewhat difficult to read, but that is partly what makes it so fun. This is so far my favorite book that we have bought for my little girl. Good story, and very funny.

I have all of the SkippyJon books and cannot wait for the next one. My oldest son and his wife and newest daddy and mommy in my family found the series while shopping for something to read to their baby waiting to be born. She is 3 months old now and reacts to all of the SkippyJon books with glee...the rest of my grandchildren, spanning 3 to 12, love the series and are anxiously awaiting another.

This board book has very few pages and lacks the story that I expected from other Skippjon Jones books. My four year old learned his colors a long time ago and has not shown any interest in this book since we first read it. I do not recommend it for preschoolers but babies might enjoy it. I wish I had been able to peek inside the book before buying.

My 2-year-old loves the Skippyjon Jones board books. These books definitely seem to be aimed at a younger audience than the other Skippy books, but are a great way to introduce this fun-loving kitty to toddlers and pre-schoolers.

Buyer Be Cautious.......2007-02-23

"Up & Down" and "Colors" are not the typical Skippyjon books. They're for babies and toddlers .... I'd say no older than 2. Each page has 2 or 3 words on it, no real story. Sure, you could say that a 4 or 5 yr. old might use it to learn to read, but I've found that a child learning to read still prefers some kind of story. I bought the 2 books despite them being listed as board books. I didn't think much of it, because our original SJ book was softcover, and the 2nd was hard cover. The editors recommended ages for Up & Down and Colors was still for older children. I was very disappointed when they arrived. Thank goodness I also ordered the Mummy book too, so all was not lost. I wouldn't say this book was bad (sorry about the 1 star rating) but it's not what I expected from the Skippyjon series.

One of my favorite books on Siamese Cats.......2007-01-10

I was heartbroken when my original copy of "All About Siamese Cats" was water damaged years ago. The book had pages that appear laminated (not your ordinary paper) and while the water didn't affect the photos and text, it did cause the pages to wrinkle. This last summer I came across a copy of this book online at Amazon.com. When it arrived, I was pleased to find it was exactly the same copy as the one that was damaged. This is a pretty basic book but I'd recommend it to anyone that loves Siamese!

I am the mother of 2 boys and have little knowledge of "girl" books. I bought this book for 2 little girls ages 4 and 5. The parents of each girl said their daughters were thrilled with the book and asked that it be read to them twice the day the book arrived. I bought the book because I love Amy Tan's novels and assumed that a child's book would be just as engaging. Amy Tan's story and the beautiful illustrations did not let me down.

The most exquisitely illustrated book I've ever owned! A fun, fictitious way to describe how white siamese kittens get their colors.
It's a bit long for a bed time story, but really fun! Kids ages 8 or 9 and up may be able to read it themselves, but the beginners may have a hard time.

I've read Amy Tan's "Joy Luck Club" and "Kitchen God's Wife" and had no idea that she's a wonderful children's author as well. I learned about this book from watching the same titled PBS series. The series is cute for kids, but the book is a wonderful story, rich in history and beautifully illustrated. Tan is a gifted writer that children and adults can appreciate.

The book 'Siamese Cats (Complete Pet Owner's Manual)' is a good basic book on Siamese Cats. I was pleased with the quality of paperback edition and love the photo illustrations.

Talked about different types of siamese the shape of their heads, colors. Also how their personalities are different from other types of cats. They are quite chatty. The book had some good information on Siamese and regular cat care.

The material presented is well-presented for the average lay reader. It's a general over-view of Siamese cats, with a fairly extensive section on breeding.

I would have preferred for Collier's book to have dealt more with behavior and training. The two subjects receive some attention, just not enough.

Good starter book.......2005-07-08

This book is a good introduction to Siamese cats. My version is somewhat dated as it still recommends FIP and FeLV vaccinations. It also doesn't describe the risks of rabies vaccines. I've yet to find a really good reference book for comprehensive feline health information. Cats often exhibit much more subtle symptoms than dogs. I also would like to find better information on issues relative to purebreds. The Cornell Book of Cats is a good next book, but I'm still searching for an advanced layperson's book.
