Great Child's Book.......2007-09-09
My nephew loves this book. He reads it over and over again and thinks it is funny.
Can't go wrong with Skippyjon.......2007-08-26
My 2 yr old loves this book. If you a skippyjon fan like we are, its a must have.
Great and silly way for kids to learn colors.
A disappointment.......2007-05-13
This board book has very few pages and lacks the story that I expected from other Skippjon Jones books. My four year old learned his colors a long time ago and has not shown any interest in this book since we first read it. I do not recommend it for preschoolers but babies might enjoy it. I wish I had been able to peek inside the book before buying.
Skippy Jon JOnes .......2007-05-12
book is a board book, a lot smaller than i expected. only like 5 pages long
Very Cute!.......2007-03-24
I ordered this book along with another one and the Skippyjon Jones stuffed animal. My grandson (age 10 months) LOVES them! Very Cute!
Book Description
???Watch out, Bridget Jones: There???s a new singleton in town, and she???s got needles! This hilarious book chronicles the life of a newly divorced woman, as she struggles, dates, and knits her way back to sanity.??? --Knit.1 magazine If you???ve ever been dumped, duped, or three minutes from crazy, you???ll love Crazy Aunt Purl. Side-splittingly funny and profoundly moving, Drunk, Divorced, and Covered in Cat Hair is the true-life misadventures of Laurie Perry, aka Crazy Aunt Purl, a slightly neurotic, displaced Southerner trying to create a new life after her husband leaves her to ???get his creativity back.??? (Whatever the hell that means.) But will she get her groove back in a tiny rented apartment, with a mountain of boxes, visible panty lines, and a slight wine-and-Cheetos problem? ???I was a thirty-something woman living alone with four cats. I was probably going to be divorced. I was on the short bus to crazy. I pictured my grandmother making hoop-skirted yarn cozies for the toilet paper. I pictured myself making doilies for furniture that I did not own. I saw my cats wearing knitted hats with lace appliqués. From my vantage point, knitting seemed like 100 percent of some road I did not want to walk down.??? Yet, surprisingly, it???s knitting that saves her and emboldens her to become fully engaged in life again--to discover new friends; to take risks, however scary; and to navigate the ins and outs of the modern dating scene. ???Dating has changed in a decade. Now there is a higher chance of meeting someone who has an internet porn addiction than someone who has a job. In Los Angeles, your dinner companion might have served time in Pelican Bay or run a meth lab. Or, worst of all, he might spend all night talking about his agent, his craft, and what it means to grow as an actor. Then he???ll ask you to read his screenplay.??? And such is life in this quirky, irreverent memoir, a spin-off of the blog phenomenon, www.crazyaunt purl.com, one of the most successful online diaries in history, exploding to an international fan base of enthusiastic readers. But don???t worry, you don???t have to knit to love Aunt Purl. You just have to know what it feels like to have loved, to have lost, or to have taken a leap of faith. We???ve all been there: Pass the wine. Laurie Perry has written for the Los Angeles Daily News. She has been profiled in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Vogueknitting. Visit her website at www.crazyauntpurl.com.

LOVED IT !.......2007-10-11
I am an avid reader of Crazy Aunt Purl's blog and this book was just as good. I could not put it down! Grab a glass of wine and read this book!!! You will laugh like you never have before.
So good I couldn't put it down!.......2007-10-03
I am an avid reader of Laurie's blog, so naturally I had to buy her book. I laughed, I cried, and having recently been left by my husband as well, I felt like I completely identified with her. This book is one of the best I've ever read! I would recommend it to absolutely anyone!
I gobbled it in an evening!.......2007-10-02
I've been a huge Crazy Aunt Purl fan since finding her blog. It was pure luck - right after I did, my own fiance decided he didn't want to get married to me after all. She put into words exactly what I was feeling so many times, it was uncanny.
When I got her book, I literally read it in one setting. It's wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone. Don't worry, its not a rehash of her blog - in fact, its probably 98% unique content. I've been forcing people to listen as I read bits out loud - and they actually liked what they heard.
The knitting patterns aren't all that exciting - I'd rather have had more content, but I loved the pictures of her cats "modeling" them, so I'm not too upset about it.
She Found her Creativity!.......2007-10-02
I discovered Crazy Aunt Purl's blog months ago, and have read it with delight ever since. So of course I pre-ordered the book, which is a wonderful journey through love, loss, depression, and a return to the world. Laurie is a 30-something graphic artist working in a Los Angeles area bank, whose clueless husband one day just left. No arguments, no months or discussions, just "I have to find my creativity."
Turns out Laurie is the one who finds her creativity! Her blog that recounts her daily struggles with Los Angeles traffic, her bad-luck jeep, a gardener from hell and four adored cats (now, sadly reduced to three), has become a must-read for thousands worldwide. With the help of supportive friends and family, Laurie emerges from her self-imposed hermit-hood and picks up some sticks and string -- and becomes a knitter.
Spending hours alone with her cats, wine and yarn, Laurie emerges as a delightful personality with a wonderfully wry take on life. This is a book for everyone who has been through a loss and emerged the better for it. You'll want Laurie for your new best friend.
Not your average self help book, or humor book, or knitting book..........2007-10-01
I received and finished this book yesterday (Still haven't tried the knitting recipes yet--but soon). I began reading it and I could not put it down. I stumbled upon Crazy Aunt Purl's blog several months ago via the Yarn Harlot and I was hooked--so I had to have the book. It is certainly not a disappointment.
I laughed and I cried. This is the handbook on being Southern, jilted and getting over it all in the best sort of way. It is the narrative journey from being "half a couple" to a whole person. I hope there are more books in Laurie Perry's future.

If you have a cat, the answer to the title's question is, almost by definition, yes. John Wright, certified animal behaviorist, has spent much of his career making house calls to advise the distraught owners of certifiably crazy felines. He covers a wide range of topics, including multiple-cat households, stress reactions, and the urge to punish. He brings understanding and humor to situations that are not so humorous when they happen to you (e.g., when your cat pees everywhere but in the box) and offers solutions that'll make sense to both you and your cat.
Book Description
Winner! 1995 Best Instructional Nonfiction Book Cat Writers' Association "This is a delightful, practical, well-written, sensible, and easy-to-follow book
about living with cats and enjoying them." John E. Saidla, DVM, Director of Continuing Education, College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University Is Your Cat Crazy? provides feline fans with a wealth of practical information and entertaining stories drawn from Dr. Wright's long practice making housecalls on dysfunctional cats. Along with helpful suggestions on how to cope with the most common behavior problems, he shows cat owners how and when to pick out a new kitten, what determines a cat's personality, how to deal with multiple cats, and what works and doesn't work when it comes to kitty "discipline." Whether the problem is strange eating habits or disdain for the litter box, aggression or post-traumatic stress, Is Your Cat Crazy? will help restore order to a cat-crazy home.
Customer Reviews:
Silly and unspecific.......2005-10-13
The author spends lots of time writing about details that are great for short stories, but not for "how to" books. Finally at the end of a chapter he'll give summary advice that is vague and really not helpful. For example: ...so make sure you litter box is in a place that doesn't upset the cat.... Duh.... If you are really bored and want to read details about dysfuncional cat owner and the guy who comes in and moves the feeding dish to make it all better, then this is THE BOOK for you!
Too much of the same thing.......2004-09-03
My problem with "Is Your Cat Crazy" is that its a much thicker book than it needs to be. What information is there is good, but we get case after case of the same problems with the same solution. Probably 75% of the book is about litter box problems. There's one chapter devoted to the topic, and its a good chapter, but then virtually every other cat he encounters has litter box problems and he explains, again and again ad nauseum, what he did to solve them.
Aside from litter boxes issues, his advice is this: don't use physical punishment of any kind, distract the cat from bad behavior by throwing a toy, and administer anti-anxiety medicine or sedatives until the cat improves. If your cat is using his/her litter box, I just saved you $10.
This guy knows stuff!.......2002-09-27
Had this book recommended to me when I inherited someone else's problem cat who refused to go in the box.
This book explained how the kitty brain works! I was able to watch and observe my kitty, get inside her head, and give her a box she would go in!
You must supply your own patience of course!
Every page is full of amazingly useful information........2002-05-28
I am totally amazed by this book.
every page is so full of useful information.
I didn't expect the book to be this much useful.
It's so easy to read, fun, and enjoyable.
If only possible, I would give 5 million stars to this book.
Mine eyes have been opened..........1999-06-14
Wow! What a great book. With a background in experimental social psychology and more than a passing interest in animal behavior, this book did a great job of applying psychological principles I've learned to cat behavior problems. Most times I don't find this in books on animal behavior.
I found this book to be really interesting. In fact, now I'm wondering if his is a career path I would like to follow. I think Dr. Wright's career is fascinating and intriguing. I really loved the way he first completely presented the cat problem to us and then gave us the solution he used. I found myself trying to figure out what the solution was before I read it. Alas, most of the time I was stumped, but after reading the solution, it made complete sense.
If you love trying to understand your cat, or if you have behavior problems, then this book is for you! It's a must if you are serious about your cat!

Even the laziest lap cat has moments known as "the zips." Suddenly running amok through the house, leaping from couch to curtains to counter and back again, kitties with the zips are tiny terrors that rarely damage more than a houseplant but are seen by their family as certifiably insane for those few moments. Authors Bob Walker and Frances Mooney have captured tons of cats in the grips of the zips, and you're sure to recognize your own beloved feline within these pages. Walker's photographs range from kitties desperately escaping from the bottom of a Christmas tree to calmly drinking out of a coffee mug. One orange tabby seems to have a special eye for trouble--he's seen everywhere, from playing in a bathtub to wedging himself in a woodcarving work-in-progress. In a calmer moment, this same mischief-maker is shown in a classically cute pose--"hugging" a fellow feline while sleeping cheek to cheek. Does it get more adorable that that? Each photo is accompanied by a short reason we all love cats. While the quotes may seem serious upon first reading, look again at the companion picture. Yes, we do love cats "because they are there for us," but do we love them when we are trying to shave and they are lounging across our shoulders? Perhaps not. This bright and cheery book will make any feline fancier laugh a lot, nod knowingly, and give their favorite kitty a treat and a tummy rub. --Jill Lightner
Book Description
From the moment it came out in 1996, The Cats' House captivated readers, who flip through the book's colorful pages with the intensity of a cat enthralled with a string ball. Few can resist the rich photography and simple tale of how Bob Walker and Frances Mooney converted their bungalow into the ultimate cat playground, complete with hanging walkways, carpeted ramps, and toys galore. Walker and Mooney followed with the award-winning Cats into Everything in 1999 and now show just what's behind their feline fascination with Why We Love Cats. Faithful readers and those new to this cat-loving couple will easily identify with this latest book, which features dozens of reasons why cats capture our hearts.Once again, Walker's unforgettable photography displays cats at their best and most beautiful. This book is purr-fect.

Cats Are Funny People.......2006-02-19
It's always amazing what cats can(& do)get into. You can almost see them think. There's always something about them that is almost human. They can surely work their way into your heart..
Hilarious!.......2004-11-26
Those of us who love our kitties to an almost "nutty" degree will appreciate the psycho cats depicted here!
Another book with humorous cats worth having is Henry Beard's "French For Cats: All the French Your Cat Will Ever Need;" Bob Walker would no doubt like to have a few pictures of a cat with Le Trombone (the wild paperclip)!
Must read for cat lovers.......2001-02-01
This book is fabulous. It definitely proves that cats have true personalities. The pictures are well taken, funny, touching, and the captions detail all of the reasons why cats are so great. It's fun to go through the pictures and recognize things that my cat does. It's nice to know he's not the only crazy cat!

The Butt Hello - The Perfect Coffee Table Gift.......2006-11-22
I've bought several copies of this book and given it to cat loving friends as going away gifts, B-day gifts and just "cheer-up" gifts. It's a perfect little gift that every cat lover can totally relate to!
A great book for cat lovers and also cat haters.......2005-07-01
If your cat has annoying or endearing behaviors then you may see some of them in this great book. The simple folk art illustrations of a cat giving you a "butt salute" or of drinking from a toilet (Perrier anyone?) or of covering your head while you are trying to sleep will make you laugh out loud. A great gift for anyone with a cat. I particularly liked the page with the cat knocking off christmas tree ornaments, which happened in our house one year. I have never had one gnaw on my toes, but I always kept them covered around my cat.

Excellent read. A fun mystery that makes you want to keep reading until you find out the answers! Easy to read and lots of fun!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up a copy of CRAZY CATS by Melody Bussey. She's a new author and 'hey' you take your chances sometimes. But WOW! I was very impressed with her ability to paint 'pictures' in my head, draw me into the story( I wound up staying awake until 2:00am to finish it)and to leave me wanting to see more books by her. Her down to earth humor is evident in the book and the flavor is more like what one would expect if Nevada Barr had tea with Lillian Jackson Braun and they invited Erma Bombek to join them. A rolicking good time with a strong female protagonist.
A Country Erin Brokovitch.......2001-03-29
Having lived in Kentucky for many years and then retiring to Florida, I can feel in the pages of Crazy Cats the essence of both places. There lies in the soul of many expatriate Kentuckians a desire to return to the native soil where life began. The setting and people come to life in a clear and vivid manner as if one had painted a picture on the mind. The plot gets thicker and more intense chapter by chapter so that one dares not stop reading until the conclusion of the book. Cat's daring reminds one of Erin Brockovitch and her search for truth in face of insurmountable odds. A must reading for anyone interested in the mystery novel.
