Customer Reviews:
Mehh, its OK - dont believe the hype.......2007-08-23
I admit that Examkrackers is all right - they are the best condensed review for the MCAT on the market. Of course this doesn't mean jack considering that the rest of the review materials (kaplan, etc.) are pretty much garbage. Does it make you the best if you're king of the garbage pile? I'm not saying that Examkrackers sucks - its just OK. Its the best MCAT review on the market, but it has a ton of problems - many concepts are explained vaguely (thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and optics to name a few), the answers for the review questions are vague, and THEY ARE ACTUALLY NOW CHARGING FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THEIR WEBSITE TO SEE THE ERRATA TO THEIR BOOKS. So if you buy this set, be prepared to shell out more cash to join their forums to get a clearer explanation to certain topics only vaguely referred to in their books. Let me also say to look elsewhere for a condensed review on electromagnetism (they left A TON of stuff out). Its pros are that they give great condensed reviews on Biology and Organic chem.
I don't know how they've got a ton of 5 star reviews - I think THE ExamKrackers COMPANY IS ACTUALLY filling out at least 75% of the 5 star reviews on amazon (shame shame) - its 4 stars AT BEST... Not that that means its a totally crappy product...
this book is all you'll need for MCAT.......2007-08-15
This package is geared toward to new computer-based MCAT. The entire package consists of five books (bio, organic chem, chem, physics, verbal and a practice exam). The materials covered in the book is succint and colorful that makes studying fun and efficient. Highly recommended to everyone who is going to take MCAT.
Examkrackers Mcat Complete Study Package (Examkrackers).......2007-08-13
This is a great package with all you need to know about the material that's on the MCAT's. This package includes a review book on each subject. Each book sums up the material, which i normally find difficult to understand, and makes it easy to remember with a little bit of humor. This package was perfect for what i needed to prepare. Don't waste your money on the exam classes. teach yourself with these books and you'll remember more.
Examkrackers for MCAT.......2007-08-09
This product is definately the way to go. I have gone through the Kaplan book as well as this series, and there is really no comparison. Examkrackers is a superior product.
MCAT Preperation.......2007-07-27
Outstanding product! I prepared for the MCAT last year with a different company and spent almost $1700 for an online class (completed all the material too). My first MCAT scores were less than adequate to say the least. I have spent 4 weeks now using this material (Plus Audio Osmosis- and a few other ExamKrackers material-Examkrackers MCAT Audio Osmosis with Jordan and Jon (Examkrackers)Examkrackers 16 Mini Mcat's (Examkrackers MCAT Manuals)) and feel SO much more prepared than I did last year. I could have saved over $1200 if I used ExamKrackers last year.
This product sums up a tremendous amount of information. Even better, it is full of short cuts and memory aids that are essential for the timed MCAT test. My scores have improved DRAMATICALLY!

Informative........2007-10-11
This book is well organized (grouping schools by state), and lays out all of the specs that "at a glance" profiles leave out. It's a good tool to use before visiting websites and digging deeper into what each school has to offer. I'd recommend it highly.
Must have!!!.......2007-09-28
This is a must have for any student going to med school! It tells requirements and interviewing process for each school and a little more information about them. Everything is right there in that one book!
beware of year, otherwise great.......2007-09-23
Be aware that when the book says "2008-2009", it refers to the first year of medical school that you would be applying to enter. So, it's what you would want if you begin applying in the summer of 2007. Otherwise, the book is very helpful, although I wish that it contained more information on the rank of the school.
Useful Resource.......2007-09-23
This is a very useful resource in the medical school application process. It gives essential information in an accesible format.
Med School Admission Requirements.......2007-09-03
We ordered this for our son and did not know that he had already purchased one at the beginning of his senior year in pre med. He says that this is every pre med students required reading. We were able to return this book to Amazon without any questions asked. Book was delivered promptly and arrived the day before expected delivery date.

Customer Reviews:
Very useful material.......2007-09-15
Extremely useful set of forms and ideas for use in the restaurant industry. It is skewed towards full service restaurants; but still has lots of useful stuff to apply to QSR. Do not expect to find a treatise on training, though. The CD ROM helps to take advantage of the material because it has the full text on pdf format and several of the sections in MS-Word format.
Easily tailored forms and a must for any food service operation.......2007-03-16
Douglas Robert Brown's excellent reference tool is worth every penny and should be in every food service operator's reference library. I have recommended his book for my tea students for the last five years and am pleased to endorse the revised media. From the small tearoom owner to the chain restaurant, Mr. Brown's resource is a valuable tool. Carnelian Rose Tea - Tea Business School - Jennifer Petersen

Book Description
PC-based simulations, though touted by many in the aviation community as excellent flight training aids, are not being used to their full potential. This guide and the accompanying CD illustrate how to get the most out of Microsoft® Flight Simulator with general suggestions, specific advice, and practical tools. Student pilots can use the comprehensive information to review specific concepts and prepare themselves for formal flight instruction, while certified pilots can upgrade their navigation skills, learn about advanced aircraft and procedures, and complement their real-world flying with additional hours in the virtual skies. The materials are equally suitable for flight instructors looking for new tools to use in ground school classes and pre- and post-flight briefings and virtual aviation hobbyists will welcome the in-depth information on flying in the real world.
Customer Reviews:
Somewhat helpful.......2007-09-05
The first few chapters offer more background then actual gaming tips. I would have liked to see more material on flying commercial airliners on flight simulator. This book concentrates on small planes.
Written for flight instructors.......2007-08-23
The book is good about telling you what you can learn from using flight simulator. It does seem to focus on the flight instructor side. I haven't flown the practice missions yet, so I can't comment on those.
Great book for flight instructors...........2007-07-04
...and student pilots using MS Flight Simulator for help in their flight training. As a private pilot I still find FS an amazing program and found the book useful as a guide to use it for training purposes. As another reviewer noted, the CD included is worth the price by itself.

Helped me with my training!.......2007-05-29
This is such a great resource for my training, in fact i used it together with the flight simulator and another book, The In-Flight Diversion Handbook by john nghiwete, to help me with my pilot training which i did in Florida. i recommend it to all my friends.
A good place to start.......2007-05-12
Lots of good solid information, well written and thought out; I would recommend it highly.

Customer Reviews:
Innacurracies, in my opinion........2007-10-06
I haven't taken the exam yet for Praxis, however, I have been overseas for a third of my life, so I know the ease at which cultural influences have on one's answers. I found the mathematics section to be excellent. However, in going over the reading and writing sections, I found that the answers given were very subjective. For example, in the "Writing, Multiple choice section", there were many answers I had which were not wrong. Maybe not right, according to their standards, but not wrong. Uses of cliches were given as wrong answers. BUT THESE ARE NOT WRONG. To use a cliche is neither wrong grammatically nor wrong semantically, yet it was listed as wrong because it is a cliche. Second, in one question on p. 56, the choice which explains what a carnivorous plant is, is marked as wrong. BUT IT IS NOT WRONG TO EXPLAIN the meaning of something, it is simply the author's choice to explain the meaning, it is neither wrong grammatically or semantically to do so.
I am not sure if these are the kinds of questions which are on the real PRAXIS exams, but if they are, then I would be surprised. I will see.
Very complete.......2007-08-26
I was looking for a study aid to prepare for my PRAXIS and found this one to have the best reviews. I read reviews for other books which usually recommended this book.
I was most concerned with the math portion of the PRAXIS. I read this book from the first page on. I kept a note book handy for exercises and practice questions. There are clear explanations of common mistakes that you may make. There are three full length practice tests available. I took one and felt a boost in confidence to see my score was much higher than anticipated.
This book definitely helped me prepare for the PRAXIS and I would highly recommend it. My only complaint is that it did not review graphing which is why I rated it a 4 out of 5 stars since I did have a couple graphing related questions on my exam. Aside from that missing review I did 10 points better in each section of my actual PRAXIS than on the practice tests.
This helped a lot........2007-08-23
I just passed my Praxis exam and this book helped me tremendously. The only thing I would note is that it is designed for the pencil and paper test and I felt that some of the strategies could have been revised to focus on the computer based test; however, it was comprehensive and worth the price.
not enough practice and explanation.......2007-08-11
this book had very little information on how to solve the problems and not enough practice. I should've bought a thicker and more complete book I guess.
Must buy when preparing to take Praxis I.......2007-07-12
I bought this book and studied several hours after work for about a month. I only took the two practice tests (never did the essay portions), and scored 3 points over my state's requirements. I just got my official scores today, so I had to post this. If you're preparing to take the Praxis I, this book will definitely prepare you for the exam. Just be sure to study and take the practice tests.
Good luck!!

Administrative Assistant's and Secretary's Handbook (Second Edition).......2007-06-24
This book is spectacular. It is up to date on everything. It defined exactly what my role will be in a job, the methods of being a savvy assistant and the explanations of duties is detailed and easy to follow. I have vowed to have this book in my desk at every assignment I work at.
It's like the Administrative Assistant's Bible!
Administrative Assistant & Secretary Handbook.......2007-05-28
Overall not bad. I ordered the book because I discovered general clerical tasks such as envelope & letter formats, answering phones, taking messages were not common knowledge to highschool graduates. This book gave our receptionist who had no office/clerical training good guidlines to follow. The computer section is outdated.
Administrative Assistant's and Secretary's Handbook.......2007-01-09
We (group of secretary's)work in a school and let me tell you that this book has helped us to understand the importance of an assistant. How we are the leading role of our bosses, we need to be well informed about everything around us and our bosses so that business can run smoothly and not look bad when someone ask something and not have the correct answer. The book has become our inseparable partner, it helps us in everything we do.
Administrative Assistant's & Secretary's Handbook.......2007-01-03
This book covered all the areas I was interested in and then some. It has been very useful and has been a great reference. It was a great buy.
Good resource.......2006-07-25
This book met my needs for updating my secretarial resources. I haven't done administrative support for about 10 years and this brought me up-to-date on a lot of the changes. A worthwile addition to your library resources.

Customer Reviews:
Wonderful Preparation Tool!.......2007-08-05
This book was a very thorough study guide. The practice tests were very valuable, as was the extensive information regarding theorists and other information that was on the test. I just took my Praxis today, and I left feeling very confident, thanks to this book!
Very Helpful.......2007-06-14
This book was much easier to use than the one from ETS. Information for each category on the test were easily accessible and clearly stated. The format for the case studies and multiple choice questions were exactly like the actual test. If you are looking for a book that is going to truly help you prepare for the PLT, this is it!
Worked for me!.......2007-04-07
I am pursuing an alternate licensure track in Ohio and needed to take the PLT 7-12 as part of the process. Although I finished a MA Ed degree in 2004, I didn't have the background in this material like current undergrads might. So I needed a sound text for not only review but also with important topics fleshed out for study. I read this book cover to cover twice and made review lists with major points to study starting one month prior to the test. I did all the multiple choice questions and reviewed the free response for all the age groups.
I just got my score and passed with a 179. Ohio's passing score is 165. This book works!
Helpful!.......2007-02-08
I used this book to study for the 0041 and 0042 exams. I found the guide more accurate in predicting what types of questions would be on the 0042 exam than on the 0041. I found the 0041 exam questions to be more difficult than the sample questions in the book, but the book served as a good starting point for studying. If you're taking the 0041 exam, study the time periods religiously! This is probably the best guide out there that is not more expensive than the exam itself.
I ended up passing both exams with excellent scores!
Great test review book for content summary.......2007-01-10
I bought this book to prepare for the Praxis PLT 7-12 and found it extremely helpful. The content review section is extremely thorough and covers all of the material you need to know for the exam in a concise and organized manner. It made it easy and accessible to find info about different educational theorist rather than searching through a psych of teaching textbook. The review questions are also helpful and good for praxis. Definately, worth the buy if you need a review book!

Customer Reviews:
Not realistic at all.......2007-09-27
I was looking for a job that would hold my interest and support me well while I'm going to school. I heard about medical transcription and thought it sounded great. I have taken two medical transcription courses. The first course was at my local vocational school and they used this series of textbooks. The second course was through an online school that specialized in mt training.
This book is terrible if you are using it with the expectations of getting a job after completing it. It only gives a very small selection of medical terms. There is a vocabulary list before each report exercise, but if you actually want to transcribe for a living you are going to have to learn MANY more terms. You need to learn suffixes, prefixes, root words, basic anatomy, etc., none of which can be found in this book. Also, the reports in this book have been read by actors and are way too clearly dictated to provide actual training. Real dication is usually much harder to hear - you'll deal with a lot of background noise, stammers, mumbling, and rushed speaking when listening to actual reports. The reports in this book are read in a variety of accents, but that really doesn't provide enough experience. Needless to say, after taking the vocational course that used only this book as the text, I was not able to find a job.
About halfway through the vocational course, I was feeling very disappointed. I spoke to a neighbor and discovered that she was taking a course through an online school that specializes in mt training. (I'm not going to put the name of the school in here because I don't want anyone to think I'm just advertising for them. If you are curious, you can contact me through Amazon). I started taking the online course and was amazed at the difference between the two courses. The online course had units on anatomy, vocabulary, improving typing speed, proof-reading, grammar, etc. The practice reports were ACTUAL reports and were MUCH harder than the actor-read reports in this book. The online course did an excellent job in preparing me to work as an mt.
In short, if you are just curious whether medical transcription might be for you, you could get this book and flip through it. It will show you very basic examples of what the job entails. If you are wanting something to buy to use as your sole training in becoming an mt, this is not the book for you.
Second career?.......2005-08-15
My daughter works with horses, makes very good money, but only works 20 hours a week. She was considering taking medical transcriptionist courses. I bought this book to give her a real taste of what the courses would be like. It would be a good additional career if she could work it around the horse training she loves and excels at. This book is perfect for anyone considering a medical transcriptionist career. I gives you a very clear idea what is involved in beginning transcription.
Very pleased........2005-05-26
This is the textbook I used in my Beginning Medical Transcription course and I found it to be very helpful. Audio cassette tapes were given out from the teacher with model operative, autopsy, H & P, cytology, and consultation reports that coincided with the lessons in the book. The terminology that was in each chapter was used frequently in the reports to assimilate the student with typing the words, as well as being able to hear it pronounced in different ways. It gave a background lesson in basic terminology, including suffixes and root words. I thought that this book helped me in great ways.
Difficult at first, but then got it........2000-11-16
I too found this book to be hard to understand at first. I thought I'd never get done with it. I decided not to let a book get the best of me so I really applied myself and soon I had the hang of it. The only thing I would have added to the book is more tests at the end.
poorly written and very unorganized.......1998-12-10
This text is very poorly written and proved to be an impossible study guide in my initial medical transcription course. I would not recommend it to anyone.
